- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi, it's Adam here. And in this hypnosis session,
- 0:43you're going to be listening to hypnosis created for a younger
- 0:48client that was stuck in a place of inertia.
- 0:54They didn't really feel that passionate or have too much
- 0:59motivation or energy for anything.
- 1:02Nothing really inspired them. You could call it a state of
- 1:07apathy or very low motivation. And this was causing problems
- 1:13because they weren't doing too much.
- 1:15It means that certain things were impeding their progress.
- 1:19It was impeding their ability to move on academically and
- 1:23actually start making progress towards, you know, what they
- 1:27wanted to do, which was long term graduate and and find a
- 1:31career. But that wasn't happening
- 1:33because of their low motivation. And when people are in
- 1:37situations like that, they do feel conflicted themselves
- 1:41because a part of them thinks they should be doing more, but
- 1:43they're not. But they've also got external
- 1:45pressure from parents and family members that are frustrated.
- 1:49They want to shake them and say, look, just just do something.
- 1:52So there's lots going on, but it's difficult if you're in that
- 1:56state of low motivation, to suddenly find the motivation
- 2:01because you're comparing yourself with other people that
- 2:04already have momentum. So in this particular session,
- 2:08there is a metaphor of a child's roundabout, you know, the kind
- 2:11of things you see in playgrounds.
- 2:13And it's a very good metaphor to communicate inertia and momentum
- 2:18because what can feel impossible to go from static to fast feels
- 2:23much easier if you've got a tiny bit of motion in the right
- 2:26direction. Then you can build on that.
- 2:29And that's why it's quite a good metaphor.
- 2:31But there's also an element of future pacing so they can get to
- 2:33see what their life would be like with and without that
- 2:37element of more motivation. And also the idea that they
- 2:41don't have to be incredibly passionate and motivated about
- 2:44everything. It's just enough so they get to
- 2:46test and explore things, trusting that while they're
- 2:49doing that, something will capture their imagination.
- 2:52And then that will unleash more resources like motivation and
- 2:56enthusiasm. I think anyone feeling stuck in
- 3:00a rut? Anyone feeling apathetic?
- 3:02Anyone feeling in low mood will benefit from this, but it was
- 3:06created for an individual. Some of the suggestions aren't
- 3:08going to relate to you because it wasn't originally created for
- 3:11you. So if you do like the idea of
- 3:13working with me directly, there will be a link in the
- 3:16description where you can schedule that free consultation
- 3:18call. For now though, find a quiet,
- 3:20comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 3:23Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 4:12you breathe in, breathe in that relaxing, calm breath, and as
- 4:21you exhale, feel a sense of release.
- 4:27Any tension, any worries, anything weighing on your mind,
- 4:31just feel it start to leave your body in your outward breath as
- 4:38you breathe in that relaxation and exhale.
- 4:43Not tension, but any frustrations, any guilt, any
- 4:51blocks, just allow them to be released.
- 4:57And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 5:02The more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe.
- 5:08And as your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 5:15And I wonder if you can use the power of your imagination to
- 5:22imagine a children's park on a sunny day.
- 5:32I want you to imagine you've got the whole park to yourself, no
- 5:35one else there. And that's surprising on a sunny
- 5:38day, blue skies, sunshine, just you in that park.
- 5:45And I want you to imagine seeing a child's roundabout.
- 5:51And I want you to imagine that roundabout is static in a state
- 5:57known as inertia. It isn't moving, and unless
- 6:04something happens, well then it won't move, it will just stay
- 6:10there. But that's not what a roundabout
- 6:14was built for. The roundabout was built to move
- 6:20in either One Direction or the other and to facilitate joy,
- 6:27smiles and laughter. And as you breathe in and
- 6:33breathe out, I want you to imagine what it would feel like
- 6:38to walk up to that static roundabout and try and force it
- 6:44in One Direction. Maybe clockwise, maybe anti
- 6:50clockwise. And here's the interesting
- 6:54thing. You can't move it in two
- 6:59different directions at the same time.
- 7:04You can force it clockwise or you can force it anti clockwise.
