- 0:01Speaker 1: She's on the Money.
- 0:02Speaker 2: She's on the Money.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Hello, and welcome to She's on the Money's Friday Drinks episode,
- 0:22Speaker 3: where every single Friday, we sit down and have a
- 0:25Speaker 3: drink together as a team. We chat about our money
- 0:27Speaker 3: wins and confessions from the week. We talk about what's
- 0:30Speaker 3: happened in the community, and we get to hear this
- 0:32Speaker 3: week Ryan John's six ish favorite money win.
- 0:36Speaker 4: It's not quite seven, but it's more than six. Yeah.
- 0:38Speaker 3: I asked you before starting recording, Oh, how many money
- 0:41Speaker 3: win seat six each?
- 0:42Speaker 5: And I was like, you know what, that is good enough.
- 0:44Speaker 5: It is Friday.
- 0:44Speaker 3: I cannot be bothered trying to work out how many
- 0:47Speaker 3: it is anymore, because you guys live for these. So
- 0:50Speaker 3: this week was a big week. We had a really
- 0:52Speaker 3: good money diary. We spoke to a debt free side
- 0:55Speaker 3: hustler who took a zoom pull from her car with
- 0:57Speaker 3: a toddler in the back, which I really really appre
- 1:00Speaker 3: sheated and I adored her story of going through a
- 1:03Speaker 3: lot of sh one t and coming out the other side.
- 1:07Speaker 3: She is really big in the debt free community on Instagram,
- 1:10Speaker 3: and to be honest, has been very pivotal in the
- 1:12Speaker 3: She's on the Money Community thus far.
- 1:15Speaker 5: And then on.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Wednesday we spoke about the very sexy topic of setting
- 1:19Speaker 3: up investments for your children, and Georgia King and I
- 1:21Speaker 3: had a lot of fun at recording this episode. And
- 1:24Speaker 3: next week you're going to hear about a child who
- 1:27Speaker 3: is actually making investment decisions for his family. He's only
- 1:30Speaker 3: seven years old, and I cannot wait for that to get.
- 1:33Speaker 4: In wrong, ye, wrong, And I mean sometimes some of
- 1:36Speaker 4: our stories are so great they're almost unrealistic and unrelatable,
- 1:40Speaker 4: and I feel like investing seven years old is going
- 1:43Speaker 4: to be right.
- 1:44Speaker 3: The seven year old is definitely up there, and you
- 1:48Speaker 3: know it might take a little bit of the shine
- 1:49Speaker 3: off at when you realize how it's working, but we
- 1:51Speaker 3: are going to leave it there.
- 1:52Speaker 4: He clickbait.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Don't I need to learn how to be more clickbaity.
- 1:57Speaker 3: I'm a financial advisor, not to create shoot it down
- 1:59Speaker 3: before the Sorry all right, sorry sounds. I loved it
- 2:05Speaker 3: as an episode. But this week we are, as always
- 2:08Speaker 3: joined by our friend Brian John, Jessica Ricci, and Georgia Kelly.
- 2:13Speaker 3: So let's jump straight into money wins or confessions. Hold
- 2:17Speaker 3: on getting a side eye. This week, we don't just
- 2:21Speaker 3: have a drink to share with you guys. We have
- 2:23Speaker 3: a drink and a snack, so we're gonna find out
- 2:27Speaker 3: where it comes from and what it is.
- 2:28Speaker 5: Jessica, what is it?
- 2:29Speaker 2: This week? We have a really fun one.
- 2:31Speaker 6: I think it may have gotten a little bit lost
- 2:34Speaker 6: in OZ post because it was part of a campaign
- 2:37Speaker 6: which has now finished.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Maybe we just got like, I guess I could use it.
- 2:48Speaker 6: But I'm really excited about it. No, it's a really
- 2:50Speaker 6: great idea. So obviously tourism took a hit this year
- 2:53Speaker 6: with covid or last year as well. Yes, but for us,
- 2:57Speaker 6: but regional travel for those here in Vic.
- 3:00Speaker 2: The Yarra Valley.
- 3:01Speaker 6: Wineries beautiful beverages, really a wholesomer vibe. And so what
- 3:07Speaker 6: they've done is put together an assortment of drinks from
- 3:11Speaker 6: local wineries and breweries and sent them over to us,
- 3:14Speaker 6: which I thought was really great. So I have four
- 3:17Speaker 6: different beverages here and we are going to fight to
- 3:19Speaker 6: the death.
