- 0:18Welcome to, we Built This brand.
- 0:19I'm your host Chris Hill and Adhrucia is currently
- 0:23in, um, on one of the panels talking right now.
- 0:26So she's not joining us for this interview.
- 0:28Um, but I'm really excited today to have Gwen Simpson with me.
- 0:32Gwen, thank you for, um, your time and happy to talk to you today about your.
- 0:36Um, your company, Phoenix Rising Consultants.
- 0:39Okay, thank you Chris.
- 0:41I'm here at the Equity Angels, uh, conference for
- 0:45Entrepreneurs and I was here to introduce Stacy Spikes.
- 0:50Mm-hmm.
- 0:51Who just finished authoring Black founder and it's a
- 0:55bestseller and uh, I'm happy to be here in California.
- 1:00Yeah.
- 1:00Well, it's great to be here and I'm glad to have you.
- 1:03Um.
- 1:04And yeah, I thought your introduction to Stacy was really great.
- 1:07I mean, yeah, I think he said it best himself.
- 1:09He is like, I'd like to meet that guy.
- 1:10So you clearly had some very kind, very
- 1:13insightful words, um, to say and to introduce him.
- 1:16So
- 1:16yes, Stacy, that was really good's, a visionary and, um.
- 1:20I am a metaphysical practitioner.
- 1:22Okay.
- 1:22So I believe in intuition and premonition and dreams.
- 1:28Mm. And my goal is to help others believe in that
- 1:32intuition and to exercise that to be successful.
- 1:37Oh, interesting.
- 1:38Interesting.
- 1:38So what, what led you to, um, to that career choice to that?
- 1:43Actually my mother and my grandmother and my great-grandmother because
- 1:48my mother remembered her previous lifetimes and shared that with me.
- 1:53And, um, my, uh, relatives are originally from New Orleans, and we do believe
- 1:59in reincarnation and we do believe that we are here in a lifetime to serve
- 2:06and to ensure that others carry on a philosophy of higher consciousness.
- 2:12Hmm.
- 2:12Where everyone is treated equitably.
- 2:15Uh, we do believe in the creator and we believe
- 2:19we are all here and we need to be purpose driven.
- 2:23Yeah.
- 2:23To
- 2:24raise the consciousness of society.
- 2:27Hmm.
- 2:27So I like to counsel, um, young people and inform them about potential.
- 2:34And to give them, uh, a foundation of positive psychology
- 2:39so that they feel whole and they feel, no matter what the
- 2:42circumstances are, they can realize their dreams and their goals.
- 2:47That's really cool.
- 2:48Um, and so, so many questions come from that, but like.
- 2:53It's, it seems interesting that like, so are you, are you
- 2:56consulting with individuals as well as with businesses?
- 2:59Or how does that, how does that, because then how does that get all combined?
- 3:03Because I noticed you had human capital
- 3:05development as also part of your business name.
- 3:07Yes, and I do consult with businesses.
- 3:10Okay.
- 3:11And I do try to.
- 3:12Them strategy so that they understand how to deal with employees and
- 3:18that they understand what employee relationships are in the workplace.
- 3:24Yeah.
- 3:24I also have a private sector, uh, consulting where I consult one-on-one.
- 3:30But that's been my goal in, in human capital development to
- 3:35help companies, uh, achieve success through good employee
- 3:38relations, because employees are the greatest asset, right?
- 3:42And our people are our greatest asset and our youth.
- 3:46Are going to replace us, and we wanna make sure that
- 3:50they have foundations of positive psychology so that
- 3:55they can move and achieve whatever dreams they desire.
- 3:59Hmm, that's interesting.
- 4:01Um, how do you, how do you see that helping, like startups and small businesses.
- 4:07Startups have to use intuition.
- 4:09They have to look at their strategy, they have to believe in the
- 4:12subconscious, they have to ensure that they have a positive foundation
- 4:18so that when they are knocked down, they know how to get up.
- 4:23Mm-hmm.
- 4:24And, uh, entrepreneurs are great examples of that.
- 4:27Everyone's had struggles during a business.
- 4:30Hmm.
- 4:31But
- 4:31do you let that struggle keep you down?
- 4:34Or do you wake up and say, no, I'm gonna make it.
- 4:37I'm not gonna let this struggle break me or break my company.
- 4:40I'm gonna keep on moving.
- 4:42And to understand that there are people in circumstances
- 4:45that happen naturally so they can continue down that path.
- 4:52Yeah, that's, that's really, um, that's really interesting and like.
- 4:57How about the, how about like our current generation?
- 5:00Like what, what are you finding to be some of the
- 5:01challenges maybe now that didn't exist years ago?
- 5:04Or is it just all the same
- 5:07history?
- 5:08Repeat repeats itself, but we have new technology and I think what we're
- 5:11challenged with now is knowing what is real and wasn't what isn't real.
- 5:17Hmm.
- 5:17Because AI is a good technological tool, right?
- 5:21But AI does not have a soul.
- 5:24Only humans have souls.
- 5:26Right?
