- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to the Emotional Mastery Podcast.
- 0:03Speaker 1: I am your host, rochelle.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I'm a holistic human design health coach and this is a space for human design and spiritual journey.
- 0:10Speaker 1: It's not about being a master of your emotions, rather mastering the tools to self-regulate, to awakening yourself and remembering who you are.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Human design changed my life about five years ago and I've been learning and teaching the system ever since.
- 0:24Speaker 1: This podcast is human design meets spirituality, meets astrology.
- 0:27Speaker 1: You don't have to have a belief system to be here, just an open mind and curiosity.
- 0:32Speaker 1: This is a journey of meeting yourself and awakening to your infinite potential.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Now let the magic begin.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Welcome to the Emotional Mastery Podcast.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Today I have Janie Charleaux on and I excited.
- 0:44Speaker 1: We were just starting offline and I was like let's press record because we have so much to talk about.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Janie is a podcast host, nurse practitioner, author and transformational coach, and your newest book is Seven Steps to Mastering Emotions, which, of course, like that title, caught my attention.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I was like, yes, we have to have this conversation on air because emotions is so much and we'll dive into all of it.
- 1:06Speaker 1: But I want to hand you the floor first, just for you to tell your story and sort of how you got to where you're going, any pivotal, you know moments along the way, and then we'll go from there.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yeah, well, thank you for having me here.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I love talking about emotions.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I love talking about this journey, the spiritual journey, and we were talking a little bit before record, just saying how emotions is one of those things that you have to master when you're on this spiritual journey, because it tells so much about who you are.
- 1:37Speaker 2: So a part of that and coming up with Seven Steps to Mastering Emotions was because I was introduced to the emotion of love and unconditional love, and I had to unlearn what wasn't love, because we're in a world that's very fear-based and we're programmed that way from birth on out.
- 2:03Speaker 2: So, as I was in my journey, spirit was showing me what was love, what was unconditional love, what was not, and we're on this spectrum of emotions and there's only two main emotions fear and love, and every single decision we make is out of those two emotions.
- 2:25Speaker 2: So I started to just unravel that in my own life, see that in act, in my everyday work, with my kids, with my spouse, in my household, and I started to master it.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Okay, well, am I making this decision out of love or is it out of fear?
- 2:43Speaker 2: And so that just took me down a whole rabbit hole, and then that's when I came up with Seven Steps to Mastering Emotions, which is a very simple power tool book.
- 2:54Speaker 2: It's literally very short.
- 2:56Speaker 2: It's for teenagers on up because in that phase of development teenagers is when the brain starts to develop and those emotions start to fill in our body.
- 3:08Speaker 2: And it's so important for teenagers to understand what they're feeling and to have a safe space to express that, because I think sometimes that leads into ineffective emotions or how to handle it as an adult.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Yeah, and just in my clinical practice as a family nurse practitioner, although I am taking care of the physical body, I always include mental, emotional and spiritual in my care and my treatment.
- 3:42Speaker 2: So it has really, really helped me to create a holistic way of treating people.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I love that.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think that's so important and I love that the book is for teens as well.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I remember my parents handing me quite a few books when I was a teenager and just be like, just read this Cause, like sometimes, you know, depending on your upbringing or how you experience emotions, like we were sort of getting into that a little bit.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Everybody experiences them differently, but I think just having tools because I think that's probably the most asked question on here is like well, how do we get there?
- 4:12Speaker 1: How do we do that?
- 4:13Speaker 1: Because these tools, although they're important, I think it's the inner work and I think, again, we all experience it differently and different things work for all of us.
- 4:20Speaker 1: But to have like tools to be able to come back to yourself and to master those emotions and just and understand how emotions work, because they can take over everything.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I told you offline, I mean I've my emotions have just like it's been.
- 4:37Speaker 1: They are my life, they have always been my life and I've always let them rule it in an unhealthy way.
- 4:42Speaker 1: And now, you know, I've started my journey and I'm, you know, starting to understand and regulate and have the tools to allow them to cycle faster, and for me that's been the key is like I might still experience in them, but then I know, okay, I can do this and I'll come back here to this neutral space and I'll be okay.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's, it's.
- 5:00Speaker 2: I mean, you got to look at emotions.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Like I told you, it's energy in motion, so it's waves and it's real and it's alive, so you could drown in it, and you could really drown in heavy emotions, right, but you have to learn how to come out of it.
- 5:17Speaker 2: And the truth is, our thoughts create our emotions.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Our thoughts create our emotions.
- 5:26Speaker 2: That's it.
- 5:26Speaker 2: So when you are experiencing an emotion, you have to ask yourself what thoughts am I thinking?
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yeah, and you could pinpoint it every single time.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Now you have to be conscious, you have to be aware in the moment, present and literally moment by moment.
- 5:48Speaker 2: So if you find yourself in rage or anger, or depression or anxiety, in that moment, what are you thinking?
- 5:55Speaker 2: Am I fearful of the future?
- 5:57Speaker 2: Am I thinking about something that's to come?
- 5:59Speaker 2: Am I stuck in the past?
- 6:02Speaker 2: Am I not accepting something that's happening right now?
- 6:06Speaker 2: So if we, in the moment, feeling it and we could say, ok, I'm feeling X, y, z, but what am I thinking in this moment, you can pinpoint exactly the thought that's creating the emotion.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Mm, hmm.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, exactly the thought that's creating the emotion.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I interviewed a.
- 6:30Speaker 1: He called himself an epigenere, so epigenetics but he was an engineer as well, but he had talked about, for you, have you experience, every emotional experience that you're going to have by the age of 30.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And after that you tie, so you're like you're talking about your thoughts and your emotions are tied together, right?
- 6:46Speaker 1: So those subconscious looping thoughts are then tied to an emotion, and so then, when you're feeling that emotion, you're brought back to your reaction, becomes what that experience was, and so that, to me, was so profound.
- 6:57Speaker 1: And so that's something I always think about is like what am I, what is this thought?
- 7:01Speaker 1: Or like what is the attachment, what am I making this mean about me?
- 7:04Speaker 1: That isn't actually true in this moment, because I think sometimes, with our situations where we're not safe, we are reacting out of fear that flight mode, whatever it is and so then you may be in a safe space later, but then, whether it's your thought, creates your emotion, but then it all brings you back to the space where you truly are unsafe, and it's really again those practices of you know, reminding yourself that you're safe now and being able to cycle through them.
- 7:28Speaker 1: But it's just, it's so, it's so deep and it's so vast and it's so incredible, right, and it's like it can be really painful and scary, but it is also so beautiful at the same time.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think if it all depends on your program and like, if you see your emotions as something powerful within you, and that's the truth is, when you master this, you are self-mastered, because most people are literally being tossed from this emotion to that emotion, because they are allowing external circumstances to determine their emotions.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Yeah, because, they are allowing external circumstances to determine their emotions.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Yeah, and you understand that that power comes from within you and you have full control over yourself and your responses, then nothing outside of self could ever make you feel any kind of way.
- 8:26Speaker 1: What is the tie between our emotions and spirit?
- 8:29Speaker 1: Because that's something that I've, you know, like emotions or spirit speaking through us.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I've heard like different, I guess, interpretations of that.
- 8:38Speaker 1: I would just be curious.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:40Speaker 2: So I think it depends on how you define spirit.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I think a lot of people have a lot of different ways in how they define spirit.
- 8:52Speaker 2: In my journey and as I said, I have to just kind of have termed as God or the universe, or the source or the oneness is what we feel as energy.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Right, and I have come into the realization that this energy is this unconditional bliss oneness that you feel Like you literally merge with everything and you become one with everything.
- 9:34Speaker 2: So, in order to know what this bliss, this oneness, this unconditional love feels like, you have to know what emotions feel like.