- 3:20Speaker 4: I suppose have they not been named for each of us?
- 3:24Speaker 2: They weren't named. So if you hear something you like,
- 3:27Speaker 2: fists come out.
- 3:28Speaker 6: Okay, if you do want to see all of these Instagram,
- 3:31Speaker 6: it's Yarra Valley Dandyenong Rangers. I believe they have a
- 3:34Speaker 6: link to all.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Of these different local business Yes. Great.
- 3:37Speaker 6: So starting off, we have a fresh fruity floral Fizzy
- 3:42Speaker 6: Rose nickname in high school, and that comes from Helen
- 3:46Speaker 6: and Joey. Next up, we have a moscado from Soft
- 3:53Speaker 6: I'm really glad you all said that because that one's mine.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Also, can we just shout out innocent bystander? Whilst I
- 3:59Speaker 3: might not like a Moscado Georgia.
- 4:02Speaker 1: We got a bit sourced on the innocent bystander once.
- 4:11Speaker 3: And then trying to edit that one, we sat on
- 4:14Speaker 3: the floor in my study at my house.
- 4:16Speaker 5: It was fun down the glass of a glass. It
- 4:19Speaker 5: was a bottom of red and podcast. What did we do?
- 4:24Speaker 5: We didn't even know it was. You had a beanie
- 4:26Speaker 5: over your microphone.
- 4:27Speaker 1: It was very makeshift, it was. It was COVID cheek
- 4:31Speaker 1: quality content.
- 4:32Speaker 6: Moving right along, we have a parent apple cider from
- 4:37Speaker 6: Coldstream Brewery, and then lastly we have a hard cider
- 4:41Speaker 6: or a Louis has hardsider from Napoleon cold Stream as well.
- 4:46Speaker 5: Cute.
- 4:47Speaker 4: I think I'll go one of the ones from cold
- 4:49Speaker 4: Stream because I'm sort of out from that direction. In
- 4:52Speaker 4: alpham Pan and Hill Area.
- 4:53Speaker 3: So I like that's almost it sounds like the hard
- 4:55Speaker 3: cider kind of guy.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Yeah, give him the hard hard cider.
- 5:02Speaker 7: Are wetsta soft six right?
- 5:14Speaker 5: Nice? Nice?
- 5:15Speaker 1: Give Georgia the I'll have the side again.
- 5:19Speaker 5: She wants the rose.
- 5:21Speaker 6: Yeah, long winded Melbourne Gary Valley support local. If you
- 5:24Speaker 6: want to get youself a beverage, We're very into that.
- 5:26Speaker 6: So thanks to the team that senters over.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Yeah, so kind.
- 5:29Speaker 3: It's like getting presents in the mail when companies slide
- 5:32Speaker 3: into our DMS. They're like, hey, we have something we
- 5:34Speaker 3: think you love and we're like, we will love it.
- 5:36Speaker 5: Can we talk about it?
- 5:37Speaker 2: Even better? These guys literally just send it to the office.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Was Oh, they didn't even slide into our DMS. Surprise,
- 5:43Speaker 3: pr All right, well that is us gloating. Moving on
- 5:47Speaker 3: from gloating, I want to hear your money wins all
- 5:48Speaker 3: confessions from this week and this week very classy start.
- 5:53Speaker 3: We're going to start with Georgia. Georgia, what are you
- 5:55Speaker 3: bringing to the table this week?
- 5:56Speaker 1: I feel like we often start with me. We do,
- 5:59Speaker 1: but today I'm not mad about it because it actually
- 6:01Speaker 1: ties into the whole supporting regional off the back of
- 6:05Speaker 1: the horror that was last year and kind of continues
- 6:07Speaker 1: to be this year. So this weekend I'm going to
- 6:10Speaker 1: Dalsford fancy and lots of people probably know about the
- 6:14Speaker 1: two hundred dollars travel about that they're doing.
- 6:18Speaker 2: So I picked up.
- 6:18Speaker 4: One of those to apply for that. Or you buy
- 6:22Speaker 4: it and then you get a refund or how does
- 6:23Speaker 4: it actually work?
