Latest / Massive Agent Podcast / MAP 076: Is it time we stop calling ourselves "real estate agents"?
Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_01: On this episode of the Massive Agent Podcast, I'm going to ask a very interesting question that might get some pushback, but I think you know by now, I don't really care.
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: Is it time that we stop calling ourselves real estate agents?
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: Like if we run into somebody at the store or at the park and they ask what we do, is it time that we stop saying a real estate agent?
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: I think that there's a better thing that we could say.
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: There's a better response.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: Let's talk about it.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: The massive agent podcast.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: We need generation tips and strategies to give you more leads and sell more homes.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: I love to buy houses.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: I like to sell houses.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Wait a minute.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Leads a week.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: I've had better.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: Oh have I got your attention now?
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Here's your host, Dustin Brown.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: What is up, everybody?
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Welcome to episode number 76 of the Massive Agent Podcast.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Hope you guys are having an amazing week so far.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: Right now, as this episode comes out, I'm down in Las Vegas for the Mortgage Mastermind Conference at the Palms, the fancy schmancy Palms Hotel and Casino.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: Having a good time.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: I assume I will.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: I'm recording this a few days before, but I'm anticipating a great time, as you can imagine.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: We are, this podcast, of course, is a proud founding member of real estate's first media network, the Industry Syndicate.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: And I am a I'm lucky enough to be a co-founder of that network.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: And if you're new to the show, welcome.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: This is the number one podcast on planet Earth that starts with the word massive, and definitely the number one show that's hosted by me.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: And if you're new, you don't even know who I am.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: My name is Dustin Brome.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: I am your host, a national speaker, trainer, and real estate marketing coach.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: I am also the host of a second podcast called the Industry Connected Show.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: I don't, I don't think I've ever called it Industry Connected.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: It's called the Industry Connected.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: I'm a realtor in Salt Lake City with EXP Realty, the co-founder of the Industry Syndicate, like I mentioned, and the founder of the and head coach, and head coach of the Massive Agent Society.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: That is our program that teaches you to take full control over your lead generation.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: If a business can't get new clients in the door, at some point it dies.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I created a program um over a year ago called the Massive Agent Society.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: We allow one agent or one lender per market to join.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: So there's like once it's sold out, it's sold out as long as they're an active member.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: And the society is really for any agent or loan officer who who is stuck.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Maybe you're new and trying to jumpstart your business and you don't know where the clients are going to come from.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: Maybe you've been doing business a certain way for 10, 15, 20 years, and now that that source of business is now drying up, like referrals or whatever it is, is starting to dry up, or you're just trying to go to the next level and build and get a bunch of leads coming in so you can start growing a team and start outsourcing and taking some of the workload off your shoulders.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: That is who the society is for.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: It's for people willing to do some work and willing to put in a time commitment to make that happen.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: Stay tuned to the end of the show today.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: I'm going to be offering something that we've never done before in regards to the society, something we have not done before and will not do again.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: I think it's pretty cool.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: I think you will too.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: So stay tuned after that for that announcement.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: But today, uh, let's I wonder how much pushback I'm going to get on this.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: I'm probably going to get some people vehemently disagreeing, but you know what?
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: That's that's cool.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: That's healthy.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: Disagreement is good, all right?
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: As long as it's respectful and constructive and all that, I get it, all right?
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: Because I don't know everything.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: I'm not always right.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, sometimes I'm not considering certain things.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: But I think it's about time that we as real estate agents stop referring to ourselves as a real estate agent in the context of when we tell people what we do.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: When we meet somebody out, if we're out and about, if we're at at a networking event, if we're at a party, if we're at the park with our kids and we run into another parent, if you're at you know, PTA conference or whatever, um, and people ask what you do, it's so easy for us to just say, Oh, I'm a real estate agent, right?
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: I'm a realtor.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: But here's the thing I think, I think that's not what we should be saying anymore.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, technically, yes, we're real estate agents, but guess what?
