- 0:00Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:03access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi, it's Adam here. And in this episode of The
- 0:44Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a hypnosis session
- 0:48that was created for a client that had.
- 0:51Very elevated levels. Of anxiety and an overactive
- 0:57sympathetic nervous system. This is the part of the nervous
- 1:01system that is in this fight or flight response.
- 1:05And this particular client that I was working with actually was
- 1:10using an element of high level manifestation to think of the
- 1:16ideal relationship that they would want.
- 1:20However, in their childhood, they felt at a very intense
- 1:26level that they were abandoned by certain family members at a
- 1:31young age. So working with this client, it
- 1:34was highly likely that there was a protective part and the other
- 1:39clue of this protective part that the client was saying that
- 1:42they were hearing in a dialogue that was stated.
- 1:45Like 1/3. Person it was saying you rather
- 1:49than I. And that combination.
- 1:51Of these things led me to believe that this particular
- 1:54client had a a part. Some people would call that an
- 1:59ego state, a resource state, an inner child, or just a
- 2:02conflicted part that was trying to keep them safe from something
- 2:07connected to what? A relationship.
- 2:10Would. Represent and that could be fear
- 2:13of the loss of that relationship, fear of rejection,
- 2:17betrayal, or indeed the part feeling like they would be
- 2:22neglected or be replaced by someone else.
- 2:26So in this particular session, what you're going to hear is not
- 2:31direct parts negotiation therapy, but an element to.
- 2:35Start. Communicating with this part to
- 2:38build rapport with this part and to make that part as well as the
- 2:44the overall client I was working with, feel safe.
- 2:49A lot of the sympathetic nervous system is a reaction to feeling
- 2:52unsafe and vulnerable and therefore.
- 2:55A lot. Of these suggestions are linked
- 2:57to this idea of feeling protected, loved and safe so
- 3:01that the whole nervous system can calm down.
- 3:04But I wanted to do this knowing that the next session with the
- 3:07client would be probably parts negotiation or parts integration
- 3:12therapy was to start building channels of communication with
- 3:17this particular part. I would say this is going to be
- 3:20very, very useful for anyone that feels like they are in a
- 3:26heightened state of anxiety. And that it is.
- 3:31Caused by some kind of conflict or inner turmoil within them, in
- 3:36which case you would benefit more from this session than just
- 3:39the average person. It was a particular climb that I
- 3:42was working with. Therefore the inner child is
- 3:45stated in the she gender rather than a neutral gender.
- 3:51And it's worth me kind of echoing or doubling down on this
- 3:55that almost all the client sessions that I do that I that I
- 3:58share, I'm working with a client, but then confidentially
- 4:02sharing that session. So you'll never know who the
- 4:06client I'm working with is, but I am sharing my words, my
- 4:12hypnosis that connected to that client.
- 4:14And that means that sometimes I'll get comments on YouTube or
- 4:19Spotify, they say, oh, why is this mentioned?
- 4:21Because that doesn't apply to me.
- 4:23And, and you're right, it doesn't, but it did apply to the
- 4:26client that I was working with. So if you feel that.
- 4:30Some of these. Sessions that you listen to
- 4:33aren't quite right for you. Well, there's two things you can
- 4:37do 1 you can search around. About 1000. 700 episodes that
- 4:42I've published and find the right one that does feel like a
- 4:45better fit. What some people choose to do
- 4:47though is work with me directly and there will be a link in the
- 4:50description where I've got free resources available.
- 4:53But one of those resources is to schedule a free consultation
- 4:57call to explore working with me. And then you would know that
- 5:01you're going to be working with me directly.
- 5:02And then the session is 100% calibrated and customized for
- 5:06you, rather than a recording which is customized for the
- 5:10original client that I was working with.
- 5:12So if that appeals to you, have a look in the description.
- 5:16For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 5:19won't be disturbed. Relax.
