- 2:14Speaker 3: Jeff.
- 2:15Speaker 1: You sit at the you sit next to my bedside
- 2:17Speaker 1: because you're supposed to be NFS sexy stuff for me. Yes, yeah,
- 2:20Speaker 1: I'm supposed to tell me. Life will find a way
- 2:22Speaker 1: to fuck you over nand Lake. Hi everyone, it's still
- 2:25Speaker 1: comfy Tuesday. I'm Nadley Katona, your host of To All
- 2:29Speaker 1: the Men I've toler You did before, a weekly look
- 2:32Speaker 1: at everyday misogyny, and this is.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Hi, friends.
- 2:35Speaker 3: I'm Julia Washington, your host of Pop Culture Makes Me Jealous,
- 2:38Speaker 3: where we analyze pop culture through the lens of race
- 2:40Speaker 3: or gender and sometimes both.
- 2:42Speaker 1: And this will be your first of many reminders that
- 2:45Speaker 1: we are covering Jurassic Park and we have a live
- 2:48Speaker 1: comment feed going on. And if you do not tune
- 2:53Speaker 1: in live, but you listen to the replay and still
- 2:55Speaker 1: want to comment on anything that we say. Jules and
- 2:58Speaker 1: I love to be on the internet. Mm hmm, jeweles
- 3:01Speaker 1: just did you a favor and did a did a
- 3:05Speaker 1: did an example comment?
- 3:08Speaker 2: So look at us.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I kicked it off for everyone here today.
- 3:12Speaker 1: In a world where likes and comments are currency. It's
- 3:16Speaker 1: just like dinosaur embryos.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, oh all right, Jules, I have to apologize
- 3:26Speaker 2: because you terrorized me.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Yeah, because me and my sister are sick people. We're
- 3:31Speaker 1: sick people, and we have watched Jurassic Park dozens of times.
- 3:35Speaker 1: My sister shows it to high schoolers, freshman high schoolers.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Some of them might be watching, hey guys, because it's
- 3:41Speaker 1: this week. This week, she's showing it to the high schoolers.
- 3:46Speaker 2: I would die if I was in that room.
- 3:48Speaker 3: I'd be like, miss Katona, I need to use the
- 3:52Speaker 3: bathroom for an hour and a half.
- 3:55Speaker 1: So I had forgotten because I thought what made it
- 3:58Speaker 1: scary was the Wises themselves. No, because that's what makes
- 4:03Speaker 1: it scary in the theaters because it's so loud. But no,
- 4:08Speaker 1: the whole movie is just very terrifying. And my sister
- 4:10Speaker 1: is like, it's not a scary movie.
- 4:12Speaker 3: I go.
- 4:12Speaker 1: You are correct, I go. But some people are scared
- 4:15Speaker 1: by thrillers.
- 4:19Speaker 3: It turns out, as it turns out, the idea of
- 4:23Speaker 3: being chased by dinosaurs is actually kind of horrifying. Right.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Turns out not everyone loves a disaster movie. Who would
- 4:31Speaker 1: have thunk? Who would have thunk? My sister and I
- 4:35Speaker 1: always hard for disaster movies. We love a bald buff
- 4:40Speaker 1: man running through a disaster Jason Statum or The Rock.
- 4:45Speaker 2: But there are no bald men in this one.
- 4:47Speaker 3: There aren't.
- 4:49Speaker 2: But I guess goloom. Listen, let's talk about it.
- 4:55Speaker 3: You know my first note, I'm gonna tell you Jeff
- 4:59Speaker 3: Goldbloom ho underlined three times.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I kept live texting people. Hey everyone. I don't know
- 5:09Speaker 1: if we know this, but the original trio of the
- 5:12Speaker 1: Jurassic Park movie is the sexiest trio that ever did live.
- 5:16Speaker 1: There's not a sexier trio then Laura Dern, I never
- 5:22Speaker 1: remember who plays Alan and Jeff Goldblue Yeah, And like,
- 5:27Speaker 1: I get it that Alan gets a lot of sexy
- 5:29Speaker 1: clout from the other two. But in the last one
- 5:32Speaker 1: where they all when the original trio comes back, somehow
- 5:35Speaker 1: he got hotter.
- 5:37Speaker 3: And my friend told me and my friend you're not
- 5:41Speaker 3: all britishman. Go ahead, Sorry I keep interrupting you.
- 5:43Speaker 2: You have thoughts.
- 5:44Speaker 1: My friend told me that it's because he like quit
- 5:46Speaker 1: acting and then got like a farm with sheep in
- 5:50Speaker 1: Scotland and like maybe a winery or a place to
- 5:52Speaker 1: make whiskey, a distillery if you will.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Is it because he felt bad for what they did
- 5:57Speaker 3: to the goats in the movie. Maybe maybe he's just sheep.
- 6:04Speaker 1: My first note is to let the listeners know that
- 6:08Speaker 1: for Halloween this year, my brother in law will be
- 6:12Speaker 1: doctor John Hammond or rich Man doctor John John Hammond.
- 6:17Speaker 1: We don't even know if he was a doctor. Yeah.
- 6:20Speaker 1: My sister will be Alan because she wants to wear
- 6:23Speaker 1: the neck kerchief. She's like, I want the neckkerchief. Her
- 6:27Speaker 1: friend will be Laura Dern Nadley. Why aren't you Laura
- 6:30Speaker 1: Dern because I'm sexy? Jeff goldblue nice. And I texted
- 6:36Speaker 1: my sister yesterday. I was like, Hey, we might have
- 6:39Speaker 1: to hose me down for Halloween because my costume is
- 6:44Speaker 1: after he gets drenched in rain.
- 6:46Speaker 3: We all need to be soaking wet.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Yeah, and the baby's going to be a dinosaur.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Oh, that's gonna be the cutest.
- 6:56Speaker 1: And then my sister's husband or my so his friend's
- 7:00Speaker 1: husband is going to be newman.
- 7:05Speaker 3: He's just a.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Shitty guy and everything.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Just any guy.
- 7:08Speaker 2: He's just a shitster.
- 7:10Speaker 3: I've never seen him in anything where you're not like, God,
- 7:13Speaker 3: you're an asshole.
- 7:15Speaker 1: His death with the spitting dinosaur, I believe is my
- 7:20Speaker 1: first jump scare, like my first jump scare that I
- 7:24Speaker 1: remember as a child. Yeah, but Jules, how do you
- 7:27Speaker 1: feel after your first watch of Jurassic Park, being traumatized
- 7:31Speaker 1: as you are by fake dinosaurs? That this movie is
- 7:34Speaker 1: coded as a family friendly, fun movie night film.
- 7:40Speaker 3: I would never family film night this movie with anybody
- 7:45Speaker 3: under the age of fifteen.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it's wild scary.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Maybe maybe my son would have been cool with it
- 7:55Speaker 3: at like the thirteen, Like this would definitely have been
- 7:58Speaker 3: a conversation. Watch the trailer, let's make a decision. But
- 8:02Speaker 3: I definitely would not have sat down with my three
- 8:05Speaker 3: year old, my three year old, eight year old, and
- 8:10Speaker 3: ten year old to watch this movie. Not that I
- 8:13Speaker 3: was three when it came out, but still.
- 8:17Speaker 1: I need everyone to weigh in on the comments. Is
- 8:21Speaker 1: Jurassic Park I'm making our banner now. Is Jurassic Park
- 8:28Speaker 1: I'm a professional, a family friendly phil.
- 8:31Speaker 3: I need everyone to wait in.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Because fine holiday fun.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Lore has it, legend has it that the first movie
- 8:41Speaker 1: I ever went to go and see the movie theater
- 8:44Speaker 1: was either one hundred and one Dalmatians Cute or The
- 8:51Speaker 1: Batman with Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman. That man returns, returns
- 8:56Speaker 1: or begins or whatever.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Interesting. Okay, here's the thing. The scene where the kids
- 9:04Speaker 3: are in the kitchen, they're so little.
- 9:07Speaker 2: They're like that little boy is so little, like the.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Girl preteen, thirteen years old, maybe still so little. And
- 9:17Speaker 3: then the boy is just so happy, go lucky. He's like,
- 9:20Speaker 3: I like dinosaurs, Let's get in the car. And he's
- 9:23Speaker 3: like thrilled by the whole thing because he's seven, because
- 9:27Speaker 3: he's a little.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Itty bitty baby.
- 9:29Speaker 3: And then and then the dinosaurs was like, I don't
- 9:32Speaker 3: give a fuck about you. Let me eat your legs
- 9:35Speaker 3: and just like chasing them through the kitchen like I'm hungry, bitch,
- 9:40Speaker 3: get here, and you're just like, but the babies.
- 9:45Speaker 1: The little girl is still little enough that she doesn't
- 9:48Speaker 1: know the difference between a meat eating dinosaur, right and
- 9:51Speaker 1: a plant eating dinosaur. Her brother has to tell her
- 9:53Speaker 1: plant dinosaur right, meat dinosaur right. I And this happens
- 10:01Speaker 1: to us a lot where we rewatch one of these
- 10:03Speaker 1: movies and we're like, oh, those those people are actually
- 10:06Speaker 1: way younger than I've ever perceived them.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Uh huh, because even in like the retrospectives and like
- 10:13Speaker 3: the clips and stuff I've seen, I just don't recall,
- 10:15Speaker 3: like it just doesn't.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Feel like they were that little.
