- 0:00Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:03access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi. It's Adam here, and in today's
- 0:43episode of The Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a
- 0:46hypnosis session designed to encourage the client that I was
- 0:50working with to feel comfortable and relaxed trying new foods.
- 0:56And I appreciate that if you are looking to lose weight, that
- 1:02this might not be the ideal session for you.
- 1:04And I've got lots of other hypnosis sessions that are based
- 1:07on weight loss and reducing the amount of food that you eat.
- 1:11And it wasn't that this client wanted to eat lots of food, it
- 1:14was that they wanted to feel comfortable trying different
- 1:18foods. Their selection of foods they
- 1:21felt comfortable with was relatively small and that put
- 1:25them in stressful or pressured situations if they were in
- 1:30certain social situations or outside of eating with their
- 1:34family. And they didn't really want to
- 1:36feel that way. So this is a hypnosis session
- 1:39all about the idea of testing and trying things in a low
- 1:47stakes environment. Because imagine if you really
- 1:51struggle to try new foods and the only time you tried new
- 1:54foods is in a really precious situation where you feel like
- 1:57people are judging you. That's probably not the best
- 2:01environment or the most conducive environment to feeling
- 2:03relaxed. So you get this circular thing
- 2:06where the self fulfilling prophecy gives you more evidence
- 2:09that you can't try new foods. This hypnosis session uses a low
- 2:14stakes environment like an all you can eat buffet.
- 2:18And in a buffet you've got so much choice that you get to try
- 2:21very small portions of lots of different foods and if you don't
- 2:25like it, you just don't eat it and leave it on your plate.
- 2:28There's also elements of time distortion here because the
- 2:31client felt most comfortable with the foods that they'd eaten
- 2:35many times before. So it has this idea that this
- 2:38isn't the first time they go into this buffet.
- 2:40They've been there many, many, many times and tried many
- 2:43different foods. And the key goal is to actually
- 2:46place it from the future into the past, which actually feels
- 2:50like they've already tried this food before and liked it.
- 2:54And therefore that turns it into something less intimidating or
- 2:59less like a big deal. It's turning it into something
- 3:03very manageable, very comfortable, and worth trying.
- 3:08So if you're listening to this, it might be they're either
- 3:12you've got too used to eating the same foods all the time and
- 3:16many people have this, you know, very short selection of foods.
- 3:20They just have the same kind of thing.
- 3:22Their shopping basket looks exactly the same week after
- 3:25week. So if you want a bit more
- 3:26variety, you might benefit from this session.
- 3:28Or if you are a self-described fussy eater, this might also
- 3:34give you the ability to feel inspired to try different types
- 3:39of foods. Of course, this was created for
- 3:43a very specific individual and therefore this session may not
- 3:47map across to your reality or your needs, but some of it may
- 3:52be useful. And as always, if you like the
- 3:55idea of working with me directly, there will be that
- 3:58opportunity to do so. Just click the link in the show
- 4:00notes or visit my website adamcox.co.uk and there'll be a
- 4:04link there where you can book a free 30 minute consultation call
- 4:07on Zoom to explore the possibility of working with me.
- 4:11For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 4:13won't be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 5:00Take a deep breath in. As you breathe in, breathe in a
- 5:10feeling of positive relaxation, and as you exhale, allow your
- 5:20body to relax and settle, to be calm, comfortable and calm.
- 5:31As you breathe in again, breathe in even deeper than before,
- 5:36filling your lungs. And as you breathe out, if your
- 5:45eyes aren't already closed, allow them to close on your
- 5:52outward breath. With your eyes closed, feel
- 5:58yourself sinking deeper into a sense of comfort, a deep sense
- 6:07of relaxation. And I wonder if you could
- 6:17imagine a warm sensation, like a wave of relaxation, moving from
- 6:26the top of your head down through your shoulders, your
- 6:32arms, chest, all the way to the tips of your toes, where every
- 6:41muscle, every nerve is releasing any tension, letting go,
- 6:54becoming loose and relaxed and heavy.
- 7:06And as you drift deeper into relaxation, what if your mind
- 7:12begins to open, to become receptive, willing and ready for
- 7:22a new experience? I want to use the power of your
- 7:34imagination to imagine a large television screen or projector.
- 7:47Imagine sitting in a comfortable chair looking at that screen and
- 7:52I wonder if you could imagine seeing yourself standing in
- 7:57front of a grand, luxurious, all you can eat buffet.
- 8:05The kind of place where every type of food you can imagine is
- 8:11beautifully displayed, freshly prepared with the finest
- 8:16ingredients, just waiting to be enjoyed.
- 8:27So see yourself as if you're starring in a movie, walking up
- 8:34to the buffet, and maybe you can notice a calm confidence in the
- 8:42way you move, a curiosity in your expression.
- 8:51See yourself reaching for a plate, walking down the line of
- 8:56food, but notice how you are admiring the colours, the smell,
- 9:05the textures, the variety. And as you watch yourself, you
- 9:26notice that you're trying foods that you haven't eaten before or
- 9:33don't eat often. Maybe you see yourself reaching
- 9:44for a piece of sushi, a slice of lasagna, A flavourful Taco or a
- 9:54tender steak. See yourself filling up a plate
- 10:00with all different types of foods, knowing that food is
- 10:06always left on a plate in a buffet.
- 10:10So you get to try anything you like without any expectations,
- 10:18and then see yourself sitting down at a table, taking a bite,
- 10:24chewing slowly. But notice from your facial
- 10:28expressions that you are enjoying the experience.