- 6:24Speaker 1: You buy your accommodation as you would normally, and then
- 6:27Speaker 1: the government kind of rebates it later on.
- 6:29Speaker 4: And if you go to one of the stock kind
- 6:31Speaker 4: of traditional B and b so, or you've got an airbnb.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Or what's the we're going to a little hotel.
- 6:38Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a little bit fat, see, a little bit na.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Yeah, and like you feel like you're a hero because
- 6:45Speaker 1: you're putting money back into that economy and like what.
- 6:48Speaker 5: Your caro status means to you.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Exactly right?
- 6:50Speaker 4: Good, it is beautiful though. Yeah.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Any recommendations and that I do.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Actually I went to the Convent Gardens on the weekend
- 6:58Speaker 3: with Steph and we had a little grazing table and
- 7:01Speaker 3: a couple of proseccos outside, which was delightful.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Good.
- 7:05Speaker 3: But I would recommend booking actually because that leads in
- 7:08Speaker 3: and I'm going to just take the limelight now to
- 7:11Speaker 3: my money win slash loss, and that actually also involves
- 7:14Speaker 3: dales Fed. Steph and I, Steph being my best friend,
- 7:18Speaker 3: went up to Dalesford for a day.
- 7:21Speaker 5: It was a day.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Trip, definitely not overnight. We're not bougie. And we got there,
- 7:26Speaker 3: had lunch, thought we'd go for a couple of cocktails
- 7:28Speaker 3: at some of the fancier restaurants around town. Turns out
- 7:32Speaker 3: we couldn't get in because COVID, And so that's my
- 7:34Speaker 3: money win. I didn't spend any money money else when
- 7:37Speaker 3: I went on a day trip to Dalesford, I just
- 7:41Speaker 3: spent it on one glass of prosecco, some hot chips,
- 7:43Speaker 3: and a scone that made my tummy hurts so bad
- 7:46Speaker 3: it was not so Yeah, that's my story and my
- 7:50Speaker 3: money win slash loss. Like drove all the way there,
- 7:53Speaker 3: had a good day, but didn't spend heaps of money.
- 7:56Speaker 4: I've noticed in the group there has been a lot
- 7:57Speaker 4: of this is sort of a wind, but a loss
- 8:00Speaker 4: lost in a win with that kind of thing, like
- 8:01Speaker 4: something fell through that I was planning on spending heaps on.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Is that a win?
- 8:05Speaker 3: I'm really grateful that my community grabs its straws in
- 8:08Speaker 3: much the same way. I yeah, yeah, yeah, Have you
- 8:11Speaker 3: got a money win or confession for us this week?
- 8:13Speaker 4: I've got a win, and it's not a traditional win,
- 8:16Speaker 4: but I feel like it's a win. Nonetheless, I lost
- 8:19Speaker 4: my wedding ring. What yeah for about?
- 8:23Speaker 2: You said that very casually, Well.
- 8:25Speaker 4: It's casual now it was serious because money win, I
- 8:28Speaker 4: don't have to buy another one. I found it. And
- 8:32Speaker 4: when I say I found it, I actually couldn't find
- 8:34Speaker 4: my wallet, which you guys know is very common occurrence
- 8:36Speaker 4: for me. I just leave stuff everywhere.
- 8:38Speaker 5: Jess is also the same.
- 8:39Speaker 3: I found it right multiple times in my car and
- 8:42Speaker 3: called her and been like, hey, have you wallet, and
- 8:43Speaker 3: she's just like do you And I'm like, it's been
- 8:45Speaker 3: there for three days.
- 8:47Speaker 4: So I was missing my wedding ring for about six weeks.
- 8:50Speaker 4: And then on the weekend I lost my wallet and
- 8:53Speaker 4: Bridget's like, I bet if I go into the car,
- 8:54Speaker 4: I'll find it right away, and I was like, we'll
- 8:56Speaker 4: just do it then. So she goes into the car
- 8:58Speaker 4: and comes back thirty seconds later with my and my
- 9:00Speaker 4: wedding You're an idiot. So that saved me buying another one.
- 9:05Speaker 4: But quickly, let's go around the room. How much do
- 9:07Speaker 4: you think I paid for my wedding ring?