- 5:21And enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 6:15you breathe in, breathe in that calm, relaxed feeling of
- 6:21resourceful relaxation. And as you exhale, just allow
- 6:29yourself to breathe out, but continue to breathe out beyond
- 6:35your normal breath, almost taking two or three exhales,
- 6:43breathing out so much, and even holding that outward breath.
- 6:48So as you breathe in, you slowly start to activate your
- 6:53diaphragm. And as your diaphragm starts to
- 6:59expand, your breathing gets deeper and longer.
- 7:06And I want you to think of the most calming colour, the most
- 7:11soothing colour, and just imagine breathing in that
- 7:17colour. Make it glow, make it feel like
- 7:23a blanket for your soul and your nervous system.
- 7:27Warm, safe and cozy breathing in that colour of calm.
- 7:37And as you exhale just imagine a colour that represents anxiety,
- 7:47maybe something dark or intense. And as you exhale, just imagine
- 7:56on your outward breath, that color of anxiety is leaving your
- 8:01body. Breathing in calm and breathing
- 8:06out anxiety. That's it.
- 8:11Each breath means you're feeling more and more calm, and each
- 8:17exhale releases more and more anxiety.
- 8:24And maybe you could imagine one of those old fashioned scales
- 8:32and just imagine they're. Weighted too much.
- 8:35Anxiety and not enough calm. But each time you breathe in
- 8:39that color of calm, the scales start to shift like a child's
- 8:48seesaw in a park. We're tipping the balance,
- 8:54exhaling anxiety and breathing in calm so that each breath
- 9:01takes you even deeper. Relaxed.
- 9:05That's it. And maybe you can see those
- 9:11scales shifting, that seesaw balancing and tipping.
- 9:18Or maybe you could imagine what was that intense color of
- 9:23anxiety within? So much.
- 9:26Of it has left your body in your outward breath, you can now
- 9:31imagine more of that calm color within.
- 9:35Imagine breathing in that color of calm, and imagine that color
- 9:43of calm in your lungs, your heart taking that color of calm
- 9:48and distributing it to every cell in your body, and you'll
- 9:54know where you've been feeling more of that anxiety.
- 9:59For some people, it's there in the gut, the second brain.
- 10:05Sometimes it might be in the head, the chest, the neck, or
- 10:09the shoulders. But think about where anxiety
- 10:13has mainly been residing for you.
- 10:17And as you breathe in that color of calm, see more of that color
- 10:24in that location that anxiety used to reside, and continue to
- 10:30breathe out that color of anxiety, each breath taking you
- 10:38deeper and deeper, relaxed, more and more calm.
- 10:47And don't be surprised if you can loosen those muscles in your
- 10:51neck or your shoulders, your jaw.
- 10:57The breathing feels more and more relaxed and deeper.
- 11:05And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 11:10And the more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe.
- 11:14And as your body relaxes, your imagination awakens all parts of
- 11:23your imagination. And I wonder if there's a part
- 11:29within you that could imagine somewhere safe.
- 11:38A home perhaps either in your reality or a different one from
- 11:44your past, or even fictional. I wonder if you could imagine
- 11:50the safest, most loving home, and if you could imagine
- 11:57somewhere like that. Just imagine floating to that
- 11:59place at any age that feels useful.
- 12:06Maybe your current age, but maybe as a 14 year old, a 10
- 12:13year old or a six year old just float back towards that safe,
- 12:23loving family home. And then within that home, I
- 12:31want you to imagine a bedroom. The safest, most loving bedroom
- 12:39with clues of family and love. And maybe that's pictures.
- 12:48Maybe that's even the way that room is decorated.
- 12:53The kind of thing that would have required effort and love
- 12:56and consideration. I want you to think of a place
- 13:01that would be paradise, perhaps for that childlike version of
- 13:06you to feel safe. And maybe you could just know
- 13:14that there are other people in different rooms.
- 13:18You are not alone in this home, but you feel safe in that room.
