- 0:31Meredith Oke: Biology Collective podcast where we break down
- 0:34the practical applications of this emerging
- 0:37science, starting with healthy life habits and
- 0:39going wherever the quantum superhighway takes us.
- 0:43This is your host, executive and life coach,
- 0:45Meredith Oak, with a quick reminder that podcasts
- 0:48are conversations, not consultations. But if
- 0:52you're looking for one of those, do check out our
- 0:54free practitioner
- 0:55directory@quantumbiologycollective.org hi, Kelly
- 4:42Erickson. Welcome back to the QVC podcast. It is
- 4:46so good to see you again.
- 4:47Kelly Erickson: Yes, good to see you as well, Meredith. Thank you
- 4:50for having me back.
- 4:51Meredith Oke: Oh, it's such a pleasure. I love following your
- 4:55journey. You do such a nice job of sharing on
- 4:58Instagram. You know, I think it's a real gift for
- 5:02people who are able to communicate that way
- 5:05because it reaches so many people. And you do,
- 5:07like, a really beautiful job.
- 5:08Kelly Erickson: Thank you very much.
- 5:09Meredith Oke: I love that. All right, so you have, like, a
- 5:14really incredible kind of healing story that is,
- 5:20as with everybody, ongoing. So let's start with
- 5:25the circadian piece and tell us sort of how you
- 5:28came to that and just a high level explanation of
- 5:33why it matters so, so much.
- 5:37Kelly Erickson: Sure. So when I began this journey, I had just
- 5:43gotten sober. I was trying to help my son with
- 5:48his health stuff, but I also had my own health
- 5:52issues. I had PTSD and cptsd. And so through the
- 6:00process of trying to get him back to a state of
- 6:04wellness, I also was working on myself and
- 6:09applied anything that I asked him to do. So we
- 6:13came across the quantum community and we were
- 6:17told about the ketogenic diet and sunlight. And
- 6:21so we began to implement it. And I saw rapid
- 6:23changes, not just in my son, but in myself as
- 6:27well. I really was just hoping to lose weight.
- 6:30Like that's what my goal was. I had no idea that
- 6:36what I was doing was going to have such a
- 6:38profound impact on me. I had nightmares. I had
- 6:46significant anxiety, depression, ruminating
- 6:49thoughts, intrusive thoughts. And so all of this
- 6:54began to shift, really what I felt really rapidly
- 6:58because I was over 40 years old and I had
- 7:01experienced this most of my life. So when I
- 7:04started to feel these changes, I wanted to know
- 7:08exactly what was going on. So I began to study. I
- 7:12followed some really important people on
- 7:15Instagram and in the quantum community and just
- 7:19began to absorb as much as I could. And I learned
- 7:23some really important things, things about our
- 7:25circadian timing system and how it's in
- 7:29relationship to our stress management system and
- 7:33our energy management system. So our circadian
- 7:37timing system consists of a master clock inside
- 7:40of our brain, and it's called the suprachiasmatic
- 7:43nucleus. And then we have these little peripheral
- 7:46clocks all throughout the body, and they need to
- 7:50be in sync with each other, in relationship with
- 7:53each other to communicate about time within the
- 7:56body. And this tells our hormones and, you know,
- 8:00all these different processes throughout the body
- 8:03what time of day they should be functioning. And
- 8:08so when we use sunlight and really key specific
- 8:14times of sunlight, we can help reset this system.
- 8:19And so immediately I saw improvements in my three
- 8:23sleep, improvements in my mood, but also because
- 8:28the. The circadian timing system is in
- 8:33relationship with the stress management system, I
- 8:36was also better able to regulate my moods and my
- 8:41emotions. My. I want to be careful how I say this
- 8:45because I don't want to give the wrong idea, but
- 8:49I just. I began to feel like a different person.
- 8:52And. And so through this, you know, the studying
- 8:57that I did, I discovered there's a lot taking
- 9:00place inside the body that requires light as a
- 9:05primary signal in order for it to function
- 9:09optimally.
- 9:11Meredith Oke: Okay, tell us. Tell us a little more about what
- 9:14you found.
- 9:15Kelly Erickson: Yeah, so, you know, when we. So my history, like
- 9:22I said, was PTSD and cptsd. And when we have a
- 9:25history of trauma, we. We know, we call it
- 9:30stress. Right? We have a massive amount of
- 9:32stress, and stress dysregulates the entire
- 9:36system. But more specifically, emotions
- 9:40dysregulate the entire system because we don't
- 9:44have. We're not really taught how to bring
- 9:50awareness to our emotions. We're not really
- 9:53taught about how our perception plays into our
- 9:58emotions or can kind of keep our emotions from
- 10:06being processed. And so when we don't understand,
- 10:12process primary emotions, or what I call core
- 10:15emotions, which are anger, shame, and fear, then
- 10:19we begin to navigate the world from our space of
- 10:26perception, or our feelings rather than our
- 10:30emotions. And our emotions and feelings are very
- 10:34different from each other. Feelings are emotions
- 10:38rather are. They're primal, they're instinctual,
- 10:44they arise immediately. And feelings are the
- 10:50meaning that we give to the emotions. Most people
- 10:55live in the state of feeling and their perception
- 11:00of what's going on, which keeps triggering the
- 11:05emotional response. And so this leads us to the
- 11:11nervous system and how we view the nervous system
- 11:15through the polyvagal theory. So the polyvagal
- 11:18theory tells us that we have three primary states
- 11:22of nervous system activation. So we have the
- 11:27fight response, we have the flight response, we
- 11:30have the freeze response. And then kind of
- 11:33collapse or fawn are in there as well. And so the
- 11:37fight response is associated with anger. That's
- 11:41the primary emotion that drives that response.