- 9:09Speaker 5: This is a trick question for me because I know
- 9:12Speaker 5: the other people in the room.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Well, I don't even know what the average would be,
- 9:15Speaker 1: So I'm going to say like fifty bucks, because I
- 9:18Speaker 1: feel like the story is that it's really cheap.
- 9:20Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, that's see where I'm going with you.
- 9:24Speaker 5: So much to people spend on wedding rings, they only
- 9:26Speaker 5: work at.
- 9:26Speaker 6: A jewelry store, and men's obviously significantly cheap. Are like
- 9:29Speaker 6: yours is just a band?
- 9:30Speaker 4: Right? What do you mean? Just a band?
- 9:33Speaker 6: It's his wedding a beautiful but like you don't have
- 9:35Speaker 6: a stone in it? Do you like a fine band?
- 9:39Speaker 4: Generally?
- 9:39Speaker 6: Like anywhere from like two fifty to seven or eight
- 9:43Speaker 6: hundreds a broad rage.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I'm gonna take it tap and say like four hundred bucks.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Yeah, so I went shopping at Lord Coconut with a friend.
- 9:50Speaker 4: He got his for nine hundred, another friend got his
- 9:53Speaker 4: for eleven hundred. But mine can well done. Georgia King,
- 9:56Speaker 4: fifty bucks? What I we Yeah, that's amazing. I like
- 10:03Speaker 4: that it's fine, and we spent enough on bridgets, so
- 10:06Speaker 4: I thought I'll.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Just take on for the team.
- 10:08Speaker 5: I like I like that bridges right taste.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Thank you appreciate that. It's all her.
- 10:15Speaker 6: Jess working on the free flowing segue. Mine is wallet
- 10:19Speaker 6: loss related.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Loss.
- 10:22Speaker 6: But Sarah Shokara, I was late to work this morning.
- 10:26Speaker 6: Not my fault, was in your fault, huge amounts of
- 10:28Speaker 6: traffic on the freeway.
- 10:29Speaker 5: It wasn't her fault.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Because she always comes up with a really good excuse. Yeah,
- 10:32Speaker 3: but what do we say in the team an excuse?
- 10:34Speaker 3: Is just that an excuse?
- 10:40Speaker 5: You've said that to me.
- 10:44Speaker 4: I've never heard that from Victoria.
- 10:46Speaker 5: No, I'm always like you do you boo boo?
- 10:48Speaker 6: Anyway, because I am prone to losing my wallet, I
- 10:51Speaker 6: do not keep money in the account attached to my
- 10:54Speaker 6: card because I'm like Fellows, it potentially problematic.
- 10:57Speaker 5: So she's a card in your wallet, I have money
- 11:00Speaker 5: on it.
- 11:01Speaker 6: Yeah, So anyone who might steal my wallet, no, don't try. No,
- 11:06Speaker 6: So I don't keep money in that account. And then
- 11:08Speaker 6: today I was late to get into the car park
- 11:10Speaker 6: and they charge you through the nose if you don't
- 11:13Speaker 6: come in within the hour that you're looked. And so
- 11:16Speaker 6: I went in and tapped my card all as well.
- 11:18Speaker 6: When I went to tap out on my way over here,
- 11:21Speaker 6: it wouldn't process. It wanted to charge me in extra
- 11:23Speaker 6: thirty bucks on top of the twenty bucks i'd already
- 11:25Speaker 6: paid when I booked, money lost potentially, but it didn't
- 11:29Speaker 6: go through because there's no money in that account. I
- 11:31Speaker 6: just hit the little dial and was like, hey, like
- 11:34Speaker 6: I pre booked, I can't get out. I'm not sure
- 11:36Speaker 6: what's going on, and they're like, oh, we're so sorry.
- 11:38Speaker 6: Lifted the boomgate and out I went money. I mean,
- 11:43Speaker 6: I spent less time in their car park. Surely it
- 11:46Speaker 6: should be cheaper, not more expensive.
- 11:49Speaker 5: Yeah, that's true. It's a very very valid point.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I like it.
- 11:53Speaker 5: Happy with her, I'm really impressed.
- 11:55Speaker 3: But what I want to hear next is Ryan's six
- 11:59Speaker 3: ish moneys, that Ake's favorite from our community.
- 12:02Speaker 5: This week.
