  Penitent here because this is a story that has that has been in

  the news for a couple. Weeks and this It is the story

  of this man, a man named Jonathan Gerlach.

  Gerlach from Pennsylvania, who has been charged with almost by

  my count anyway, from the the cases that I've found on the
• 2:26
  Unified Judicial System website, almost 500 counts, 500 separate
• 2:34
  counts against him. And, and, and apparently this
• 2:43
  guy has just a thing. He just likes to go to a very
• 2:47
  specific historic cemetery and he likes to take the remains and
• 2:55
  other artifacts that are contained in said cemetery.

  It's in the suburbs of Philadelphia.

  Philadelphia, of course, is in the eastern.

  The northeastern United States kind of borders up against New

  Jersey. And I live out here in the West,

  but so here we are, Mount Moriah Cemetery and.

  I think that we can probably kind of take a look at it's,

  it's in historic cemetery. See if I can turn around here.

  I've been there a very, very, very long time.

  Now, Mr. Garlock, he lives in what is the name of this town?

  It's called Euphrata, Pennsylvania.

  Euphrata Pennsylvania is quite a ways away.

  He in order to drive from his house.

  Out to this particular cemetery, it's about an hour and 38
• 9:49
  minutes now. I added in there, there's
• 9:52
  another address, 100 Washington Ave. there in Euphrata, which is
• 9:57
  a storage facility that kind of figures into the case.

  So I mean, that's not a little drive.

  Well, I mean, by Pennsylvania standards, crying out loud, it's
• 10:11
  not that long of a drive, but it's.
• 10:13
  For those of you who live in smaller countries pretty big
• 10:17
  drive any who that's that's where we are.

  Let's get into the criminal complaint, OK?

  And I think. They copied a faxes of a fax of
• 10:30
  a fax of a fax of a fax. But this is a felony.

  We are. This is just all the basic

  information we're going to get into the counts against him.

  So the original criminal complaint there are he was

  charged with burglary, he was charged with criminal
• 10:58
  trespassing. He another charge of criminal

  trespassing, defiant trespassing.

  Defiant trespassing basically means you have been told no.

  Well let's see, there are two defiant trespassings.

  One has actual communication too.

  So this because it doesn't say actual communication, it just
• 11:19
  means that he is a serial trespasser.

  Here's a defiant trespassing of a fenced enclosed area.

  Here's criminal mischief, damage to property, abuse of corpse is

  account here. It's count #7 theft by unlawful

  taking movable property is count #8 receiving stolen property is

  count #9 intentional desecration of a public monument count #10

  and. This one is intentional
• 11:55
  desecration of a venerated object.

  Let's see, Acts, intentional desecration of a venerated

  object. The actor Mr. Gerlach, between

  the dates of November 1, 2025 and January 6th, 26th in the
• 12:10
  County of Delaware, commits a misdemeanor of the second degree

  if he intentionally desecrates any other object in violation,

  blah blah blah. So yeah, not sure what that one

  is. Historic lots and burial places,
• 12:29
  that's count 12. And then this is the, you know,
• 12:34
  request of an arrest warrant. But what we really want to get
• 12:37
  into here is this one, the the affidavit of probable cause.

  Very curious what your comments are going to be on this as we go

  through this. Because again, they found over
• 12:56
  100 corpses in his home and at his storage facility.

