- 0:00Speaker 1: She's on the Money.
- 0:02Speaker 2: She's on the Money.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Hello, and welcome to She's on the Money, the podcast
- 0:22Speaker 3: for millennials who want to drink Maduri illusions. But that
- 0:28Speaker 3: is absolutely not what's going on here today. But it
- 0:31Speaker 3: is once again Friday Drinks with the She's on the
- 0:34Speaker 3: Money team, And this week we have Georgia King, we
- 0:37Speaker 3: have Jessica Ricci, and we have Ryan John once again
- 0:41Speaker 3: back in the studio. Hello, And this week we have decided,
- 0:46Speaker 3: thanks to our friend Will from Dan Murphy's Richmond, we
- 0:50Speaker 3: have the Maduri illusion, which looks like, what would you
- 0:54Speaker 3: call this?
- 0:55Speaker 4: I said fluorescentce not Oh that's nice.
- 0:58Speaker 3: I was going to say radiator cooling.
- 1:01Speaker 5: Georgia, were you proud or ashamed when you bought them?
- 1:04Speaker 3: Georgia didn't buy that.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I didn't buy them.
- 1:06Speaker 5: Were you with me? Of course?
- 1:07Speaker 3: All right, jess and I were.
- 1:09Speaker 4: We were ashamed because that's how we met. Well, we
- 1:11Speaker 4: had to immediately justify our by telling him we had
- 1:14Speaker 4: a podcast.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, they smell horrendous.
- 1:16Speaker 5: Let me question when these other two rocked up Georgia
- 1:19Speaker 5: and you and I were already here, how did you
- 1:21Speaker 5: feel when you first saw them? A Duri I mean nervous.
- 1:24Speaker 1: It's like girls, maybe a nice pino noir next week. No, No,
- 1:28Speaker 1: we're just terrible drink. Did they ask you for your ID?
- 1:32Speaker 4: No?
- 1:32Speaker 3: But that was actually the segue into us meeting our
- 1:36Speaker 3: new friend Will from Dan Murphy's, and Jess had her
- 1:39Speaker 3: ID out ready to go because these are obviously what
- 1:42Speaker 3: would you call them party drink lolly drinks that sixteen
- 1:46Speaker 3: year olds by.
- 1:47Speaker 4: And eighteen year olds because that is the least drinking hut.
- 1:51Speaker 5: There was older eighteen year old siblings buy for their
- 1:54Speaker 5: youngest that is going to kill you.
- 1:56Speaker 3: At eighteen, Like, I didn't want to drink this, but hypothetically,
- 2:01Speaker 3: if you were to ever sneak out as a young
- 2:03Speaker 3: and to a party that your mum said don't go to,
- 2:07Speaker 3: that's maybe what you drink hypothetically, hypothetically agree, But we're
- 2:11Speaker 3: responsible drinkers, and we're not actually sponsored by any anyone,
- 2:16Speaker 3: not even Dan Murphy soho we've dropped three, but they're
- 2:20Speaker 3: more than welcome to sponsor us with I've heard that
- 2:25Speaker 3: is actually the reason why we had Jess's ID out,
- 2:28Speaker 3: because we genuinely thought we were going to get id'd,
- 2:30Speaker 3: and he actually looked at Jess and I and said,
- 2:32Speaker 3: oh no, I don't need to.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Id you too well real not the confidence.
- 2:37Speaker 5: Were something in the thread that if it promotes the
- 2:39Speaker 5: Friday Drinks episode and it is, how old have you
- 2:42Speaker 5: been and still been? Idd I actually want to know that. Yeah,
- 2:46Speaker 5: because Jess, you could pass a ten.
- 2:48Speaker 4: I got idea on the weekend. Actually that's why I
- 2:50Speaker 4: was like, wow, it's been a long work days.
- 2:54Speaker 3: But anyway, Will said he can recommend the mud slides.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I don't consume dairy, so I think that maybe I'll
- 3:05Speaker 3: let you off this one time.
- 3:06Speaker 5: Also, don't google Mississippi mud Slide.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Well, what do you think I'm going to do? Right
- 3:10Speaker 4: after you said that?
- 3:12Speaker 3: I think everybody's going to google it. But moving on, Ryan,
- 3:16Speaker 3: could you give us a little bit of a recap
- 3:18Speaker 3: of what we are going to be discussing today, because
- 3:20Speaker 3: I know you've got a few tricks up your sleep.
- 3:23Speaker 5: So every Friday Drinks obviously a bit less casual than
- 3:26Speaker 5: the Money Diary, and on Wednesday, as you might have
- 3:29Speaker 5: already can tell? Also, can I say the Monday episode
- 3:31Speaker 5: that came out this week with Daria only fansanger So
- 3:35Speaker 5: I got I got so many dms about that I'm guessing.
- 3:37Speaker 5: How do you go with feedback and stuff?
- 3:40Speaker 3: I got great feedback, I didn't get heaps of dms
- 3:42Speaker 3: who's been sliding into yours, like can.
- 3:44Speaker 5: You feature my account? I'm like, sorry, I'm just subscribing.
- 3:48Speaker 5: Go and check that out. But in the group this week,
- 3:52Speaker 5: Virginia has a back to school hack, which I'll tell
- 3:54Speaker 5: you about. Megan has a whole new wardrobe for free,
- 4:00Speaker 5: and if you love Lorna Jane and I'm scaring going
- 4:02Speaker 5: to say this wrong, Lululemon. I say Lululamon.
- 4:09Speaker 3: I actually thought that's what it was for a really
- 4:10Speaker 3: long time.
