- 0:21Speaker 1: We help you shed the shame, grow to a new level.
- 0:23Speaker 1: We're going to laugh, cry, and talk about the topics
- 0:25Speaker 1: everyone else is too afraid to talk about.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Get ready for your next level self.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Hello, everybody. Welcome back to She Rises. Thank you for
- 0:33Speaker 1: joining us wherever you are in the world, morning, midday, afternoon.
- 0:37Speaker 1: We appreciate you being here. We are your hosts, Tiana
- 0:39Speaker 1: and Ashley. And today, we're going to be talking about
- 0:42Speaker 1: why we chose 12 months, not 12 weeks or 28
- 0:46Speaker 1: days on your self-development journeys. We're going to more depth.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Before we do, we've got our shares of the week.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Do you want me to go first?
- 0:52Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Okay. So recently, I went for a little stake, eh?
- 0:56Speaker 1: It's called Inverstanley and it's a farm stay. It's about
- 0:59Speaker 1: two hours from the Gold Coast, like literally a two
- 1:01Speaker 1: hour drive from my house. It was so beautiful, so peaceful,
- 1:06Speaker 1: 4,000 acres, pool, tennis court, huge backyard, big house, homely, spacious,
- 1:14Speaker 1: fresh air. It was just so beautiful. It was like
- 1:17Speaker 1: a really nice nervous system reset. Actually a wedding location.
- 1:20Speaker 1: So if you're looking for a really different wedding location,
- 1:22Speaker 1: I would highly recommend checking this out too because it's
- 1:25Speaker 1: You've got the land and then it's got this big
- 1:26Speaker 1: lake and there's mountains in the background. So pretty. So
- 1:28Speaker 1: you've got water, greenery and mountains. Like the photos would
- 1:31Speaker 1: just be incredible and just so much space. So yeah, Inverstanley.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I did a little reels on my Instagram so you
- 1:38Speaker 1: guys can go and check it out. But it was
- 1:39Speaker 1: just absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend. I love farmstays, just
- 1:42Speaker 1: being out in nature.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Honestly, connecting back to nature after being in the city
- 1:45Speaker 2: or Too much on technology is the best thing for
- 1:48Speaker 2: your nervous system.
- 1:49Speaker 1: We took our neighbors and their kids as well, and
- 1:51Speaker 1: they've got three kids, and we just played touch footy
- 1:53Speaker 1: and cricket and tennis and tag and just running around
- 1:57Speaker 1: and being active with them. We had no screen time
- 1:59Speaker 1: apart from when we watched the football, actually. Footy family.
- 2:02Speaker 1: But other than that, there was no screen time at all.
- 2:03Speaker 1: It was so beautiful.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Oh, so nice.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Oh, you come back feeling so refreshed after going to
- 2:07Speaker 2: something like that.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Love that. My share of the week is actually a book.
- 2:12Speaker 2: It's actually called The New Psycho-Cybernetics. So the way that
- 2:16Speaker 2: you spell that in case you want to write it
- 2:17Speaker 2: down is P-S-Y-C-H-O-C-Y-B-E-R-N-E-T-I-C-S.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Sorry about that.
- 2:28Speaker 2: That is a mouthful. But I wanted to share this
- 2:31Speaker 2: book with you because this book has been really helpful
- 2:33Speaker 2: for me in terms of like shifting. It's very much
- 2:35Speaker 2: like shifting identities. And I think this is a really
- 2:38Speaker 2: powerful book. like a manifestation technique kind of thing, but
- 2:41Speaker 2: it also mixes with like science and like epigenetics and like,
- 2:45Speaker 2: it can be scientific, but it's also storytelling. And it
- 2:48Speaker 2: also really is just a really cool way through this
- 2:51Speaker 2: man's life. He talks about how he went through a
- 2:54Speaker 2: huge journey of having absolutely nothing and then coming into,
- 2:57Speaker 2: you know, a lot of success in his writing career.
- 3:00Speaker 2: And then eventually, you know, ending up in like a
- 3:01Speaker 2: presidential suite and like just the contrast between his life
- 3:05Speaker 2: prior versus his life after and how he, through doing
- 3:08Speaker 2: internal identity work, transformed his life. And he talks about
- 3:12Speaker 2: it in the book and gives you strategies on how
- 3:13Speaker 2: you can do that for yourself. And I remember reading
- 3:16Speaker 2: it for the first time, walking on the beach on
- 3:17Speaker 2: the Gold Coast and just being like, oh my God.
- 3:20Speaker 2: I remember having these like perspective shifts one after the
- 3:23Speaker 2: other and being like, I can apply this to my life.
- 3:25Speaker 2: And wow, I see how this is relevant for me.
- 3:27Speaker 2: And it helped me elevate my own identity.
- 3:30Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 3:31Speaker 2: And I think if you're into that kind of work,
- 3:32Speaker 2: you will love this book because I've read it like
- 3:35Speaker 2: two times now. I'm going to go for a third
- 3:36Speaker 2: time soon and just reread it because I really do
- 3:40Speaker 2: believe that you can always find new nuggets every time
- 3:43Speaker 2: that you read something.
- 3:43Speaker 1: And you audiobook that, hey? Absolutely. Yeah. I forget about audiobooks.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Because when I hear you say read, I'm like, oh,
- 3:49Speaker 1: I just struggle to get into reading a physical book.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 1: But I do like the experience of turning pages.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:54Speaker 1: But audio is so good.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I feel like I retain more when I read a
- 3:57Speaker 2: physical book.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Same.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Because I think when I read audio books, if I'm
- 4:00Speaker 2: not paying attention, I can do other things at the
- 4:02Speaker 2: same time.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Right.
- 4:03Speaker 2: And then it kind of just goes over my head. Yes.
- 4:05Speaker 2: So I try to really listen while I'm mostly walking. Yeah.
- 4:08Speaker 1: So you can be fully present. Yeah.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Or if I'm cleaning, then I find I'm okay.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:12Speaker 1: That's cool. I need to listen to that. Love that.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Back on my book train this year.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Oh, so good. So good. I have not been.
- 4:19Speaker 2: No, I haven't been, which is why I'm starting. I
- 4:21Speaker 2: missed it.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Never too late to start. Absolutely. So good. All right.
