- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here Now if you've ever had the.
- 0:42Experience of being. In a relationship where you were
- 0:45giving a lot more than you were getting back, it was very one
- 0:49sided, or perhaps even worse, it was abusive that you were on the
- 0:53receiving end of verbal, emotional, psychological or even
- 0:58physical abuse. You might resonate with this
- 1:01particular hypnosis session. It was created for a.
- 1:05Client that. Because their parents were in a
- 1:08very abusive relationship, The father being abusive to the
- 1:11mother, that's what they. Saw growing up.
- 1:15And to use the words of the. Client, they felt.
- 1:17That they were living their mother's life and they wanted to
- 1:21break that generational cycle so it didn't pass down to their
- 1:26daughter in another generation. And they had four different
- 1:31relationships that followed a similar pattern.
- 1:34The people were different, but the dynamics were very similar.
- 1:37And what it came down to was a feeling of low self worth.
- 1:43That they weren't worthy of a better relationship.
- 1:47And more importantly, if they try to leave one of these
- 1:51relationships, they would feel a really intense cutting pain
- 1:55right there in the chest. And you'll hear the analogy that
- 1:58I used to. Deal with that.
- 2:01But at its core, there is a fundamental belief, which I
- 2:04think is so important. Good people experience bad
- 2:08things all the time. This idea that you know if
- 2:12you're good and good things happen to you.
- 2:14This comic idea, I wish it was true.
- 2:16It should be true. It isn't.
- 2:19And the belief that I have is that you don't get what you
- 2:22deserve. You get what you tolerate.
- 2:24Now, tolerating means that you have to have.
- 2:27Either boundaries to protect. Or consequences if those
- 2:31boundaries are violated. And what this client knew is
- 2:35that they were tolerating things that they would not like to see
- 2:40happening into those people that they love.
- 2:43And the only reason they were doing that is because over time,
- 2:47their confidence. Their self.
- 2:49Worth their self esteem had been eroded, so they were now
- 2:53accepting the crumbs, the scraps, rather than what they
- 2:58really deserved. And you'll hear an analogy that
- 3:02I use. About hunger just.
- 3:04Imagine if you are absolutely starving.
- 3:07You might accept rotting food, dirty food.
- 3:12You know. Even things that aren't healthy
- 3:15at all, you might accept that if you were on the brink of
- 3:17starvation. If you were well fed and
- 3:20healthy, you would not accept those same things.
- 3:24That also applies to relationship.
- 3:27If you are filled with high confidence, high self esteem and
- 3:30self love, huge. Amounts of self respect.
- 3:33If someone treats you badly, you do not tolerate it at all.
- 3:37You make a hard line and if they don't apologize or change their
- 3:41behaviors, you're out of there. It's nice and simple, but if you
- 3:44don't have that self respect, that self love, that self esteem
- 3:49and confidence, you might accept that because there might be a
- 3:54tiny bit of good things that are in there.
- 3:58And sometimes very caring, giving people are normally
- 4:03described as empaths, and they tend to attract quite often
- 4:06people with narcissistic tendencies.
- 4:09Narcissists are very good at manipulating emotions in the
- 4:13early stages of a relationship. They can make you feel.
- 4:16Like the most important. Person on the planet, but that
- 4:19doesn't last very long, and when the mask slips, what you're left
- 4:22with is someone that can be abusive.
- 4:25That can gaslight. That can do all these kind of
- 4:27things and it's designed to chisel away at yourself worth so
- 4:31you accept more and more and more and this was the kind of
- 4:34things happening with this client.
- 4:35So if you can resonate with any of these ideas, you might get
- 4:39some value from this session. Please be aware though that it
- 4:42was created for an individual. Some of the suggestions would
- 4:45have been ideal for this particular client and not quite
- 4:48right for you because it's always done for the clients that
- 4:52I'm working with. The audience is just hopefully a
- 4:55positive side effect of me doing something that's useful for the
- 4:58original client. So if you do like the idea of
- 5:01something bespoke and tailored to you and your circumstances,
- 5:05there will be a link in the description, but also on my
- 5:08website, adamcox.co.uk and you can book a free consultation
- 5:12call with me over Zoom, we'll chat and who knows, we might end
- 5:15up working together, me as your hypnotherapist rather than a guy
- 5:19that you listen to on a podcast or YouTube.
- 5:22But now though. Find a.
- 5:23Quiet, comfortable place where you're not going to be
- 5:26distracted or disturbed because you might get some value from
- 5:28this session. So relax and enjoy the session.
