- 0:02SPEAKER_01: Hello I actually haven't seen you in so long.
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: Maybe since the Hendu.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: No, I saw you last week with Allegra.
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Our friend, our friend's baby.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: But we do remember we were parting and we were like, oh my god, when's the next time we're gonna see each other?
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: And we were like, oh my god, it's not gonna be for a week.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: Week and a bit.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be longer than that.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Two weeks maybe.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, that's actually really quite sad.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: Well things like I've been trying to check if the Odyssey in the cinema.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: I know, me too.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: Is it?
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: No.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say I was genuinely considering going today on my own because I was like, I have to watch it in the cinema.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be so much shitter.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: We're gonna regret it if we have to watch it on the TV.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: I know, I know we are, I know we are.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: One day.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: One day when it's like re-released in IMAX in like 2047.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: It literally is our own Odyssey.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: Try and see this one.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Um okay, so things have taken a turn for the worst since I last saw you.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Well no, just like obviously last time last time we spoke on here, we obviously had quite a lot of travails.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Um Hendu travails, and I feel like the travails have just continued.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, you've had another Hendu.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I have, I have.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: So how are you feeling?
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: But not quite as um, I didn't get any necklaces ripped off my neck.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: Well, I didn't have any to get ripped off my neck.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Actually, quite conveniently, they were they've all been taken.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: They're all in, so um, yeah, no jewellery was um left my body.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: Um but no, we had so much fun.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: We got an Adele impersonator to come.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: So good, it was so funny, and at the time we were like, obviously, I'd made like some dodgy batches of margaritas, and we were like, oh my god, like she's so good.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: And then we were in the pub the next day, like looking at the videos, and we were like, I don't know if she was that good, but it's it's quite wait, okay.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Let's so let's just set the scene.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: So you had your friend Phoebe's Hendo, it was a London Hendoo, yeah.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: So you started you actually started quite chic, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: She's not like a big um like Hendo-y activity type of person, which works out for me because I'm also not like that.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: So we went for lunch at like a really nice restaurant, that restaurant called Tavern in Old Street.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: Um I've never actually had it.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: No, I've never.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: It's new, it's it's really nice.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: Um it was really good.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: Modern European?
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like the classics.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: Um the song.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: I think I've had enough of modern European.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Sorry, just to say not to shit on Tavern, but but don't you think?
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean I I don't really go out to eat anymore.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: Mmm, neither to be fair.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: It's too expensive, but also can't afford it.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: And if I do, I would prefer to go and get like a pizza or a Chinese or Greek food and just get like do you know what I mean?
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, like hummus.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: Just loads of hummus.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: Um anyway, but it was really, really nice.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: Um, and then we well, we did that thing of like we didn't really have anywhere to go and we didn't have anyone's house to go to.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: So we rented out this like house in Angel, which was just like a Georgian house, and obviously they have like events there and stuff, but it was actually so good, it was just like being in like someone's living room.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: It was like really ideal.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: You were saying this, so like when you say it's like a Georgian house, is it literally like a living room?
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: And they've got like can you like not move in, obviously?
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: But could you you said you made it?
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Did you because you were saying you made margarita?
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: So like so you'd bringing limes in there.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: So you do so you can do like we did like a food and drink order, and then it's like an open plan, like um sofas with like a TV space and like bookshelves, and then like on the other side was like a kitchen with like a kitchen island, and then there was like a toilet outside, like kind of in the hallway, and then there was like a um I can't sort of it just looks mad and I just literally sorry for listeners, I've just been trying to put my hair in a half up, half down style for lost five minutes, and it's completely insane.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: And now I'm about to do that scrunchy again.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Continue, continue.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: Um, and then but the only weird bit about it which made it more like corporate vibes is that they had this room which um had like a big projector at the back, which I guess you could have like loads of chairs, but they removed all those chairs, so it was just kind of like a it was separated with like a curtain.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: So that's where we like set up Adele.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: Um but it was so funny, she came.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: So basically what happened was we that we own it wasn't through like a legit website or something, we just like had her for mobile number and she was speaking in like abbreviations.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: How did you have a mobile number?
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: We just because we were trying to find we were trying to find an Adele because we knew we were gonna get so Phoebe's not like a big activity person, but she loves Adele, so we were like, Oh my god, wouldn't it be really jokes if we got like an Adele impersonator to come?
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Um, like dressed as Adele and all that stuff.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: So we were just googling like Adele impersonators and found this one chick who um was like yeah, like texting us like in like you know, like with the letter U for you, like didn't really feel like super legit had to pay for like the deposit, just like bank transfer.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um not actually and then we like the week before the hen, Phoebe's sister who was all like in contact with her, like couldn't get in touch with her, like her phone was off, like her text weren't going through one day, and we were like, Oh my god, she's literally robbed us.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: And anyway, she like text us all being like, Don't want to like panic anyone, but can't get through to a tell.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: And we were like, Oh my god.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: And um, and she anyway, we ended up hearing back from her like five hours later, and she has she was oh my she was like, Oh my god, I'm so sorry, I've been in A and E all day because my dog something happened to her dog, and then she like spiced her lip open and then like this and that.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: And we were like, Oh my god, she was like, Don't worry, be there next week, come back.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: You're like calling her, and it's like in a European ringtone, she's in fucking Gibraltar, like with a split there.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, this is crazy.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: Um, anyway, came and we had to kind of like smuggle her in because we and but I was like, she also could have walked in because she was just didn't she wasn't dressed as Adele, she just looked like a normal person, but she was getting in all her equipment and stuff, and then anyway, we like uh did the big reveal and she was wearing like a wig and like a long sequin, you know, like little like sequin dresses and like all this up, and we put the like Glastonbury Adele set like up on the projector.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's really good in the background.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: Um, anyway, and then at first, so she kind of like we didn't we I thought she was just gonna like sing a set list, which she did, but I didn't realise that she was going to like like kind of cater it for like the Hindu.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: So she was like took like Phoebe's hands and was like beautiful bride and like yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: Like you you sent me a picture, and it was so funny because like just for context, like Phoebe who's Hindu is, is like I wouldn't say she's the most like demonstrative person in the world.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: No, no, but Han sent me a picture from a town, and a doubt this Italian personager is like basically caressing at one point like Phoebe's face, and it's like dedicating all of these like really emotional ballads to Phoebe, and she's like a centimeter away from Phoebe's face, and Phoebe just looks so awkward.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: You were so close to Phoebe's face, like the next day we were looking at videos, and I was like, No, it's not okay how close she is to you, like her lips on your skin, it's not okay.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, and we were like, Oh my god, she lit Phoebe literally hates it.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: Like, oh my god, this is awful.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: Anyway, and then like she was it was completely fine, and we all got really into it, and she just like sung all the hits, and it was actually like so fun.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: Um, but the projector on the screen, like because we wouldn't know and had like YouTube premium, like the adverts kept on coming up.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: You'd be like taking a video, and everyone would be singing like Adele, and then like on the background, it was like an advert for like cold egg, yeah, like dog food or something, and we'd be I'd be like, Oh my god, I need to go skip the advert.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: She's like in the middle of someone like you, and you're like, Hold it, hold it.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: I'm like, skip, um, does anyone have YouTube premium?