- 4:25Speaker 1: So today we want to talk about our 12-month transformational
- 4:28Speaker 1: vault called Rise and Sight. This is a project that
- 4:30Speaker 1: we've been working on for quite some time and we
- 4:33Speaker 1: always talk about it. Even our PA, when she was editing,
- 4:36Speaker 1: I think month 10 or 11, It's like masculine and
- 4:39Speaker 1: feminine energy. And she was just saying like, that has
- 4:41Speaker 1: been my favorite month, even editing this, like I've learned
- 4:44Speaker 1: so much. She was just praising us on the value
- 4:48Speaker 1: that these women get inside this transformational vault. And I
- 4:50Speaker 1: just don't feel like there's many programs around like this,
- 4:54Speaker 1: where you can go your own pace and you get
- 4:55Speaker 1: to learn about so many different topics and It's not
- 4:58Speaker 1: just us. We get the guest speakers on, there's the
- 4:59Speaker 1: live chats, the community board, like there's so much involved
- 5:02Speaker 1: in this membership at such an affordable price. But we
- 5:04Speaker 1: wanted to explain why we chose to span out over
- 5:07Speaker 1: 12 months rather than like jam pack it into 12 weeks.
- 5:11Speaker 1: So we're going to go over each of the months
- 5:12Speaker 1: and why we chose those particular topics and why they're
- 5:15Speaker 1: important to us. And also the order that we put
- 5:18Speaker 1: them in was very strategic and planned. to help you
- 5:21Speaker 1: alongside your journey. Absolutely.
- 5:23Speaker 2: So I'm going to read out to you the order
- 5:25Speaker 2: of the 12 months and then we'll explain to you
- 5:27Speaker 2: what Ashley just said around the structure and why we
- 5:29Speaker 2: did it that way. So it starts off nervous system, mindset,
- 5:33Speaker 2: inner child, the confidence journey, thriving relationships, the health reset,
- 5:38Speaker 2: boundaries and honest conversations, trigger me, teach me, the gift
- 5:41Speaker 2: of the shadow, healthy masculine and feminine energy, the pleasure path,
- 5:45Speaker 2: passion and purpose and finding your fire. So this is,
- 5:49Speaker 2: as you can see, it is a full-blown journey for
- 5:51Speaker 2: 12 months.
- 5:52Speaker 1: It's a whole year.
- 5:53Speaker 2: And naturally, we wanted to start with nervous system because
- 5:56Speaker 2: I'm sure you've seen it enough on social media that
- 5:58Speaker 2: everyone bangs on about nervous system. But there's a reason
- 6:01Speaker 2: for that.
- 6:02Speaker 1: It's so important.
- 6:03Speaker 2: It's so important because good luck doing anything, achieving anything,
- 6:07Speaker 2: being a parent, being a partner. without understanding how to
- 6:10Speaker 2: actually be the person who soothes you first.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Exactly. To be able to hold any kind of expansion,
- 6:15Speaker 1: you need to be able to learn to regulate yourself.
- 6:17Speaker 2: And something that we've noticed on social media is that
- 6:20Speaker 2: nervous system work can sometimes be confusing or overwhelming. And
- 6:23Speaker 2: we break it down so simple that it's easy to
- 6:25Speaker 2: digest and something that you can implement immediately.
- 6:28Speaker 1: The first thing we do is even explain what your
- 6:30Speaker 1: nervous system is. I think people will throw it around,
- 6:32Speaker 1: but they don't actually understand what your nervous system is.
- 6:33Speaker 1: So we explain it and break it down We give
- 6:36Speaker 1: different analogies. We give actual tools and a roadmap on
- 6:40Speaker 1: how you can start to regulate your own nervous system.
- 6:42Speaker 1: And this is stuff I wish was taught in schools.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I know when I say that online, I get a
- 6:45Speaker 1: bit of pushback from teachers being like, we are trying
- 6:47Speaker 1: to teach it, but it's the parent's responsibility for sure.
- 6:49Speaker 1: But I think there should be a whole class topic
- 6:51Speaker 1: once a week where they're practicing the different tools. They're
- 6:54Speaker 1: showing them different ways because how you regulate compared to
- 6:56Speaker 1: how I regulate compared to how my kids regulate to Steve,
- 6:59Speaker 1: everyone's going to have different ways that helps to soothe them.
- 7:02Speaker 1: And when you become a parent too- How do you
- 7:04Speaker 1: regulate your children's nervous system if you're dysregulated?
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:07Speaker 1: That is the biggest part of parenting is being able
- 7:10Speaker 1: to co-regulate with them. But good luck if you can't
- 7:12Speaker 1: regulate yourself.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:14Speaker 1: They're not going to feel safe to express how they feel.
- 7:15Speaker 1: So then they suppress and they grow up being anxious,
- 7:17Speaker 1: not being able to express. And we see so many
- 7:19Speaker 1: adults that their relationships get ruined because they don't know
- 7:22Speaker 1: how to regulate. They don't know how to hold someone else.
- 7:24Speaker 1: And you can only meet someone as far as you've
- 7:25Speaker 1: met yourself.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 7:27Speaker 1: So it is the absolute foundation that we were like,
- 7:29Speaker 1: of course, this has to be month one.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 1: And all of our girls that come through Accelerator, that
- 7:33Speaker 1: come to our retreats, this is the month we all
- 7:35Speaker 1: refer them to because there's so much value in there.
- 7:38Speaker 1: And there's not only our teachings, but also my old coach,
- 7:40Speaker 1: Taylor Cecil, comes in and explains it more from a
- 7:42Speaker 1: scientific background. And the way he explains it is completely
- 7:45Speaker 1: different again, but it's all intertwined and it's just beautiful
- 7:48Speaker 1: to learn about. Yeah.
- 7:49Speaker 2: And it doesn't matter how much work you've done. I
- 7:51Speaker 2: think it's really important, as we spoke about in a
- 7:53Speaker 2: previous episode, to always be a beginner in everything that
- 7:55Speaker 2: you do.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:56Speaker 2: And sometimes life takes over. And because life takes over,
- 8:00Speaker 2: we forget to go back to the basics. And I
- 8:02Speaker 2: feel like a nervous system is a basic, but it's
- 8:05Speaker 2: the most important one. And if you're not constantly revisiting that,
- 8:09Speaker 2: it's really easy to let life take over and life
- 8:12Speaker 2: will come over and consume you and you'll get sucked
- 8:15Speaker 2: into the everyday moments of triggers and fights with your
- 8:18Speaker 2: partner or being triggered by your children.
- 8:21Speaker 1: That's right.
- 8:22Speaker 2: There are so many things in life that will you know,
- 8:25Speaker 2: show you and highlight you all of your triggers until
- 8:27Speaker 2: you choose to face it.
- 8:29Speaker 1: So true.
- 8:29Speaker 2: That's why we started with this as number one. And,
- 8:32Speaker 2: you know, it's really important as well on this journey.
