- 0:00David Friedman, BS: Hello, this is Dr.
- 0:01David Friedman, host of To Your Good Health Radio.
- 0:03Many of you eat clean, you take your supplements, and you exercise,
- 0:07so why do you still feel off?
- 0:09That exhaustion that no amount of sleep fixes, the brain fog that makes you
- 0:14feel a decade older, the weight that won't budge no matter what you try.
- 0:19Conventional medicine shrugs it and calls it, eh, normal aging.
- 0:23Well, here's the truth.
- 0:24It's not normal.
- 0:26It's your cells crying out for help, and they may be aging
- 0:30years faster than you are.
- 0:32The good news is science now confirms that cellular damage driving
- 0:36your symptoms and stealing years from your life can be reversed.
- 0:41Joining us is a listener favorite, Dr.
- 0:43Josh Axe, back with a brand-new book called Heal Your Cells.
- 0:48He's going to share the secrets to unlocking optimal health and turning back
- 0:52your biological clock one cell at a time.
- 0:56Stay tuned.
- 0:57It all starts now
- 1:09Our next guest is a doctor of natural medicine and clinical nutritionist who
- 1:13has helped millions around the world transform their health through the power
- 1:17of food, herbs, and lifestyle medicine.
- 1:19He's a leading voice in personalized nutrition, functional medicine,
- 1:23and faith-based healing.
- 1:25If you're on social media, you've probably seen his videos on healthy
- 1:28living and how food is medicine, something you know I believe in.
- 1:32He's the founder of Ancient Nutrition, a top quality product
- 1:36line, and he's also pioneered the Health Institute and the Longevity
- 1:40Clinic, where he offers innovative approaches to root cause healing.
- 1:45And if all that didn't keep him busy enough, he also hosts the Dr.
- 1:48Josh Axe Show, a top five ranked health podcast.
- 1:52He's the New York Times bestselling author of Eat Dirt, Ancient
- 1:56Remedies, and the Biblio Diet.
- 1:58His brand new book is co-authored with Dr.
- 2:01Will Cole called Heal Your Cells: Reversing the Irreversible: A
- 2:07Proven Plan to Heal Faster, Reclaim Energy, and Unlock Longevity.
- 2:12Welcome back to the show, Dr.
- 2:14Axe
- 2:14Josh Axe, DC, DNM, CNS: Hey, thanks so much for having me
- 2:15David Friedman, BS: Now you've written bestsellers on gut health, ancient
- 2:18remedies, even biblical nutrition.
- 2:20Now you've gone all the way down to the cellular level.
- 2:23What convinced you that cellular dysfunction is the hidden root
- 2:26behind nearly pretty much every chronic disease out there?
- 2:29Josh Axe, DC, DNM, CNS: I've been in practice nearly twenty years
- 2:31and taken care of so many patients, and one of the things I've realized
- 2:34over time is, is that, our cellular health is critically important to the
- 2:37health of our hormones, our organs.
- 2:39You know, anytime I'm trying to help anyone heal, I'm looking at the biggest
- 2:42root causes of their health issues, and one of these areas, of the cell
- 2:47has to do with our mitochondria.
- 2:49These are the power plants of our cells.
- 2:51They give our bodies energy, and they literally create energy for every
- 2:54cell, organ, tissue in our body.
- 2:56So for-- even for our thyroid to work properly.
- 2:59And I really discovered this with thyroid patients.
- 3:01I take care of a lot of patients with hypothyroidism, a lot
- 3:03of women with hormone issues.
- 3:05And I found that, if I was able to improve their mitochondrial
- 3:10function and their body could start creating more energy, their thyroid
- 3:14symptoms would go away and improve.
- 3:15so when I'm looking at more advanced medicine today, looking at things
- 3:19like stem cell therapy and ridding our body of senescent cells and more of
- 3:23the advanced, nutritional, therapies, supporting mitochondrial health,
- 3:27supporting our epigenetics, things like MTHFR and methylation, these things are
- 3:33very important to helping people heal.
