- 0:21Speaker 1: Showtime. Here we go and we are live. Okay, good
- 0:26Speaker 1: Hello everybody, our friends on the YouTube's and people listening
- 0:32Speaker 1: and watching the playback. This is still comfy with Jules
- 0:35Speaker 1: and Nat. And on this week's episode, we are discussing
- 0:39Speaker 1: the rom com holiday favorite Love Actually. I'm your host
- 0:46Speaker 1: of Pop Culture Makes Me Jealous, Julia Washington, where we
- 0:49Speaker 1: analyze pop culture through the lens of race or gender
- 0:52Speaker 1: and sometimes both, And I'm joined by my regular co
- 0:57Speaker 1: host Natalie Katona, who I will like introduce herself now.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Hi everyone, I'm Nabli Katona, host of All the Men
- 1:05Speaker 2: I've Tolerated before, your weekly look at every day misogyny.
- 1:10Speaker 2: And although the holidays made me stress cry the entire weekend,
- 1:15Speaker 2: I did manage to watch Love Actually last night because
- 1:18Speaker 2: I felt like it fit the theme of just being
- 1:22Speaker 2: morosely disappointed in the holidays.
- 1:26Speaker 1: And if you were watching, because we are using a
- 1:29Speaker 1: third party app to stream, we don't know you're here,
- 1:33Speaker 1: so tell us in the comments say hello. And if
- 1:36Speaker 1: you're watching the replay, you can still respond to us
- 1:39Speaker 1: in the comments because we look at those things and
- 1:43Speaker 1: it's time stamped, so we know at which point you're
- 1:45Speaker 1: referring to so to do. A quick summary for those
- 1:50Speaker 1: who maybe don't watch Love Actually as much as I do.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Here's the description from IMDb. Love Actually follows the lives
- 1:59Speaker 1: of a very different couples in dealing with their love
- 2:01Speaker 1: lives and various loosely interrelated tales, all set during a
- 2:06Speaker 1: frantic month before Christmas in London, England. And it starts
- 2:12Speaker 1: a lot of folks. We've got Emma Thompson, We've got
- 2:15Speaker 1: Liam Neeson, We've got Hugh Grant.
- 2:18Speaker 2: We have a British person there in the movie.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty much, and even like local to Britain fame
- 2:25Speaker 1: folks as well. Martin Freeman, isn't it when he's a
- 2:28Speaker 1: little baby? Posts the office pre Sherlock pre mcu. Jeez,
- 2:35Speaker 1: I loved him and I just love him.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a little baby.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Please don't ever play a gross character that I'm aware of,
- 2:42Speaker 1: because that will drastically change my relationship with you and
- 2:45Speaker 1: I can't handle that. So I just kind of want
- 2:51Speaker 1: to dive in. There's eight couples. I counted seven.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Do they count the musician and his manager as like
- 3:02Speaker 2: the final couple.
- 3:03Speaker 1: That's kind of what I was thinking too.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Har Liam Neeson and that random blonde.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Lady Claudia Schiffer look alike, who actually was Claudia Schiffer
- 3:13Speaker 1: or his dead wife.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Or the dead wife. M h. Now do you just
- 3:21Speaker 2: do you want to do it couple by couple or
- 3:23Speaker 2: do you want to do it stream of conscious?
- 3:27Speaker 1: You know that's a hard that's hard because they're all
- 3:30Speaker 1: like the like the descripture says, they're all loosely interconnected.
- 3:34Speaker 1: So here's the couples. I have the Prime Minister and Natalie,
- 3:38Speaker 1: Jamie and Aurelia, Mark and Juliet. So the Prime Minister
- 3:41Speaker 1: Natalie that's Hugh Grant storyline. Jamie and Aurelia that's Colin Firth.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Mark and Juliet that is Kiara Knightley and her her
- 3:52Speaker 1: the dude she did not marry. Yeah, Carl and Sarah
- 3:55Speaker 1: that is Rodrigo what is his last name? I forget
- 3:58Speaker 1: his last name? And Laura Lenny Mia and Harry that's
- 4:02Speaker 1: Alan Rickman and his subordinate just Judy and Jack that
- 4:08Speaker 1: is Martin Freeman. They are the couple who are the
- 4:10Speaker 1: stand ins for the porn which we can talk about
- 4:13Speaker 1: that at some point. I h listed Sam and Joanna,
- 4:16Speaker 1: which is the little boy who's now grown as an adult,
- 4:20Speaker 1: and his love interests that we allus run. Yeah, he's
- 4:24Speaker 1: so cute. And so those are the eight couples I heard,
- 4:29Speaker 1: the seven couples I have. And then of course you
- 4:31Speaker 1: do have Billy Mack and his manager, which I guess
- 4:33Speaker 1: you could totally qualify because at the end he is like,
- 4:36Speaker 1: turns out you're the one I fucking love because I
- 4:38Speaker 1: just spent the last forty years.
- 4:39Speaker 2: With you exactly. And here's the thing, Bill Night only
- 4:43Speaker 2: man I trust in this movie. He's the only one
- 4:46Speaker 2: ever telling the truth.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I wanna say. He's so honest. His character's so honest.
- 4:50Speaker 1: And what's interesting is that when I was watching the
- 4:54Speaker 1: twenty year anniversary special with Diane Sawyer, they talk about
- 4:58Speaker 1: how he was just a stand in. That character hadn't
- 5:01Speaker 1: been cast yet, so he was just a stand in
- 5:03Speaker 1: for the table read, and he did such a brilliant job.
- 5:06Speaker 1: They were like, hey, do you want the role?
- 5:08Speaker 2: How dad? They reduce Bill Nye to the stand in, And.
- 5:14Speaker 1: You know, he's this accomplished theater actor like most British
- 5:17Speaker 1: people are, because they have actual academies and schools for
- 5:21Speaker 1: teenagers to study this craft and it's like a respected thing,
- 5:27Speaker 1: and so yeah, I thought that that was like the
- 5:29Speaker 1: most interesting thing I learned from the twenty year special
- 5:32Speaker 1: from Diane Sawyer.
- 5:34Speaker 3: I love Bill Nye in all iterations.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Anytime Bill Nye pops up in anything, I'm like, oh,
- 5:41Speaker 2: is he gonna get naked like at the end of Lovee?
- 5:43Speaker 1: Actually, well, he really is a brilliant actor, which you know,
- 5:47Speaker 1: and he's the opener. He's he's what opens the movie
- 5:51Speaker 1: because they're redoing that song love is all Around, but
- 5:55Speaker 1: it's like Christmas is all around instead.
- 5:57Speaker 2: The ghost of Hugh Grant opens the movie with the
- 6:00Speaker 2: entire monologue about how love, like Christmas, is all around.
- 6:05Speaker 2: And I'm like, in a very post COVID like meltdown
- 6:10Speaker 2: the world is ending mindset, I'm like, would Hugh Grant
- 6:13Speaker 2: still make this monologue about how love is in fact
- 6:17Speaker 2: all around?
- 6:19Speaker 3: Because that's not what I'm seeing at target.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, and you know, they do have very specific
- 6:26Speaker 1: locations that they're talking about, right two thousand and so
- 6:29Speaker 1: this movie is in two thousand and three, so we're
- 6:30Speaker 1: two years after nine to eleven, and they do reference
- 6:33Speaker 1: that in the film because I think nine to eleven
- 6:35Speaker 1: is one of the few worldwide events where the entire
- 6:39Speaker 1: world was like, the fuck just happened? Not cool? And
- 6:44Speaker 1: so placing it at that sort of space of the
- 6:48Speaker 1: airport and in the airport has changed so much. And
- 6:52Speaker 1: how we behave in the airport, we're allowed to do
- 6:55Speaker 1: and not do in the airport has changed so much,
- 6:57Speaker 1: and even since two thousand and three. I don't know,
- 7:01Speaker 1: but I think it's here's the thing. Here's the thing.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I don't know where we're gonna start, so I'm just
- 7:07Speaker 1: gonna dive into what bothers me the most.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Oh Okay, I thought you were about to be like
- 7:11Speaker 2: a love actually apologist, Like I realize that in our
- 7:15Speaker 2: year of the Lord and Savior twenty twenty two, that
- 7:18Speaker 2: we have decided that love actually is trash. But I'm
- 7:22Speaker 2: here to tell you that I watch it every Tuesday
- 7:24Speaker 2: for the holidays season.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Listen. First of all, Okay, I'm gonna address what you
- 7:29Speaker 1: just said. I do watch it on Thanksgiving every year
- 7:32Speaker 1: after with a huge glass of wine. Hello, Mario, we
- 7:36Speaker 1: miss you too. Welcome to the show. It is an
- 7:40Speaker 1: annual tradition. But here's the thing. Every year I find
- 7:46Speaker 1: something new where I'm just like, well, This is just
- 7:49Speaker 1: not great. This scenario is just not great and this year,
- 7:55Speaker 1: and usually it's the por the porn standing scenes because
- 7:58Speaker 1: you literally don't need these characters. They don't tie in
- 8:01Speaker 1: to anybody but Colin Fistle's friend whose name I forget,
- 8:05Speaker 1: who's sort of like this connector in a way, but
- 8:08Speaker 1: you really don't need them because they're not connected in
- 8:10Speaker 1: the same way as like some of the other storylines.
- 8:14Speaker 2: But yet they're the ones that I think are the
- 8:16Speaker 2: only ones that take time to form a connection where
- 8:19Speaker 2: they have things in common.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I don't know if it's frozen on all ends or
- 8:22Speaker 1: just mine and they're with us there we go, okay,
- 8:28Speaker 1: so they're the only ones who are actually forming a relationship.
- 8:31Speaker 1: That's where you were going.
- 8:31Speaker 2: They're the only one, like you know, they're thrusting against
- 8:34Speaker 2: one another and whatever, but they're chatting about like their
- 8:36Speaker 2: hobbies and their mom. Yeah, and.
- 8:40Speaker 1: It's super sweet and like genuinely talking, like when I've
- 8:45Speaker 1: never seen anything more romantic than when they're like cut
- 8:48Speaker 1: her titties and he's like, okay, I know, he's like
- 8:51Speaker 1: hold on, but he also like do you mind? He
- 8:54Speaker 1: also yeah, which I love because the conversation of consent
- 8:59Speaker 1: wasn't really happening in two thousand and three.
- 9:01Speaker 2: No, Martin Freeman is our first intimacy coordinator.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Yeah, and he taught us all what we needed to
- 9:08Speaker 1: know this time around. Though. What was really just like,
- 9:12Speaker 1: oh fuck no, was all of the workplace romances, yes,
- 9:18Speaker 1: which you know twenty years ago we were brainwashed into
- 9:22Speaker 1: believing that's what you were supposed to do to have
- 9:24Speaker 1: a relationship, to get booed up was shop around work,
- 9:29Speaker 1: because where else are you going to meet somebody.
- 9:31Speaker 2: In our capitalistic hell hole?
- 9:34Speaker 1: Uh huh. And the only one that isn't a subordinate
- 9:38Speaker 1: boss situation is Laura, Lenny and Rodrigo. They're colleagues, whereas
- 9:43Speaker 1: everybody else is a boss employee scenario.
