- 0:15Speaker 1: Hey tolerators I know that it has been a minute
- 0:27Speaker 1: I had been posting.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Replay episodes to keep me and to all the men
- 0:31Speaker 2: I've tolerated before fresh in your mind for every break
- 0:36Speaker 2: we've ever taken on to all the men I've tolerated
- 0:38Speaker 2: before and I am so grateful for your patience as
- 0:43Speaker 2: the end of July and August got away from me.
- 0:47Speaker 2: We don't have to get into it. I will not
- 0:52Speaker 2: ask for your sympathy or empathy, but it was a
- 0:57Speaker 2: really great collection of food poisoning rolling into Gen Con,
- 1:05Speaker 2: rolling into A super storm that knocked out our power
- 1:10Speaker 2: for almost two weeks to regaining power, AC and Wi-Fi
- 1:15Speaker 2: just to have to get back to work and get
- 1:21Speaker 2: back into the swing of things while also grieving the
- 1:25Speaker 2: losses that we've experienced this week with Dolly Parton and
- 1:29Speaker 2: Tim Curry. And I don't know how our audience is feeling,
- 1:33Speaker 2: but I really had to take a full day in
- 1:36Speaker 2: bed over our late great queen Dolly. It was hard.
- 1:42Speaker 2: She's everything that this podcast stands for. Uh, she was funny.
- 1:48Speaker 2: She was never afraid to speak her mind. She had
- 1:50Speaker 2: a story for every occasion and she loved all of
- 1:53Speaker 2: us and wanted the world to be a better place.
- 1:57Speaker 2: not out of ego or a greed driving her, but
- 2:04Speaker 2: honestly out of love and because she loved us. And
- 2:07Speaker 2: so yesterday hit me hard. And then this morning hit
- 2:10Speaker 2: me a little bit harder, but we're going to make
- 2:14Speaker 2: it through. And the reason why I'm taking up space
- 2:17Speaker 2: on your feed today is to get me fresh in
- 2:20Speaker 2: your mind that to all the men I've tolerated before
- 2:23Speaker 2: is coming back is because we are coming back next week.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Next week is September. I can't even believe, but here
- 2:33Speaker 2: it is. Summer is wrapping up and that means our
- 2:37Speaker 2: summer break is also wrapping up. And I did just
- 2:40Speaker 2: want to give you a little preview of what we
- 2:42Speaker 2: have coming up next month and to what to expect
- 2:46Speaker 2: from September. tell all the men I've tolerated before in
- 2:50Speaker 2: this next season of episodes until we go on our
- 2:54Speaker 2: holiday break. So we're going to start off the month
- 2:58Speaker 2: with an old and dear friend, Ellen Moore. She's going
- 3:02Speaker 2: to give us a health update. We've known and loved
- 3:05Speaker 2: Ellen Moore since the creation of the show. And she
- 3:11Speaker 2: was one of our very first guests and she's going
- 3:14Speaker 2: through some health and legal stuff. So she's going to
- 3:21Speaker 2: give us an update on how misogyny and patriarchy have
- 3:25Speaker 2: really affected her battle with her health and getting the
- 3:28Speaker 2: aid that she needed. So in the spirit of Dolly Parton,
- 3:33Speaker 2: we're just going to heap a lot of love and
- 3:36Speaker 2: support onto her and listen to her story and hold
- 3:40Speaker 2: space for everything that she has gone through. Then we'll
- 3:43Speaker 2: move into having an episode with a new guest. I
- 3:47Speaker 2: cannot wait for you to meet Kat. And we're going
- 3:52Speaker 2: to talk about something called the Trust Economy, which is
- 3:55Speaker 2: an episode that was built out of my anger for
- 3:59Speaker 2: how news media outlets have started to report on women
- 4:05Speaker 2: and the way that women carry out their lives and
- 4:09Speaker 2: their actions. And specifically when it came to how we
- 4:13Speaker 2: were starting to talk about young women in media like
- 4:17Speaker 2: Chapel Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and anyone who fills that bucket
- 4:25Speaker 2: of young women starting to garner fame in their careers
- 4:32Speaker 2: that patriarchy and misogyny just can't handle. So we have
- 4:36Speaker 2: to talk about it and we will then wrap up
- 4:41Speaker 2: the month with i don't think y'all are ready but
- 4:45Speaker 2: i got i watched through all of desperate housewives and
- 4:49Speaker 2: got really pissed off at tom scavo so i needed
- 4:51Speaker 2: margaret from the smash hit podcast to come back on
- 4:55Speaker 2: and we had to talk about desperate housewives and how
- 4:59Speaker 2: the husbands were losers and how the husbands were lovely
- 5:03Speaker 2: and how I wish bodily harm would happen to the
- 5:06Speaker 2: fictional character, Tom Scavo, every scene that he was on
- 5:10Speaker 2: the TV. So we're going to have a little light.