- 9:47Speaker 2: So, because I know what this bliss and unconditional spirit, divine love, feels like, I know what it doesn't feel like, I know when I'm depressed or I know when I'm in fear or I know when I'm in doubt, because none of that aligns with this bliss, euphoric feeling of unconditional divine love.
- 10:14Speaker 2: I hope that helps?
- 10:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it does.
- 10:19Speaker 1: And then I guess like going with that, then you know, how do we discern between what's coming through?
- 10:25Speaker 1: So, like I understand, you know divine, you know bliss and love and all those things, and then, coming from maybe a reactionary, like an emotional experience that's based in like trauma, because I I'm trying to clarify my question Sometimes I wonder if it's just trauma-based my response, or if it's an actual reaction to the moment, like this is unsafe, or or if I, you know, maybe like spirit saying don't do this because you know something would happen.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Of course we never really know.
- 10:51Speaker 1: We either trust spirit or we don't.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Right, does that make sense?
- 10:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:55Speaker 2: So I think that, again, it is about literally being conscious every single moment in that moment.
- 11:05Speaker 2: So typically, if it's a trigger response, you're very reactionary.
- 11:10Speaker 2: You don't even think about it, you're not even thinking.
- 11:14Speaker 2: You're responding without even thinking because the body is just triggered and it's just this triggered and it's just this.
- 11:21Speaker 2: But if there's a true download from spirit and you're trying and there's a guidance, it's really peaceful and it's quiet and it's not loud.
- 11:38Speaker 2: So you really have to be in the moment to feel what spirit is trying to nudge you into.
- 11:43Speaker 2: It won't be forceful, it's not going to be reactionary, it's going to be peaceful, it's going to be nudging and that's why it's like follow the nudges follow the nudges because it's not loud, and that's why you have to be in peace in this, in this present moment, to to hear it, to discern it, like you.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think sometimes it is just that simple, right, it's like we overcomplicate it and it's really like coming back, like how is this message coming to me?
- 12:16Speaker 1: Is it peaceful or is it fear-based?
- 12:18Speaker 1: You know, like you said, that love or fear is being the only two like real, like emotions that we're coming from, right, and I think, reminding ourselves of that where, yeah, if it's very chaotic and it's very overwhelming, it's probably not coming from that place of love.
- 12:31Speaker 2: And yeah, I, I, I definitely.
- 12:34Speaker 2: If there's anything, if you need in the moment to say, okay, what's happening?
- 12:39Speaker 2: Because sometimes you are in situations that's not very clear, there's no clarity in what decision you make I say, if it makes you feel peace, that is the direction you should go.
- 12:53Speaker 2: If it's uncertainty, if it's chaotic and you don't know what to do, don't do anything, just wait.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Wait until that peace comes in.
- 13:04Speaker 2: We don't have to make decisions right away.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I think sometimes we feel like we do but wait until that peace in your decision comes, and it will come.
- 13:19Speaker 2: It always comes.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Now it may not come right away because there's some you know it's very mulky that you have to sift through, like different emotions or different issues.
- 13:28Speaker 2: That's going on triggers, whatever it is, but peace will definitely always come and that's when you're going in the right direction.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and that sort of opens the door to one of the topics that I wanted to touch on.
- 13:44Speaker 1: And then I want to come back to, like, the actual tools of mastering.
- 13:47Speaker 1: But it just reminds me of dating and relationships, of you know, I think a lot of people feel very confused and, like you know how to deal with their emotions, how to understand other people's emotions, and I think people tend to just like ping pong off of each other.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Right, we're playing out our trauma.
- 14:04Speaker 1: We tend to attract people that sort of fill that aspect of us, and I know I've been in many situations where I'm so confused I'm like what is happening, right?
- 14:12Speaker 1: And I do come back to myself.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, if I feel confused and uncertain and unclear, this probably isn't for me, right, but we form attachments to people and it can be really confusing to just, like you know, cut the tie and things like that.
- 14:33Speaker 1: So how do we navigate our emotions in something like dating or love or relationships or whatever it is, you know, where we have really intensified feelings, be it love or passion or anything like that, right, where it, where it is a little bit harder to sort of like contain them and get to a space where you're like okay, I can just like be neutral right now, you know.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you have to figure out what.
- 14:51Speaker 2: What is the emotion that's overwhelming you Like.
- 14:54Speaker 2: If you're like head over heels about somebody and oh my God, I'm so into this person, it feels so amazing.
- 15:02Speaker 2: I think that's a good thing.
- 15:03Speaker 2: I think you just have to see it out, right.
- 15:06Speaker 2: But if it's like but people also so sabotaged, so that's important to know because you could ruin a good thing because of your past triggers, yeah, so if the emotion is oh, this is going to end up like every other emotion.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Oh he's great, but he's going to cheat on me.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Oh, this that's coming from past trauma and that's triggers.
- 15:29Speaker 2: So it's like is the overwhelming emotion fear, or is it a sense of love?
- 15:39Speaker 2: And that's important to discern.
- 15:43Speaker 2: You can literally apply this to every single situation.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Are you overwhelmed because you're fearful or, oh my God, this could potentially be the love of my life?
- 15:55Speaker 2: And it's a difference.
- 15:59Speaker 2: You have to constantly ask yourself the questions, and self-assessment is one of the steps in my book, because you cannot master what you don't analyze.
- 16:10Speaker 2: So when we ask ourselves the questions, why am I feeling this way?
- 16:15Speaker 2: Where is this coming from?
- 16:19Speaker 2: What is the root cause of this emotion?
- 16:22Speaker 2: And you literally give yourself time to see it.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Let the answers come in, you'll figure it out.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I definitely think.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Yeah, getting to know yourself is so helpful.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I found that making lists of because I think sometimes when we're beginning to date somebody and we get all cut up in everything and then we become intimate and then it becomes a bigger thing it's sometimes the lines are so blurred, right, we just we get really.
- 16:53Speaker 1: It's like, um, just our vision becomes blurred of like what's actually our boundaries, what we actually want, and we excuse a lot of behavior.
- 16:59Speaker 1: We're like, oh, no, it's fine, because like, oh, my gosh, they're so amazing, like whatever.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Right, so I find for myself, yeah, just really getting to know myself, and like having a list of like, not like non-negotiables or things that I really do want, right Cause I think sometimes we let things go once and then they go twice and then it gets to a point where we're like, whoa, like I don't actually that's not like aligned with my values, like you know.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Absolutely, and I don um absolutely, but it's we should um.
- 17:29Speaker 2: I don't think we should compromise on that, like there are certain things that I will not tolerate, that I've never tolerated, and I don't care how far we're into it that tolerate, and I'm not saying that I can't forgive, right, we forgive all the time, but you do have to have those non-negotiables, yeah, and.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I think, yeah, and you're worthy of that.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Like you, you're worthy of that, and someone the right one is going to respect that 100 yeah so I think it's like knowing that we're worthy to get what we want mm-hmm.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Well, that's where I think all this worthy to get what we want.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Well, and that's where I think all this work comes in right.
- 18:10Speaker 1: We have to have the self-worth in order to see the red flags, in order to kind of sift through the emotions that can come up during the, you know, especially beginning phases, cause I think once you set that like precedent of like what you're going to tolerate or what you're going to stand, or what you're going to allow, like it becomes.
- 18:24Speaker 1: It becomes like the, I guess, um, the standard, yeah, yeah.
- 18:29Speaker 1: So what are some tools to then begin to like master our emotions?
- 18:34Speaker 1: I know you talked about self-assessment.
- 18:35Speaker 1: I think that's a great one.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I think getting to know ourselves is so important.
- 18:39Speaker 2: So this is the power tool seven steps to mastering emotions, right?
- 18:43Speaker 2: So gaining emotional intelligence, getting the best out of life.
