- 0:07SPEAKER_00: If you are great at what you do, your reputation is solid, and your network is full of impressive names, but none of it is helping you get closer to your business goals or professional aspirations, you are in the right place.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Social Capital Method.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: I'm your host, Sabine Gideon.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: This is the show for the high-performing professional, founder-led business owner, or consultant ready for the referrals, revenue, and recognition your work deserves.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Tune in each week for a breakdown of the strategies, systems, and identity level shifts behind sustainable relationship-driven growth.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Let's get into it.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: So I believe that many of us, especially business owners, we have the best of intentions on wanting to maintain our relationships, wanting to follow up with people on a regular basis, wanting to do check-ins and coffee chats and in-person events.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: But sometimes it just, there's just a lot going on and we may not have that capacity.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: And so as we're talking about outreach this week, I think it's important that we are creating space in our calendar to actually block off time to reconnect with the people in our network and those who we want to build and maintain these relationships with.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: And so, as an example, I have time blocked off on my calendar every single Monday to do my network outreach.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: And so now that means that every single week, just the same discipline that I apply to pitching myself for speaking opportunities, for following up with prospects, I now have that embedded in my calendar so I can ensure that every week I am reaching out, touching base, interacting and engaging with the people in my network.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: And so I'm inviting you, if you don't have time already scheduled on your calendar, to think about it.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Think about what is a day that is probably a little less chaotic for you, maybe less client-centered, that you can block off an hour, just an hour to reach out, touch base, send an introduction, connect individuals within your network, send a resource that might be helpful to them.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Think about what that might look like for you, and then put it on your calendar so that now you have that additional accountability because your Outlook or your Google workspace is going to flag you and say, hey, this time slot is dedicated for you to reach out to your network.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Thank you for tuning in to this week's episode.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: Before you go, I want to put something in your hands that will help you actually apply this work.