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: Um, it was really, it was really good.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: And then at the end, um, she was like, Hope you have an amazing wedding, like all of this stuff.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: Um, and then she sent like she had some guy like filming content with her.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: Um stop and I know, and she sent us the videos the next day and sent a text being like, um, like, hope the wedding's amazing, send me a pic.
- 9:40SPEAKER_02: Like, we're obviously not sending you a picture of me getting married.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: Do you think she wanted it for the content?
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: I was just like I'm also obsessed that she's like uncontactable for like however many days, and then like you don't even fucking know who she is or whether she's gonna be good, and then she just arrives with like an entourage of like staff.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: So funny.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: Um, and then also I don't know if I told you this, but uh so she was wearing like do you kind of remember like the classic Adele like sequin dress that kind of went out?
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: Um gold.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: Oh black, black, yeah, yeah.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and um, I think she did have a gold one as well.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: But anyway, so at one point, like halfway through the set, when she's kind of she you know how like Adele's albums like kind of went up in age, she was like kind of moving on to the new ones, and she was like, Now we're moving on to this whatever album, and she just like rips off her sequin dress, but there's just another sequin dress on underneath.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, are you joking?
- 10:46SPEAKER_02: Just tighter sequin dress, and I'm like, what's going on?
- 10:49SPEAKER_02: Like, why did you need to do it?
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: There's not an outfit change.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: Wait, how did she rip it off?
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Was there like buttons on it, or did she put it up over her?
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: I think it was that dying.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: That is iconic.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: I'm obsessed with this woman.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: What's her name?
- 11:02SPEAKER_01: No, honestly, she was so funny, I can't remember her name.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: She was from Skegnes.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: Skegnes.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: She drove down to Angel um to see us.
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: No, she was actually a legend, she was really funny.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: Um, just her personal space was like not okay.
- 11:15SPEAKER_01: And the outfit cracked me up because I was like, it's any different from what you were wearing.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: Were you guys all quite taken aback when she did that?
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: Because it must have been quite a dramatic move.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: I remember I think we were like, oh my god, but like everyone was like wasted at that point.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: So okay, okay.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: So her kind of big reveal didn't really land new drunkards.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but anyway, and then we went to a bar in Dawson, and then yeah, it was fun.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: But you know, with these things, it's like I left at like half midnight or something, and I was like, I've been on my feet since like seven in the morning, but I've been drinking since like eleven.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: Um, and I was just like, I can't take another sip of a modello in this Mexican hour anymore.
- 11:57unknown: Yeah.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: Completely, I completely hear you.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: Well, I was quite surprised that when I spoke to you next day, you weren't throwing up.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: No, I was actually fine.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: Very unlike you.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: I know it's crazy.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: Went to the pub, had a few bites.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: I can't believe it.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: Maybe you're sturdier than we all thought.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: No, I think it's like it's just like opposite ends of the scale.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: Like I'm either fine or I'm wrecked throwing up with a migraine.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: In like a darkened room, like in a fucking strait jacket.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: I did wake up, I did wake up and feel horrible, and then I ate toast and then went to sleep, and I think that like did the trick.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: That always helps quite a lot, doesn't it?
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: Um, but anyway, yeah, so that was my weekend.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: And you also had a weekend.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I did, I did.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: I I think I had a weekend.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: No, we had um, I also had a wedding.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: Um, it was a two-dayer, um, and it was actually uh one of our most loyal listeners.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: Shout out to well, the Prentices now, but Charlie Prentice and Becky.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: Well, I don't know if Becky's gonna go with Becky Prentice, but Becky Kimpton slash Prentice.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: Anyway, shout out to the absolute legends.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: Um, I told Charlie I'd give him a little shout out.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: He was he was um thrilled.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: Um anyway, love you guys.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's funny.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there you go, in place of uh a honeymoon fund contribution.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: Ten times way more meaningful.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I think no, love you guys.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: No, I had their wedding and it was amazing, so chic, London wedding, obsessed.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, just the best, absolutely unreal, un unparalleled.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: Anyway, but then things obviously took a turn because I well, you know what I'm like.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: Well, you know what they're like, it's just like weddings just don't agree with me.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: It's like I can't not drink the drink that's been put in front of me.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: And you know when there's like people coming around filling up like champagne, you're like filling up, filling up, and like every time your glass is empty, like some gorgeous bartender will come round and just like top you up.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: And I just can't not down it or just drink it.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: Like, you're so good at just putting it down.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: I cannot.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: It feels like a waste of this glorious nectar.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: I mean, definitely, like at weddings, like I think everyone's like that to an extent because it's like the anticipation, and everyone's like a bit like nervous or whatever.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: So, I mean, I'm 100% like that.
- 14:34SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm always like necking like something, but I think just when I start feeling like I think because I'm so hyper-aware of when I start feeling drunk or like a bit like yeah, like losing control of my like spatial awareness and stuff, then is when I'm like, okay, I'm gonna like set my drink down or I'm gonna drink water or whatever.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: The thing is, I have actually become quite a lot better, but I think there was like you know, sometimes when you just have like a fuck it switch and like this just happened to be a fuck it day, so I was just like, whatever, I don't care.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: I'm just gonna do you know what?