- 11:44Then we have fear, which drives the flight
- 11:46response, and we have freeze, which drives or
- 11:50shame, which drives the freeze response. And we
- 11:55have problems with nervous system regulation
- 11:58because we don't know how to navigate those three
- 12:02primary emotions. And so understanding that these
- 12:09emotions are core emotions. And emotions are
- 12:17energy in motion, right? And energy is
- 12:21information. So these emotions are designed to
- 12:26inform us about our environment, about our
- 12:30experience, but we're not using that information.
- 12:35We're living in a space of feeling, and that's
- 12:40perception. And our perception is developed from,
- 12:45you know, beginning stages of life. And it's
- 12:48largely personality driven. It has a lot to do
- 12:52with our unique experiences. And so we disconnect
- 12:59from emotions and we live primarily in feelings.
- 13:04And this, this creates a disconnect between the
- 13:09mind and the body because we need to understand
- 13:15where things are coming from and how our nervous
- 13:18system is becoming dysregulated. But these three
- 13:22primary emotions of anger, shame and fear, it's
- 13:25also what we call the ego, because the ego is
- 13:28this protective mechanism that is designed to
- 13:32keep us safe when we're navigating the world. But
- 13:35if we're stuck in these three primary emotions,
- 13:38we're essentially stuck in the ego. And this kind
- 13:41of takes us into the world of consciousness. And
- 13:45when we look at consciousness through David
- 13:47Hawkins scale of consciousness, right at the
- 13:51bottom of the scale we see shame. And there, you
- 13:55know, and so that's the freeze response again.
- 13:59And so if, you know, when we go out seeking a
- 14:07healing journey, there are so many places where
- 14:11we, we get kind of hung up. So like the first
- 14:16place people usually seek healing is through
- 14:18food. That's the most obvious, right? And then
- 14:22they'll see some improvements with changing their
- 14:25nutrition. And then maybe they add exercise. And
- 14:29from exercise they might, you know, add a little
- 14:34bit of meditation or a little bit of this. But
- 14:38still they're stuck. And what I get a lot of
- 14:41clients saying is that they feel like they lack
- 14:44purpose or that they're disconnected from their
- 14:47selves, but they are seemingly normal, everyday
- 14:51people. They can, you know, have jobs and do all
- 14:54of these things, but they're still very
- 14:57disconnected. And when I ask them about their
- 15:01emotional states or their primary nervous system
- 15:04states, they have a very difficult time
- 15:06identifying which states they live in and which
- 15:10emotions that they're primarily experiencing. And
- 15:14so we begin to use language as a tool to inform
- 15:20us about what we're experiencing. And I think
- 15:24there's a lot of language can be a tool or a
- 15:31weapon. And so developing discernment within
- 15:39language can be really Helpful in understanding
- 15:45not just what's happening with inside of us, but
- 15:48also what we're experiencing in the external
- 15:51world. And so shame. You know, shame is this
- 15:57really. This kind of takes us back to our last
- 16:00podcast together. Sorry if I am jumping around a
- 16:03little bit, but I was really wanting to explain
- 16:06this for anyone who may have listened to our last
- 16:09podcast together, because I really. I messed it
- 16:13up. I was on the verge of tears the entire time.
- 16:18I was so worried about getting all of the details
- 16:23right, and I didn't want to mess things up. And
- 16:25it's this kind of perfectionistic desire to
- 16:30control my image and kind of feeling like an
- 16:34imposter. And when we got off that call, I wanted
- 16:38to quit everything. I was like, that's it. I'm
- 16:41never showing my face again. I can't do this. I
- 16:44don't belong here. And it took me a couple of
- 16:48weeks to really understand what was happening.
- 16:53And I was actually listening to a podcast on
- 16:56homeschooling, and it occurred to me what was
- 17:00happening. So I view you as an authority in the
- 17:04field of quantum biology, and I didn't. I mean, I
- 17:12viewed myself as an authority within my own
- 17:15framework. But when I was coming to do the
- 17:19podcast with you, authority to authority, that
- 17:23kind of. It felt like confrontation in my nervous
- 17:26system. So I went into freeze mode and I could
- 17:31not think. Like, I just couldn't recall anything.
- 17:34I was. I was so confused. And so this led me back
- 17:41to the work I'd already been doing on
- 17:43consciousness. And I went back to David Hawkins
- 17:46book and where he discussed shame. And I was
- 17:51like, oh, that's what it was. I was experiencing
- 17:56shame in that moment because I viewed you as an
- 18:01authority. And when we have shame, it robs us of.
- 18:06Of our personal authority. It robs us of our own
- 18:10personal power. And I was like, oh, my gosh, this
- 18:15is what's happening. I was triggering my own
- 18:19shame based on my perceptions, based upon a
- 18:25narrative that I had developed early in childhood
- 18:28about my own self worth. And I was like, phew.
- 18:34Now. Oh, my goodness. It was so, you know, the
- 18:40universe, I think, gives us exactly what we need,
- 18:44exactly when we need it, but it's what we do with
- 18:48it that makes or breaks us. And so I could have
- 18:53gone into a hole and deleted my Instagram profile
- 18:56and never did the work again and never showed my
- 18:59face, but instead I was like, okay, I can do this
- 19:04now that I know what I'm working with. And even
- 19:06right now, my face is turning a little bit red.
