- 1:31Insert theme song here. This is the Daily Starcast. I give you the news and maybe a laugh.
- 1:36I'm Lindsay Vernick, and today is October 21st, 2026.

- 2:07very slow pace but this pod is growing so thank you for everyone who listens
- 2:14and if you actually have shared this thank you so much.
- 2:17But, like, seriously, mom, like, can you please share this with some more of
- 2:20your friends? Thanks. Love you.
- 2:22I'm kidding. But, like, not really. So, in real news, Dylan Sprouse recently
- 2:29went down the Ancestry rabbit hole and found out that his family tree is, like,
- 2:34pretty kind of connected more than, like, anyone ever realized.
- 2:39Like his parents family had already kind of like crossed paths and like kind
- 2:44of already intertwined before his parents got together and i guess even realized,
- 2:49like his family was already kind of intertwined in the 1800s so,
- 2:56there's kind of a lot of incest going on in that family,
- 3:00and apparently there are seven sets of twins across four generations of the
- 3:05spouses like crazy, right?
- 3:07But when Dylan called his brother Cole to tell him about what he found out,
- 3:12Cole was like, I don't want to hear it. This is fucking creepy,
- 3:15dude. Like, I'm better off not knowing. I mean, I don't blame him.
- 3:19Like, if any of us found out that our family history had all these plot twists,
- 3:25I'd be less interested in my ancestors and more interested in whether the DNA
- 3:29task came with a therapist.
- 3:32So it turns out Christina Applegate doesn't have MS.
- 3:36Like after five years, she just found out that she was misdiagnosed.
- 3:41She's been dealing with severe pain like being numb so many mobility issues,
- 3:48and it's affected her life like unbelievably but then her doctor was like you
- 3:53don't have ms but she has all the symptoms i'm ms and the doctor was like well
- 3:59you have all the symptoms but like i don't know what you have,
- 4:02i feel like that's me every time i go to the doctor,
- 4:05and christina's like so embarrassed about this like she's so sweet i feel so bad,
- 4:10she feels like she let people down because she's been an advocate for ms which
- 4:15is so crazy but the thing is though like she really did believe and she's all
- 4:19the symptoms of ms she was diagnosed with ms,
- 4:22so like she has nothing to really feel that bad about but of course that's like,
- 4:27so embarrassing and like of course you would feel bad about that as any actual
- 4:31good person would so now the doctors are trying to figure out what actually is going on with her,
- 4:37like I don't I don't understand if it's not MS then like what is it and also
- 4:41how is it not MS if you have all the symptoms,
- 4:44it makes no sense but also like I did find out that I have ADHD and a bunch
- 4:50of other disorders that I've been dealing with my whole life that have gone
- 4:53undiagnosed and untreated
- 4:56like that doesn't help at all either so like I feel for the girl.
- 5:00Okay, Trump wants to replace the White House press briefing room with a swimming pool.
- 5:08Yeah, like, let's just get rid of the press briefings and, like,
- 5:11let's just all go swimming, right?
- 5:13But the whole ironic part about this is that actually where the press briefing
- 5:18room is, where he wants to put the swimming pool, is where a swimming pool already was.
- 5:23Like, Roosevelt had one there in 1933 for physical therapy, and Nixon covered
- 5:30it up in 1970 to make room for the press.
- 5:34So, like, there was a pool there, but, like, they did away with it,
- 5:38so there's no room for the press. But now Trump doesn't want the press anymore
- 5:42because he hates them all, so he's like, let's get rid of it and,
- 5:44like, let's just go swimming again.
- 5:47I literally wouldn't be surprised if Trump just, like, puts on a yellow helmet
- 5:51and just starts, like, trying to hammer it away himself because he,
- 5:55like, doesn't want to answer any more questions and, like, clearly cannot keep
- 6:00a press secretary for the life of him.
- 6:02But, like, also, I don't think he understands that your press secretary doesn't
- 6:06have to be just, like, a pretty white blonde girl. Like, it could be a guy maybe, too.