- 4:11Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, it's today. Well, Sarah has a hack if
- 4:13Speaker 5: you love that kind of stuff, like quarter of the
- 4:15Speaker 5: price kind of stuff. And Chloe has the cheapest per
- 4:19Speaker 5: meal food prep system that you just hacked by using
- 4:22Speaker 5: all these different codes and logins and stuff with Hello Fresh.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Oh.
- 4:26Speaker 3: I actually want to hear about that right.
- 4:27Speaker 5: So there soon. But first let's start Victoria your personal
- 4:31Speaker 5: win or confession of the week.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Okay, so my win or confession this week is actually
- 4:36Speaker 3: a confession, guys, and I think it's one that could stand.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Is a really good warning for the rest of our
- 4:41Speaker 3: community if you hire a car on a holiday. And
- 4:45Speaker 3: so this comes from yours truly, who was late for
- 4:48Speaker 3: her flight coming back from Port Douglas to Melbourne because
- 4:51Speaker 3: in true Victoria style, I knew I landed at four
- 4:55Speaker 3: o'clock in Melbourne and I had to be at a
- 4:58Speaker 3: work meeting by five, and so I knew that I
- 5:01Speaker 3: could not miss that flight. Otherwise that's going to be
- 5:04Speaker 3: in a little bit of a pickle. But it meant
- 5:06Speaker 3: I didn't have time to go to the petrol station
- 5:08Speaker 3: and top up my fuel before returning the car. Now
- 5:11Speaker 3: we had half a tank of fuel left, and I
- 5:13Speaker 3: was like, you, you know what, whatever that cost is
- 5:15Speaker 3: going to be worse three like astronomical price, I thought,
- 5:20Speaker 3: so eight dollars a liter three hundred and fifty dollars
- 5:26Speaker 3: for half a tank of fuel on my card the
- 5:30Speaker 3: other day because it hadn't hit like on the day
- 5:32Speaker 3: that we did it. Because I dropped off the keys
- 5:33Speaker 3: and said, hey, guys, here are the keys. Sorry, sorry,
- 5:36Speaker 3: it literally does need petrol, but I can't miss this.
- 5:38Speaker 5: Light judge to my card, tudget to the card like.
- 5:41Speaker 3: You've got it on account, and the girl was like,
- 5:43Speaker 3: are usual, And I was like, yes, I don't really
- 5:45Speaker 3: have any other option right now. And we checked our
- 5:48Speaker 3: card statement and three hundred and fifty eight dollars and
- 5:52Speaker 3: thirty cents later, we have paid for half a tank
- 5:55Speaker 3: of fuel for someone in Queensland.
- 5:57Speaker 4: That makes me want to cry.
- 5:59Speaker 3: It actually made me incredibly infuriated, and I just thought
- 6:03Speaker 3: i'd share that here for the very first time. I
- 6:05Speaker 3: haven't told anybody in this room that story just yet.
- 6:07Speaker 5: I'm so angry because, say, if you went on a
- 6:09Speaker 5: cheap hour, you might as well have flown home flowing.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Home business with quantus or was that even worth coming
- 6:17Speaker 3: home for the meeting?
- 6:17Speaker 5: I don't know. Was it a productive meeting it was
- 6:21Speaker 5: with you? Well that was a.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Waste, all right, But let's move on because I am
- 6:28Speaker 3: frustrated and I need to wind down. Jessica, what is
- 6:31Speaker 3: your money win or confession? This week?
- 6:33Speaker 4: I have a money win and it's a bit of
- 6:34Speaker 4: a congratulatory one. I was just telling Ryan this before.
- 6:37Speaker 4: But on the weekend, or maybe it's you, George, I've
- 6:39Speaker 4: lost track, but anyway, on the weekend, I went to
- 6:42Speaker 4: an escape room with some friends. And if you've never
- 6:45Speaker 4: been to one before, it's like a puzzle room. You
- 6:47Speaker 4: have to figure it out. There's like a whole plot.
- 6:49Speaker 4: They're really fun. We went with a group of eight
- 6:52Speaker 4: split into two teams of four. It was a little
- 6:54Speaker 4: bit competitive, and so we went in and we got
- 6:56Speaker 4: the best score that has ever been gotten in that room.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Huge ego win if I will.
- 7:02Speaker 5: But on top of.
- 7:02Speaker 3: That, we so broad guys. I also know, for those
- 7:06Speaker 3: of you who don't know Jessica, I know, like I've
- 7:09Speaker 3: never done an escape room with her, but I know
- 7:10Speaker 3: she walked into that room, took over the room and
- 7:13Speaker 3: was like, right, you look at this and you you
- 7:16Speaker 3: sit in the corner and don't touch it.
- 7:19Speaker 4: That was my boyfriend that last night. I know that's
- 7:22Speaker 4: how it got done. No, but the money win is
- 7:24Speaker 4: because we got the best time and that room closes
- 7:27Speaker 4: in a week. The guy said, if no one beats
- 7:28Speaker 4: our time in the next seven days, we get to
- 7:30Speaker 4: come back again and do another one for free.
- 7:32Speaker 5: How much did they cost.
- 7:33Speaker 4: It's like forty bucks per person per room, So it's like.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Oh wow, yeah, that's my recrespensive and I thought it
- 7:38Speaker 3: was going to be.
- 7:39Speaker 5: Yeah, between the whole team, you could get half a
- 7:41Speaker 5: tank of petrol for that.
- 7:43Speaker 3: A quarter of a petrol my gosh in saying that
- 7:46Speaker 3: Jessica is quite competitive, and I think sharing with our
- 7:49Speaker 3: community why Jessica was away for the weekend would also
- 7:51Speaker 3: be really interesting. Jessica, why were you all wait for
- 7:55Speaker 3: the weekend?