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: Fuck it.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna just drink this champagne that's continuously flowing.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: Anyway, so not.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: I mean, well, I mean, there's quite a lot of reasons why not, but anyway, I think there's quite a lot of evidence from past experiences.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: Why not?
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: But anyway, so everything's fantastic.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: I managed to keep it relatively um chic, chatting with all with all the family members, having a lovely time.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: Um, dinner's a dream, having a great time, but then it kind of goes a bit sort of downhill for me as the kind of music bit starts.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: So at this point, because can I can I also just say not to not to excuse my not to excuse myself, but I think it was a combo of just like drinking and also just being so tired.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: Because like I think at this stage, kind of maybe around like the 11 pm mark, I was like, you know, when you're like woo like drunk but exhausted and your kind of eyes are sort of shutting, but you're also just chatting shit.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: Anyway, so I was like, right, okay, come and Giani, get it together, like we're gonna be fine.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: So, anyway, so then we all leave because we're walking to the like after party venue.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: Um, at this point, I'm like, I have an argument with someone.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: So, so it's it's the deterioration has begun.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Then we arrive at the club.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: I don't remember what I do remember this is the thing, I remember everything, but it's all just a bit blurred.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: Um, I try and order a drink at the bar, they tell me that they're not serving me.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: But you know, one of those drunks where you're like, I am completely in control of my faculties.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: Sorry?
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm mentally there, but clearly it's not translating in my physical actions.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: So I must have been like really jerky or something.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: But like clearly, I was like not giving sober, but in my head, I'm like, I'm I'm sober as a judge.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Anyways, so they're like, We're not serving you, we're not serving you.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: So then the night progresses, we're all thrashing around, everyone's dancing.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: Our friend Sean starts DJing on the DJ decks, and it's kind of this little podium in the corner of the club.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: I insist on standing on this podium again and again and again, and there's to the point that bounces had to come and be like, get off the podium.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: You're not meant to be on the podium.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: I don't know what it is.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: It's like when I'm drunk, I just want to like, I don't know, like dance, dance in front of the crowd.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: Anyway, we then all we all go home.
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: I'm at home like three, three in the morning, whatever.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: I wake up the next day, the anxiety is off the Richter scale.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: I've never, I have not felt that anxious since maybe our friend Chia's wedding when me and you had to hug hug each other for like 14 hours just just to calm down.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: Do you remember?
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: Me and Hannah were so anxious that it was only physical touch that brief that briefly gave us a rest bite from the anxiety.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: So we would just stand in the kitchen hugging each other for hours on end.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: Um, but anyway, long story short, it was absolutely horrific.
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: And I was like, I've got to go to day two now, and I'm pretty sure I've humiliated myself, pretty sure I've burnt every bridge in my entire friendship group, pretty sure I have done several bad things.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: Anyway, arrive sheepishly at day two.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: It's like a stunning, glorious, like sort of garden party at Becky's sister's stunning house in Holland Park.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: So everyone's kind of on their best behaviour, there's another bar.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: I arrive a bit late, and it's already a bit like, you know, when you can, you know, when your energy is like very different to other people's.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: So like I'm very on edge.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: Everyone else is like, Chipper, Chipper having a great time.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: I can barely speak.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: I'd obviously told myself that I wasn't gonna drink.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: So I was like, we cannot having a we can't have a repeat of yesterday.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: Anyway, so that I'm like, oh, I'm feeling a bit anxious.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: Everyone's like, Don't be silly, don't be anxious, get a drink, get a drink.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: So I'm like, okay, all right, maybe, maybe.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: Anyway, then I'm kind of like, okay, maybe start feeling better.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: You know, when you have like a bit of physical contact, some chats, and you're like, oh, I'm being silly, like I'm just being in my own head.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: Anyway, then this boy that I know who I haven't seen in a while just goes, Juliana, and I was like, Oh, hi, hi.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: And he goes, Do you remember you broke the DJ decks last night?
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: And I was like, What?
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: He was like, you know, apparently you split your drink on them.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: And I was like, What?
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: Literally, at this point, every fibre of my being just turned into I don't even know what it was, just just sunk, you know, in your heart and your chest.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: And I was like, What?
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: And he was like, I thought he was joking.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: I was like, you must be joking because you know I'm so anxious.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: And he was like, No, I'm not joking.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: Apparently, that's that's that's what that's the rumour going around.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: Is that you spilled your drink on DJ index?
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: The rumour.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: So I was like, hang on.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: So everyone's been talking about this, and he was like, Oh yeah, yeah, we were all we were all talking about it before you arrived.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Oh my god.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: So I burst into tears.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: I was like, Oh no, I can't emotionally handle this.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: I was like, I'm now because also I was like, I wasn't served, so I didn't have a drink in my hand all night, but then again, I was rushing around the podium to give me a drink.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: How could I have spilled one?
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: I know, but I also can't like definitively say it wasn't me.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: So it's like the worst case scenario.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: So anyway, I spent the rest of the fucking day just sort of like questioning anyone and everyone about like what I was doing in the sort of club area.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Anyway, ended up being like a really nice day, but long story short, weddings, weddings are dangerous territory.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: It is, isn't it?
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: The uh I may or may not be liable for about a thousand pounds worth of um equipment now.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: You're damaged.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: So you need to like insure yourself when you go to out or something.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: I have to insure everything around me.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: Everywhere I go, I have to get out contents insurance for the property.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Oh dear.
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: Oh, but anyway, I just want to say love you so much, Charlie and Becky, and thank you so much for being loyal listeners.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: We love you guys.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: Okay, should we get into the nitty-gritty?