- 19:09And that kind of indicates that I'm experiencing
- 19:12a little bit of shame, but I'm not afraid of it
- 19:15anymore. And because I can identify it and I know
- 19:19exactly what's happening, it doesn't overwhelm me
- 19:24in the same way that it did a year ago when we
- 19:27had that initial podcast. So then through, you
- 19:33know, all of the work and my studies on quantum
- 19:37biology and their circadian timing system, what I
- 19:41then discovered is that emotions and our
- 19:44experience of time are like in a marriage
- 19:49together. They're intimately linked up and we
- 19:55know, or you know, I, I mean, I think it's
- 19:59definitive that time and space are constructs of
- 20:03perception. They don't like reality isn't
- 20:06actually dependent upon them. And our mind is
- 20:10what creates time in order for us to make sense
- 20:16of the world. And when we have these emotional
- 20:20experiences, extremely overwhelming emotional
- 20:24experiences that we don't process, where we
- 20:27experience anger, shame, and fear, what we're
- 20:29doing is we're altering our perception of. Of
- 20:33time. And it's not just our perception of time,
- 20:38but it's actually we're messing with our timing
- 20:42mechanisms within the body. Because, like I said,
- 20:45that stress management system and the circadian
- 20:49timing system are in this bi directional
- 20:52relationship with each other. And so it's like,
- 20:56oh, my gosh, of course. It's all connected. It's
- 20:59all wanted.
- 20:59Meredith Oke: Oh, wow.
- 21:01Kelly Erickson: Yeah.
- 21:02Meredith Oke: And then we come right back, right back to the.
- 21:06To the circadian piece and how intentionally
- 21:10living within the natural cycles of that is
- 21:13regulating our nervous system on an emotional
- 21:15level.
- 21:15Kelly Erickson: Yes, Kelly.
- 21:20Meredith Oke: Wow. I love it. And I also want to acknowledge
- 21:25you and thank you for sharing about your
- 21:28emotional experience and that we, we communicated
- 21:31briefly about it in messages. But that is like,
- 21:38you know, first of all, thank you for being
- 21:40vulnerable enough and brave enough to share what
- 21:42your experience was and, and to keep going, you
- 21:49know, and it's just. It's funny. Like, there's a
- 21:51few things I want to say, right? It's like, it in
- 21:54my mind, I'm like, I'm just like a lady
- 21:57interviewing people, and I'm excited to hear
- 22:00people's stories, but I have had that feedback
- 22:04multiple times that people feel very nervous. And
- 22:10so I even. I had invited someone on the podcast
- 22:12and she didn't write back right away. And I was
- 22:14like, and I thought of you and I wrote her again.
- 22:18And I was like, I'm just really excited to hear
- 22:21your story. And here's what I'm thinking. We're
- 22:23going to talk about. It's just going to be fun,
- 22:25you know, and she Was like, oh, okay, thanks. I
- 22:27was really scared to book it.
- 22:30Kelly Erickson: Yeah.
- 22:32Meredith Oke: And. And I have the same. I have the same thing
- 22:35too. I went on a bunch of podcasts a couple years
- 22:38ago, and I wasn't planning to. I had to step in
- 22:41because I was, like, planning for someone else.
- 22:42They'd been booked and I was kind of planning for
- 22:44someone else to do it. So I did it. And I had
- 22:46that exact, like, every single time. I was like,
- 22:48oh, my God, what am I doing? I have no business
- 22:51doing. Yeah. And yeah, I often have people circle
- 22:56back and be like, I forgot to say this or I
- 22:58didn't say that. So it's interesting because I do
- 23:01think that this platform, the platform of
- 23:04podcasting, which is available to anybody if, you
- 23:07know, you and Lauren have a beautiful podcast
- 23:10going now. Like, it really is a personal growth
- 23:13opportunity in a way that I did not see coming.
- 23:17Kelly Erickson: Yes, it really is. And to look back at our. The
- 23:21first episode that Lauren and I recorded together
- 23:24versus this last episode that we just recorded
- 23:28with Morley Robbins, it's just a world of
- 23:32difference. And it's only been a year's time. I
- 23:36mean, granted, I am someone who does a lot of
- 23:39personal growth, you know, outside of these
- 23:42things, but you do. You are confronted with parts
- 23:46of yourself that maybe you don't get to
- 23:48experience in your regular day to day
- 23:52interactions. So. Yeah. Yeah. Vulnerable.
- 23:56Meredith Oke: Yeah. And yeah. The authority piece, the being in
- 24:00the spotlight piece, there's so many different
- 24:04pieces to it. Okay, so let's circle back to the
- 24:09circadian and the emotions. So I think this is
- 24:15really interesting, the difference between
- 24:16emotions and feelings. So if, if I'm walking and
- 24:21I realize, like, I'm at the edge of a cliff and
- 24:23I'm like. And I have that, like, rush of panic
- 24:28that I'm gonna fall off the edge of the cliff,
- 24:29and I step back. That's an emotion.
- 24:31Kelly Erickson: Yes, that's.
- 24:32Meredith Oke: And then, okay, so that's fear. And then if I
- 24:35start thinking like, oh, my God, Meredith, I
- 24:38can't believe you'd be so stupid as to walk near
- 24:40the edge of a cliff. And what, am I gonna die?
- 24:42And then if I die, what's gonna happen to my,
- 24:44like, those that. That have gone into feelings.
- 24:47Kelly Erickson: Yes. Yes.
- 24:48Meredith Oke: Okay.
- 24:48Kelly Erickson: Yes. And a lot of people, because they don't
- 24:51recognize the difference between the two, they
- 24:55will perpetuate the emotion. That feeling of fear
- 25:00with the narrative or that self talk that they
- 25:04keep doing with reliving. Reliving the feelings.
- 25:08So, like, keep saying to yourself, I'm so stupid,
- 25:12I can't believe I did that. And every time you do
- 25:15that, you're re triggering that fear response.
- 25:19And so your nervous system is just responding
- 25:23physiologically over and over and over again. And
- 25:27so a lot of the work that I do with clients is we
- 25:31start by mapping the nervous system. I have them
- 25:34write down several times a day their primary
- 25:37emotions, their primary behaviors, and their
- 25:39primary symptoms. And then we go back and we see
- 25:42what emotions, you know, I mean, I can look at it
- 25:45and see what emotions they're experiencing on a
- 25:48pretty regular basis. And then we dive into that
- 25:53narrative and where it was developed as a child.