- 7:13And I think somewhere in your life a part of you wants to move
- 7:20the roundabout in One Direction and a different part in the
- 7:25opposite direction. Effort was invested to make very
- 7:34little progress, and maybe that other part was trying to keep
- 7:40you safe, avoid stress, avoid rejection, avoid problems.
- 7:48But there is a distinction between being safe and being
- 7:52stuck. And I want you to imagine that
- 7:57that other part has a good intention for you.
- 8:02But what if it can keep you safe by you becoming more resilient
- 8:14by experiencing stress and adversity and overcoming it
- 8:19again and again and again? What if your safety comes from
- 8:27your resourcefulness, not from inaction?
- 8:31And I want you to imagine that other parts of you pushing in
- 8:39the other direction, willing to just step back.
- 8:46Imagine that other part maybe on the swings or the slide.
- 8:50So now the same effort can move you forward.
- 8:57Feel the roundabout start to rotate slow at 1st and then
- 9:04faster. And I want you to imagine that
- 9:09when it gets to a certain speed, you don't need to keep pushing
- 9:13it all the time. Then when it reaches a certain
- 9:19speed and velocity, it just keeps going round.
- 9:23And only when it starts to slow does it need a boost from you.
- 9:32And I want you to imagine that for a while now, your life, your
- 9:38motivation, your enthusiasm has been like that static or slow
- 9:45roundabout. Imagine the roundabout now going
- 9:53around 20% of its capacity. Not stopped, but certainly not
- 10:00fast. Not fast enough that a child
- 10:05would want to sit on this roundabout.
- 10:09But it's certainly not stationary.
- 10:15And I want you to think about what it would be like, what it
- 10:24would be like if you had a bit more of that motivation, a tiny
- 10:37bit more of that enthusiasm, a willingness to try a bit more,
- 10:46send an e-mail, read a book, take a risk, do something.
- 10:54And if you can think of what that would be like to very
- 11:00incrementally do more, think more, be more, let me know by
- 11:09nodding your head. And then just imagine that
- 11:15roundabout getting a little bit faster.
- 11:18Still slow, still safe, but faster than it was before.
- 11:25And imagine there's a week or two of you getting to that point
- 11:30and feeling comfortable with that increased level of action,
- 11:35decisions, Enthusiasm, not passion, yet nobody would call
- 11:43you motivated, but comparatively more motivation than before.
- 11:51And then imagine a month from now, perhaps in a break, doing
- 11:59something that you don't need to do, have to do, and there's no
- 12:03consequences for not doing it, but you're doing it diligently
- 12:08anyway. And if you can think of
- 12:12something like that that you could do, that would certainly
- 12:17represent the roundabout getting even faster than before.
- 12:21Let me know by nodding your head.
- 12:26I don't want you to get a sense that the roundabout then now is
- 12:30that 4 out of 10, not slow, not fast, just medium, still very
- 12:42safe, not risky, not too stressful.
- 12:46There's just more going on. And it reminds you of how you
- 12:49were at school, not brimming with enthusiasm, but you did
- 12:55enough to get by. And if you've been in that place
- 12:59before, you can get to that place again.
- 13:03But I don't think you want to settle at that speed, that
- 13:08velocity, that level of enthusiasm or motivation.
- 13:14So I want you to think of what it would be to get it one step
- 13:18further than that. You're doing things you don't
- 13:24have to do, you don't need to do.
- 13:29You've just decided you want to do them.
- 13:35Joining a club, interacting with people, making plans, exercising
- 13:45more, learning something not for your course, but just because
- 13:55you want to learn about that thing.
- 13:58And if you could imagine what that would be like for you to
- 14:02just get it to that next level up.
- 14:06Let me know about nodding your head.
- 14:11That's it. And I want you to step into that
- 14:15version of you and feel how it would feel to have that level of
- 14:22motivation and enthusiasm. It's not one of these 9 out of
- 14:311010 out of 10 motivational speaker type of energy.
- 14:37Just someone then is doing what they want to do, doing it
- 14:43diligently, living life on your terms.
