- Jessica Figueroa: Good morning, everyone. We are back here together. And I don't know if it was easy for you to get out of bed or hard for you to get out of bed, but we're here together today, and that's what matters. On this Just For Today podcast, we spend a couple minutes every day getting better at little things. So today's is kind of a funny one because you've heard the expression a million times. But today I want you to stop and smell the flowers. I know you're like, ⁓ funny, funny, ha ha. Well, I was on a walk around my neighborhood yesterday. And I saw this most beautiful flower and I was like, I wonder if it has a scent. And then I walked over into the grass a little bit and I smelled the flower. Not only did it have this incredible scent to it, but it was totally ⁓ unexpected. Like two feet away, I could not smell the scent. So on my walk, I had to smell, stop, and smell the flowers and the trees because they are there. This is so fascinating, too. If you didn't know that, did you know that there's a tree? That Chanel number five, the perfume, is modeled after. It's called the Langlang. I don't know if I'm pronouncing that correctly, but it's an evergreen native to Southeast Asia. And it's a botanical source of the essential oils used in the iconic Chanel number five perfume. Chanel number five is from a tree. You don't need to buy the expensive perfume. It's just out there. I think it's pronounced Lang Lang. It's Y-L-A-N-G. So Stop and smell the flowers might be no different than walking through Sax Fifth Avenue and getting a whiff of Chanel number five because God created all of the scents. He created everything. So today, if you have to pull over, go on a walk, I don't care where you have to go, maybe it's the grocery store. That's fine. Stick your nose down in the things that are for sale, in the flowers. And I want you to stop and smell the flowers and think about all of these scents that are out in nature for us to enjoy, whether it's the crisp air, I live near the ocean, I love the beach. Whether it's the smell of the ocean. You know, I know when I go to ⁓ been to a lake one time, like a huge lake. It was in Illinois. And I remember it was so weird because it looked like the beach and it felt like the beach on the sand, but it didn't smell like the beach I know. So scent is associated with so many memories and beautiful things. So today I want you guys to stop and smell the roses. Maybe bring someone with you. Make it fun. But just for today, we're gonna stop and smell the flowers. You don't have to limit it to roses. I love what we do here together, guys. I'll see you tomorrow.