- 10:40See yourself enjoying the flavours, some surprising, some
- 10:47delightful. But also notice that if there's
- 10:51a taste that doesn't quite appeal to you, simply move on
- 10:56unfazed, just as anyone would while finding their preferences.
- 11:12Because this is your imagination.
- 11:15We can play with time. See yourself coming back to the
- 11:20buffet again and again, and you're wearing different
- 11:23clothes, so you know it's not the same occasion.
- 11:28And maybe you see yourself looking different, You get the
- 11:36sense that you're coming back to this buffet again and again over
- 11:39time, perhaps days, weeks, months, even years in this
- 11:46movie, on this screen, in your imagination.
- 11:50And each time you try a few more foods, some becoming new
- 11:57favourites. And with each return, your
- 12:02confidence grows. Your willingness to try new
- 12:07foods feels natural, enjoyable, curious and exciting.
- 12:25And then imagine rewinding this movie to the beginning.
- 12:38And step into that version of you on the screen, just about to
- 12:43enter this luxurious, all you can eat buffet.
- 12:54Feel yourself walking in, feel the energy of the room, the harm
- 13:01of conversation of other people there, and the warm aroma of
- 13:07delicious food in the air, and you feel calm, at ease, excited
- 13:14to be here. And there is no pressure, no
- 13:19expectations, just a sense of opportunity and adventure in
- 13:27taste. So imagine picking up a white
- 13:32plate, walking along the buffet, see all different foods from all
- 13:41different regions of the world, and you don't have to choose
- 13:46anything if you don't want to. But as you look around, you feel
- 13:55a natural curiosity, a gentle pull to explore.
- 14:05Perhaps you start with something familiar, like a plate of hot
- 14:10chips, and as you take a bite you notice.
- 14:15How could it feels to eat something familiar and
- 14:19enjoyable, but something new catches your eye.
- 14:27Maybe sushi, a different style of chicken or a pasta dish
- 14:33you've just never tried before. Imagine reaching for it, placing
- 14:42it on your plate, feeling a quiet confidence growing within
- 14:48you. Notice the smells, the colours,
- 14:52the textures even. Imagine feeling the heat coming
- 14:56off the food. And then imagine sitting down
- 15:01and taking a bite and notice how open you feel to the experience.
- 15:11There is relaxation around your jaw, around your neck.
- 15:18You breathe in a slow, relaxed way.
- 15:21This feels very comfortable. And as you eat the food, some
- 15:27flavours surprise you, some delight you.
- 15:30And if you find A flavour, a texture or a food you don't
- 15:37enjoy, it's perfectly fine. You simply acknowledge it,
- 15:45knowing that everyone has foods they like and foods they don't.
- 15:50It's all part of the journey. There is no failure here, only
- 15:58discovery and discernment. And each time you take a bite of
- 16:08something new, it feels like a small success, a stepping stone
- 16:16forward. You realise that trying new
- 16:24foods is enjoyable, an act of discovery, an experience to
- 16:31enjoy and to savour. And maybe you notice that this
- 16:38confidence feels even stronger when you're hungry.
- 16:44That anticipation, that readiness to eat, amplifies your
- 16:49willingness to explore new flavours.
- 16:54It feels like waiting for your favorite food, but here in this
- 16:58buffet, trying something new. And the more you do this, the
- 17:06more natural it becomes, the more you allow yourself to enjoy
- 17:12food in a way that feels good, exciting and empowering.
- 17:20And imagine coming back to this buffet time after time, on
- 17:25different occasions. Or maybe a new buffet, a new
- 17:30place to try different foods. And you know that because your
- 17:35clothes are different and it feels like a different day, a
- 17:39different week, a different month.
- 17:42And the more times you come, the easier it feels and the more
- 17:48tempted you are to try at least 1-2 or three new things.
- 17:54And some of these things become favourites and other things you
- 17:59never want to try again. It's all fine.
- 18:10As you take another deep breath in and then release that breath.
- 18:17Allow these feelings of confidence, curiosity and
- 18:21comfort to settle within you. Allow yourself to carry this
- 18:27sensation with you beyond this moment, beyond this experience.
- 18:36Perhaps you could imagine looking into that screen and
- 18:42seeing yourself no longer in a buffet, but somewhere where you
- 18:48might be likely to try new foods.
- 18:52But it's changed. That unease has changed to
- 18:57confidence and comfort. Hesitation has changed to a
- 19:05willingness to try any food that doesn't appeal to you.
- 19:16You just move on, unaffected, knowing that it's no big deal.
- 19:24From this moment forward, trying new foods feels easier, more
- 19:30relaxed and even more exciting as you realize that you are in
- 19:37control, choosing what you want to explore, embracing the
- 19:44adventure, enjoying new flavours and enjoying the process of
- 19:53growth and expansion. Very soon, it's time to leave
- 20:02this chair, this screen, this. Journey in your imagination,
- 20:08returning to the present. But you will return feeling a
- 20:12sense of inspiration, a willingness to try, especially
- 20:17in situations where there's nothing to lose and everything
- 20:24to gain. So take a deep breath in through
- 20:30your nose and out through your nose and just wiggle your
- 20:36fingers and wiggle your toes. Start to connect and calibrate
- 20:40with the here and the now as very soon I count from 1:00 to
- 20:4410:00 to awaken you and you will return with that sense of
- 20:49comfort and inspiration returning with you.
- 20:54Starting to count 123 Waking up 456 More alert 7 eights Open
- 21:04your eyes. Open your eyes 910 Wide awake,
- 21:09Wide awake. Wide awake.