- 7:56Speaker 4: I play a very intensive sport called ultimate frisbee.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Literally the coolest game I've ever heard of, or had
- 8:02Speaker 3: never heard of until I met dress.
- 8:04Speaker 4: It's competitive frisbee with an actual disc. No, there are
- 8:06Speaker 4: no dogs involved, because we get that question a lot.
- 8:08Speaker 4: I can see that question on your face.
- 8:10Speaker 5: So we spoke about you playing frisbee last week in
- 8:13Speaker 5: the office, and you know how we always think like
- 8:14Speaker 5: our phones are listening to us with the algorithm. Since
- 8:17Speaker 5: you mentioned that, I'm now getting all these fancy Ultimate
- 8:20Speaker 5: frisbee videos on hitting.
- 8:22Speaker 4: But do they look cool?
- 8:23Speaker 5: Unbelievable?
- 8:24Speaker 3: It looks right awesome. I did not realize how intensive
- 8:27Speaker 3: the game. It's a whole until I watched your Instagram
- 8:30Speaker 3: stories over the weekend and I was like, wow, wow,
- 8:32Speaker 3: Like I couldn't well, she fit, Yeah, she fits. She fancy.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Is it like netball but with a friend?
- 8:38Speaker 4: Yeah? With a frisbee like you play if you play outdoors,
- 8:41Speaker 4: you play on it like an outdoor soccer fields. It's
- 8:43Speaker 4: quite a large field. Oh god, yeah.
- 8:45Speaker 1: How many players on a team?
- 8:46Speaker 4: Seven aside? So on field?
- 8:48Speaker 5: And how her legs? The day after cooked.
- 8:50Speaker 4: We played six games in six one hour games.
- 8:54Speaker 3: So you're running for six hours?
- 8:56Speaker 4: Yeah approximate. I mean, look, I did take breaks in
- 8:58Speaker 4: between points.
- 8:59Speaker 1: But that's crazy.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Yeah, she's going to do a marathon next week. Guys,
- 9:03Speaker 3: obviously stay tuned. Georgia. Have you got a money win
- 9:06Speaker 3: or confession for us this week?
- 9:08Speaker 4: Oh? You do?
- 9:10Speaker 3: Or is that you just enjoying your.
- 9:12Speaker 1: That story squirm?
- 9:14Speaker 3: I think that was was you enjoying your MIDII illusion?
- 9:18Speaker 1: Enjoying?
- 9:18Speaker 5: Is you know?
- 9:19Speaker 1: I feel like it's a word.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Is this a very Katherine Kim inspired drink?
- 9:25Speaker 1: I feel like it would be.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Then they drink a little bit of a medi re illusion.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I love that little accent.
- 9:31Speaker 3: You're welcome.
- 9:31Speaker 1: So I have a money win as well?
- 9:34Speaker 3: Yes, making up for my losses.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Well, I mean it's not that exciting, but last night
- 9:41Speaker 1: was half price half price night at cinema nov Yeah,
- 9:48Speaker 1: so ten dollars for a cinema ticket. And I also
- 9:51Speaker 1: haven't been since like the start of last year.
- 9:54Speaker 5: That would have been people.
- 9:57Speaker 1: No it was like maybe a quarter full.
- 10:00Speaker 5: I like that though. I like it.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it was good and like we didn't have to
- 10:04Speaker 1: wear masks we would have to do. The movie was great.
- 10:09Speaker 1: The Dry by Jane Harper. It's a book really popular.
- 10:13Speaker 1: It was really good. Eric Banner is hot.
- 10:16Speaker 5: That's your Can I ask a follow up money question?
- 10:20Speaker 1: Please?
- 10:20Speaker 5: All the money that you saved on cheap tickets, did
- 10:22Speaker 5: you then spend.
- 10:23Speaker 3: At Is it the candy bar?
- 10:25Speaker 5: No, it's like Brunetti, the Italian.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Cake Brunetti in the Why.
- 10:33Speaker 5: So did you spend ten dollars on movies and then
- 10:35Speaker 5: fifty dollars on food?
- 10:36Speaker 1: Look, yeah, there was a lot of popcorn and red
- 10:39Speaker 1: wine purchased, So yeah, guilty. But I would strongly recommend
- 10:44Speaker 1: for anyone in the market for a little Monday money win.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Nice Ryan John, I love that. Cinemas are my favorite.
- 10:49Speaker 1: What's that one in Hawthorne that I'm obsessed with? Just
- 10:52Speaker 1: across from Glenn.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Faerydo the Lido Cinema? The Ribbley is alright, but Lido,
- 10:58Speaker 3: oh my gosh, that is prime. They literally make that
- 11:01Speaker 3: this is my little vegan life shout out. They make
- 11:05Speaker 3: their quote buttered popcorn with coconut oil so that everything
- 11:09Speaker 3: is plant based and all of their snacks can be
- 11:12Speaker 3: done wild.
- 11:14Speaker 5: That's I don't know if that's nice or like the
- 11:16Speaker 5: saddest Melbourne heard.
- 11:19Speaker 4: I'm just I was like, that's nice for some people.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Give me the butter, my mother minding butter. Please, you
- 11:27Speaker 3: don't want to sit in a cinema with me after
- 11:32Speaker 3: you just don't you want that?
- 11:34Speaker 4: You?
- 11:34Speaker 3: I know you want coconut Ryan, What have you got
- 11:38Speaker 3: for us?
- 11:39Speaker 5: I'm one twelveth of away through a money win, a
- 11:43Speaker 5: long game for the year. I'm not purchasing any takeaway coffees?
- 11:49Speaker 4: What wow?