- 3:35you know, this is something I came across with looking at patients and looking at
- 3:38the greatest root cause, and I really believe if people can heal their cells,
- 3:42well, then they can also heal and fix, whatever issues they have related to organ
- 3:47issues and, and other problems as well
- 3:50David Friedman, BS: Yeah, I love the subtitle, Reversing the Irreversible.
- 3:53That's powerful.
- 3:54Conventional medicine tells patients that chronic conditions and aging are a
- 3:57one-way street, but what does the science say about how much damage can be undone?
- 4:02Josh Axe, DC, DNM, CNS: Well, you know what's pretty amazing is, I
- 4:03mean, I've had people come in with, so many chronic issues where their
- 4:06doctors have told them, "You have to be on this pill the rest of your life
- 4:09and your condition's irreversible."
- 4:11And I've seen people heal and overcome everything from MS, cancer, autoimmune
- 4:17disease, irritable bowel syndrome, a lot of these, you know, more advanced,
- 4:22and kind of newer conditions like, long COVID and Lyme disease and mold
- 4:26toxicity, and seen people completely heal using food-based medicine,
- 4:32mindset medicine, lifestyle medicine.
- 4:34And we have so many advanced therapies now.
- 4:36One, people can change their diet.
- 4:38In some cases, people can also get advanced therapies like hyperbaric
- 4:41oxygen therapy, stem cell therapy, red light therapy, infrared sauna, ozone.
- 4:47A lot of these therapies are incredibly effective at helping people heal,
- 4:53and I discovered this for myself.
- 4:54You know, this was about…
- 4:55I was actually just thinking about this today, about three and a half years ago,
- 4:58I was, dealing with a spinal infection.
- 5:01And I had a doctor tell me, "Josh, listen, you'll never walk normally again."
- 5:05He said, "You're going to-- Your very best case scenario is you're gonna be
- 5:09in chronic pain the rest of your life."
- 5:11And he said, "This could kill you."
- 5:12And I had, I had an infection in my L5 disc and in my bones, and I
- 5:16ended up, believing and spending time, pursuing my faith in God.
- 5:21And also, I heard one story of somebody who reversed this condition I had.
- 5:25Because I, I'd go online and I would not find very many positive things,
- 5:28and I would talk to doctors and they'd say, "Listen, you're likely gonna have
- 5:32your-- have to have your spine fused."
- 5:33And I remember just saying, "You know, I'm not gonna accept that.
- 5:35I'm gonna do everything I can to heal."
- 5:38so I started reading all of these articles about, hey, how
- 5:41do you reverse the irreversible?
- 5:43How do you heal an infection in your disc, in your bone, an abscess by your
- 5:47spinal cord where there's this damage?
- 5:49And so I came across a study on hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
- 5:53I came across studies on consuming certain herbs and doing certain
- 5:57types of IVs like methylene blue and silver and a number of things there.
- 6:01And I just started flooding my body with nutrients, eating perfectly,
- 6:04taking the right supplements.
- 6:05I got in a hyperbaric chamber almost every day for ninety days.
- 6:09And after that period of time, my body started healing.
- 6:12And a year later, I was walking.
- 6:14It actually took me an entire year to walk, but I was walking again.
- 6:17Now it's been about three years since then, and I'm in
- 6:20the best shape of my life.
- 6:21I have no pain in my back whatsoever, didn't have to have surgery.
- 6:25And so part of this was a experience I had about three years ago when I
- 6:29was in great shape and then had this, diagnosis that I thought, quite frankly,
- 6:35I, you know, I might never walk again.
- 6:37But I really believe that God wanted me to heal, and I learned
- 6:42a lot through the process.
- 6:43And so again, that's where I was able to reverse an irreversible condition.
- 6:47My mom was diagnosed with cancer, breast cancer, and later on lung cancer, and
- 6:53that is typically called an irreversible condition, and she was able to reverse it.