- 8:34Speaker 2: There's so much information out there, so much information, but
- 8:37Speaker 2: sometimes that can become overwhelming.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Where the fuck do I start?
- 8:40Speaker 2: That's right. Where do I start? And like, what do
- 8:42Speaker 2: I even work on first? And that was the biggest
- 8:45Speaker 2: question that we were getting asked in our DMs at
- 8:47Speaker 2: She Rises of like, I want to go on this
- 8:49Speaker 2: journey and I want to work on myself. I want
- 8:51Speaker 2: to be a better mother, partner, friend, person, version of myself.
- 8:55Speaker 2: So where do I even begin? And that's exactly why
- 8:57Speaker 2: we created this pathway. And the cool thing about what
- 9:00Speaker 2: we've done here is that we're not just going to
- 9:02Speaker 2: give you 12 months worth of content upfront so that
- 9:04Speaker 2: you can binge, consume, and be done in three weeks.
- 9:06Speaker 1: You're not integrating it then?
- 9:08Speaker 2: No, absolutely not. There is a difference between learning and absorbing.
- 9:12Speaker 2: And knowledge is not power. Applied knowledge is power. And
- 9:16Speaker 2: I will repeat that till the cows come home. And
- 9:18Speaker 2: we will repeat that till the cows come home. Because
- 9:20Speaker 2: if you are not implementing, nothing has changed. Someone once
- 9:24Speaker 2: said to me, if you read a book and you
- 9:26Speaker 2: don't implement what you learned in it, there was no
- 9:28Speaker 2: point in you reading the book. Same thing goes for
- 9:31Speaker 2: the courses. Same thing goes for the masterclasses. Same thing
- 9:34Speaker 2: goes for all of the spaces that you invest into.
- 9:36Speaker 2: If you are going into these spaces and you are
- 9:38Speaker 2: not applying what you are learning, there is no point
- 9:41Speaker 2: in you being in there. So this is where you
- 9:43Speaker 2: get to just give yourself permission, one, that we're going
- 9:46Speaker 2: to show you the pathway forward. If you come join
- 9:48Speaker 2: us here in She Rises. And also that when you
- 9:52Speaker 2: apply yourself in every area that you go in, you
- 9:54Speaker 2: will always come out having learned something more about yourself.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Creating change in your life too. Yeah.
- 10:01Speaker 1: So cool. So nervous system, number one. Number two is mindset.
- 10:05Speaker 1: mastery mindset is so important how you perceive things the
- 10:09Speaker 1: meaning you put on them there's so much conditioning and
- 10:13Speaker 1: old stories that we have from growing up from our
- 10:15Speaker 1: child or from our parents from teachers and And your
- 10:18Speaker 1: mindset is really going to either limit you or progress
- 10:20Speaker 1: you forward. And we can change that at any point
- 10:22Speaker 1: in time. So this is a really important topic because
- 10:24Speaker 1: we believe to go into the rest of the months,
- 10:27Speaker 1: if you don't have not just like a positive mindset,
- 10:29Speaker 1: but a strong mindset, it's really hard to absorb and
- 10:32Speaker 1: integrate all the future things that we're going to be
- 10:33Speaker 1: teaching you. Very true.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Mindset is huge, hey? I think it either determines whether
- 10:38Speaker 2: you have like an optimistic outlook or like a pessimistic outlook. Well,
- 10:42Speaker 2: we were talking about this before of like glass half
- 10:44Speaker 2: full or empty.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:46Speaker 2: And mindset is such a big one because you kind
- 10:48Speaker 2: of absorb the mindset of the people who lead you.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 10:52Speaker 2: So like your parents, your guardians, even your siblings, like
- 10:55Speaker 2: everyone around you who influences you, they all have input
- 10:58Speaker 2: on like what your mindset ends up being. What's the quote?
- 11:02Speaker 2: Somebody once said, your mind is a terrible master and
- 11:04Speaker 2: a beautiful servant. And it means like if you let
- 11:07Speaker 2: your mind lead you, like you will end up like
- 11:09Speaker 2: all over the shop. But if you teach it to
- 11:11Speaker 2: do what you want it to do, it will be
- 11:13Speaker 2: an amazing servant. Because you are the person who controls
- 11:15Speaker 2: your mind, not the other way around. Yeah. I heard
- 11:18Speaker 2: that quote and I was like, wow, that's so powerful.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Because sometimes, at least in my life, I felt in
- 11:23Speaker 2: the moments where I've been like, oh, like I feel
- 11:25Speaker 2: such a victim to this situation or I feel in
- 11:27Speaker 2: a really negative headspace and I don't know how to
- 11:29Speaker 2: get out. But the moment that I remember that I'm
- 11:31Speaker 2: the one who's in control, it's like I can actually
- 11:33Speaker 2: change my outcome.
- 11:35Speaker 1: That's beautiful. It's really powerful. I haven't heard that one before.
- 11:37Speaker 2: It's really cool. Yeah.
- 11:38Speaker 1: I love that one.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Up next, we go into inner child. This is a
- 11:41Speaker 1: really big month. And I think once again, this gets
- 11:43Speaker 1: thrown around on the internet quite a lot, but I
- 11:45Speaker 1: don't think you can really know the value of doing
- 11:47Speaker 1: this work until you dive deep into it. Because I
- 11:50Speaker 1: think when I first heard about this, I was like,
- 11:52Speaker 1: I'm not a child. I didn't understand. I'm like, I
- 11:54Speaker 1: don't need to connect with her. I'm an adult now.
- 11:56Speaker 1: This is who I am. I don't need to go
- 11:57Speaker 1: back in my past and relive and go through all
- 11:59Speaker 1: of that. But Your inner child is a part of
- 12:01Speaker 1: you that's always going to be there. It exists in you.
- 12:03Speaker 1: It's a part of you. He or she is not
- 12:05Speaker 1: going anywhere. And you'll notice the inner child come out
- 12:08Speaker 1: in you, in your behaviors, in your patterns, in the
- 12:10Speaker 1: way you react, the way you have your little tantrums
- 12:12Speaker 1: or your bratty moments. It's like where in your younger
- 12:15Speaker 1: years of your life were you not attended to? Were
- 12:17Speaker 1: you dismissed? Were you not acknowledged? Were you not heard?
- 12:20Speaker 1: You'll notice that come out in your relationships. I still
- 12:23Speaker 1: can see parts of myself that come out that I'm like, oh,
- 12:25Speaker 1: that's that little girl wanting to be seen. I'm raising
- 12:27Speaker 1: my voice or I'm like, kicking my feet or I'm
- 12:30Speaker 1: saying a certain thing to try to be heard. I'm like,
- 12:32Speaker 1: that is her screaming and like really wanting to be
- 12:35Speaker 1: validated in this moment.