- 10:18Speaker 3: And then to see this little tiny boy who's probably
- 10:22Speaker 3: six years old, who's just like, I'm a cute little
- 10:26Speaker 3: baby who loves who loves me a dino? Give me
- 10:29Speaker 3: a lunch box that says Jurassic Park please, And then
- 10:32Speaker 3: he's like, ah, god my life. And you're just like no,
- 10:35Speaker 3: but you should be rescued because your children.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Just my sister are texting me and she's like, she's like, listen,
- 10:41Speaker 1: I watch this movie every year around eight times in
- 10:46Speaker 1: one week because of.
- 10:47Speaker 2: All yeah yeah, yeah yeah.
- 10:50Speaker 1: She's because she's traumatizing kids. And I asked her, I go,
- 10:54Speaker 1: is it fun to watch high schooler? I go, what's
- 10:56Speaker 1: the split? How many of your kids have already seen
- 10:59Speaker 1: Jurassic Park? Because everyone's aging out of our movies. We
- 11:02Speaker 1: have met people who have not seen Thoma and Louise
- 11:05Speaker 1: or a league of their own.
- 11:06Speaker 3: I know it's so it's just wild to me.
- 11:09Speaker 1: So I asked her. I was like, so, what's the split?
- 11:12Speaker 1: And she goes, it's usually pretty fifty to fifty, And
- 11:14Speaker 1: I went, how fun is it to watch a bunch
- 11:16Speaker 1: of teenagers watch how terrifying Jurassic Park is? And she goes,
- 11:21Speaker 1: I left.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Every year. I love you, so you've got to stop. Sorry.
- 11:27Speaker 1: She's like, I'm just eating a snack, playing candy crutch
- 11:32Speaker 1: and just being like, yeah, kids, t Rex is a
- 11:34Speaker 1: be serious. She goes, and I pause the movie every
- 11:38Speaker 1: class period to make fun of the Little Boy because
- 11:41Speaker 1: when Alan and Ellie are trying to block a door
- 11:46Speaker 1: from a velociraptor, right, the little boy and the girls
- 11:51Speaker 1: trying to code, right, which they made fun of her
- 11:53Speaker 1: earlier because she's a geek because she can hack. Hacking
- 11:58Speaker 1: was maybe we should have learned how to hack. Maybe
- 12:01Speaker 1: our careers would have been more lucrative if.
- 12:03Speaker 3: I learned anything from the nineties hacking is it?
- 12:07Speaker 1: Maybe we should have hacked? But the little boy is
- 12:11Speaker 1: just behind his sister while she's hacking, and he has
- 12:15Speaker 1: his hands like this and he's jumping straight up and
- 12:18Speaker 1: down and that's how he chose to show his fear.
- 12:21Speaker 1: And she was like, it's Oscar Worthy acting. And I
- 12:24Speaker 1: was like, but as a seven and a half year old,
- 12:27Speaker 1: if I'm watching Alan failed to block a door from
- 12:30Speaker 1: a velociraptor, I too, as a thirty four year old,
- 12:34Speaker 1: I might just be rocking back and forth and jumping
- 12:37Speaker 1: up and down.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Yeah. I really felt like, I, oh, man, now, can
- 12:47Speaker 3: I just tell you? Yeah, tell me.
- 12:49Speaker 2: I was pacing.
- 12:51Speaker 3: I went into the kitchen, I went to check my phone.
- 12:54Speaker 3: I was like pacing back and forth. And I was
- 12:56Speaker 3: like the like the hacker girl's gonna get it. Let's
- 12:59Speaker 3: do it, please, please please, And Laura Durn's sitting there
- 13:02Speaker 3: with her legs against the wall and her back against
- 13:04Speaker 3: the door, and everyone's just like, oh my god, it's
- 13:09Speaker 3: and I'm over here like this is horrifying. Yeah, I
- 13:16Speaker 3: it's just as scary as if it were a man
- 13:18Speaker 3: with a knife or a gun.
- 13:20Speaker 1: And what's brilliant is is that Alan set up them
- 13:24Speaker 1: all me being murdered by veloci raptors in the first
- 13:28Speaker 1: five minutes of the movie because some shitty kid says
- 13:32Speaker 1: that the skeleton doesn't look scary enough, so he gets
- 13:36Speaker 1: this big raptor claw out and he's like, this is
- 13:38Speaker 1: how the raptor would carve your belly, right to eat
- 13:41Speaker 1: your flesh yep, And Laura Durn's like, that's dark, Alan,
- 13:45Speaker 1: and he's like, I hate children. It's dark, but it's true.
- 13:51Speaker 1: It's dark, but it's true. I hate children. This was
- 13:54Speaker 1: the first time where I'm convinced, so I've never been
- 13:57Speaker 1: convinced of this before. I thought that, like, Ellie and
- 14:00Speaker 1: Alan had chemistry, but they never had like a camp
- 14:03Speaker 1: side romance. I'm convinced that Alan and Ellie had a
- 14:07Speaker 1: camp side romance and Ellie wouldn't call her him her
- 14:11Speaker 1: man because he doesn't want to.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Have kids, Like I believe that that's actually, yeah, that's what.
- 14:17Speaker 3: That's what I picked up from the movie because when
- 14:19Speaker 3: Jeff Goldman's like, hey, she's seeing anybody, and he's like
- 14:23Speaker 3: he makes whatever, that comment is where I was like, Oh,
- 14:26Speaker 3: you guys are.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Fucking yeah, a campside romance, if you will, A firelight affair, yeah,
- 14:34Speaker 1: which hey. Alan's Hot Archaeology was sold to us in
- 14:40Speaker 1: the nineties as a very hot and sexy career.
- 14:44Speaker 3: This was a hot You're going to travel the world
- 14:47Speaker 3: and cover all kinds of prehistoric tokens.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I'm really surprised that I have met zero archaeologists, because
- 14:55Speaker 1: they were in every nineties children's movie, every single one bones.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Maybe it's is Jurassaic Park, Steven Spielberg. Yes, maybe it's
- 15:05Speaker 3: just Steven Spielberg.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Maybe maybe maybe he maybe he had a parent toe
- 15:11Speaker 1: him he couldn't be an archaeologist because it wasn't a
- 15:13Speaker 1: real job.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Or maybe he had a parent who's like, you need
- 15:19Speaker 3: to be an archaeologist because being a filmmaker is not
- 15:21Speaker 3: a real job.
- 15:22Speaker 1: So he makes films about archaeodiologists, generational trauma. Everyone hits
- 15:29Speaker 1: a bitch. Oh my gosh, what is one of my
- 15:33Speaker 1: other points?
- 15:34Speaker 3: Oh the other All my points are about Jeff Goldblum.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I feel like, well, number one, we will get to
- 15:41Speaker 1: Jeff Goldbloom. But I feel like Jurassic Park is where
- 15:45Speaker 1: my animal activism started because Jurassic par is probably the
- 15:50Speaker 1: first movie I ever watched just gunnen down animals just
- 15:53Speaker 1: for being animals.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Because here's the thing. The dinosaurs did.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Not ask to be here, right the meg the shark,
- 16:02Speaker 1: it was be its best life on a part of
- 16:05Speaker 1: the ocean we had never discovered.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Yeah, the humans are the antagonist.
- 16:09Speaker 1: We fucked around and found that. T Rex said you
- 16:12Speaker 1: will find out. Yeah, you will find out. And and
- 16:18Speaker 1: I think they're leaning. They're trying to lean very hard
- 16:22Speaker 1: with the reboot series about it, being like Jeff Goldbloom
- 16:25Speaker 1: is like, this is our fault and we should just
- 16:27Speaker 1: let the dinosaurs have our planet, which I've never picked
- 16:33Speaker 1: up on is his entire attitude before they even get
- 16:38Speaker 1: to the island.
- 16:38Speaker 2: He's like this big bad Yeah, he I wore down.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Jeff Goldblom the only one making sense about Jurassic Park
- 16:45Speaker 3: because he's like, this is not a good idea. You're
- 16:48Speaker 3: playing with fire. And then there's another point where he's
- 16:50Speaker 3: like I fucking told you as like anti capitalist Jeff Goldbloom,
- 16:57Speaker 3: Doctor Ian Malcolm is like, I get it.
- 17:00Speaker 1: You found some dinosaur blood, you thought you'd run some experiments,
- 17:03Speaker 1: you found out that you could play god, but then
- 17:05Speaker 1: you took your god powers and you created Disney World
- 17:08Speaker 1: and now people are getting eaten.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I'm like, how did this old man not
- 17:14Speaker 3: feel worse? He sent his grandchildren out there. I no
- 17:20Speaker 3: shade to my child, my grandchildren. You best believe I
- 17:24Speaker 3: will protect more than I will protect my child. My
- 17:26Speaker 3: child's job is done. He gave me grandchildren, any grand
- 17:29Speaker 3: new grandchildren, and therefore to the raptors he will go.