- 6:57And then I've helped thousands of patients since then reverse irrev-
- 7:00conditions, using the advanced blood work and therapies and some of the things
- 7:04that I do, the way I practice today
- 7:07David Friedman, BS: Yeah, I love how you turned your mess into your
- 7:09message because you've lived it.
- 7:10You've been there, done that, and now you can help others because look,
- 7:13you made it through the, the smoke.
- 7:15I love how you, you have separated how old are you from how old are your cells?
- 7:21How far apart can those numbers get, and what's the fastest
- 7:23way to kind of close the gap?
- 7:25Josh Axe, DC, DNM, CNS: they can be pretty far away.
- 7:26You know, one of the things I do with blood work analysis, and th- this is
- 7:29something I do at-- I have a virtual practice called The Health Institute.
- 7:32I have a clinic that I have people fly in from all over the country in
- 7:36Nashville, Tennessee, in Franklin called The Longevity Clinic.
- 7:39And in these clinics, we do, again, these-- this really advanced blood work,
- 7:42and I look at people's cellular health.
- 7:45We do most of…
- 7:45You know, most of the markers that other doctors don't run, we run the
- 7:49markers that are the most important.
- 7:51as an example We run a lot of nutrient testing.
- 7:55Like, I look at the nutrients in your cells.
- 7:58In fact, so there's a test called RBC magnesium.
- 8:01You can also do RBC folate, RBC zinc, RBC copper.
- 8:06You can test nutrients to see what they are in your cell, 'cause sometimes
- 8:10we have nutrients like magnesium that are floating in our blood, but
- 8:13they're not getting into the cell where your body actually needs it.
- 8:16Think about this almost like diabetes, right?
- 8:18You need to get sugar inside the cell.
- 8:21If it's in your bloodstream, well, now you have high blood sugar that causes disease.
- 8:25A lot of people have nutrients floating around in their blood.
- 8:27It's not getting into their cells.
- 8:29And a lot of people don't know what their nutrient status is.
- 8:33They're taking vitamins, they're taking supplements, and they don't
- 8:35even know if they're deficient or not or what they're deficient in.
- 8:39So I run a panel looking at all the vitamins, all the minerals, everything
- 8:42they're deficient in, and actually can test for what the levels are in the cell.
- 8:47And then once I have that information, I'm able to better help figure
- 8:51out, s-some of the other things we need to do to help them heal.
- 8:54We also have a lot of o-other advanced markers on cellular health.
- 8:57And one of the things I do is I have a score that's created with
- 9:00my advanced analysis we do with this, with this blood work panel.
- 9:04And it-- Also, one of the predictors is somebody's biological age
- 9:07versus their chronological age.
- 9:09For instance, I'm forty-four years old, chronologically, but biologically,
- 9:14my test that I recently did said I'm thirty-four years old, so
- 9:17ten years younger, than that age.
- 9:19And so typically it could go up to maybe even up to fifteen years if
- 9:22somebody's very, very healthy, in terms of how young their body is.
- 9:27But there's a lot of people that shows older.
- 9:28I had my-- You know, the last blood work, panel I ran for somebody yesterday,
- 9:33when I got the results back, they were about eight years older, right?
- 9:37A lot of inflammation, a lot of plaquing in their arteries.
- 9:40Now, the good news is, is I'm gonna take that person that says
- 9:43their blood work says they're eight years older and probably be able
- 9:46to make them eight years younger.
- 9:48Once I see those markers, I then know exactly, David, exactly what
- 9:53to do to start to reverse the age of those cells and those organs.
- 9:58And this is why we're seeing just so many incredible healing miracles, is that, you
- 10:02I have a saying, it's test, don't guess.
- 10:04Once I actually have the test and I know exactly what to do, well, now
- 10:08we can go and reverse the organ age.
- 10:09And I cover some of this in my new book, Heal Your Cells, what
- 10:12to do even without blood testing.
- 10:14But doing the right testing definitely has great benefits.