- 12:03Speaker 3: We're gonna have Ryan's six ish money wins in a
- 12:06Speaker 3: hot second.
- 12:13Speaker 5: All right, Ryan, let's jump straight into this.
- 12:15Speaker 3: I want to hear your best money wins or confessions
- 12:19Speaker 3: from our community this week, and you, before getting into them,
- 12:22Speaker 3: are going to tell me whether they're going to be
- 12:24Speaker 3: in an ascending or descending order.
- 12:26Speaker 4: Do you mean, like, is the best one going to
- 12:28Speaker 4: be last? Yeah?
- 12:29Speaker 5: Is the best one going to be last? Or first?
- 12:31Speaker 4: I don't think it's the best money win, but it's
- 12:33Speaker 4: my favorite money win.
- 12:35Speaker 5: Save that for last. Okay, save that for last.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Actually, quick question. Obviously, iceed coffees are awesome in summer.
- 12:42Speaker 4: Iced coffee is not in some of those yeah, yes,
- 12:45Speaker 4: or no iced coffee all the time? Okay, even in winter.
- 12:48Speaker 5: Yeah, I'd love it.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yeah, even in winter.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Yes.
- 12:52Speaker 2: I don't drink coffee. Please don't strain me.
- 12:54Speaker 4: Okay, what do you drink?
- 12:59Speaker 2: Pepsi?
- 13:04Speaker 5: She also drinks.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Hot chocolate so Jade Courtney says, I am obsessed with
- 13:09Speaker 4: iced coffees. And in the last few weeks, I've been
- 13:11Speaker 4: traveling a lot, and I was moving house and I
- 13:13Speaker 4: spent about sixty dollars on iced coffees in just a
- 13:16Speaker 4: week or two.
- 13:17Speaker 5: That's a leafy funny. Yeah, it's a lot of milk
- 13:19Speaker 5: as well, ye.
- 13:20Speaker 4: She said. I now have a coffee machine at home,
- 13:22Speaker 4: and I bought the five dollar caramel syrup, so now
- 13:25Speaker 4: I can make the best ice coffees myself. Money. And
- 13:29Speaker 4: we've had a lot of coffee relaid winds in the
- 13:30Speaker 4: last few weeks. But here, I don't think we've heard
- 13:33Speaker 4: this yet. I also reuse all my coffee ground so
- 13:36Speaker 4: I make lip scrubs, body scrubs.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Hand wash and more.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Yes, I'll never need to buy any sort of scrub
- 13:42Speaker 4: again because I'm all scrubbed up.
- 13:44Speaker 3: That's impressive, But do you know how easy it is
- 13:46Speaker 3: to do? You just take the grounds from your coffee
- 13:48Speaker 3: and mix it with like honey, awesome, even water if
- 13:52Speaker 3: you really want to be a bit basic or coconut
- 13:54Speaker 3: oil is a very top contender. And then if you
- 13:56Speaker 3: add some essential oils, it'd be smelly and it will
- 13:59Speaker 3: literally be like frank body. You can like custom make
- 14:03Speaker 3: your own sense.
- 14:05Speaker 5: Obviously, coffee is gone.
- 14:06Speaker 4: To be the base victory Devine. Can I just say
- 14:09Speaker 4: that's some very valuable information, But it also did downplay
- 14:12Speaker 4: the skill.
- 14:13Speaker 5: Involved with No, it's not like in super savagy.
- 14:16Speaker 4: It's pretty easier.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Anyone can do it.
- 14:21Speaker 5: Why does everybody say this sound like a nasty pasty
- 14:24Speaker 5: on this.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Chee Butjunior, well stop using terms like a nasty pasty.
- 14:29Speaker 4: But Tunia says money win. I've been looking in to
- 14:31Speaker 4: get an eyebrow micro blader this year.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Micro blading have you heard of that, like she's going
- 14:37Speaker 3: to do it herself or she's going to get a She.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Said, Okay, it's very expensive, but I was going to
- 14:42Speaker 4: bite the bullet as it saves time in the morning.
- 14:45Speaker 4: What is a micro bullet? What am I explaining?
- 14:48Speaker 3: So what you're explaining is micro blading tattooing, which if
- 14:51Speaker 3: you look at my face, you'll see two big tattoos
- 14:54Speaker 3: on my face that you probably didn't know what.
