When life gets shaky, most of us don’t panic first, we reach. We reach for the thing we believe will hold us up: money in the bank, a career move, a relationship, a political leader, an expert’s prediction, or our own ability to control the room. Isaiah 19:1–12 puts that reflex under a spotlight by showing what happens to Egypt, the powerful neighbor Judah wants on speed dial when danger shows up.