- 18:46Speaker 2: So it really.
- 18:48Speaker 2: I started off talking about self-mastery because you want to basically own your emotions.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Master your emotions so that you can master yourself.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Like you said, figuring out who you are said figuring out who you are.
- 19:11Speaker 2: And so mastery, literally it puts us in our own goddess as women and our own gods as men.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Right, we own ourselves.
- 19:16Speaker 2: We become so self-sufficient in that.
- 19:19Speaker 2: So I go.
- 19:20Speaker 2: It's seven chapters, right?
- 19:23Speaker 2: So I talk about the first one is identifying your emotions.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Can't master what you don't even know that you're feeling.
- 19:32Speaker 2: What are you feeling?
- 19:33Speaker 2: Because sometimes emotions show up in one way and there's totally different.
- 19:38Speaker 2: So, for example and I'll talk about the guys, guys typically their biggest emotion is anger, but it shows up in a lot of different ways, so many different ways.
- 19:51Speaker 2: It shows up as being possessive or jealous, or, you know, controlling, but the root, the root anger issue, is anger, and it could have started way back in their childhood.
- 20:05Speaker 2: So we have to identify the emotion, right?
- 20:09Speaker 2: Let's talk about working women, right, they come home, they're tired, so they yell at their kids, you know, or whatever it is and it comes off as frustration, but they're really overworked.
- 20:27Speaker 2: So it's like what's the root cause of what I'm feeling and it shows up in so many different ways.
- 20:34Speaker 2: So I ask people like when you're, when you're in this emotional fit, or rage or whatever it is what's the root cause?
- 20:48Speaker 2: Because a lot of times we project, we're projecting onto others, other situations that have nothing to do with what we're really feeling.
- 20:56Speaker 2: So identify, and the thing is, these steps, sometimes it takes a while, like you can't, you may not identify what you're feeling right away.
- 21:08Speaker 2: You may have to go through counseling, you may have to go through coaching, you may have to, you know, talk to your parents, look back at your childhood to figure out what exactly is this emotion Cause people don't even know what they're feeling.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Emotion because people don't even know what they're feeling.
- 21:27Speaker 2: A lot of times you know, even now it's like we're very overstimulated.
- 21:32Speaker 2: We have, you know, kids play games, we're on social media, the phones and notifications, all of this and people want to call it ADHD.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Is it really ADHD or are we overstimulated and we need some peace versus the brain constantly on go?
- 21:51Speaker 2: So it's like, identify what you're feeling, and that takes a while.
- 21:56Speaker 2: You got to identify it and then, once you identify, you have to accept it.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Identify, you have to accept it.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Especially if it's very triggering, very emotional pain tied to it.
- 22:13Speaker 2: You have to accept it.
- 22:13Speaker 2: We cannot like, heal, change or master anything that we don't accept, and I think acceptance is very, very, very hard for a lot of people.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Yeah, because you have to look at it.
- 22:27Speaker 2: You have to literally look at it.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I've been, so I do astrology and part of that is, you know, pluto is, you know, the underworld, that's Hades, but Pluto in aspect to your moon can be really, really intense and I have that, and so, but with that acceptance piece, it's come to a point where it's like, maybe that intensity of emotions, it is accepting that maybe it's just part of my, my human experience, Right, and I don't have to do anything about it.
- 22:57Speaker 1: It doesn't mean anything about me, it's just sort of is, but I, but you have, I agree with you, right, you have to face sometimes the darkest shadows and that's what's uncomfortable, right, and it's like, sort of, when you can go through that, you can be like, okay, it doesn't have to be anything bigger than it is.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think it depends on what label we tie to it, right?
- 23:19Speaker 2: So, like you said, pluto has.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Pluto has all these, you know, extreme emotions to it.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Well, is that what you read?
- 23:30Speaker 2: Is that what you're experiencing and is that what you're actually like relating to it?
- 23:35Speaker 2: And now it's actually manifesting in your own personal life.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Mm, hmm.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so it.
- 23:42Speaker 2: You know all of that plays a part, but I think acceptance is is so important.
- 23:46Speaker 2: When I was able to accept everything that happened in my life you know two divorces, you know all of that, my parents passed away, I lost a brother, I mean tons of things when I was able to accept everything that was happening and just allow it to run through me, feel the emotion, feel what was happening, but don't get stuck in it.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Allow it to move through me in a healthy way is like acceptance creates that doorway Right and which is next is after you accept it.
- 24:23Speaker 2: So if you could accept I'm pretty emotional, I'm a very emotional person Then you can analyze it.
- 24:30Speaker 2: We can start to figure out.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Where does it come from?
- 24:34Speaker 2: Ok, I'm emotional.
- 24:36Speaker 2: All right, this happened to me.
- 24:38Speaker 2: I got a divorce.
- 24:40Speaker 2: It was very painful.
- 24:41Speaker 2: All right, let me analyze it.
- 24:43Speaker 2: What did I do to contribute?
- 24:46Speaker 2: Where does it come from?
- 24:48Speaker 2: You know what happened in it, analyze it, figure it out what mistakes happened, what, what scenario brought on the emotion during this time?
- 25:01Speaker 2: And we have to analyze it because if we don't, it'll repeat itself until we do the exact same type of emotion.
- 25:13Speaker 2: It'll come up in different scenarios, until you figure it out and then you pass the test.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Yeah, this is why this keeps showing up in my life.
- 25:23Speaker 2: So analyzing can take seven, eight years, especially if you're on a journey, a spiritual journey.
- 25:31Speaker 2: It can take a long time, but you have to analyze.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Why did any of this happen in my life?
- 25:38Speaker 2: Is it a part of my soul journey?
- 25:42Speaker 2: Is it a major soul lesson that I have to learn?
- 25:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I think seeing those patterns is huge, because it's the same thing.
- 25:55Speaker 1: You have to see it, otherwise you're just going to continue looping it.
- 25:59Speaker 2: You just keep looping it.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Then let's say you accept it.
- 26:05Speaker 2: You've been analyzing it.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Ok, you know I get angry if somebody cuts me off in traffic.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Every single time I have bad road rage every time somebody does that.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Right, and I'm not me personally, but I'm just using that scenario.
- 26:22Speaker 2: I'm not me personally, but I'm just using that scenario.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Once we analyze I see my father do this all the time.
- 26:29Speaker 2: My father had so much rage in the house, or you know if, if I did, I had to tiptoe in my own house.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Now this rage is in me.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Right, you know.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Now you can pinpoint where it comes from, because you spent some time analyzing it.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Now you can choose to respond differently and we have a choice.
- 26:51Speaker 2: A lot of people will say this is just who I am.
- 26:53Speaker 2: This is this is just me.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Accept it or leave it.
- 26:57Speaker 2: No, you have a choice.
- 26:58Speaker 2: You do not have to respond in anger rage.
- 27:01Speaker 2: You know any of that stuff.
- 27:03Speaker 2: You do not have to respond that way.
- 27:06Speaker 2: You have a choice.
- 27:07Speaker 2: You can choose to respond differently.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and choosing to respond requires a response and not just a reaction.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Earlier, we talked about discerning.
- 27:23Speaker 2: You automatically react without even thinking when you are choosing to respond.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Oh, here's that rage.
- 27:32Speaker 2: I just got cut off in traffic.
- 27:34Speaker 2: It's all good.
- 27:36Speaker 2: I'm going to take a deep breath in this moment.
- 27:38Speaker 2: I'm going to respond.
- 27:40Speaker 2: I'm going to wave at the person that just cut me off.
- 27:43Speaker 2: I'm choosing to respond differently, and we have that choice.
- 27:50Speaker 2: We can choose to respond differently.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:54Speaker 2: So and then it's like you have to know and forgive the triggers.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Know and forgive the triggers.