- 10:17David Friedman, BS: Yeah, it's like science fiction.
- 10:19This stuff's amazing how you can, get down to the cellular level now.
- 10:22And I love what you say.
- 10:23what makes it into the bloodstream doesn't always benefit our
- 10:26cells where it actually counts.
- 10:27Would that be a reason why people say, "I'm taking calcium.
- 10:30Why are my bones weak?
- 10:31I'm taking this.
- 10:32Why am I…"
- 10:32It could be what they're taking.
- 10:34It, it might be junk, correct?
- 10:35I mean, there's so much junk out there
- 10:37Josh Axe, DC, DNM, CNS: Yeah, absolutely.
- 10:38Absolutely.
- 10:38You know, the most common calcium supplement taken today, calcium
- 10:41carbonate, some of it can end up lodged in your arteries.
- 10:45So you've probably heard of having calcified arteries or hardened arteries.
- 10:49You can have calcium get deposited in the plaque there.
- 10:53And the other thing is, in order for calcium to work properly, your
- 10:56body has to have the proper levels of magnesium and vitamin D, and even
- 11:01certain other nutrients are important as well, like K2 and phosphorus.
- 11:04and here's an example too, David.
- 11:05If somebody's very deficient in magnesium, they can be taking calcium supplements,
- 11:10and then their body can't utilize it.
- 11:12So either your body just, you know, you urinate it out, or
- 11:16it can actually cause harm.
- 11:17In fact, there are studies showing if people are taking synthetic calcium
- 11:20supplements, it can increase their risk of a cardiovascular event,
- 11:24like a stroke or a heart attack.
- 11:26So this is why it's important to know your levels, because again, there's
- 11:30a lot of people who are taking these isolated supplements, and they're
- 11:33actually doing more harm than good
- 11:34David Friedman, BS: Exactly.
- 11:35What about these biohacking supplements?
- 11:37You see all the TikTok superstars promising age the body backwards.
- 11:41What supplements, if any, earn the Dr.
- 11:44Axe seal of approval when it comes to healing at that cellular
- 11:47level and aging backwards?
- 11:48Josh Axe, DC, DNM, CNS: so I would say, you know, when I'm, when I'm looking at
- 11:50the studies currently, the first thing to remember is this: There are supplements,
- 11:53but the first thing is food, right?
- 11:55So, eat your wild-caught meat like salmon.
- 11:58Do a lot of fruits, do a lot of vegetables, especially things
- 12:02like pomegranate and berries.
- 12:03These foods are going to help you reverse your age more than anything.
- 12:08Then staying physically active, especially walking, but also weight training.
- 12:12So just moving regularly is really important, keeping stress low.
- 12:15Then when it comes to supplements, the ones that I see make the biggest
- 12:18difference are the ones that are best for you, that are most personalized.
- 12:22I am a huge believer in personalized medicine, and here's the reality, Dr.
- 12:26David.
- 12:26It is gonna be different for everybody, so I wanna say that clearly.
- 12:30This is why I do all of this advanced blood work is 'cause when
- 12:33I do the testing, then I know.
- 12:35Now Generally though, let me give the answer and answer this more directly.
- 12:39I see for a lot of people reversing their cellular age.
- 12:44One of the great ways to do that is reduce oxidative stress, and
- 12:48increasing your levels of glutathione is incredibly helpful for this.
- 12:52Glutathione is your body's master antioxidant, so it
- 12:54protects your cells from aging.
- 12:57It also is great for supporting liver detoxification.
- 13:00people can go and get glutathione IVs at certain IV places,
- 13:03which can be beneficial.
- 13:05But there's a supplement called N-acetylcysteine, that's
- 13:09the precursor to glutathione.
- 13:10That is one of my favorites.
- 13:12In addition, taking an NAD+ supplement like NMN or NR, those give your cells
- 13:19what they need, your mitochondria, for producing more cellular energy,
- 13:23which supports organ function.