- 6:11It could be a black man. It could literally be anybody, Trump.
- 6:13Like, it doesn't have to be a freaking pretty blonde girl.
- 6:17Okay, this is getting a little unhinged. In Lindsay life, okay,
- 6:21yesterday I tried the Pilates reformer for the first time.
- 6:25It was like 3 30 in the afternoon in Soho and I was like, what am I doing with my life?
- 6:32Like I am literally in a Pilates class in the middle of the week in the middle
- 6:36of the day on a reformer. Like I need to get a job.
- 6:40But anyway, I was literally surrounded by like so many little skinny girls wearing
- 6:45like aloe and lulu and it was like everyone was so good at it too okay if you've
- 6:51never done the reformer let me explain it to you,
- 6:54i actually don't even know how to explain it to you it's like the slide it's
- 6:58like a slider and like goes back and forth and there's all these like contraptions,
- 7:03but if you like sit on the slider you'll like fly one way or like fly the other
- 7:09way and in the beginning these girls like the girls all next to me they knew
- 7:13what the fuck they were doing I had no idea what I'm doing,
- 7:17they're like very coordinated like moving the slider back and forth I jump on
- 7:22the slider it flies me like all the way to the back and I scream and I was like.
- 7:28And all the girls in their little Lululemon outfits, like, look at me like I'm psycho.
- 7:32And I'm like, isn't this supposed to be fun? If we're not having fun in Pilates,
- 7:37and what are we, if we're not having fun in Pilates at 3.30 on a Tuesday,
- 7:42then, like, literally, guys, like, what are we doing?
- 7:44Anyways, so it was this whole really intense experience. It's very,
- 7:48very hard. You're, like, literally sliding around. You're using all these,
- 7:52like, contraption things and pulling them up.
- 7:55And like you have to like put your feet in some things and you're just like
- 8:00other things are just flying it's it's really crazy.
- 8:03Things I'm thinking about how I am literally the only girl in this world who
- 8:09gets so stressed about shopping like literally
- 8:14I spent the afternoon in Soho yesterday because I had some time to kill before
- 8:18my 3 30 Pilates class because I literally need a job,
- 8:22and I was like oh like I'll just like walk around into stores it was such a
- 8:27stressful experience like I was like oh my god like I I'll walk around Bloomingdale's
- 8:32and then like I just the idea of having to like go into a dressing room and like,
- 8:37take off my clothes to then put on new clothes and then take off the new clothes
- 8:41to put on other new clothes and then put my old clothes back on,
- 8:45all just to not even know if I want these new clothes or anymore just stresses
- 8:49me out and even just stressing me out talks about this and then,
- 8:53I was like you know what like also I don't feel like spending like a gazillion
- 8:56dollars in Bloomingdale's let me try TJ Maxx I walked to see TJ Maxx and then
- 9:01go downstairs where all the clothes are
- 9:02god it was like a freaking horror show in there the amount of like racks of
- 9:07clothes that they have lined up like you have to,
- 9:10be ready to go for like a needle in a haystack and I was like I'm not I don't
- 9:14even want to go shopping to begin with.
- 9:17So I get down to the bottom of the escalator. I am so stressed.
- 9:22And I look at all these clothes and I'm like horrified. And I just turn around
- 9:26and I go right back up. And I was like, you know, I told myself,
- 9:29you don't have to go into any more stores for the rest of the day.
- 9:34It was like a really stressful day. Cooking tip of the day. If you buy food
- 9:39to cook, you have to cook it before it expires.
- 9:42And the more food that you buy, the more expiration dates you have to check.
- 9:47Feedback, comments, questions, and ace Jewish boy looking for a date,
- 9:50email me at lindsay at thedailycircus.com.
- 9:52I hope you enjoyed that one today. I'm like trying to be a little bit more go
- 9:57with the flow and laugh scripty and maybe I guess that means being a little bit more chaotic.
- 10:03So thank you so much for listening. Let me know if you have any feedback and
- 10:07I will talk to you guys tomorrow.