- 17:33Speaker 3: And therefore you do you baby, let me read, let's
- 17:36Speaker 3: get these grandkids grown.
- 17:38Speaker 1: But I was like, oh, maybe that's why I've been
- 17:42Speaker 1: humping my pillow every time Jeff Goldbloom comes onto a screen,
- 17:46Speaker 1: because literally he is the anti capitalist man of my dreams.
- 17:51Speaker 1: And people have told me on my own show, to
- 17:54Speaker 1: all the men I've tolerated before that I produce, an
- 17:57Speaker 1: I host, and I invite people onto, people have told
- 18:01Speaker 1: me being in love with Jeff Goldbloom goes against everything
- 18:04Speaker 1: you stand for because he swore me, and he's flirty,
- 18:09Speaker 1: and he like, he's trying to get you, and I'm like,
- 18:12Speaker 1: don't leave me in a room with him.
- 18:14Speaker 2: I get one, wait, is he is he really?
- 18:17Speaker 3: Like? That's never been?
- 18:18Speaker 2: Oh my god?
- 18:19Speaker 3: Am I blind to his? Like?
- 18:23Speaker 1: The man is never not serving up? Are we having
- 18:28Speaker 1: sex right now? And You're like, I don't know, Jeff,
- 18:30Speaker 1: are we?
- 18:31Speaker 3: I always I always saw it as that's his persona.
- 18:37Speaker 3: But the minute you're like, all right, let's do this,
- 18:39Speaker 3: and he'd be like.
- 18:40Speaker 1: No because he has a beautiful wife and family, or.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Just like if he like. He doesn't strike me as
- 18:47Speaker 3: the type to lay just delay. He strikes me as
- 18:50Speaker 3: the type who's gonna like, get down when he wants to,
- 18:54Speaker 3: and that's not gonna be all the time, and that's
- 18:56Speaker 3: not gonna be with every girl that shows up on
- 18:59Speaker 3: his doorstep. You know what I mean. I don't know.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Am I wrong? Yeah?
- 19:03Speaker 1: Everyone who's not Geena Davis can can skip this next
- 19:07Speaker 1: forty five seconds. But Geena Davis, you didn't give me enough.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Jeff Goldbloom Tea. When you're in your biography, in your
- 19:15Speaker 1: book Dying of Politeness, I would like you to very
- 19:19Speaker 1: politely tell me that Jeff Goldbloom lays it down like
- 19:24Speaker 1: he fucks.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Yeah. I listen with the way that she described the
- 19:30Speaker 3: house and that they lived in.
- 19:31Speaker 2: There's no way that that man doesn't know what he's doing.
- 19:34Speaker 1: I need to know that he fucks.
- 19:37Speaker 3: I just don't think he's like. But I think it's
- 19:43Speaker 3: when I hear SWARMI I think like James Franco.
- 19:47Speaker 1: I hate James Franco, and I think that's why people
- 19:49Speaker 1: are always so surprised that I love Jeff Goldbloom because
- 19:52Speaker 1: they're like, it's not even that. Maybe Jeff just like
- 19:57Speaker 1: pulls it off better or maybe it comes off more genuine.
- 20:01Speaker 1: But I'm like, I would do unexplainable illegal things for
- 20:06Speaker 1: Jeff Goldblue.
- 20:09Speaker 3: I would never do anything illegal for a man or
- 20:12Speaker 3: my child or myself because I'm terrified of jail.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Is like, amr.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Jeff goldboo. So I'm live on.
- 20:24Speaker 1: TikTok and the likes are coming in because I'm like,
- 20:26Speaker 1: I would do.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Illegal things for Jeff Goldlow, for sexy Jeff goldwort, sexy
- 20:31Speaker 3: Jeff gold.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Or people want to wait in. I don't know what happens.
- 20:35Speaker 1: I barely look at this when we're talking, and when.
- 20:37Speaker 3: I go to your it doesn't tell me that you're alive.
- 20:41Speaker 3: It never does.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Oh there it is.
- 20:44Speaker 1: So let's talk about John Hammond and my note about
- 20:49Speaker 1: John Hammond. He's the guy in white, He's the grandpa.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Thank you, because you know I didn't. I was like
- 20:55Speaker 3: so stressed out, I didn't register anybody's actual character name John.
- 21:00Speaker 1: So John Hammond, I wrote down this is my exact note,
- 21:07Speaker 1: and everyone weigh in in the comments.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Tell us everything.
- 21:13Speaker 1: But don't let the billionaires do science at all. They
- 21:18Speaker 1: have uttered disregard for normal people and instead just want
- 21:23Speaker 1: to get hard about their hobbies. Like he just wanted
- 21:28Speaker 1: to jack off on a dinosaur.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Yeah, pretty much, pretty much.
- 21:32Speaker 1: This man wasn't I don't think this man was a scientist.
- 21:35Speaker 1: I don't think he was.
- 21:37Speaker 2: A like archaeologist, appealeontologist. Don't they say that in the movie.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Doesn't one of them call him out and it's like,
- 21:44Speaker 3: what are you doing? Like you're not even.
- 21:48Speaker 1: He's probably just a venture capitalist.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Yeah, and then the lawyer guy who gets meets his
- 21:55Speaker 3: unfortunate demise, Yeah, you know he's he's also representing all
- 22:01Speaker 3: of the investors. Yeah. So like no one in this
- 22:07Speaker 3: has a science background, which is why he showed up
- 22:09Speaker 3: at Laura Durn's camp right right.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Yes, because he was like, please tell us that we
- 22:13Speaker 1: named the dinosaurs correctly and that we're feeding them the
- 22:17Speaker 1: things that they should be.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Bad.
- 22:18Speaker 1: He literally just like gas lit Baby bed Wan into
- 22:21Speaker 1: believing that this.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Is a good I was like, look like bad Wong.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Because it's Baby bed Wan. He's in all of them,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I think sounds like.
- 22:32Speaker 3: I was like, this voice is so all I like
- 22:34Speaker 3: say fronk, say fronc for me right now, bad Wan,
- 22:38Speaker 3: it's baby bed say mister Banks. I need to say,
- 22:42Speaker 3: mister Bank.
- 22:43Speaker 2: We love baby bed Wan.
- 22:45Speaker 1: No, but bd Wan got gas lit and then he
- 22:49Speaker 1: formed a team of scientists and then they got Alan
- 22:53Speaker 1: almost eaten. I texted my sister while I was watching it,
- 22:59Speaker 1: and I was like, John Hemmon would one thousand percent
- 23:03Speaker 1: hurdle himself to the bottom of the sea.
- 23:05Speaker 3: To see if he could see a picture of the Titanic.
- 23:10Speaker 1: And my sister went, without doubt, I go, he funded
- 23:13Speaker 1: the Titanic sub like he commissioned the Titanic sub right
- 23:17Speaker 1: to hurdle him down because he was also fine with
- 23:20Speaker 1: getting eaten.
- 23:21Speaker 2: By a t rex.
- 23:23Speaker 3: I m.
- 23:26Speaker 1: M m. Because here's the thing. My sister, because she
- 23:30Speaker 1: looks up things while she's watching this movie, she knows
- 23:33Speaker 1: a lot of ridiculous t rex facts, like did you
- 23:36Speaker 1: know that t rex can swim? Doesn't that feel stupid
- 23:39Speaker 1: in your brain? Imagine if because their arms are so teeny,
- 23:44Speaker 1: what is what are they in? Their head is so big?
- 23:48Speaker 1: I need everyone, let's all visualize together how stupid a
- 23:53Speaker 1: t rex would look swimming.
- 23:56Speaker 3: The thing that like, sorry to interrupt you. The thing
- 23:59Speaker 3: that still kind of blows my mind is how they're like,
- 24:02Speaker 3: we only breed females.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Nothing will happen.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Nothing will happen because we're only breeding females. And then
- 24:08Speaker 3: I'm like, but I just feel like that's flawed logic, right.
- 24:13Speaker 3: I don't know anything about animal science, that's not my expertise,
- 24:17Speaker 3: but I do know that you filled in missing DNA
- 24:21Speaker 3: with something else.
- 24:23Speaker 2: And Jeff Goldbloom said that life will find a way.
- 24:27Speaker 2: That's right, he did.