- 13:25So I would say N-acetylcysteine, NMN, omega-3 fatty acids are very important
- 13:30for the health of the cell membrane, so that would be very high on the list.
- 13:34I would say those are probably my top three.
- 13:37In addition, just getting more antioxidants.
- 13:39You can get those as powders, whether it's resveratrol or
- 13:44schisandra or acai, or acai berry.
- 13:45Getting more of these antioxidants is helpful as well.
- 13:48But outside of those, and specifically those top three I mentioned, I
- 13:51think it's very personalized.
- 13:53For some people, it might be a probiotic.
- 13:55And by the way, this is something I cover in the new book, Heal Your
- 13:58Cells, I go through In the back of the book, there's protocols for what
- 14:04supplements and foods help reverse organ age the most in certain organs.
- 14:10'Cause there's an amazing study out of Stanford that came out, and it
- 14:14said most people have one organ aging more quickly than their other organs.
- 14:20You know, and, and I think about my father-in-law with this.
- 14:23I had a father-in-law that passed away a few years ago, and he
- 14:27was my closest friend, David.
- 14:28He was an amazing mentor, amazing, godly man.
- 14:31and he died of a heart attack.
- 14:33he hadn't had any, any of these advanced tests done.
- 14:36And, I look at his body.
- 14:37He was going to gym every day.
- 14:39He was physically active.
- 14:40You looked at his entire body, he was healthy, except for his heart was
- 14:43aging faster than the rest of his body.
- 14:46And so in the book, I really go through how do you reverse age of your heart
- 14:51and your brain and your hormones?
- 14:54Big for men and women But I think that's an important thing to recognize.
- 14:58Most people's-- Most people don't have their entire body aging too quickly.
- 15:01Some do if inflammation's very high, but most people have one organ that's
- 15:06aging too quickly, and it's really that organ they should focus on healing.
- 15:09David Friedman, BS: What are people hearing you and, they're just
- 15:11like putting this wall up because they feel doomed by their DNA?
- 15:15If heart disease runs in their family, they assume it's inevitable.
- 15:18Parents died at their-- in their 60s, they figure they're
- 15:20gonna won't make it past that.
- 15:22Is genetics really the ter-determining factor in how our health plays
- 15:25out, or is it irrelevant?
- 15:27Josh Axe, DC, DNM, CNS: I would say generally it's about 95 to 5%.
- 15:3195% is lifestyle, 5% is genetic.
- 15:33Now listen, genetics matter.
- 15:34And by the way, these are tests I run for in my office, at my clinic.
- 15:37For instance, I look at a marker for heart health called LPA.
- 15:41and this LPA, if you have it, your risk of a cardiovascular event like a
- 15:46heart attack or stroke is much higher.
- 15:48However, if we can keep your levels lower of something called apoB, then
- 15:54LPA really never gets turned on.
- 15:56It's never an issue.
- 15:57It's never, won't express those genes that your parents had.
- 16:01that's where, for instance, I'll have them do a lot of omega-3s.
- 16:04I'll have them get more garlic in their diet.
- 16:07I'll have them do more, soluble fiber from things like apples
- 16:10and pomegranates and blueberries.
- 16:12So there are actually very specific foods that can help offset any
- 16:17genetic, predisposition somebody has.
- 16:19The same-- I look at my mom who had breast cancer and has some of those genes.
- 16:23Well, my mom hasn't had breast cancer on her other breast.
- 16:26My mom is in her 70s today, incredibly healthy, because she
- 16:30had estrogen-based breast cancer.
- 16:32Well, now I have her eating a lot of cruciferous vegetables
- 16:36like broccoli and cauliflower.
- 16:38I have her doing-- taking certain sup-supplements like sulforaphane, which
- 16:42actually helps fight and kill cancer and helps offset any of those genetic issues.
- 16:48And so that's the great thing is I can actually test for and look at what
- 16:50genetic issues there are, and then we're able to take the exact things
- 16:55so those genes are never expressed.
- 16:57Because genes are like a light switch.