- 11:51Speaker 3: Because you are you? You are not the man.
- 11:53Speaker 5: I know, I know, I know. Things have changed, things
- 11:55Speaker 5: have changed.
- 11:56Speaker 1: How how you get up early in the morning? How
- 11:58Speaker 1: do you live?
- 11:59Speaker 3: You get up with I am for breakfast?
- 12:02Speaker 5: You would know. V I. I have experimented with trying
- 12:04Speaker 5: to not rely on coffee and I don't want to
- 12:06Speaker 5: have it as much as I do. And then so
- 12:08Speaker 5: that was one reason, because I feel like you crash
- 12:10Speaker 5: later in the day. So I was trying to like
- 12:11Speaker 5: get a bit of a balance. And then I thought, oh,
- 12:13Speaker 5: five dollars a day adds up. So here's what I've
- 12:17Speaker 5: done with spaceship. I've automated that five dollars a day
- 12:21Speaker 5: comes out of my account and goes into a spaceship.
- 12:23Speaker 5: So at the end of the year, how much will
- 12:25Speaker 5: I have?
- 12:26Speaker 3: V Oh, you have eighteen hundred and twenty five dollars, right, John, But.
- 12:28Speaker 5: That's what I've invested and plus the growth hopefully.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Of space is a day for three hundred and sixty
- 12:32Speaker 3: five days yet.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Yeah, so every day five dollars comes out of my account,
- 12:35Speaker 5: like wood if I was buying coffee, but instead of
- 12:37Speaker 5: going into coffee, it goes into my space.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Really living this shes on the money like lifeestyle, like
- 12:42Speaker 4: that is our. I feel like that's our like being
- 12:45Speaker 4: something up and investor.
- 12:46Speaker 5: But you're actually like, so at the end of the year,
- 12:47Speaker 5: how much do you predict that it'll be worth v.
- 12:49Speaker 3: At the end of this year?
- 12:51Speaker 5: Yeah, because like the eighteen hundred plus maybe growth if
- 12:53Speaker 5: the shares go up, I mean, we.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Don't know, and it's only twelve months, and like it
- 12:58Speaker 3: would be very nicety a long exactly, thank you.
- 13:01Speaker 5: I'm predicting ten thousand dollars.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Did you a coin?
- 13:06Speaker 5: Two grand?
- 13:08Speaker 4: Two grand?
- 13:09Speaker 3: That's still like a very high return for eighteen hundred.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Eighteen, I'd say, like.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Turn, maybe I actually spaceship is doing really well woman,
- 13:20Speaker 3: I think, which is.
- 13:21Speaker 5: Why I'm confident. But also it's two grand that I
- 13:23Speaker 5: would have thrown away to cafes around Melbourne anyway, so
- 13:26Speaker 5: I don't.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Want to say it's free. I love my coffee in
- 13:29Speaker 3: the morning. That is my non negotiable. If you told
- 13:31Speaker 3: me I had to do that, I would not do it.
- 13:33Speaker 3: I'd give something else up.
- 13:34Speaker 5: Well, when I'm at the office at she's on the money,
- 13:36Speaker 5: I go and use the machine it so I don't
- 13:39Speaker 5: have to pay for it. Yeah, and I still go out,
- 13:44Speaker 5: all right, So watch this.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Space Admitted to the oat Milk, Ryan, can you seguey
- 13:47Speaker 3: away from this conversation?
- 13:49Speaker 5: So coming up? There was one particular post in the
- 13:54Speaker 5: group this week that I mean, there's thousands that capture attention,
- 13:58Speaker 5: but I believe there was one in particular that you
- 14:00Speaker 5: really wanted to discuss.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Yes, because last week on Friday Drinks, I really liked
- 14:06Speaker 3: your recap of your favorite posts, but I also felt
- 14:10Speaker 3: like this post needed to be captured because I don't
- 14:12Speaker 3: think you saw it, and the reason I wanted to
- 14:15Speaker 3: talk about it was because Charlotte is an absolute legend,
- 14:19Speaker 3: and Charlotte posted, can we please share how we helped
- 14:22Speaker 3: someone else have a money win in our community this week?
- 14:26Speaker 3: It actually happened what on Tuesday, I think, And I
- 14:30Speaker 3: just thought that was such a cool thing and just
- 14:34Speaker 3: such a cool thing to share with our community because
- 14:36Speaker 3: it was just like people commenting. It's had more than
- 14:38Speaker 3: two hundred three hundred comments of people just sharing how
- 14:42Speaker 3: they've helped other people, and that is absolutely the spirit
- 14:44Speaker 3: of She's on the money. Charlotte started and she said
- 14:48Speaker 3: that she saw someone selling a beautiful white or ten
- 14:51Speaker 3: shelving unit, which if you're in the know, you would
- 14:53Speaker 3: know that's pretty fancy and very in fashion right now
- 14:57Speaker 3: for fifty bucks and it was an older gentle in
- 15:00Speaker 3: which she assumed by the wording of the post. So
- 15:02Speaker 3: she actually messaged him and told him that he was
- 15:04Speaker 3: selling it too cheap and he should up the pricing
- 15:07Speaker 3: of it, which he did and he was super grateful
- 15:09Speaker 3: for it, and he joked about how he should actually
- 15:11Speaker 3: have message here every time he wants to sell something
- 15:14Speaker 3: to get it valued. Anyway, there were lots and lots
- 15:17Speaker 3: of comments from people in our community just sharing times
- 15:20Speaker 3: that they've helped other people have a bit of a
- 15:21Speaker 3: money win. And if that's not she's on the money.
- 15:24Speaker 3: I don't know what is.