- 13:26And then just imagine the most comfortable bed, a cosy, warm,
- 13:37safe bed. And I want you to imagine
- 13:42snuggling on that bed the way a child would, with the expression
- 13:47they would have if they were safe and loved.
- 13:53And maybe there's clues of things that would allude to
- 13:57safety. Maybe it's the type of building
- 14:06you know you're in, the type of location you're in.
- 14:10Well, the kind of people that are there to protect, to love,
- 14:15or to care. And I want you to imagine what
- 14:20it would be like to find the most comfortable position on
- 14:24that bed. Feeling safe, feeling loved,
- 14:31feeling protected. That's it.
- 14:35And maybe you can imagine your head on a pillow, duvet, or
- 14:42covers over you and just feel how good it feels to completely
- 14:51relax there. That's it.
- 14:56I'm going to countdown from 12:50 with each descending
- 15:02number I want. You to think.
- 15:04About relaxing a part of your body to take you even deeper,
- 15:07relaxed. 10 Just releasing any tension in your forehead.
- 15:17I said breathing in that colour of calm and just releasing any
- 15:20tension. That's it. 9 Just loosening your
- 15:29jaw, feeling like any tension around your jaw or your cheeks
- 15:34is just melting away. That's it taking you deeper and
- 15:40deeper, relaxed. And then eight, think about your
- 15:46breathing, breathing in through your nose and out through your
- 15:50nose, but just feel like your body's doing the work for you.
- 15:55You don't have to force a breath, just allow your body to
- 15:57breathe, continuing to breathe in that calm and exhaling any
- 16:03tension or anxiety. And then seven, just focus on
- 16:09your neck and your shoulders. And sometimes when there's been
- 16:14too much cortisol or adrenaline, those muscles around the neck
- 16:20and the shoulders could be tense and tight.
- 16:22And just imagine it's safe now to release that tension.
- 16:28Sometimes when people are anxious, they unconsciously have
- 16:32that brace position, but you don't need that brace position.
- 16:39So give permission to let go of that tension that's been keeping
- 16:45you. Steer for tight.
- 16:46That's it. Just release it now and then. 6
- 16:54Feel that relaxation spreading down your arms.
- 16:59Arms feeling limp, loose and heavy, almost like the limbs of
- 17:06a puppet with no strings. That's it, more and more
- 17:12relaxed. And then imagine your internal
- 17:17organs starting to relax. Your lungs, your heart, even
- 17:23your stomach. Just imagine it all relaxing as
- 17:28it feels like we're dialing down any anxiety.
- 17:33Anxiety is good if there's a threat, but you are safe here.
- 17:40Now to dial down all of that anxiety.
- 17:43You don't need it because when anxiety is dialed down, your
- 17:50body can naturally prioritize healing.
- 17:55When anxiety is high, everything outside of immediate survival is
- 18:01deprioritized. But you're safe now.
- 18:08You are safe. And as you dial down that
- 18:12anxiety, you are now prioritizing recuperation,
- 18:19rejuvenation, sleep, and recovery.
- 18:24And imagine that happening. Imagine the healing happening to
- 18:29all of your internal organs and five shifts to four.
- 18:35And now focus on your gut. And I want you to imagine your
- 18:40intestines like an old garden hose, old knotted, filled with
- 18:48holes. But I want you to imagine that
- 18:51now that you've dialed down anxiety, the healing is taking
- 18:56place in your gut. Your Biome is enhancing.
- 19:04All of those probiotics are healing your gut.
- 19:07And just imagine that old twisted leaky hose turning into
- 19:13a brand new garden hose. Imagine your gut healing.
- 19:18It's healthy. And because it's healthy, you
- 19:22can let go of any anxiety there in the gut.
- 19:26And the combination of that healed gut, that wonderful Biome
- 19:35filled with the right bacteria, means that you are awakening
- 19:40your second brain. And this second brain, your
- 19:44intuition, knows at your very core that you are safe.