- 9:48Speaker 2: It makes me so sad that that beautiful man's name
- 9:51Speaker 2: is Carl, Like, it just doesn't sit right back here
- 9:56Speaker 2: when you're trying to make love to a Carl.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I've seen in when Harry mtc Sally. You don't make
- 10:02Speaker 1: love to a Sheldon.
- 10:04Speaker 2: A Sheldon like, there's just like this sensation right at
- 10:07Speaker 2: the back of my throat when I was like Carl
- 10:12Speaker 2: that it's never getting sexier than that. And he's a
- 10:15Speaker 2: beautiful man who gorgeous, who we don't see in movies
- 10:20Speaker 2: very often. I'm like, where is this man?
- 10:22Speaker 1: He's a Brazilian actor. I think he's a I think
- 10:25Speaker 1: he's primarily, you know, based in Brazil. I don't know.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Maybe it was shaken.
- 10:32Speaker 2: I started The White Lotus last night, and The White
- 10:34Speaker 2: Lotus could use carl from Love. Actually it's a perfect
- 10:40Speaker 2: movie for help.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Oh, the season finale of The White Lotus is a Sunday, right,
- 10:45Speaker 1: do I know? I don't know, Mario, if you're still watching,
- 10:47Speaker 1: you're the one who told me when the season finale was,
- 10:49Speaker 1: and I told you I would start watching it fortis
- 10:51Speaker 1: before this season finale.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Do we only have one season or do I have
- 10:56Speaker 3: two seasons?
- 10:57Speaker 1: There's two seasons. Yeah, the second season started a few
- 11:00Speaker 1: weeks ago. And because I don't know how many episodes
- 11:02Speaker 1: are in each season, but I don't like to I
- 11:05Speaker 1: want to. I want to wait until the end of
- 11:07Speaker 1: until I can get through all. Guess it's coming the Sunday. Okay,
- 11:10Speaker 1: the season finale of White Lotus is coming the Sunday,
- 11:12Speaker 1: which means I will start season one on Thursday seven episode.
- 11:16Speaker 1: So maybe I should actually started Friday.
- 11:18Speaker 2: I I accidentally started the sex Lives of College Girls
- 11:24Speaker 2: when they were in like episode four of season two,
- 11:27Speaker 2: and I was like, fuck, now I have to watch
- 11:29Speaker 2: this like weekly at.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Least there's two episodes at a time, as opposed to
- 11:35Speaker 1: one a week.
- 11:36Speaker 2: I have not caught on to that. I am as
- 11:38Speaker 2: they would call it a more on.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Okay, so here's my next question. Mm hmm, the Prime
- 11:47Speaker 1: Minister a predator or a really sweet story? Do you know?
- 11:57Speaker 1: Did you can come up ring?
- 12:01Speaker 3: Because here's my problem with Hugh Grant.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I would love my dream world, like if we could
- 12:08Speaker 2: rewrite the timeline. This is the timeline I want to
- 12:11Speaker 2: be in. I want Hugh Grant and Colin Firth to
- 12:14Speaker 2: be these very bumbly awkward, overly polite, I don't know
- 12:19Speaker 2: what to do with my hands, let alone my face,
- 12:22Speaker 2: Matt Like it's a dream.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Isn't that? Literally Hugh Grant in every rom com minus
- 12:27Speaker 1: Bridget Jones.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Correct. I just want Hugh Grant and Colin Firth to
- 12:31Speaker 2: have coffee together every day and just be like Hugh.
- 12:36Speaker 3: At the waitress like that's all I want.
- 12:38Speaker 2: But then we have to remember that when you and
- 12:40Speaker 2: I were very young, Hugh Grant was one of the
- 12:43Speaker 2: very first sex addicts that we were ever exposed to.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Poor Liss Hurley. She took it like a cham.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Like I am justice for Liz Hurley.
- 12:54Speaker 2: So then like my mind's like, ah, he's always trigging
- 12:56Speaker 2: me into believing that he's a good guy, and here
- 12:58Speaker 2: he is, like fucking the help. But he's got those
- 13:03Speaker 2: baby blues and he's just bumblebumble bumble. And there's something
- 13:09Speaker 2: about their first interaction where she says shit a series
- 13:13Speaker 2: of times and then it escalates to fuck yeah, where
- 13:16Speaker 2: I'm like, he's so cute in that interaction because there's
- 13:20Speaker 2: like a little like aha moment to him that makes
- 13:24Speaker 2: me believe that there was a genuine connection. And then
- 13:28Speaker 2: he's so awkward and I don't know what to do
- 13:31Speaker 2: with my hands, but I don't know where to place
- 13:34Speaker 2: him on the predator list.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Well because later, because we know that his sister in
- 13:39Speaker 1: the movie is Emma Thompson's character, and later when they
- 13:43Speaker 1: are staking into the primary school, she literally says to him,
- 13:46Speaker 1: up twenty years ago, you would have been his type.
- 13:50Speaker 1: So that establishes a massive age gap.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Yeah it shared does?
- 13:55Speaker 3: It shared does?
- 13:58Speaker 2: And they refer to her as like the hebby girl
- 14:00Speaker 2: is trying to mad and they're trying to make it
- 14:03Speaker 2: like Hugh Grant shouldn't be attracted to her, and I
- 14:06Speaker 2: was like, she's the cutest girl in the show, like.
- 14:10Speaker 1: And it's like when he's like, would we call her
- 14:14Speaker 1: she's in the assistance, like what that's a pretty sizable ass,
- 14:18Speaker 1: huge thighs and you're just like she literally says. Natalie
- 14:22Speaker 1: literally says I was dumped because my boyfriend thought my
- 14:26Speaker 1: thighs were too thick, and now everyone's calling her fast
- 14:28Speaker 1: like are you kidding me?
- 14:33Speaker 2: Meanwhile, Hugh Grant wants some thighs wrapped around his face,
- 14:36Speaker 2: like he's like I can't wait to be crushed by
- 14:38Speaker 2: those thighs.
- 14:41Speaker 1: And she's not even sad or like large, like she
- 14:45Speaker 1: to me looks like your average woman of that age.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Yes, honestly.
- 14:53Speaker 4: The thing that I have the biggest problem, I mean
- 14:54Speaker 4: with the gorgeous face, yeah, beautiful to the Hugh Grant
- 14:59Speaker 4: romance is that I was like, I just feel like
- 15:01Speaker 4: it's really irresponsible for us to be making national policy
- 15:07Speaker 4: based off of you being fragile.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Because Billy Bob Thornton felt up the girl that you like,
- 15:12Speaker 2: I was like, but then we did dedicate an entire
- 15:14Speaker 2: show called Scandal around that concept.
- 15:18Speaker 1: And I think too, because there is this view that
- 15:22Speaker 1: America is the bully. I think for me, that's it's
- 15:25Speaker 1: always been deeper than that. It's always been like, you know,
- 15:28Speaker 1: Billy Bob Thornton hitting on Natalie was like the final
- 15:31Speaker 1: straw of like, you know what, you guys are not
- 15:34Speaker 1: good for us, so we're going to take a stand
- 15:37Speaker 1: as opposed to like it just being you know, him
- 15:40Speaker 1: being fragile.
- 15:41Speaker 2: And let me be clear, even from when this movie
- 15:43Speaker 2: first hit the media, when they cast Billy Bob Thornton
- 15:49Speaker 2: as the president of these United States, I was like, yes,
- 15:53Speaker 2: I go, Billy Bob Thorton is the representation of every
- 15:56Speaker 2: president we've had except for Obama.
- 15:58Speaker 1: About how I have predators still wrong? Thank you, Mario.
- 16:04Speaker 2: I thought he was laughing because I'm so funny. He's
- 16:06Speaker 2: laughing because you can't spell.
- 16:08Speaker 1: We all know I can't spell. This is not new, oh,
- 16:13Speaker 1: ellen Ada.
- 16:16Speaker 3: But Billy Baldwarton is our predator president.
- 16:19Speaker 2: The fact that he hasn't even tried to run for
- 16:21Speaker 2: president for me like blows my mind because I was like, no,
- 16:25Speaker 2: This is our truest representation of America and American men
- 16:32Speaker 2: in politics, unless you are Obama, who was a baby
- 16:36Speaker 2: angel and a ray of sunshine in my life. Everyone
- 16:39Speaker 2: else Billy Bob Thorton, like it just auto fills now.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I get that. I totally get that. You know,
- 16:46Speaker 1: twenty issue years nineteen years ago, I was like, oh
- 16:49Speaker 1: my god, I love how he's so sweet about her,
- 16:53Speaker 1: and I love that he's.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Like, you know, just so, I don't know, I just
- 17:00Speaker 2: thought of we're seeing her from that guy that wears
- 17:02Speaker 2: Angelina Jelly's blood. Yeah.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Is this so it's two thousand and three. Is this
- 17:06Speaker 1: the Angelina era for Bob Billy Bob Thornton.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Hmmm. Interesting either way. Now, as a grown ass adult
- 17:18Speaker 1: who's had, you know, several instances that could be qualified
- 17:21Speaker 1: as sexual harassment in the workplace, I'm not comfortable with,
- 17:25Speaker 1: like your boss being attracted to an employee, Like I'm
- 17:29Speaker 1: over that a particular story trope, if you will.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Also, because I think this was a perfect segue into
- 17:37Speaker 2: how I don't like I haven't watched this movie since
- 17:40Speaker 2: Alan Rickman died, and it's because I didn't need this
- 17:44Speaker 2: movie to be part of my grieving process because I'm
- 17:46Speaker 2: mad at.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Him the whole movie and he and so for me,
- 17:51Speaker 1: that storyline was really hard because he's kind of like, well,
- 17:56Speaker 1: I'm just sort of going along following this woman's money,
- 18:00Speaker 1: where really it's like, sir, you're the boss. You have
- 18:04Speaker 1: it in your power to shut that shit down, but
- 18:08Speaker 1: instead you're letting her do it and being that person
- 18:12Speaker 1: who's like, well, I don't know what I'm doing because
- 18:15Speaker 1: I've never been been attractive to super hot women before.
- 18:18Speaker 1: What do I do now? And You're like, you shut
- 18:22Speaker 1: it down. You're the boss, you shut it down.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Well, and my whole thing is I was like, love
- 18:26Speaker 2: actually should have been my first like Ford way into
- 18:30Speaker 2: realizing that that's how easy it is to distract straight
- 18:34Speaker 2: men from air form. They're like fully developed relationships. Is
- 18:39Speaker 2: like literally just sitting in a chair and like suggesting
- 18:42Speaker 2: that your legs.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Are open, that's enough for them to throw their marriage away.
- 18:47Speaker 1: And buy you a gold necklace and.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Buy you a three hundred dollars necklace.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Like, honestly, Natalie, I wish it were that easy because
- 18:54Speaker 1: I used to be a very hot woman at one point,
- 18:57Speaker 1: and no one ever bought me jewelry that expensive?
- 19:00Speaker 2: But did you basic attraction them before lunch?