- 15:25Speaker 5: I don't think, Like I'd like to think i'd do
- 15:27Speaker 5: that for the old man, but there's no way I
- 15:28Speaker 5: would do that.
- 15:29Speaker 3: You bought it for fifty bucks a year, resold it
- 15:31Speaker 3: to some other plub for three and I.
- 15:34Speaker 5: Took a selfie with the cash, and so that's the
- 15:35Speaker 5: old man.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Okay, you are not you are Ryan is not my favorite.
- 15:42Speaker 3: But anyway, I thought that was a very sweet thing
- 15:45Speaker 3: in our community because one everybody was obviously being like,
- 15:48Speaker 3: that's so nice, but also, let's just do nice things
- 15:51Speaker 3: for other people without any expectation that they will return it,
- 15:54Speaker 3: because I genuinely believe that what comes around goes around.
- 15:56Speaker 4: And there's a thread for that coming soon because we
- 15:59Speaker 4: have had a few people off but to do very
- 16:00Speaker 4: generous things for others, or maybe they've got things they'd
- 16:03Speaker 4: like to pass along.
- 16:04Speaker 3: So yeah, like they're paying it forward thread.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Yeah, so keep an eye out. Will definitely post one
- 16:08Speaker 4: of those in the next week or so where you
- 16:10Speaker 4: guys can just make life better for each other.
- 16:12Speaker 3: I love that that's so cool. Now, after all the
- 16:24Speaker 3: sappy stuff, Ryan, you can tell us about your favorite
- 16:27Speaker 3: posts from the week.
- 16:29Speaker 4: Oh wow, Oh he came prepared.
- 16:33Speaker 5: Is this the right feel?
- 16:34Speaker 3: It's absolutely the right feel. Have the McCauley for Ryan's
- 16:40Speaker 3: Money Wins.
- 16:41Speaker 5: Sorry, it's Megan McCauley. She said she hosted a clothing
- 16:45Speaker 5: swap and now has a brand new wardrobe for free,
- 16:48Speaker 5: same as all the attendees. Now, what does this mean exactly?
- 16:51Speaker 3: Because I think someone's mentioned it really throwing me.
- 16:53Speaker 5: It's distracting. Okay, clothing stop. Someone mentioned it in a
- 16:56Speaker 5: money diary I think last year. I'm assuming it's where
- 16:58Speaker 5: a bunch of friends gets together clo.
- 17:00Speaker 4: You get a bunch of people turn up to a location.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Generally speaking, you'll get there'll be like you get like
- 17:05Speaker 4: five tokens or whatever, and all your stuff goes in
- 17:07Speaker 4: and then you can pick five things that you want.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Like it's like you give five, get five kind of thing.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Oh, there's like an actual process to it.
- 17:14Speaker 4: Well, the ones that I've seen, Yeah, like if you
- 17:16Speaker 4: do one with friends, you might kind of chuckle your
- 17:17Speaker 4: clothes in a room and you know it's a free
- 17:19Speaker 4: for all fight over at that.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Dress, right, so this is actually a thing you're saying, like,
- 17:23Speaker 3: sign up.
- 17:24Speaker 4: I thought this they used to go to Melbourne pre COVID.
- 17:27Speaker 4: It'd be like an actual event and you yeah, like
- 17:29Speaker 4: you can sign up and go in and donate your stuff,
- 17:32Speaker 4: so to speak, and then have free reign of whatever
- 17:35Speaker 4: else is there.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Oh my god, anti fast fashion.
- 17:38Speaker 4: Yeah, it's really cool.
- 17:39Speaker 3: I love that.
- 17:40Speaker 5: Is there?
- 17:40Speaker 3: All do with Shees on the Money one.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Oh the girls? And I feel like everyone in our
- 17:45Speaker 1: community would love that.
- 17:46Speaker 5: So do we just throw one hundred and thirty thousand
- 17:49Speaker 5: bits of clothing into a pile and then we all
- 17:51Speaker 5: want each I.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Mean, look, if it's coming from Victoria Divines to Wardrope,
- 17:54Speaker 4: I'd fight someone for that.
- 17:55Speaker 3: Definitely, one hundred and thirty thousand pieces of clothing in there, but.
- 17:59Speaker 5: There is one hundred and thirty thousand dollars worth of shoes.
- 18:05Speaker 5: Virginia Taylor says, I'm doing the kids back to school
- 18:08Speaker 5: haircuts myself this year. So she saved a whole bunch
- 18:12Speaker 5: of money.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Tommy is turning up with a bowl cut.
- 18:14Speaker 5: Did you cut Steve's hair during lockdown?
- 18:17Speaker 3: That did not go well?
- 18:20Speaker 5: Jessica Mary says she shopped around with her car insurance
- 18:24Speaker 5: provided and switched to someone with more options, more extras,
- 18:28Speaker 5: and save five hundred dollars total on a yearly premium.
- 18:31Speaker 4: That's who she wins. That's half of my premium.
- 18:33Speaker 5: I believe that was Budget Direct.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. I'm not recommending this company by any
- 18:40Speaker 3: stretch of the imagination. But I've never heard a.
- 18:42Speaker 5: Bad word, right, Okay, Well.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Everybody that is with it, and I have a heap
- 18:46Speaker 3: of girlfriends who are with Budget Direct, and Bingle apparently
- 18:49Speaker 3: has great reviews as well.
- 18:50Speaker 4: A Kidnam Bingle.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Yeah, Bingle is cute, but Budget Director, I feel like,
- 18:54Speaker 1: do they have TV's on at the moment?
- 18:56Speaker 4: Maybe I feel.