- 5:13Speaker 2: We're going to have a little laughs. We're going to
- 5:14Speaker 2: talk about how things feel heavy. A lot of the
- 5:18Speaker 2: time as we move into what we're coping with as
- 5:25Speaker 2: our current reality, but I am always so grateful for
- 5:28Speaker 2: this community. If you are here, uh, because I've been
- 5:33Speaker 2: watching the numbers. So if you're here because of one
- 5:36Speaker 2: of the guest spots I did this summer, um, specifically
- 5:41Speaker 2: the fixing famous people episode about Matthew Morrison and the
- 5:47Speaker 2: heck of a way I ran my mouth at the
- 5:51Speaker 2: Thank you so much for being here. Enjoy exploring our
- 5:55Speaker 2: catalog of all of the ways that we try to
- 5:57Speaker 2: dismantle patriarchy and misogyny through truth-telling, storytelling, being very radically
- 6:05Speaker 2: honest about our experiences while also trying to have some
- 6:09Speaker 2: laughs along the way. And if you're wondering about what's
- 6:14Speaker 2: going on on the Patreon, again, food poisoning and some...
- 6:22Speaker 2: some big-ass tornado really threw a wrench in our bonus content,
- 6:28Speaker 2: but Patreon will be back up and running. I have
- 6:31Speaker 2: some humor pieces that I've been writing over the summer
- 6:36Speaker 2: that just need a touch little zhuzhing up, and we'll
- 6:41Speaker 2: be posting them on our blog post. I have planned
- 6:46Speaker 2: an audio bonus episode about going further into... you know,
- 6:51Speaker 2: the fun and the perils I had this summer and
- 6:55Speaker 2: especially at Gen Con and some of the things that
- 6:57Speaker 2: the friendship bracelets have manifested for me at Gen Con.
- 7:02Speaker 2: And then, uh, also we will go back into doing
- 7:06Speaker 2: our monthly misogyny roundup where I actually start paying attention
- 7:11Speaker 2: to current events and get my head right out of
- 7:14Speaker 2: my glee rewatch. But I don't know, should, should, Should
- 7:19Speaker 2: we bring Glee into the modern age and talk about
- 7:22Speaker 2: it now that I've rewatched it? You tell me. You
- 7:24Speaker 2: tell me where you... If the Matthew Morrison Fixing Famous
- 7:28Speaker 2: People episode is enough, it's enough. But also, if we
- 7:31Speaker 2: need to talk about Glee, you tell me when. You
- 7:33Speaker 2: tell me who's going to be the guest. But we
- 7:36Speaker 2: will be diving back into current events, current medias, and
- 7:40Speaker 2: current life experiences. In our misogyny roundup starting right up
- 7:45Speaker 2: again in September. I appreciate everyone so much. As you know,
- 7:50Speaker 2: as a Capricorn, as an eldest daughter, as a former
- 7:53Speaker 2: high ability child, it is really hard for me to rest.
- 7:57Speaker 2: It is really hard for me to allow myself to rest,
- 8:00Speaker 2: to allow myself moments of silence, to accept when schedules
- 8:05Speaker 2: and disasters and emergencies and my health make it harder
- 8:10Speaker 2: for me to stick to a schedule when it comes
- 8:13Speaker 2: to content creating and things like that. So the fact
- 8:16Speaker 2: that you're all coming back and are willing and waiting
- 8:21Speaker 2: for everything that we have coming in September and beyond
- 8:25Speaker 2: means the world to me. So remember, tolerators, you don't
- 8:28Speaker 2: have to smile through anything you're tolerating, including one hell
- 8:32Speaker 2: of a content schedule that you had for an entire
- 8:35Speaker 2: summer that got Really throw it out the window as
- 8:38Speaker 2: soon as you ate a bad burger at one of
- 8:41Speaker 2: your favorite fast food restaurants. Smiles are for joy.
