- 0:11Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Mindsets
- 0:15Podcast. It is 2026.
- 0:18Happy New Year, everybody. I hope you enjoyed the Happy New
- 0:21Year, the Happy Christmas episode, but we're back for
- 0:24another year, a bigger year. It's going to be a bit of a run
- 0:29through episode. Charles is still here.
- 0:31Actually, that's that's the first point.
- 0:32Charles is still here. You made it to 2026.
- 0:34Yeah, I'm very happy to be here. Welcome back Thoughts going into
- 0:382026 for the podcast. I mean, there's, there's too
- 0:41much to talk about. I I don't have enough time.
- 0:44OK, cool. We don't have enough time.
- 0:45That's one of the main things actually.
- 0:46We'll run through some of the changes that are coming.
- 0:48One of them is going to be far more concise and going to be
- 0:50quicker. So talking of quicker news,
- 0:53right, Conciseness. Yeah, 2 minute news hit me.
- 0:57Hang on, are we always going to do a 2 minute news?
- 1:00OK, so the two-minute news now is 2 minute news. 2 minute news?
- 1:02I'm already in. You've wasted. 7 seconds of the
- 1:05news. Sporting News Australian Open is
- 1:07happening this starting this month.
- 1:10The African Cup of Nations is continuing being held in
- 1:14Morocco. I did some Googling earlier, 11
- 1:17host countries have won the African Cup of Nations, so it's
- 1:20looking good for Morocco who I think are the number one seed as
- 1:23well. What else is happening?
- 1:26Tyson Fury, he announced that he's unretiring.
- 1:31I don't know who he's going to fight but that's going to happen
- 1:33at some point this year. England were rubbish at cricket
- 1:37over the new Year. Again and again.
- 1:39Yeah, yeah, yeah. Went 33 nil down in the ashes
- 1:44and that's all I can remember off the top of my head.
- 1:46The only additional spice I can give to the Australian Open is
- 1:49Novak Djokovic is going for his 10th win of that tournament.
- 1:52However, he normally does the warm up tournament for it to get
- 1:56used to the surface and he's decided he not to do it this
- 1:59this year because he doesn't feel like he's fit enough to get
- 2:01through that tournament, which is concerning.
- 2:04He's probably just sandbagging and he'll come out and win it
- 2:06again. I think that was under 2 minute.
- 2:09It had to. Be had to be had to be.
- 2:11So that's actually the second change that they're going to
- 2:13notice because you don't know about the first change that
- 2:15everyone will notice. The first change is there was a
- 2:18different intro song. So if you hated it or loved it,
- 2:22let us know in the comments or write in because we can always
- 2:25revert back. But we've got a new intro song
- 2:27and some of the, the branding, everything like that might also
- 2:31look slightly different. We are taking the steps to
- 2:34becoming your favorite podcast and your friend's favorite
- 2:36podcast, especially if they don't know about it.
- 2:38And we want we want people to know about it more.
- 2:41So we're going to make it look better and we're going to be
- 2:43better. So the next thing that we're
- 2:46moving into is a slight reorder everyone's favorite bit.
- 2:50We're going to start. We're going to start it this
- 2:52year straight in Cry My gears. Do you want to go first?
- 2:57I don't know if I can kick off 2026, the first crime I gears,
- 3:00but I'm going to give it a go. Obviously I'm going to start
- 3:04with wristwatch heart rate data. This is this is, this is what
- 3:09the people. Want to hear Only because I saw
- 3:13it recently. Now I'm a big advocate for using
- 3:17data in training and I don't want to take away from that.
- 3:20It's the way that people portray it and use it, and we know that
- 3:24wrist data is probably less accurate than using a chest
- 3:28strap. I saw someone posting about how
- 3:31they had like the dog in them because the head worked out for
- 3:35like they were running. They're done.
- 3:36I think it was like 2 1/2 hour run and their heart rate was
- 3:40like +188 or something for 2 1/2 hours off wristwatch data and
- 3:45they were just going in on how they were like mentally stronger
- 3:48than everyone else because they had the ability to hold their
- 3:50heart rate a high. I'm just like, it's not accurate
- 3:53man. Just like whatever.
- 3:56It got to me and it was grinding my gears.
- 3:57So that's where I was starting. Just to to clarify why watches
- 4:03aren't scientifically further away from the heart and also
- 4:06depending on the movement you're doing, dissociated from being
- 4:10able to check a pulse. If you want to argue with me
- 4:13then tell me why if you were to do a movement like a ski Ugg why
- 4:17your number of steps goes up. Yeah, exactly.
- 4:19Because it doesn't know what's going on.
- 4:21There we go. It could be that.
- 4:23The only other thing I would say is like if you are using, let's
- 4:26rein it back in, be positive because it's a new year.
- 4:28If you are using your wrist heart rate data, yes, it's not
- 4:33as accurate. I mean, you're going to get
- 4:34something from it. It's not as accurate.
- 4:36But if it's the only metric you're using, because it's
- 4:39always inconsistent, it therefore becomes consistent.
- 4:43Inconsistent or not, it's consistent, so you can still use
- 4:46it as a tool. That's all good training, if
- 4:47that makes sense. Just don't brag about the data.
- 4:49The fact that you're you're the dog.
- 4:50Yeah, yeah, yeah. OK, cool.
- 4:54The the first one that we've got as a guest written in and this
- 4:58is actually pretty applicable, I would say Christmas music after
- 5:02Christmas. No, this has spilled over really
- 5:05from last episode, but it has come at the right time because
- 5:07there has been some Christmas music in the last week.
- 5:10And do you know what I feel a lot of people felt the same way
- 5:14that Christmas didn't really hit the same this year.
- 5:17Interesting. I feel like I needed to get all
- 5:20excited beforehand and I didn't get that Christmassy feeling.
- 5:22And then Christmas happened and then it was Boxing Day and I was
- 5:24like, oh, kind of feeling Christmassy, but it's too late.
- 5:26And now I have to wait another year.
- 5:28Now I have to wait another year and so I actually had a bit of a
- 5:30craving for Christmas music, but I still would not refused.
- 5:34Absolutely not. Do you want to know why you
- 5:36didn't feel that festive in Christmassy?
- 5:39I'd love to. Yeah, because you're old now.
- 5:41Oh. Christmas.
- 5:43He's rolling into another gram of years ago Christmas.
- 5:45Isn't fun, but Christmas isn't fun unless you're like a kid and
- 5:48and like, you know, Santa's come in and you get loads of presents
- 5:51wrapped up. It's just, it does.
- 5:52It's not the same, is it? It's that's pretty sad.
- 5:55Well, so apparently we're old, and that's been annoying Charles
- 5:57a little bit more recently. I don't.
- 5:59Let's not go into. That we know why this year is a
- 6:01big year for you, isn't it? Stop.
- 6:03So, but also off, off the back of that.
- 6:07No, I can't now. I can't now.
- 6:10I don't need more people knowing that I'm going to turn 30 this
- 6:13year. We'll get it out in the open,
- 6:14get it out. He's turning 30 this year.
- 6:15It's going to be a huge episode. Yeah, we'll do like a birthday
- 6:20episode on my birthday and it'll just be like my grind my gears.
- 6:23We'll just be. Paying on how old you are.
- 6:25But do you think there's like a cut off where it's no longer
- 6:28appropriate to say happy New Year?