- 24:29Speaker 1: God creates dinosaurs, God kills dinosaurs, God creates man, Man
- 24:33Speaker 1: creates dinosaurs, Dinosaurs kill men. Women rule the earth. It's
- 24:41Speaker 1: a banger line.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Can I also tell you the scene when they're like
- 24:45Speaker 3: racing to the electric fence but the powers off listen
- 24:51Speaker 3: couldn't and those children are climbing, climbing it. I was like,
- 24:56Speaker 3: I am gonna have a heart attack.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Yeah, a family phone film about dinosaurs. And I understand
- 25:07Speaker 1: breeding a t rex because it's a money maker. And
- 25:11Speaker 1: as my sister has pointed out, t rex is basically useless,
- 25:15Speaker 1: Like they're kind of like the male lions of the
- 25:18Speaker 1: Jurassic Park, where it's like they don't actually have to
- 25:22Speaker 1: hunt very hard and therefore they won't.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Like I have a question, useless, go for it.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Okay. So when they land and they first get there
- 25:31Speaker 3: and they're walking, they're amongst some of the creatures specifically,
- 25:35Speaker 3: like the herbivores. So does that mean they only caged
- 25:41Speaker 3: the carnivores. I believe so, because then when they go
- 25:45Speaker 3: into the ride, I was like, wait. But then when
- 25:48Speaker 3: they're in the ride, our friend Sam Neil is like, oh,
- 25:53Speaker 3: don't worry, little girl, these ones aren't going to attack us.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Let's try and call them because then they're urban.
- 25:58Speaker 2: So then I was like, wait, is the entire.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Island full of dinosaurs? But then this one enclosed piece
- 26:06Speaker 3: has like the dangerous ones and some of the dinosaurs.
- 26:10Speaker 1: I think, so okay, because I started like because that
- 26:15Speaker 1: hunter is immediately like like the raptors on fire, Yeah,
- 26:20Speaker 1: this is an abomination. They will murder us, all right,
- 26:24Speaker 1: smarter than us, they're faster than us because.
- 26:27Speaker 2: They're very adaptive, right, Yeah.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Why you would ever breed a raptor? Oh, because you
- 26:33Speaker 1: weren't a scientist who new things about raptors, like did
- 26:36Speaker 1: you see Hellan go pale from head to toe? Because
- 26:39Speaker 1: he said the word raptor and he goes, I'm sorry, yeah,
- 26:42Speaker 1: did you breed raptors?
- 26:44Speaker 3: Right?
- 26:46Speaker 2: And but the only girls, So it's fine.
- 26:49Speaker 1: It's fine, they're only the girl raptors. What could ever
- 26:53Speaker 1: go wrong? And that hunter man, I was like, hey,
- 26:57Speaker 1: maybe you know that your park should not be if
- 27:00Speaker 1: you need to have the deadliest hunter in the world
- 27:03Speaker 1: employed at your park with an assault rifle ready to
- 27:07Speaker 1: take down a raptor, right.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Correct, that was his job. Yeah, that's not a job
- 27:13Speaker 2: I would be interested in.
- 27:16Speaker 1: And and like, so I get it. I'm all four ideas.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I'm all for theme parks, but I'm also like, this
- 27:25Speaker 1: is why you need a Laura Dern to be like,
- 27:28Speaker 1: we can make Brontosaurus, we will not be making raptors.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Like no, And have you seen Chris Pratt click click
- 27:38Speaker 1: at the raptors.
- 27:40Speaker 2: I don't watch.
- 27:41Speaker 3: I haven't seen any of the Jurassic movies, friend, none
- 27:44Speaker 3: of that. And then Mario is like, oh, now you
- 27:46Speaker 3: can watch all of them, and I'm like, but Chris Pratt.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Yeah, my sworn enemy Chris Pratt in the new Jurassic
- 27:55Speaker 1: Park movies, which I go to each one because I
- 27:58Speaker 1: love dinosaurs.
- 28:00Speaker 3: M m hm.
- 28:03Speaker 1: He is the raptor trainer. He is the person who
- 28:09Speaker 1: trains the raptors, and he got the raptors to adapt
- 28:14Speaker 1: to obeying him by clicking things. So he just looks
- 28:19Speaker 1: some dead in the eye. Is this a summer and.
- 28:22Speaker 3: He clicks for me, I feel like like a dogless soul.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Huh.
- 28:28Speaker 3: I don't like it.
- 28:30Speaker 1: So then I'm watching Meg to the Trench, a perfect
- 28:33Speaker 1: disaster movie, and there's some fucking venture capitalist scientist with
- 28:39Speaker 1: an underground clicker clicking at the at the dinosaur shark,
- 28:45Speaker 1: and I'm like, fuck you, Chris Pratt. Now people think
- 28:47Speaker 1: that they can clicker dangerous animals?
- 28:52Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I just don't think that's a good move.
- 28:58Speaker 1: It really got me thinking about zoos in general, because
- 29:02Speaker 1: I was like, okay, there, like, let's piece it together.
- 29:05Speaker 1: There is probably nothing at a zoo that is as
- 29:07Speaker 1: adaptable and as fast, because I think that's what the
- 29:11Speaker 1: deadly combo is to a raptor, right, But there's probably
- 29:18Speaker 1: an animal in a zoo that is as fast as
- 29:20Speaker 1: a raptor. And then I was thinking about it and
- 29:24Speaker 1: I was like, Okay, the t rex and the raptors
- 29:27Speaker 1: clearly no contact dinosaurs like they lowered the cows in
- 29:31Speaker 1: on a crank, right. I was like, Okay, gorillas. I
- 29:35Speaker 1: know that gorillas at the zoo are no contact animal
- 29:40Speaker 1: because they're so territorial, right. But then I got to
- 29:45Speaker 1: thinking about blackfish, and I was like, remember when we
- 29:51Speaker 1: were all really pressed that the orca kept murdering its
- 29:55Speaker 1: trainers because it could not fit in the enclosure you
- 29:59Speaker 1: built for it. Right, John Hammond needed to watch blackfish
- 30:03Speaker 1: before he got a t rex involved.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 30:08Speaker 1: And then I got to thinking about about how like
- 30:10Speaker 1: open zoos are now, like do you gras just have
- 30:13Speaker 1: like open areas?
- 30:16Speaker 3: So I haven't been to the Oakland Zoo in a while,
- 30:19Speaker 3: but the one in Fresno, when the last time I
- 30:22Speaker 3: was there still felt a little closed in. But it's
- 30:27Speaker 3: been a minute since i've been there. But I will
- 30:29Speaker 3: say when we went to the one in Seattle, but
- 30:31Speaker 3: here for Mother's Day, the biggest thing that was very
- 30:36Speaker 3: impressive to me was where they kept the rhinoceros because
- 30:40Speaker 3: it was just it was this huge open space. But
- 30:43Speaker 3: then also it was like fifty feet below all of us.
- 30:47Speaker 3: It just was like you had to look over a
- 30:49Speaker 3: ledge and it's like this open field. Because to your
- 30:52Speaker 3: point about like what's scary and fast and can murder.
- 30:56Speaker 3: It's a rhinoceris unpacked.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Oh this is what I should have been thinking about.
- 31:02Speaker 3: I go there, people to realize they're fast because they're
- 31:04Speaker 3: so big.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the same with hippos on the bottom of
- 31:07Speaker 1: the river. Yeah, everyone, don't love don't YouTube video. No,
- 31:13Speaker 1: it wasn't a hippo because hippos would have had a
- 31:15Speaker 1: water source.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Maybe hold on, because I just.
- 31:21Speaker 3: I think it was actually a hippo because the guy
- 31:24Speaker 3: who was the in person in charge of that cage
- 31:29Speaker 3: cage enclosure enclosure was was from somewhere where they are
- 31:36Speaker 3: lousy with hippos, and like he was like a specialist
- 31:39Speaker 3: or something.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Specialist.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, and he like people would make jokes about
- 31:45Speaker 3: like people were making really stupid, ignorant jokes. And then
- 31:48Speaker 3: finally he was like, you would not survive a hippo.
- 31:52Speaker 3: They run over humans for fun, for they think it's funny.
- 31:56Speaker 3: So if you would like to try, I can't lead
- 32:00Speaker 3: tell you to do it, but I could turn around.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Everyone, it'll be the most fun you've ever had.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Everyone.
- 32:06Speaker 1: At the end of our show, you put right into
- 32:09Speaker 1: your Google search bar. Hippos attacking boats, and you just
- 32:14Speaker 1: watch those hippos get like people are just driving their
- 32:17Speaker 1: little fan boats yep, and the rivers and the swamps
- 32:21Speaker 1: where hippos are, and then you just see one slowly
- 32:26Speaker 1: emerge with its eyes and be like, is that a
- 32:28Speaker 1: fucking boat in my river? And then it dives down
- 32:32Speaker 1: real quick and it runs, jumps up for air, goes
- 32:35Speaker 1: back down, runs. It's the most ridiculous thing you've ever seen.
- 32:39Speaker 1: And the entire time you're like, those people are gonna die.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Yeah, now I know it is hippos because we were
- 32:46Speaker 3: talking about Draassic Park and I was visualizing Jurassic Park
- 32:49Speaker 3: when I started the story, so I just assumed rhino,
- 32:51Speaker 3: but no, it was hippo.
- 32:53Speaker 1: So but here's a fun fact a hip about rhinos.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Because I had to start thinking, I was like, ever
- 33:00Speaker 1: zoo animal, it has to be at some point beneficial
- 33:06Speaker 1: enough for them that they don't go ham on us.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Because rhinoceroses, i found out, can charge so fast and
- 33:17Speaker 1: get so much momentum and power behind them that there
- 33:21Speaker 1: is not a metal of stone or anything on earth
- 33:25Speaker 1: that could actually contain a rhino, right, which we wanted
- 33:28Speaker 1: to get out, which.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Makes absolute perfect sense considering where rhinoceros are indigenous to,
- 33:35Speaker 3: and like the type of conditions they live under, Like,
- 33:39Speaker 3: there's a reason why animals are existing the way they exist,
- 33:43Speaker 3: because it's you know, survival, right.