- 5:26And so we as humans have to remember that
- 5:30we are humans having a spiritual experience.
- 5:35So you can create robots, you can create technology, you can create
- 5:40applications, but human relationships are the most important on the planet.
- 5:46Yeah.
- 5:47Yeah, I, I would agree with that.
- 5:49And I mean, just, it's amazing to me how personable AI can be at times
- 5:54and almost how deceitful it can be in making you think, oh, it has a
- 5:58solar, oh, it knows me better than any person I've ever known in my life.
- 6:01Right.
- 6:02And, um, how it can drag you down a path you may not want
- 6:05to go down if you're too reliant on it, as opposed to,
- 6:09um, you know, trusting on actual human advice and wisdom.
- 6:13And that's some of the challenge that I used.
- 6:16Are experiencing now because they're so tied to their cell
- 6:20phones, they're so tied to social media that they do not
- 6:25engage in human contact as much as generations prior to.
- 6:30Hmm.
- 6:31So we don't wanna lose that.
- 6:34Yeah.
- 6:34And we don't want our youth to think that they're not
- 6:38loved and that no one shares the feelings that they share.
- 6:43Right.
- 6:43But because of social media and because of the cell phone and because of ai.
- 6:48That human contact has declined, especially over the last two decades.
- 6:54Yeah,
- 6:54so we wanna ensure that they understand your people first.
- 6:59You do have a subconscious, you do have a heart chakra.
- 7:03And while AI may give you tools to, uh,
- 7:08handle business, AI does not have a soul.
- 7:12Only the creator can put a soul in a human being.
- 7:15What is one tip you would give to someone who wants to, um, you know,
- 7:21maybe incorporate more of this consciousness in their business and.
- 7:25And how they operate with their employees.
- 7:27Learn who you are.
- 7:30One of the ways I teach individuals to learn who they are is through astrology.
- 7:36I've, uh, studied Carl Young, who did over 4,800
- 7:40charts, and when you learn your son, your moon.
- 7:44Sentence sign and what behaviors are attached.
- 7:48Mm-hmm.
- 7:48You can look at the pros and cons of those behaviors and try
- 7:52to follow the pros, the positive behaviors, so that you're
- 7:57a good human being, being service of service to others.
- 8:01Yeah.
- 8:01That's interesting.
- 8:02Um, I, I find that, you know.
- 8:04Most people will say, you know, learn, you know, the
- 8:07Myers-Briggs or, um, oh, what's the, what's the Enneagram?
- 8:11The one with all the numbers on it.
- 8:12Right?
- 8:13Um, but I've always joked that like, Enneagram, especially
- 8:16where I come from, Enneagram seems to be just the,
- 8:19the conservative Christian version of the horoscope.
- 8:23And it's interesting how all those things can
- 8:25help you learn about yourself in a deeper way.
- 8:28In religion, if you look at religion, there are great,
- 8:31great prophets throughout all religions, and they all had
- 8:35dreams, they all had intuition, and they all followed that.
- 8:40And so good human behavior follows.
- 8:43Every religion on the planet, whether it's the Kabbalah, whether it's
- 8:47Judaism, whether it's Christianity, Christianity, Catholicism, Islam,
- 8:54Hinduism, all of the great religions teach us good human behavior.
- 9:00No.
- 9:01Well, that's really awesome.
- 9:03Well, um, in terms of this podcast, this is, we built this brand.
- 9:08I always like to ask at the end of an interview, um,
- 9:11you know, what brand do you admire the most right now?
- 9:14And so like in the theme of this, like what brand
- 9:16would you say is being the most conscious right now?
- 9:19Or using human consciousness, or maybe that's the wrong way to say
- 9:23it, but what brand would you say you admire the most right now?
- 9:28I admired humanitarian service, and so I would like my company to be
- 9:36known as a service to raise the level of consciousness in humanity.
- 9:47Hmm.
- 9:48So, so who would that company be though,
- 9:52if you were to pick one right now that that is doing that?
- 9:57I think brands through their charity and their philanthropy.
- 10:06Are catering to that human service and humanity because they're
- 10:11all giving to people who are less than people who need help.
- 10:17So I think all Fortune 500 companies, smaller
- 10:20companies, mid-size companies are charitable companies.
- 10:25So I think it's that charitable arm that's really servicing humanity.
- 10:30Gotcha.
- 10:31Well, very cool.
- 10:32Well, Gwen, thank you so much for coming
- 10:34on the podcast for this brief conversation.
- 10:37Um, where can people find out about you and,
- 10:39and reach out to you if they wanna learn more?
- 10:42They can uh, email me at G nineteen82@gmail.com.
- 10:50Alright, we'll make sure I'm also
- 10:51on Instagram Bunny dot Simpson.
- 10:55Excellent.
- 10:55Well, we'll make sure that that's in the, um, show notes and, uh, yeah.
- 10:59Thank you so much for coming on.
- 11:00It's been a pleasure.
- 11:01Thank you.
- 11:02All right.
- 11:02Bye-bye.