- 19:05Speaker 1: In a version of not necessarily like I just.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Full on wearing a skirt situation. I just combined basic
- 19:14Speaker 2: instinct and fatal attraction.
- 19:16Speaker 1: But we all know, we all know what you meant.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Well close in the chair, it makes sense, yeah, Sharon
- 19:23Speaker 2: Stone in the chair, it makes sense.
- 19:25Speaker 1: But like literally because because fatal attraction is a man's
- 19:27Speaker 1: worst nightmare, right, and basic instinct is like whatever, but
- 19:32Speaker 1: the point is.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Eye contact with him and then opened her legs and
- 19:38Speaker 2: Alan Rickman was like Emma Thompson, who ys me with rage,
- 19:44Speaker 2: Like the idea that Emma Thompson would ever be wronged
- 19:48Speaker 2: like literally drives me to violence. I'm like, oh, I'm.
- 19:52Speaker 1: So do you want to hurt Eric Banna because he
- 19:54Speaker 1: cheated on her when they were married?
- 19:56Speaker 2: Eric Bana? How the fuck dare you? I'm coming him coming?
- 20:00Speaker 2: Do not walk these streets, Eric Banna, And don't think
- 20:04Speaker 2: that I'm gonna not scream at you. You're not that
- 20:07Speaker 2: good looking. You weren't the best looking person in Troy.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Stop it. I'm gonna find does he walking these streets thinking?
- 20:20Speaker 2: He say, because I didn't know that A he got
- 20:23Speaker 2: to marry Emma Thompson and like he daughter, absolutely not,
- 20:31Speaker 2: I am going to find him.
- 20:34Speaker 1: It was the late eighties. She actually recently just opened
- 20:37Speaker 1: up about how hard that was for her and what
- 20:39Speaker 1: it did for her something.
- 20:40Speaker 2: It's hard for me right now, Emma, it's hard for
- 20:43Speaker 2: me right now.
- 20:46Speaker 1: The other part that's really hard about that storyline is
- 20:48Speaker 1: that they have this really beautiful moment about Joni Mitchell,
- 20:52Speaker 1: and she's like, Joni Mitchell taught me to love like
- 20:55Speaker 1: you are welcome. And then and then the gift he
- 20:58Speaker 1: gets her is a Joni Mitchell, which is really thoughtful,
- 21:02Speaker 1: but not the thoughtful gift she thought, no, And that
- 21:07Speaker 1: makes me mad because it's like, well, what is like
- 21:10Speaker 1: you are perpetuating this. I'm a bumbling fool who only
- 21:13Speaker 1: thinks with my penis troupe.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I love Joni Mitchell, and I credit Emma Thompson
- 21:20Speaker 2: to it because I'm obsessed with her. I'm sessed with
- 21:24Speaker 2: her and she is beautiful and she's so wickedly smart
- 21:29Speaker 2: and witty and all of it that like, literally Eric
- 21:33Speaker 2: Vahannon cannot walk these streets and not that I'm going
- 21:36Speaker 2: to give him a piece of my mind.
- 21:37Speaker 1: She's too good for him. She probably was always too
- 21:39Speaker 1: good for him.
- 21:42Speaker 2: It's like, it's like, how, oh, who cheated on? Mini Driver?
- 21:45Speaker 2: And I was like, that's it. I'm lining in the
- 21:47Speaker 2: world up, Oh Damon right now? Damon? Do you know
- 21:52Speaker 2: how we say Matt Damon's name because they put him
- 21:55Speaker 2: in that puppet movie Matt Damon, That's how I say
- 21:58Speaker 2: his name. I can't say his name the correct way.
- 22:02Speaker 2: And he gatd on. Mini Driver also a beautiful woman
- 22:07Speaker 2: on the Mini Driver like I will literally just light
- 22:10Speaker 2: the world on.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Fire, convinced her to be his under his with his
- 22:15Speaker 1: talent agent, which ultimately tanked her career. For hot second,
- 22:19Speaker 1: I just finished her memoir by way of Celebrity book Club,
- 22:22Speaker 1: and so they recapped it. So then I was like, well,
- 22:24Speaker 1: that sounds like an amazing memoir, and so I downloaded
- 22:27Speaker 1: it and read it.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Honestly, like the fact that I still don't have a
- 22:31Speaker 2: chance with Mini Driver and Emma Thompson, even though they
- 22:34Speaker 2: let the Eric Vannas of the world and the Matt
- 22:36Speaker 2: Damon's of the world touch them. Yeah, I'm gonna light
- 22:40Speaker 2: this house on fire, Penelope pack our shit.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Well, I don't need you to be homeless, but also
- 22:47Speaker 1: if you let your own sit on fire, it's not
- 22:49Speaker 1: a felon, as I also don't need you to be
- 22:51Speaker 1: a felon.
- 22:53Speaker 2: You know, when the when the violence hits, it hits.
- 22:56Speaker 2: I tested multiple people who were at you last night.
- 22:59Speaker 2: The mirror thought that Alan Rickman would look at a
- 23:03Speaker 2: woman that wasn't Emma Thompson ever filled me with violence
- 23:08Speaker 2: from my toes to my head. It very much felt
- 23:11Speaker 2: like when I thought I wasn't getting Taylor Swift tickets.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Who, by the way, a bunch of Swifties filed lawsuits
- 23:18Speaker 1: from thirteen different states against ticket Master about that whole.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Departmental because make fun of us, basic bitches.
- 23:23Speaker 2: We love Taylor Swift all you want, but who's changing legislation.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Who's all of a sudden rock in the boat?
- 23:30Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I do want to add too, that Emma
- 23:34Speaker 1: Thompson Alan Rickman storyline in the end after the Christmas play,
- 23:39Speaker 1: and she's like, I caught you, you piece of shit,
- 23:44Speaker 1: and she's very emotionally distraught because this is her entire life.
- 23:48Speaker 1: That performance is beautiful one two, and then she has
- 23:52Speaker 1: to turn around and make her children feel loved and supported.
- 23:57Speaker 1: And cared for. Like that scene in itself perfectly encapsulates
- 24:04Speaker 1: what it's like to have a full range of emotions
- 24:07Speaker 1: when you are a woman and a mother and a
- 24:10Speaker 1: mother with a family and a husband, like all of it.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Like I that scene gets me every time because nineteen
- 24:18Speaker 1: years ago, I felt the emotion I felt for her.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Fast forward nineteen years I'm a mother myself. I've had
- 24:24Speaker 1: multiple relationships myself, and it's it's just you're there. There's
- 24:30Speaker 1: no better performance.
- 24:32Speaker 2: You know what I'm gonna I'm gonna make Penelope, right,
- 24:35Speaker 2: Emma Thompson a thank you card, because maybe that's why
- 24:38Speaker 2: I decided to uncancel Christmas and put the Christmas tree up,
- 24:42Speaker 2: because Emma Thompson had to be there for her kids
- 24:44Speaker 2: even though Alan Rickman is an emotionally stunted asshole, and
- 24:48Speaker 2: Penelope loves the Christmas tree. So I was just looking
- 24:51Speaker 2: at her crying, yeah, and I was like, I'm gonna
- 24:55Speaker 2: put the Christmas tree up for you because it is
- 24:58Speaker 2: not your involved that everyone what I shared name with
- 25:01Speaker 2: is an emotionally stunted asshole. That is not on you.
- 25:05Speaker 2: He's not on you.
- 25:06Speaker 1: It's not her fault.
- 25:08Speaker 2: She's yeah. So she's gonna write Emma Thompson and thank
- 25:11Speaker 2: you letter, and that's how we're gonna become friends.
- 25:14Speaker 1: I love that. Okay. So we talked to the Prime Minister,
- 25:17Speaker 1: we talked to Alan Rickman, and also Alan.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Rickman and Emma Thompson seem to have a very strong marriage,
- 25:24Speaker 2: and I think that that's what pisses me off more
- 25:26Speaker 2: because it's like it truly doesn't matter how strong your
- 25:29Speaker 2: marriage is if they get distracted.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Yeah, and Senny, and how dare you get distracted because
- 25:37Speaker 1: you clearly love your wife? Like that was the other
- 25:39Speaker 1: part for me where it was just like I don't understand,
- 25:42Speaker 1: like you clearly are in love with Emma, Like what
- 25:44Speaker 1: is happening?
- 25:45Speaker 2: And how far would have gone if she did not
- 25:48Speaker 2: know about the necklace because we knew where it was
- 25:50Speaker 2: heading right right. And then he's like, oh, I guess
- 25:54Speaker 2: I'm a dick. Do you think, Sir Alan Rickman, do
- 25:59Speaker 2: you think do you think?
- 26:01Speaker 1: Do you think was he unighted?
- 26:03Speaker 2: I don't know. Oh, okay, I assume that they're all
- 26:06Speaker 2: knighted and to just avoid to avoid like insulting them,
- 26:13Speaker 2: they're all Sir Alan Rickman, Oh my god, I love it.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Sir Colin Firth, even in the hot leather Pants from
- 26:21Speaker 2: What a Girl Wants Sir Colin Firth.
- 26:24Speaker 1: All right, so it takes us to Jamie and Aurelia.
- 26:27Speaker 2: I love Colin Firth, and this movie just makes me
- 26:29Speaker 2: so disappointed.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Because again it's another employee, subordinate situation.
- 26:35Speaker 2: In another situation where she can't even communicate her consent
- 26:39Speaker 2: to you. Yeah, like you saw her boobs in like
- 26:43Speaker 2: a department store or barra and you're like, you are
- 26:46Speaker 2: exactly who will make my ego and my penis forget
- 26:51Speaker 2: that my girlfriend is fucking my brother right now?
- 26:54Speaker 1: Yeah, parts of me this time around were still like
- 26:57Speaker 1: us is still really cute though, because he's it's just
- 27:00Speaker 1: like it shows that, you know, in Okay, I know
- 27:05Speaker 1: you're gonna rip me to shreds for.
- 27:07Speaker 2: This as an apology tour.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I'm a prepared for that. But here's what I love
- 27:11Speaker 1: about their storyline. How it shows that you can still
- 27:15Speaker 1: sort of exist next to each other and feel safe
- 27:20Speaker 1: and comfort and it's not like and it's so like
- 27:27Speaker 1: the you know how music is like the universal language.
- 27:30Speaker 1: It's like telling us that love is also a universal language, right,
- 27:34Speaker 1: Like it doesn't matter that there's a language barrier. They
- 27:36Speaker 1: can parallel exist and still find comfort.
- 27:39Speaker 2: You sound like the parents that won't, like learn sign
- 27:42Speaker 2: language when their child is deaf. It's like, why do
- 27:45Speaker 2: we have to he knows we like him.
- 27:47Speaker 1: No, that's I feel like that's different because they do.
- 27:49Speaker 1: They both do in the end, go and learn. Yeah,
- 27:53Speaker 1: there's language so they can communicate.
- 27:56Speaker 3: I just need you to know that the whole idea
- 28:00Speaker 3: that like the vibes will send me to love because
- 28:04Speaker 3: it's just your pheromones.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Do you know how many times I fucked a narcissist
- 28:08Speaker 2: because the vibe felt good. I was like, this feels okay,
- 28:11Speaker 2: this feels like it won't emotionally damage me for about
- 28:15Speaker 2: three more months, so might as well do it now.