- 28:04Speaker 2: So, for example, the road rage right, I chose to wave at the person that cut me off instead of flicking them off as this trigger keeps coming.
- 28:15Speaker 2: I'll know it, I'll recognize it and then I could forgive that trigger, which was originally my father, who was always raging in my home when I was a child.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Right then, I have to forgive my father, I have to forgive myself.
- 28:33Speaker 2: But you see how this is literally a journey, but the steps take you through it and it's not always a smooth sail.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Sometimes it's up and down, sometimes you're going to go back to step one and be like okay, what am I feeling right now?
- 28:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and I think, with that repetition and continuing to come back like time and time again, even if you're come back 10 minutes after maybe if you did react and then you're just sort of course, correcting it again yeah, it definitely takes time and like come in repetition to make that questioning and curiosity a habit of like what is this feeling?
- 29:13Speaker 1: And going through the steps in your mind or whether you need to take a break and just take a breather and then come back to the situation.
- 29:18Speaker 1: It takes time and self-awareness to get there and I think it could be discouraging along the way, but it you know and that's what we call doing the work.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Like you just said, is is coming back to that trigger, each time responding a little bit different, and you might just have one day that the raise just comes up and you messed up and you'll be like I messed up this time, but you are now aware of the trigger.
- 29:46Speaker 1: You know the trigger and you can forgive the trigger I was going to say forgiveness in those moments is huge.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Yes, exactly, and it's so important to forgive yourself in those moments.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Because I think.
- 30:00Speaker 2: If you don't, you spiral back down into those lower emotions of guilt.
- 30:07Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 30:09Speaker 2: I feel guilty because I just raged out on somebody.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Yeah, you got to forgive yourself.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Give yourself love.
- 30:18Speaker 2: I'm trying.
- 30:19Speaker 2: I did good three times.
- 30:22Speaker 2: This is that one time, but I'm aware of this trigger and I'm forgiving the trigger and I'm forgiving myself through it.
- 30:31Speaker 1: And how does your approach differ and I don't know if the book speaks to this a little bit, but how does your approach differ between men and women?
- 30:37Speaker 1: Because we talked about that a little bit before offline, and I think men may, just because of society, have it a little bit more suppressed, I mean, like women have it suppressed too, but I think it's it's different energy.
- 30:50Speaker 1: So I'd just be curious what the approach would be between the two.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Yeah, so it is.
- 30:56Speaker 2: It's very different with men and women, just by design, just the way the most high created us women.
- 31:04Speaker 2: We are emotional beings, we are energy, emotion.
- 31:07Speaker 2: I think the way that society has programmed us as humanity, men are not supposed to show emotions, they're not supposed to express emotions, and I think that is why males have the highest suicide rate right now, because they suppress all of this.
- 31:28Speaker 2: So it's very different.
- 31:32Speaker 2: I also think that we have somehow accepted women being emotional, whether it was healthy or not healthy or toxic, and we have not accepted the expression of emotions in men.
- 31:47Speaker 2: But the steps are the same regardless, because you have to know what you're feeling, whether you're a man or a woman.
- 31:55Speaker 2: You have to accept what you're feeling whether you're a man or a woman.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Now I think that because women, we're emotional beings and we have just the way society has put us, we tend to know how to go through these steps faster and get through it quicker, and men sometimes get stuck because they don't even know what they're feeling.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Yeah, like I've had people tell me I'm numb, I don't feel anything, I don't even.
- 32:42Speaker 2: I don't even know where to begin.
- 32:43Speaker 2: I'm so numb, and so I think women tend to get through these steps faster at each, each issue, whether she had one relationship, the next relationship, whether it was, you know, a pregnancy, a death.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Like women tend to get through these things and get through them faster, men tend to really get stuck, and that's what I've seen in my coaching, even in in my medical practice all of it.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think they're almost sometimes like inability to deal with our emotions as well.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Maybe, I don't know if that's just confronting or you know, women could also be very reactionary and overly express.
- 33:22Speaker 2: I know that there's a a big dynamic there, um yeah, I think that, um, both men and women, how they express their emotions, how they accept their emotions, how they deal with the emotions, how they even view their emotions, stem a lot from their own parents, how their parents allow them, as children, to express their own emotions.
- 33:47Speaker 2: So my son, as I was telling you, he's 14.
- 33:52Speaker 2: He's going to be 15.
- 33:53Speaker 2: I have always, always, talked to him.
- 33:57Speaker 2: I've always asked him how he feel about things.
- 34:00Speaker 2: I always want his opinion on things.
- 34:02Speaker 2: I've never shut him down.
- 34:04Speaker 2: I don't over talk him.
- 34:06Speaker 2: I allow him to speak, um, and take his time to speak.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Women have more words than men.
- 34:13Speaker 2: That's just a scientific fact.
- 34:15Speaker 2: So, I think is how emotions are cultivated in the home.
- 34:20Speaker 2: And we grew up.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and sometimes it's very healthy and sometimes it's not, and sometimes you just need a little tweaking, you know a little bit to accept it and sometimes it's.
- 34:31Speaker 2: It works for you know who you're with now as an adult and all of that.
- 34:38Speaker 2: But all of that is programming in from our own parents, from society, from you know church if that's what you did, from you know church if that's what you did.
- 34:50Speaker 1: It's so many things that programmed us into who we are and how we handle our emotions, and it all started as a young child, yeah, and I think the generations before us just didn't even have these conversations to understand how to help, you know, their children cope with it.
- 35:13Speaker 2: I agree, I totally agree with that, because I think so much of generations before was about survival and you didn't have time to talk about your emotions.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, emotions weren't part of that.
- 35:29Speaker 2: That wasn't a part of that.
- 35:30Speaker 2: It was about putting food on the table and surviving, you know.
- 35:34Speaker 2: But I think, as the earth is ascending, we are too, and we have to raise our vibration, we have to raise our consciousness, and it requires our mental, emotional, to be looked at.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Yeah, and something you said before too.
- 35:53Speaker 1: You know you're talking about your son and I.
- 35:55Speaker 1: My son is seven and I really try, with him as well, to be articulate and you know, if he throws something, I'm like, hey, what's going on, can we talk about it?
- 36:02Speaker 1: Or if I get frustrated with him and shut him down, I'll always come back and be like, hey, that wasn't right of me, like I was, it had nothing to do with you.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Um, because I'm still.
- 36:10Speaker 1: You know, I think parenting also is one of the biggest mirrors and reflections and spiritual things that you can do, because you're constantly facing yourself in these little humans that you've created.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Right, they're like pushing the buttons, um, but how much like our of our emotional experience is like karmic or ancestral that we're taking on within our, just like genetics of like you know, I think it's wild.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Sometimes I think about what children experience like in utero and how that impacts who they are, and they have no actual memory.
- 36:44Speaker 1: They have cellular memory of that, but they have actually no memory and it's literally just like autopilot responses.
- 36:50Speaker 1: It's huge, it's huge Epigenetics.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Epigenetics talks about above the genes, above the genetics, so it's about the environment that we were raised in, right?
- 37:03Speaker 2: So if the environment that your ancestors came from, that's going to be passed down in the lineage, in your blood, in your DNA, so it's up to us to see it.
- 37:20Speaker 2: And sometimes you incarnate in a family that has a lot of ancestral what I want to say ancestral, the word I'm looking for, I don't want to say I'm going to say strongholds, okay, ancestral strongholds.
- 37:40Speaker 2: That has to be changed.
- 37:42Speaker 2: And sometimes you incarnate in that family to change it.
- 37:46Speaker 2: And so sometimes you feel like your journey is hard or difficult, like your soul journey.
- 37:54Speaker 2: But you could be that person that is aware that's a conscious, can see everything in your family lineage that needs to be changed.
- 38:06Speaker 2: So I'll share how I grew up.