- 18:58Speaker 5: Yeah, same, it's always a yeah. But five hundred dollars
- 19:03Speaker 5: plus extra extras, blah blah blah options.
- 19:05Speaker 3: So she really stoked with that music?
- 19:07Speaker 4: Please?
- 19:11Speaker 3: Oh this is new music.
- 19:13Speaker 5: Sarah Butler. Ladies that buy Lorna Jane and Lulu Lemon tights,
- 19:18Speaker 5: go and check out Uniclo. My partner introduced me to
- 19:22Speaker 5: their tits last week and for the price of Actually,
- 19:25Speaker 5: before I get to that, Victoria.
- 19:26Speaker 3: How much would you why are you attacking me?
- 19:30Speaker 5: What's your guess? How much is it usually for like
- 19:32Speaker 5: Laurna Jane Lululemon tights, like they're really expensive.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, so I reckon the ones that I bought
- 19:38Speaker 3: last because they're the more fancy compression ones were probably
- 19:40Speaker 3: like one hundred and thirty dollars.
- 19:42Speaker 5: Yeah is that about huh?
- 19:44Speaker 1: Definitely for Lulu Lemon.
- 19:45Speaker 5: A Uniclo twenty nine dollars.
- 19:48Speaker 4: What wow?
- 19:50Speaker 3: And apparently just as good.
- 19:51Speaker 5: Well. Sarah said she's been wearing them, getting the job done,
- 19:54Speaker 5: really happy with them, and she can barely tell, like
- 19:56Speaker 5: you know, but she's like they're pretty much the same.
- 19:58Speaker 5: Really happy to save a hundred barck.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Yeah, well, really envious.
- 20:03Speaker 3: I don't need any more tips, but like I might
- 20:05Speaker 3: find a reason to more tights.
- 20:08Speaker 4: You know.
- 20:09Speaker 5: So I've just found another sound.
- 20:10Speaker 3: All right, that's a terrible sound.
- 20:14Speaker 5: Chloe says. Money. When I was about to renew my
- 20:16Speaker 5: Hello Fresh subscription, when I thought I'd do a little
- 20:19Speaker 5: research into other companies, because's actually I feel like there's
- 20:21Speaker 5: heaps that there's every week, there's a.
- 20:22Speaker 3: There's Hollofresh, this Maley Spoon, there's Dinnerly. The list goes
- 20:26Speaker 3: on my friends.
- 20:27Speaker 5: So Chloe thought I'll do a bit of research. See
- 20:29Speaker 5: if I can't get something similar for cheaper, I'll, you know,
- 20:31Speaker 5: I'll just chop around a little bit. So with the
- 20:33Speaker 5: combination of free delivery on the first order and a
- 20:36Speaker 5: Honey coupon codes and shot Back, she purchased eight meals
- 20:40Speaker 5: from Dinnery for a total of twenty three dollars.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Eight ten cents.
- 20:46Speaker 5: Which is a total of two dollars eighty per meal.
- 20:51Speaker 5: And obviously we're big friends and family have shot Back,
- 20:53Speaker 5: so apparently a bit of a kickback there as well.
- 20:55Speaker 5: So a really nice off two dollars meal.
- 20:58Speaker 3: I didn't even know you could get dinner through shot Back.
- 21:01Speaker 3: I'm genuinely impressed.
- 21:02Speaker 5: And now and a Honey coupon code. I don't is
- 21:05Speaker 5: that the thing?
- 21:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm actually yeah, yeah, it's actually shot Back's biggest competitor.
- 21:09Speaker 3: So I'm glad we use both of them, putting them together.
- 21:12Speaker 5: What a savage she doubled up.
- 21:16Speaker 3: You know what we're taking from that story issues shot
- 21:18Speaker 3: Back and they are friends.
- 21:20Speaker 5: I mean, why would you go anywhere else?
- 21:23Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you for the music.
- 21:25Speaker 5: Jess Philippy.
- 21:26Speaker 3: I I'm on Mario Kart about to like race my friends.
- 21:31Speaker 5: Jess Philippy, I hope that's I pronounced that right. Possibly
- 21:37Speaker 5: money when I had a Zoom Pro subscription for teaching
- 21:40Speaker 5: singing classes online that I did during lockdown, so that
- 21:42Speaker 5: was her business. You were teaching singing classes. But I
- 21:44Speaker 5: haven't used it since November and lazy me hadn't bothered
- 21:47Speaker 5: to cancel it. Yes, I finally got around to canceling
- 21:50Speaker 5: it today and I got an email and they said,
- 21:53Speaker 5: we can refund you since you've last used it, because
- 21:55Speaker 5: we say you haven't been using it that much. So
- 21:57Speaker 5: he's seventy five dollars back for the November decent January subscription.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Not have to do that.
- 22:03Speaker 3: I love that.
- 22:03Speaker 5: I do love that. So shout out to I mean Zoom,
- 22:05Speaker 5: I mean.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Zoom can afford it. They're making bank at the moment.
- 22:11Speaker 5: Can I just put it out there? For fifteen years,
- 22:14Speaker 5: Skype was like the thing, and then the time when
- 22:16Speaker 5: we actually needed it, they're nowhere. How is that possible?
- 22:20Speaker 4: Skype is trash?
- 22:21Speaker 5: And they're also sponsoring our next episode.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Speaking of getting a better deal, run John gin Or,
- 22:26Speaker 3: we dropped in the podcast group this week, well, we
- 22:29Speaker 3: dropped an ebook on how to negotiate a better deal? Really, yeah,
- 22:32Speaker 3: we did.
- 22:34Speaker 5: You are very productive I had no idea about this.
- 22:36Speaker 5: Please tell me more.