- 12:36Speaker 2: She's like, pay attention to me.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Absolutely. And I'll literally say that to Steve sometimes. I'm like,
- 12:41Speaker 1: you know, as much as I'm an adult version of myself,
- 12:44Speaker 1: when I express this, there's still that little girl in
- 12:46Speaker 1: me that's so desperately wanting to be seen by the
- 12:50Speaker 1: man in her life. And I didn't get that with
- 12:51Speaker 1: my father. So with you, I'm really craving that, you know,
- 12:55Speaker 1: and I express that there's a little girl inside of
- 12:57Speaker 1: me that so desperately wants to be seen. It can
- 12:59Speaker 1: be very uncomfortable work. Oh, yeah. And you really do
- 13:02Speaker 1: have to go back and I think the right coach
- 13:05Speaker 1: will lead you and take you through the processes, but
- 13:07Speaker 1: you do almost have to go back and relive some
- 13:09Speaker 1: moments where you were dismissed or not heard or not
- 13:12Speaker 1: seen and didn't get what you needed in those moments.
- 13:14Speaker 1: That's the work of going back and giving it to yourself.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:17Speaker 1: And reparenting yourself and being able to self-soothe. It takes
- 13:20Speaker 1: it back to nervous system as well as being able
- 13:22Speaker 1: to soothe yourselves in those moments that you weren't given
- 13:25Speaker 1: to it by your parents or caregivers.
- 13:26Speaker 2: It's so right. It's so true. Yeah. You know, it's funny,
- 13:30Speaker 2: I think as adults it's really easy for us to
- 13:32Speaker 2: look at other people and hope that other people will
- 13:35Speaker 2: come to our rescue or solve things for us or
- 13:38Speaker 2: be the leader and like take away our problems. But
- 13:40Speaker 2: in the moments that are really the most painful, no
- 13:43Speaker 2: one can really do that for us. And like instead
- 13:46Speaker 2: of running or finding a distraction or procrastinate or, you know,
- 13:50Speaker 2: fall into substances or something that is like a clutch
- 13:54Speaker 2: so you don't have to look at it. Mm-hmm. It's
- 13:56Speaker 2: like instead of doing those things, you actually get to
- 13:58Speaker 2: lean on yourself. And that's why this work is so
- 14:00Speaker 2: empowering in this month, why it's a necessary step to
- 14:04Speaker 2: what we have on this pathway. Because when you can
- 14:07Speaker 2: be that for yourself, it's like you don't need to
- 14:08Speaker 2: rely on those things or those coping mechanisms so that
- 14:12Speaker 2: you can get through. It's like you learn how to
- 14:14Speaker 2: get through in a really productive way instead.
- 14:16Speaker 1: And it's cool as an adult when you're going through something,
- 14:19Speaker 1: it's like asking yourself, what do I need in this moment?
- 14:21Speaker 1: Or like, what would I have needed as a kid? Mm-hmm.
- 14:23Speaker 1: What do they need to hear? And when you become
- 14:25Speaker 1: a parent and you see what your kids are like
- 14:27Speaker 1: demanding or needing when you didn't get that when you
- 14:30Speaker 1: were a little girl, it's so cool to be super
- 14:31Speaker 1: hyper aware of that once you've done it in a
- 14:33Speaker 1: child work because then it's like, oh, I can see
- 14:35Speaker 1: what they need right now. And if I don't give
- 14:37Speaker 1: that to them, I can see how that could really
- 14:38Speaker 1: impact them growing up. Yeah.
- 14:40Speaker 2: It gives you more compassion.
- 14:41Speaker 1: It's so much more compassion.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Like for yourself and for the people that you love.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Especially having a daughter. I felt like that really highlighted
- 14:46Speaker 1: for me. Oh, really? When I see her upset, I'm like, oh,
- 14:49Speaker 1: that's how I would have felt. I'm not going to
- 14:51Speaker 1: dismiss her or put her in a naughty corner or
- 14:53Speaker 1: shove her in a room and close the door because
- 14:54Speaker 1: that's what I got. And as a little girl, that's terrifying.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I'm going to sit with you in this mess. I'm
- 14:58Speaker 1: never going to run away from you when you're at
- 14:59Speaker 1: your messiest, loudest, most vulnerable moment where you're screaming and
- 15:03Speaker 1: upset to me about whatever it is, even if I
- 15:05Speaker 1: don't think it's a big deal. For her, in her world,
- 15:07Speaker 1: it is.
- 15:08Speaker 2: It is.
- 15:08Speaker 1: And damn straight, I'm going to sit with you and
- 15:09Speaker 1: make sure you know that I still love you in
- 15:11Speaker 1: this moment because I've got the complete opposite of that.
- 15:13Speaker 1: So it's really beautiful work to do. That's so powerful. Yeah. Yeah.
- 15:17Speaker 2: That's rewriting the story, isn't it?
- 15:19Speaker 1: It is.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Like making sure that you can show up in those
- 15:21Speaker 2: ways to recreate those wounds.
- 15:23Speaker 1: And if you can do this before becoming a parent,
- 15:24Speaker 1: so powerful. But even if you do it when you
- 15:26Speaker 1: become a parent, equally as powerful or both.
- 15:28Speaker 2: And I'm sure that there are things that you learn
- 15:29Speaker 2: when you become a parent that you wouldn't if you
- 15:31Speaker 2: didn't have children.
- 15:32Speaker 1: So much.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Because you don't have the opportunity to learn that.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:34Speaker 2: So it's like then you get initiated into that.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Which is beautiful. So good.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. The next one is the confidence journey. I
- 15:41Speaker 2: think this one is self-explanatory. The importance of believing in yourself.
- 15:45Speaker 2: How much do we see it in like all of
- 15:47Speaker 2: our societal pressure and conditioning of like you need the
- 15:52Speaker 2: next beauty thing and this and that and you've got
- 15:53Speaker 2: to look a certain way and dress a certain way
- 15:55Speaker 2: and feel a certain way and like all of the things,
- 15:57Speaker 2: you know. I feel like there's a lot of pressure
- 15:59Speaker 2: on women to be a certain way. And I think
- 16:01Speaker 2: like without that level of confidence– To guide you through
- 16:05Speaker 2: all of the ups and downs, like it feels a
- 16:07Speaker 2: lot more chaotic. You feel a lot more insecure on
- 16:10Speaker 2: the journey. It's harder to hold things. It's harder to
- 16:14Speaker 2: have like a resilient kind of perspective and outlook on
- 16:18Speaker 2: why things end, why things didn't work out.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Why you feel a certain way. And when we talk
- 16:23Speaker 2: about comparison and like when you have a strong sense
- 16:26Speaker 2: of self-worth and strong sense of confidence, Not to say
- 16:28Speaker 2: that you'll never compare yourself again, but it will just
- 16:31Speaker 2: make it easier when you do because you'll be able
- 16:32Speaker 2: to rationalize with yourself.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Definitely. We hear a lot of women say, oh, I'll
- 16:36Speaker 1: do that when I'm more confident.
