- Jessica Figueroa: Hello, listeners. My name is Cindy Marlar, and you are listening to the Just For Today podcast. And if you've been with us since the beginning, you are several months into doing little things just for today. And you should be able to look back and see at how much your thinking has begun to change. Because changing our thinking changes our actions and gets us to where we need to go. Okay, so what are we going to do just for today? Well, I like this one. Just for today, we're going to call up a friend. Or text them and say, hey, can you tell me and look back on the past year and tell me something that I've really improved upon? And then also, can you tell me something that I really still need to work on in my life? And then you're just going to listen and wait and see what they say. If you've never done this before, you might not get a lot of feedback because this is not common. People don't do this in friendships and relationships. But the best people that are learning and growing at high rates, they do. Their inner circle, they are asking them all the time for feedback. In fact, they don't even have to ask them anymore because they know they're in a feedback loop with their closest people and they do it for one another. Because it is impossible for us to have a perspective on our life to grow and change at a rapid pace. We need outside perspective. So when you call this person, I'm gonna encourage you to not make it your mom or your dad. Unfortunately, their perspective is a little skewed in your favor. I'm also gonna encourage you not to call a sibling. Because unfortunately, their perspective is a little skewed against you. So call a trusted friend and don't worry how it goes. It might just be like, no, I love you. Everything you do is great. But what you're doing is starting a process. You're starting a process of attracting people, the closest people in your life, and expecting them to give you feedback and then you on them. This is how you grow at a faster pace alongside people. And again, The greatest growers that are already are already doing this with their people. So today you're gonna reach out to someone and ask them something you've improved upon in the past year and what else still needs some work. And we're just gonna do it just for today. I'll see you tomorrow.