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, let's get into what the hell's been going on.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: Well, most importantly, girls' reunion.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: Girls reunion.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: I am really scared it's not gonna be the same.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: And I know that's pessimistic of me.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: No, but you know, as these things go, we've seen it before.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: Like sex in the city, um trying to think of other ones.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: But this is about my my sub stack about gladiator two, that was a car crash, practical magic two, devil was Prada 2, they're all shit.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: Magic in the middle of two, not good.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: Apparently, it's terrible.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Um this was the this was literally the headline from um Little White Lies Practical Magic 2 Lacking in magic in just about every sense.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh my god.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: Oh that's a real a real shame.
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, no, so that is my fear, and I would be less worried if um Lena Dunham, I didn't like Lena Dunham's too much programme, like I thought it was quite bad and I couldn't get past episode three.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: Did you never finish it?
- 22:33SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: I honestly couldn't.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: I found it unbearable.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: It was really bad.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: So that's the thing that worries me because I'm like, she did write that and it wasn't good.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: Um is capable of writing something bad, but my theory is this.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: By the way, I agree with you, I'm really, really concerned.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: Because I also like, why can't we all do a flea bag?
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: Just leave it, leave on a high, don't you think?
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: For sure, and it was such a like certain time of life, and you know, where we were at at that time, and I just feel like it should be that it's okay for things to end be of a certain era and that be that.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: Completely agree.
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: I feel like now there's so little money in like film and TV production that they'd rather take a punt on something that was previously successful than like basically take a risk on something that they don't know how it's gonna turn out.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: But I think like what we've seen again and again is that it it you're never gonna you're never gonna match that initial like burst of magic exactly.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: Um I mean it's good that it's only a five episoder, but it could just be a bit depressing.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: I mean, I know you're not I know that's so rude.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: I'm also we're also basically 40.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: I know you're not like a Gilmore girls fan, but you know how they did the like seasons in a year and it just like it just doesn't translate, it just doesn't work.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: No, I don't know something like that.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: What was that?
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: Oh, they just did like a Gilmore Girls like reboot and it was the same thing, it was only four episodes, and it was like an episode per season.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: Um, so it was like autumn, winter, because Gilmore Girls was quite like seasonal.
- 24:23SPEAKER_01: Um, but there's also something about like these programmes that were written by people who like were quite young at the time and have like a certain like naivety to them and like the industry and all this kind of stuff, and there's like that's why they kind of translate so well and they're so like relatable because these young writers like are just literally writing about their experiences and like don't really have a filter and stuff, whereas now you're so like I don't think it's the same when people write shows like their own shows as older people you do know what I mean.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: It's yeah, and your life experience has changed, and the person who was writing that show that like had all those references and had all of that like magic is no longer it doesn't exist anymore, so like it will be a different show, which might be a it might be a great one, but it might if you're trying to make it similar, you're trying to make it similar to what it was, it's just like do something different, do something new for this new season of life.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that that's true.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's just that they need to do something different.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: Um, because also it's just like I guess what makes girls like so funny and like of its time is that these characters were kind of just like do making mistakes all the time, and I guess when you get older you kind of stop doing that as much um because you care more about like the consequences of like your decisions and your behaviour and stuff like that, and you're also just like not like living for the plot as much, like back in your like early 20s, you just are like fuck it, yeah.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: I'll just like go on this bender because like lol hilarious.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: Whereas now we like now it's like you have severe anxiety for five days, yeah.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: Or like you're branding branded an addict, uh you've got a problem, mate.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: You're like, oh, it's not it's not so like cute and silly anymore.
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: It's not like oh god, crazy.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um but again no, I completely agree with you.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: Um and also I just think like there is something so beautiful, like going back to this idea of just like having having like ending on a high, like there is something so beautiful about like leaving on a slightly unsatisfyingly kind of open-ended ending.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: Like, do you remember when the last episode of the of girls?
- 26:45SPEAKER_00: Do you remember it's Jessa and Adam?
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: They're still together.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: Um, but Jessa's sort of flailing, they're all flailing, aren't they?
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: Like Hannah's moved to wherever it is, Ohio, wherever, upstate with Marnie to um raise her baby Grover.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: Then Shoshana's like cut them all out and she's engaged and like got a new friendship group.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: So it's like there is something so like beautifully like flawed and unsatisfying about it, and it's like let's just leave it there.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: Didn't she say that um it was like the reason they're doing it is because like she felt like the voices talking to her again, or like there was like a burning, like, need to tell a story, a particular story.
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: So that's quite intriguing, I suppose.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that is intriguing.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: I like the idea of the voices talking to her, yeah.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: Although also quite coincidentally timed 15 years later to the day.
- 27:44SPEAKER_03: Weirdly started that's really funny.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: Well, it's interesting because obviously, so they've now um apparently it's in production.
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: I don't know if it's actually started filming yet.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: I don't think she's written it yet.
- 27:57SPEAKER_00: But so we know the original out of the original cast, we know that Lena Dunham's back, Alison Williams, who plays Marnie, Jemima Kirk, who plays Jessa, um, Zosha Mammett, who plays Shoshana, Andrew Rannolds, who plays Elijah, and Judd Apto, who was the executive producer.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: But they've got rid of um the her old writing partner, Jenny Connor.
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: Do you remember who she spoke about in FameSick?
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: No, I I didn't end up reading that.
- 28:21SPEAKER_01: What did she say?
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: Well, so basically her co-showrunner from the original series was this woman called Jenny Connor.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: And in FameSick, Lena's uh like autobiography that came out earlier this year, it's there's quite a lot of tea about their relationship.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: So they began, she was quite a bit older than Lena.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: I think she was like in her 40s, and Lina was obviously like 24 or something, and um, they ended up having this really, really intense relationship where they would have like sleepovers, and they were like Lena would refer to her as like her best friend, and then as the series like series rolled on basically, Lena became like more and more kind of um ill, like her illness got worse with her endometriosis, and then also she was kind of became addicted to uh prescription drugs, but then there was this tension between like Jenny being her friend and like caring about her, but then also just wanting her to like get into work and like get the job done, and then it just all became a bit fucked up, like the work-friend relationship, and then they ended basically like on a really, really bad note, anyway.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: So she's not coming back, so obviously they haven't made up, and then Adam Driver's not coming back, which unsurprising after what she said about him.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: So she also so Lena in her fame-sake autobiography basically was quiet, he was very awkward about Adam Driver, basically implied that he was like very inappropriate on set, not like sexually, but he would just kind of really get into the character to the extent that everyone just felt a bit uncomfortable around him, and he'd be like throwing chairs around and like he just wouldn't chat to anyone in between takes, and it was just a bit awkward being around him.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: And then apparently at one stage in like the end of season one or season two, him and Lena had like a potential moment when they could have shagged, like outside of the show, and he also had a girlfriend at the time who he's now married to.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:14SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't think he needs to be in it at all.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: Like, I know he was obviously like a central character, but it's very obvious.