- 16:37Speaker 2: All the time.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Whereas it's like, okay, I hear that mindset, but confidence
- 16:41Speaker 1: doesn't come natural. You get confident from doing the hard
- 16:45Speaker 1: things that you didn't think you could do or you
- 16:46Speaker 1: doubt yourself in. And so we dive a lot more
- 16:48Speaker 1: deeper into the psychology around that theory and how true
- 16:52Speaker 1: it actually is. Absolutely. It's so powerful, especially for women.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Yeah. And it's so funny too. I almost feel like
- 16:56Speaker 2: it's an unspoken thing. It's like, well, if I'm seen
- 16:59Speaker 2: wanting to be confident, that means that I'm not confident.
- 17:02Speaker 2: But then it stops women from actually going on the
- 17:04Speaker 2: journey because then they're scared of being seen as someone
- 17:07Speaker 2: who doesn't already have it.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Yes.
- 17:08Speaker 2: I feel like I've been that woman. I've definitely done that.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I've been like, oh, no, no, no.
- 17:11Speaker 2: I'm more confident than what I actually am and pretended
- 17:14Speaker 2: like I was. But what that did is like stop
- 17:16Speaker 2: me from being able to grow into my confidence. I see.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Because I was pretending to be up here. Yeah. So
- 17:20Speaker 2: there was nowhere for me to grow into because I
- 17:22Speaker 2: was just already pretending to be that when really I
- 17:25Speaker 2: was just hiding parts of myself that I didn't think
- 17:27Speaker 2: were good enough. I think a lot of women are
- 17:29Speaker 2: currently doing that and going through that.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 17:32Speaker 2: It's just so liberating on the other side when you
- 17:34Speaker 2: can go through this confidence journey. And like run through
- 17:37Speaker 2: what we talk about inside Rise Inside in this month.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:40Speaker 2: And actually start to rediscover who you are as a
- 17:42Speaker 2: woman again.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I think people think confidence is like what you look like.
- 17:45Speaker 1: And yes, that's definitely a part of it. It's a
- 17:46Speaker 1: part of it. It's definitely an inside journey.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Yes.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Truly is an inside journey.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Which we take you deeper into. So it's a really
- 17:52Speaker 1: cool month.
- 17:52Speaker 2: We see it all the time. Like when people, you know,
- 17:55Speaker 2: say if somebody like we see change in them and like, wow,
- 17:57Speaker 2: you look so different. Wow, you look so good. Something's
- 17:59Speaker 2: different about you. Yeah. It's not usually because they change
- 18:01Speaker 2: something about themselves. No. Because they've internally changed. shifted and
- 18:04Speaker 2: they glow internally and i'm sure that maybe that you
- 18:07Speaker 2: know maybe a new bronzer or a new blush or
- 18:09Speaker 2: a new dress or whatever but it's like it's rarely.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Those things yeah it's how they hold themselves you see
- 18:14Speaker 1: when women come out of a relationship or even men
- 18:16Speaker 1: out of a really toxic relationship and then they look
- 18:18Speaker 1: so different they just glow about them like you look
- 18:20Speaker 1: so much more confident it's like yeah because i don't
- 18:22Speaker 1: have someone weighing me down or telling me every day
- 18:24Speaker 1: that i'm not good enough or i'm too much you
- 18:26Speaker 1: see them like blossom and get that glow up but
- 18:29Speaker 1: it's like it's an internal.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Glow it really is you know who did that recently
- 18:32Speaker 2: nicole kidman Oh, I don't really. Yeah, her and her husband.
- 18:35Speaker 2: I don't follow it. I saw her pop up and
- 18:36Speaker 2: she just looked incredible. People are saying she's had a
- 18:39Speaker 2: huge glow up since leaving her husband, Keith Urban, I think.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Oh, there you go. Yeah.
- 18:44Speaker 2: And Nina Dobrev, I don't know if you know who
- 18:45Speaker 2: that is.
- 18:45Speaker 1: No, I don't.
- 18:46Speaker 2: She's the main actress from The Vampire Diaries.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Oh, I've never watched Vampire Diaries.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Oh, it's so good. That's another recommendation.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Vampire shows I just can't get into.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Oh, I love it.
- 18:55Speaker 1: I know. Everyone raves about it.
- 18:57Speaker 2: I feel like you're also not, you don't love like
- 18:59Speaker 2: mystical side of things.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I don't like things that I'm like, that's not real.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Yes.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I'd rather watch something like a real crime. Yeah, a
- 19:04Speaker 1: real story that I can learn from and relate to.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Whereas like I love mystical stuff like vampires and mythical
- 19:10Speaker 2: creatures and fairies and things. I get into it real deep.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Love that. Anyway, getting sidetracked. The next one is thriving relationships.
- 19:18Speaker 1: This is, once again, self-explanatory, but I truly believe the
- 19:21Speaker 1: quality of relationships determine the quality of your life. If
- 19:23Speaker 1: you have solid, deep, connected, aligned relationships, you're going to
- 19:26Speaker 1: thrive in every area.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 19:28Speaker 1: On the opposite, if you have relationships that aren't serving you,
- 19:30Speaker 1: that don't feel connecting, that don't feel aligned, that drag
- 19:32Speaker 1: you down, that they don't believe in you, they secretly
- 19:35Speaker 1: fucking hate you, that aren't supporting you, That's going to
- 19:39Speaker 1: drain your energy, make you doubt yourself, question everything. It
- 19:42Speaker 1: is just so important. So in this topic, we don't
- 19:45Speaker 1: just talk about intimate relationship. We talk about friendships. We
- 19:47Speaker 1: talk about all the relationships in your life and how
- 19:50Speaker 1: important it is to consistently check in to make sure
- 19:52Speaker 1: that they are the right relationships for you. you're at
- 19:55Speaker 1: right now. I love this topic. It's a good one.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Hey, it's such a cliche quote, but everyone talks about
- 20:00Speaker 2: you are the five people that you spend the most
- 20:02Speaker 2: time with. It's so true. But like the relationships, whether friendships, co-working, family, intimate,
- 20:08Speaker 2: no matter what one it is, like it's going to
- 20:09Speaker 2: impact you.