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: Realtors now have, I think so.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: I've been in the business for about uh about nine years, and I've never seen such public disdain for realtors as I see right now.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: Uh I think, I mean, there's a lot of variables to that.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: There's, you know, how many agents are are in business.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: Like in Phoenix, there's over 40,000 agents in just Phoenix.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: That's insane.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: It's insane.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: Uh so like there's there's more realtors now than ever before, and not just realtors, but real estate agents, because you don't have to be a realtor to be a practicing real estate agent.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: You do with my brokerage, but that's okay.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: So there's the, you know, and we all feel it.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: Like the society is changing.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Society's demands are changing.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: And and it's it's very interesting to see uh how that's manifesting.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: They more and more people are wanting discounted services, more and more people are even questioning whether or not they need an agent.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: Uh so if you type into Google right now, type in why do realtors, and then look at the auto responses, the the autocomplete, auto response suggestions, whatever the hell you call them.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: You type in what why do realtors, and here's here's the top results.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: Why do realtors exist, hate Zillow, still exist, do open houses, fail, and charge so much.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Why do realtors charge so much?
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: Why do realtors fail?
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: So those are the most commonly searched for terms, guys.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: That's pretty telling.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: And everybody goes to Google to search.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: So like that, that's pretty, I'd say that that's pretty representative of our society right now.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: I mean, Amazon and Prime and Netflix and all of this is like people are used, and Uber and Lyft, people are used to doing things on the apps, they're used to on-demand, they're used to it being cheaper, they're used to used to it being systemized.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: And so no wonder some of these tech disruptors are starting to gain some ground.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: And I know market conditions are a huge factor in that.
- 6:29SPEAKER_01: Like for sale by owner assistance companies like Homey here in Utah and Phoenix, and I think they might even be in Vegas, uh, they I don't think their business model is going to work in a buyer's market.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: But it's not a buyer's market.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: And right now they're gaining a ton of mind share, a ton of ground, a ton of uh a ton of listings for people that quote unquote want to save money, right?
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: So so here's why I think just saying, oh, I'm a I'm a real estate agent does us a disservice.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: With with that perspective of people, like the public perception of us, and and for example, my buddy Jason Frazier the other day, uh, he he had a realtor come to his door, knocking on the door, and they had a terrible, like it was just it was terrible.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: They're like, when do you plan on moving?
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: And they're like, We're not.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: See ya.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: You know, like that was their that was the way in.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: Come on.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: Uh apparently it was a pathetic attempt.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: So he went and mentioned something on their community Facebook page, and people were coming out of the woodwork, bashing realtors, like, why do we even need them anymore?
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: They're so annoying.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: Like, I'd rather burn my house down than list it, like some crazy stuff.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: And he put screenshots up.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: If you're friends with him on Facebook, go check out the screenshots.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: But this is what the public thinks about us.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: So we have to be cog cognizant and conscious of that and accept it.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: Like, I cannot change the public perception.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: I can do it one-on-one on one-on-one, right?
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: One person at a time, but I'm not just gonna like I can't just make everyone uh think highly of our profession, especially when there's so many jokers in our profession that shouldn't be, you know what I'm talking about.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: I'm really looking forward to that market crash or the correction or whatever it is for a lot of reasons.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: I I did a whole podcast about that.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Um was that?
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Six months, a year ago.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Go check it out.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: I don't know what episode number it is.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: Actually, you know what?
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna look it up for you.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Episode 14.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: It's episode four geez, that's way back before I even made the switch over to exp Realty.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: I think I announced that on like episode 19 or something.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: So yeah, it's it's all about why I'm so excited for the next market crash or market correction.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, if if you want to know more about why I say that, go check out episode episode 14 for some vintage massive agent.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: But uh seriously, guys, um the the perceptions changed.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: Uh less uh fewer and fewer people are seeing the value in agents.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: And I think that's it's unfortunately a fact.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: So when you just and not to mention, if you're one of those agents, I mean we all do this.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: We're like, well, I have more value than the other guy, right?
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: Like we all think that we're the best choice.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: We're all we all think we're the best choice to to take the listing or to help the buyer or whatever it is.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: And so, but then when when we run into somebody, maybe it's somebody we haven't seen since high school or whatever, and they're like, hey, what do you do now?
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: And you're just like, oh, I'm a real estate agent.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: When you say that, what do they think?
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: The first thing they they they think of is you being just like every other frickin' real estate agent that they've ever known and the 14 agents in their family tree.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: So you realize that, right?
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: Like it's it's great to say, oh, I'm a real estate agent if everyone respects real estate agents.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: But we're just not.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: We're just not respected by a lot of people right now.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: And will that ever reverse?