- 6:08Take a deep breath in and as you breathe in, breathe in a feeling
- 6:20of calm relaxation going in through your nose, filling your
- 6:27lungs. And as you exhale, feel a
- 6:34sensation of release, letting go of any tension, any stress, any
- 6:45worries. And as you breathe in and
- 6:49breathe out, just feel your eyelids getting heavier and
- 6:54heavier. Just imagine your jaw loosening
- 7:02and just focus. Focus immediately behind your
- 7:08eyeballs, creating a sense of temporary strain.
- 7:15And on the next inward breath, intensify that sensation behind
- 7:22your eyes. And then as you exhale, just
- 7:26release it all and just feel your eyes completely relaxed.
- 7:32That's in almost feel like your eyelids are so heavy that even
- 7:38if you try to open them they would just feel so heavy, feel
- 7:45so relaxed. And I want you to breathe in a
- 7:51colour that your unconscious mind links to the idea of
- 7:59worthiness. Some people think of worthiness
- 8:04as just self worth. Whatever colour comes to mind
- 8:12that represents that self worth and worthiness is exactly the
- 8:17colour it should be. And imagine breathing in that
- 8:22colour of worthiness. And as you exhale, I want you to
- 8:31breathe out any feelings of shame, regret, or dependency.
- 8:41Imagine it leaving your body as something dark grey, like a
- 8:45shadow. When you fully exhale, then
- 8:51breathe in more of that worthiness.
- 8:55Each breath is like a transfusion, giving you
- 9:00emotionally what you need and exhaling all of those unpleasant
- 9:08emotions that tend to happen when you stop respecting
- 9:15yourself. That's it.
- 9:21Fear it being released because it was never yours.
- 9:30Some people benefit. They benefit by getting more of
- 9:36what they want. If they can make someone else
- 9:41reduce their self worth. That's how people get broken.
- 9:50That's how people get manipulated.
- 9:57I want you to get a feeling manipulation is thousands of
- 10:04years old. I want you to get a feeling that
- 10:14if you wanted someone else to do something that benefited you,
- 10:21then it makes sense for them to question whether their life has
- 10:24any value at all. And how do you do that?
- 10:31You see what you get away with and the more they tolerate the
- 10:37lower their self worth is until it's so low that you can do
- 10:42anything. I want you to consider low self
- 10:49worth like someone starving almost dying of hunger.
- 11:01What food would someone eat if they were starving?
- 11:11They might eat food that is rotten.
- 11:16They might eat food that is infected with parasites like
- 11:22worms or maggots. They might eat something
- 11:31infected or putrid. Because if someone is such in
- 11:38need of eating anything, their standards are low.
- 11:45But imagine if someone had had healthy meals consistently.
- 11:54They would not tolerate the scraps, the rotten food.
- 12:02They simply wouldn't entertain the idea.
- 12:09As you breathe in and breathe out, entertain a thought that if
- 12:17you've been starved of real respect, real love, real
- 12:24consideration, maybe it would increase the probability that
- 12:34you would settle for the scraps. If your unconscious agrees, let
- 12:39me know by nodding your head. And I have a feeling there is a
- 12:47strong, powerful part within you that is no longer willing to
- 12:54tolerate to be second best, to be the Plan B or the Plan C, to
- 13:02be the afterthought. I think there's a part within
- 13:08you that knows, knows you are worthy, knows you are valuable,
- 13:17knows knows that if in order to attract the relationship that
- 13:27you desire, you must first have that same relationship with
- 13:32yourself. That without self respect you
- 13:39will tolerate no respect, and without self love you would
- 13:52accept something that isn't love, but it's just a poor
- 13:57quality substitute. Continue to breathe in that
- 14:03feeling of worthiness and keep exhaling.
- 14:07Any shame, any frustrations, any resentment.
- 14:15That's it. Keep it leaving your body and
- 14:18then breathe in more of that worthiness.
- 14:21The deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you feel, and the more
- 14:26relaxed you feel, the deeper you breathe.
- 14:30As your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 14:32And I want you to imagine a beautiful garden.
- 14:38Not just any garden, a paradise garden.
- 14:42I want you to see tropical flowers.
- 14:47I want you to see wonderful trees bearing fruit.
- 14:52And there in the middle of the garden is a rose Bush.
- 14:58Beautiful, delicate roses, petals of different colours like
- 15:05white, red, pink and purple. I don't want you to notice
- 15:14something that you always knew logically but didn't realise why
- 15:23they were there. Every stem on a rose has thorns
- 15:33because without the thorns, the parasites of the garden would
- 15:41consume the petals. But for something delicate and
- 15:47beautiful, it needs something to protect it.