- 25:56Like, where did you learn that you were unworthy
- 26:01or unlovable or whatever it is? Right. And just,
- 26:08you know, we know from the observer effect, just
- 26:11that process of observation begins to shift
- 26:15things pretty massively. And then it's the
- 26:19healing spiral. We're given opportunities to
- 26:22revisit each, you know, each emotion over and
- 26:26over again with a new level of awareness. And
- 26:29each time you bring a new level of awareness,
- 26:32you're observing it differently and you're
- 26:34shifting it again. And so we just keep repeating
- 26:38this pattern over and over again. And what we're
- 26:42doing is we're unburdening the heart. So we know
- 26:46from the HeartMath Institute, right, that there
- 26:49is heart brain coherence. And when they are out
- 26:53of sync, primarily due to, you know, these
- 26:58overwhelming, unprocessed emotions, we have a
- 27:04very chaotic toroidal field. And this toroidal
- 27:09field informs our relationship to other people.
- 27:15And so this is where we can get into, like,
- 27:18attachment wounds. And if you think about what is
- 27:23in what information is being sent out from your
- 27:30heart in that electromagnetic field that extends
- 27:34up to what, 12, 15ft from your body, what kind of
- 27:38information are you sending out to the people
- 27:42you're in relationship to? Is it one of fear? Is
- 27:46it one of anger? Is it one of shame? And then
- 27:49what is it attracting back to you in
- 27:52relationships? And so when I look at attachment
- 27:56wounds or attachment theory, that's really how I
- 28:00view it is from that heart brain coherence kind
- 28:04of field of information that we know about.
- 28:10Meredith Oke: So cool. So it's like the. There's like a chaos
- 28:16in our frequency, and that is what other people
- 28:21are sensing.
- 28:22Kelly Erickson: Yes. And then we're responding to theirs. Right?
- 28:25And so it's being sent out and then coming back
- 28:29to us. So, you know, it's this constant field of
- 28:33information informing our perception and our
- 28:38experience of where we sit within the world or
- 28:41within relationship to others. And so when we can
- 28:45work on Heart, brain coherence through
- 28:48unburdening some of these emotions and then using
- 28:52things like the HeartMath Institute app, and, you
- 28:55know, you can use that. You create this coherent
- 29:00field of information that goes out. You are
- 29:04operating from a space of love, and then you are
- 29:09informing your relationship to other people of
- 29:12love, and it begins to balance out that
- 29:18electromagnetic signal and feedback system that
- 29:22you're getting when you're in relationship to
- 29:24other people.
- 29:27Meredith Oke: So. Interesting.
- 29:28Kelly Erickson: Yeah.
- 29:29Meredith Oke: And that would probably affect, like, who you're.
- 29:33Who you choose to be around. I mean, I remember,
- 29:36you know, so we have a lot of common. A lot of
- 29:39things in common on our journey. And my husband,
- 29:45he said something to me one time. It was
- 29:47something. He's like, why do you always have to
- 29:49have, like, one totally crazy friend? And I was
- 29:55like, I don't know, but I always did. I was just
- 29:58somehow always attracted to an agent of chaos
- 30:01that I had to have. And there were other people,
- 30:04and they seemed who I could be friends with, but
- 30:06they seemed boring. And as I healed, I was like,
- 30:11oh, they're not boring. They're just not chaotic.
- 30:14Kelly Erickson: Right, right.
- 30:15Meredith Oke: And it totally shifted. And I no longer have any
- 30:21agents of chaos by choice. There's a few I'm
- 30:24related to, but, yeah, it does. So that's like a
- 30:29super interesting lens to, like, understand that
- 30:32behavior.
- 30:32Kelly Erickson: Yeah, yeah. And it changes our relationship with
- 30:36others in. In a more profound way as well. So
- 30:41when we look at these emotions from David
- 30:44Hawkins, scale of Consciousness, anger, shame,
- 30:48and fear sit below. Well, fear and shame really
- 30:52sit below what is called the frequency of truth.
- 30:56And it's when we begin to rise above those
- 31:00frequencies that we begin to seek truth. And it's
- 31:04truth in all manners. And love is the ultimate
- 31:10truth frequency, in my opinion. And so as we
- 31:16navigate up and we begin, we, you know, unburden
- 31:20the heart with each layer. We get closer and
- 31:23closer to the truth or to the frequency of love.
- 31:27And I believe that love, in the way that we
- 31:31understand it from society's perspective, it's
- 31:36really. It's. We're given the perception that
- 31:41love is very transactional. It's, I'm giving you
- 31:45love, I'm doing this out of love, et cetera. But
- 31:49I believe from my own personal experience that
- 31:53when we are the frequency of love, there is. It's
- 31:58not transactional at all. And we begin to see
- 32:02things like judgment or resentment or, you know,
- 32:08these other kind of filters through which we
- 32:12experience other humans, they begin to dissolve.
- 32:15And we can see other people through a much more
- 32:25unfiltered perception, I guess. So resentment and
- 32:29judgment would be filters that you are
- 32:32experiencing other people through. And so love,
- 32:37to me is much more about a frequency that we
- 32:40operate from. And then we begin to feed our
- 32:47relationships with this frequency, and it can
- 32:52help other people begin to balance out their
- 32:57instability, their chaos. It can inform their
- 33:03field of information. You know, we know through
- 33:07nervous system regulation work that we can help
- 33:10others regulate their nervous system. It's called
- 33:12co regulation. Right. And that's what a mother
- 33:15does with her child when she picks up her baby
- 33:18after it's hurt and it's hurt itself. We can do
- 33:23that also from the frequency of love. And we
- 33:26begin to bring stability into all of our
- 33:29relationships. Now, this doesn't mean we control
- 33:33other people and it's automatically going to fix
- 33:36everything about them, but it does. It does
- 33:40provide a platform of stability and coherence
- 33:44rather than chaos and, you know, further
- 33:49instability.