- 38:11Speaker 2: I grew up up in Louisiana.
- 38:12Speaker 2: My mom made, I think, maybe $9,000 a year.
- 38:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 38:18Speaker 2: So pretty, pretty humble beginnings.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Right, I had it was four of us, so I have three other siblings.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Siblings and a very, very small town.
- 38:38Speaker 2: Very few opportunities, none of that.
- 38:39Speaker 2: I had one family member that I could talk to.
- 38:40Speaker 2: That was in a traditional four-year university, right.
- 38:45Speaker 2: So I had to overcome a lot.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Health was not important.
- 38:49Speaker 2: There was no gym, nobody worked out, nobody ate healthy.
- 38:53Speaker 2: We actually we my mom for a little while received food stamps, government assistance, so we didn't have healthy meals.
- 39:03Speaker 2: There's all these things that I had to change.
- 39:07Speaker 2: I had to look at my environment and be like I have to do something different or I'm going to end up with the same disease.
- 39:14Speaker 2: I'm going to end up with the same mortality.
- 39:17Speaker 2: I'm going to end up with the same mindset.
- 39:19Speaker 2: So we have to look at the epigenetics which is in our environment and we do have to change it.
- 39:27Speaker 2: There was a lot of everybody smoked cigarettes around me, everybody like all of those things.
- 39:34Speaker 2: These are all things that I had to make completely different decisions on, completely different.
- 39:40Speaker 2: So to escape poverty, to escape, you know, disease, to escape the lack of education, all of that.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it's always so interesting to what it's like, what makes one individual respond in such a different way to break those patterns.
- 40:00Speaker 1: I mean, I think our soul chose it, but it's still always is really fascinating to me where you have people that can come from the same backgrounds and there was always that one.
- 40:07Speaker 1: It's like I got to do things different, like this isn't going to like there's some motivating factor behind this.
- 40:13Speaker 1: You know that one individual, whether it's you or somebody else, that drives you to do better.
- 40:17Speaker 1: And then you have, you know, the rest of the group.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Maybe that is going to repeat those patterns.
- 40:23Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think you just said it.
- 40:25Speaker 2: I think we have to, as, as humans, we're very multidimensional.
- 40:30Speaker 2: That's why to only focus on the physical, on what you see, is very limiting.
- 40:35Speaker 2: We are multidimensional.
- 40:37Speaker 2: We're spiritual beings, we're mental beings, we're emotional beings and we're physical beings, and our soul did choose it.
- 40:44Speaker 2: So sometimes we come back with all of the consciousness that we had in the previous life.
- 40:51Speaker 2: So you got seven and eight year olds that you could talk to them and you know, oh, they're going to be something major because they have all this consciousness within them.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Yeah, we never lose that, and that's so important, because that's why it's important to understand what you take with you and what you don't, and that way you get very, very clear on what's important in this life.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Yeah, Very clear.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I was talking to my son's teacher I think his last year's teacher and she was like she said she's been teaching for over 10 years.
- 41:28Speaker 1: She's like I've never seen a generation of kids like the ones that are coming through now.
- 41:32Speaker 1: There's something different about them.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Yeah, so what I hear is that there's no like.
- 41:41Speaker 2: These are all old souls.
- 41:42Speaker 2: There's no new souls, like all the kids that's coming in there.
- 41:46Speaker 2: They've been here and they're here for such a time because the earth is changing yeah, changing and everyone wants to be here during this time.
- 41:56Speaker 2: That's what I said.
- 41:57Speaker 2: It's amazing.
- 41:58Speaker 2: It's amazing time to be alive.
- 42:00Speaker 2: If you could tap in do the work and ascend with the planet.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Yeah, when I think anybody listening to this and anybody really doing this work knows the truth of that right Like we're not.
- 42:13Speaker 1: My life hasn't been easy.
- 42:15Speaker 1: My emotional experience hasn't been easy, but I know it's for a very specific reason.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Like I chose this, you know like I'm here to experience all these things for whatever purpose.
- 42:23Speaker 1: That may not be clear to me right now, Um, and I think just so many people that I interact with and I can have these like conversations, I know that, like just doing this work for ourselves is so impactful for where we're headed because you can feel it Like the energy right now.
- 42:37Speaker 1: You can feel it.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Absolutely, and you had mentioned just how in utero, how children can have all these things within them.
- 42:47Speaker 2: They have no memory of it.
- 42:49Speaker 2: I actually interviewed this young lady on my podcast.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Her name is Elizabeth Hoekstra and she was adopted and she her hope.
- 42:59Speaker 2: She said for a great deal of her life, I think into her 20s.
- 43:03Speaker 2: She was very destructive.
- 43:05Speaker 2: She drank a lot of alcohol.
- 43:08Speaker 2: She was just angry, a lot of anger.
- 43:11Speaker 2: She had no idea where it came from.
- 43:13Speaker 2: She had this lack of self-love and self-worth.
- 43:19Speaker 2: But in her healing she had did some transgression work and it took her back in utero and that feeling of the mother not wanting her, the feeling of being in a crib and not being hugged or cared for or nurtured, not even as that bonding when a newborn comes out of the womb, it's that bonding with the mother.
- 43:43Speaker 2: That's so, so, so important because it actually is linked to failure to thrive in kids, in young babies.
- 43:51Speaker 2: So she was regressed and experienced all of those emotions again and she was able to figure it out, heal it and release it and it was so profound because there are emotions in us, there's things within us that is connected to our lineage and we have no memory of it, but we feel it.
- 44:18Speaker 2: We feel it and we don't know why we have this, this doom and gloom with us Right.
- 44:24Speaker 2: But it could have been because our mother was depressed the whole pregnancy, depressed the whole pregnancy and all of those emotions, those hormones all of those stress hormones is connected and going to the baby during pregnancy.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Yeah, it was so deep.
- 44:42Speaker 1: It really does.
- 44:44Speaker 1: I know that's like reminded me of like when I was really doing the work, of just like even doing like hypnosis or something that can sort of bring you back to those times, because I my mom listens to this podcast.
- 44:55Speaker 1: I love her dearly and I know that every parent you know we do the best that we can with what we have.
- 44:58Speaker 1: But one of the I have like abandonment issues and my parents are still together I'm, but I have this fear of rejection, this fear of abandonment.
- 45:06Speaker 2: That was a huge abandonment issue.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Yeah Well, I was brought back to and I've heard these stories from my mom and my grandmother.
- 45:15Speaker 1: But I guess when I was younger, I cried a lot and my parents tried the cry it out method, which was huge at that time Just let the kids cry, they'll be fine, right.
- 45:21Speaker 1: But my grandmother would say, oh, you'd cry for hours and it broke my heart.
- 45:25Speaker 1: And my mom said they were calling radio stations because they didn't know how to get me to stop crying.
- 45:29Speaker 1: And I, like, had this vision during like a hypnosis, of, like me, like just sitting in this crib in a dark room, just terrified, and I felt abandoned, right, and so I slept with the covers over my head until I was like 12.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Like, I was terrified of the dark and in my adult relationships there's always been this theme of this like, oh, my gosh, you're going to leave me.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Like, you know that, like, and so knowing that, like I don't have memories of that, like I don't actually remember that time in my life, but going back to that period through whatever modality that can bring you there, now it's like okay, you know, I know my parents loved me.
- 46:01Speaker 1: They weren't abandoning me by putting me in there.
- 46:03Speaker 1: They were trying to get me to sleep through the night, you know.
- 46:06Speaker 1: But it's incredible what we take on through that time of our life to mean something about us subconsciously and, like I kind of started this talking about those subconscious thoughts that create our emotions, we're not even aware of them, right.
- 46:19Speaker 1: So to take the pause to figure that out is so important to break the cycle, because otherwise we're just on autopilot, on loop, we're on autopilot and it's huge.