- 14:57Speaker 5: My eyebrows are. Indeed, Fate, that makes.
- 15:00Speaker 4: A lot of sense now, especially the photos I saw
- 15:01Speaker 4: of you when you were younger with those eyebrows when
- 15:03Speaker 4: you're sixteen.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Now there's sixteen year old Victoria One eyebrows are horrendous
- 15:07Speaker 3: on Instagram.
- 15:08Speaker 5: Of course you can. I'm not ashamed of who I
- 15:11Speaker 5: used to be.
- 15:12Speaker 3: She made me who I am today, and that is
- 15:14Speaker 3: a girl with good eyebrows because I learnt a lot.
- 15:16Speaker 4: So apparently this microblading and V I'm not asking you
- 15:18Speaker 4: to divulge, but.
- 15:20Speaker 5: No, I'm happy to divulge. We talk about money on
- 15:22Speaker 5: this podcast, but.
- 15:22Speaker 4: Junior says, you can pay six hundred and fifty bucks
- 15:24Speaker 4: for this, if not more.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I have, And do you want to
- 15:29Speaker 3: know this or is this too pervy? Like, is this
- 15:30Speaker 3: just gonna go to her bus? I once spent twelve
- 15:34Speaker 3: hundred dollars on an eye round. Yeah, and it wasn't
- 15:38Speaker 3: even that good. It was literally it was from quote
- 15:43Speaker 3: the best person in Melbourne, and I had to have
- 15:45Speaker 3: them fixed.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Wow, they get a refund twelve hundred bucks.
- 15:49Speaker 5: I didn't. I didn't even bother, Like.
- 15:52Speaker 4: You just avoid that awkward conversation.
- 15:53Speaker 3: I didn't want to have that conversation. But they weren't good.
- 15:56Speaker 3: The color is off, and it turns out micro blading
- 15:58Speaker 3: is not that good your skin because it creates really
- 16:01Speaker 3: bad scar tissues. So it might look really good for
- 16:03Speaker 3: the first twelve months, but after that, like they fade
- 16:06Speaker 3: and you end up with scars on your face. So
- 16:08Speaker 3: you should actually look at normal tattooing. But that's just
- 16:10Speaker 3: a side note.
- 16:11Speaker 4: Again, not to attack it out, shut down, to shut down,
- 16:14Speaker 4: no no.
- 16:14Speaker 5: But like pet says, something else.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Petunia says, the place I wanted to go to said
- 16:20Speaker 4: they needed brow models, and instead of paying the six
- 16:23Speaker 4: hundred and fifty, she got it done for ninety dollars.
- 16:26Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, that's actually a money win.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Huge money win and then here's the issious one. Issus
- 16:31Speaker 4: banker Lee said, Oh my god, I did that too.
- 16:34Speaker 4: It was supposed to be seven hundred and fifty, but
- 16:35Speaker 4: I got it done for one hundred and fifty dollars.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Every couple of months they want to try a new
- 16:39Speaker 4: technique or a new machine, so you could come in
- 16:40Speaker 4: and get it done cheap.
- 16:41Speaker 5: Hey, it's actually money win.
- 16:42Speaker 3: That stuff can be expensive and as I said before,
- 16:45Speaker 3: twelve hundred dollars for a set of browse.
- 16:47Speaker 6: Someone also shared a post this week in a similar
- 16:50Speaker 6: vein about beauty schools and how all of their students
- 16:53Speaker 6: are always needing to test like hairstyling or massage or
- 16:56Speaker 6: like pretty much any treatment you can think of.
- 16:58Speaker 4: I think maybe I saw that as well, because someone
- 17:00Speaker 4: they went to a hairdresser that they were, you know,
- 17:02Speaker 4: the final stage of their apprenticeship and it's not cheaper
- 17:04Speaker 4: and they yeah, So.
- 17:05Speaker 2: If money's a bit tired, or if you just want
- 17:06Speaker 2: to save some cash local beauty.
- 17:08Speaker 3: School, I don't know why you wouldn't, because they're supervised
- 17:11Speaker 3: by professionals.
- 17:11Speaker 5: It's not just from random and not just take.
- 17:14Speaker 4: It's welcome to day one. Figure it out for yourself.