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: Uh I think in a lot of ways, no.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: So it is what it is.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: We have to be honest about this.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: So when you just say, when you when you introduce yourself as a real estate agent, you're lumping yourself into the group with all the rest of them.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: Okay, and usually that's a negative thing.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: So what do you say we don't do that?
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: What do you say we stop calling ourselves real estate agents when you know, in the context that I'm talking about it?
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: When you're telling people what you do for a living, why not use the term real estate advisor?
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: I'm a real estate advisor.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: When you do that, doesn't that sound much less salesy?
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: Like it takes the salesman component out of it, it takes the the negative connotation that some people might have out of it.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: An advisor is a friendly thing.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: Like it's it, I think it makes it so much more makes you so much more approachable, relatable, appealing.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: Um when you're when you're an advisor.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: And and I think a lot of times, I've tried this a few times, and every time people are like a real estate advisor, oh, tell me more about that.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: Because they're so used to just real estate agents, and everyone, see, everyone has already made up their mind about what an agent does.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: And they're probably all completely in like totally inaccurate or very incomplete ideas of what we do for a living, but that's their reality.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: Perception is reality.
- 11:15SPEAKER_01: We have to like we have to just accept that, guys.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: Okay, so so let's not play the game.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: Let's just say we're real estate advisors, which makes them curious because like I don't know what a real estate advisor does.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: And then you can be specific.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: You know, we we do this, we do this, this, this, and this, and then all of a sudden, like you've you've just told them you're a real estate agent in a way that that sells your value prop.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: You're telling them your value proposition, you're telling them some specific things that you do for your clients in once they brought their wall down, they brought their guard down when you say you're a real estate advisor.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: I think I think this is so this is so key.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: It's um, and I've heard so because I've branched out, I listened to content on the mortgage side of things.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: I was listening to the Mortgage X podcast, great podcast produced by the industry syndicate for the mortgage side of our industry.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: And uh there's this a very, very well-known, very well-respected uh mortgage personality, mortgage coach, both, I guess.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: Uh Barry Habib, super, super sharp guy.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: I love listening to him, and and he's not an agent.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: He talks to mortgage people.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: But what I learned from him was he talks about being an advisor for life.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: How if you're just a loan officer, like, like, okay, cool, like there's a billion of them.
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: Same with agents, there's a billion of them.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: But if you're an advisor that does A, B, C, and D and you help them with personal finance, you help them with um, you know, picking maybe the right investment and what based on cash flow or whatever it is, if you do those things and let people know up front that that's what you do for a living, isn't that more enticing?
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: Isn't that a little bit more interesting than, oh, I'm a real estate agent?
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, then you are controlling the narrative.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: You are controlling how people leave that interaction thinking about you.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: It puts all the control in your hands and it gives you a blank slate to tell them whatever you want about what you do for a living and how you do it.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: Think about this.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: And you might even want to change on your cards, like your business cards, your Facebook page, all this.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: Start putting real estate advisor.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: Advisor is so much more approachable, so much more desirable than a real a real estate agent.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: Because that's just lumping us all into one category.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: And I'm I'm sorry, guys, I don't want to be in that category anymore.
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: I don't want to be lumped in with the rest of the jokers.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: And I know you don't either.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: So on that episode of the Mortgage X podcast with Barry Habib, he really he jumps into how loan officers should be helping their clients to structure the loan, maybe refinance in certain situations, to free up cash to then reinvest elsewhere or pay down debts or whatever.
- 14:03SPEAKER_01: And and and he talks about advising them on how to do those things, being knowledgeable enough to do that.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: And so if you as a realtor really took the time to educate yourself in investment, real estate investment, how to flip homes, how to how to buy and hold rental properties, you know, how to do 1031 exchanges, um, how to do self-directed IRAs, like we talked about in one of our previous episodes.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: You if you if you know these things, you become so much more valuable as an advisor so you can help people accomplish what they want to accomplish.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: And sometimes that means you know, you know what they don't know.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: You know what they don't even know they don't know, if that makes sense.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: Hopefully that makes sense.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: It makes sense in my head.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: But a lot of times our clients or potential clients, they don't even know which questions to ask because they don't know what they don't know.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: That's that's a normal thing.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: You know, like if I if someone asked me uh uh like if if I went day one to pilot school and I was gonna start learning how to be a pilot, I wouldn't know which questions to ask, aside from like, how do I take off and how do I land and how do I do it without killing anybody?