- 33:47Speaker 1: So I was thinking about it and I was like, shit,
- 33:51Speaker 1: you really like the reason why Blackfish was murdering people
- 33:57Speaker 1: is because he was no longer chill with the settings
- 34:00Speaker 1: you had provided for it, right. Instead of doing something
- 34:03Speaker 1: about that, you were like, it's easier for a thousand
- 34:06Speaker 1: people to see you this way, though, Bud eight more
- 34:09Speaker 1: shows it's.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Like an acceptable version of imprisonment, because when you think
- 34:13Speaker 3: about being in prison, it's you're in these really tiny
- 34:17Speaker 3: you're in a cell, it's the conditions are mediocre at best.
- 34:22Speaker 3: You know you're eventually gonna lose your fucking mind. I
- 34:24Speaker 3: mean people in solitary confinement, people do lose their minds.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Hey, we learned a couple of months ago that Penelope
- 34:31Speaker 1: also has to be in some sort of consensual relationship
- 34:34Speaker 1: with our dynamic because she tried to murder me out
- 34:39Speaker 1: of anxiety, right, and she was almost pretty successful.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Mm hmmmm hmm.
- 34:45Speaker 2: So again very scary time.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Again, it's just like I I don't know what it
- 34:51Speaker 1: is about my brain or what movies I watched when
- 34:55Speaker 1: I was a child, or what I was taught in school,
- 34:58Speaker 1: but I've always understood the pattern and the behaviors of animals,
- 35:02Speaker 1: and I have always been floored that people do not
- 35:05Speaker 1: know what to do in the presence of an animal.
- 35:08Speaker 3: It's like, so, you know, I just read Water for
- 35:10Speaker 3: Elephants and watched the movie for an oncoming episode of
- 35:13Speaker 3: Jellypop's Book Club, and like, it never occurred to anybody
- 35:18Speaker 3: that this elephant doesn't speak English and all they do
- 35:22Speaker 3: is just fucking beat it repeatedly, and then it gets
- 35:25Speaker 3: mad because it's being beaten. You know, they should have clicked,
- 35:29Speaker 3: they just clicked.
- 35:30Speaker 1: They should just clicked.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Yeah, And so it's like it's like this assumption that
- 35:35Speaker 3: animals aren't intelligent, that we're the superior being, which is
- 35:40Speaker 3: just so flawed.
- 35:41Speaker 1: And Laura Dern goes into that when John Hammond's just
- 35:44Speaker 1: like eating jello and she's like, hey, my brother, people
- 35:49Speaker 1: are dying in your park and he's like, I paid
- 35:53Speaker 1: so much for this, like scream and she's like, I
- 35:57Speaker 1: hear you. We know you're a venture capitalist. She's like
- 36:03Speaker 1: this is all your design. You did not understand the
- 36:06Speaker 1: power of these beans, and then once you did understand it,
- 36:10Speaker 1: you refused to respect it.
- 36:13Speaker 3: It's like Elon Musk buying Twitter.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Damn, because that is a beast that Elon cannot tame.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Damn slam as one of our good friends would say,
- 36:28Speaker 1: that's a slam slam.
- 36:30Speaker 3: I I'm such a door. I did a slam so.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Again, like in theory, the tying up of the lamb
- 36:41Speaker 1: so that the t rex would stay fed and not
- 36:44Speaker 1: chomp its electric fence down right, because there's no there's
- 36:49Speaker 1: no way there was enough electricity running through that fence
- 36:52Speaker 1: if the boy's heart could restart to take down a
- 36:56Speaker 1: t rex.
- 36:57Speaker 2: How big are t rexes?
- 36:58Speaker 3: It said it was ten thousand, and I was like, wait,
- 37:02Speaker 3: I don't understand. How is how is ten thousand volts
- 37:07Speaker 3: not going to kill this tiny, tiny child? Movie made
- 37:11Speaker 3: in theory is supposed to contain a t Rex x
- 37:15Speaker 3: t rex movie magic movie magic, So I understand the like, well,
- 37:20Speaker 3: we tied to go up so it wouldn't be hungry, so.
- 37:25Speaker 1: It wouldn't eat us. And Alan's like, okay, that's real cool.
- 37:30Speaker 1: T Rexes don't just want a midnight snack. They actually
- 37:35Speaker 1: want to hunt. It's the only thing that makes them
- 37:37Speaker 1: feel like they're doing a good job.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Do you think that he was basically starved into.
- 37:45Speaker 2: This the t rex rex? Yeah, he was starved.
- 37:49Speaker 1: He was bred into this. But I think that's part
- 37:52Speaker 1: of it.
- 37:52Speaker 3: I mean, like, because they're only giving him a goat
- 37:55Speaker 3: or a cow or a sheep once a day, that
- 37:58Speaker 3: he's become hungry for it because it's now contained on someone.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Else's schedule versus Yeah.
- 38:07Speaker 1: And should the instinct and should the lions ever break
- 38:11Speaker 1: out of any of the zoos that I am a
- 38:12Speaker 1: customer of and they start going ham, I'm gonna be like,
- 38:16Speaker 1: that makes sense because they're predators, right, animal instinct?
- 38:21Speaker 3: Right?
- 38:22Speaker 2: Yeah, there was What was it?
- 38:23Speaker 3: He said? Sam Neil said, if you don't move, he
- 38:28Speaker 3: can't see us. And I was like, that's a good
- 38:32Speaker 3: tip to know. What else what other predators? If we
- 38:35Speaker 3: don't move, they can't see us.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I think alligators and crocodiles have really bad eyesight.
- 38:43Speaker 3: Okay, I mean like, don't try it. I'm never gone
- 38:47Speaker 3: to swampy area.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Because I honestly think it's the position of the t
- 38:52Speaker 1: rex's eyes in its face, and I don't think they're
- 38:55Speaker 1: like blind. I just truly believe that they have like
- 38:58Speaker 1: no peripheral vision.
- 39:01Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 39:02Speaker 1: I'm not a scientist.
- 39:05Speaker 3: Like if it's not moving, they don't know that it's
- 39:07Speaker 3: potentially prey. Yeah, like it's not alive if it's not moving.
- 39:12Speaker 1: But once again, I have to chalk it up, all right,
- 39:14Speaker 1: so they eat to the egos of men or just
- 39:18Speaker 1: being like I could control a dinosaur.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Yeah it really, yeah, truly.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Why couldn't I colonize a dinosaur? I don't understand me
- 39:32Speaker 1: the son of Nation Steelers be thwarted by a raptor?
- 39:38Speaker 1: Make that makes sense.
- 39:39Speaker 3: It's like.
- 39:41Speaker 1: It truly is so egotistical to think that any of us,
- 39:45Speaker 1: including us with pets, have any sort of like upper hand.
- 39:51Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like you know when people who do own
- 39:54Speaker 3: wild animals as pets and then they get murdered by
- 39:58Speaker 3: their pet, by their pets, you're just like, it's not funny.
- 40:02Speaker 3: It's actually really tragic and sad. And also we kind
- 40:05Speaker 3: of knew that outcome was coming, right.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sorry, are you talking about the b plot.
- 40:10Speaker 1: To Nope, the entire time the first time they saw
- 40:14Speaker 1: that monkey.
- 40:15Speaker 2: I was like, Okay, here it is. I haven't seen Nope,
- 40:17Speaker 2: you know this.
- 40:18Speaker 1: What do you mean you haven't seen Nope. I thought
- 40:20Speaker 1: we made you see it.
- 40:23Speaker 3: No, Mario's trying to get me to see it for
- 40:26Speaker 3: the upcoming segment you guys are doing. I thought we
- 40:32Speaker 3: made you see it.
- 40:34Speaker 1: I thought you went after. I went, okay, fine, well
- 40:38Speaker 1: there's a monkey.
- 40:39Speaker 3: Well there's a monkey and a plot. Listen, you can
- 40:43Speaker 3: ruin it for me because Mario wants me to see
- 40:45Speaker 3: it because he's like, here's a list of movies. Will
- 40:47Speaker 3: these stress you out? And I'm just like like, yeah,
- 40:50Speaker 3: did you see how I reacted during Juraffic bark Well?
- 40:54Speaker 1: But he tried to ask me if they would stress
- 40:56Speaker 1: you out? And I was like, I have a broken
- 40:58Speaker 1: gauge because I love it. I think the megs are
- 41:02Speaker 1: perfect movies.
- 41:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it's so funny, I will know.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Problem is.
- 41:09Speaker 3: The problem is is the older I get, the more
- 41:10Speaker 3: sensitive I'm getting because I'm able to control my input more.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Oh right, Like when you're in your.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Twenties and you're like, I'm having a good time, let's
- 41:19Speaker 3: have good life to do all these things, You're just
- 41:21Speaker 3: like let's do all this stuff. And now that I'm
- 41:23Speaker 3: the age that I am, I'm just like, I don't
- 41:25Speaker 3: do shit I don't want to do.