- 17:19Speaker 5: Yeah, no, it's not like that at all.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Amanda Chan says, I cleared two hundred dollars pure profit
- 17:24Speaker 4: in February alone from eBay flipping. It's never going to
- 17:29Speaker 4: be my true replacement of my full time income, but
- 17:31Speaker 4: it's a nice little hobby that I actually enjoy doing,
- 17:34Speaker 4: and it gives me a little bit of extra money
- 17:35Speaker 4: so I can indulge in my op shopping habit.
- 17:37Speaker 5: How good, two hungy.
- 17:39Speaker 4: I actually love the idea that you can have a
- 17:42Speaker 4: hobby or something you enjoy that pays for itself, even
- 17:45Speaker 4: if it's not making profit. If you go, hey, I
- 17:47Speaker 4: like buying new clothes, so I make a bit of
- 17:49Speaker 4: money from the clothes, then I can spend that on
- 17:50Speaker 4: more clothes. It's like, you've got this hobby that just
- 17:52Speaker 4: doesn't cost your sense very.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Efficient, awesome, and if you make less than I think
- 17:56Speaker 3: it's four and a half thousand dollars, if you don't
- 17:57Speaker 3: have to pay tax on it.
- 17:58Speaker 4: If it is a hobby, can you explain what isn't
- 18:01Speaker 4: is not a hobby? Because I reckon I got a
- 18:03Speaker 4: bit generous with what could be a hobby.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, okay, well I can tell you right now
- 18:09Speaker 3: uber driving, not a hobby an actual income.
- 18:11Speaker 4: That was the actually one I tried to Hello, I
- 18:16Speaker 4: drove home in canbra post three weekends, I drove over.
- 18:18Speaker 5: Yeah, not a hobby.
- 18:20Speaker 3: Yeah, but sorry to attack you. There seems to be
- 18:23Speaker 3: Victoria attacking everybody on the pod today. But yeah, it's
- 18:27Speaker 3: a legit hobby. Like if it's just you're doing it
- 18:29Speaker 3: for fun, you're not doing it for an income, and
- 18:30Speaker 3: you're making two hundred bucks a month.
- 18:32Speaker 5: I would argue that you should be talking to your
- 18:34Speaker 5: accountant about classifying that one as a hobby.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Also, when I was an uber driver, I used to
- 18:39Speaker 4: go to the Army barracks in Canberra and there would
- 18:42Speaker 4: be like a lady that was like leaving one of
- 18:44Speaker 4: the guys room, and I would drive her back to
- 18:46Speaker 4: the residents of the University of Canberra and then I would
- 18:49Speaker 4: probably pick up a guy there and taking back to
- 18:50Speaker 4: the Army barracks and you just go back and back.
- 18:53Speaker 5: That's nice. I'm sure that they are like, oh, yeah,
- 18:55Speaker 5: that definitely happens. Not HEAVYQ.
- 18:58Speaker 2: What was your uber rating? Did you have five starts?
- 19:02Speaker 6: Oh?
- 19:02Speaker 4: I actually don't know. You only did it for a
- 19:04Speaker 4: few weekends. Because of this and I tried to do
- 19:06Speaker 4: a radio segment. It didn't really work, and then I
- 19:08Speaker 4: ended up just having one night stands in the back
- 19:10Speaker 4: of my cart. But there were the people I was
- 19:13Speaker 4: driving home. They were the people I was driving home.
- 19:19Speaker 4: They were having one night stand.
- 19:20Speaker 3: How do you know they were in commuter relationships with
- 19:22Speaker 3: people in the army barracks.
- 19:23Speaker 5: That is very judgmental of you.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Who gets an uber home from two am from their
- 19:28Speaker 4: partner's house.
- 19:29Speaker 5: They had a fight. I don't know, I feel like
- 19:32Speaker 5: room on those army barrack bunks.
- 19:34Speaker 2: So just a quick visits.
- 19:35Speaker 5: How don't you know there are bunks in the army barks.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Guess let's just push on. Hey, Melina Jones says, I
- 19:46Speaker 4: bought a brand new literally tag still on it, seed
- 19:49Speaker 4: heritage jumpsuit from the op shop, and he guesses what
- 19:53Speaker 4: they're normally worth because seeds like.
- 19:57Speaker 5: Pretty nice, it's lovely.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Maybe one six.