  OK, so affidavit of probable cause on November 7th, 2025
• 13:08
  through January 6th, 26th, Detective Leah.
• 13:15
  Susanic of the Oh my goodness Eden Borough Police Department
• 13:22
  and Detective Christopher Carr of the Delaware County Criminal
• 13:25
  Investigation Division. That would be a that would be
• 13:29
  the county. Investigators, probably part of
• 13:33
  the District attorney's office, responded to numerous incidents
• 13:38
  at Mount Moriah Cemetery. With a physical address of 62 O
• 13:41
  1 Kingsessing Ave. in Philadelphia, Mount Moriah
• 13:46
  Cemetery spans the border between southwest Philadelphia
• 13:51
  and Philadelphia County and Edenborough in Delaware County,
• 13:55
  Pennsylvania. The Edenborough portion of the
• 13:57
  cemetery does not have a physical address, but entrance
• 14:00
  is gained through a gate located at these GPS coordinates
• 14:04
  coordinates. Mount Moriah was established in
• 14:08
  1865 and is approximately 160 acres containing over 150,000
• 14:14
  grave sites. That is a big cemetery.
• 14:17
  The cemetery's only entrance to the Edenborough section of the
• 14:21
  cemetery, which allows access to vehicles, is blocked by a metal
• 14:24
  gate secured with a chain and padlocked at these coordinates.
• 14:28
  The padlock can only be opened with a 4 digit code, which is
• 14:33
  not known to the public, only cemetery volunteers and the
• 14:36
  Edenborough Police Department. The gate is open on Saturdays
• 14:40
  and Sundays when time permits. This notice is posted on signage
• 14:45
  at the entrance of the cemetery. All of the below listed actions
• 14:49
  appear to target mausoleums and or underground vaults that
• 14:53
  contain multiple human remains. The mausoleums are sealed by
• 14:57
  either a secured door or cinder block to prevent access.

  The underground vaults have 4 walls.
• 15:04
  A floor and are sealed by a heavy stone or marble slab over
• 15:08
  the top to prevent access. So this guy allegedly.
• 15:15
  Had to work hard to get into these these final resting spots.
• 15:21
  Probable Cause Between November 7th, 2025 and January 6th, 2025,
• 15:29
  a total of 26 underground vaults and or mausoleums were
• 15:32
  discovered to be broken into and or damaged in Mount Moriah
• 15:36
  Cemetery. Through investigation by police
• 15:39
  with assistance from cemetery volunteers, it is believed that
• 15:43
  over 100 full or partial sets of human remains to include skulls,
• 15:52
  bones, skeletal remains and other items commonly found at
• 15:57
  grave sites to include name plates and caskets or places
• 16:01
  thereof. Through investigation, Jonathan
• 16:05
  Christian Gerlach, white, non Hispanic male, date of birth
• 16:09
  September 24th, 1991, was developed as a suspect and it
• 16:14
  was learned that he operated a brown Toyota Rav 4 bearing this
• 16:19
  license plate and utilize this phone number.
• 16:23
  On December 23rd, 2025, Detective Sasanic conducted a
• 16:28
  Viper license plate reader search of Garlic's vehicle
• 16:32
  bearing this registration number beginning November 1st, 2025
• 16:37
  through December 23rd, 2025. The search revealed that on the
• 16:41
  following dates and times, Garlic's vehicle was read by the
• 16:45
  following Viper license plate readers within Delaware County
• 16:48
  specifically. Readers within or close to
• 16:52
  Edenborough, so on. The first three are on November
• 16:57
  2nd, 4:55 PM, five O 9:00 PM and 5:16 PM.