- 6:31Yeah, and you know what has been pissing me off is it We're well
- 6:34beyond the cut off and I've had to say it multiple times.
- 6:37Today, I think today is what I would suggest we're currently
- 6:41filming on the OR recording on the 5th.
- 6:43What's the date? The 7th.
- 6:46OK, we're way past the cut off. You just.
- 6:48Triggered another grind like yeah when people don't know what
- 6:50day it. Is we're way off the cut off?
- 6:52Why did I think it was the fifth?
- 6:53Yeah, yeah, I think. Beyond the third.
- 6:55But I think because most people went back to work on the 5th if
- 6:59you weren't in the office until perhaps today, because it's lots
- 7:03of people don't go in until midweek on Wednesday.
- 7:05That's why in my head I was like maybe it's the 5th.
- 7:07But the cut off I reckon is today.
- 7:10And anyone who says that after today will go on my grandma
- 7:12gears list. OK, that, that's.
- 7:15Fair. You already said it today, so.
- 7:16We've discussed, I don't know if it's come up on the podcast
- 7:19before I'm this can be a grind. My gear.
- 7:21I hate it when people do small talk on things like teams or
- 7:25messaging things at work, but it's like, hey, how was your
- 7:29weekend? Or did you have a nice festive
- 7:31break? Happy New year.
- 7:32I'm not replying until you tell me what you want.
- 7:35I'm the same. Just tell me what you want.
- 7:36So earlier today, in fact, I messaged someone, hey, do you
- 7:41mind sending me this over? They responded, happy New Year
- 7:46and waited for me to say something bad.
- 7:48And then they're like, yeah, I'll send it over in a bit that.
- 7:51Sometimes, sometimes I'm petty. If someone is constantly like
- 7:55badgering me and they're going, I need this, I want that, give
- 7:58me this, do this, do a little bit.
- 7:59I will give it to them. But in my message, I'll make the
- 8:03effort to go. Hi, how are you?
- 8:06It's lovely to hear from you etcetera, etcetera.
- 8:08And then send them what? So I make them feel bad about
- 8:10themselves. See, I get that back and I'm
- 8:12like and then I carry on doing what I'm doing.
- 8:15This is what? So we're just reading out our
- 8:18message basically. OK, another grind.
- 8:21My gear that we have had sent in was terrible PTS in the new year
- 8:27and we've had many discussions about terrible PTS.
- 8:30I think there is a bit of an issue with the fact that there
- 8:33are people who are coaching with a qualification aren't very good
- 8:37and there are people that aren't qualified that coach and also
- 8:41aren't very good. And then you've got the opposite
- 8:44of both. But particularly in the new
- 8:46year, a lot of people enter a new phase in the gym or their
- 8:49fitness will take on a new sport and look for coaching.
- 8:51And there are some people that absolutely mug them off in gyms.
- 8:56Perfect example. I was in a relatively I would, I
- 9:01don't know how to say it. It's not a cheap gym Nuffield.
- 9:04It's kind of like that between a public to expensive gym setup.
- 9:09I recently, very recently saw a personal trainer asking someone
- 9:14to use one of the weighted foam barrels.
- 9:17I don't know if you know what I'm talking about.
- 9:19It's like a, it's like a tube that actually has a bit of
- 9:20weight to it and they've got like handles in the side of
- 9:24them. Kind of looks like the things
- 9:27that the the strong men like roll up and then push over their
- 9:30hair, big locks. But it's a, It's just.
- 9:31A foam almost almost squishy with like colour on the ends.
- 9:34Yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about, so.
- 9:36It was one of those and the movement was to pick it up, to
- 9:40pick it up, and then to use the ends of it.
- 9:44Like that was the punching on a punch bag.
- 9:47Oh, perfect. But in a lunge position.
- 9:49Perfect. Now, we've discussed before
- 9:52there are very specific movements for athletes to be
- 9:56doing. Yeah, this personal trainer had
- 9:59a repeated session. I was there for two hours like
- 10:03we did across a crossover. Of two for everyone who came in,
- 10:06it was the. Same thing.
- 10:06It was the same thing. Yeah, unless maybe his niche is
- 10:09is a certain sport maybe they're training for like kayak or
- 10:12something. I've gotten like serious stand
- 10:16up had awarding. Well, that you, yeah.
- 10:18Maybe. You don't want to, you don't
- 10:19want to assume. No, I don't.
- 10:20I don't want to go down the rabbit hole of bad PTS because
- 10:23it is like such a can of worms. And it's something that like
- 10:25really riles me up and I've spent the almost last 10 years
- 10:30having that as like a grind my gear day in, day out.
- 10:33So it's a frustrating one. I've got a a a worse one than
- 10:36that. Oh, perfect.
- 10:37And this is personal, this is one that I'm bringing to the
- 10:39show, but other people have also written in.
- 10:41So we're all just like grouping together as friends this year.
- 10:44There's nothing worse than someone on social media
- 10:50prescribing information. And we're coming into the year,
- 10:54Coming into the year with every man, woman and their dog quite
- 10:59literally on social media is telling you how to live your
- 11:01life this year. And I think she's probably
- 11:06lovely. She's great in person.
- 11:07But I'm actually going to call out an influencer called Holly
- 11:09and I'm going to give her the full tag.
- 11:11But Holly took to Instagram today to mention that 75 Hard
- 11:18should be cancelled. 75 Hard is a challenge that I have done,
- 11:22quite a few other people have done.
- 11:23You're welcome to go and look into it.
- 11:24There is a series of challenges that you have to do as part of
- 11:27your daily routine. 95% of people that take on 75 Hard fail
- 11:32and that was one of her big points.
- 11:33Why would you start your year off negatively by taking on a
- 11:35challenge that 95% of people fail?
- 11:39The point of it is that it's hard and if you don't want to do
- 11:43something hard, you don't do it. Whether that's you don't start
- 11:46in the 1st place or you don't finish it, it's supposed to be
- 11:49hard. You're supposed to prove
- 11:50something to yourself and you're supposed to get your life
- 11:51together a little bit. If that sounds up your street,
- 11:53do 75 hard. If it doesn't, go and do 45 days
- 11:56forward, which was the alternative that she had and I
- 11:59would argue as well that 40. 5:45 Or was it 40?
- 12:02Five, yeah, cool. 45 days forward.
- 12:04And I would argue that the the four things you had to do on a
- 12:07daily basis, if you're not already doing those, you might
- 12:11want to think about. Then it might be perfect for
- 12:14you, yeah. Yeah, but it was just like,
- 12:17don't try and cancel something that is supposed to be hard.
- 12:22It's actually quite. Is is actually in the name?
- 12:24I mean, you can apply that to so many things.
- 12:26It's like, why would you do that?