- 33:52Meredith Oke: Yes. Beautiful. And then we, you know, if we are
- 33:58creating that field or contributing to that field
- 34:01of love and that becomes dominant, then we can
- 34:07help to regulate others who. I mean, I guess you
- 34:12probably have to be open to it to a certain
- 34:13extent. Right. But just by being in that. And I'm
- 34:16thinking now of like, recovery groups, you know,
- 34:19places like Alcoholics Anonymous, where you have
- 34:22that, like, container of acceptance. And it's so
- 34:28not trans. The opposite of transactional. Right.
- 34:30Is really vibrating at a frequency of love. And
- 34:33someone comes in who's an absolute at the bottom
- 34:36as. As they say, and they are, at least for the
- 34:40duration of the time that they're in that space,
- 34:43they. They can become regulated. And you see how
- 34:45it's that. That frequency of love.
- 34:49Kelly Erickson: Yes. A hundred percent. And it's interesting you
- 34:51brought up the AA groups because in David Hawkins
- 34:55book, when he's talking about consciousness
- 34:58itself. Yeah, it's. Alcoholics Anonymous is one
- 35:03of the, you know, few or many groups that
- 35:08vibrates at the frequency of truth. And it is
- 35:12that unconditional love, that lack of judgment
- 35:17that individuals bring into the room and help
- 35:21others recover.
- 35:24Meredith Oke: That's right. Yeah. I forgot. He has a beautiful
- 35:27section on that.
- 35:29Kelly Erickson: Yep.
- 35:30Meredith Oke: Yeah. You know, he really understood that at a
- 35:33deep level. He was amazing.
- 35:34Kelly Erickson: Yeah. Yeah.
- 35:35Meredith Oke: I have his book by my bed. Just. I open it
- 35:39randomly every couple of days. Yeah, beautiful.
- 35:43Kelly Erickson: Yeah.
- 35:44Meredith Oke: Okay, so let's. Let's bring it back to. Okay.
- 35:48We've talked about the difference between
- 35:50emotions and feelings and sort of stabilizing our
- 35:57toroidal field, so to speak, by being regulated
- 36:02in our nervous system and not constantly pinging
- 36:04around between the feelings and the emotions. And
- 36:10let's explore a little more the role that nature
- 36:15and photons and darkness play in that in this
- 36:20landscape.
- 36:21Kelly Erickson: Yeah. So nature, of course, is like our original
- 36:29home. It is the place where, you know, we
- 36:36evolved, you know, and so it's no surprise that
- 36:41when we go out into nature, there are all kinds
- 36:44of benefits that we can receive. So sunlight is
- 36:50one of them. We get photons of sunlight. And
- 36:54there's so much that we could talk about with
- 36:58sunlight specifically and helping it to regulate
- 37:01your emotional landscape or your nervous system
- 37:06or your mitochondria. There's just so many
- 37:10benefits to sunlight. I think it's an equilibrium
- 37:14frequency and it really does help bring us back
- 37:17into balance in so many different ways. You can
- 37:23go out into the woods and receive phytonicides
- 37:28from pine trees, and these are really beneficial
- 37:32for regulating the nervous system. You can go out
- 37:36and be around a waterfall or running water and
- 37:40get negative ions. Or even in after a
- 37:46thunderstorm, there's negative ions in the air
- 37:50that are extremely beneficial. You can put your
- 37:53feet to the bare earth and receive electrons from
- 37:57the earth that help to regulate your nervous
- 38:00system and bring balance back in. Yeah, but also,
- 38:06like when we're out in nature, our field, our
- 38:12connection to the quantum field is uninterrupted.
- 38:17And so I think when we go out into nature and we
- 38:22don't have the headphones on or the cell phone on
- 38:25our pocket, in our pocket, kind of sending these
- 38:28altered frequencies, I think this is the ultimate
- 38:32opportunity for connection to the quantum field
- 38:35and where so many people, including myself, get
- 38:38our, our downloads or these like, aha moments, or
- 38:43some people might call them spiritual moments.
- 38:45And I think that's because we. There's no
- 38:48interference between us and the quantum field.
- 38:52And we have a very regulated nervous system. So I
- 38:57take a walk every single day, and that's where I
- 39:00get these, you know, insights into things are
- 39:04like my next idea for what I'm gonna do. And, you
- 39:07know, it just appears to come out of nowhere, but
- 39:11it's. It's not. You know, walking is like moving
- 39:14meditation. All of these benefits that we can get
- 39:18from being outside listening to the birds and,
- 39:22you know, the, the, the horizon has benefits.
- 39:26Like watching the horizon walking down a straight
- 39:30and narrow road has benefits for your perception.
- 39:33I mean, you really can't beat time outside in any
- 39:38way.
- 39:40Meredith Oke: Wow. So much there and, and, and the moving
- 39:44around. You're remind. You're reminding me. I
- 39:48watched this movie, I think, last winter. It's,
- 39:51it's old. It's on YouTube. You can find it. It's
- 39:54called Copenhagen, and it's about Niels Bohr. And
- 39:59I forget all. Anyway, it's all these, like, early
- 40:02pioneers of quantum physics. And they have this.
- 40:06They're discussing all of the big breakthroughs
- 40:11that they had. And they were like, oh, yeah, I
- 40:13remember that. We would, like. We'd be around the
- 40:15table, like, pouring over the formulas, and we
- 40:17were like, ah, we're never gonna get it. And then
- 40:19we'd go out for a hike in those Swiss mountains,
- 40:22and all the breakthroughs would come. And they
- 40:24told. They were just talking and telling stories,
- 40:26the characters. But I noticed every time they
- 40:29talked about when they had a breakthrough is when
- 40:31they left the work and went skiing or went hiking
- 40:35or went outside.