- 20:10Speaker 1: It does.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Impact you. Yeah. And yeah, I think it's really important
- 20:13Speaker 2: like what you said to audit all of those relationships
- 20:15Speaker 2: and just check in with like where you're at too.
- 20:17Speaker 1: There's so much to learn about relationships. It's something we
- 20:19Speaker 1: love learning and talking about. So we've got a lot
- 20:21Speaker 1: to share. Like we don't shut up in those workshops. Yeah,
- 20:24Speaker 1: we don't.
- 20:24Speaker 2: We don't.
- 20:25Speaker 1: But it's good.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I think if we get really honest with ourselves, like
- 20:28Speaker 2: it's something we really crave is thriving relationships. Yeah. You know,
- 20:32Speaker 2: I think a lot of people come into the world
- 20:33Speaker 2: and I guess I'm just speaking for myself here, but
- 20:35Speaker 2: like super lonely. Yeah. I think we come into the
- 20:38Speaker 2: world lonely. We leave the world on our own. You
- 20:40Speaker 2: know what I mean? But then in between everything, we
- 20:42Speaker 2: just like want to know that we can connect with
- 20:44Speaker 2: our people. And I think there is like a huge
- 20:47Speaker 2: epidemic of like lonely people at the moment and people
- 20:50Speaker 2: who are struggling to connect with other people in the
- 20:52Speaker 2: way that they want to actually connect with. And I
- 20:54Speaker 2: think it's a skill that you have to learn. I
- 20:56Speaker 2: don't think it's something that we're taught.
- 20:58Speaker 1: No. I think social media has had a really big
- 21:00Speaker 1: impact on that as well. People think they're connected by
- 21:02Speaker 1: following people and watching people, but it's not the true
- 21:04Speaker 1: connection that you actually need. And it's a big core
- 21:07Speaker 1: reason of why we do what we do at She Rises.
- 21:09Speaker 1: It started as a podcast, but very quickly we were like, no,
- 21:12Speaker 1: we need more face-to-face. We need to bring women together.
- 21:14Speaker 1: We need to create safety, heal the sisterhood wounds, show
- 21:17Speaker 1: how powerful it is to have women in your life
- 21:19Speaker 1: that truly support you and love you and see you
- 21:21Speaker 1: in all your mess and still love you unconditionally. Absolutely.
- 21:24Speaker 1: No matter what's happened, no matter what mistakes you've made,
- 21:27Speaker 1: like our retreats, like it's just you can't explain it
- 21:30Speaker 1: until you're there. And you truly feel what it's like.
- 21:33Speaker 2: I think we've seen this a lot in the women
- 21:34Speaker 2: who are moms as well.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:36Speaker 2: You know, again, I haven't been on this journey myself,
- 21:38Speaker 2: but I imagine, you know, you go through that season
- 21:40Speaker 2: of becoming a mother, your whole world changes. Yeah. And
- 21:42Speaker 2: then your identity shifts.
- 21:44Speaker 1: So much.
- 21:44Speaker 2: What you prioritize and what you care about changes. And
- 21:46Speaker 2: then you've got to find a new level of friendships.
- 21:48Speaker 1: And things like that.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Even if you're not a mom, women go through this anyway.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 21:52Speaker 2: It's a real challenge. So it's definitely, yeah, I like
- 21:54Speaker 2: that you mentioned that because it is something that's been
- 21:56Speaker 2: really important for us from the very beginning.
- 21:58Speaker 1: And so special. So special. the health reset, had to
- 22:01Speaker 1: put this in. I wasn't sure where to put this in, actually.
- 22:04Speaker 1: This is the one month I was like, oh, for me,
- 22:06Speaker 1: a healthy mind and a healthy body, and I'm sure
- 22:08Speaker 1: you agree, is such a strong foundation. So it was
- 22:11Speaker 1: hard to not have this right at the start, but
- 22:14Speaker 1: this just ended up being where it flowed in. But
- 22:16Speaker 1: this is all about health, fitness, wellness, a bit of mindset,
- 22:20Speaker 1: your habits, your routines, and just having a solid routine
- 22:24Speaker 1: and taking care of your body and taking care of
- 22:25Speaker 1: your mind and what you put into your body, supplements
- 22:29Speaker 1: you take, Like all of that is covered in this month.
- 22:32Speaker 1: And just like little hacks and tips and tricks on
- 22:35Speaker 1: how to make a healthier lifestyle easier because I think
- 22:38Speaker 1: it's so overcomplicated these days. It really is. Let's bring
- 22:40Speaker 1: it back to basics and we break it down in
- 22:43Speaker 1: an easy way that throughout this month you're going to
- 22:44Speaker 1: be like, oh, I can fucking do this. I don't
- 22:46Speaker 1: have to do what all the bodybuilders are doing or what,
- 22:49Speaker 1: you know, all my favorite influencers are doing. Like I
- 22:51Speaker 1: literally can bring it back to basics. And our goal
- 22:53Speaker 1: for you throughout this month is to find what works
- 22:55Speaker 1: for you. We're going to guide you the whole time
- 22:57Speaker 1: and you're going to be able to go on this
- 22:58Speaker 1: cool journey together. in the month and beyond, but we
- 23:00Speaker 1: want to find what works for you that's sustainable, maintainable, long-term.
- 23:04Speaker 1: It's not like a short-term, quick, four-week quick fix where
- 23:07Speaker 1: we're going to solve all your problems and you're going
- 23:09Speaker 1: to lose all the weight and be in the best
- 23:10Speaker 1: shape of your life in four weeks. It's not about that.
- 23:12Speaker 1: It's about really understanding how to have a healthy lifestyle
- 23:15Speaker 1: and a healthy relationship with yourself and with food and
- 23:18Speaker 1: with your body so that you can actually enjoy how
- 23:21Speaker 1: you're living day to day.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Beautifully said.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Beautifully said.
- 23:24Speaker 2: It really is such an important part. It's one thing
- 23:27Speaker 2: to do the mindset work, but it's another thing to
- 23:28Speaker 2: like implement how you treat your body and what you
- 23:31Speaker 2: actually do in the actions you choose when it comes
- 23:34Speaker 2: to your health, what you put in your mouth, how
- 23:36Speaker 2: you move your body and like how you take care
- 23:38Speaker 2: of yourself ultimately. It's such an important part of the journey.
