- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi, it's Adam here. And in this very, very short
- 0:44hypnosis session, you're going to be listening to a hypnosis
- 0:48that was created for a client. That.
- 0:51Was doom scrolling, spending too much time on social media,
- 0:55getting caught by the algorithm that would give them lots of
- 0:59very, very appealing content based on their tastes and kind
- 1:03of snare them into this trance like state where they would
- 1:06spend more time than they wanted on their phone at the expense of
- 1:11doing other things and what they actually wanted.
- 1:14And that's the reason why this hypnosis is so short, is they
- 1:17wanted something 10 minutes or less that they could quickly
- 1:21listen to, to help. Them break.
- 1:23That pattern. So there's two parts to this.
- 1:26There's this hypnosis, and then there's actually what we did in
- 1:29the session, and that is explore what's called pattern
- 1:32interrupts. Pattern interrupts are things
- 1:35designed to break a pattern that would normally be happening
- 1:40unconscious. Most habits are automatic, so
- 1:43there's a few things going on here. 1 is to link the use.
- 1:47Of. Social media.
- 1:50That is unproductive. As a cost that if you had to pay
- 1:54to go on TikTok, had to pay to go on Instagram, let's say. 1.
- 1:58Pounds, 2 lbs two dollars a minute.
- 2:01Would you, You know, if you had to pay like a subscription or
- 2:04you got a bill every month, you probably wouldn't do it.
- 2:07Most people wouldn't. And that's because they make
- 2:09their money from the advertising, not from your use.
- 2:12But if your time is worth, let's say you know. £100 A $100.00 AN.
- 2:17Hour then in real terms, by giving your time to the social
- 2:21media platforms, it is costing you that.
- 2:24As an opportunity cost. So we use that as leverage.
- 2:28There is a, a patent interrupt of well, it's very easy.
- 2:32Most people when they're on their phone, they're sitting,
- 2:34they're quite comfortable. But if you had to go outside
- 2:37standing on one leg to doom scroll, would you?
- 2:40Probably not. So there's a ridiculous element
- 2:43of patent interrupt and then there's something called
- 2:45dovetailing outcomes, which is if you do something that would
- 2:48normally be unproductive time, but you link it to something
- 2:51that would actually enrich your life.
- 2:52In this case, we used the example of cardio exercise.
- 2:55Then actually it could be beneficial because most people
- 2:58when they're doom scrolling are going into a trance state where
- 3:03you get time distortion and you've probably had the
- 3:05experience of going on social media and you think it's been
- 3:07two or three minutes, but it was been 20 minutes.
- 3:10Imagine if you were doing cardio exercise for that 20 minutes.
- 3:14Suddenly you. Become healthier.
- 3:16And happier. And have more energy.
- 3:18And you? Get to use because most cardio
- 3:20is boring, but if you're doing something that distracts you,
- 3:24you lose track of what you're doing anyway.
- 3:26Me personally, I like when I'm doing cardio in the gym to watch
- 3:31ATV show. I've been watching lots of Black
- 3:33Mirror. Recently so you.
- 3:34Can spend an hour watching a good TV show while doing cardio
- 3:38without realizing that you've done an hour of cardio because
- 3:41you're immersed in the TV show. So there's little hacks that can
- 3:44make these things useful to turn unproductive time into
- 3:48beneficial time. I think you'll benefit from this
- 3:51if you feel that you're spending too much screen time on things
- 3:55that aren't useful either for your quality of life.
- 4:00Or. Are productive in some way.
- 4:03A lot of people do use their phone for work.
- 4:06I'm talking about the doom scrolling that the time wasting
- 4:09on your phone. That's what we want to break the
- 4:11pattern. So think about that as you're
- 4:13listening to this session. It's only about 10 minutes, but
- 4:16it might be helpful for you to start breaking patterns and give
- 4:19you more time to do the things that.
- 4:21You would. Actually want to do with that
- 4:23time. Obviously it was created for an
- 4:25individual. If you do like the idea of
- 4:27working with me, check out the link in the show notes to book a
- 4:29free consultation call. But for now, find a quiet,
- 4:33comfortable place that you won't be disturbed.
- 4:36Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in and on the
- 4:57outward breath. Close your eyes and as you
- 5:01breathe in, breathe in relaxation and as you exhale
- 5:08feel tension leaving your body in your outward breath and just
- 5:14notice the deeper. You breathe.
- 5:17The more relaxed you feel, and the more relaxed you feel, the
- 5:22deeper you breathe. And as your body relaxes, your
- 5:27imagination awakens. And just allow yourself to go to
- 5:35that place where change happens quickly, where your mind becomes
- 5:41open and receptive to new ways of thinking, ways in which old
- 5:49habits can be broken and new habits can be created.
- 5:56I want you to imagine a fireman's pole.