- 40:36Kelly Erickson: Yeah. Yep. Yeah. I mean, it's. It's not
- 40:40surprising. I mean, it really isn't, you know,
- 40:44but also, I think a lot of people get
- 40:46breakthroughs while they're sleeping. And it's
- 40:49the same kind of thing as your brainwave states.
- 40:54Right. You are in this deep, kind of meditative
- 40:58state. And so that connection to the quantum
- 41:02field opens up. And you get these downloads in
- 41:06the form of dreams. And, you know.
- 41:11Meredith Oke: Yes. Do you have any thoughts on the dreamscape
- 41:16and have you just personally experienced or
- 41:19heard, you know, in your travels with other
- 41:22people. If people's dreams have becoming more
- 41:26intense lately or more frequent or more colorful?
- 41:32Kelly Erickson: I haven't had clients mention anything about
- 41:36dreams lately. I know my dreams have been a
- 41:42little bit more, like, in intuitive or
- 41:47precognitive, but I haven't confirmed that or
- 41:52spoken about it with other people. What are your
- 41:54thoughts?
- 41:55Meredith Oke: Yeah, I've noticed the same. My sample size is me
- 41:59and my family, so I just wanted to see what else
- 42:03was going on. But, yes, I have definitely noticed
- 42:08that.
- 42:08Kelly Erickson: Yeah. And would you connect it to what's going on
- 42:12with the Schumann residents and the solar flares
- 42:16that we're getting?
- 42:18Meredith Oke: Possibly.
- 42:19Kelly Erickson: Yeah. Yeah.
- 42:21Meredith Oke: Possibly. Yes. Well, so. And I haven't taken the
- 42:25time to, like, really dig into it, but I do think
- 42:29there's something.
- 42:30Kelly Erickson: Yeah. Yeah. And so that kind of ties us, then,
- 42:34back into the consciousness conversation is, you
- 42:37know, when you. If you follow any accounts that
- 42:40talk about the Schumann resonance and. Or the
- 42:43solar flares and how we're getting these
- 42:46energetic upgrades. That is what David Hawkins
- 42:51referred to in the 80s when, as a collective, we
- 42:55just passed over that threshold into truth. And
- 42:59that's when people really began seeking, you
- 43:03know, truth about medications, truth about food,
- 43:06truth about all sorts of things. Right. And so we
- 43:10are receiving these energetic upgrades that are
- 43:14allowing us to expand our level of consciousness.
- 43:18But at the same time, you're going to be called
- 43:21to dig through these anger, shame, and fear
- 43:24emotions so that you're no longer, you know,
- 43:29perpetuating them or hanging on to them so that
- 43:31you can experience that expansion. And then when
- 43:36people talk about 3D reality, what I think it's
- 43:41referring to is anger, shame, and fear. And in
- 43:45order to move into this 5D reality or anything
- 43:49beyond that is through the processing of these
- 43:53emotions and getting ourselves closer to that
- 43:56frequency of love. And then when you think about
- 43:58love, love and light are synonymous, right? And
- 44:02so we're getting all of these light codes, and we
- 44:04were expanding our heart, we're expanding our
- 44:07awareness. It's all kind of one in the same. Just
- 44:11everybody's using a different language to
- 44:15describe it, which makes it seem like there's all
- 44:18something separate. But I think it's. It's all
- 44:22the same.
- 44:24Meredith Oke: Hmm. That makes a lot of sense. So when you say.
- 44:29When you use the words light codes, because I
- 44:33loved what you said earlier about being
- 44:35discerning with our language. I think as we move
- 44:39closer to truth, the discernment piece becomes
- 44:42really important, just in general. That wasn't my
- 44:45point, though. Oh, yeah. So the light codes. And
- 44:48then, okay, so as we, as a collective, move more
- 44:54towards emitting a frequency of love, shall I
- 45:02say? And then we're talking about the changes in
- 45:05the Schumann resonance. We're talking about the
- 45:07solar flares. I'm working on a talk, and I'm
- 45:10looking at, like, the Kali Yuga cycles, the Mayan
- 45:16cycles, the Chinese cosmology cycles, and then as
- 45:19well as some more, like, material, just history
- 45:22cycles, economic cycles. And, like, it's been so
- 45:26interesting. No matter. Like, I started out,
- 45:28I'll, like, I'll just look at 1 or 2 as to make a
- 45:31point. And now I'm, like, I've listed, like, nine
- 45:33of them, and they're all. They all have an
- 45:37overlap, which is that this moment in time, it's
- 45:41basically insanely crazy in terms of
- 45:44transformation, like, no matter which of those
- 45:46systems you look at.
- 45:47Kelly Erickson: Right?
- 45:48Meredith Oke: And so now I'm hearing from you, like, even as
- 45:51another lens through which to view this shift,
- 45:56and you're talking human resonance, solar flares,
- 46:00light codes. And is it our consciousness
- 46:03affecting that? Or. Or is it. How do you see it?
- 46:08Like, are we driving that? Is it driving us? Is
- 46:10it a. Is it a symbiotic.
- 46:13Kelly Erickson: Interesting. I hadn't really. I guess I kind of
- 46:17just Assumed it was affecting us. But when you
- 46:23say that, it's like, well, it's all a bi
- 46:26directional relationship, so we've got to be
- 46:29feeding something back into it. But. Yeah, I
- 46:33don't know. That's.
- 46:35Meredith Oke: I don't know either. I have no idea. Wow, that's.