- 19:54Your reaction wasn't to a reality, it was to a
- 19:57possibility. So we can calm down everything
- 20:03now. Your decisions will decide your
- 20:07future, and the safer you feel, the better your decisions
- 20:14become. Nobody makes great decisions
- 20:19when they're scared. That's it.
- 20:23Just feel any anxiety, any twisting or knotted sensations
- 20:29there in the gut, just evaporating, just diluting and
- 20:32melting away. And four becomes three.
- 20:36That starts to shift down into your legs.
- 20:41Initially the top of your legs as three becomes 2.
- 20:44Now your calf muscles just allow your legs to feel limp, loose
- 20:52and heavy. Now your arms, like your legs
- 20:57are like that puppet with no strings, just so relaxed.
- 21:02Now that's it. And then two becomes one.
- 21:08Just feel that relaxation, even in your ankle, your toes, feel
- 21:17that sensation of that's it, deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 21:27And I want you to imagine drifting off into a dreamlike
- 21:30sleep. And I want you to awaken that
- 21:36childlike version of you. And I know she's listening and I
- 21:49want to thank her because she is precious, valuable, diligent,
- 22:01working so hard to keep you safe.
- 22:06And that part within you has sometimes felt neglected.
- 22:13But it's working tirelessly for you.
- 22:18And I want to thank her for her wonderful intention.
- 22:30That's it. That part that has these
- 22:39wonderful intentions, has all of that tenacity.
- 22:46Deep down just wants what you want.
- 22:51Love connection to feel important.
- 23:03And that part within you will never be shut away.
- 23:11That part within you will never be rejected or hidden, will
- 23:18never be suppressed. That part is safe.
- 23:26That part will always be loved, but sometimes you can have two
- 23:36parts pulling in different directions.
- 23:45And sometimes what we think is anxiety is just the tension
- 23:51coming from pulling in different directions.
- 23:59And I know that part cares for you deeply.
- 24:04It's trying to protect you. And that part will only take you
- 24:16to that place where it's good for you and good for them, when
- 24:23they both feel happy, when they both feel safe.
- 24:29And sometimes the world is a scary place and sometimes
- 24:35there's things that feel emotionally painful.
- 24:41And the obvious thing to do is to try and avoid those things.
- 24:50But that part is a wonderful part.
- 24:57She doesn't need telling off or reprimanding or being ignored.
- 25:07She wants to work with you. And sometimes the intuition
- 25:15knows more than we think. And what seems like sabotage is
- 25:23just the power of the intuition, using creative strategies to
- 25:31keep safety and protection. And I want you to tell that part
- 25:40you will never abandoned her. I want you to tell that part
- 25:48that you will always listen. And she knows.
- 25:59And you know, it doesn't have to be win or lose.
- 26:08Sometimes it's about finding what's good for that part and
- 26:15good for you. A new destination.
- 26:22A destination that gives you the love that you desire and gives
- 26:32that precious part within you the safety and reassurance that
- 26:37they desire. And we don't have to figure out
- 26:41what that future is. Just be open to the possibility
- 26:46that it exists. And I want you to imagine a
- 26:59rose. A rose and a beautiful garden.
- 27:07And I want you to imagine you give this rose a name.
- 27:13Maybe you call it rosy or rosy, but just imagine a precious
- 27:20rose. You decide the colour of the
- 27:22petals, and I want you to see how fragile and delicate those
- 27:31petals are, but also how sharp those thorns are on the stem.
- 27:39And what if what you thought was sabotage, what you thought was
- 27:54somehow something bad? Even the anxiety could be to
- 28:00protect what is precious and fragile.
- 28:09And I want you to get a sense that those thorns have been
- 28:17built up over years, designed to keep you safe.