- 30:20SPEAKER_01: I mean, him and him and Hannah didn't end up together, and neither did him and Jessa.
- 30:25SPEAKER_01: So, like no, sorry, they did end up no no no they did, but what I mean is like it's very obvious that their relationship is not sustainable, so like you wouldn't expect them, you wouldn't expect like Adam and Jessa to be like in love 15 years later, generally yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:43SPEAKER_00: Although I do think it would have been quite nice to just have the whole the whole gang.
- 30:47SPEAKER_01: But what would they have done?
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: Just like bump into him, like it's just feels as if no, I'd I I think it would have been quite forced.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: Maybe.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: But most importantly, Elijah's back.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Andrew Rannell's.
- 31:02SPEAKER_00: Should we read a tiny wait, can we talk about which ones are our favourite episodes?
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think that is my favourite episode.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: The AV Women Do.
- 31:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:12SPEAKER_00: So season one, episode three.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: It's just the best one, it's got so many good moments in it.
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: Should we read really quickly from that tiny dialogue, which is like the best script writing on TV?
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: Anyway, long story short, it's just so good.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: So Elijah goes to meet Hannah, and Hannah's sets up this meeting because he's her ex-boyfriend from college, and she's found out she she has HBB.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: And so she's like, Oh, well, Elijah must have given it to me, so I'm gonna have to go tell him basically that he has an STI.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: And then he thinks that she just wants to meet up with him, and he needs to tell her that he's actually come out as gay since they broke up.
- 31:47SPEAKER_00: And then it's like the funniest script writing of all time.
- 31:51SPEAKER_00: So Hannah goes, So I'm processing this.
- 31:53SPEAKER_00: Does this mean that the whole time we were together, you were, oh, I mean, are you you're asking, Did I always want to have sex with men?
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: This is Elijah.
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: And she goes, Yes.
- 32:03SPEAKER_00: So that so then how are you able to have sex with me?
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: This is Hannah.
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: And he goes, Well, there's a certain handsomeness to you.
- 32:12unknown: So good.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: And then she goes, Oh my god.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: And he goes, All right, that's maybe that wasn't right.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: And she goes, Well, I'm very happy for you.
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: And then they start talking about her dad.
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: Do you remember that bit?
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: No, it's the the bit where most this is the bit most people know when um where he says Elijah says, Well, I think it was Maya Angela who said we are only as blind as we want to be.
- 32:36SPEAKER_01: And she Hannah says, So you're saying that I was supposed to know that you were gay?
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: Because let me tell you something, this fruity little voice that you've put on is a new thing.
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: And he says, Is this about the scarf?
- 32:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's not about the scarf.
- 32:51SPEAKER_01: The scarf is not helping the situation, it's your tone of voice, it's about your mannerisms.
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's so good.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: And then he goes, he goes, I'm being my authentic self.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: If you'd been this gay in college, I would have known because I have two eyeballs, two ears, and then he goes, Really?
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: You might want to take some steps back through your other boyfriends, and not for nothing, maybe take a look at your dad.
- 33:16SPEAKER_00: And she goes, You didn't just and he goes, I did.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: And what way does my father reap gay to you?
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: And he goes, uh, well, he has a stud in his ear.
- 33:26SPEAKER_00: And then she goes, he got it on a trip to he took with a bunch of his male friends, and he goes, I she goes, I hear what that sounds like.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: It's too good.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: My favorite, my favorite episode, I think, is when Trishana takes crack and and they go to that party in Bushwick and they're like thrashing around.
- 33:48SPEAKER_01: That's okay.
- 33:49SPEAKER_01: And also I do love the um Marnie's wedding day episode, it's like season five, episode one, and um they're like all getting ready, and she tells the makeup artists that she wants to like do a nod to her cultural heritage, which is white Christian women, and then they're all like getting ready in various ways, and then like Jessa comes like walking up, and she's in like a gown, and she's like, I just bathed in the river at the end in the stream at the end of the garden, and Marnie's like rolling her eyes, and Hannah's like, and you look amazing, like that sounds gorgeous, and it's so good.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: Also, the episode where Marnie and Charlie go on that like tour of New York, so Charlie when they reunite, and then Charlie turns out that he's now addicted to crack, yeah.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, which was a serious serious cardboard for him, but that's actually such a beautiful episode, isn't it?
- 34:45SPEAKER_00: It's so harrowing, yeah, also so ridiculous.
- 34:48SPEAKER_00: He's now living on the streets with his like drug dealing like gang.
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: I don't think he lived on the streets.
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: I think he was like a functioning like heroin addict, basically.
- 34:58SPEAKER_00: But he was like living in some kind of squat or something like that, and then he'd just be like hanging out on the street.
- 35:03SPEAKER_00: I think she walks past him or something, and he like says something like derogatory to her, and she like tries to argue with him, then realize it's Charlie.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: It was a great app.
- 35:13SPEAKER_01: It is anyway.
- 35:14SPEAKER_01: So we're very excited about girls.
- 35:16SPEAKER_01: Um and what else is new this week?
- 35:21SPEAKER_01: Fontaine's DC's new album.
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: Have you heard it?
- 35:23SPEAKER_01: No, I haven't listened yet, which is I know really bad.
- 35:27SPEAKER_00: Okay, so dopamine chamber, Fontaine's DC new album came out this week.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: It's fucking great.
- 35:34SPEAKER_00: The Rosalia song was really good.
- 35:36SPEAKER_00: The Rosalia song is absolutely amazing.
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: Like amazing.
