In Why the Sun and Moon Live in the Sky, we travel to southeastern Nigeria for a playful traditional story from the Efik people. Long ago, Sun, Moon, and Water all lived on Earth. Sun often visited his friend Water, but Water never visited Sun.
When Sun asks why, Water explains that his family is enormous. If Sun truly wants them to visit, he will need to build an enormous home. Sun and Moon get to work, but when Water arrives with fish, turtles, crabs, and countless other creatures, their carefully built home…