- 46:38Kelly Erickson: I mean, that's definitely something to consider
- 46:42and to apply it to, you know, these other time
- 46:48periods in history where there was a lot of
- 46:50chaos. You know, as we're expanding and moving
- 46:53closer towards love, there is going to be a lot
- 46:56of chaos because people have to work through that
- 46:59anger, shame and fear. And that means a lot of
- 47:03release, a lot of, you know, stirring the pot
- 47:09from, you know, the bottom all the way up. And so
- 47:13it may look a little ugly for a while, but I
- 47:17think we're already beginning to see the shift
- 47:21in, you know, the way people are viewing things
- 47:25and viewing themselves in relationship to the
- 47:29collective.
- 47:31Meredith Oke: Yes. Yeah, I think so too. And, and that was.
- 47:36Yeah, that's definitely a big piece of. It is.
- 47:38There's, there's like a destabilizing piece to
- 47:44transformation. And so ideally you want the old
- 47:48systems that aren't working to give way to the
- 47:51new ones, but not so fast that we're all buried
- 47:55in the rubble. Yes.
- 47:58Kelly Erickson: Yeah. Yeah. And then the more I understood about
- 48:01shame and you know, of course, with the election
- 48:04coming up this year or, you know, happening this
- 48:07year, and I started to view the political stage
- 48:11through the lens of shame and societal
- 48:15structures. Anything that ends in ism is based on
- 48:20shame. And so it requires us to disown ourselves
- 48:27for it to be able to function the way that it
- 48:31functions. And the minute that we all see step
- 48:34back into our own personal power is the minute
- 48:37those systems are no longer valid or operational
- 48:42for us. Right. Because that's not how we view
- 48:46ourselves anymore.
- 48:48Meredith Oke: Yes. That's a beautiful way to describe it. And
- 48:52that's how it feels to me. And that's how I feel
- 48:54like I'm seeing it. It's like even the old. Back
- 48:59to what you're saying about discerning language,
- 49:01even the language tools that we use, you know,
- 49:04left, right, this political party, that political
- 49:06party, like they're becoming almost meaningless.
- 49:09And it's really about people who want to live in
- 49:14the truth.
- 49:14Kelly Erickson: Yeah.
- 49:15Meredith Oke: And not be controlled.
- 49:17Kelly Erickson: Yeah.
- 49:18Meredith Oke: Versus people who are like, no, no, these systems
- 49:20are better. It's better to have the system
- 49:22controlling us. That's more where I see the
- 49:25shift. And it has, you know, red, blue, purple,
- 49:29up, down, left, right. Like it's those Things
- 49:32have. Are dissolving and becoming largely
- 49:34irrelevant.
- 49:35Kelly Erickson: Yeah, but it's all part of the process. You know,
- 49:38it's not, you know, not judging other people
- 49:42where they're at and how maybe they orient
- 49:47towards safety, because for them, safety is those
- 49:51systems. Right. They're relying on those systems
- 49:54to keep them safe. But at some point in their
- 49:57journey, they will butt up against those very
- 50:00systems and they'll be asked to look within and
- 50:04reevaluate and, you know, ask the question, is
- 50:08this system really working for me or is it
- 50:11working against me? And we're all just at
- 50:14different stages of that journey. And, you know,
- 50:18I think over the coming generations, I. I just
- 50:22don't see these systems being in place anymore.
- 50:27Meredith Oke: Yeah, I don't either. And I think the point
- 50:32you're making is really good. And that was. It's
- 50:34actually was kind of the point of this talk I'm
- 50:37going to give is that for those of us who can
- 50:42orient around the new paradigms, who can feel
- 50:46safe and grounded in the world, even in the midst
- 50:50of all this change, I feel like we have some
- 50:55level of responsibility to show up for the people
- 51:00you just described who are not there yet, and
- 51:03it's going to feel really scary, and they're
- 51:04going to be very disoriented. And especially
- 51:08people in that space where the systems that they
- 51:11trusted. And we've all been there, probably
- 51:13everyone listening to a podcast like this has
- 51:15been there. Right. That system that we trust us,
- 51:18that we trusted, has betrayed us.
- 51:20Kelly Erickson: Right.
- 51:21Meredith Oke: And when you feel that betrayal of the system or
- 51:25the institution that your whole life you've felt
- 51:28like you could rely on and you don't have an
- 51:32alternative, that's a terrifying and scary place
- 51:37to be. And that's where I feel like we all
- 51:40collectively have a responsibility to help
- 51:44navigate that for people.
- 51:46Kelly Erickson: Yeah. And I think that's a beautiful point. And,
- 51:49and you know, I've been saying this to my clients
- 51:52and also in mine and Lauren's podcast. I think. I
- 51:57think our souls speak different languages. And so
- 52:04different people speak different language. That's
- 52:10not a very good way to describe it, but I think
- 52:13our souls have their own unique language. And
- 52:16each person, when we. When we tap into the
- 52:20language of our own soul, that becomes the
- 52:22language that we speak. We resonate at. And the
- 52:26people who are. Who have souls that speak my
- 52:30language will be drawn towards me, and the ones
- 52:35that speak your language will be drawn towards
- 52:37you. We each are holding a piece of the puzzle,
- 52:41like you just said. And so our duty is to take it
- 52:45back out there and find the people that speak our
- 52:48language so we can spread the message. I mean,
- 52:51that sounds very religious or something, but you
- 52:55know, to, to help others navigate their own
- 52:58experience.
- 53:00Meredith Oke: Yes. Yeah, no, absolutely. And it could be, you
- 53:04know, you and I are doing podcasts, but it could
- 53:06just be like you're that person in, in your
- 53:09extended family or in your friend group. Yeah,
- 53:13that's like, seems kind of okay and, and chill.