- 23:41Speaker 2: And if we're really honest with ourselves, everything that we
- 23:43Speaker 2: put in our mouth impacts the way that we feel
- 23:45Speaker 2: in our physical body. So if you're thinking about, okay,
- 23:49Speaker 2: I want to get like really on top of my mindset,
- 23:51Speaker 2: my regulation, like what are you putting into your body
- 23:53Speaker 2: that's impacting how that energy feels? So you're going and
- 23:56Speaker 2: eating KFC and no judgment to anybody does, but if
- 23:59Speaker 2: you're going and eating KFC and then you feel like
- 24:00Speaker 2: you need to nap for six hours, is that in
- 24:02Speaker 2: support of the mindset and the emotional regulation that you
- 24:06Speaker 2: want to have or not? This is where this comes
- 24:09Speaker 2: into play. It's such an important pillar of being able
- 24:12Speaker 2: to overall take care of who you are as a person.
- 24:15Speaker 2: your energy and how you're showing up in the world.
- 24:17Speaker 1: It is a foundation.
- 24:18Speaker 2: So important.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Something we will always preach. Yeah. And you notice how
- 24:22Speaker 1: everything else slips when your health slips. Yeah. And without
- 24:24Speaker 1: your health, I'm sorry, but you're dead. Yes. You cannot
- 24:27Speaker 1: survive without a healthy body. And if you are just
- 24:30Speaker 1: like just surviving and not thriving, that's something to look at. Yeah.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Your body can only take so much. And if you
- 24:35Speaker 1: mistreat it for years and years, it's going to start
- 24:37Speaker 1: to break down and give you a lot of symptoms
- 24:39Speaker 1: and messages and potentially disease. Because it needs to be
- 24:43Speaker 1: taken care of.
- 24:44Speaker 2: It does.
- 24:44Speaker 1: It's so important. Yeah.
- 24:45Speaker 2: It's non-negotiable.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Non-negotiable.
- 24:48Speaker 2: The next one is boundaries and honest conversations.
- 24:51Speaker 1: This is a good one.
- 24:52Speaker 2: This is a juicy one.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Boundaries and healthy conversations or honest conversations is a part
- 24:59Speaker 2: that I think most people avoid. I know I have
- 25:01Speaker 2: in the past.
- 25:01Speaker 1: And not taught. Not taught.
- 25:03Speaker 2: No. Because nobody, I mean, other than these next generations...
- 25:07Speaker 2: Before that, it wasn't normalized to talk.
- 25:09Speaker 1: No.
- 25:09Speaker 2: It wasn't normalized to go to therapy and it wasn't
- 25:11Speaker 2: normalized to work through your feelings and like be supportive
- 25:14Speaker 2: of the other person and holding space for them.
- 25:17Speaker 1: It was sweep. Yeah. That's right. And ever again.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Yeah. And everyone wonders why like that generation like have
- 25:22Speaker 2: a struggle.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Their avoidance.
- 25:24Speaker 2: With relationships.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:25Speaker 2: They're all avoidance.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Yeah, they really are.
- 25:27Speaker 2: So true. But yeah, I think we all as women
- 25:29Speaker 2: especially have to learn how to be strong in our boundaries.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:33Speaker 2: But before being strong in them, learn how to actually
- 25:35Speaker 2: set them. And before we do that, we need to
- 25:36Speaker 2: learn what they actually are. And I think there's like
- 25:39Speaker 2: a three-step process almost to this of like what that
- 25:41Speaker 2: looks like and then being willing to be transparent of
- 25:44Speaker 2: what you actually want, what you feel, what comes up
- 25:46Speaker 2: for you and like being willing to invite the people
- 25:49Speaker 2: that you love into that.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Into your world. Boundaries, you speak about it so well too,
- 25:54Speaker 1: just about boundaries with your body too. Like who you
- 25:57Speaker 1: allow in, the whole Sydney Swans thing, allegations at the
- 26:00Speaker 1: moment where they're apparently the football players and obviously we
- 26:02Speaker 1: don't know we weren't there but what they're reporting on
- 26:05Speaker 1: is that the footballers invited dancers exotic dancers like strippers
- 26:08Speaker 1: back to the hotel and some of the footballers touched
- 26:10Speaker 1: them inappropriately and gosh it was just disgusting to see
- 26:13Speaker 1: some of the comments threads of just like oh you
- 26:16Speaker 1: know they're dancing half naked what do they expect I'm
- 26:18Speaker 1: like good on these girls for having boundaries been like
- 26:21Speaker 1: yes I'm dancing for you it doesn't give you any
- 26:23Speaker 1: right to enter my body or touch me in the
- 26:25Speaker 1: places I don't give approval for you to touch me.
- 26:28Speaker 1: It just popped to my head then. I was like,
- 26:29Speaker 1: that is a boundary. I will dance for you because
- 26:31Speaker 1: obviously she likes to dance and it's great for whatever reasons.
- 26:34Speaker 1: But that doesn't give you permission to just like slip
- 26:36Speaker 1: your fingers in. Absolutely not. Yeah, it's a great example.
- 26:39Speaker 1: It's a great example, isn't it? It's like not just
- 26:41Speaker 1: in that area of your life, but boundaries around whatever
- 26:43Speaker 1: you need boundaries around to actually be able to use
- 26:45Speaker 1: your voice. And I think it's so sad that so
- 26:47Speaker 1: many women really, we hear it all the time, whether
- 26:50Speaker 1: it's friends, family, or in our DMs, in our bestie submissions,
- 26:53Speaker 1: like women struggle to have boundaries.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Right.
- 26:55Speaker 1: It's so sad, but it's a conversation that needs to
- 26:57Speaker 1: be had more. And that's why we did a whole
- 26:58Speaker 1: month on it because you need to learn how to
- 27:00Speaker 1: communicate effectively, how to have your boundaries and hold them,
- 27:04Speaker 1: how to be okay that it's not going to be
- 27:05Speaker 1: residual sometimes. And there's going to be pushback. It doesn't
- 27:09Speaker 1: mean you're doing anything wrong. It's the biggest part, isn't it?
- 27:11Speaker 1: And we dive very deep into that.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 27:13Speaker 1: It's a huge month.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Next one is trigger me, teach me all about triggers.
- 27:17Speaker 1: And I love our guest speaker that we got on
- 27:18Speaker 1: for this. He's just so good. We got Lewis on.
- 27:20Speaker 1: He's been on the podcast before. He's just an absolute
- 27:22Speaker 1: gun explaining all of this, but Yeah, we talk about
- 27:24Speaker 1: triggers and how we all get triggered. We all project them.
- 27:27Speaker 1: It's a part of human nature. But how to manage
- 27:30Speaker 1: them a little bit better so it doesn't impact our
- 27:32Speaker 1: relationships in a really negative way. Yeah.