- 12:27It's too hard. Like name any sort of challenge
- 12:30you want to set yourself. But I think the social media
- 12:33thing, I was like, let's not talk about bad PTS and then I'm
- 12:35coming back to it. But the social media thing and
- 12:38your presence online and your ability to create a following,
- 12:42it's like what's really made the fitness industry suffer in terms
- 12:47of like professionality across personal trainers and coaches is
- 12:51because if you have a following, you have the ability to
- 12:54therefore sell something. And because you have a
- 12:57following, it almost gives you like, false credibility whether
- 13:00you have a certification or not. So it's just that it's a tricky
- 13:03place to balance. Like some personal trainers
- 13:05online are fantastic and have a big following, but typically
- 13:08speaking, there's a lot of people with a big following who
- 13:11have absolutely no idea what they're doing and managing to
- 13:13sell trashy programming and trashy programs to people who
- 13:17are willing to listen to them. It actually does line up quite a
- 13:23lot with businesses, podcasts, coaches, but there are a lot of
- 13:28people that get a following off a viral incident, which
- 13:31honestly, I don't know how he's getting bored into this.
- 13:34Do you know do you know who Ollie Ball is?
- 13:36No Ollie Ball went viral a few years ago on TikTok when him and
- 13:39his friend at school would rate food.
- 13:41Yeah. Just that was it.
- 13:43They're in their school clothes. I don't think he's gone to
- 13:45university because of that virality of rating food.
- 13:48He's now got enough of a following that he lives off it,
- 13:51has YouTube everything, and just sort of lives his life.
- 13:54And that's the content. As far as I'm aware.
- 13:56I'm not a follower. He just came up recently and
- 13:58that's what made me think of it. But it's those sorts of people
- 14:01that get a following, know they have to make a career out of it
- 14:03and maybe go, well, I'm pretty fit.
- 14:06Maybe I'll put some coaching advice out there.
- 14:08Oh, people seem to be really interested in my life.
- 14:10Maybe I'll start a podcast. Yeah, it's great.
- 14:14And I'm, I'm happy that they do it because they're, they're
- 14:16trying to find their, their love, their the thing that's
- 14:19going to be their career. It does make it hard for people
- 14:21like us where I do. I do believe our podcast has a
- 14:24lot of interesting bits to it, but we also do put some genuine
- 14:28advice and good coaching material out there and we might
- 14:32go a bit awash. This sounds like a.
- 14:34More often than not, yeah. And, and this sound, this sounds
- 14:37like a, a really sad crying, like jealous.
- 14:41But it, it is a natural thing. And unfortunately for people
- 14:44that work in the fitness industry that have got years of
- 14:47experience and loads of qualifications like yourself, to
- 14:50then be drowned out by someone who doesn't really have a proper
- 14:53job but can sit and make 10 trial reels a day.
- 14:56One of them goes viral and therefore they get 3-4 clients
- 14:59out of it. Yeah.
- 15:00That's annoying, yeah. It's a a tough thing that you
- 15:03just have to navigate and not get too bogged down in.
- 15:06So if you agree with us then subscribe, follow hit up at
- 15:09Mindsets podcast. Charles and I would love to be
- 15:12known for good podcasting and good coaching rather than
- 15:14anything else. OK, grind my gears.
- 15:18Yep. We're back to it.
- 15:19I think, I think, well, I'm done, you're done.
- 15:22I think in terms of people writing in, we have had a few
- 15:25more. I've needed to clarify some of
- 15:26them, but I'll bring them back the next week.
- 15:28Yeah. Which I'll use as a segue into
- 15:31the topic. Let's go.
- 15:33So today's topic is to catch you guys up on what's changing this
- 15:36year for the podcast, because we want, as I said it, to be
- 15:39bigger, better. And the most obvious way of
- 15:42doing that is answering people's biggest request from last year,
- 15:47which was why don't you do more of them?
- 15:51OK. I didn't think that was going to
- 15:53be the biggest request. It actually was the biggest
- 15:54request. Second biggest request was stop
- 15:56doing them. So answering that biggest
- 16:02regret, we are going to go weekly.
- 16:04So we are going to have weekly recordings, weekly episodes,
- 16:07bring more of the topics and the grime ideas and all of the
- 16:11above. All of your favorite elements
- 16:12we're aiming to keep in. So what does that look like?
- 16:16Well, that means a slight restructuring of the podcast.
- 16:18You're going to have less long waffly ones.
- 16:20We're going to be more planned, more strategic with what we talk
- 16:22about, which means focusing on things that are coming up in
- 16:26this year. It's actually a massive year for
- 16:28sport. We stand.
- 16:29Down together and started writing everything down and the
- 16:31list didn't stop. I think next year it could be
- 16:35quite the like depressive Dick in sport, but so.
- 16:41You've got that to look for, too.
- 16:43Get involved this year and fall in love with us before next year
- 16:46goes bad for sport. But yeah, so one of the things
- 16:49that we're going to be changing up, like I said before, is the
- 16:51order. So we'll start with news.
- 16:53We'll then go with Grind My Gears.
- 16:54We'll have one topic a week. So if you want your topic to be
- 16:58spoken about, it's really important you let us know
- 17:00something that you'd love to know more about, something that
- 17:01you think would be funny or interesting for us to discuss.
- 17:04Definitely let us know. That helps us out and we
- 17:07understand more what you guys want to listen two and then
- 17:11we'll of course be finishing it off with the game.
- 17:15So that's pretty much the sort of outline from your side, other
- 17:20things that are changing as well.
- 17:21Well, I think like the, the big thing off the back of that is we
- 17:24want even more interaction with you guys.
- 17:27Yeah. And that's like a a big thing
- 17:28that we're going to start to push, whether that's through
- 17:30social media or you just get in contact however you want to.
- 17:33The best way for you to get in contact with us, if there are
- 17:35topics that you genuinely think we can add value to and help you
- 17:39with, whether that's fitness or coaching or just whatever, let
- 17:44us know because that can help shape the episodes that we do.
- 17:47And then, like Angus said, we'll be a bit more strategic around
- 17:50how we talk about them and we'll plan and structure a little bit
- 17:52better so it is more concise and hopefully easier to listen to
- 17:56and actually get through an episode.
- 17:58Likewise, if we, if we, we're going to be doing more pushes
- 18:01for you guys to get involved with growing my gears rather
- 18:03than just give me 24 hours notice before we record an
- 18:06episode. But also some of the topics as
- 18:08well, giving you more of a chance to engage with that.
- 18:10We always say that the the door is open so you can always
- 18:13message in DM and we'll see it. But I think one of the other
- 18:17things that we want to do is through some of the social posts
- 18:20that we have out there. If there's things that you want
- 18:22to see more of on social media because they pop up and they
- 18:24remind you to watch or listen or whatever, let us know what those
- 18:28are because we obviously want to be making more of those for you.
- 18:30And that's going to be another big push for us this year is not
- 18:34just to manage to post once a week in terms of a podcast, but
- 18:37to be able to put more of the stuff that you guys enjoy
- 18:40watching on your feed, which is currently washed out by PTS
- 18:43posting 100 trial rows a day with crap content.
- 18:48So attached to some of those changes, we've got some goals in
- 18:52place. Yeah, we.
- 18:53Do do you want to go through? Should we do one goal at a time?
- 18:56Yeah, I think I like the idea of having a bit more transparency
- 18:59around what we're trying to achieve through the Mindset
- 19:01podcast. And to be honest with you, like
- 19:04when we did sit down and kind of discussed what 2026 looked like
- 19:08for the podcast, a lot of it was just to keep creating the things
- 19:13that we enjoy because those were the things that kind of
- 19:17resonated the most with you guys.
- 19:19Things like Grind My Gears and the game and continue to build
- 19:22off that. But for me, I love consuming
- 19:26podcasts and information through watching YouTube.
