- 0:21that happens to autistic people quite often and essentially
- 0:23overloads. One of our main causes of
- 0:25autism, meltdowns. Now if you're familiar with
- 0:27autism, you're familiar with meltdowns.
- 0:28This is uncomfortable outbursts of emotions happens when there
- 0:33is a loss of control in the environment of the autistic
- 0:35individual. It's not good.
- 0:37I myself do have the from time to time and I have to manage
- 0:40with them. So I've written down 3 tips to
- 0:41help navigate your way through these things.
- 0:43Now if you're new around here and you haven't downloaded my
- 0:45Autism Wifax PDF book, you can do right now from
- 0:48autismhacks.net and it's completely free and the link is
- 0:50in the description down below. OK guys so the first one I'm
- 0:52going to talk about here is headphones now always carrying
- 0:55noise cancelling headphones with you wherever you go.
- 0:57Now I actually have the Apple Airpod Max I think they're
- 1:00called. Now these are noise cancelling
- 1:01headphones and they're just absolutely fantastic.
- 1:04Since you put them on, it kind of blocks out all the noise.
- 1:05And you can just actually, if you're in an environment that's
- 1:07sensory triggering, like an environment where it's too loud,
- 1:09noisy, could be shopping, world, train station, anywhere, put
- 1:12these headphones on and it just really does help.
- 1:15It dampens the noise. And it's kind of like one of
- 1:17those things that I would never leave home without because if
- 1:19I'm going somewhere, I know it's going to be noisy.
- 1:21I want to take my headphones because I want to kind of detach
- 1:22from that environment. That's a bit crazy and chaotic,
- 1:24right? So #2 is comfort over class And
- 1:26I always use this rule, especially when I'm travelling
- 1:29is that I'm put on like pyjamas or like sweats or anything
- 1:32that's super, super comfy because I want to be comfortable
- 1:34rather than looking stylish, right?
- 1:36And so if I'm travelling on an airplane or bus or car weather,
- 1:39I'll just really chill and just get into like the company's
- 1:41clothes ever. Now as soon as I wander my
- 1:43destination, I'll just go to the restroom and change into like
- 1:45professional clothes and I'll go into the event that I'm supposed
- 1:47to do. Now this is amazing because it
- 1:49gives you that control in the environment that you really
- 1:51need, especially when travelling, whereas travelling
- 1:52can be kind of quite out of control.
- 1:55So comfort over class wins every time.
- 1:57OK, so #3 is sunglasses. A lot of people overlook the
- 1:59film, but carrying sunglasses is a really good way to navigate
- 2:02through social situations. And also people with sensitive
- 2:05to light sensitivity, like if the sun's too bright, if light
- 2:07are too bright, put sunglasses on house, kind of dampen that
- 2:11light going in and it dampens that effect of that century
- 2:13input. And also, if you're talking to
- 2:15somebody, this is a pro tip. They believe that you're looking
- 2:18at them in the eyes, even though it's difficult for us to people
- 2:20to look people in the eyes because you can look anywhere
- 2:22around them, but you've got sunglasses on so they won't even
- 2:24know. Guys, if this video is life
- 2:25changing for you and anybody else, please share it in your
- 2:27social media account or leave me a comment down below.
- 2:29I read every comment and I'd love to interact.
- 2:31Also, guys, give this video a like and I'll see you in the
- 2:33next one. Peace.