- 28:18Speaker 2: The pheromones. I mean, could you imagine how easy it
- 28:25Speaker 2: is to gaslight someone who doesn't speak your language. You're
- 28:29Speaker 2: just making up what that person is saying to you.
- 28:32Speaker 1: But they're not talking to each other. That's the thing that.
- 28:36Speaker 2: They're just talking in the atmosphere.
- 28:39Speaker 1: They're near each other, existing around each other, and it's
- 28:42Speaker 1: not unsafe. I think that's the part that gets me.
- 28:45Speaker 2: So you're saying that Colin Firth gets to be a
- 28:48Speaker 2: romantic in this movie because he didn't sexually assault his housekeeper.
- 28:54Speaker 1: It's not even sexually assault hers that he like was
- 28:59Speaker 1: like in a position where he's not He's just not
- 29:05Speaker 1: a terrible person, Natalie, He's not a terrible guy. Like,
- 29:08Speaker 1: that's the bar?
- 29:09Speaker 2: Where's the bar in the situation?
- 29:11Speaker 1: I don't know where the bar is.
- 29:12Speaker 3: The bar is on the ground. You do know where
- 29:14Speaker 3: the bar is. The bar is on the ground.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Could have been. He could have taken his pain and
- 29:20Speaker 1: anger out on Aralia or anybody else, and he doesn't.
- 29:24Speaker 2: So he was a perfect, perfectly closed off, polite brit Man.
- 29:29Speaker 2: And you're like, you know what, what a romantic? Let
- 29:33Speaker 2: me get that bar? Say?
- 29:34Speaker 1: Did I say? I guess I'm implying there's romance.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Okay, let me get that bar. Let me the bar
- 29:40Speaker 2: is on the ground. The bar is on the ground.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Also on his end, too, all he did was see
- 29:46Speaker 2: her breast, and he's like, and I will never think
- 29:50Speaker 2: of anyone else again.
- 29:52Speaker 1: No, I think it started sooner than that. I think
- 29:54Speaker 1: it starts sooner than that for.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Him with what with what context? Could have started sooner
- 30:00Speaker 2: than that?
- 30:00Speaker 1: When the what's her face? Introduces them the person who
- 30:04Speaker 1: coordinates it. I think he sees her and goes, oh wow,
- 30:07Speaker 1: she's really pretty and like, rather than being like Hugh
- 30:11Speaker 1: Grant's character, it's like I'm fucked. He's like more polite
- 30:15Speaker 1: and reserved about it.
- 30:20Speaker 2: So we're now ready to move onto that relationship literally
- 30:23Speaker 2: only being based upon him being broken up with and
- 30:27Speaker 2: her being pretty and accessible.
- 30:30Speaker 1: That's literally every relationship that starts after a breakup.
- 30:36Speaker 3: And is that where's that bar?
- 30:40Speaker 2: So?
- 30:40Speaker 1: Instead of like, I'm not I'm not saying.
- 30:46Speaker 3: So, instead of using his cabin time to do circle
- 30:49Speaker 3: breasts and grow and reflect and be like why do
- 30:53Speaker 3: I date women who want to fuck my brother? Instead
- 30:57Speaker 3: he put he glombed all of what he wanted his
- 31:02Speaker 3: original girlfriend to be onto a woman who is just
- 31:06Speaker 3: there to clean his house and make his.
- 31:08Speaker 1: I don't agree with that.
- 31:09Speaker 2: I did not even talk to her.
- 31:12Speaker 1: I think he's using the writing the novel to work
- 31:15Speaker 1: through his emotions and frustrations about that scenario with his
- 31:19Speaker 1: brother and girlfriend. I think ker murder, Yes, I think
- 31:25Speaker 1: he's My theory is is that his girlfriend is the
- 31:29Speaker 1: one a character that's like his girlfriend who was cheating
- 31:31Speaker 1: with his brother and his brothers.
- 31:36Speaker 2: I know.
- 31:36Speaker 1: That's what writers do.
- 31:38Speaker 2: You know, that's what novelists do. A great romantic like
- 31:45Speaker 2: Lead because he took all of his anger and crazy
- 31:48Speaker 2: and put it in a book instead of killing his housekeeper,
- 31:51Speaker 2: because that could have been the watcher.
- 31:53Speaker 1: I'm not saying instead of killing his housekeeper. I'm saying
- 31:56Speaker 1: that's what writers do. They take their emotions, they take
- 32:00Speaker 1: their pain.
- 32:00Speaker 2: They tried to find the bar and it's gone. It's
- 32:05Speaker 2: just like it left. Penelope, did you knock her around
- 32:08Speaker 2: the bar? Do you think, Manela? I didn't hear her
- 32:13Speaker 2: knocks on the floor. It's on the floor. And I
- 32:18Speaker 2: love Colin Firth. I am t what was my favorite
- 32:21Speaker 2: part of Mama Mia? Fuck the rest of that movie
- 32:26Speaker 2: A Mama Mia is watching Colin Firth look like a moron.
- 32:30Speaker 1: That's what he does movies, because think about him and
- 32:33Speaker 1: Bridget Jones, Yes.
- 32:36Speaker 2: And that that is how they guesslight Iss jewels by
- 32:39Speaker 2: looking like lovable dupuses, because that's how Hugh Grant did
- 32:42Speaker 2: it too, because how you Grant did it too, And
- 32:46Speaker 2: then he cheated on Elizabeth Hurley.
- 32:50Speaker 1: And then herself by doing movies like Nodding Hill and
- 32:57Speaker 1: Love Actually and whatever other rom coms.
- 32:59Speaker 3: And then do you remember how hard we made fun
- 33:01Speaker 3: of that sex worker?
- 33:02Speaker 2: Was her name Diamond?
- 33:05Speaker 1: Oh? I don't remember.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Anyways, I get her picture is seared into my brain
- 33:10Speaker 2: because did we make fun of Hugh Grant for cheating
- 33:13Speaker 2: on Elizabeth Hurley? No, we made fun of how this
- 33:17Speaker 2: sex worker looked and that she was able to bag
- 33:20Speaker 2: Hugh Grant.
- 33:25Speaker 3: It's how they get us with the whole. Like, I'm
- 33:28Speaker 3: just a dupist. Watch me try to wedge into these
- 33:31Speaker 3: rock and roll leather.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Pants, Amanda Vines. I love Colin Firth. I'm always on
- 33:38Speaker 2: team Colin Firth. I love to watch him bumble around.
- 33:41Speaker 2: But like, I feel like their story is.
- 33:44Speaker 1: The laziest Okay, okay, that's fair, which begs me to ask,
- 33:53Speaker 1: who is the least cringey coumple.
- 33:55Speaker 2: I told you it's a porno couple.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Oh that's right, you did say that.
- 33:59Speaker 2: I love the porno couple. I think that they That
- 34:03Speaker 2: is actually what a meet cue is.
- 34:05Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, And technically I wouldn't even classify them as
- 34:11Speaker 5: like one of those weird workplace romances because they're clear, like,
- 34:15Speaker 5: because in that business, you're always on different sets, So
- 34:19Speaker 5: this is the first time they've encountered one another out one.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Yeah, in this scenario they are colleagues though, yeah, in
- 34:25Speaker 1: this time and place, they are colleagues. Oh so I
- 34:28Speaker 1: didn't even have them classified as colleagues. When I was
- 34:30Speaker 1: listing off my situation the situations, I was thinking of
- 34:33Speaker 1: Harry and Mia Maya, Mia whatever, Yeah, Carl and Sarah,
- 34:38Speaker 1: and then I was thinking of the Prime Minister Natalie. Yeah,
- 34:43Speaker 1: so there's actually more because then there's just Judy and Jack.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a borno couple. They're the actual ones who
- 34:52Speaker 2: are like, this is funny. We have to be naked,
- 34:55Speaker 2: and like, let me remind everyone in the audience that
- 35:00Speaker 2: not Colin Firth, because I don't think he would ever
- 35:02Speaker 2: be able to pull it off, but Colin Farrell when
- 35:05Speaker 2: they were shooting. No, it wasn't about Colin Ferrell. It
- 35:08Speaker 2: was another one of my heart throbs. When they were
- 35:11Speaker 2: filming the Alexander movie, Bell Kelmer used to throw the
- 35:16Speaker 2: lighting so he could rub up against a naked Angelina
- 35:20Speaker 2: Jolie Moore. I remember that being a headline, Like I'm like,
- 35:24Speaker 2: so we're just talking about this that's so gross And
- 35:29Speaker 2: now we have intimacy coordinator.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but also I'm curious. I don't know a whole
- 35:35Speaker 1: lot about the industry and how pornography has made I
- 35:39Speaker 1: just know that they have to take STD tests. That's
- 35:41Speaker 1: what I know. Also, but I'm wondering how often do
- 35:45Speaker 1: you have stand ins like that for lighting and stuff
- 35:48Speaker 1: like that. I'm confused by that this was.
- 35:51Speaker 2: A watch through because this time he like I actually
- 35:54Speaker 2: clocked him mentioning that he had stood in for Brad
- 35:57Speaker 2: Pitt and I.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Was like, yeah, he yeah, for like seven years into
- 36:01Speaker 1: bed or something like that.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Yeah, And I was like, so is it a porno
- 36:05Speaker 2: or are they honestly just doing stand in four sex
- 36:09Speaker 2: scenes that would be in a movie until the actors
- 36:14Speaker 2: can be on set and feel like they don't have
- 36:17Speaker 2: to do this for hours.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Oh that's a good, that's a great.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Because they also look like the like the porno with
- 36:23Speaker 2: the biggest budget I've ever seen there, like in Buckingham Palace.
- 36:28Speaker 1: So it's like maybe a period piece.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Yeah. So I'm like, I wonder if it's just like
- 36:32Speaker 2: some smutty like Bridgerton like Harriet piece and they're like, well,
- 36:39Speaker 2: we're not gonna make I'm trying to think of another
- 36:45Speaker 2: distinguished English actress who isn't in this.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Movie from that era from two thousand and three. We're
- 36:54Speaker 1: just in general, oh, like Emma Watson or something.
- 36:57Speaker 2: So we're not gonna make Emma Watson be rubbed up
- 37:00Speaker 2: against by Billy Boyd for three hours. We're instead of
- 37:07Speaker 2: going to bring in these stand ins. Get the lighting right,
- 37:10Speaker 2: get the angles right, and get the shots right. So
- 37:12Speaker 2: when Emma Watson has to get naked, she only has
- 37:16Speaker 2: to be naked for twenty five minutes.
- 37:19Speaker 1: But also that's the assumption that you're working with a
- 37:21Speaker 1: cast where both leads are the same coloring, so you
- 37:25Speaker 1: can do pre lighting like that. Well, because like my
- 37:29Speaker 1: sister and I, you can't do the same lighting on
- 37:30Speaker 1: my sister and I and we come from the same parents.