- 16:58They have to be turned on.
- 17:00And the good news is, Dr.
- 17:01David, you can also turn those off using food-based medicine
- 17:05David Friedman, BS: I love it.
- 17:06So no excuses, folks.
- 17:07You heard that.
- 17:07Don't blame, you know, your parents on you.
- 17:09and if you're overweight, don't blame your genes on why
- 17:11you can't fit into your jeans.
- 17:13people think that's related to great-grandmas and if you look in the
- 17:161800s and 1900s, people were thin.
- 17:19We can't blame our great-grandma if she was thin if we're overweight, right?
- 17:22Josh Axe, DC, DNM, CNS: Oh yeah, agreed
- 17:24David Friedman, BS: Now you're a proponent of fasting, but you go deeper than most.
- 17:26You match the type of fast to a person's individual needs.
- 17:30How does somebody know which strategy's right for them, and,
- 17:32and should everybody be fasting?
- 17:34Josh Axe, DC, DNM, CNS: Well, again, I get into this in the book, and by the way, I
- 17:36don't believe everybody should be fasting.
- 17:38In fact, I believe probably less than half of people should be fasting.
- 17:42There are a lot of different forms of fasting.
- 17:44You know, I think one, one of the most beneficial forms of fasting is doing
- 17:47it like, the early church fathers did in Christianity, and that's taking
- 17:51one day a week, either a Wednesday or a Friday, skipping breakfast
- 17:54and lunch, and just eating dinner.
- 17:56and then you're eating normally the rest of the week.
- 17:58So that's something that the early church did in honoring God with their bodies.
- 18:01Sometimes there's seasonal fast.
- 18:02Some people like intermittent fasting.
- 18:04I've found generally that men, their body types tend to do
- 18:08better with fasting than women.
- 18:10Part of it has to do with women's hormones and the constant fluctuations
- 18:14up and down where men don't have that.
- 18:17If somebody also has low mitochondrial function and they're weak or low
- 18:21body temperature, it's typically better that they don't fast.
- 18:24So women with hypothyroidism, somebody with chronic fatigue syndrome, somebody
- 18:28fighting a chronic infection, those issues typically are not fasting is not ideal.
- 18:34However, somebody with cancer, somebody with inflammatory bowel disease, somebody
- 18:38who needs to lose a lot of weight but doesn't have hormone-based issues, those
- 18:42people tend to do better with fasting.
- 18:44So it really is very what I would call bio-individual.
- 18:48but, I think for fasting is having a doctor guide you on it or, reading my book
- 18:53and going through, kind of showing you, "Hey, here's what to do here for fasting,"
- 18:57I think is, is a good way to go about it.
- 18:59But again, I think here's the general principle: If you really need very
- 19:02strong cleansing and you need to lose weight, and there's a lot of
- 19:05inflammation and digestive issues, fasting can benefit you, also for cancer.
- 19:09However, if your body is weak, okay?
- 19:12Your body's cold, it's weak, you typically do not want to do fasting in that state
- 19:16because it will weaken your body more
- 19:18David Friedman, BS: I love that.
- 19:18It's not my way or the highway.
- 19:20One, solution isn't for everybody.
- 19:22I love that.
- 19:22That's a neat concept.
- 19:23last thing I wanna cover is y- were here last time we talked about,
- 19:26your book, Think This, Not That.
- 19:28How much does mindset affect us at a cellular level?
- 19:31Is something positive happening biologically when somebody
- 19:34prays or practices gratitude?
- 19:36Josh Axe, DC, DNM, CNS: Absolutely.
- 19:37You know, one of my biggest lessons in practice, Dr.
- 19:39David, is that, mindset is medicine.
- 19:42If you are thinking negative thoughts, here's a big one.
- 19:45If you've had childhood trauma, something happened when you were younger, and you
- 19:48haven't fully dealt with that and been able to let it go and forgive and move
- 19:52on, that will continue to act almost like a parasite, almost like a cancer cell
- 19:56in your body, increasing your risk of, nearly every condition you can imagine.