- 41:30Speaker 2: But yeah, just like.
- 41:32Speaker 1: The egos that we have to be like those lions
- 41:36Speaker 1: are perfectly happy with us, perfectly fine. I went and
- 41:43Speaker 1: saw that Beast movie with Adri's album What did I
- 41:46Speaker 1: Tell You? I go That movie was better than it
- 41:47Speaker 1: had any right to be.
- 41:50Speaker 2: I will not eat.
- 41:51Speaker 3: It doesn't matter how hot eadris Elba is.
- 41:53Speaker 2: I will not.
- 41:55Speaker 3: When I go for my walks in the morning and
- 41:57Speaker 3: I see people walking their creatures and they have dogs
- 42:01Speaker 3: that like on their hind legs are taller than them,
- 42:03Speaker 3: and but yet they like tie their the leash. They
- 42:07Speaker 3: have a like a waste leash that hooks to them,
- 42:09Speaker 3: that hooks to the creature.
- 42:11Speaker 2: And I'm just like, girl, you're dead. You're dead.
- 42:14Speaker 3: If that dog decides to have an animalistic break, that's
- 42:17Speaker 3: it for you. Because it is taller than you and
- 42:19Speaker 3: it probably weighs more.
- 42:22Speaker 1: It's gonna rip you into h I will say that
- 42:30Speaker 1: I did almost cry when what part when Alan and
- 42:36Speaker 1: Ellie got to see life dinosaurs.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Oh in the beginning, in the beginning, when they first
- 42:43Speaker 3: get there.
- 42:44Speaker 1: And they're like, oh my god. And I was like,
- 42:46Speaker 1: oh my god, what must that feel like to work
- 42:52Speaker 1: your entire career going. I know that the limits of
- 42:55Speaker 1: my science is I will study the bones. I will
- 43:00Speaker 1: make assumptions about what the bones and how they are
- 43:03Speaker 1: all put together mean about their prey tendencies and things
- 43:07Speaker 1: like that. But we would we would never know, right
- 43:10Speaker 1: because all of the dinosaurs are.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Our body except for birds.
- 43:16Speaker 3: And maybe the meg.
- 43:22Speaker 1: What if the megs just the one whispering up to
- 43:24Speaker 1: the orcas?
- 43:25Speaker 3: Yeah, these yachts do not need to be in our water.
- 43:33Speaker 3: And then he just slowly sinks back into the terra
- 43:36Speaker 3: plane but separates our ocean from the Jurassic ocean.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Jason Stantium, give me a call. We can make
- 43:48Speaker 1: an Orca a Meg movie. I hope that we get
- 43:51Speaker 1: as many Meg movies.
- 43:53Speaker 2: As we have job movies. Are there STOs movies?
- 43:59Speaker 1: How many did we get it?
- 44:01Speaker 3: Three? More than three?
- 44:03Speaker 2: I don't know. It feels like we were only more
- 44:07Speaker 2: Jaw movies.
- 44:09Speaker 3: And before it doesn't matter to continue.
- 44:12Speaker 1: I know ones in three d Oh, Well now I've
- 44:18Speaker 1: lost it and now you're googling.
- 44:20Speaker 3: All right, Okay, yeah, Job jos three, Yeah, Jaws nineteen
- 44:26Speaker 3: seventy five, Jaws two nineteen seventy eight, Jaws three D
- 44:30Speaker 3: nineteen eighty three, and Jaws The Revenge nineteen eighty seven.
- 44:34Speaker 1: So I hope The Mugs become the new Avengers movie.
- 44:37Speaker 1: Ever sum every summer new Meg. This one had a
- 44:41Speaker 1: crack in. I was real into it, and honestly, I
- 44:46Speaker 1: could have seen more of the crack in. I really
- 44:48Speaker 1: feel like they underutilize cracking.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Wait, isn't that the animated one, the krack in? No?
- 44:57Speaker 3: Or the Meg? I'm I'm let's let's talk about Jurassic Park,
- 45:02Speaker 3: because I clearly walked into territory I know nothing about.
- 45:07Speaker 3: The Meg is another movie that's too scary for you.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Yes, that's what I'm saying. It has Jason Statum in it.
- 45:14Speaker 1: There are two of them. The second one has the
- 45:17Speaker 1: second one has a crack in. It's very exciting because.
- 45:20Speaker 3: I remember the trailer. There's a scene or she's like, no,
- 45:23Speaker 3: this glass is mag proof, and then the fucker comes
- 45:25Speaker 3: through it and you're just like you opened that door
- 45:28Speaker 3: man loud.
- 45:30Speaker 2: Oh.
- 45:31Speaker 1: There was a cartoon this summer that I wanted to
- 45:34Speaker 1: see and no one else was into that was called
- 45:36Speaker 1: like my teenage cracking or something.
- 45:38Speaker 3: What I got Christine fond of voice to the Grandma.
- 45:41Speaker 3: So it's like, wait, is there something about that that
- 45:44Speaker 3: I missed? Okay, so I would.
- 45:47Speaker 2: I was like, oh my god.
- 45:49Speaker 1: I go to think that you've reached the limits of
- 45:51Speaker 1: your knowledge and the limits of your career, and you've
- 45:55Speaker 1: accepted it. You've accepted that that is your role, that
- 45:58Speaker 1: will always be your role to just make assumptions to
- 46:00Speaker 1: what dinosaurs will do. And then you're handed by some
- 46:04Speaker 1: insane venture capitalists.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Yeah, a park where the.
- 46:08Speaker 1: Dinosaurs are roaming free, and you were like, yes, what
- 46:12Speaker 1: a great scientific situation. And then you've got doctor Ian
- 46:17Speaker 1: Malcolm who's like, I love science, but we are all
- 46:20Speaker 1: going to die. Yeah, we are all going to die
- 46:25Speaker 1: because it is a beautiful moment when your life's work
- 46:27Speaker 1: comes to fruition in a way that you never could imagine. Totally.
- 46:35Speaker 3: I also do work with terrifying creatures.
- 46:40Speaker 1: You probably don't watch a lot of disaster movies, so
- 46:42Speaker 1: you probably do not understand that in the format.
- 46:45Speaker 2: No, because I've had to do disaster work.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Same, Uh, why would I want to watch it fictionalize?
- 46:55Speaker 1: I loved my sister and I get so hyped for
- 46:58Speaker 1: a disaster movie. Yes, we went and saw that. Like
- 47:03Speaker 1: the whole promise of the movie is that the Rock
- 47:08Speaker 1: Dwayne the Rock Johnson is an a skyscraper and it's
- 47:11Speaker 1: on fire and it's three hours of that And I
- 47:15Speaker 1: fell asleep during it.
- 47:17Speaker 2: Woke up it was still going on, and.
- 47:21Speaker 1: My brother and I asked my sister what did I miss?
- 47:25Speaker 3: And she was like, like, I could tell you right, And.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Then my brother in law had to explain to us
- 47:30Speaker 1: the fake science they made up on the way home.
- 47:33Speaker 1: But my favorite part of disaster movies is they always
- 47:38Speaker 1: make up science to back up whatever is going to happen.
- 47:41Speaker 3: Absolutely and it probably And so, like I told you,
- 47:44Speaker 3: I'm a family member who's a marine biologist, like a
- 47:47Speaker 3: legitimate like that's her job. And she'll like she loves
- 47:51Speaker 3: all kinds of stuff, but sometimes when we're watching things,
- 47:53Speaker 3: she'll have to like pause, now here's the you know,
- 47:57Speaker 3: and like correct it and then play and we're just
- 47:59Speaker 3: like that sets out of your system. You had to
- 48:01Speaker 3: get that out of your system. You couldn't let us
- 48:03Speaker 3: just watch the movie first.
- 48:05Speaker 1: It's my favorite because I'm gonna be honest, I watch
- 48:09Speaker 1: a lot of shows where there are where science plays
- 48:12Speaker 1: a part in whatever is happening, because science plays a
- 48:16Speaker 1: part and everything. But only disaster movies truly go the
- 48:20Speaker 1: extra mile to be like, we are going to teach
- 48:22Speaker 1: you some fake bullshit science that we ourselves made up, Like, yeah,
- 48:27Speaker 1: you can make dinosaurs out of frogs, why wouldn't you
- 48:30Speaker 1: be able to?
- 48:31Speaker 3: Yeah, that makes perfect sense, that makes perfect sense. Amphibians.
- 48:34Speaker 3: It's with this much.
- 48:35Speaker 2: Blood out of a mosquito.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Thank God for amber, right, it's saving grace, saving grace.
- 48:43Speaker 1: You can click out a velociraptor.
- 48:45Speaker 3: Hey, Mario's in the hell you can You can click
- 48:50Speaker 3: a click out of velociraptor, and that is behavior management
- 48:54Speaker 3: for a dinosaur.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Why wouldn't it be fake science?
- 48:59Speaker 3: In the med even click out a child to get
- 49:02Speaker 3: it to do what I needed to do.