- 19:29And a lot of that comes actually through YouTube Shorts.
- 19:32And this is something that we discussed at length.
- 19:34And when you're scrolling through YouTube Shorts, a clip
- 19:36from a podcast will pop up and that's how I'll go, oh, that
- 19:40actually seems really interesting.
- 19:41Or I like this person. I'd like to know more about them
- 19:43and what they're doing with their life.
- 19:45Whether it's sport or not doesn't really matter, but I
- 19:48think I'd like to kind of push more people towards actually
- 19:51getting involved and watching it through YouTube.
- 19:54So a big goal for me was build more following on YouTube.
- 20:01So am I going to put a number on it?
- 20:03Yeah, yeah. I mean, you've got 100.
- 20:04Million. 100 million lives per episode, yeah.
- 20:09No, I I put the the gold hours to get 500 subscribers on
- 20:13YouTube by the end. Of this year now we already have
- 20:15a head start. We are.
- 20:16I believe we're just shy of 200. So we're not asking too many of
- 20:21you listening to just hop over to YouTube, watch one and and
- 20:24then just hit subscribe If you don't watch the rest, that would
- 20:27be hurtful, but you don't have to tell us.
- 20:30But on top of what you were saying about improving things in
- 20:33in that sense, I think the other thing that we've spoken about,
- 20:35which has also been good feedback we've had from previous
- 20:37episodes is bringing some of the science to the table.
- 20:40I think a lot of you guys, you hear advice and as we've said so
- 20:45many times already this episode, there's so much advice out
- 20:47there, it's tough to know which one is 1 to follow.
- 20:50Quite a lot of time. You can't argue with science and
- 20:52if as long as we're talking about good things that are
- 20:54backed up and we're not talking about a rogue paper that came
- 20:56out of the back of Azerbaijan, no offence to them.
- 20:59But if they're talking about High Rock stuff, we want to be
- 21:01giving it to you straight with real understanding.
- 21:04And we've got good sources of knowledge and we we know how to
- 21:07find good information for you. So we are more than willing.
- 21:12As we've said, if you have something you'd love to know
- 21:13more about, guarantee you we'd love to know more about it as
- 21:16well. So we're happy to go and do the
- 21:17homework and bring it back to you wherever you choose to
- 21:21listen. I'm going to jump in then with
- 21:24one of my goals. That's good.
- 21:26And just to clarify, these are these are not New Year's
- 21:28resolutions. We spoke about those last year.
- 21:31We have extremely mixed feelings about New Year's resolutions.
- 21:34My goal for the year is that we have 500 downloads in one week
- 21:39of the podcast, which we have been close to before, but I want
- 21:42it to be something that I see this year, but also hopefully
- 21:47more than once. Yeah, get a bit of consistency
- 21:49behind it and get some. Exactly.
- 21:52Repeat listeners, yeah. So that's that's probably going
- 21:54to be mainly across Apple and Spotify, which is where most of
- 21:57you guys are probably listening now.
- 21:59But that is away from the YouTube.
- 22:02So that's the challenge. We want to grow that, but we
- 22:04also still need to keep the base and grow on those other
- 22:07platforms as well. So wherever you consume, keep
- 22:10going. The next thing.
- 22:12I think we've actually both got written down.
- 22:15I know we've got go on, let's talk about it.
- 22:17I think to really start to push and develop and grow, we
- 22:23probably need to look at getting some sort of sponsorship behind
- 22:27the podcast. So in whatever capacity that
- 22:31looks like, we've had a little bit of an open discussion around
- 22:34what it looks like and what it means to the podcast, whether
- 22:37it's actual funding or it's what I mean, there's lots of
- 22:42different ways that sponsorship can come to help support the
- 22:45podcast. And I mean, it's like in full
- 22:48transparency, if you know people who would be willing to help or
- 22:51if you want to help or you want to get involved in some way,
- 22:55this is your call to action. And then you can come and help
- 22:58out. Two podcasters over here who
- 23:00just want to be able to create more of a platform to help more
- 23:04people. Listen to what we're talking
- 23:05about. I think, yeah, we're 73 episodes
- 23:09in at this point. I think it's fair to say that
- 23:12we're probably not going anywhere.
- 23:14We're quite well invested in at this point.
- 23:16I. Thought I was going somewhere
- 23:17else. No, no.
- 23:18So we're so to three episodes in and.
- 23:20We've got nothing to show. Well, I mean basically what I'm
- 23:24saying. Is.
- 23:24No, that's not true at all. Yeah, we're we're we're not
- 23:27something that is starting off. We're three episodes in and
- 23:31going, you know, hey, where's the help?
- 23:32But it's also as we've said about the information that we
- 23:35share, I think one of the biggest things we spoke about
- 23:37away from the microphones as well was we wouldn't want to
- 23:40share something that we don't see giving you guys benefit in
- 23:44some way. So there have been some messages
- 23:47of things that we can get involved in, some really rogue
- 23:49things and they've been dismissed because I don't think
- 23:51they bring value to you guys listening or watching and they
- 23:55don't honestly bring that much value to us then if it's not
- 23:57bringing value to you. So what we are talking about,
- 24:01and I think I feel like I'm about to say we're being
- 24:03vulnerable. We are being somewhat vulnerable
- 24:05in that we, we do want to have help in being able to bring this
- 24:09platform to more people, but we also want help in bringing the
- 24:11right things to you guys. So if you have, again, like
- 24:15Charles said, people that you know, that maybe have something
- 24:18interesting that could be beneficial to you guys as
- 24:20listeners or the podcast that deserves a bit more awareness of
- 24:24itself, then absolutely we'd love to hear more about it.
- 24:27We'd love to talk to those people and those companies,
- 24:29those brands, because I think as we're sort of outlining here,
- 24:33there's way more strategy in 2026 for us to grow, but for
- 24:36whoever's on board to grow with that, which is huge.
- 24:42I'm going to ask you for your next goal because you've got
- 24:47similar. Yeah, I, I'm, I'm almost
- 24:50hesitant because it's like, I, I don't mind being transparent and
- 24:54talking about what our plans are with the podcast.
- 24:57And it's nice to be able to share that a little bit.
- 24:59I think as we go into 2026, it also gives us a bit of
- 25:02accountability to make things happen.
- 25:05But a lot of what we're talking about is like numbers.
- 25:08And it's like, I want this and this and this, and it's, it's
- 25:11really is just a number, but they aren't numbers to kind of
- 25:16reflect the work that we're doing is the right thing and
- 25:19it's helping reach more people because that's inevitably what
- 25:23we want. And, and I want the interactions
- 25:25we have with the people listening or the people watching
- 25:28on YouTube to like be really genuine.
- 25:30And we can start to create like genuine relationships with the
- 25:33listeners and the people who want to get involved with the
- 25:36podcast. So within saying that this is
- 25:38another number, but I want to see 10,000 downloads across this
- 25:44year. So the download is basically a
- 25:48listen. I'm going to add an asterisk to
- 25:49that as well, OK, Because when you do podcasting, you
- 25:52accumulative downloads. So like there's 72 episodes out
- 25:55there that people could be listening to and discovering.
- 25:57I'm going to discount all the episodes that come previously.