- 28:24To keep her safe. And what if you considered
- 28:32something so perfect that that Rose felt that it was going to
- 28:38be neglected and you were going to see something even more
- 28:41perfect than that Rose? And I want you to reassure that
- 28:47part that even if you find what you consider true love, that
- 28:58does not take away the love you have for that fragile,
- 29:06beautiful, delicate rose. And I also want you to reassure
- 29:14this part. It is not about one or the
- 29:20other. I want you to reassure that part
- 29:24that the only thing you're interested in is something that
- 29:30is good for you and good for them, because otherwise that
- 29:40part could feel rejected even if that wasn't your intention,
- 29:44could feel abandoned even if it wasn't your attention.
- 29:50But that isn't true and I want you to give that part all of the
- 29:54reassurance it needs, like a cozy warm blanket.
- 30:01That part all of the reassurance, the blanket, the
- 30:06hug, the cuddles. Even imagine just stroking their
- 30:14skin and just soothing that part until they feel safe, listen to
- 30:22and reassured. I just noticed.
- 30:28The physical. Changes in your body that as you
- 30:31reassure that part, your whole nervous system seems to calm
- 30:36down. That tension and anxiety can
- 30:43melt away. What if that part felt then, it
- 30:51had influence for years and years, and then wasn't going to
- 30:54be listened to? So you can reassure that part.
- 31:03That part is not an an enemy. It's not a saboteur.
- 31:12This part is your confidante, your cheerleader.
- 31:20This is a part that will help protect you in new ways, even if
- 31:25we don't know what those new ways are yet.
- 31:31And I want you to ask that part if it's happy to help you to
- 31:38find a future way forward that gives you the love that you
- 31:44desire while keeping all parts of you safe.
- 31:51Would it be open to that possibility?
- 31:59And if that part agrees, just let me know by nodding your head
- 32:04that's in and smile at that part.
- 32:10Tell that part that they are precious, they are loved, they
- 32:15are so important. Tell that part that you respect
- 32:25how badly they want to keep you safe.
- 32:30But also tell that part then anxiety leads to worst
- 32:37decisions, and worst decisions increase the possibility of
- 32:46being less safe. And you need the help of that
- 32:49part to dull down the anxiety so that better decisions can be
- 32:57made. Decisions that lead to love and
- 33:02safety. Not either or.
- 33:09And I want you to see the look on that part's face.
- 33:13They're given more responsibility, more influence.
- 33:22And if you can see that part smiling, let me know by nodding
- 33:26your head. That's it.
- 33:31And I want you to thank that part not just for the past, but
- 33:40for the future. Because the more resourceful you
- 33:45are, the better able you are to make great decisions.
- 33:51And the better your decisions, the more love and safety you
- 33:56have in your future. This part was never an enemy,
- 34:03always an ally. But sometimes the people that
- 34:10love you the most will do the most to try and protect you.
- 34:14And you can even thank that part for that because that's all
- 34:20they've been doing, trying to keep you safe.
- 34:38And I want you to feel a new bond being created.
- 34:45Not win or lose, not my way or the highway, but a partnership,
- 34:54a dream team. And I want you to ask that part
- 35:00honestly if it can help you more if you're anxious or if you're
- 35:07feeling resourceful. And if that part believes it can
- 35:17help you more if you're both resourceful and resourceful
- 35:22might be sky high confidence, self esteem, amazing sleep, and
- 35:30low anxiety. In that place, perhaps it's
- 35:36easier to manifest what you truly desire because it comes
- 35:41from alignment, not conflict. Everyone knows then when you're
- 35:50desperate for something, it can repel it.
- 35:54But if you can desire something, be open to it.
- 35:59Sometimes that can be a powerful magnet.
- 36:04So ask that part. Can it help you more from a
- 36:09place of resourcefulness or anxiety?
- 36:13And if it can help you more from that resourceful place, let me
- 36:17know about nodding your head. That's it.
- 36:21And a hug. That part, call that part by its
- 36:27name. Feel connected to that part.
