GENERAL MEANS EOR THE ATTAINMENT OF PERFECTION

In order to make sure of attaining Christian perfection, the following means should be adopted.

Fidelity in small things.

A habit of self-control.

Abstinence from all that is superfluous, especially in regard to eating and drinking.

Order and regularity.

Unremitting prayer.

Frequent confession and communion.

Reading attentively the life of Our Lord and the lives of the saints, and meditation on the truths of religion.

Love of solitude.