- 26:00So only only on the episodes that we released this year, I
- 26:04think they go for 10,000, which I actually based on looking at
- 26:06the numbers, I don't think it's unreasonable, especially if
- 26:08we're doubling number of podcasts we do.
- 26:10I mean, that should be I'm, I'm, I'm don't want to say another
- 26:13goal that I didn't write down, but I almost want to double
- 26:15that. I don't want to double it and
- 26:17pass it to the next person. Don't let it keep it.
- 26:19While being conservative, I didn't want to like.
- 26:22Set out to be too unrealistic. A big one for you guys.
- 26:28I think last year there was a big change.
- 26:29Obviously we brought Charles on. I've really enjoyed the
- 26:31episodes. I imagine that the listenership
- 26:34has maybe adjusted slightly. We brought in new faces.
- 26:36We might have lost some that were interested in just having a
- 26:39new guest on every time. Oh, fine.
- 26:41However. I lost because I was hit a.
- 26:43No, not entirely. We did 4 guest episodes last
- 26:46year but none of them had you involved which was like a bit of
- 26:51a a sad. And and no, apart from Ross.
- 26:53Strange moment. Yeah, Roscoe, actually, yeah.
- 26:56But we want to do more of those because that episode actually
- 26:58went down really, really well with listeners.
- 26:59And I still hear that people tuned in for that episode
- 27:03because they had someone coming from a different background of
- 27:05sport, which I think is really nice and really refreshing.
- 27:07So we are going to be bringing the guest episodes back.
- 27:10Not all the time. I originally wanted to say like
- 27:14every other episode, but it's so hard to keep on top of that and
- 27:17I don't want to start something and not finish it.
- 27:19So my aim this year is that we have 10 guests episodes and I
- 27:22would like you ideally there for all of them so that then if it's
- 27:26you that's running the game, I have a chance of winning and if
- 27:29it's me that's running the game, you have a chance of winning
- 27:31rather than always somehow losing our own games.
- 27:36Which is a yeah, a common. Theme So actually, yeah, if you
- 27:39have someone that you think would be a great fit to come on
- 27:41and lose the games to us or just generally you'd love to know
- 27:45more about maybe the way they train, maybe the the the
- 27:48activities they've been doing in their life prior to what they do
- 27:51now, or maybe why they've stopped doing what they were
- 27:53known for doing. Let us know if, especially if
- 27:56you know them, we'll get them on.
- 27:58We've had a vast number of backgrounds and I love talking
- 28:02to people about sports that I don't fully understand or I've
- 28:04never played, so don't hold back on anybody.
- 28:07Hobby horsists as well. I don't horsists.
- 28:10Yeah, I don't know, hobby. Horse riders, yeah.
- 28:12One of the. Know enough about it?
- 28:14Come on. Yes.
- 28:14Talk about it. Yeah.
- 28:15That's how we learn together. Exactly.
- 28:18You've got one. More, one more.
- 28:20This one I think is really interesting, especially as we've
- 28:22already marked one potential episode.
- 28:26I would love to do a live episode or an event.
- 28:29We have already shown that we host some of the best events in
- 28:32the world when we do the rock SIM.
- 28:34But I think it would be really cool to do some sort of get
- 28:37together for those that do listen community event, whether
- 28:40that ends up being some sort of sport.
- 28:41And then we do a live episode where you guys are directly
- 28:44involved. So if you've got grind my gear,
- 28:46you quite simply say the grind my gear and get cancelled for
- 28:49us. That I I do think that's
- 28:51something that I really want to do this year because I think
- 28:53there's a lot of people that have been listening for a long
- 28:55time. And as much as you get the
- 28:56occasional opportunity to say, Oh yeah, this is my grandma
- 29:01gave, this is the topic that I want you to talk about, I'd love
- 29:03for you to actually be able to be there in person and, and talk
- 29:09on the podcast or talk to us while we're there.
- 29:11And again, it comes back to like creating genuine, authentic
- 29:15relationships with the people who are supporting the work that
- 29:18we're doing. Like we're not doing this for
- 29:21ourselves. We want to actually, like you
- 29:24say, come on and and give some evidence based, you know,
- 29:29discussion around sport, fitness training or whatever it happens
- 29:32to be that you guys want to listen to.
- 29:34But it's like, how can we actually take that a step
- 29:36further is coming out of the screen and being in person.
- 29:40And I think a live event could be a really cool way or even
- 29:42like a live podcast recording could be something fun and
- 29:45different. Hopefully that we can make that
- 29:48happen. Can we stop being vulnerable now
- 29:51please? It makes me feel so
- 29:52uncomfortable and then we're even here.
- 29:54Imagine if this was live and we were saying, OK, I want to talk
- 30:00about we mentioned that this year's a big year for sport.
- 30:052026 might be the best year for sport we have had in our lives.
- 30:09Because what we've got coming up is we've got the Women's Six
- 30:13Nations, we've got the Six Nations, we've got the Winter
- 30:15Olympics, we've got the T20 World Cup, we've got the Women's
- 30:18T20 World Cup, We have got the Solheim Cup, we've got the
- 30:22football World Cup, We've got the European Championships for
- 30:24athletics, we've got the Masters golf.
- 30:26We have that every year. But it's just worth mentioning
- 30:28because it's great to watch. We have the London Marathon
- 30:30again, it's just a great event. We've got London high rocks,
- 30:34we've got high rocks, sorry. We've got the world champs
- 30:37coming up, which we've got quite a few people we know going to as
- 30:41well already. We've got Wimbledons coming back
- 30:44bigger than ever this year. We've got quite a few of the
- 30:46some of the tennis players that are currently aiming to be back
- 30:51from injury at that point in the season, which is going to
- 30:53hopefully tee up a fantastic tournament.
- 30:55And then you've got the Commonwealth Games.
- 30:58I know and there's there's obviously everything else that
- 31:01also happens every year is going to be going on.
- 31:04It's a huge year for sport. There's a lot going on.
- 31:06There's a lot going on. Great time to be a sports
- 31:09podcast if you ask me now, unless you've got other things
- 31:14to bring up for this episode. I'm just trying to stall because
- 31:16I think you're going for the quiz next.
- 31:17I am 100% going for the quiz. So as an example of the fact
- 31:21that we are being concise, this is how well planned we are.
- 31:23This episode has been far shorter than our hour and a half
- 31:26ones where we end up going down a rabbit hole of rugby.
- 31:29So we're going to move straight on that.
- 31:31Oh, it's. For sure my fault.
- 31:34I don't know how much the listening was on that one.
- 31:36I'm not going to listen. To it, you know, do that again.
- 31:37This is, it's funny because one of the first episodes we
- 31:40recorded together when even we were trying our hardest to be
- 31:44really concise and like, stick to it.
- 31:46I, I then was promoting it to some of my friends, like, hey, I
- 31:50was on a podcast, you might want to listen.
- 31:51And I'm like, yeah, I'll give it a go.
- 31:53All of them came back to me and were like, it's quite long,
- 31:55isn't it? Yeah, I got to about 30 minutes
- 31:58and then yeah, yeah, I can't listen to you.
- 32:00But we're going to try and tell people that we should be doing
- 32:02this weekly. Yeah, yeah.
- 32:04We don't want to be like, have you got an hour and a half a
- 32:06week? It'll be like the podcast
- 32:08wrapped at the end of the year. It's like you wasted X amount of
- 32:12hours per week listening. You started 52 episodes and got
- 32:162 minutes? Yeah.