- 15:56I want you to feel that in your past, you were the Rose, but
- 15:59without the thorns. I want you to feel that in your
- 16:04past, by being a giver, A caretaker, a pleaser, you were
- 16:17putting the needs of others before your own.
- 16:22And in doing so, month by month, year by year, yourself worth was
- 16:32chipped away brick by brick until there was a version of you
- 16:44that would tolerate something that you never thought you
- 16:48would. But I want you to feel that now
- 16:54yourself worth is recharging. I want you to feel that you are
- 16:59a rose with sharp thorns. These thorns are there to
- 17:06protect, to protect yourself, worth yourself respect, to
- 17:14ensure you arrive at a higher standard and.
- 17:20Stay there. This version of you is no longer
- 17:28willing to accept the scraps. It's either a delicious meal or
- 17:36nothing at all. If you're unconscious can
- 17:41connect with these themes and metaphors, let me know by
- 17:47nodding your head. That's it, feel, feel that you
- 17:57have been a wilted rose with no thorns and then imagine it
- 18:03changing. Beautiful, elegant, strong and
- 18:12protected. I want you to get a feeling that
- 18:20every decision you make, it becomes a choice, a vote as to
- 18:29which version of you you will become and remain.
- 18:37And every time you decide to give yourself respect, I want
- 18:48you to feel that is who you become.
- 18:54And every time you make a decision that is an indication
- 19:01of low worthiness or low respect, you become more like
- 19:08that person. Not your intentions, but your
- 19:13actions, your decisions, what you actually do.
- 19:22You get what you tolerate, not what you deserve.
- 19:28You already know you deserve love, connection, respect,
- 19:35consideration. You haven't been getting it.
- 19:40Not because you don't deserve it, but because you were willing
- 19:44to tolerate all of those things with substitutes or opposites.
- 19:55And I want you to feel that you're reaching that point.
- 20:00The straw that breaks the camel's back.
- 20:04Enough is enough. No more.
- 20:09You're done. But let's first go back in time.
- 20:14I want you to go back to an early childhood memory.
- 20:21Of seeing what your mother tolerated that led to her losing
- 20:29more of who she really was. There was a time when she was
- 20:37strong, full of self love and self respect, but it got eroded
- 20:48every time she forgave the unforgivable, every time she
- 20:54looked the other way, every time she accepted something that was
- 21:06not justified until there was nothing left of her.
- 21:16And I want you to imagine knowing everything you know
- 21:22about your mother and going back in time, maybe to the very
- 21:28beginning of that relationship. I want you to imagine a version
- 21:34of you filled with self love, self respect, high standards,
- 21:42and imagine what it would be like to be your mother for a day
- 21:48early on in that relationship, perhaps before you were born.
- 21:55She would have to be strong. She would have to refuse to
- 22:01accept or tolerate disrespect, abuse, lies or manipulation.
- 22:11And if you could imagine what it would be like to have those
- 22:15qualities in you being her, let me know by nodding your head.
- 22:27And I want you to get a feeling that there is only two options.
- 22:33To change the dynamics so that that love and respect is there,
- 22:40or to walk away from a relationship where it's no
- 22:45longer possible and maybe never was.
- 22:51So as you breathe in and breathe out, feel, feel that sense that
- 22:59enough is enough. And I want you to imagine seeing
- 23:08your daughter 20 years from now, at your age.
- 23:16I want you to imagine witnessing her tolerating something that
- 23:21you expect and accept but you would never want for her.
- 23:31And allow that to feel sad, angry, frustrated.
- 23:39Whenever emotions come up, allow them.
- 23:43This is your leverage and if you can see your daughter at the age
- 23:51where you are now tolerating something you would never want
- 23:56her to tolerate, let me know by nodding your head.
- 24:01And I want you to get a feeling that you can change this future
- 24:06by changing yourself now, because enough is enough.
- 24:16Imagine yourself back in that beautiful garden.
- 24:18And I want you to imagine that when you were a child, watching
- 24:27all of that abuse from your father to your mother when you
- 24:32were young, a small bit of metal got launched in your chest.
- 24:41Think of it as shrapnel. And you learned something.
- 24:49You learned that something could be dramatic, even exciting, but
- 24:55not necessarily love, not necessarily respect.
- 24:58I want you to get a feeling then.
- 25:05Those early role models taught you not the way, just a way.