- 35:41SPEAKER_00: Um, and she's like that woman could that woman can just do everything.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: So she's gone from singing like fucking opera, like you know, ecclesiastical opera to now sort of like indie.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: Love that, bro.
- 35:59SPEAKER_00: It's really good.
- 35:59SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I recommend that.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: And have you seen the thing about Thomas Straker's restaurant?
- 36:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, I saw that he was taking over some space called like Lucky Strike or something.
- 36:12SPEAKER_01: I don't know what that means though.
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: In New York.
- 36:15SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's the guy, doesn't he own like Baltazar and stuff in I don't know.
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: New York.
- 36:21SPEAKER_01: Anyway, he's taken over, I think Thomas Draker's taken over like a s uh one of this guy, like a big restaurant here in New York, one of his like infamous spaces.
- 36:30SPEAKER_01: I think it's called Lucky Strike in the meat packing district, and um it's got a 30k 30,000 person waiting list.
- 36:38SPEAKER_00: Which is like so weird.
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: Like, how do people even know who he is?
- 36:43SPEAKER_00: How do people in America know who he is?
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: I read some of the.
- 36:48SPEAKER_01: Where is the meat packing district?
- 36:49SPEAKER_01: It's so low.
- 36:50SPEAKER_00: I have no idea.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: But like there was a like, for example, like so you know obviously he's notoriously a wanker.
- 36:57SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 36:58SPEAKER_00: Um alle allegedly.
- 36:59SPEAKER_00: Allegedly.
- 37:00SPEAKER_00: Um but like so, even for example, Vanity Fair wrote a piece thing about his new restaurant, and it's literally this is the title.
- 37:09SPEAKER_00: Keith McNally absolutely loathes Thomas Straker, loathes, and I'm like, lol, lol, lol.
- 37:15SPEAKER_00: That this is his like worldwide reputation now of being an absolute cunt.
- 37:20SPEAKER_01: That's the guy who owned no, but if you get to the end of that, that's the guy whose space he's rented the restaurant off.
- 37:27SPEAKER_00: Oh, right.
- 37:28SPEAKER_01: He owns, he started like Balthasar and like some other places.
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: Um I think he is actually British, but he was like born in New York, and he so I I read that article and I was like, oh my god, like someone like saying they hate his restaurant, like great, whatever.
- 37:47SPEAKER_01: And then I got to the end of it and it was like Thomas Drake is rented, like taking over his space, blah blah blah.
- 37:55SPEAKER_01: And I was like, oh right, so this is all some kind of like PR move.
- 37:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: I I love that that's the hook of like I love that so like in a room somewhere, some PRs have sat down and they've been like, okay, Thomas Drake is our client.
- 38:09SPEAKER_00: How can we sell his fucking products?
- 38:12SPEAKER_00: Right, everyone thinks he's a cunt.
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's lean into the cunt angle.
- 38:16SPEAKER_00: Like, do you know what I mean?
- 38:18SPEAKER_00: Like, how much of a cunt do you have to be that that becomes your fucking brand?
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: I can only imagine like how expensive it is, though.
- 38:27SPEAKER_01: Because I mean, I've never been to the London one, but I've heard it's so expensive.
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: Like£40 for a plate of pasta.
- 38:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely crazy.
- 38:37SPEAKER_01: Um, so I've never I've never been and I shan't be going.
- 38:41SPEAKER_01: Um because I just don't want to give him my money.
- 38:44SPEAKER_01: But I think he got really famous in America from his like butter TikTok videos.
- 38:48SPEAKER_00: It was his butter, which by the way, insane.
- 38:51SPEAKER_00: Why on earth would anyone need 50 different flavours of butter?
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: And also he's uh have you seen them in the shops?
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: They like yeah, they're first of all smaller than normal butter and they're like five pounds.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's just crazy.
- 39:05SPEAKER_00: It's crazy.
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: Wait, can we really quickly talk about the when uh during COVID when you had a bit of a crush on him?
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 39:14SPEAKER_01: This is like before in my defence was before we knew what he was like, yeah, and also I was going through a breakup, so I wasn't in my right mind.
- 39:25SPEAKER_01: Um, as all of my crushes start when I'm like losing my mind, basically.
- 39:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 39:31SPEAKER_01: Um, but we didn't know what he was like, and I just saw him on like TikTok.
- 39:36SPEAKER_01: I'd only just discovered TikTok as well, and he was just like just making like good food, and he was quite hot.
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: I mean he is kind of hot, like well, I don't find him hot anymore, but we did find him hot.
- 39:49SPEAKER_00: He was kind of giving like sexy, like bad boy chef.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:54SPEAKER_01: It but he yeah, he's like a bit haggard now, but um Yeah, it's too much, too much.
- 39:58SPEAKER_01: Speaking of speaking of Haggard, have you started watching War?
- 40:04SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 40:05SPEAKER_01: Obviously not Sienna Miller, she looks stunning.
- 40:10SPEAKER_01: I really I definitely noticed.
- 40:12SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 40:13SPEAKER_01: Do you think he looks worse?
- 40:14SPEAKER_01: He doesn't look good, but also um, so you know how he had the whole affair with Lily James and all the pictures came out, and we've spoken about this and how his wife had to like trudge up to the conferences.
- 40:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: Allegedly.
- 40:28SPEAKER_01: Well, I was having dinner the other day with uh a family acquaintance who's a producer, and she was telling us about how um there she did like a shoot for um the I want to say it was like the Vanity Fair, like a Vanity Fair party or like something of that effect, or like a big magazine or something like that.
- 40:53SPEAKER_01: And he was in it, and um he was like ended up flirting with like some random, like a girl that she worked with, like the person I know, and they ended up shagging on the steps of um like the building they were in.
- 41:08SPEAKER_01: So like apparently they were like flirting or whatever, and sh the girl was like, Oh, um, like thought they were she was like, Oh, like are we gonna go back to yours or something?
- 41:16SPEAKER_01: Because they were like very much like getting off or whatever.
- 41:19SPEAKER_01: And he was like, No, and just like shagged her on the steps of the building, like wouldn't even like take her home.