- 32:17Yeah, yeah, yeah. 2 minute news everyone.
- 32:20'S going to come here for people are going to come to us for the
- 32:22news. So right, that's what it should
- 32:24be. Now we've got the big fat quiz
- 32:28of the upcoming year. We can't get sued for that
- 32:30because we put an extra word in now.
- 32:32See what you've done there? Yeah, that was smart.
- 32:35So we've got 10 questions. If you're listening, watching,
- 32:41pay attention. I would be interested to know
- 32:44how many of these you guys get right, and we say it all the
- 32:47time, put it in the comments. I would like to be able to say
- 32:50that last week so and so won. I'll call you out for the win.
- 32:54So if you think you've done well, I don't know how you're
- 32:56going to prove it, but I'm just going to have to trust you.
- 32:59And that's what our. Community.
- 33:01Yeah, that's exactly that. I'm pretty sure we have a gear
- 33:04of not trusting people, but we'll go.
- 33:05We'll ignore that. My track record for the quizzes
- 33:08has not been great last year. Maybe for next time I'll do some
- 33:12data digging and figure out how badly I did.
- 33:15I'd I think you could save yourself a lot of time and just
- 33:17know that it it's not worth it. But it's a new year, a new year,
- 33:21new year. So I feel the pressure even more
- 33:23now. And between you guys and me,
- 33:26just for this openness and trust, Charles asked me if he
- 33:29could know the answers to the questions before we started and
- 33:31he would deliberately get a few wrong.
- 33:32And I said absolutely not. This broadcast has built on
- 33:35integrity. Yeah, I got a slap on the wrist
- 33:39and then he told me there's like X amount of questions that if I
- 33:41get wrong is truly embarrassing. You will never show my Yeah,
- 33:44show my face here again. Question number one, I don't
- 33:47want to do it. The Rugby 6 Nations starts on
- 33:50the 5th of February this year. Yeah, by world ranking, what
- 33:54should the table look like by the end of the tournament?
- 33:59France win, OK, Ireland, no. France win.
- 34:03England come second, Ireland third.
- 34:10Scotland, Italy, Wales. Do you know what?
- 34:13It's a very good crack. It's a very good crack.
- 34:16I can confirm that you've got three of them in the right
- 34:19order. Oh, no.
- 34:21So you're Scotland, Italy, Wales were the bottom 3 in the correct
- 34:24order. Fourth of the sixth.
- 34:25Did I Did I rank England above Ireland?
- 34:27No. Yeah, you did.
- 34:29You said France, England. Ireland.
- 34:32It is England, Ireland, France, according to the world rankings
- 34:36that came out two days ago. Yeah, after the Autumn Nations,
- 34:40that's tough. I, I mean, I would, I'm, I'm
- 34:42backing England to win the Six Nations this year, 100% It's.
- 34:44Big year. It's a big year again.
- 34:46We'll have some fun around. It's wild that Wales are going
- 34:48to come bottom. Yeah, bad time.
- 34:51Anyway, don't go down when I was in the rabbit hole when I was.
- 34:52Looking at the rankings, just for you to know, Wales weren't
- 34:54even in the top ten. Yeah, I know in the world.
- 34:56The rest of them were all in there.
- 34:57There'll be. Question marks whether or not
- 34:58they should still be in it well. Annoyingly, we can't do Super
- 35:02Rugby focused episodes around the Six Nations because.
- 35:05Everyone hates rugby. Question #2 February 6th is the
- 35:09start of the Winter Olympics. Oh no.
- 35:12Which country is it being hosted in?
- 35:14Don't do this to me. That's so tough.
- 35:18You know, when I was asking if we could fabricate the results,
- 35:21I did a quick Google and the majority because I was like,
- 35:25tell me about all the sports that's happening in 2026 and
- 35:28like the main articles that were coming up were like Winter
- 35:31Olympic. And obviously my brain didn't
- 35:33process that. OK, the Winter Olympics.
- 35:37Is it somewhere that I I should definitely I've heard of.
- 35:41It's not like a, it's not like a machine.
- 35:43For country here, oh country. Yeah, OK.
- 35:48I'm going to say Canada. It's a great shower.
- 35:53It's, it's been used a lot recently.
- 35:56So it's not Canada, it's in Italy this year.
- 35:59I. Was I was never saying Italy, I
- 36:01was never saying Italy. Fair enough.
- 36:02It is actually a bit of a rogue one, but they do have some
- 36:04really good mountains. I'm.
- 36:05Sure, I've skied there's. A lot, I'm sure there's been.
- 36:08Not a flex. It's yeah, yeah.
- 36:10That was a white, most middle class white thing I've ever
- 36:12said. Wow, I'm sure there's been Italy
- 36:14Winter Olympics in our lifetime. I'm pretty sure there has.
- 36:17Yeah, I'm trying to think of, whereas whenever I think of the
- 36:21place that it, oh, it's Turin. Yeah, that's right, Turin.
- 36:23Yeah. When you're like you'll, if you
- 36:25don't, if you haven't heard of this country, it's going to be a
- 36:27bit hard, you know? What?
- 36:28I'm going to go for a second. It was Turin 2006.
- 36:31Unless I'm getting confused with Toronto.
- 36:33Anyway, I digress, if that's the correct use of that word.
- 36:37Question #3. Was this bookmarked as You've
- 36:41Got to get it? Yeah, you.
- 36:42If you don't know this, you might not be allowed back on the
- 36:45podcast based on what you do for a living.
- 36:48High rocks. No.
- 36:50What are the locations of the next three elite races?
- 36:55Elite races, yeah. So the majors, basically.
- 37:00Does world champs and Stockholm count?
- 37:02It does. OK so I've got the Stockholm on
- 37:04nice Stockholm. That's a that's a set settler.
- 37:09I was going to try and catch you out with trying to guess one for
- 37:11next season and hoping you were going to forget that there was
- 37:14an Elite 15 race at the world champs, which is Stockholm.
- 37:17So you've got that one. Oh God, this is not good for me.
- 37:22Or the conciseness of this episode.
- 37:24Well, I I can, I can. I don't know if this will help
- 37:26you. No, I can.
- 37:27No, absolutely not. There will be one in March and
- 37:32there will be 1. Oh, come on.
- 37:34In a matter of weeks, I. Don't want to miss speak.
- 37:42OK is that a is that a thing? Maybe is London.
- 37:45London is one of the majors this season.
- 37:48That's good. That's good for the program.
- 37:49That's solid. Oh, that'd be cool.
- 37:51We're going to be able to see it.
- 37:52That's awesome. That's up a Boo.
- 37:54Don't. You maybe we'll do the live on
- 37:55there that'll be. Huge.
- 37:57Right where they're finished, yeah.
- 37:59Well, the problem they'll have with it is that more people will
- 38:02be watching our podcast than delirious.
- 38:04Will break will break the YouTube stream.
- 38:06OK, that's good. That's two out of two.
- 38:10So one more in a matter of weeks.
- 38:13OK. That's helpful.
- 38:16Is it helpful? I know a few of the rate.
- 38:20It can't be another UK based race.
- 38:22It's not, it's the week after Manchester, so it's definitely
- 38:25not in the UK. Have they had an elite 5th or
- 38:29like a major there before? No Oh Poland is in April.