- 25:11And that way is not the only way.
- 25:15And every time you thought about leaving something toxic or
- 25:19abusive, you felt that pain in your chest.
- 25:23Not because it was the right relationship, but because it
- 25:28meant that you had to hold yourself to a higher standard.
- 25:36I want you to imagine that you have now 2 choices.
- 25:41You can spend the rest of your life with this dependency on
- 25:49living on the scraps, the emotional leftovers, or you can
- 26:00remove this shrapnel from your chest and you can give yourself
- 26:10the love, the respect that you will always do.
- 26:19Because when you fill your own cup, when you've got so much
- 26:23self love and so much self respect, so much time and
- 26:28attention for yourself, you don't need it from others.
- 26:34You don't need a project to fix, someone to mend.
- 26:40You want a partnership, harmony, something fulfilling.
- 26:49What if you've got what you tolerated for so long that it is
- 26:52now time to get what you truly deserve, love, connection and
- 26:58happiness? But in doing so, you need to
- 27:04remove that shrapnel there in your chest.
- 27:06And I want you to imagine ending something toxic, and by ending
- 27:14it, you finally remove that shrapnel from your chest.
- 27:21And maybe it's through a message, maybe a voicemail,
- 27:26maybe something not seeking more effort.
- 27:34Definitive, followed by blocked numbers, drawing a line in the
- 27:42sand that anything other than what you truly desire is no
- 27:50longer desirable. And I want you to imagine
- 27:58yourself ending that abusive, toxic relationship in a
- 28:04definitive way. And as you imagine doing that,
- 28:08feel like that sharp metal is being extracted from your chest.
- 28:16That the pain doesn't mean you have to go back.
- 28:21The pain is a signal that you're doing what needs to be done to
- 28:27never go back. Do this in your mind 1st and
- 28:33then when you do it in reality, even if that feeling comes back,
- 28:38it's just. Evidence that you.
- 28:41Are extracting something that has been contributing to your
- 28:45low self worth and when you could imagine ending it
- 28:50definitively and feeling that pain in your chest alleviate not
- 28:58through validation but through self respect for you.
- 29:02Let me know by nodding your head.
- 29:06That's it. You are one definitive decision
- 29:15away from freedom. But that's not the end of the
- 29:20journey, that's the beginning of the journey.
- 29:24The journey of self love and self respect of high standards
- 29:32want you to imagine what that future looks like.
- 29:40What kind of relationships do you have?
- 29:46What kind of person do you attract when you change?
- 29:52The empath and the narcissist is like a moth to a flame, a key to
- 30:01a lock. When you become the evolved
- 30:07empath, you no longer attract the narcissist.
- 30:15When you heal yourself, you attract those that are equally
- 30:22healed. I want you to get a feeling that
- 30:30when you change, who you attract also changes.
- 30:37And I want you to imagine that future, a future where you're
- 30:42discerning but also open, but you know the red flags and you
- 30:53know when to walk away. Not through manipulation, not
- 30:59through game playing, but because anything less than what
- 31:03you truly deserve, you don't want it.
- 31:08And if you could imagine that future, the future where you're
- 31:13finally getting the love, recognition and value that
- 31:19you've always deserved, let me know by nodding your head.
- 31:24That's it. And I want you to get a feeling
- 31:29then it's time to leave this garden.
- 31:35But you leave this garden full of high self worth, of high self
- 31:40respect, and you could lose it. You could lose that self respect
- 31:48and self love by making decisions that the old you would
- 31:51have made. That's not you anymore.
- 31:57If it doesn't fill you up with alignment, empowerment, self
- 32:02love and self respect. You simply don't want it.
- 32:10And you don't need a relationship to feel valued.
- 32:15You will give that value to yourself and you can be open to
- 32:22a relationship without needing one.
- 32:28And by having that sense of security, it means you become
- 32:32immune to games and manipulation that in the past became alluring
- 32:41for you. So as you leave that garden,
- 32:49imagine floating all the way back to your present.
- 32:53Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 32:57nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 33:01wiggle your toes. Start to connect and calibrate
- 33:03into the here and the now. And when I count from 1:00 to
- 33:0710:00 you will awaken. But you will awaken feeling
- 33:12filled with self love, self respect, worthiness, and a
- 33:18desire to make a decision that removes the pain of your past
- 33:25and sets a precedent of your high standards moving forward.
- 33:31Starting to count to awaken you 123 Waking up 456 More alert 7-8
- 33:40Open your eyes, open your eyes. 910 Wide awake, wide awake, wide
