- Jessica Figueroa: Hello, everyone. My name is Cindy Marlar, and you're here listening to the Just For Today podcast. Today we're going to talk about a little something from the book Principles by Ray Dalio. This is a really great book, and you can read it in just little chunks. It's not something you have to read through. It's really beautifully bound. I love it. Anyway, so this is coming to from this book, and it talks about how we need to make sure that we give people more consideration than we demand for ourselves. So I'm gonna say that again. So we want to make sure that we were giving people the consideration more than we demand for ourselves, at the very minimum, the same. So here's an example. One time I was with someone that I know to be to do kind of like sloppy work, you know, and then I saw them around someone that they were hiring to do something. They were hiring them to do work and they were nitpicking the person. And I thought that's so funny that they're nitpicking that person. But that person is already doing the work at what I would have considered a tidier level than they themselves do. So do you demand from the people in your life more than you're willing to give? Do you demand cleanliness when you're not a clean person? Do you demand promptness from the people in your life when you're not a prompt person? Do you demand people to listen to you when you're not a great listener? Do you demand people to be talkative? And entertaining when you're not talkative and entertaining. So just for today, we are going to practice being more considerate of others and what we the demands we put on them than ourselves. And at the very least, we're going to pay attention, guys, because oftentimes we're demanding from ourselves, the people around us subconsciously more than we are giving out. And that will cause problems. So today we are going to make sure and give people more consideration. than we demand from ourselves. So we're gonna we're gonna set the bar and keep it consistent with the people in our lives. But all we have to do it is just for today. I'll see you guys tomorrow.