- 41:25SPEAKER_01: And I was like, Oh my god, he is such like a dirty dog.
- 41:29SPEAKER_01: I was like, This obviously allegedly, allegedly, allegedly, allegedly.
- 41:33SPEAKER_01: Um, but this obviously is not like the um no, we felt so sorry for his wife during the Lily James thing, but it's a hundred percent not the first time, and she obviously was livid because like they obviously live, like she obviously knows about it all, but that Lily James thing is the first time it was like in the press and out.
- 41:52SPEAKER_01: Well, do you know what?
- 41:54SPEAKER_01: Because we're not gonna so she was probably like, for fuck's sake, you've like fucked this all up and now I have to like act like I'm like I like you, yeah.
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: Well, I saw in uh an interview he gave not long ago that he was like, Oh yeah, we're so over that we laugh about it all the time now.
- 42:09SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, Yeah, of course you do.
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: Also, also don't you think it's a little bit on the nose to play a character that you have literally like publicly been exposed as being?
- 42:25SPEAKER_00: It's quite ballsy.
- 42:26SPEAKER_01: But that's obviously why they've why they've hired it, that why they've thought he was a good casting.
- 42:32SPEAKER_01: And like you won't have to try that hard, yeah.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: And he's but also they will know that will play into it, which is quite clever in a way.
- 42:40SPEAKER_01: But he's obviously they also thought he's probably not gonna say no because all he's doing is nationwide adverts.
- 42:45SPEAKER_00: So to be fair, I bet he gets paid a good pack it, yeah.
- 42:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:51SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, anyway, so I thought that was interesting.
- 42:54SPEAKER_01: And then we were talking about how like um uh like maybe like the Lily James affair thing was like press for um the pursuit of love, and I was like, I don't think so, because didn't he play like her dad?
- 43:08SPEAKER_01: That would have been quite a weird press.
- 43:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, just trying to like breadcrumb this like gorgeous romance between like Lily James and a much younger man, another actor.
- 43:20SPEAKER_00: That's really funny.
- 43:21SPEAKER_01: I mean oh girl.
- 43:26SPEAKER_01: Absolutely love that gosse.
- 43:27SPEAKER_00: Um, also allegedly, guys, we don't know if any of this is true, but if it is, that's a great story.
- 43:35SPEAKER_00: Um, any other gossip in your life at the moment?
- 43:38SPEAKER_01: No, the only thing I was gonna, I mean, I've said it to you before, but like I literally cannot go over Daisy Egg-Jones' glow up.
- 43:44SPEAKER_01: Like, her sense and sensibility press store has been one of the best things I've ever seen.
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: Her stylist is amazing, the clothes are insane, her hair is incredible, she's had some kind of subtle nose job, allegedly.
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: Well, actually, it's not even alleged, it I'm just saying it.
- 43:59SPEAKER_01: Um I'm just ready to be able to do that.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: No, but we don't we don't know for sure, guys.
- 44:03SPEAKER_00: Le legally, we don't know for sure.
- 44:05SPEAKER_01: But we do not know.
- 44:06SPEAKER_01: Looks like she might have.
- 44:08SPEAKER_01: But some but it's it I'm so transfixed by it because it's so subtle.
- 44:13SPEAKER_01: Like she still looks like her, but she just looks fucking amazing.
- 44:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know.
- 44:19SPEAKER_00: I have to say, like, it's made me I actually researched her surgeon this week.
- 44:27SPEAKER_00: But obviously nothing's been confirmed, so no names came up.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: But I was like, I need to I need to get my hands on this on this fucking name and number.
- 44:35SPEAKER_01: But it's so classy because like no she cut like no one can like people can guess and think it, but it doesn't like it also she still looks exactly like her.
- 44:48SPEAKER_01: Like she doesn't look like she's had she doesn't look like she's got a new nose or anything.
- 44:53SPEAKER_01: She j it just is like tweaked very slightly.
- 44:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 44:57SPEAKER_01: And I honestly am love I think she looks fucking great, and I'm just in awe of how stunning she is.
- 45:04SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 45:05SPEAKER_00: Well, just as I've as we've discussed, I think like fucking doing this video bloody aspect of this podcast has literally shattered my self-esteem.
- 45:17SPEAKER_00: I've never in my life, no human being should see themselves from all all the angles.
- 45:22SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
- 45:23SPEAKER_00: For like longer than five seconds.
- 45:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 45:25SPEAKER_00: It's not good for you, it's not good for the brain to be able to see your like fucking side profile in all of its like hideous glory.
- 45:31SPEAKER_00: Like, no, thank you.
- 45:37SPEAKER_00: But like my nose I didn't realise is completely off-center.
- 45:41SPEAKER_00: I also didn't realise how hooked, yeah, yeah.
- 45:44SPEAKER_00: I didn't realise how hooked it was.
- 45:46SPEAKER_00: It's not, it's really, really not.
- 45:49SPEAKER_00: And it's not good.
- 45:51SPEAKER_00: I get it, Jay Z.
- 45:53SPEAKER_00: I get it.
- 45:53SPEAKER_00: If you're in fucking TV, like Oh no, for sure.
- 45:57SPEAKER_01: I get it.
- 45:57SPEAKER_01: Like, she everything's just enhanced.
- 45:59SPEAKER_01: She looks honestly incredible.
- 46:01SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't know what she puts in the water that she washes her hair with, but it's amazing.
- 46:08SPEAKER_01: I would die for that hair.
- 46:11SPEAKER_00: I mean, you basically have her hair.
- 46:13SPEAKER_01: No, I don't.
- 46:15SPEAKER_01: It's so nice.
- 46:16SPEAKER_01: Well, no, I could I can't really have like a wispy bang.
- 46:19SPEAKER_01: My forehead's too small, but oh right, I forgot about her bangs.
- 46:23SPEAKER_01: A wispy bang.
- 46:24SPEAKER_00: A wispy bang.
- 46:25SPEAKER_00: You could have a little, you know, one of those kind of like uh hipster like really short bangs.
- 46:31SPEAKER_00: You could I think it would look like it.
- 46:33SPEAKER_00: No way.
