- Jessica Figueroa: Hello, my beautiful listeners. I am so happy to be here with you. Doing these podcasts with you every day makes my life better because I want to be someone who practices what they preach. And while I have done all of these things for periods of times, consistency is something I struggle with, just like most people. So doing this alongside you is helping me be who I want to be on a day-to-day basis. So what are we going to do today, everybody? What should we do today? Also, if you ever have any suggestions of wood you like ⁓ would like us to do just for today, please send them in or comment. Okay, so just for today, we are gonna handle something, everything for today, as soon as it comes in. It could be an email, it could be a text message, it could be a request for lunch. How many times have you sent a text or received a text? Let's get something on the calendar and then you put it off. Well, today, pretend like you have to respond. What if someone's like, hey, I have a prayer request and you have to bow your head right then and pray? What if someone's like, you're like, ⁓ I love that book. I want to read it. Well, you have to order it right then or download it on audio, audible. ⁓ today we are going to work on doing things right when they come up in our lives. So if you don't have time to address your emails, don't open them because you know when you open them, you have to address and you have to respond. In our house, it is not a rule that just because someone knocks at the door that you have to answer it. And I have an open door. Policy. I have three kids. Kids are coming all the time. So we really don't know. So sometimes, and I've trained my kids, you we will all be sitting on the couch doing something, and someone knocks at the door and none of us move because none of us are expecting anyone. We're not really concerned at who it is, and we don't even get up. But today, as things present themselves, we are going to address them right then and there. So if something breaks, you can't put it off to be fixed later. You're going to have to fix it right then if it's possible. If you drop something, You have to pick it up right then. You can't wait till later. You can't walk past something that needs to be put away today. If you're gonna walk past it, you have to pick it up and put it where it went. Okay. Today we are gonna work on urgency, handling things as they come up rather than thinking that there's going to be a better time later. Because sometimes there will be and sometimes there won't. But for today, we are working on handling everything as soon as it pops up in our life. Which means if you see that phone call coming in, you got to answer it. Even if you're like only have a minute, you're gonna answer it. Today we're gonna work on our sense of urgency, accomplishing things and accomplishing tasks. Now, you could never live a life like this, right? That's the beauty of doing things just for today. Because if you were living a life like this, that wouldn't be wise either. But the exercise of doing something just for today teaches us to get out of the bad habits we have and implement new good habits. So just for today. We're gonna work on our sense of urgency and we are gonna complete a task as soon as it's presented to us. It's gonna be a busy day, but we're ready for it. Are you ready for it? Say to yourself, I'm ready for it. All right, you guys. Have a great day and I'm looking forward to waking up with you tomorrow.