- 46:30Speaker 2: You have to stop and assess and you have to do the work.
- 46:35Speaker 2: You have to look into the subconscious mind, because the subconscious mind is what's on.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Autopilot is how you could learn how to ride a bike and get on a bike for the rest of your life and remember how to do it.
- 46:47Speaker 2: And in the subconscious is what's running the programs.
- 46:53Speaker 2: And that's why we're unconscious of it, like we're conscious of this conversation, right, but everything that's running our programs is underneath it and it's 90% of our mind, 10% of what we see consciously.
- 47:12Speaker 2: That's it.
- 47:13Speaker 2: It's only 10%.
- 47:14Speaker 2: 10% is conscious, yeah.
- 47:18Speaker 2: And that's huge, yeah, yeah.
- 47:20Speaker 2: So you almost have to look at your, at your, your, your body, your mind, your emotions as a program and that you can literally take off the old programming and upload a new program.
- 47:38Speaker 2: You can do it but it is definitely possible.
- 47:45Speaker 1: I would love to know I know you spoke in the beginning about that unconditional love piece I would love to know what your specific, specific like your relationship with emotions started as, what that looked like and how, through this work, like you experience them now and then, if there's any specific uh tool you know in that self-assessment phase, like in the beginning when we're starting to, whether it's, you know, meditation or breath work or some like tangible tool that you have used that's just to support yourself and sort of like taking that pause and like reflecting.
- 48:11Speaker 1: Okay, so the question is what yours like, what your relationships were emotion with emotions were before you started and then how you began to transform that and what they look like now and then.
- 48:24Speaker 2: If there was just any specific tool that like helped you in the beginning, okay, so I would say in my household, um, although we we didn't have a lot of material things, we grew up in a lot of love.
- 48:39Speaker 2: My mom was very loving, she was very nurturing, she was very honest with situations.
- 48:47Speaker 2: We talked a lot you know all of that so very, very loving environment.
- 48:53Speaker 2: Okay, so emotions was welcomed.
- 48:57Speaker 2: Emotions was talked about and especially she had three girls and she, oh she, just she was good at it.
- 49:04Speaker 2: She was really really good at teaching us as young girls, young women, how to honor our emotions, how to respect our emotions, and that it was, it was a part of what made us women.
- 49:17Speaker 2: So I think I was pretty balanced with my emotions.
- 49:29Speaker 2: I've always been, I think, consciously aware of not just responding but thinking about it and then coming up with a response.
- 49:34Speaker 2: So I've never been quick to just react to things at all.
- 49:38Speaker 2: I've always, like, taken a step back and I think I've been awakened to this consciousness for a long time, but not necessarily expressing it, if that makes sense.
- 49:50Speaker 2: So how that aligns was how that aligns was I was at a place where I had been through a marriage and it was my second marriage, and I thought I had crossed my T's, dotted my I's all of that.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Right it was.
- 50:10Speaker 2: It was really a great relationship and he was he's a great person.
- 50:14Speaker 2: But when we got married it it it wasn't based on unconditional love as my belief that marriage, or anytime two souls come together, it should be based on right.
- 50:29Speaker 2: It seemed it started to be more about checking the boxes off.
- 50:35Speaker 2: All right, we did that.
- 50:38Speaker 2: We did that.
- 50:39Speaker 2: We did that and I was at a point where I was like no, I want a relationship, I want a love that I could feel at the depths of my soul.
- 50:50Speaker 2: And that was literally the words I put out.
- 50:52Speaker 2: And if you know anything about the universe, you know that what you put out to it in emotion and that's another reason why we have to know our emotions, because it's our creative power and the emotion that you put behind a desire of the heart will manifest even quicker, manifest even quicker.
- 51:24Speaker 2: So I put out that desire for unconditional love that I could feel the depths of my soul.
- 51:25Speaker 2: So when that started to happen, my whole world started to change.
- 51:29Speaker 2: That marriage started to dissolve, but in that I started to recreate a life that was literally in the vibration of love, like literally, I felt it.
- 51:43Speaker 2: I felt the energy running through me.
- 51:45Speaker 2: There was all these amazingly beautiful loving experiences that were attracted to me and in that I literally found my twin flame, attracted magnetically to me, and that relationship has been purpose work.
- 52:02Speaker 2: We both, we both have been on this journey.
- 52:05Speaker 2: We both give to this journey.
- 52:07Speaker 2: We both anchor down that unconditional love.
- 52:10Speaker 2: He does it in a masculine, I do, I do it in a feminine, and it's what we put back out and it was, it was revealed to us.
- 52:19Speaker 2: You know that this was what it was all about.
- 52:24Speaker 1: That's beautiful.
- 52:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it is.
- 52:27Speaker 2: And I'm not saying it's easy.
- 52:28Speaker 2: I'm not saying that this journey is easy because it takes a lot of courage to give up the things that this world will tell you, that our society tell you is important, such as the material things.
- 52:42Speaker 2: Like who gives up material things for unconditional divine love?
- 52:46Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's the only thing we can take with us and I was very clear on that as well.
- 52:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that's powerful.
- 52:56Speaker 1: And I think that's possible, you know, and and stories like that, it's expansive for those of us that truly, like in our soul, like believe that it's.
- 53:03Speaker 1: It's possible, you know, and it sort of allows us to shed a little bit of the weight.
- 53:07Speaker 1: You know, when we hear, you know what's out there.
- 53:11Speaker 2: It's very possible, but the truth is we attract who we are.
- 53:15Speaker 2: Truth is we attract who we are.
- 53:28Speaker 2: So it became very clear to me that I had to become unconditional divine love in order for me to attract that to me.
- 53:33Speaker 2: So you mentioned it earlier like if we're attracting people with abandonment issues, or we're attracting people with abandonment issues, or we're attracting people with anger issues, or we're attracting people you know who is lack of self-worth, then we have to look at ourselves, because relationships are a mirror.
- 53:47Speaker 2: We're mirroring all the time, Just like with our kids.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Right, it's a mirror.
- 53:52Speaker 2: All relationships are a mirror.
- 53:55Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's what I've discovered with dating.
- 53:58Speaker 1: It's become not an experiment, but that that mirror, like I attracted for so long dismissive men, and there's a reason for it, right, because I felt like I could then reject them or I could be like you know, it was safe, right, if I didn't have to be too vulnerable and I really had to look at myself and be like I want more.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Yet I'm continuing to date the same type of person, getting in the same situation.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Something has to change and it's me.
- 54:21Speaker 1: And yeah, like you said, that's really we.
- 54:25Speaker 1: We attract what we are.
- 54:26Speaker 1: And that was really powerful when I began to be like, okay, I like you and this could work.
- 54:32Speaker 1: But this is not.
- 54:34Speaker 1: You know, this to me is a boundary, this is I need this, and if you can't meet that we're, this to me is a boundary, this is I need this, and if you can't meet that, we're going to have to part ways.
- 54:41Speaker 1: And it's that trust of knowing like there is something on the other side.
- 54:43Speaker 1: There's 7 billion people in this world.
- 54:45Speaker 1: There's no way that that one person is the end, all be all, you know.
- 54:49Speaker 1: And so sometimes it feels a little almost like delusional where I'm like, oh, like I know, the exact thing that I want is coming in it.
- 54:58Speaker 1: Like you said, it's when I get to that point that I know that.
- 55:06Speaker 2: I'll be able to be in something I'll be able to receive and give and have that mutual exchange, and you have to be that.
- 55:09Speaker 2: Mm, hmm.
- 55:10Speaker 2: Yeah, you have to be that.
- 55:14Speaker 2: You have to be putting that exact same energy out that you want in a partner.
- 55:19Speaker 2: You have to be that.