- 49:09Speaker 2: You just got called out.
- 49:11Speaker 3: That is not okay. I love fun asking ask Mario
- 49:15Speaker 3: how many parties I've invited him to and he hasn't
- 49:18Speaker 3: shown up.
- 49:20Speaker 2: We don't watch Jurassic Park.
- 49:22Speaker 3: I was wondering.
- 49:24Speaker 1: I was wondering why I got my own separate shout out.
- 49:27Speaker 2: I was like, oh, that's weird.
- 49:28Speaker 1: We're doing it separate, but I enjoy it because it's
- 49:31Speaker 1: more comments going into the going into the algorithm.
- 49:35Speaker 3: It helps with the algorithm. So I appreciate that.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Mario, Mario, would you like to know some of the
- 49:43Speaker 1: fake science from the Meg?
- 49:45Speaker 2: Because the Meg has perfect fake science. Is it related
- 49:48Speaker 2: to Jurassic Park?
- 49:49Speaker 1: Yes, because the Meg is a dinosaur shark.
- 49:52Speaker 2: Okay, go ahead.
- 49:53Speaker 1: So the reason why the Meg could be in the
- 49:59Speaker 1: sea without anyone knowing about it, a giant dinosaur shark
- 50:03Speaker 1: that survived since the Jurassic period, is because what we
- 50:08Speaker 1: perceive as the bottom of the ocean is not the
- 50:11Speaker 1: bottom of the ocean. It is instead a layer of
- 50:14Speaker 1: thick atmosphere that we have misread as the bottom of
- 50:18Speaker 1: the ocean, and the Meg and a bunch of other
- 50:21Speaker 1: really insane shit lives underneath it. So how did it
- 50:26Speaker 1: get out from underneath it? Oh? Men are violent, and
- 50:32Speaker 1: Oh the beautiful thing about megs the Meg movies is
- 50:35Speaker 1: that they are all about ocean conservation. So like Jason
- 50:39Speaker 1: Stainum will buy a giant.
- 50:41Speaker 3: Shark because he's like, we will not destroy the seas
- 50:45Speaker 3: for profit, And he's like a pirate that goes on
- 50:48Speaker 3: the oil riggers and like destroys their stuff. Oh so anyways,
- 50:56Speaker 3: so some men through like a bomb or something. They
- 51:00Speaker 3: were doing something in the ocean and it created a rift,
- 51:03Speaker 3: and up came the Meg. Yeah, oh god, it's beautiful.
- 51:07Speaker 1: Second point of fake science from the Meg that I
- 51:10Speaker 1: wonderfully enjoyed. In the second Man, we watch a woman's
- 51:16Speaker 1: head implode like the guys from the Titanic sum and science,
- 51:24Speaker 1: and oh, Jason Statum has to be in a Jurassic
- 51:27Speaker 1: Park movie. I'm going to call him.
- 51:30Speaker 3: Hey, we'll make him do an American accent though, sorry,
- 51:32Speaker 3: go ahead, rail So Meg Science continue.
- 51:35Speaker 1: We're under the sea. We are so far under the
- 51:38Speaker 1: sea that someone's head has already imploded in their suit
- 51:42Speaker 1: because their suits stopped depressurizing. But then a bad guy
- 51:47Speaker 1: in our under the sea base camp has stolen our
- 51:51Speaker 1: powerful suits. So Jason Statum is like, I know I
- 51:56Speaker 1: can still swim out there and manually hit the lot.
- 52:00Speaker 1: And then the twelve year old who came along on
- 52:02Speaker 1: the ride because no one's ever watching kids, she says,
- 52:06Speaker 1: what about the pressure, You'll implode And I'll be like, yeah,
- 52:09Speaker 1: Titanic sub And then some other lady goes, it's not
- 52:15Speaker 1: about the pressure. It's about the oxygen contained in his body.
- 52:20Speaker 1: If he breathes out all of the oxygen in his body,
- 52:24Speaker 1: he will not implode. So he literally huffs like a
- 52:28Speaker 1: bowl through his nose until there is no oxygen in
- 52:32Speaker 1: his body and his nose bleeds a little, and he's
- 52:37Speaker 1: able to just swim like you would in a swimming
- 52:40Speaker 1: pool at the bottom of the sea.
- 52:43Speaker 2: This is not real.
- 52:44Speaker 3: It's my favorite. It's my favorite.
- 52:47Speaker 1: So many people annoyed by the fake science, but I'm like, no,
- 52:50Speaker 1: it's movie magic. You have to create fake science to
- 52:54Speaker 1: figure out how fake dinosaurs came into play.
- 52:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I just I feel like fake science hurts my head.
- 53:03Speaker 3: I love it.
- 53:04Speaker 1: I love fake disaster movie science. I also this is
- 53:08Speaker 1: also my favorite part of any disaster movie.
- 53:10Speaker 2: Tell me, if it is a disaster.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Movie containing an animal, that animal is always going to
- 53:18Speaker 1: make petty murders, even though you're thinking, why would an
- 53:22Speaker 1: animal get petty? But they always make it so like
- 53:25Speaker 1: Newman gets eaten because he tells the dinosaur that it's
- 53:30Speaker 1: dumb and it can't read or something right, So that
- 53:33Speaker 1: dinosaur is like.
- 53:34Speaker 3: I'm a fuck you up. And then the guy in
- 53:37Speaker 3: the in the toilet.
- 53:38Speaker 1: Stall gets eaten because he told the kids buy and
- 53:43Speaker 1: love them to be eaten by the t rex. So
- 53:45Speaker 1: the t rex was like, if it isn't the consequences
- 53:48Speaker 1: of your own actions or in action, and he eats him.
- 53:52Speaker 1: I'm like, I love the.
- 53:54Speaker 4: Justice system in disaster movie go ahead, because it's always
- 54:01Speaker 4: bigcause asshole that gets eaten first because the megs like
- 54:04Speaker 4: not today.
- 54:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think I'm starting to understand why
- 54:09Speaker 3: I'm very risk adverse because.
- 54:11Speaker 2: Even though, like I didn't see.
- 54:12Speaker 3: Jurassic Park, I have, like this whole disaster movie thing
- 54:17Speaker 3: is a thing that exists within the house where I
- 54:20Speaker 3: was raised, and even though like I didn't watch them directly,
- 54:24Speaker 3: I still heard them. I love.
- 54:28Speaker 1: I love disaster movies.
- 54:31Speaker 3: Think about it.
- 54:32Speaker 1: There's even a pett There's there's even pettiness in the
- 54:36Speaker 1: Titanic disaster movie. Yeah, that's because Billy Zane is like,
- 54:40Speaker 1: why would I wait for the Atlantic to freeze? Leonardo
- 54:44Speaker 1: DiCaprio like a popsicle when I've got I'm still myself
- 54:48Speaker 1: and the boat's going down and people are waiting and swimming,
- 54:52Speaker 1: and Billy Zane's like, ah.
- 54:55Speaker 3: And the audacity for him to believe that after he's
- 54:58Speaker 3: done that, he we'll still get on a rescue boat.
- 55:02Speaker 1: He will still get on a rescue boat.
- 55:05Speaker 2: He does, he gets rescued. I know, it's so upsetting.
- 55:10Speaker 3: Like James Cameron, you couldn't at least have given us
- 55:12Speaker 3: him also going down with the music.
- 55:15Speaker 1: Right, So why does Jason Statum never get eaten by
- 55:17Speaker 1: the meg because he respects the ocean?
- 55:21Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 55:21Speaker 1: Why did Alan Ellie and doctor Ian Malcolm not get
- 55:26Speaker 1: eaten because they didn't go out of their way to
- 55:29Speaker 1: piss off the dinosaurs?
- 55:31Speaker 3: Right? And also Jeff Goldwin was laid up in a
- 55:34Speaker 3: room because he was injured, just panting like I didn't
- 55:40Speaker 3: realize how little he actually did inside the park. Yeah,
- 55:45Speaker 3: do you know what I mean? Like I was expecting
- 55:47Speaker 3: him to also be wielding a weapon, trying to do
- 55:51Speaker 3: all these things, but no, he's on a metal table injured.
- 55:55Speaker 1: He has at one moment when he's waving the torch.
- 55:58Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, yes, that's.
- 56:01Speaker 1: How he gets drenched in rain. That's why I'm going
- 56:03Speaker 1: to have to be posed down for Halloween.
- 56:06Speaker 3: No, I haven't read the book, but I do really
- 56:08Speaker 3: actually want to now because Michael Crichton wrote the screenplay
- 56:12Speaker 3: as well as the book, so that leads me to
- 56:14Speaker 3: believe this is a very good adaptation.
- 56:17Speaker 2: Probably.
- 56:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I read high school Fielberg. I think
- 56:24Speaker 1: I read the book, and I think it was in
- 56:25Speaker 1: high school. I know that I was assigned to read
- 56:28Speaker 1: The Time Machine, which.
- 56:31Speaker 3: Is also by him. Okay, and we watched that shitty movie,
- 56:35Speaker 3: and he's written millions of books. It feels like like, sir,
- 56:38Speaker 3: what haven't you written?