  You know, northbound Church Lane at Valley Rd. in Eden, westbound
• 17:07
  Baltimore Ave. at Church Lane, Upper Darby, northbound Garrett
• 17:11
  Road and Lansdowne Ave. Upper Darby and then on the 8th
• 17:14
  westbound 6400 block of Market Street in Upper Darby and then
• 17:19
  on the 17th of December at 8:29 AM westbound Main Street on 5th
• 17:24
  St., Darby Borough. These dates are significant as
• 17:29
  the estimated timeframe for when the burglaries occurred fall
• 17:32
  within these dates. It is important to note that
• 17:35
  prior to the beginning of November, when the burglaries
• 17:38
  were first reported, Gehrlag's vehicle had never passed through
• 17:42
  any Viper license plate readers within Delaware County, let
• 17:46
  alone the lower end of Delaware County, nearby Mount Moriah
• 17:50
  Cemetery and again. If I can just take you back to
• 17:55
  the to the drive, right? I mean, this was, this is a
• 18:00
  drive that takes a bit and, and it gets into, I mean it gets
• 18:09
  into Philadelphia proper there for a while.
• 18:13
  It goes right along the river. I think that's the Susquehanna
• 18:16
  right here going into the Delaware.
• 18:21
  So, yeah, I mean, he, he's in Philadelphia.
• 18:24
  Property proper at that point, OK.
• 18:30
  On December 26th, 2025, Detective Sasanic requested that
• 18:35
  a search for Garlic's vehicle be conducted through the Vigilant
• 18:39
  license plate reader system. As a result, Garlic's vehicle
• 18:42
  was documented on a Vigilant Mobile license plate reader on
• 18:47
  Christmas Eve at 2:29 AM in the 6100 block of Kingsessing Ave.
• 18:53
  Philadelphia. This is significant as the
• 18:55
  Philadelphia portion of Mount Moriah Cemetery is located along
• 18:58
  this roadway. The physical address for Mount
• 19:01
  Morias Cemetery is listed as 62 O 1 Kingsessing Ave.
• 19:04
  Philadelphia. So he's spending.
• 19:06
  He's spending his his Christmas Eve pilfering and pillaging,
• 19:14
  allegedly the final resting spot of our dearly departed, Not cool
• 19:19
  man Not. Cool.
• 19:22
  On December 27th, 2025, Detective Car requested a search
• 19:26
  for Garlic's vehicle be conducted through the
• 19:28
  Philadelphia Police Department's Axon Plate Reader system.
• 19:32
  Man, it just feels like there ought to be a unified plate
• 19:35
  reader system, but OK. As a result, Garlic's vehicle
• 19:38
  was observed on again Christmas Eve at 12:28 AM, 6:32 AM and
• 19:47
  12:54 PM parked in the 6100 block of what's it called, King
• 19:53
  Sessing Ave. right next to Mount Moriah Cemetery.
• 19:56
  So Note 2 would be a grave robbers.

  Maybe rent a car, maybe switch it up a little bit, maybe just
• 20:07
  change your license plates. I, I don't know.

  I don't know. I'm not, I'm not a criminal

  mastermind. Don't listen to me.

  OK, on December 23rd at approximately what is that 10:22

  PM, Edenborough Police Officer Bendit was conducting a directed
• 20:23
  patrol of the Mount Moriah Cemetery grounds when he
• 20:26
  observed, lo and behold, da da, da, da, a Toyota Rav 4 bearing
• 20:32
  this license plate parked off the roadway in the grass and
• 20:35
  outside of the parking area designated for vehicles visiting
• 20:39
  the cemetery. The vehicle was positioned
• 20:41
  between two tree limbs that had fallen in the grass.
• 20:47
  OK, so he must have recorded that somehow, but he didn't go
• 20:52
  in to investigate, I guess. OK.
• 20:59
  On or around January 2nd, 2026, your Afient received historical
• 21:04
  cellular phones records for Jonathan Garlic's phone.
• 21:08
  A review of the records revealed the following.