- 22:37Speaker 3: It's about how to get a better deal statnam. I
- 22:39Speaker 3: don't think that George has seen it either, but it
- 22:40Speaker 3: features a really large photo of her for those of
- 22:43Speaker 3: you interest. But essentially, I've realized that lots of you
- 22:48Speaker 3: are having a little bit of anxiety calling up your
- 22:51Speaker 3: insurance provider, or your car insurance or your phone people
- 22:56Speaker 3: to get a better deal. And I have written a
- 22:58Speaker 3: script for you all about how to start the call,
- 23:01Speaker 3: what you need to say during a call, and essentially
- 23:04Speaker 3: how to get the best deal. And I just think
- 23:06Speaker 3: that's a pretty sick thing to do.
- 23:07Speaker 5: Do you think we should make Victoria instead of just
- 23:10Speaker 5: telling us what to do? Show us what to do?
- 23:12Speaker 3: What do you mean I wrote you an ebook? Is
- 23:14Speaker 3: that not enough?
- 23:16Speaker 5: So you know what we're going to do? Yeah?
- 23:17Speaker 3: Who are you gonna call? We're going to but I don't.
- 23:19Speaker 3: I don't have any service through I.
- 23:21Speaker 5: Don't know that try and buy one and negotiate a
- 23:24Speaker 5: better deal.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Okay, I'm here for it. Wow, Am I a loyal customer?
- 23:28Speaker 4: We're fully going off?
- 23:31Speaker 3: Can you call actually with I just feel like that
- 23:33Speaker 3: would be more practical because I can say I'm a
- 23:36Speaker 3: Royal customer.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Thanks for calling sales. Your call may be recorded for
- 23:45Speaker 2: training and business purposes. Right if you're calling to Upbraak
- 23:48Speaker 2: Friends one, this is.
- 23:53Speaker 6: You.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Hi.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Well, thanks, how are you fine?
- 23:57Speaker 6: Thanks for asking I help you.
- 23:59Speaker 3: I just feel like I'm not getting the best deal
- 24:01Speaker 3: on my mobile plan at the moment.
- 24:03Speaker 6: Sure, I'm glad that you called us. Can your first
- 24:06Speaker 6: and last name please?
- 24:07Speaker 3: My name is Victoria Devine.
- 24:10Speaker 6: Thank you, Victoria. I have checked your plan. You're already
- 24:14Speaker 6: on the thirty five dollar plan, Victoria. So you want
- 24:17Speaker 6: more data on more calling.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'm on the thirty five dollar plan, but
- 24:21Speaker 3: I don't have enough data. I don't think. I'm just
- 24:23Speaker 3: looking at what other competitors of yours are offering. I'm
- 24:28Speaker 3: comparing and also like they all have much more data
- 24:32Speaker 3: for the same price.
- 24:35Speaker 6: And did you check our online plan or the offers?
- 24:38Speaker 3: Ah, yes, but there's nothing at the same price point.
- 24:41Speaker 3: I'll have to pay more money and I don't want
- 24:43Speaker 3: to pay more money. I want a better deal.
- 24:46Speaker 6: So you're saying your price point will be saying thirty
- 24:49Speaker 6: five dollars you want the more.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Loans, it'll be exact same, but I'll get thirty gig
- 24:55Speaker 3: or fifty fifty gigs of data instead. And right now
- 24:59Speaker 3: you'll see on my account that I always go way
- 25:00Speaker 3: with us, so I'll probably just swap.
- 25:03Speaker 6: No, we will give you unlimited data, why you worry,
- 25:06Speaker 6: And we will give you fifty giggs.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Of dara oh for the same price.
- 25:11Speaker 6: For the same price, it will be there for the
- 25:14Speaker 6: next twelve months. Okay, it's my actually forty dollar plan
- 25:18Speaker 6: given to you for thirty five dollars.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Oh brilliant.
- 25:22Speaker 6: In fact, I want to make this offer for you, Victoria.
- 25:26Speaker 6: We can give you a brand new LG phone as well.
- 25:30Speaker 6: With it, your bill will only be thirty six dollars.
- 25:33Speaker 3: No, I don't. I don't need a phone. I've already
- 25:35Speaker 3: got a phone.
- 25:36Speaker 6: It's not even for a dollar.
- 25:37Speaker 3: No, not even for a dollar.
- 25:40Speaker 6: Sixty four GB Android six points sixty inches sphone.
- 25:43Speaker 3: For a dollar and made a new phone. I literally
- 25:47Speaker 3: just need a like I just did.
- 25:50Speaker 6: I was just giving you the offer this.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you for that. That was very generous.
- 25:54Speaker 6: So this is just a plan change, no contract anything.
- 25:58Speaker 6: The plan is forty dollars month to month with a
- 26:01Speaker 6: five dollars credit for thirty six months. Sorry five dollars
- 26:06Speaker 6: credit for twelve months.
- 26:08Speaker 3: So what have I got currently on my data plan?
- 26:11Speaker 6: Currently you're getting thirty gigs of data? Yeah?
- 26:13Speaker 3: Can I have even sixty?
- 26:16Speaker 6: But then your bill will be forty dollars sixty gigabytes?
- 26:20Speaker 3: Could you do it for the thirty five? Steal though
- 26:23Speaker 3: the same time?
- 26:24Speaker 6: To my retention, steam Victoria in that regards, that's why
- 26:28Speaker 6: it's unlimited data.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Okay, all right, remember.
- 26:31Speaker 6: This, Victoria. You will get the fifty giga for the lifetime,
- 26:35Speaker 6: but after twelve months, this thirty five will become forty.