- 38:38It's Europe. It's not Europe.
- 38:41Oh, OK, that's then. I've got no idea.
- 38:45I'm going to say it's in America.
- 38:46It is in America. Is that why Jake Williams is
- 38:49Jake Williamson now in America now?
- 38:50He's just flown there, saw him fly there.
- 38:54OK, then I'm going to go. Somewhere like Dallas.
- 39:00So good shout. Unfortunately Dallas had a race
- 39:03it the end of November beginning of December, so it's time close
- 39:06but the correct answer is Arizona, Phoenix, AZ actually.
- 39:10Did know that as well, Phoenix. Arizona dumb wait staying I'll.
- 39:13Take two out of. Three, yeah, that was, that was
- 39:15pretty good apart from they were two shoo insurance as you would
- 39:19say. So we're going to go for, we're
- 39:21going to stay in America. OK, perfect.
- 39:24Super Bowl Sunday is February 8th.
- 39:26Bear in mind I've already spoken about three things within three
- 39:28days of each other. Crazy.
- 39:30Super Bowl is February 8th. I'm not going to ask you what
- 39:33teams are in it because that would be a trick question.
- 39:34We don't know. You don't know yet what number
- 39:37Super Bowl is it. Do you want the Roman numerals?
- 39:41You can give me the Roman numerals.
- 39:42Do you know what the Roman numerals mean?
- 39:44I've got. Because I saw the Roman numerals
- 39:46and I had to go and double check I was getting it right.
- 39:49I'm, it's not, it's not a massive number.
- 39:54I'm going to say like Super Bowl 7060.
- 40:01It's in the. Don't do that.
- 40:05I'm just raising my eyebrows because you're trying to use my
- 40:07face to figure out what the number is.
- 40:09I'll go with my gut and just be like 67. 67.
- 40:17I'm going Super Bowl 67. It's lower, isn't?
- 40:20It it is lower, it is. It's a relatively big one.
- 40:23It's Super Bowl LX, which is 60. Me, that's ballpark I'm taking.
- 40:28I'm taking that OK. Yeah, fine.
- 40:30This is. So this is.
- 40:31I'm disappointed in myself. For this podcast, but a little
- 40:33side thing. It's really funny that 6-7 has
- 40:36become such an interesting thing because I grew up in house
- 40:39number 6767. Yeah, it's huge.
- 40:41I've been cool since day one. That's the least cool thing I've
- 40:45ever said. That's so tough question #5 we
- 40:48are actually returning to the Winter Olympics for this
- 40:50question start true or false? My track record with the winter
- 40:54false 5050 here. OK, ski orienteering is going to
- 40:58a new sport in the 2026 Olympics.
- 41:00That seems like a niche thing for you to make up and it does
- 41:03seem something that's like pretty fun, like Backcountry,
- 41:06like find this and it is orienteering is a big sport.
- 41:12I've got a good, maybe not a podcast PC story about
- 41:16orienteering, but I've got a good story about.
- 41:18Orienteering. Very interesting.
- 41:20We'll put that on our Patreon. Yeah, I was going to say maybe.
- 41:22When we get Patreon, we can just talk about stuff like that.
- 41:26Gosh, maybe we could. Yeah, OK, we'll discuss.
- 41:30Off, off, off microphone. I'm going to say true.
- 41:34It is full perfect. It was a bit of an unfair
- 41:37question because Schemo is coming in.
- 41:41Schemo is actually the nickname they give ski mountaineering.
- 41:45Oh, cool. And just for those that are
- 41:47interested, I've seen this. Ski mountaineering is where you
- 41:49put, they're called skins. They're like grippy things that
- 41:52help you go up the mountain, but they're like normal skis.
- 41:55So you go up a mountain and you come down and then there might
- 41:57be numerous mountains you've got to go up in the area.
- 41:59It's a bit, it's a bit like an ultra race, like ultra running,
- 42:02but it's just but. It's also have you there's like
- 42:05there's special specific points where they have to take the skin
- 42:08off the ski. Have you seen how fast they take
- 42:10the skins off? They like jump?
- 42:12Yeah, yeah. And then it's and then it's also
- 42:14put the skis on the backpack. I think this is going to be the
- 42:17highlight of the Winter Olympics.
- 42:19I think it's going to be. I've seen.
- 42:20There's a few other events which are coming in which are new, but
- 42:22they're not new sport. Yeah, which is why this one's
- 42:25getting a bit of a highlight. It is interesting though, like
- 42:28what? What your background has to be
- 42:30to like? Get into that as a sport and we
- 42:32we've spoken before about like VO2 maxes and stuff across all
- 42:35sports. These guys are the most crazy
- 42:38VO2X because they like run up the mountains.
- 42:40I mean Nordic ski is a known phrase high, but like these are
- 42:44similar sort of training aspects.
- 42:46Awesome. Yeah, we look forward to watch
- 42:48Schemo. Schemo.
- 42:49There you go. Question number six In June, the
- 42:52women's ICCT 20 World Cup will be hosted.
- 42:56In which nation? I want to say here in England,
- 43:04are you locking that in? I don't know if I can go better.
- 43:10Yeah, I really should know this. This was another bookmark that I
- 43:12should have known. Is the women's EUR offer on a
- 43:17tangent? Isn't that this year?
- 43:20I believe that is this year as well.
- 43:22No, because we would have put it in our list.
- 43:23OK, maybe I made that up. Don't try and deflect.
- 43:27No, by quick last search, I saw that female spell.
- 43:29That was that was that was last year.
- 43:31Yeah, I don't. I'm going to say England.
- 43:35You're correct. I knew it.
- 43:37Well done. Knew it.
- 43:39Question. It was 7.
- 43:41Also in June this year we have the Men's Football World Cup.
- 43:46Which team isn't in England's group?
- 43:50So I'm going to give you 4 teams.
- 43:51You're going to have to tell me which one.
- 43:52Sorry. I'm going to give you 3 teams.
- 43:53You're going to tell me which one I.
- 43:54Left 2025 with a bad football performance on the quiz.
- 43:58Yeah. So I'm, I'm easing you in.
- 44:00I. Was like 2026 will be my
- 44:01football year. I'm easing you in.
- 44:03Right, I'm going to see terrible.
- 44:04Which team of these next 3 is not in our group Panama?
- 44:08OK, Ghana, Portugal. So one of those isn't.
- 44:16One of those is not in our group this year.
- 44:19I'm like, I'm I'm tending towards Panama because I don't
- 44:24know about their footballing prowess.
- 44:29So Nitro saying it. So I don't know if they've
- 44:33qualified, but that might just be really ignorant and they
- 44:36might be great at football and maybe hang on, that's actually a
- 44:41shout. Did Portugal not qualify and it
- 44:44was a big upset or something? Did I see that somewhere?
- 44:46They got beaten by like, I don't know, like Ireland or something.
- 44:52I'm I can't help you with the quiz that I've written and then.
- 44:56Ghana always perform well at African Cup nations, always a
- 45:00good football team, lots of good footballers.
- 45:05It it could be any of them, it could.
- 45:07It could quite usually the quiz. Quite literally be any of them.
- 45:10I'm going to kick myself, I think.
- 45:12But I'm I'm going to go and say rogue choice.
- 45:17I'm going to say, oh, not in the group.