- 14:50I want you to think of a motorway with three different
- 14:55lanes, the slow lane, the middle lane, and then the overtaking
- 15:04lane. And I want you to think that for
- 15:08a while you've been a slow vehicle on that slow lane, not
- 15:18really getting to where you want to get to because you're not
- 15:20sure where you want to get to. But imagine going slightly
- 15:26faster. So even if you're not sure where
- 15:31you want to get to, you can cover more ground to increase
- 15:37the probability of finding a place where you do want to get
- 15:41to. Just imagine that perhaps in the
- 15:47next few months, or maybe the next year or two, something pops
- 15:54into your head. A dream, a goal, an idea, a
- 16:02vision, an epiphany, an idea of you in your future that just
- 16:08feels compelling. A life that you would love to
- 16:12live. And you don't have to have that
- 16:16now, but just imagine it happens one day.
- 16:22Then you would want to go in the fast lane.
- 16:26You would want to spin that roundabout faster and faster.
- 16:30Not because you have to, but because you want to.
- 16:35And if your unconscious is receptive to discovering
- 16:39something that you can be enthusiastic and passionate
- 16:42about, even if you don't know what that thing is, just let me
- 16:46know by nodding your head. I want you to get an idea that
- 17:01before a decision becomes openness to a decision.
- 17:10You might be open to the idea of a holiday, even if you're not
- 17:13sure where the holiday is. You might be open to the idea of
- 17:20having your own car, even if you don't know what make and model
- 17:23you want. Having your own home or
- 17:26apartment, even if you don't know what city or country it's
- 17:29in. So if your unconscious mind is
- 17:33open to the possibility of finding something that you can
- 17:37be passionately enthusiastic about, that's it, let me know.
- 17:44That's it. Consider a seed being planted in
- 17:48fertile soil, and you increase the probability of finding that
- 17:55thing not by accelerating to 100 miles an hour, or spinning that
- 18:02roundabout to 10 out of 10, but just moving it faster than it
- 18:08has been. Then you cover more ground, try
- 18:12more things, figure out what you don't like as much as what you
- 18:16do like until a process of elimination or a process of
- 18:23inspiration leads you to that wonderful thing that you can
- 18:30feel the desire to do, not from expectation, obligation,
- 18:38pressure, or coercion, but from true desire.
- 18:45And then just move that roundabout slightly faster now
- 18:49to a six out of 10. This would be doing things that
- 18:55is slow and steady progress in all the areas of your life that
- 18:59are important to you. You're not shaking things up,
- 19:06but you're not slowing things down.
- 19:09Consider this a Safeway to steer your life into a place of more
- 19:16choices and possibilities. But before you get that
- 19:22roundabout spinning at a six, it needs to be a 5.
- 19:26And before A5A4 and before a 4A3, and maybe right now it's
- 19:32A2. All you need to do is to spin
- 19:36that roundabout slightly faster. And I want you to think of two
- 19:41or three things you can do today or tomorrow that would create
- 19:46more momentum in your life. Simple things, easy things, not
- 19:53challenging things that just create more momentum.
- 20:00And I want you to feel not pushed to do these things,
- 20:05pulled to do these things that you want to do these things.
- 20:11They feel easy, doable, and beneficial.
- 20:19That's it. I want you to leave that
- 20:26roundabout, see it maintaining that speed at perhaps 6 out of
- 20:3110. Not full speed, but not slow
- 20:34either. I just get a sense that that's
- 20:37where you're heading. And the moment you find that
- 20:41thing that you can be passionate about, it will naturally get to
- 20:47an 8-9 or A10 because you want it to, not because you have to.
- 20:53So hold that thought in your mind and feel like you're
- 20:57leaving this place in your imagination.
- 20:59So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 21:04nose. Just wiggle your fingers, wiggle
- 21:08your toes, connect and calibrate into the here and the now.
- 21:11That's it. As I now count from 1:00 to
- 21:1510:00 to awaken you starting to count 123 waking up 456 more
- 21:23alerts 7-8 Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910 Wide awake,
- 21:29Wide awake. Wide awake.