- 37:33Speaker 1: You just can't. It's the light.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Then they would have different stand ins.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Right, which actually then brings to love Actually is not
- 37:41Speaker 1: a diverse movie.
- 37:44Speaker 2: There's one black guy and his friend is trying to
- 37:47Speaker 2: fuck his wife, and I'm like, why Rick from Walking Dead?
- 37:50Speaker 1: There's two. There's the one who's friends with Colin Fisele
- 37:54Speaker 1: who goes to the US, who is the connector for
- 37:58Speaker 1: just Judy, And there's another one that he connects but
- 38:05Speaker 1: then yeah, yeah, and then the other Sam and Julia
- 38:08Speaker 1: is that his name Sam?
- 38:10Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 38:12Speaker 1: No, Sam is the kid, but yeah, I don't know
- 38:15Speaker 1: how to say his last night.
- 38:17Speaker 3: But I literally poked my brainstorm out of the colnth
- 38:24Speaker 3: Thistle part of the movie because I was like, I
- 38:26Speaker 3: cannot sit through this.
- 38:29Speaker 1: But at the end though, when he walks into like
- 38:32Speaker 1: a Wisconsin bar and he's like and they're like, oh my.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Jones, so I was sorry.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I was like, girl, I cannot tell you how many
- 38:44Speaker 1: times I have been in that scenario. Not the whole
- 38:46Speaker 1: we sleep naked in bed and you can join us ship,
- 38:48Speaker 1: but the whole like, oh, that guy's from England. Let's circle.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Let's circle and see how he picks the.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Trope is completely valid. It's not the American part that
- 38:58Speaker 2: pisses me off. It's literally everything that leads up to
- 39:01Speaker 2: the America part where he's like sexually harassing like waitresses
- 39:06Speaker 2: and co workers, and then he's like bitching to his friend.
- 39:09Speaker 2: I don't understand why I'm single. I'm so nice and
- 39:12Speaker 2: charm me. I told Brenda she was too fat to
- 39:16Speaker 2: date me anyways, But I'm a nice guy, like that's
- 39:22Speaker 2: what I'm like. No, I was like, I will not.
- 39:25Speaker 3: This is like, this is like pre love is blind.
- 39:28Speaker 2: I shouldn't have to know that. This is how men
- 39:30Speaker 2: talk to about us to their friends. Yeah, you know
- 39:36Speaker 2: I had to like I had to like poke it
- 39:37Speaker 2: out of my brain. I was like, we're gonna erase it.
- 39:40Speaker 2: It's too traumatizing.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Yeah, do you want to talk about Mark and Juliet?
- 39:45Speaker 1: Is that Kiera Knightley m hm is because that scene
- 39:49Speaker 1: it's say it's Carol Singers the cue card. Shit shows
- 39:52Speaker 1: up in so much stuff now.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Shit like that's something that's cute. It's like, it's not
- 39:57Speaker 2: cute to betray your best friend. But in Minty to
- 40:00Speaker 2: his wife, like you're in love with her.
- 40:03Speaker 1: You know what I appreciate about it is that he's like,
- 40:05Speaker 1: here's why I've been a dick. I'm letting it go now.
- 40:08Speaker 1: I like that's like, like I appreciate that he's not
- 40:11Speaker 1: like continuing on. I appreciate that he's like, hey, I've
- 40:15Speaker 1: been a dick because it turns out I'm in love
- 40:16Speaker 1: with you. But I'm also gonna stop now because it's
- 40:18Speaker 1: gonna ruin everything.
- 40:20Speaker 2: This is also where I have to break it to
- 40:22Speaker 2: you that number one. I don't know what it is
- 40:24Speaker 2: about Kiara Knightley, but I hate her.
- 40:27Speaker 1: That's the way a lot of people do.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Everyone's vibe, everything about her face pisses me off. Before
- 40:33Speaker 2: we knew that Johnny Depp was an asshole, I believe
- 40:35Speaker 2: she had ruined the pirates of the care franchize for me,
- 40:41Speaker 2: Like there's some there are just people. When I see them,
- 40:45Speaker 2: I'm like, their face pisses me off. Edward Cullen from Ann,
- 40:51Speaker 2: Kristen Stewart from Twilight, They piss me off, like my
- 40:55Speaker 2: whole body. Their face pops up and I'm like, I
- 40:58Speaker 2: fucking just can't. Josh Grobin. Also, I would punch Josh
- 41:03Speaker 2: Grobin in the throat. And he's done nothing wrong. I
- 41:05Speaker 2: find sure he will do and he has the voice
- 41:09Speaker 2: of an angel. But Sue Sylvester one time said on Glee,
- 41:14Speaker 2: fuck you Josh Groban, and I was like, that's exactly
- 41:17Speaker 2: how I felt the entire time.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Oh my god. Okay, So but but back to Juliet
- 41:24Speaker 1: and Mark.
- 41:26Speaker 2: So this is also where I have to bring it
- 41:27Speaker 2: to you that I do believe that love can be
- 41:31Speaker 2: a choice, and there are certain situations where you pump
- 41:35Speaker 2: the break on it.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I literally what does he here?
- 41:39Speaker 2: A nightly? She literally says, you've never liked hanging out
- 41:43Speaker 2: with us, so like he got hard once at a
- 41:46Speaker 2: bar and was like, I'm in love with my best friends.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Why he doesn't have to say anything to her for
- 41:53Speaker 1: him to be in love with her? Like that's I
- 41:55Speaker 1: think something like being in someone's presence. Doesn't this one.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Mean No, it's creepy. It's creepy. I'm also over it's
- 42:04Speaker 2: a very usque concept where I was at the bookstore
- 42:08Speaker 2: stocking you and we've never had any interaction ever in
- 42:14Speaker 2: your It's.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Not that they haven't had interaction ever. He's the best
- 42:19Speaker 1: friend of her husband, so they've had situations they've like
- 42:22Speaker 1: I interpreted it as they've hung out a lot, and
- 42:27Speaker 1: Mark is like, I can't do this because I'm in love.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Like every time I hang out with you guys, and
- 42:33Speaker 1: she opens her mouth, I'm falling more and more in
- 42:35Speaker 1: love with her, and it's hard, and so it's like
- 42:38Speaker 1: a like it's like a defense mechanism to be a dick.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Correct, But I do think that at some point you
- 42:44Speaker 3: just puhmed.
- 42:45Speaker 2: The brakes on it. You literally date anyone else does.
- 42:49Speaker 2: That's the whole point.
- 42:53Speaker 1: But that's the whole point of his story, because it's like, well,
- 42:57Speaker 1: you know, he it's like, how long it's I think
- 43:00Speaker 1: it's it's not that I think that getting caught is
- 43:03Speaker 1: the point for him where he's like, oh fuck, I
- 43:06Speaker 1: have to stop. I think that's what it is for him.
- 43:10Speaker 3: He's the Uncle Keith of this movie.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Like, I've just been living my life, planning a wedding,
- 43:18Speaker 2: going to trivia with my soon to me husband. His
- 43:21Speaker 2: weird ass friend doesn't speak to me and is often
- 43:26Speaker 2: very rude. And then, just like Uncle Keith did to Karen,
- 43:31Speaker 2: he shows up on my porch and he's like, have
- 43:36Speaker 2: you not noticed that? Surprise? I'm in love with you
- 43:40Speaker 2: and you're meant to be with me. No, it is,
- 43:43Speaker 2: it's to you should have taught I need someone to
- 43:47Speaker 2: page pen badly, because he would. He would he would
- 43:51Speaker 2: agree with me. I know someone.
- 43:53Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know if he will, dude, I
- 43:55Speaker 1: don't know if he would agree with you specifically about
- 43:57Speaker 1: love is actually, but somebody on Twitter did say to
- 44:00Speaker 1: him like, oh my god, I'm obsessed with Joe. I
- 44:03Speaker 1: want this character Toda and Penn Badgley was like, no,
- 44:07Speaker 1: you don't. What is wrong with our culture that this
- 44:10Speaker 1: is deemed a desirable situation.
- 44:13Speaker 2: So and Joe from You is the extreme because he
- 44:17Speaker 2: actually murders and harms people. But I am also saying
- 44:20Speaker 2: that the Uncle Keiths and Rick in Love is Blind
- 44:23Speaker 2: are as creepy because they're just like silently in your vicinity,
- 44:30Speaker 2: making up these love stories in their head about you,
- 44:35Speaker 2: and then one day you're just living your life and
- 44:39Speaker 2: they're like, bah, but that's.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Something that we are sold as women that we should want.
- 44:46Speaker 1: You want somebody to notice that you're adorable, to notice
- 44:49Speaker 1: that you're intelligent, to notice that you're all these things,
- 44:51Speaker 1: and to come to you and say, hey, I've noticed
- 44:54Speaker 1: all of these amazing things about you that no one
- 44:57Speaker 1: else has noticed.
- 44:58Speaker 2: And I'm saying that now this is the time where
- 45:01Speaker 2: I am always going to call this out as creepy.
- 45:03Speaker 2: The Uncle Keys of the World and the Rick that's
- 45:07Speaker 2: not his name, and the Love is Love actually movie,
- 45:11Speaker 2: but he's Rick from The Walking Dead with a baby
- 45:13Speaker 2: face Mark in Love. Actually, they're creepy. They are creepy people,
- 45:19Speaker 2: men who just sit next to you glaring at you
- 45:22Speaker 2: at trivia and then one day show up at your
- 45:24Speaker 2: house and then they're like, you didn't realize that.
- 45:26Speaker 1: But glaring is a very specific connotation that that that
- 45:32Speaker 1: aligns with being creepy. Like I don't think like glaring
- 45:36Speaker 1: is what Joe does. I think Mark is not glaring
- 45:40Speaker 1: because in that first scene when he's looking through his
- 45:43Speaker 1: video camera watching Juliette dance and have a good time,
- 45:47Speaker 1: he's literally like Laura Lenny's character literally pulls up to
- 45:51Speaker 1: him and is just like, are you in love with him?
- 45:52Speaker 1: Because she's sensing the love vibe and the adoration. It's
- 45:58Speaker 1: not glaring.
- 45:59Speaker 3: And I I'm saying that on the eve of my honeymoon.
- 46:06Speaker 2: If I'm just sitting around you like, yeah, babe, strain
- 46:09Speaker 2: that popcorn. We're gonna put it round the tree. And
- 46:13Speaker 2: fucking Eric Banna shows up on my porch with Q cards.
- 46:19Speaker 1: If Eric Banna shows up on your porch, We've got
- 46:22Speaker 1: other problems.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Right because I'm gonna get violent.
- 46:24Speaker 1: But it's not been known to be a good person.
- 46:27Speaker 1: I feel like it's like Owen Wilson.
- 46:30Speaker 3: If Owen Wilson shows up.
- 46:32Speaker 1: On my also a questionable person.
- 46:36Speaker 2: Questionable people. I can't who are we supposed to pick
- 46:39Speaker 2: Timothy shall Am. I he's just.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Follow Doomwatch. She's got a list of people who have
- 46:45Speaker 1: never been reported as being creepy or cheaters or all
- 46:49Speaker 1: that kind of stuff.