- 26:39Speaker 6: We have to negotiate another deal after two months. Right, okay,
- 26:42Speaker 6: I'll call you again in almost done. I'm just preparing
- 26:46Speaker 6: the plan. I apologize. My six year oldest class is
- 26:51Speaker 6: going on in the background. That's okay, and I'm enjoying
- 26:55Speaker 6: his nursery rhyme a week now. Yes, one more important thing.
- 27:01Speaker 6: This plan is ideally supposed to start Victoria from your
- 27:04Speaker 6: next bill cycle, which is enth of February. But looking
- 27:08Speaker 6: at your usage condition, I will give you fifty gigabytes
- 27:12Speaker 6: right now to you.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Oh, thank you, that's very kind.
- 27:15Speaker 6: And again on tenth of February, you'll get another fifty
- 27:18Speaker 6: gigs thanks. Okay, oh you're almost.
- 27:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I used everything.
- 27:26Speaker 6: And in fact, you have exceeded your data.
- 27:30Speaker 3: That's why I was calling to fix it.
- 27:32Speaker 6: That's very important. Then you change the plan once again.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Thank you so so much for your time tonight.
- 27:38Speaker 6: Anything else apart from this, No, I'll give.
- 27:40Speaker 3: You a retention team a call tomorrow.
- 27:43Speaker 6: Definitely, You're welcome. Bye, thank you, bye bye.
- 27:50Speaker 3: That did not go the way I thought it was.
- 27:51Speaker 3: And I could not stop laughing because I could hear
- 27:53Speaker 3: nursery rhymes in the background.
- 27:55Speaker 5: He was working from home.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Yeah, and I appreciate that. It's just one I didn't
- 27:59Speaker 3: expect to be thrown in the deep end after saying, hey,
- 28:01Speaker 3: I've got this great resource for the community, and you go,
- 28:03Speaker 3: all right, prove it.
- 28:04Speaker 5: They tried to give you a phone for a dollar
- 28:06Speaker 5: and you refuse, and he was really upset about it.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Not for a dollar, he did. I don't I know
- 28:12Speaker 3: that that might have been a look a dollar a month?
- 28:16Speaker 4: Yeah, dollar helpful?
- 28:17Speaker 3: Was that?
- 28:18Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 28:19Speaker 3: It just felt like a trap, like it felt like
- 28:20Speaker 3: he was going to lock me into a six thousand
- 28:23Speaker 3: month plan.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:25Speaker 5: I thought it was great. He was lovely, he was delightful.
- 28:27Speaker 3: You know what more more phone stuff should be like that.
- 28:31Speaker 3: I really liked him.
- 28:36Speaker 5: Slot fifteen minute detour. Here's the final money win a week,
- 28:40Speaker 5: Chelsea Johnson. What she got for us, the most unrelatable
- 28:44Speaker 5: money when I've ever heard. I was going to buy
- 28:46Speaker 5: some mini Magnums because they're on sale, and I got
- 28:49Speaker 5: to the checkout, they scanned them and they were actually
- 28:51Speaker 5: full price. So instead of buying them, I just told
- 28:53Speaker 5: myself that I didn't really need them. I don't need
- 28:55Speaker 5: a f pay full price, so I put them back.
- 28:59Speaker 5: That is ridiculous.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Restraint that I think a lot of people at this
- 29:04Speaker 3: table aspire to have. One day.
- 29:06Speaker 4: Amen, I would have taken those Magnetsine run.
- 29:11Speaker 5: Yes, right now.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Jess is a five finger discount kind of goal. Oh no,
- 29:16Speaker 3: don't say that. No, she's very pure. She would never.
- 29:19Speaker 4: People I think I steer.
- 29:21Speaker 3: I mean, you did admit last week and the week
- 29:23Speaker 3: before Liberating liberating different. Liberating and thiefing are very different.
- 29:33Speaker 5: Well, coming out next week is our new podcast, She's
- 29:36Speaker 5: on the Good Behavior Bond, and I'm looking forward to that
- 29:40Speaker 5: being hosted by Jess. Is there anything else, because I
- 29:42Speaker 5: feel like we've actually learned a lot here. There's a
- 29:43Speaker 5: lot of hacks we've learned how to save money and
- 29:45Speaker 5: get more data on our phone bills. Also, who's on
- 29:48Speaker 5: a thirty five dollars plan? Are you the cheapest personal?
- 29:51Speaker 3: I was so surprised when you said that, like thirty
- 29:53Speaker 3: five fucks, thank you. I do aspire to be aspirational.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I actually just really hustled that, and I feel like
- 30:03Speaker 3: it's because every single time, and I think this is
- 30:05Speaker 3: my top tip of the week, every single time I
- 30:07Speaker 3: go to change phone plans, I actually call them instead
- 30:10Speaker 3: of going online because they can always beat the online
- 30:13Speaker 3: amounts I've found historically. And that five dollar discount that
- 30:19Speaker 3: you heard him talk about, I have held on to
- 30:21Speaker 3: that relentlessly since university days. That's the student discount. I
- 30:25Speaker 3: won't let them get rid of. So they're like, oh,
- 30:28Speaker 3: like last time I called, they're like, oh, like, we
- 30:30Speaker 3: could upgrade you and it will only be five dollars
- 30:33Speaker 3: a month more per month, but we'll have to get
- 30:35Speaker 3: rid of your discount. But don't worry because it'll be
- 30:38Speaker 3: the same not having it. Do not take my five
- 30:41Speaker 3: dollar off me won't have it, so it's still on
- 30:45Speaker 3: my account. And as he said, I've been loyal to
- 30:48Speaker 3: him for four years.
- 30:50Speaker 5: No one, did you never get back to us? I