- 55:20Speaker 2: So when I and spirit was clear okay, you want a love that you could feel at the depths of your soul.
- 55:31Speaker 2: I need you to become that and that's when true enlightenment happened for me.
- 55:36Speaker 2: That's when I became one and felt this divine oneness within my body and I mean, you know, literally felt it for months, lived in this.
- 55:48Speaker 2: And then, when it started to dissipate, I had to learn okay, how do, in my moment by moment, my day by day, how do I stay in this vibration?
- 55:59Speaker 2: How do I stay in it, no matter what's going on around me, no matter what the world is giving me, no matter you know, what my child's doing, what what anybody else is doing, how do I stay in that vibration?
- 56:13Speaker 2: And that has become my emotion, that I aim for every day.
- 56:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 56:20Speaker 2: I love that.
- 56:20Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah and it's.
- 56:25Speaker 2: I mean, it's a wide range of emotions, but that unconditional love is the highest emotion and frequency that we could feel in the multiverse.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's literally.
- 56:39Speaker 1: I mean you, it's magnetic.
- 56:41Speaker 1: You can feel, when you're walking around with that, the interactions that you have you know in the in the synchronicities and the things that come into your life and you're like Whoa, but it is when you get shaken a little bit.
- 56:49Speaker 1: Then you're then attracting you kind of spiral and or you can, you know, and then you realize the power of, yeah, that emotion and you are attracting those things that reflect that.
- 57:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's.
- 57:01Speaker 2: You know, when you're not cause.
- 57:03Speaker 2: It wasn't a familiar emotion, this unconditional love.
- 57:08Speaker 2: It wasn't familiar, but I knew what love was Cause.
- 57:13Speaker 2: I felt that in my home.
- 57:14Speaker 2: I felt that with my mom, with my dad.
- 57:16Speaker 2: I felt what I knew.
- 57:17Speaker 2: A lot of people don't even have that and I'm so grateful for that.
- 57:22Speaker 2: People come from very harsh and toxic environments, so I'm so grateful for knowing what that feels like.
- 57:30Speaker 2: But this divine love is a whole nother level, because every cell in my body was vibrating and I felt it and it's healing.
- 57:44Speaker 2: It literally goes to every dark crevices, everything, any pain, issue, any lack you have ever had.
- 57:55Speaker 2: This energy heals it.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Is there a specific practice that you have in your day that keeps you there?
- 58:06Speaker 2: So there's a lot.
- 58:06Speaker 2: There's a lot, I'll tell you.
- 58:09Speaker 2: And I have another book right.
- 58:11Speaker 2: It's called Capacity to Love and Awakening to Unconditional Love, and this is coauthored with my twin flame, okay, but in it I do talk about some things to maintain that vibration.
- 58:25Speaker 2: But the biggest part in it and it took me a while was because when you feel it and then it drops, you're like whoa, what's happening?
- 58:33Speaker 2: And then you think it's everybody else around you.
- 58:36Speaker 2: I can't, I can't do that, I can't do this person.
- 58:38Speaker 2: But I started to understand that we're all given and receiving energy.
- 58:44Speaker 2: You and I.
- 58:45Speaker 2: Right now we're given and receiving energy.
- 58:47Speaker 2: Tonight you walk in a room.
- 58:50Speaker 2: You we say the vibe.
- 58:53Speaker 2: That's because we're feeling the energy of the room.
- 58:58Speaker 2: So you have to know one.
- 59:00Speaker 2: Which energy and what supplies you with energy?
- 59:04Speaker 2: That's another discernment.
- 59:08Speaker 2: So sometimes it's people, sometimes it's behavior, it's activity, sometimes it's a job, sometimes it's family member.
- 59:14Speaker 2: You have to know what's depleting your energy and then what's feeding you, what's giving you that good energy right?
- 59:23Speaker 2: So a lot of times, sitting out in nature, nature is loaded with life force energy.
- 59:29Speaker 2: It's loaded with life force energy.
- 59:32Speaker 2: What we do as humans is we go and we try to pillage it from other humans.
- 59:37Speaker 2: I don't feel good about myself today.
- 59:39Speaker 2: I'm going to call my friend and dump on her.
- 59:41Speaker 2: I don't feel good about myself.
- 59:45Speaker 2: I'm going to go shopping and I'm going to go curse somebody out in the store or whatever it is.
- 59:51Speaker 2: We pillage our energy from other humans when we don't feel loved or we feel depleted.
- 59:59Speaker 2: But you don't have to do that.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: And when I understood that nature has an abundance of life force energy to supply us, to keep filling us over and over and over and over again, I started to really go out in nature.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: The sun supplies you with life force energy.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: The sun actually gives us the most recent updates to our DNA.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: Oceans of water.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: Water is so cleansing, it's healing, it holds memory.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: You could literally dump your entire head under the water and cleanse your entire body, grounding bare feet on the soil of this earth, in the sand.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: Um, but put your bare feet there.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: That's why it's called the soul of your feet, because the energy comes in through that, your palms.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: You can put your palms on the bare earth outside, sometimes just sitting out and listening to birds, listening to crickets, listening, seeing what's coming around you, paying attention to what actually land on you.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: Is it a butterfly Then?
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: What is the omen?
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: So all of these things help to keep my vibration up where I'm not going and dumping on my husband or my son.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: I'm not begging for somebody else to fill my voids, to fill my lack, to fill my lack of energy, to feel my lack of energy.
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: Meditation is huge.
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: It's huge.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: You have to quiet the thoughts in order to feel the heart.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: And you know, I just interviewed with another young lady and we talked about embodiment, right, embodying this unconditional love.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: And I asked her after what was her definition of embodiment?
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: She said it's when you're moving from your mind and into your heart.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: And I love how she said that is because you can't feel if you're constantly thinking yeah, and that's the alignment with men and women.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Men are masculine with men and women.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: Men are masculine there is all mine and women are emotional.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: It's heart.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: So you want to align it.
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: But if you have to let, one rule it has to be the heart.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: It has to be, because logic will talk you out of your blessings every time, because your mind starts to go in that loop.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: It goes in that loop and it's.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: It's analyzing your triggers, your, you know, your past lives, your epigenetics.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: Dna is analyzing all these things.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: So you have to quiet the mind and feel here.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: You have to feel the heart and feel here you have to feel the heart.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: I think that's why it's so hard for men.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: Sometimes I had someone that I was trying to figure out and I was like where do you feel frustration in your body?
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: And he's like I just think it was like you don't feel any physical sensation of frustration.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: He's like, no, I just think I'm frustrated.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: I was like, okay, yeah, that's different.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, that's different.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: That's not my work to do.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm telling you I hear it a lot People don't feel, they feel numb.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: I feel that I get that more from men than women.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Yeah Well, I know this person enough to know that he likely has work to do.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: But again, it's not on me to do it.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: I can only just embody myself and do my own work and hope that the people around me will witness that and then get curious, you know, and be like, oh, he seems really peaceful or you know, whatever it is, and then just try, and I think that's all any of us can do.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: We can't force people to change, we just have to change ourselves.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's another way of how you keep that vibration on a day to day.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Another thing that really like zoned it in for me was because for a little while I tried to balance Right.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: I was working in a major health system, working a lot of hours, you know, difficult days, difficult patients, and I it wasn't.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: It wasn't in alignment with what this, what my heart was tugging to.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: So it's kind of like wanting to feel peace and love but then going into a chaotic situation and not only that, but spending 40 plus hours a week doing it.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: That's too much of my time.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: So that's when I went out full entrepreneurship and created my own clinic, and doing it in the spirit of unconditional love.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: So I had to align every aspect of my life as well in that energy.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: My business relationships are going to be based on love.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: Now, sometimes saying no is the loving thing to do, right, but we could do and stay anything in love, anything.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: So I've aligned my entire life.