- 20:01And so it's very important that you think about, "Okay, do I have anger?
- 20:05Do I have anxiousness?
- 20:06Do I worry?
- 20:07Do I have fear?"
- 20:08And going and combating that directly, typically using the
- 20:11Bible as a form of medicine.
- 20:13there's a hormone called cortisol, which is the body's master hormone,
- 20:16which tends to be the lead domino.
- 20:18It's either that one or insulin.
- 20:20And cortisol, when that goes high, insulin goes high, then estrogen can go high.
- 20:25Then for men, testosterone will drop.
- 20:27And so it's really important that you do everything you
- 20:30can to balance out cortisol.
- 20:34And cortisol rises when your body gets in a fight or flight state.
- 20:37And so if you're worrying, if you're anxious, if you're fearful, if you
- 20:41have any of those emotions pop up, if you get angry, that is when your
- 20:45body goes in fight or flight state.
- 20:47Cortisol is released, which will then affect every cell
- 20:51in your body, making it sick.
- 20:53And it's not, you know, being in that way on occasion is fine.
- 20:56Your body can handle that.
- 20:57But if you're living in this heightened state constantly, it's one of the
- 21:00things we know there's research on this.
- 21:01High cortisol causes your body to age more quickly.
- 21:05And so you really wanna have balanced cortisol.
- 21:07So really spending time working on your mental and spiritual health, spending time
- 21:13in prayer, meditation, reading scripture that's sort of comforting and inspiring.
- 21:19These are things very practically that can help you lower cortisol, and that will
- 21:25help bring your body back into balance.
- 21:26But really high cortisol is a lead driver of autoimmune disease, digestive issues,
- 21:31heart disease like high blood pressure.
- 21:34And so if you-- we can lower cortisol through spiritual mindset and
- 21:40mental practices, it is a really, really powerful form of medicine.
- 21:43In fact, one of the things I get to in the book in one of the later
- 21:46chapters is I go through exactly how to heal your mind and spirit.
- 21:50And so I go through that practice of how do, how do you take the captive?
- 21:54How do you even discover what your root is, that past memory that's
- 21:58still bothering you today or causing you to be in fight or flight?
- 22:02And there are advanced forms of medicine for this, ancient Chinese medicine,
- 22:06German new medicine, of course, the Bible.
- 22:09And I take all of those different forms of medicine and psychology and walk
- 22:12through in one of those later chapters of exactly how to heal your mind and spirit.
- 22:16David Friedman, BS: Fantastic.
- 22:17Great advice.
- 22:17In the 30 seconds we have left, anything else you'd like to leave with the
- 22:20listeners that we didn't cover today?
- 22:22Josh Axe, DC, DNM, CNS: one I would just say, yeah, thanks
- 22:23so much for having me on.
- 22:25You know, I think I would just say that for so many people today, that
- 22:28if you want to heal-- I had somebody ask me this recently, "Hey, what's the
- 22:31biggest thing people need to heal?"
- 22:33People need a protocol.
- 22:35People need a plan.
- 22:36even whether your goal is longevity or it's lowering blood pressure
- 22:40or reversing hypothyroidism or boosting testosterone, whatever your
- 22:44goal is, you wanna put together a comprehensive plan that includes your
- 22:48diet, your supplements, any other lifestyle things you need to improve.
- 22:52And that's something that my book does, Heal Your Cells.
- 22:55Again, Heal Your Cells, and you can find that on amazon.com
- 22:59and bookstores nationwide.
- 23:00But I have protocols in the back of the book that walk people through
- 23:03exactly how to start to reverse organ age, reverse all of these diseases,
- 23:09so the protocols are in the book.
- 23:10But I would say that's, something people need.
- 23:12This is how my mom reversed her cancer, is she had a protocol, she
- 23:16followed it di-diligently, and she was able to reverse the irreversible
- 23:20David Friedman, BS: Fantastic, Amber.