- 6:00Imagine the top being your conscious and the bottom where
- 6:05you land being your subconscious.
- 6:08And just imagine what it would feel like to slide down that
- 6:12fireman's pole into your subconscious mind.
- 6:18And there, allow yourself to feel even deeper relaxed as you
- 6:27think about things differently. I want you to think about how
- 6:33much it would cost for someone to hire you for one hour of your
- 6:40time. And let's say a number pops into
- 6:46your head. I want you to calculate what a
- 6:50minute of your time is worth and when you have that number and
- 6:57you know that. It is.
- 6:58True. Let me know about nodding your
- 7:00head and therefore your time is that value.
- 7:09That value will increase over time.
- 7:14I don't want you to get a sense that time is one of those finite
- 7:20resources, time that you've spent you can never get back.
- 7:28And if someone could buy an hour of your time, then your time is
- 7:33that value. And I want you to get a sense of
- 7:40when you're using social media, when you're doomed, scrolling on
- 7:45things that give you that temporary feeling of humor or
- 7:51dopamine. I want you to start to think
- 7:56that you're paying for that with your time.
- 8:01And I want you to imagine whatever platforms or apps you
- 8:07use the most, just imagine if tomorrow they were.
- 8:12No longer free. They had a subscription model,
- 8:17and that subscription model is whatever a minute of your time
- 8:22is per minute. To use them intuitively, I want
- 8:30you to really get a sense of would you continue to use those
- 8:36applications if that's how much it cost to use them?
- 8:43Scan your body for where you feel that.
- 8:47And if it is the case that you wouldn't pay to use them, then
- 8:53it means that it's not worth your time to continue using
- 8:59them. I want you to think about using
- 9:05something you've used a lot. Just imagine coins or banknotes
- 9:11piling up that value for every minute you use and I want you to
- 9:17imagine. If you've.
- 9:20Used 10 minutes, it's cost that much and I want you to think
- 9:25about what you would have to do with that amount of money to
- 9:31rewire your subconscious mind to feel it isn't worth it.
- 9:41Maybe that's throwing the money away or burning the money or
- 9:45giving it to a 'cause that you really don't believe in, to
- 9:49shake up your nervous system so that you intuitively come to the
- 9:55conclusion, the conclusion that you intuitively know already it
- 10:02just isn't worth it. And I want you to imagine that
- 10:07happening now, spending 10 minutes in a particular location
- 10:16and feeling not intellectually but emotionally, that it's cost
- 10:22you that amount. And when it feels it just isn't
- 10:29worth it. Let me know by nodding your
- 10:30head. And I want you to allow yourself
- 10:38to continue to use your phone in this way, but under 2
- 10:44circumstances. One in a circumstance where it's
- 10:50impractical, inconvenient, perhaps even ridiculous.
- 10:57I want you to imagine what it would be like to doom scroll on
- 11:01your phone while standing like a Flamingo in your garden on one
- 11:07leg, perhaps outside on a cold or rainy day.
- 11:14I don't need to think that maybe you would spend two or three
- 11:19minutes at most until your mind comes to the conclusion that
- 11:25this isn't worth it. Or perhaps you utilize a
- 11:33different context that if cardio exercise was a pill or a potion,
- 11:41it would be the most powerful medication that has ever existed
- 11:47on the planet. Some people have said that 20 or
- 11:5330 minutes of cardio exercise a day reduces the probability of
- 12:01thousands of different lifestyle diseases.
- 12:06I want you to give yourself permission to doom scroll while
- 12:11you're doing cardio, knowing that your mind will go into that
- 12:16trance state that you'll do 30 minutes of exercise without
- 12:21realizing it's been 30 minutes. While your focus is on those
- 12:26videos or that content, your body is still getting all the
- 12:31benefits of that exercise. Doom scrolling or unproductive
- 12:39phone time is now either a waste of money, inconvenient and
- 12:46ridiculous, or making you healthier and more vital and
- 12:54energized than ever before. All of which either break the
- 12:59pattern or have it working for you rather than against you.
- 13:06And you don't need to pick which one, just know that any of them
- 13:13or a combination of them are possible.
- 13:16And when you feel that your unconscious is willing to abide
- 13:24by these new boundaries, conditions to break.
- 13:29You free. Of an algorithmic slave master.
- 13:36Just let me know about nodding your head and then imagine
- 13:41you've now got the strength to climb up that fireman's pole to
- 13:47go from your subconscious to. Your conscious.
- 13:50And at the point where you climb the very top of the pole, you're
- 13:54no longer at the top of the pole, but back in your physical
- 13:57body. Listening to my voice right now.
- 14:00So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 14:04nose. Wiggle your fingers and wiggle
- 14:06your toes as I count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you starting
- 14:12to count. 1/2. Three waking up 456 More alert
- 14:177-8 Open your eyes. Open your eyes. 910 Wide awake,