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: Like, I guess that kind of covers it.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: Well, there we go.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: I guess I could be a pilot.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: But I want you to try this.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: I want you to start referring to yourself as a real estate advisor, a real estate advisor, and you know, just start changing it.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Change your title.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: You you get to pick your title.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: Why can't you choose to say real estate advisor?
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Because I promise you, all your competitors, or the vast majority of them, are just gonna say realtor, real estate agent, you know, you're a real estate advisor.
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: Would you rather have and and the last question to ask yourself would you rather hire an advisor or a salesperson?
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: An an advocate, an advisor, uh, a salesperson.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: A salesperson, not so appealing.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: And there's this huge perception out there that agents only care about their commission checks.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: And guess what?
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: A lot of that perception is based on reality, because I met a lot of agents, including me four or five years ago, who only focused on the damn commission check.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: Uh of course you want to do good, you want to help also, but you're really worried about are you gonna get paid?
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: And how much you're gonna get paid and how often.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: And that that's number one.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: And then number two is taking care of the client.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: And don't don't bullshit.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: Like I I was like that.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: Um I know how easy that is to do, and a lot of times it's subconscious.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: So a lot of that public perception is completely accurate.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: It is, if you're honest with yourself about what's going on right now.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: Let me know if you I I want to know your thoughts on this.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: Because like I said up front, I don't know everything.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: Like this is my perspective.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: These are my thoughts.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: Maybe I'm not considering something.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: If you disagree, or maybe you agree and just want to add something to the conversation, let us know over on Instagram.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: Go to at MassiveAgent on Instagram and find the post that that you know talks about this episode and let me know in the comments.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Same thing on on Facebook or LinkedIn.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: Just go to those platforms, find, find my post, and let me know in the comments what I'm missing.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: Let me know what I'm not considering, let me know what I have wrong.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: Because I'm totally willing to look at other points of view.
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: I might not, like after I hear your point of view, I might not agree with it still, which is my right, but you might say, you might bring something to light that I didn't consider.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: And I'm a pretty open-minded guy, and I'll absolutely consider it.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: So I'm I'm really curious what you, what your take on this is.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: Could you, could you stomach calling yourself a real estate advisor from now on?
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: I can.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: So that's what I'm doing.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: I'm not a real estate agent, I'm a real estate advisor.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: We do the exact same things, but one is just much more appealing to the consumer, which is what matters.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: Break their, break that wall down.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: Because if if they think right off the bat you're a salesman, now they're looking at everything you say to them from the lens of they're a salesman, they want to get me as a client, they want commission, you know, they're only saying this to sell me a house or whatever.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: But if you're an advisor, that doesn't happen as much.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: Food for thought, guys, food for thought.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: So do you as a real estate agent ever feel like you're just on this perpetual treadmill, this perpetual hamster wheel?
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Like it's so it's so crazy being an agent.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: You can make such an amazing living, and and a lot of us do.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: Like you can make a great living, you have you can do whatever you want schedule-wise.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: Like if you're if your your son has a a dance, well, if your daughter has a dance recital or your son has a baseball game during the day, like you can go, right?
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: You can completely like do what you want schedule wise.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: But the the issue with being a real estate agent, like 99.9% of us are, or rather, a real estate advisor, right?
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: Is we're on this hamster wheel.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: So we we work our asses off to see a deal to the end, and it closes, it funds, and it records, and then what happens?
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: Now we have to do it all over again.
- 19:13SPEAKER_01: We have to do it all over again with somebody else.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: And and and here's here's the problem with that for me.
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: I all the decisions that I'm making right now are are leading me towards removing myself from the equation and being able to leverage other the efforts of other people for work that I did once before.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: Okay, so real estate brokers, if you're a broker, you you're the only one in our profession who's really uh earning off of like you're really you're the only one with leveraged earning.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: Uh, you know, you've leveraged the efforts of your agents and you get a a cut of every deal they close without you having to physically be involved in that transaction, right?
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: So brokers have this residual component to it a little bit.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, but then like I don't want to be a broker.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: I don't want to deal with all the the legal stuff, the contract stuff.
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: Like, first off, I don't know most of that stuff, but I don't want to deal with all that.
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: So, like, if I unless I want to completely change careers, how do I go about doing that?