- 46:52Speaker 2: It took Jeremy Runner's wife like decades to be like, uh,
- 46:56Speaker 2: now that this Avengers series is wrapping up for him,
- 47:00Speaker 2: hope that Disney Plus show goes real. Well he pushed
- 47:04Speaker 2: me down the stairs or whatever he did that, I
- 47:07Speaker 2: just always blinked at as pushed me down the stairs,
- 47:10Speaker 2: because Christian bo did that to his mother in law once.
- 47:16Speaker 2: But I'm just saying, if Uncle Keith, if Chad Michael
- 47:22Speaker 2: Murray shows up on my forge and I'm just living
- 47:28Speaker 2: my life, and or or even because let's take it
- 47:32Speaker 2: back before we're at the que cards.
- 47:35Speaker 6: If I am sitting in Chad Michael Murray's garage studio
- 47:41Speaker 6: and I'm like, pop in that tape and it's all
- 47:44Speaker 6: these creepy close up shots of me, I'm concerned.
- 47:48Speaker 2: And she said through that whole movie, I was like, girl,
- 47:51Speaker 2: get up. I was like, women need to start having
- 47:53Speaker 2: more self reservation. I'm like, girl, get up, He's gonna
- 47:56Speaker 2: put you in that joke cube in his basement, get
- 48:00Speaker 2: up because it's creepy. It is creepy for me to
- 48:03Speaker 2: believe that I'm just living my life thriving. And you're
- 48:10Speaker 2: just like, soa, because this is what Uncle Keith does,
- 48:12Speaker 2: and I'm pretty sure this is what Rick does too,
- 48:14Speaker 2: and you're just like soulking on the peripheral of my
- 48:18Speaker 2: success and my hot girl shit. And you're like, well,
- 48:22Speaker 2: let her do that hot girl shit and I'm in
- 48:25Speaker 2: love with her. But you've never actually like and this
- 48:29Speaker 2: is where it kind of differs with uncle Keith, because
- 48:31Speaker 2: Uncle Keith had like a father role in Karen's kid,
- 48:35Speaker 2: so they did have very intimate conversations. But with this
- 48:40Speaker 2: Rick man, and it's like, so, you've never sat down
- 48:44Speaker 2: and talked to me about my hopes, my dreams, why
- 48:48Speaker 2: I'm so good at hot girl shit whatever. You've just
- 48:53Speaker 2: gotten a little bit of a tickle in your dick
- 48:57Speaker 2: and you're like, ah, and now you're making it my problem.
- 49:02Speaker 2: I have to live for the rest of my marriage
- 49:05Speaker 2: knowing that every time you're looking at me, you're thinking creepy,
- 49:09Speaker 2: salacious things and you have to be around because how
- 49:12Speaker 2: am I supposed to broach that with my beautiful new husband, I.
- 49:17Speaker 1: Think, I mean, I'm not like going to bat for
- 49:21Speaker 1: their scenario, but I do think that it's all about perception.
- 49:24Speaker 1: You're viewing it as creepy and him being you know,
- 49:28Speaker 1: pervy about his intentions, and not everyone sees it that way,
- 49:32Speaker 1: because when I watched the movie, while I you know,
- 49:37Speaker 1: do think it's shitty for him to like pull her
- 49:39Speaker 1: into the whole like I love you, that's why I'm
- 49:41Speaker 1: a dick and now I'm going to be done scenario.
- 49:44Speaker 1: I don't think that he's sinister in his intentions or
- 49:48Speaker 1: his feelings for her, But.
- 49:49Speaker 2: You taught us that we never truly know that. And
- 49:52Speaker 2: then One Tree Hill taught us that even when you
- 49:56Speaker 2: had intimacy with the moment that you let the down,
- 50:01Speaker 2: then Uncle Keith is creepy. Uncle Keith, so reggy is
- 50:05Speaker 2: also creepy. This whole scenario where we're just supposed to
- 50:08Speaker 2: be interrupted in our lives because some man has chosen
- 50:12Speaker 2: to choose us. It's a very creepy scenario because I
- 50:17Speaker 2: didn't have any hand in it.
- 50:20Speaker 1: But that's the structure of our society. So in two
- 50:23Speaker 1: thousand and three, that's a very romantic thing because that's
- 50:26Speaker 1: literally what we are told as little girls, like wait
- 50:29Speaker 1: until you're chosen. It's gonna be your day soon, Like
- 50:32Speaker 1: how wonderful will it be when you get chosen by
- 50:35Speaker 1: this loving, wonderful, amazing man. Isn't it so great that
- 50:39Speaker 1: this man saw you and saw you for who you
- 50:42Speaker 1: are and chose you?
- 50:45Speaker 2: But then also, that's why love actually has made other
- 50:49Speaker 2: people uncomfortable For the last twenty years. We watched it
- 50:52Speaker 2: and we're like, that's cute this Christmas, and then we
- 50:56Speaker 2: watched it in our mid twenties and we were like,
- 50:59Speaker 2: wait a minute, it none of these people should be
- 51:03Speaker 2: together at the end of this movie except for maybe
- 51:06Speaker 2: the porno couple and the second graders, and the whole
- 51:12Speaker 2: sexualization of children is like, why are third graders dating.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Again? It's a you know, our culture does loves to
- 51:21Speaker 1: do that whole like, oh, they're so cute their boyfriend girlfriend,
- 51:24Speaker 1: and they don't We don't allow for kids of opposite
- 51:27Speaker 1: genders or non gendered to be non gendered one into
- 51:31Speaker 1: two to just form relationships that won't lead to romance.
- 51:35Speaker 2: But this show is called still Comfy, Folks because we
- 51:38Speaker 2: took a movie from two thousand and three and wait, Naveley,
- 51:41Speaker 2: Would you just want a man to never speak to
- 51:44Speaker 2: you ever? But then one day show up on your
- 51:46Speaker 2: porch and be like, I'm obsessed with you, and I'm like, no,
- 51:48Speaker 2: we've all watched you.
- 51:52Speaker 1: Now. We've all watched you now. But because years ago
- 51:55Speaker 1: you was still just but a novel. I think you
- 51:58Speaker 1: was a novel fifteen years ago when it was published.
- 52:01Speaker 2: Right, That's why we do the still comfy part where
- 52:04Speaker 2: it's like, are we still comfortable.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Not even ten years ago?
- 52:08Speaker 2: It can be it's still comfortable. We've all seen love
- 52:12Speaker 2: is blind, We've all we've all been through things collectively. Yeah,
- 52:18Speaker 2: but like Emma Thompson is the only person who can
- 52:21Speaker 2: do it. If Emma Thompson wants to watch this video
- 52:24Speaker 2: and watch how hard I went for her about Eric
- 52:26Speaker 2: Fanna and when that's a woman who's gonna protect me
- 52:29Speaker 2: till the end of my days and show up on
- 52:32Speaker 2: my porch, she's more than welcome. Rick from The Walking Dead, No,
- 52:38Speaker 2: absolutely not.
- 52:41Speaker 1: Well, what that twenty year anniversary special with Diane Sawyer
- 52:45Speaker 1: highlighted was just how much people still love this movie.
- 52:48Speaker 1: So that leads us into you know, we know this
- 52:50Speaker 1: film didn Ah, Well, there's homophobia, there's transphobia, there's fat phobia,
- 52:55Speaker 1: there's lack of diversity, but people still love this movie
- 53:02Speaker 1: and go hard for this movie.
- 53:04Speaker 2: I need all of the apologists to come for me
- 53:06Speaker 2: in the comments, because I only hang out with people
- 53:09Speaker 2: who have taste like I do, where they're all like,
- 53:11Speaker 2: that's a weird movie. It's a weird movie. And I'm like,
- 53:16Speaker 2: you're right, like we you know, we grew up, we
- 53:19Speaker 2: all went through some relationships ourselves, and now we're like,
- 53:22Speaker 2: love is not actually happening this Christmas.
- 53:28Speaker 1: And so I keep singing this Christmas but that song isn't.
- 53:31Speaker 3: In the movie because I can't remember the Bill Nime song.
- 53:35Speaker 2: I can't remember it, and I've tried. I've tried to.
- 53:39Speaker 2: I'm like, I know that it ends instead of love.
- 53:43Speaker 2: It's like love is all around, but it's Christmas is
- 53:46Speaker 2: all arounround, but around is in the middle of the
- 53:49Speaker 2: phrase because it ends on Christmas. That's why he keeps
- 53:52Speaker 2: fucking it up.
- 53:57Speaker 1: I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in
- 53:59Speaker 1: my tes Christmas is all around us, and so the
- 54:03Speaker 1: feeling grows, Oh there it is, and you know what.
- 54:09Speaker 2: Bill Nye was all like, this is some crack of shit,
- 54:13Speaker 2: and that's why he's the only honest man in this movie.
- 54:16Speaker 1: Have you seen him in About Time?
- 54:18Speaker 2: Yes? About Time is the correct way that time traveler's
- 54:23Speaker 2: wife should have gone. That is actually a beautiful love story.
- 54:27Speaker 1: So sad because all.
- 54:29Speaker 2: Of the time travel shit and like all of the
- 54:31Speaker 2: sadness and all of his like obsession over keeping their
- 54:34Speaker 2: love story allive doesn't happen until they're already in like
- 54:39Speaker 2: an established soul make situation. He doesn't go back to
- 54:45Speaker 2: Rachel McAdam. Is it Rachel McAdams in both movies. Yeah,
- 54:50Speaker 2: he doesn't go back to Rachel McAdams. When she's four
- 54:54Speaker 2: years old. It was like, hey come here, well and
- 54:58Speaker 2: he I mean, hey, daddy has been over here.
- 55:01Speaker 1: They he can't really like there's more control at About Time.
- 55:04Speaker 1: They have more control about where they go. I think
- 55:06Speaker 1: it's more than just a love story between Rachel McAdams
- 55:10Speaker 1: and that guy who is very translucent. I think it
- 55:14Speaker 1: also is a love story between father and son.
- 55:17Speaker 2: The translucent ginger.
- 55:18Speaker 1: Yeah, he's but I can't remember his name.
- 55:22Speaker 2: One of he's friends with my new soulmate Emma Thompson.
- 55:26Speaker 2: You're gonna have to get it together. You can't just
- 55:28Speaker 2: call him the translucent ginger while I'm keeping Emma Thompson safe.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Not to justify it, but people have called me some
- 55:37Speaker 1: pretty horrific things based on my racial identity. So I
- 55:40Speaker 1: feel like it's I mean, if I struggle, it's it's okay.
- 55:45Speaker 1: I don't know if that's fucked up. I shouldn't have said.
- 55:47Speaker 3: That, right, because, as you know, I was knee deep.
