- 0:00Doing Marriage Well for July 7th, 2026 The Gift of Being Fully Known and Fully
- 0:06Loved Following the freedom to be wrong, the second freedom that should exist
- 0:10in a marriage is the freedom to be yourself.
- 0:13This one is huge. Some folks don't feel they can be fully themselves at work,
- 0:17and many feel the same way among friends.
- 0:20We connect, but we hold back some of our more unique bits.
- 0:24We did things in the past we didn't share. We avoid certain subjects because
- 0:28we fear or know others don't agree with our opinions.
- 0:31Your marriage should be a place where you can be yourself and speak your mind.
- 0:35That doesn't mean your spouse must agree with you, but it does mean they don't
- 0:38judge or attack you for what you think.
- 0:41If you haven't caught on, I'm a bit eccentric. The phrase a bit will give my
- 0:45wife a laugh when she reads this. She says, yep.
- 0:48I see things most don't see and make connections most don't make.
- 0:52One friend calls me the king of random, but what seems random to him is actually connected in my mind.
- 0:58My close friends know I'm eccentric, but they don't get all of it.
- 1:01I try to know my audience.
- 1:03My wife, however, gets all of me with very little filtering and she accepts and loves me.
- 1:08I can't say she always understands, but her love and acceptance are consistent.
- 1:13Can you reveal all of yourself to your spouse? You encourage your spouse to
- 1:16reveal all of themselves to you?
- 1:18It's one of the best gifts you can give. You married your spouse because of
- 1:22the unique person they were.
- 1:24Except in their oddities may take some effort, but it's a blessing worth giving.
- 1:28This is Paul, and every person looks different.