- 36:36It's been helping you all this time, but sometimes it didn't
- 36:40feel like help. But what if it can truly help
- 36:46you at a whole new level now? Instead of you going in One
- 36:52Direction and this part going into a different, what if for
- 36:59the first time perhaps in years, you get to go to the same place
- 37:08and ask that part. If you could agree on that same
- 37:11place then before what felt like sabotage would now feel like
- 37:19help and ask if it's OK with that idea.
- 37:25Even if you don't know what that place is yet, but just being
- 37:30open to moving in the same direction.
- 37:35You need an ally, not an enemy. And just notice that the
- 37:46possibility of that place, that same direction that you're
- 37:50moving to, empowers this part. It doesn't have to use intrusive
- 38:01thoughts. It doesn't have to use
- 38:07sabotaging something valuable. Because when that part and you
- 38:13want the same thing, you turn tug of war, pulling in different
- 38:21directions into a three legged race where you're moving in the
- 38:25same direction. So the happier that part is, the
- 38:31happier you are. And the happier you are the
- 38:33happier that is. But most of all, tell that part
- 38:49they are safe. They are loved and now more than
- 38:55ever before they are listened to.
- 39:04Isn't it true that every child that is ignored, they either
- 39:08raise their voice or throw a tantrum?
- 39:12They crave the attention they need to be listened to.
- 39:18One of the cruelest things you can do to a child is pretend to
- 39:22be invisible. You don't see them, you don't
- 39:25hear them. To tell this part.
- 39:29You see them, you hear them, they matter and maybe they open
- 39:39up. And I want you to ask this part.
- 39:44It's positive intention, what it's been trying to do for you
- 39:47all this time, what it tells you.
- 39:52Just let me know by nodding your head.
- 40:01Maybe just ask this part if it does have a positive intention.
- 40:07You don't need to know it right now, but just you believe deep
- 40:10down that it has and it doesn't matter to you if it's
- 40:15protection, safety, love, or something else.
- 40:23But I want you to thank that part for its positive intention.
- 40:28Even if you don't know what that positive intention is yet, you
- 40:34can validate it is doing something positive for you
- 40:40without knowing the details. And I want you to tell that
- 40:47part. Whatever you do going forward,
- 40:55you will listen to them. You will take their input into
- 41:02this future so that it's safe for you and safe for them.
- 41:13And I don't want you to imagine holding the hand of this part
- 41:19and doing something together. It feels like harmony or
- 41:25connection. That feels like trust or
- 41:31recognition. Maybe that's play or something
- 41:37creative or something else to make this part feel.
- 41:45You are a team in harmony, not opposing forces in conflict.
- 42:03I want you to hug this part and tell them that whatever they
- 42:08have to say, you will listen. They are loved, they are
- 42:14listened to and thank them for helping you dial down all of
- 42:20that anxiety. They are safe, you are safe,
- 42:28everyone is safe. Don't be surprised in the next
- 42:34few days if you find yourself sleeping for deeper and longer,
- 42:41finding it easier to relax. And I want you to know for
- 42:47certain that whenever. You go to sleep.
- 42:51This part is with you. You are never alone because this
- 42:57part is with you and you are with them.
- 43:02So you don't need the help of friends or family members
- 43:10because you are with them and they are with you.
- 43:12And if that part feels that acknowledges that, let me know
- 43:19about nodding your head. That's it.
- 43:23To give them one last hug and tell them you'll be back.
- 43:29And then imagine finding yourself there in that dreamlike
- 43:34sleep, in that safe, loving family home, awakening from a
- 43:42dreamlike sleep within your imagination.
- 43:47And then imagine floating from that place all the way back to
- 43:50the here and the now. So take a deep breath in through
- 43:52your nose and out through your nose.
- 43:57Just wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 43:59Start to connect and calibrate into the here and the now.
- 44:03Feeling a healed relationship with such a precious part within
- 44:08you starting to count to awaken you. 123 waking up 456 more
- 44:19alert. 7-8 open your eyes. Open your eyes 910 Wide awake,
- 44:26Wide awake. Wide awake.