- 55:51Speaker 2: I was elbows deep in the love is Blind comments
- 55:54Speaker 2: after the Internet turned against the nib and they were like,
- 55:58Speaker 2: hole is a cute white man. He was in the right,
- 56:01Speaker 2: which I also feel is like love actually in a nutshell,
- 56:05Speaker 2: Like all of these cute white men said a thing,
- 56:07Speaker 2: so they must be right. Like So anyways, I was
- 56:14Speaker 2: reading comments because I hate myself and this beautiful I
- 56:19Speaker 2: didn't click on your profile, honey, so if you're watching,
- 56:22Speaker 2: please don't take this seriously. And if you cry yourself
- 56:25Speaker 2: to sleep tonight, I'll send you a T shirt. But
- 56:30Speaker 2: she wrote on Zennis Instagram posts, She's like, I really
- 56:35Speaker 2: just feel like Zanam could have taken it better that
- 56:38Speaker 2: Cole didn't find her attractive, because I've been a ginger
- 56:42Speaker 2: all my life, and do you think I'm everyone's preference,
- 56:45Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh, you really hit that point right
- 56:47Speaker 2: out of the ballpark.
- 56:49Speaker 1: I mean, it's completely different. Gingers aren't a race.
- 56:52Speaker 2: At all.
- 56:55Speaker 3: At all, youirdos.
- 56:58Speaker 1: I would like to actually see an updated version of
- 57:01Speaker 1: Love actually, because what I do think the movie does
- 57:04Speaker 1: do well for those of us who are hopeless romantics,
- 57:07Speaker 1: which is not necessarily Natalie in this camp, but it
- 57:11Speaker 1: does leave you feeling like kind of warm and fuzzy
- 57:14Speaker 1: if you remove all of the issues, if you transport
- 57:17Speaker 1: yourself back to the two thousand and three ram com vibe,
- 57:20Speaker 1: because it's the first of its kind to tell multiple
- 57:23Speaker 1: stories in a romantic comedy scenario. And being this stupid,
- 57:28Speaker 1: hopeless romantic that I am, I do walk away being like, fuck,
- 57:31Speaker 1: I just would love to be in love in a
- 57:35Speaker 1: pure and innocent and sweet sort of way.
- 57:38Speaker 2: We did do it in a very cute way when
- 57:40Speaker 2: we took four weddings and a funeral and made it
- 57:43Speaker 2: a same guy.
- 57:44Speaker 1: It's the same writer I know.
- 57:47Speaker 2: So he's clearly taken a women's class or two. I
- 57:50Speaker 2: don't know, maybe he's spoken to his mom and sisters
- 57:52Speaker 2: and it was like, hey, what creeps you out?
- 57:55Speaker 3: And what doesn't when it comes to dating.
- 57:58Speaker 1: Well, our Weddings in a Funeral came like years before
- 58:00Speaker 1: Love Actually the mini series, Oh that's that's Mandy Kayling,
- 58:06Speaker 1: the mini series, Mindy Kayling. I thought you meant the
- 58:10Speaker 1: movie because funeral Bridget Jones. What's the other one. They're
- 58:15Speaker 1: all this guy who wrote Love. Actually, No, I thought
- 58:18Speaker 1: that godding Hill that's the other one.
- 58:20Speaker 2: When Mindy Kaylen took the concept of four weddings and
- 58:25Speaker 2: a funeral and she made it into a mini series
- 58:28Speaker 2: and even included the cheating affair moment, yeah, it's like
- 58:34Speaker 2: how I could never get on board with the book
- 58:37Speaker 2: series and the movie series.
- 58:39Speaker 3: Something borrowed because.
- 58:43Speaker 2: Snow White from One Tree Hill, who's Whitney cummings best
- 58:46Speaker 2: friend and I love her so I'm sorry, I can't
- 58:48Speaker 2: remember your name right now.
- 58:49Speaker 1: No White from One Tree Hill.
- 58:51Speaker 3: Not One Tree Hill, Once upon a Time.
- 58:53Speaker 2: Jennifer Goodwin, Jennifer Goodwin is how Jennifer Goodwin just like
- 58:58Speaker 2: because she's the main character, she never takes responsibility for
- 59:02Speaker 2: it because our main characters are like in rom coms,
- 59:06Speaker 2: are like just unbath themable. And then when like Kate
- 59:09Speaker 2: Hudson shows up and she's like, clearly my boyfriend is here,
- 59:12Speaker 2: and she's like, no, just just chick it, Like like
- 59:17Speaker 2: I literally just saw a TikTok about it. I was like, man,
- 59:19Speaker 2: I hated that movie and I could never read the books,
- 59:23Speaker 2: even though I guess the sequel is about Kate Hudson's
- 59:26Speaker 2: character doing hot girl shit.
- 59:29Speaker 1: I mean, I mean yes and no, I mean she
- 59:32Speaker 1: because the book. What bothered me about the book to
- 59:34Speaker 1: screen adaptation on that one is there are there is
- 59:37Speaker 1: a whole chapter where Jennifer Goodwin's character does go home
- 59:42Speaker 1: and it's like, what the fuck is going on in
- 59:44Speaker 1: my life? And I think it's her mom. It's just like, bitch,
- 59:47Speaker 1: here's the reality check you need, and you don't get
- 59:51Speaker 1: that in the movie.
- 59:53Speaker 2: So I think, what like love actually perpetuates, is this
- 59:58Speaker 2: myth that fits love?
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: It just automatically gets to be okay.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: And I think when Mindy Kaylene updated like Four Weddings
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: and a Funeral, we got to see more of the
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: I made a choice, it turned out to be an
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: icky choice. There have been icky consequences, and now I
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: am working through these consequences. Yeah, So I think, like Hugh.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: Grant, there's a lot of elements of love actually and
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: for and Mandy Kayley, the weddings in a funeral right.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: And but there's also room for all of these things
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: to develop where because love actually is just this like weird.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: Hodgemdge vignette movie.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: It's just like.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: Emma Thompson forgave Alan Rickman and maybe You're tummy doesn't
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: feel great about it?
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: Did she though? Because I like she's my house scene
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: where they pick him up from the airport, she's like
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: fuck her and like welcome back, assle.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: I think she did the like the I'm forgiving you
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: for the kid's forgiveness.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: See don't I didn't get that vibe. I did not
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: get that vibe.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: It's something about like the kiss on the cheek and
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: still meeting him at the airport or whatever. You can
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: tell that they're not separated, and you can tell that
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: she's like still trying.
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: So she did the I'm gonna forgive you this much.
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: So I can be in the house with you.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: I don't know. I didn't get that vibe. I've done
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: a lot of things for my son, for his dad,
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: but it's definitely not been like a you know what
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: I mean, Like the whole picking up from the airport,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: like and I'm sure Drew's done the same for me too,
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: like he like, we literally had a scenario where they
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: picked us up from the airport and spent the day
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: together because we've been gone for so long and like,
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: so that way the boy in the in the and
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: his dad could have time together. But it wasn't like
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: like if you saw us, you would think that we
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: were a family and a couple, which technically we were
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: a family, but we definitely had like So I guess
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: that's why I don't see Emma Thompson's character in the
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: same light, because I've done this scenario where it's like
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: our lives are separate, but if you see us in
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: a moment, you wouldn't know that, Yeah, because we vibe
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: as a family.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Well. And I think my thing was is because she
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: does that switch right off the bat of like she's
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: confriended him and now has taken care of the kids.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: My brain logically went, oh, she did the I'm gonna
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: forgive you this much because we've got kids in the
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: room thing, and that has carried on into whatever their
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: stress and tense dynamic is.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: Yeah, So I.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: Think like I think love actually is just this movie
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: that perpetuates this myth that like, we don't question love,
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: and I think this is how we all ended up
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: in toxic relationships with the people that we shared DNA with.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: It's because you're not allowed to talk to the people
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: who love you about how their love affects you and like, Hi, Hello,
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: I'm a thirty four year old woman who lives on
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: my own and has my own brain and heart, and
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: I would like to have a grown up conversation about
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: why you can't say that to me?
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think a lot of that is because
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: there's this idea about family where you're just like, you
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: don't question it, you should be grateful because it could
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: be worse. And for those who have it worse, there's
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: this perpetuation of like, you can't you really shouldn't talk
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: sit about your family because it could be like mine.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: And I think we transfer that into our romantic relationships.
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: It's not tomorrow because today is Monday. It's not even
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: tomorrow if today was for Still Company, Tuesday, because it's Thursday.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: On Thursday, I am recording an episode about all or
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: nothing thinking and how that presents itself in my relationships
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: and that starts in your families, like we're all in,
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: we all have each other's backs, like and to a
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: certain extent, it's how you guess like kids into never
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: telling their teacher that you hit them once a week
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: or whatever. But when you take that into a romantic
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: sense like love actually, where it's like, well, you know,
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: I'll stick around because Alan Rickman and I have been
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: married for thirty years, and like he didn't fuck the
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: secretary or Laura Lenny's relationship with her ill brother, yeah,
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: and how that is now going to affect her romantic
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: relationships because she can't be all in on Carl and
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: he's probably gonna expect a little bit to be like
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: all in on, which I'm sorry, I do need a
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: reboot to see if Laura Lennie eventually gets sticked down
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: by Carl.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: They did do something especial for Red Nose Day a
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: couple of years ago, post for Alan Rickman's death, and
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: I can't I.
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: Get some dicking down for Red.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: Well, I don't know if they did something, but they
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: did like a like a where are they now type
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: of situation for Red Nose Day with the love actually
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: cast and the writer of the film. You know wrote
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: scenarios for each couple, but and I think he did
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: something special for Emma Thompson because Alan Rickman was no
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: longer with us. But that does exist. But to the
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: Carl and Sarah scenario, when she has him in her
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: flat and he's like in her brother's calling and calling
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: and calling, and he's literally like will it make him better?
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: And she admits that it won't and still answers the phone. Anyway,
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: that was so that to me, that was just like
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: so heartbreaking because it showed that she was to me,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: it showed she was too afraid to accept the fact
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: that Carl could really, actually truly be in love with
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: her as well. And then also she found comfort in
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: the toxic relationship she has with her brother and is
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: unwilling to move from that, or the unwillingness is stemming
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: from fear to move from that, And that broke my
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: heart because listen, if a hot Brazilian were to be like, hey, girl,
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: I am so into what you are doing with this,
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: I'd be like peace, mom, bye, dad, see your family.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: I'm heapy, I'm sorry, I'm learning Portuguese. I'm out.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: Who fell? That's too bad? How inconvenient.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: Though I also don't want to. I also would like
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: to be the hottest one in the relationship. That is
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: something that is very shallow about me. But I'm not
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: gonna say no if a person I find to be
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: very attractive to be like and it's and it's I've
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: almost said, rescue you from your toxic family, and that's
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: not what it is, but it's it's definitely the like.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: I will build a new family with you that makes
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: you feel love and comforted.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: And I will complain about these bumbling, charming, British dufices
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: for this movie. But you won't hear me say a
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: bad thing about Carl. He handles that whole situation, and
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: I think, and I think it's because we don't know
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: where they end up at the end of the movie
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: that I can still have faith that he handled that
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: with grace and kindness and acceptance or whatever. Because we've
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: also been told that once someone takes their pants off,
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: there better be a little bit of business or else
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: you've disappointed someone to the point of no return to
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: where we made up a medical term about it.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think that's why. I think that's why
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: Carl is my favorite.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: Yeah, he's so cute, he's so kind, he's you know,
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: he's for the most part silent in the movie, and
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: as we know, that's my preferred type. Quiet won't talk
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: to me.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: And Louise, and.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: So you won't hear me talking about about Carl or
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: Martin Freeman because they're actually kind men who invested in
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: the women that they were seeking.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Now, yeah, yeah, you know what. Actually, Martin Freeman might
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: be my favorite dude in the whole film because he
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: is genuinely interested in Judy and makes polite conversation and
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: is respectful during their entire situation in scenarios. And I
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: just feel like that's who Martin Freeman probably is in
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: real life, and it makes me happy because I love
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: him in the MCU, like I just fail me with
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: it there it is. I don't know if it was
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: me or you, but I did.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: Never that he loved him in the MCU. No. I
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: have always team pro Do Bagans, mostly because I don't
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: write fan fiction. But the fan fiction in my head
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: when I'm alone in the dark in my room is
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: that Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch makes sweet, sweet love
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: with one another, but he's still smog of the dragon
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: and he's still pro to bag Ins. The hobbit he
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: anatomically works and we don't really have to go into
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: the science of it. But it's gentle but also a
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: little scary, which is also kind of what I did.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: You know what I love about Benedett Cumberbatge when he
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: and his now wife announced they were getting married. It
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: was just a simple statement made in the paper, and
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: like the announcement sections that used to exist when hard
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: pick card copies of papers.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: Mario just gave me devastating news on accident. No, I
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: did not know that Christy Ali passed away today. What
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: I'm literally finding this out live on the Internet. And
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: now we have to drop dead gorgeous, which is the
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: one I thought I was worried the most about doing
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: on this show. It didn't age well, but I quote
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: the whole movie.