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: My podcast, the books that I put out.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: It's about healing.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: It's helping people to get to that highest emotion, that highest emotion that you could feel in your body.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that's so beautiful and sometimes we try to tell ourselves well, I can still do this thing and it not affect me emotionally.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: No, it's affecting you, affecting you yeah, and you know it, I think, and you know it.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: Yeah, you know it.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: Yeah, we always, we all have those moments.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Oh, I knew, I knew better in the moment you know, and I convinced myself out of it, but exactly, yeah um, placing boundaries will help you maintain that vibration.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: It was important, important to me, and I've always been an empath.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: I've always felt the emotions of others and if you don't know how to set boundaries, especially as an empath, you will take on everybody's emotions and none of it belongs to you.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: And now you're feeling what they're feeling.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: I think it was.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: I think it is in seven steps to mastering emotions.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: I use the example of, let's say, your spouse had a bad day at work.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: Now you, you're good, you've been having a good day, but your spouse have a bad day.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: Right, they didn't get their bonus, they got into it with a coworker.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: Your spouse walks in with all this same energy.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: If you don't have those boundaries, you're going to be having the exact same experience as your spouse.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: So it's important for us to show compassion, to show empathy to our fellow humans in their time of need, but we do not, and it is not our duty, to take on their burdens or even their journey of healing.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: It's not our duty, matter of fact.
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: When we stay in our peace and our joy, when they are in their own healing journey, it helps to elevate them because they're like okay, I can't just wallow in this because they're not yeah, the people who, please, are in me, like here's that, I'm like, oh, but you want to help them, right, but that.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: But I know, you know, I know better too, but there's still that little thing in there, that's just, and maybe it's the female that wants to nurture, and you know, I don't know, but but even I, even as a woman, that there's boundaries to everything.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: There's boundaries, and with the people, pleaser.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: I've learned in my journey that when I say no to others, I'm saying yes to myself, because we don't know how to say no.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: Yeah and no is so powerful.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: Yeah, when I started, you know, my life changed.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: Yeah and I, I reserved energy for me.
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: I reserved energy for the things that I wanted to do.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: You know, you may not want to go to your girlfriend's party, but you can't tell her, no, mm-hmm.
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and when you get honest with yourself again, we attract who we are.
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: When you're honest with yourself, you're going to attract people who's honest with you as well.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: And when we do that with ourself, we allow other people to do the exact same thing.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: Every time I could could be honest with myself.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: I now open the floor for you, rochelle, to be honest with yourself yeah, and we all need that, right, yeah, I.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: I think we wait again.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: You have to be it.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: You have to be that vibration or that thing or whatever it is.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: So I think we wait for other people to take the first step, and it never works out that way.
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: You have to be it in order to attract it, to attract it.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: So if I want honesty, I have to be honest.
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: If I want transparency, I have to be transparent.
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: If I want vulnerability, I have to be vulnerable.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: If I want unconditional love, I have to be unconditional love.
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: That's it.
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: We attract who we are.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that's something I try and remind myself, because I have definitely been an avoider in the past and like communication has not been my strong suit.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: But now I'm like you know, if I want somebody who communicates in a healthy way, I need to initiate that, I need to do that, and so, as challenging and as sticky as that sometimes feels, I'm just like, oh my gosh, I just have to do it.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: And then why is that challenging for you?
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: Because I think I'm more afraid of the person's response to me.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: So if I have to say no to somebody, then they're going to be angry at me and then I make that mean that I'm unworthy or I'm whatever.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: They're not gonna be my friend anymore.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: And I think you know, I've you know, along this spiritual journey when you begin to say no to people and you set boundaries, you do lose friends, and that's just part of the process.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: But to say no to people and you set boundaries, you do lose friends and that's just part of the process.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: But at the end of the day you're losing people that didn't have a place in your life to begin with.
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: We're in supporting you and getting to you know, your highest expression or your highest self, and again that sort of mirror, and so it's like, but it doesn't have to mean anything about me.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: So I've learned to just take a pause and either, if I don't say no in the moment, let.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: So I've learned to just take a pause and either, if I don't say no in the moment, I'll say let me think about it and I'll let you know, you know, so that I know maybe in the moment I know it's a no, but I feel uncomfortable saying that.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: So at least I give myself time to neutralize myself and be like, okay, we're going to approach this with calm clarity.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: I know that it means nothing about me, you know.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: So I think that's where my immediate reaction is, but it is with the tools of just taking that pause.
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: To me that's been huge pausing and then approaching in the way that I know my highest self would so exactly.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that's good stuff yeah, well, thank you so much for coming on today and having this conversation with me.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: It's been so interesting and I know it's gonna be so helpful to the viewer or to the listeners the viewers it's definitely been fun.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: I love talking about emotions.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: I it's so beautiful, especially um when you get up there.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: You know, because I know it's it's.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: It's so painful when you're down there in the doubt and the guilt and the shame and the fear is so painful.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: But the beauty is you always have a choice.
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: You don't have to wallow and drown in your emotions.
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: You literally come out of it and literally it's with a thought.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Gratitude I feel like Right.
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: They say gratitude and like nothing else.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: You can't have gratitude and fear like in the same thought.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: Gratitude I feel like right.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: They say gratitude and like nothing else can.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: You can't have gratitude and fear like in the same thing.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: Right, yeah.
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: You can't.
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: That is so good you, you cannot.
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: You can't have love and fear in the same situation.
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: You're always choosing.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and I always say to you like baby steps will still move you forward.
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: So, even if it's one small step and you go like you still took the step, you still felt what that feels like to move forward.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: And now, hey, I see you, I understand you.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: I may not agree with it, but I, I hear you and I'm taking some time to figure out what that means for me.
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: In your life, if someone's not willing to do that, they're not willing to, they can't meet you because they haven't met themselves.
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: And those have been some of the most healing words for me in my experience in relationships.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: Somebody who's like I don't get it, but you know I'm here for you, or yeah, you know, I witness, I hold space for you, whatever terminology that you know, but it's just that energy is so powerful yeah, and the word capacity is so important.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: People cannot meet you at the level that you want them to.
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: They have not met themselves there.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: And sometimes they just don't have the capacity.
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: That was my situation in my my last marriage.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: The capacity wasn't there, and it didn't mean that he was not a good person and it didn't mean that I wasn't a good person.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: Our capacity didn't match.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: If my capacity is as vast as an ocean and then the other person is as vast as the puddle, it's not a good match.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and we have to accept that and and move on.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: Yeah so, but it's a beautiful journey and and it's um you, it's you can't skip it.
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: You can't skip this part.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: You can't because, it literally, is the shadow work.
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: Is the shadow work?
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: It's your, it's a part of our, it's the energy that's running in your body and it's just showing up as what we call emotions, but it's just energy in motion.
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that's it.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Well, if you want to let everyone know, I'll link the books in the show notes so people can go and get them.
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: I definitely want to get a copy for my daughter.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: I love that.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: That is helpful for teenagers as well and then any other way that they can find you and how they can work with you again, and I'll be linked in the show notes.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: But if you want to know too, yeah.
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: So social media I'm nurse practitioner underscore hired, or you could just put in Janie Charlo.
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: My website is nphirecom.
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: I focus on weight management.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: I'm certified in weight management and functional nutrition and, like I mentioned earlier, I do a mind, body, spirit focus and I do transformational coaching in that because in weight management it's so much emotional baggage that manifests physically as weight and when we start dropping those emotional burdens, our health gets better, weight falls off, we start glowing, our skin gets better, we literally come out of the dis-ease and that's all disease is.
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: It's a dis-ease, it's a disharmony in the mind, the body or spirit.
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so yeah, and you know the books are on Amazon and also on my website as well.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: Of course.
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: Of course, it's been a pleasure.