- 20:00Speaker 5: I was going to say that one eighty nine.
- 20:03Speaker 4: Molina said she looked it up and it was one
- 20:05Speaker 4: hundred and seventy dollars brand.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Ye, that one friend she got hold on and I close,
- 20:11Speaker 3: you're closer, You're closer.
- 20:12Speaker 5: Sorry, I tried to steal that. Don't take my.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Win from me.
- 20:14Speaker 4: She got it for forty dollars with the tags still
- 20:17Speaker 4: on very good money, so good, all right, uh Nia
- 20:22Speaker 4: says I called my bank and got my interest rate
- 20:24Speaker 4: reduced by zero point eighty nine percent. That's a pretty
- 20:28Speaker 4: big decrease, that is, and it's now got a too
- 20:30Speaker 4: in front of it.
- 20:32Speaker 5: We want.
- 20:33Speaker 4: I'm looking at a saving of at least two thousand,
- 20:35Speaker 4: five hundred dollars as a result. That is massive. Well,
- 20:39Speaker 4: I love that and now actually, and it's.
- 20:42Speaker 5: Not that hard to pick up your phone and ask
- 20:45Speaker 5: for a lawarete.
- 20:46Speaker 6: We've had heaps of people messaging here saying they've used
- 20:49Speaker 6: the plate together and they loving it. Yeah, so heaps
- 20:53Speaker 6: of people are getting discounts, so honestly, try it. Worse
- 20:56Speaker 6: they can say, is no, is there.
- 20:58Speaker 3: A way that we can track how much this is
- 21:00Speaker 3: on the money community saves from just asking for a
- 21:03Speaker 3: discount on stuff?
- 21:04Speaker 5: How cool would that be? There's really not Ba's rhetorical.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Maybe we'll put it in our next research survey. Thing.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Did you say that's because of cheese on the money?
- 21:12Speaker 4: You know what we probably do? We are something similar, right,
- 21:16Speaker 4: I haven't.
- 21:16Speaker 5: Ever asked because of us or something.
- 21:18Speaker 3: I might have said how much you you saved in
- 21:20Speaker 3: the last twelk months, and that would be taking major
- 21:22Speaker 3: liberties if I was like, ah, because of.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Us all of that.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Speaking of liberty is you know newspapers, for every one
- 21:29Speaker 4: newspaper they sell, they count that as four people reading it.
- 21:33Speaker 4: Why because it sounds like that. Yeah, but it sounds
- 21:37Speaker 4: like more people buying newspapers. So when they sell to advertisers,
- 21:40Speaker 4: they can actually jack the numbers. So, speaking of taking liberties, Hello,
- 21:45Speaker 4: our friends at the Held Sun.
- 21:48Speaker 5: I'm going to be in the Herald Sun really soon.
- 21:50Speaker 4: So well, whatever they tell you, divide that by right,
- 21:55Speaker 4: that's the scary music because we're about to announce the
- 21:57Speaker 4: money win of the week.
- 21:58Speaker 5: Oh is it a scary money you in?
- 22:00Speaker 4: This is supposed to be suspense.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I'm trying.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Is it working? Yeah?
- 22:05Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 22:07Speaker 5: Sure you want to lock him b Yeah, we.
- 22:09Speaker 4: Were talking about this earlier. Riley Elliott money win. That's
- 22:17Speaker 4: actually freaking out a little bit. I went out for
- 22:20Speaker 4: lunch and drinks with some girlfriends on the weekend. We
- 22:23Speaker 4: ordered a bottle of prosecco to share. None the one
- 22:28Speaker 4: we wanted to order wasn't available. So they said, oh, sorry,
- 22:32Speaker 4: we can't actually give you that the more expensive one
- 22:34Speaker 4: we still have in stock. But because that's our fault,
- 22:36Speaker 4: we're going to give you the most expensive one at
- 22:39Speaker 4: the price of the cheaper proseccoeynchlls.
- 22:49Speaker 1: T.
- 22:50Speaker 5: This is what freaking was during the other weekend of
- 22:52Speaker 5: the curve.
- 22:53Speaker 1: I was you get a shut You get a shut?
- 22:57Speaker 3: God?
- 22:58Speaker 4: All right?
- 22:58Speaker 3: I think that is more than enough from the She's