- 46:37SPEAKER_00: No way, no way.
- 46:40SPEAKER_00: Uh so okay, so this weekend, are you chilling or are you going crazy?
- 46:45SPEAKER_01: I'm chilling.
- 46:46SPEAKER_01: I'm doing an autuburnal walk with my brother.
- 46:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:50SPEAKER_01: Doing a walk from Little Venice down Regents Canal through Camden and Islington.
- 46:58SPEAKER_01: Um, so that'll be cute.
- 47:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:01SPEAKER_01: And then Sunday, big plans, exciting plans.
- 47:05SPEAKER_01: I'm doing my summer to winter wardrobe transition.
- 47:10SPEAKER_01: Oh, and what's this gonna involve?
- 47:14SPEAKER_01: It's gonna involve me getting Ollie to get on a ladder up into the loft, bringing down all my winter clothes, and then putting up all my summer clothes.
- 47:23SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, dying.
- 47:24SPEAKER_00: So I didn't realise that they're not all just in the cupboard.
- 47:27SPEAKER_01: They have space, don't have space.
- 47:29SPEAKER_01: So all of so I do I did like I do like a trend changeover, and then I get rid of loads of stuff because you know, every six months you seem to accumulate just like things you don't need, don't you?
- 47:42SPEAKER_00: Um 100%.
- 47:43SPEAKER_00: I think I need to do the same.
- 47:45SPEAKER_00: Although, to be fair, I don't have enough stuff.
- 47:47SPEAKER_01: Um, although I've realized that you've got like a rail of like five pieces of clothes.
- 47:51SPEAKER_00: I know, and all of them are currently on vintage.
- 47:53SPEAKER_00: I'm like, just need the cash.
- 47:55SPEAKER_00: I'm like, take it off my back.
- 47:57SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna have anything to wear.
- 48:00SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 48:01SPEAKER_00: But I've also just last week I made some really fucking rogue vintage, like, you know, when you're like a bit tipsy on the bus, and I was like, of literally the first thing that came up on my like for you feed, I was like, oh, that looks like an alright bag.
- 48:12SPEAKER_00: Bought it, um, it arrived.
- 48:15SPEAKER_00: First of all, it looks like do you remember that um 90s like vibe, groovy chick, like those like squiggly characters?
- 48:22SPEAKER_00: It's like white with pink sort of like fastenings, and then like a sort of um chain that comes off it with like a pink heart.
- 48:32SPEAKER_00: It's hideous.
- 48:33SPEAKER_00: Not only is it hideous, the first day I used it, the the fucking strap broke, but it was too late for me.
- 48:40SPEAKER_00: I love that you're like, it's hideous, but I'm gonna use it.
- 48:42SPEAKER_00: Well, obviously, I'm like, I'm not fucking paid 40 quid for nothing.
- 48:45SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I'm getting every single day without this.
- 48:50SPEAKER_00: I know, and then I also, also the day before bought a pair of these black sunglasses.
- 48:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, also 40 quid, didn't realise that they were prescription lenses, so when they arrived, they're like the strongest prescription I've ever seen in my life.
- 49:04SPEAKER_00: I tried to wear them.
- 49:05SPEAKER_00: I walked into the TV immediately, like completely blind.
- 49:10SPEAKER_00: No, and then I was like, maybe I'll change the lens, like maybe they'll suit me.
- 49:14SPEAKER_00: Put them on, they are like an inch wider than my face.
- 49:18SPEAKER_00: I look like Dame Edna.
- 49:20SPEAKER_00: That's that's ADHD vintage shopping.
- 49:22SPEAKER_00: I know, but how upsetting is that?
- 49:25SPEAKER_01: So annoying.
- 49:26SPEAKER_01: Anyway, so annoying, and you got a dress delivered to a place that doesn't exist.
- 49:31SPEAKER_01: So do you want to know about that?
- 49:34SPEAKER_00: No, well, they did refund me.
- 49:36SPEAKER_00: So basically, I ordered a bridesmaid dress for our friend's wedding uh off vintage.
- 49:40SPEAKER_00: It I accidentally put in the wrong postcode and the right name of the street address.
- 49:46SPEAKER_00: Anyway, we can't find it anywhere.
- 49:49SPEAKER_00: Vintage says it's lost, blah blah blah blah blah.
- 49:51SPEAKER_00: I then like met I on nextdoor.com, you know, that fucking website where you can talk to people in your neighborhood.
- 49:57SPEAKER_00: I posted being like, has anyone seen this door?
- 50:00SPEAKER_00: Because I got sent the door where it got delivered.
- 50:03SPEAKER_00: No one responded.
- 50:04SPEAKER_00: People act people were actually so cunty on that.
- 50:07SPEAKER_00: They're like fucking like cat, they're all Karen's.
- 50:09SPEAKER_00: People replied being like, um, darling, I think um think it's lost.
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: I think you're gonna have to just accept that it's lost.
- 50:16SPEAKER_00: And I was like, all right, Susan from Grove Park, just don't comment if you've got nothing nice to say.
- 50:22SPEAKER_00: Anyway, then my mum texts me last week and goes, a pupil of hers, my mum's a teacher, a pup, an ex-pupil texted her with a picture of my package, being like, is this a a family relation of yours?
- 50:38SPEAKER_00: Because it had been sent through their door.
- 50:40unknown: Yeah.
- 50:41SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, that's amazing.
- 50:42SPEAKER_00: And you got a refund.
- 50:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 50:44SPEAKER_00: Free dress.
- 50:46SPEAKER_01: That's the universe.
- 50:48SPEAKER_01: That is the karma of the universe.
- 50:50SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, that's so exciting.
- 50:52unknown: Yeah.
- 50:55SPEAKER_01: Chronic anxiety, like got a vintage refund and package.
- 51:00SPEAKER_01: Um, that's really exciting.
- 51:02SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, on that note, and that happy note.
- 51:06SPEAKER_01: Should we wrap it up?
- 51:07SPEAKER_01: I think we should wrap it up.
- 51:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:09SPEAKER_01: All right, love you.
- 51:11SPEAKER_01: Love you, bye.