- 56:41Speaker 1: Who's to say, but Jules, we're getting down to five minutes,
- 56:44Speaker 1: so I guess we should discuss how comfortable you are
- 56:48Speaker 1: knowing that Jurassic Park made my comfort movie list.
- 56:53Speaker 3: I you know, friend, if I didn't know you, i'd
- 56:57Speaker 3: be concerned.
- 56:59Speaker 1: I'm broken. And I was wildly unsupervised as a child.
- 57:04Speaker 1: Sometimes I was supervised as a child, and they're like,
- 57:06Speaker 1: do you want to watch Jurassic Park four year old?
- 57:11Speaker 3: Mm hmmm.
- 57:13Speaker 2: I just feel like that's a lot.
- 57:15Speaker 3: It is a lot.
- 57:16Speaker 2: It's a lot.
- 57:17Speaker 3: I'm a grown ass woman, and I would did a
- 57:21Speaker 3: lot of like, well, I need to go pace in
- 57:22Speaker 3: the kitchen while these noises do what they need to
- 57:25Speaker 3: do the thing about.
- 57:27Speaker 1: Jurassic Park is I was watching it on FREEB and
- 57:31Speaker 1: Freeby didn't try to do any remastering of the sound,
- 57:35Speaker 1: so the dialogue would be this soft, and I was like,
- 57:39Speaker 1: I'm deaf as hell. I cannot hear what the scientists
- 57:43Speaker 1: are saying. And then the dinosaurs would they done that?
- 57:48Speaker 2: And the commercials too, I don't know if you had that.
- 57:50Speaker 3: It was like I can't.
- 57:53Speaker 2: It was a lot.
- 57:53Speaker 3: And then on FREEV it was like fourteen hours longer
- 57:56Speaker 3: because of the amount of commercials, and I was just like,
- 57:58Speaker 3: I could have been done by now, Like I put
- 58:01Speaker 3: this on three hours ago and I'm twenty minutes into
- 58:04Speaker 3: the movie.
- 58:06Speaker 1: So I will say that if you are a person
- 58:10Speaker 1: who loves Jurassic Park and you haven't watched it in
- 58:13Speaker 1: a hot decade because you don't like being disappointed by
- 58:16Speaker 1: things you once loved, I get it.
- 58:18Speaker 2: Jurassic Park still holds up.
- 58:20Speaker 3: I think it holds up too, like I would not.
- 58:23Speaker 2: There was a great story.
- 58:25Speaker 3: There wasn't anything about it that was like ooh or
- 58:29Speaker 3: like cool, you know what I mean, Like, yeah, we've
- 58:32Speaker 3: watched stuff where it's like, oh, we forgot about that,
- 58:34Speaker 3: but we still like it. But really, yeah, but this
- 58:39Speaker 3: isn't one of those things where It's like this is
- 58:41Speaker 3: like a like Laura Dern wasn't over sexualized in any way,
- 58:45Speaker 3: shape or form like that. Really, that was really impressive
- 58:48Speaker 3: to me too, because they really could have gone that
- 58:51Speaker 3: way if they wanted to. She's stalls younger than everybody
- 58:54Speaker 3: else in the movie. Yeah.
- 58:56Speaker 1: Also, I looked this up because my sister said the
- 58:59Speaker 1: CG really holds up, and I go, there's no way
- 59:02Speaker 1: that this movie is CGI, because CGI ruins everything for me.
- 59:06Speaker 1: So I looked it up. There are only six minutes
- 59:08Speaker 1: worth of CGI in the movie and the rest of
- 59:11Speaker 1: it is just practical effects.
- 59:13Speaker 2: Yeah, and a study.
- 59:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I believe that because you usually can tell, especially
- 59:18Speaker 3: in the nineties.
- 59:20Speaker 1: Laura durn was also one of my first crushes and
- 59:22Speaker 1: one of my.
- 59:22Speaker 3: Lungest last few years.
- 59:24Speaker 1: That's cute. Maybe Jurassic Park was my by awakening where
- 59:29Speaker 1: I was like, I want to hug je I want
- 59:31Speaker 1: to rest against Jeff Goldbloom, but I also kind of
- 59:34Speaker 1: want to be hugging Laura Dern.
- 59:35Speaker 3: At the same time. That's so funny.
- 59:40Speaker 1: Happy thirty year anniversary, Jurassic Park. Good for you for
- 59:44Speaker 1: having some of the best practical effects in the biz. Yeah,
- 59:48Speaker 1: it makes me miss when we used to actually make
- 59:51Speaker 1: stuff for movies.
- 59:54Speaker 3: Yeah. We actually had this conversation today in a group
- 59:57Speaker 3: that I'm in, where like c g I, VFX really
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: depends on who's doing it, because people when I when
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: I ruined everybody by telling him that Ted Lasso is
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: like all VFX, but like you have no idea, you
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: have no idea until you see like a behind the
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: scenes without the VFX laid over.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: I have not been at the Jurassic World ride at
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Universal Studios. It is on my notes that dinosaurs are
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: scary as hell, and I wouldn't right ride the Countdown
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: to Extinction ride at disney World, and it was a
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: disney World ride, but I knew that that fucking ride
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: was going to end with a t Rex trying to
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: eat you, and I was like anxiety. I've never been
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: to Universal because all of their rides seemed very stressful.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: Like jobs, tries to eat you puts you in the movie,
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: puts you in the movie.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: So no, I eventually did so. The first time I
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: went to disney World, I was in the fourth grade.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: The next time I went to Disney World, I was
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: a sophomore in high school, and I believe someone bullied
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: me into the cowdown to extinction, right.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: They were like, ye ain't don time. Daryl was a
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: ground nut, You're not gonna do it at that time.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: And I'm like, dinosaurs are scary, and I literally just
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: like head in me screamed the entire time. I don't
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: want a dinosaur in my face. I don't want it.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the main, the main, the t rex noises
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: wouldn't be possible without a very loud recording of a
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: baby elephant making elephant noises. Isn't that cute? Yeah, it's
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: a compilation of like twenty two things, but the biggest
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: noise is the baby elephant.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: That is cute.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: I love elephants.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: Well, Jules, thanks for surviving Jurassic Park barely. Honestly, if
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: you had told me that you had never seen this
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: movie before, I probably would have still told you, Oh yeah,
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: it's a fine movie. It's chill dinosaurs. Man, it's like
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: the Star Wars but with dinosaurs. Oh I don't And
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: then you would have had to scream at me, and
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: then I would have watched it going, oh shit, it's
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: like it, but with dinosaurs. That is how scary this is.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: It's scary, so you did it, good job. Would you
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: ever watch it again? No?
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Yeah, that's how I am with Logan. One panic attack
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: too many during a movie and I'm like, I'm never
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: watching this movie again.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Some movies that are intense.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: Once I know all the beats and what happens, then
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: I might go back and watch it again because in
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: the tension, then I know I can get through that.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: When I'm getting through the tension when it's you know,
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: all that stuff. But anything that has a jump scare,
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: I can't go back and watch Hereditary.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: I could watch Hereditary three times a day for the
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: rest of my life.
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: You know how many times that movie comes up in
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: films to be buried with is the scariest movie on
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: the planet, but really good. Like everyone's like this movie
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: is fucking amazing, but it terrified the shit out of me.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: Give Tony Kollett her Oscar. We need to rectify that. Yeah,
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: I would watch Hereditary three times a day for the
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: rest of my life. Now you will never catch me
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: watching that fucking Logan movie about Wolverine and Professor X
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: having dementia and the funeral of wolver You'll never catch
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: I cried to the point of panic. In that movie
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: so hard.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: I went.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: I left the movie going that was great. That is
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: probably single handedly the best they'll ever do at an
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: X Men movie, because I personally think X Men only
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: works as a mini series.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: Or a cartoon.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: H I go and I will never watch it again.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: And someone tried to pull it up and I immediately
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: went into panic breastlet again and I was like, I
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: can't do logan.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: It's too sad.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it's my childhood be murdered before my eyes. No
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: one needs it, nobody wants that.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: I'm sad.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Well, Jules, tell the people what's coming up, including us
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: to me, Hey, everyone, the next movie that Jewels and
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: I get to talk about is the scariest yet sexiest
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: cartoon you'll ever see, and it's The Hunchback of Notre Dom.

- 1:06:24Speaker 2: Oh good, Okay, this is gonna be interesting.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: Oh my god. If you hate this movie and you
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: tell me you hate this movie, I will cry.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: I usually have a better attitude about rom coms that
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: that feature what I would consider basically normal looking people
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: like Tom Hanks.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: And right, yeah, they are normal looking people, which I appreciate,
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: which makes it more endearing.
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: I think.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: Yeah, the perfect rom com that I've ever seen, And
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: I know Sleepless in Seattle is yours, but mine is
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: One Day. No, that's a sad one, one fine day,
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: fine day.
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: Yeah, that's yes, that is a good one.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Sleep listen.
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: Seattle isn't my favorite oncom, but it isn't my top.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: Oh that's right, Harry. When Harry met Sally, another one