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: Um I I feel like I look, I've I've looked at everything, you know, I've created a the society coaching program, I've I've I've done all sorts of other things to to generate some income uh outside of just closing transactions, which is just one at a time.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: And if you ever let off the gas pedal, so does your income.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: I don't know, guys, isn't that a problem?
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, let's be honest.
- 20:47SPEAKER_01: It doesn't that suck?
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: You know, yes, you can make a great living, but what if you let off the gas pedal?
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: What if you're forced to let off the gas pedal because of health reasons or or something, family reasons?
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: Maybe you want to take a trip, a vacation, maybe you need a break.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: Uh, if you let off the gas pedal, so does your income.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: That sucks.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: So why aren't we working on things that could help us to fix that?
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: And guys, I unless you want to start a totally other business or go drive for Uber or or you know, do something else, there's nothing else out there that will let you build multiple streams of income doing what you're currently doing than EXP Realty offers and allows.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: I this is why I switched over to EXP Realty over a year ago.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: And it's been absolutely incredible.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: And not for a lot of the the like I I'm not I don't have my team jersey on here because I'm like, well, my brokerage is the best, you know, because everyone says that.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: I'm talking about specific reasons.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: By by embracing the brokerage that I'm with, by by making the choice to align myself with the brokerage I have, I can now.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Have all the transactions go on that I want.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: I can continue all of that, make as much as I as I want, close as many deals, help as many people as I want to, while at the same time, while not even distracting myself, I can help show other agents how they can have that and earn company stock and make a little piece from everyone that they help to bring over.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: Just like a broker gets paid a piece of every every one of their agents' closings, we as EXP agents, through the revenue sharing program, we get that too without being a broker.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: It's it's amazing.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: So, guys, if you've been thinking about this too, like if you're like, you know what, yes, if I ever let off the gas pedal, so does my income, and I'm not okay with that, then why don't we have a conversation?
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: I want, I'm happy to jump on a phone call, text, uh, zoom call, whatever, and and just give you my thoughts and experience to help you make a decision on what you want to do and which direction you want to go in, because I know I'm not the only one.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: I know I'm not the only one who sees the the one deal at a time, you know, finish one, start over, finish one, start over as a problem.
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: That that can be a problem if you ever had a health issue or something crazy.
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: And it happens all the time, and I don't want it to happen to me, and I don't want it to happen to you, start thinking about it at the very least.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: But let's have a conversation, or you could just go to massive agentpodcast.com slash exp and click play on a video to get some more information.
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: But if you're if you're really serious about this and really want to see why I'm so damn excited, why I'm even taking up time on my podcast to talk about it in the way that I am, I hope you guys can can see that this matters to me.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: And I feel like I've really found I've I've found an opportunity that works for me on so many different levels that I can't help but share that with people.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: And so if that if this if this bothers you, if you're tired of hearing it, I I get it.
- 23:56SPEAKER_01: I apologize if if it's bugging you.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: But I if you if you knew what I knew, if you saw what I saw, if you had the understanding of the EXP business model that I do, I think you'd be just as excited, if not more.
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: I'm totally cool if you guys say no.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: Totally cool if it's not for you, but at least take the time, like 30 minutes of your life, to to find out what you're saying no to.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: Okay?
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: Find out what you're saying no to before you say no.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: That's totally cool.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: Like then you're educated, you have the information, you're not ignorant, you know what's up, and then you you made a decision.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: Uh, not for me.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: Massiveagentpodcast.com slash exp, or please send me a send me a message on Facebook, Instagram, um, however you want to reach out, email me, Dustin at massiveagent.com, and just say, hey, I have a question about exp or hey, how does this thing work?
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: And I'd be happy to help you out and would love to have you on the team.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: Uh one of the benefits of being on our EXP team is uh because I want you to have all the tools to succeed, is free uh, you know, you get access to our coaching program for free, the Massive Agent Society.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: And like I mentioned at the beginning, I was going to offer something that I've never done before in in regards to the society that um it's kind of interesting.
- 25:20SPEAKER_01: I might be totally out of my mind for doing this.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: But so full transparency, guys.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: I'm not like I I've looked at how the society's growing and who we're bringing on board and and you know, like the momentum and everything that we're having or not having.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: And and I I realized like I this is the last promo that I'll be doing till at least the end of summer.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: But I wanted to do it this one time because I think it's it's kind of a clever, it's kind of a clever way to do it.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: But I hopefully it doesn't backfire in my face.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: You might you might get a great deal here.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: We're gonna see how this goes.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: But for the next week, I'm gonna be doing a choose your discount promotion.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: All right, since this is the last one, uh, the last promo for the foreseeable future, because frankly, we're growing fast enough, we're adding new people, um, we don't need to do the promos.