- 53:17And so when someone needs to access that, like, I
- 53:21remember I heard a man, I think, I'm pretty sure
- 53:24it was a Christian man. It. But it doesn't
- 53:27matter. But he was saying that. What did he say?
- 53:31He said, you know, we have to, basically we have
- 53:35to have a spiritual practice so that when, when
- 53:41people need us and they will. We are who we say
- 53:44we are.
- 53:44Kelly Erickson: Yeah, yeah.
- 53:48Meredith Oke: And that, that always stayed with me. It's, it's
- 53:51like, you know, when someone reaches out, who are
- 53:57we?
- 53:57Kelly Erickson: Yeah, it's part of, it is also part of the
- 54:02nervous system work is understanding your own
- 54:05personal values. Because what those emotions,
- 54:08when they arise, what they're telling you is what
- 54:11you value. They're telling you about your own
- 54:15soul's values. And so if you're getting angry
- 54:20when someone lies, you value honesty, you value
- 54:24integrity, you value transparency, whatever.
- 54:28Right. And so that spiritual practice is making
- 54:33sure that you are connected to something higher
- 54:36than yourself and your soul and so that you are
- 54:40operating in alignment with your own personal
- 54:44values. Like you said. So when someone comes to
- 54:47you, you can, you are in alignment and you're not
- 54:52saying one thing and doing another.
- 54:57Meredith Oke: Right?
- 54:58Kelly Erickson: Yeah.
- 55:00Meredith Oke: So good. This has been so, so interesting, Kelly.
- 55:04I love it so much. Is there anything like coming
- 55:06to you that you want to say next or that you
- 55:10wanted to say that you haven't said?
- 55:12Kelly Erickson: No, I don't think so. I just the connection
- 55:16between the nervous system and consciousness. And
- 55:20then also you can add in the piece of like
- 55:22internal family systems model, which is the core
- 55:26self energy and the parts that we develop as like
- 55:29coping strategies to navigate the world. They're
- 55:33all describing the same thing. And so that makes
- 55:37the end goal from all three models. The end goal
- 55:42is love. So, you know, finding our way back to
- 55:47love in whichever way you can begin to do that
- 55:51and we can do it in very small ways in our day to
- 55:55day life so you don't have to go out and hire
- 55:57some coach and have some massive transformation.
- 56:01You know, you can do a lot of the work on your
- 56:03own at home.
- 56:05Meredith Oke: Yeah, it's true. It's in all the, all the little
- 56:08moments of the day. Although I will say working
- 56:11with someone is often helpful. So if anyone
- 56:14resonates, go work with Kelly.
- 56:16Kelly Erickson: Yeah, yeah, it definitely can. Yeah, yeah.
- 56:21Meredith Oke: Yeah. And then just to bring it back to the light
- 56:24piece before we wrap up, it's like, you know,
- 56:27I'll use myself as the example. Right. So I did a
- 56:30lot of, A lot of the work that, you know, you've,
- 56:33you're describing and I still got sick. And I
- 56:37think there was a part of me that was judging
- 56:39myself for that. And it's like, oh, if you've
- 56:41like mastered your. Mastered your mind and healed
- 56:44your childhood, like, what do you. Why are you
- 56:46getting sick? Right. But I was missing the, the
- 56:50piece where I understood the impact that my
- 56:52environment was having on me and, and
- 56:54particularly light. So I added that in and it was
- 56:57like, ha, ha. But I found over time that it's,
- 57:01you know, as you were saying at the beginning,
- 57:03it's like it's a spiral. And so I feel it then,
- 57:09you know, as I've infused myself with healthy
- 57:15light over time, that has called me to up level
- 57:18back in the other ways.
- 57:20Kelly Erickson: Yeah.
- 57:20Meredith Oke: And then I go back in the light and I'm starting
- 57:22to hear from people who've been doing this few
- 57:24years that they're like becoming off the charts
- 57:28intuitive, borderline psychic. And all of these
- 57:31things are starting to happen as we, as we
- 57:34continue continually move through.
- 57:38Kelly Erickson: Yeah. Because that love and light are synonymous
- 57:42with each other. They're often referred to as one
- 57:45and the same throughout ancient texts and
- 57:49history. Right. And so it's not surprising that
- 57:53going out into the sunlight expands your level of
- 57:57consciousness and unburdens the heart to some
- 58:01degree and fills you with love, you know? Pretty
- 58:08cool. It's pretty cool. It's all just so
- 58:11fascinating. It really is. And it's all so
- 58:15exciting. And to even have a platform to share
- 58:18this kind of information, like, I just never
- 58:21thought I. I never imagined this would be my life
- 58:25or that I would be sitting here talking to you
- 58:27about love and consciousness, light and all of
- 58:31these things. It's just, it's really profound. We
- 58:34live in a really awesome time.
- 58:38Meredith Oke: Yeah, I totally agree. I sometimes, and I was
- 58:42like working on that presentation and I'm like
- 58:44making notes about astrology and frequency. I was
- 58:49at a co working space and the woman next to me, I
- 58:52saw her glance down at my notes and I was like,
- 58:54yeah, this is what I'm doing for my job. It's
- 59:00pretty incredible. And then we have these
- 59:01platforms to share it. Yeah, no, we. I don't know
- 59:07what you know. I don't want to use terms that
- 59:14will activate people in one way or the other, but
- 59:16however we all ended up here at the same time in
- 59:19this moment of time is, as you said, deeply
- 59:24profound.
- 59:25Kelly Erickson: Yes. There are no coincidences. I don't believe
- 59:29so.
- 59:30Meredith Oke: Yeah.
- 59:31Kelly Erickson: Well, thank you so much, Meredith. I really
- 59:34appreciate it.
- 59:35Meredith Oke: Thank you for being here, Kelly. This was
- 59:37wonderful and we will be doing it again.
- 59:39Kelly Erickson: Okay, sounds great.