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: Yeah, he posted a comment on there and I just
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: now saw it. That's really sad. I have to watch
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Cheers tonight.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: Oh my god, I can't. I can't.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: She's not even old.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: No oh, oh had seventy more.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: She had cancer.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: That's really had cancer.
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: That's what according to Variety, she had cancer.
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: That's what Alan Rickman and David Bowie did to me.
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: They didn't even give me.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: Like an Instagram inspirational heads up.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: I mean, topic Grooseman did the same thing. Nobody knew
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: that he had colon cancer, and then you know, the
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: Internet ridiculed him for being so skinny, and then two
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: weeks later he passed from colon cancer.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: And I need everyone to know that we need to
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: collectively be kinder because I'm tired of getting blindsided because
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: the celebrities won't share their struggles with us because we're
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: not nice.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, I'm gonna say the collective Internet.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: I feel like I would have been very understanding and
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: posted and given her encouraging posts. I know I choose
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: to be kind on the Internet. If I'm gonna be
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: a dick, I'm gonna side text my best friend and
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: talk shit there. I'm not going to do that on
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: the Internet.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: Oh can we do it Takes Two with Google?
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: I love that movie.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: My sister and I watched it Takes Two for every day,
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: multiple times for an entire summer. That summer it came
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: out on being we literally melted the tape.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: I watched it in the theater. Okay, so you know what,
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: let's wrap up so you and I can both have
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: some time to like deal with our emotions.
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: When it comes to William Neeson.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: You know what, that's okay because that one has to
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: deal with grief and death. So we'll just you know what,
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: We'll just we'll just, we'll.
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: Just I do have a comment about Liam Neeson, Okay,
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: because Liam Neeson's wife, Natascha Richardson from The Parent Trap
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: died tragically.
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: And the very famous Red Gray family.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: Yeah, because she died tragically in a skiing accident while
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: they were on vacation. When I do see clips of
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: him in this movie, I just my brain puts in
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: their situation, even though that's not the plot of the
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: movie at all.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: I'm like, and it happened years after this movie was filmed,
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: And I'm like, poor Liam Neeson. Her son was.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Has said that he did you tell me this? Who
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: told me this? Maybe it was Mario, their son, and
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: it said that when he misses his mom the most,
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: he puts on the Parent Trap because that's the most
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: like who she really was.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: So I'm sad. Liam Neeson also isn't a really bad
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: guy in this movie.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I think he's sweet because of the age I
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: was when the film released. In the age he is
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: in the film, He's not the one that I'm drawn to.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: I will also say that this was the only time
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: I paid attention to the funeral slideshow and when he
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: was clearly with that little boy, when that little boy
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: was a baby, even though it's his stepson. I was like,
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: why are you so weird about this kid if you've
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: known this kid since he was an infant? And then
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: like Emma Thompson is like, why are you being weird?
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: And he's like, you're right.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, when he admits that, you know, he it
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: was up to you know, his mom was the one
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: who was the one who always like had those conversations
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: with him. He never felt he needed to do that,
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: and then now he needs to step up. Okay, so
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: we're just gonna rap because uh I can't focus because
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: I really want to read these articles about christiality and
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: because that's uh so, Natalie, tell everybody what we're all the.
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: Things about you do comfy question?
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: Oh fuck yeah, Okay, I'm like, I'm like having a
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: hard time focusing. So yeah, go ahead. Are you still comfy?
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: What's your comfort level? Are you still comfy with love.
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: Actually no, maybe if Mindy Kalen wanted to redo it
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: and like make it diverse, maybe a min.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: And a mini series rather because any Cannes.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: Rather, so I could feel emotionally invested into this obsessive love,
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: because right now it's coming off as really obsessive and
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: not a natural love that fostered between a bunch of people.
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: I could be on board. The twenty twenty two namily
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: has seen you well.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: And I think the vignettes are because vignettes were so
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: new in twenty twenty in two thousand and three, and
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: now we have a better handle on how to succinctly
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: tell vignette stories in one to in a two hour period.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: I think if somebody were to step up and update
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: the script, I think it could be done, like thinking
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: it could be better. So Mandy, Kaylene Mario, thank you
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: so much. I appreciate you for telling us anyway. It's
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: a I was already having a hard time with grief
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: today because it's the anniversary of a friend's passing and
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: Facebook reminded me this morning, so I was already in
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: a weird headspace about death. So yeah, you know, you
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: don't have to apologize death.
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: Come I'm sure my sister tried to text me and
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: my phone's.
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: Just on do not disturb. She is usually the person
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: who will say, before you open your phone, another Glee
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: actor has died, so you might as well know now
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: because that shall be cursed.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's just it's just been a lot. It's
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: just been a lot. There's been an outside a celebrit death.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: I've had a lot of death happen in the last
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: eight weeks in my life, So it's just there's just
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: a whole lot of that happening and keeping your shit
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: together to you know, work through is not always easy.
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: And to a lesser extent, my holiday cheer died over
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: the weekend. So I'm not comfortable with this movie. Yeah,
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: if if Manny, Kylene or Emma Thompson want to call
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: me for how we could flesh this out and make
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: it better, I'm available if you're filming a sex scene
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: or a porno with plus size actresses and you need
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: stand ins.
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: I also felt like I could do that job.
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: So.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: I do want to add Well, for me, I want
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: to say I'm not super comfortable with Love Is actually,
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: and I've actually had issues with it, probably going on
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: like eighteen years, but I do watch it to sort
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: of jump start the holiday season into the winter for
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: me at the end of Thanksgiving every year, and I
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: don't know if I'll ever stop doing that.
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: If I'm gonna be honest, I yeah, I mean comfort
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: movies become your comfort movies.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: I'm trying to think what crampis. But also Elf. I
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: love Elf, which came out when I was older, so
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: that doesn't Also the Santa Claus, which we canceled doing
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: today so we could talk about them. Actually that's the
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: Santa Claus and Tim Allen Badman, because.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: Yeah, say, I feel like it's okay if we don't
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: give Tim Allan a platform, that's.
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: Right, because Tim Allen Badman.
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: In case we didn't know. And if you want to know,
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: oh it is Crampis Day. Happy Crampis knocked everyone. And
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: remember Crampas doesn't care kids, if you're a productive drone
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: to capitalism. He only cares if you're an asshole so
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: he can put you in your set in his sack
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: and beat you with a stick. He's my preferred Christmas deity.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: Nice Nice, Tell everybody where they can find you.
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: You can find the soft, soothing tones of my Voice
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: every Thursday on to all the men I've tolerated before.
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: We are currently on our holiday break, so we are
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: not really sing any new tolerator contact. But our season
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: two finale, Jules was on with a handful of our
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: other favorite guests and we talked about women's safety and
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: what that looks like due to our society and this week.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: Last week we did Now and Then for Still Comfy,
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: and this week we're doing Mama Mia. So you'll hear
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: me talk nicely about Colin Firth for Mama Mia.
- 1:17:33Speaker 7: That was me doinga yeah exactly that.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: And Tomorrow night friends over on Instagram, Natalie and I
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: will be discussing the next episodes five and six of
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: The Crown and that will be on Instagram Live at
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: four thirty episodes five and six. So far The Crown
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: has been a snows fest and that is general consensus
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: of the Internet, so I feel like we're not alone. Also,
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: this week on pop Culture makes Me jealous Tomorrow's excuse me.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: Our episode that's dropping Wednesday is Loot. It's the about
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: the Apple Plus original series that starts maya Rootolph and
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: the premises this woman receives millions upon millions upon millions
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: of dollars in a divorce settlement, and it rings familiar
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: of Mackenzie Scott Jeff Bezos's divorce, but it has a
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: very different turn and a lot of comedic elements. And
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: it starts, like I said my Rudolph and Mikayla J Rodriguez,
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: I think we're on funches, bunch of people, bunch people,
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: super fun, super fun, super.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: Fun, and plot that show tomorrow for Tuesday. Good news everyone,
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: I'm back in on The Crown, And you want to
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: know why because I come from a long, long line
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: of basic white bitches, and I love the Romanovs, and
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: I pretend to know a lot about the Romanovs. So
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: if you want to hear all the connections I've made
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: to the Grand Duchess Anastasia, you're gonna want to tune
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: in tomorrow on Instagram. Because they opened the episode six
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: of The Crown with murdering the Romanovs, and I texted Jewels, like,
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: you didn't warned me that all of my Romanov trauma
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: was gonna get triggered.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: Yeah, you know that he wasn't a very humanitarian right
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: like he was actually probably? Yeah?
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: No, I have read and listened and watched so many
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: things about the Romanovs that I truly understand that he
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: was a little scamp who got put into a job
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: that he didn't deserve nor should he have had.
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: The tragedy for the Romanovs.
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: For me is that there was an entire family of
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: young women and children and a little broken boy who
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: were murdered because their father couldn't get his shit together.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, okay, that's fair, that's fair. Say he is
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: a has a. He as a person probably had it
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: coming in that era. Great, Yeah, but absolutely, you're right.
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: It's sad that the children were victim too.
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: I was sunk line and sinker to that Meg Ryan
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: anaesthesia cartoon, and when it came out that she may
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: have been found alive, I was like, I'm here, I'm waiting.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: Okay, friends, we will not be back with a movie
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: still Comfy until twenty twenty three, so stay tuned for
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: announcements regarding that. But you can catch us on Instagram
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: Talk in the Crown and Natalie, why don't you say
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: our closing tag?
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: Hey everyone, the holidays are hard, so I just want
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: you to remember to stay cozy and stay comfy.
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: Doy