- 26:13SPEAKER_01: But I want to give you guys, you fence sitters or those who have had whatever whatever was holding you back, one more chance to choose your own discount.
- 26:24SPEAKER_01: So reach out.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's that's gonna be on you to figure out how to reach out, reach out and and propose whatever you want.
- 26:33SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: Uh if it makes sense, if it's reasonable and we can do it, I will.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: How about that?
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: So so you propose the discount, you put it out there, and I will, you know, if it makes sense, I'll say yes, and we'll do it.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: And we'll get you on board, get you uh get your market reserved, make sure that it is available because they're not all available right now, um, because one agent per market, so make sure it's not sold out.
- 26:58SPEAKER_01: You can see that over at MassiveAgentSociety.com.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: Click on claim market in the at the top of the page and or in the menu if you're on mobile, and that'll show you the map of all sold-out markets.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: If your market is not in red, then you're good to go.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: Um unless someone else does first.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's just that's just the way it is.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: So again, for the next week until, let's see, today is June.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: This show's coming out on June 6th.
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: Until June 13th, till the night of June 13th, uh, you can take advantage of the choose your discount promotion for the Massive Agent Society so you can finally take lead generation into your own hands.
- 27:37SPEAKER_01: You get full access to our database of Facebook ads that you literally just copy and paste and run them and and leads coming in.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: Like one of our coaching calls the other day, one of our agents in in Pennsylvania, he spent, what did he say?
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: He spent 20 bucks or 30 bucks on an ad promoting um promoting a listing or an open house, and he got like 50 leads.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: That there were like 50 cent leads.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: And he's like, he's like, I don't know if this is good or not, because I'm still new to this, but like, are these good?
- 28:05SPEAKER_01: And then he tells me the numbers.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: I'm like, dude, yes, that that that's very good.
- 28:09SPEAKER_01: That's fantastic.
- 28:10SPEAKER_01: So it all he did was copy and paste, guys.
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: We have the ads that are proven to work.
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: We've proven it time over time, or time after time, in different markets all over the country.
- 28:22SPEAKER_01: You just have to, you just have to do it.
- 28:24SPEAKER_01: It's a time commitment and a small financial commitment, also known as an investment.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: So take advantage of that uh while it lasts.
- 28:35SPEAKER_01: All right, I I want to give a shout out to to one of our favorite vendors in the industry, one of our partners, Agentology.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: These guys respond to all of my leads for me.

- 28:51SPEAKER_01: It it's such an amazing thing.
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: So they're in San Diego, they have a 24-7 call center.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, call center has a, I mean, it sounds like sounds like quick and loans, you know, some chimp just sitting there like, ooh, that's not what I mean.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: They have they have a team 24-7, 365, even Christmas morning, even Thanksgiving night, responding to your leads, guaranteed within five minutes.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: Guaranteed.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: They they send a combination of text messages, emails, and they even have a human being make a phone call to the lead.
- 29:23SPEAKER_01: And they do this for the first week, and and then they'll actually nurture your leads up to six months.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: And when I say up to, I don't know why I say up to for six months.
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: Like for six months, they will nurture your leads trying to reconnect, trying to get them to engage.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: And these guys are absolute pros.

- 31:36SPEAKER_01: Again, make sure you take if you're on the fence, jump off the damn fence and start running towards the goal line here.

- 32:03SPEAKER_01: I've looked, and that's why I created the society in the first place, and that's why I price it as uh generously as I do, is because I've seen the shit that's out there and how much that costs.
- 32:14SPEAKER_01: So take advantage, guys.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: Take advantage while you can.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: It's an investment, and I'm telling you, it's those that make the commitment, both with time and uh and finances, they're the ones that win.

- 32:27SPEAKER_01: You know, I I don't I don't even know what else I can say.
- 32:31SPEAKER_01: So, those of you guys that take action, congratulations.
- 32:34SPEAKER_01: Uh you know, winning and success is it's a foregone conclusion.
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: It's just how long is it going to take to get there?
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: And uh that's what we are here to help you do.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: Enjoy the rest of your week and weekend, guys.