  So a that's a search warrant that I don't have.
• 21:12
  I don't have the phone search warrant.
• 21:14
  OK, so on October 31st from 10:30 PM to 8:50 AM the
• 21:22
  following morning, his cell phone was usually cellular
• 21:26
  resources that cover Mount Moriah Cemetery.
• 21:29
  Same day from 11:38 to the next day at 448.
• 21:34
  Same thing the next day from 1:35 in the afternoon to five O
• 21:39
  6 in the afternoon. He was utilizing cellular
• 21:44
  resources that cover 1510 Westminster Rd.
• 21:46
  Plains Township, PA On November 7th from 11:39 PM to the
• 21:53
  following morning at 313, his cell phone was covering
• 21:57
  resources that or was utilizing resources covering the cemetery.
• 22:02
  December 23rd at 9:58 PM to the 24th at 8:29 AM.
• 22:08
  Man, he's working. Hard.
• 22:10
  His cell phone was using cell resources that cover the
• 22:13
  cemetery. And again on the 24th from 9:30
• 22:17
  AM to what is that 5:14 PM? Same thing On January 6th at
• 22:24
  around 8:00 PM, detectives conducted surveillance at Mount
• 22:28
  Moriah Cemetery. The cemetery was closed to the
• 22:31
  public at the time. This writer observed the
• 22:34
  Gearlocks vehicle, brown Toyota Rav 4 bearing that PA
• 22:38
  registration, parked and uncoupled and unoccupied.
• 22:47
  Oh I'm sorry, they observed the the car parked and unoccupied on
• 22:52
  Cemetery Ave. at Chester Ave., Philadelphia, PA, which is
• 22:56
  adjacent to the cemetery in Plainview.
• 22:59
  Inside of the vehicle were numerous bones and skulls in the
• 23:03
  back seat area of the vehicle. What in Plainview?
• 23:09
  Detectives later observed Gehrlich exiting the cemetery,
• 23:12
  walking back towards his vehicle carrying.
• 23:15
  Of. Course, a burlap bag, a crowbar,
• 23:20
  and other assorted items. That makes me wonder if he also
• 23:23
  had like the Hamburglar mask on. Did he have a striped shirt on?
• 23:28
  Oh my goodness, talk about. I mean, that looks like
• 23:33
  something straight out of a penny dreadful or something.
• 23:38
  A burlap bag, a crowbar, and other assorted items.
• 23:43
  Gehrlich was taken into custody at that time and located in the
• 23:47
  burlap bag. I don't even know how to get a
• 23:50
  burlap bag. Come on.

  But OK, were human remains to include two?
• 23:58
  No come on man, to include two mummified remains of small
• 24:07
  children, 3 skulls and other assorted bones.

  Oh my goodness. Gearlick was Mirandized and
• 24:17
  stated that he removed the human bones from a grave within Mount
• 24:20
  Moriah Cemetery. Because of course he did.

  Because he is an idiot. And boy am I glad that he is.

  Guys, criminals are just so dumb.

  I remember a few years ago I was at Crime Con UK and I was

  But she is a former FBI agent. She has specialization in in gun

  violence. And we were talking about her,

  you know, her career, how she started, and everybody starts

  basically the same place, bank robberies and so forth.

  And she was just like, criminals are just.

  Always so stupid. How do people rob banks and

  think they're going to get away with it?

  carrying his little crowbar like a like an umbrella walking in

  And then he just like, yeah, well, yeah, I took those from

  OK. But two mummified remains of

  There's more, there's more. Gerlach walked this rider to the

  grave site that he took the remains from and explained how
• 26:41
  he opened the grave with a crowbar.

  What? Additionally, Gerlach's vehicle

  keys were located behind the grave site.

  Are you serious? Gerlach was later interviewed at
• 26:59
  Delaware County CID headquarters where he admitted to stealing
• 27:03
  approximately 30 sets of human remains from Mount Moriah
• 27:08
  Cemetery. Well, he had five on him, 3
• 27:11
  skulls and two children. He had five on him just then,
• 27:17
  OK. Following day, January 7th,
• 27:19
  Garrick was brought to the cemetery where he identified 7
• 27:22
  underground vaults that he removed, a total of 15 skulls
• 27:27
  and other parts of human remains.

  Same day detectives from Delaware County CID, Efreda
• 27:36
  Police Department and assisting agencies executed a search
• 27:39
  warrant at 100 Washington Ave. Efreda.

  Now that we can bring up, let me this just going back to map time

  a little bit here. So this looks like it's probably

  a very typical eastern style house.

  Yeah, that says 100. So he's in just a very typical,

  These are very typical for for Pennsylvania.

  I don't know. We live in a house that's while

  not a duplex is very similar. Big front porch, mansard roof,

  three stories. You know, it's just, it's very

  typical out here. But this is so they, they, they

  serve the search warrant at that house.

  Upon execution, detectives observed over 100 human skulls,
• 28:49
  numerous human long bones. So those would probably be your
• 28:54
  femur, right? The humorous things like that.