- 45:18It's not necessarily qualified. I'm sorry, where did I lose you?
- 45:24I'm all over the so Sir, They, they, all of these teams.
- 45:27All qualified for the World Cup. But that one of them isn't.
- 45:30In our group, one of these teams is not in our group, Ghana,
- 45:33incorrect, perfect. We have in our group this year
- 45:37we have Panama perfect, Ghana perfect.
- 45:40And Croatia, Portugal have actually qualified.
- 45:43OK, Yeah, Yeah, they were. They have had some tough times
- 45:45in football, but yeah, Croatia get out was a wild ride.
- 45:49Croatia historically for us has been an issue.
- 45:51Yeah, yeah. So I'm not looking forward to
- 45:53it. Is is it Modrich Luka Modrich?
- 45:56Is he? Is he done yet?
- 45:58I hope so. He's always like he's the
- 46:00problem, he's the problem. Can he F off?
- 46:02Imagine being that nicest way possible.
- 46:03Imagine being that good where you're like, he's the problem.
- 46:05Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like Zlatan Ibrahim when we
- 46:08he would play for. Sweden, he's the problem.
- 46:11And and like, do you know what, just on top of that, before we
- 46:13move on to the next question, I hated people were referring to
- 46:16him as being the problem because I was like the guys towards the
- 46:19end of his career. I'm watching this game where
- 46:21we're playing Sweden. He did a bicycle kick from 40
- 46:25yards away from the goal, went in and I was like, you know
- 46:28what? He's the.
- 46:28Problem. He's a massive problem.
- 46:30He's also started doing CrossFit.
- 46:31Now he wears rads. Wait till he comes to hierarchs.
- 46:35Yeah, you do. He will be the problem.
- 46:39OK, question #8 Actually, the Netherlands will be hosting the
- 46:43Solheim Cup this year. But what is the Solheim Cup?
- 46:49Oh, it's golf. It's golf.
- 46:51What? It's a golf tournament similar
- 46:56to the Ryder Cup. OK, what's the key difference?
- 47:00Where? Oh, it's women's golf.
- 47:03You've nailed it. Did you already say that?
- 47:05No. OK, cool.
- 47:06Yeah, well, it's women's golf. It's the Women's Ryder Cup.
- 47:08It's the Women's Ryder Cup. Well, it's not.
- 47:09It's their own thing. It's their own thing but it's
- 47:12it's USA. Same match play style as as the
- 47:15Ryder Cup but being hosted in Netherlands.
- 47:17The course beautiful. We was looking on the website.
- 47:21Shall we go and do some market research and play helpful?
- 47:23I think we should. We'll get kicked off the course.
- 47:25Do you reckon HMRC will allow that as just being tapped on the
- 47:29on the card? Lovely question #9 Wimbledon
- 47:36said. It's, it's possibly a big year
- 47:38this year. Maybe for the aspect of the
- 47:41competitors, maybe for the aspect of the competition.
- 47:43How old is Wimbledon turning this year?
- 47:4682, fifty, 149 or 97? Oh.
- 47:53I like the bigger numbers for this, like the the 97 and the
- 47:57149. A 149 seems aggressive.
- 48:06What year would that be? Something that's 18 something,
- 48:09OK, which seems aggressive, but like it's got to be 1 of, if not
- 48:14the oldest tennis tournaments in the world ever, the first.
- 48:18I don't know. It's got to have something like
- 48:20that. 97 feels like we're getting to the 100th
- 48:25anniversary. Could be a vibe.
- 48:28It could be a vibe. I'm tending to wait which one
- 48:32was CA? 149.
- 48:35I'll just do that. It's got we'll do 149.
- 48:38Just because it's C How many? Times have you done that?
- 48:41C Always, actually. I double bluffed you.
- 48:44It's 149. It is. 1877 was the first
- 48:49Wimbledon. I knew it.
- 48:51I knew it. Question #10 The final question,
- 48:54Duncan Scott. Do you know who Duncan Scott is?
- 48:57No, he's a swimmer. OK, Duncan Scott has 13 medals.
- 49:00I know this. He's won 3 gold.
- 49:02Oh wait, British. Swimmer Scottish.
- 49:04Yeah, Something like that. Yeah.
- 49:06Yeah, OK. I know.
- 49:06Tough not to be Scottish when you're called Duncan Scott.
- 49:09Yeah, yeah, I know. He's got 13 Commonwealth medals.
- 49:13Yeah, from the Commonwealth Games.
- 49:14He's got 3 golds. Yeah.
- 49:17What? What discipline does he not have
- 49:20a gold medal in? Oh, the two.
- 49:23Are we getting multiple choice here?
- 49:25Perfect. 200m freestyle, the 100m freestyle, the 200 meter
- 49:31individual medley or the 200m freestyle relay.
- 49:37He was unreal at the Olympics. They had like an unreal relay
- 49:42team. I don't know what or maybe he
- 49:46wasn't in the relay and I just I remember him being unreal at
- 49:49something. I'm going to help you slash
- 49:51confuse you every single event. I just read he has a meddlin.
- 49:55Right. Yeah.
- 49:56I was going to say, OK, can we have the list one more time?
- 50:00Yep. So we've got the 200m freestyle,
- 50:01you've got the 100m freestyle, you've got the 200 meter
- 50:04individual medley and the 200m freestyle relay.
- 50:09The anomaly there has to be the 100 because all of the other
- 50:11ones were 200. So maybe he specializes in 200 /
- 50:16100 bear in mind. For a relay, you're obviously
- 50:20not doing 200. Interesting that you'd throw the
- 50:23spanner in the works like that. So the first one was freestyle,
- 50:26the second one was 100 freestyle.
- 50:28Freestyle. Then it was medley, Yeah.
- 50:31Individual medley and then you've.
- 50:32Done that to throw me off the scent.
- 50:35There is no pattern here. There is in my head.
- 50:39I know is there. Conan.
- 50:40It's got to be the 100 B. He doesn't have a golden.
- 50:45He has a gold that he won in Birmingham for the 200m
- 50:49freestyle. Yeah, he also won a gold in the
- 50:53individual medley. OK, good.
- 50:56This is good. On the Gold Coast, yeah, he won
- 51:00a gold in Birmingham for the 100m freestyle.
- 51:05If he got it, he got bronze for the 200m freestyle relay.
- 51:11It's not bad, is it? Not bad.
- 51:12It's not. Bad is it?
- 51:13You were you. I was kind of hoping that if you
- 51:15were going to pick a pattern, you'd pick that.
- 51:16Yeah. The actual pattern is that he's
- 51:18good on his own. Yeah, he's he's a good.
- 51:20Swimmer, I was going to say yeah, yeah.
- 51:22But that rounds us off to the the big fat quiz of the upcoming
- 51:25year. I've lost count but I feel like
- 51:26I've outperformed the whole of my performances in 2025 for
- 51:29sure. I think, I think you were 123.
- 51:35Hold on, maybe we shouldn't do this one 2-3 and a bit.
- 51:40I'll take the hierarchs. Oh.
- 51:42Shame. It's looking like nearly 50%,
- 51:46which is gas good for me, far and away better and next time
- 51:50you're going to be bringing the game.
- 51:52If you guys listening got better than 50%, at least put it in the
- 51:57comments because we'd love to crown a winner each episode.