- 27:34Speaker 2: It's like bringing awareness to them and then giving you
- 27:36Speaker 2: the tools to be able to learn how to deal
- 27:38Speaker 2: with them in your everyday life. Yeah. I know we
- 27:40Speaker 2: mentioned this before, but every single month we have an
- 27:43Speaker 2: expert speaker who joins us in the trainings. Well, not
- 27:46Speaker 2: joins us, but also does their own training. Yeah. Very
- 27:48Speaker 2: specifically based on that month and that topic. Yes. We've
- 27:51Speaker 2: pulled like the best people from the best places who
- 27:54Speaker 2: are going to be able to be there to support
- 27:55Speaker 2: you as well through this journey. And I also love
- 27:57Speaker 2: the way that Lewis describes it as well. Like we
- 27:59Speaker 2: do our own teaching, but also love having a man's
- 28:02Speaker 2: perspective on this as well. I think to have the
- 28:04Speaker 2: both is really, really powerful.
- 28:06Speaker 1: It is cool. And you can see how we left
- 28:07Speaker 1: this one later on in the year, but you can
- 28:10Speaker 1: see how nervous system regulation is going to play into
- 28:13Speaker 1: the trigger month. If you get triggered and you don't
- 28:15Speaker 1: know how to regulate yourself, Good luck having a healthy
- 28:18Speaker 1: conversation with the person that you're triggered with.
- 28:19Speaker 2: It's very true. Right?
- 28:20Speaker 1: Yeah. And it's still a work in progress. I'm not
- 28:22Speaker 1: sitting on my high horse. I still struggle with it.
- 28:24Speaker 1: It's still a work in progress depending on who it
- 28:25Speaker 1: is or what it's about or how big the trigger is.
- 28:27Speaker 1: We all do. I still have to like catch myself
- 28:30Speaker 1: and be like, okay, I'm feeling very triggered right now.
- 28:33Speaker 1: What am I going to do in this moment? And
- 28:35Speaker 1: the best thing you can do is go and regulate.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Take some breaths. Like get out in nature or like
- 28:38Speaker 1: do whatever you need to do to be able to
- 28:40Speaker 1: come back and have a healthy conversation.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Yeah. So it's super important.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Yeah. It's a really big month.
- 28:45Speaker 2: It's another layer of personal development. Like it's not like
- 28:47Speaker 2: a manifestation kind of conversation. It's like, this is uncomfortable.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:51Speaker 2: This is going to trigger you. It's going to activate you,
- 28:53Speaker 2: but in the right ways to show you what you
- 28:55Speaker 2: need to see in yourself. Yes.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Cool to have the awareness of when you get triggered.
- 28:58Speaker 1: It's like, it's so easy to blame the other person,
- 29:02Speaker 1: whoever it is, but it's like, actually, there's a reason
- 29:05Speaker 1: I'm being triggered because part of me believes it's true.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Or part of me hasn't worked through that or part
- 29:09Speaker 1: of me has avoided that for so many years. It's like, oh,
- 29:12Speaker 1: there's a trigger there. My body's activated for a reason.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I just truly believe your body's always speaking to you.
- 29:16Speaker 1: And if it's activated and causing a reaction, there's something
- 29:20Speaker 1: in there for you to look at. You can deny
- 29:22Speaker 1: it all you want and try and sweep it where
- 29:23Speaker 1: you want, but the longer you leave it, the more
- 29:25Speaker 1: it's going to show up. Damn straight. And it's going
- 29:27Speaker 1: to get bigger and bigger and bigger. And it's going
- 29:28Speaker 1: to get to a point where it explodes and you
- 29:30Speaker 1: can't avoid it anymore.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Yeah, then it will be a problem. Then it's a problem.
- 29:34Speaker 2: We don't want to wait until it gets to a problem. No.
- 29:37Speaker 2: So good. Then we've got the gift of the shadow.
- 29:39Speaker 2: So this is where we dive into shadow work, but
- 29:42Speaker 2: not your traditional shadow work teachings. So we dive into
- 29:46Speaker 2: what shadows are, how to understand what yours are, how
- 29:48Speaker 2: they're playing out in your life, all of that. But
- 29:50Speaker 2: then we also touch on the really powerful part of
- 29:52Speaker 2: having shadows to begin with, which is when you free
- 29:55Speaker 2: yourself from these aspects of yourself, you actually learn that
- 29:58Speaker 2: there is a beautiful gift on the other side of that.
- 30:00Speaker 2: And what we do is teach you how you can
- 30:03Speaker 2: identify what your specific gift is and how that's actually
- 30:06Speaker 2: going to benefit you once you integrate these parts of yourself,
- 30:09Speaker 2: which I just think is a really beautiful way to
- 30:11Speaker 2: do shadow work because it stops you. If you've ever
- 30:13Speaker 2: heard the word shadow work and be like, oh my God,
- 30:15Speaker 2: that sounds so scary and dark.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it does.
- 30:17Speaker 2: I'm so scared of that. What the fuck is that?
- 30:18Speaker 1: I don't want to look at that.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Then this will bring some ease to it. It just
- 30:22Speaker 2: like helps you see it. It's like productive. It's a
- 30:24Speaker 2: benefit to you to do shadow work, to see these
- 30:28Speaker 2: aspects of yourself that maybe you're not aware of. And
- 30:30Speaker 2: then to learn how to integrate them back into your
- 30:32Speaker 2: life so that you can come back into whole. Because
- 30:34Speaker 2: that's what shadow work is. It's like we are like
- 30:36Speaker 2: fragmented right now as souls. Mm-hmm. And then when we
- 30:39Speaker 2: come back as whole and we integrate these parts of ourselves,
- 30:41Speaker 2: we can be whole, therefore have a deeper understanding of
- 30:45Speaker 2: self-acceptance for who we truly are.
- 30:46Speaker 1: I like the way you explain it. I'm going to
- 30:48Speaker 1: probably butcher it. I'm still learning about shadow work.
- 30:49Speaker 2: No, bring it in.
- 30:50Speaker 1: There are shadows in only the parts of ourselves that
- 30:52Speaker 1: we have suppressed and put away because we carry shame for.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Yes.
- 30:55Speaker 1: We're not acknowledging that they exist inside of.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Us, right?
- 30:57Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. There's so many parts of ourselves. Yeah.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Fun confronting and all the things.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Absolutely. It's a journey. Yeah. There's times where it pops
- 31:04Speaker 1: up for us and we're like, oh, we need to
- 31:06Speaker 1: do some shadow work on that.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Yes. Cheeky. Yeah.
- 31:08Speaker 1: It's cheeky. It's resurfaced again. No. And then the one
- 31:12Speaker 1: after that is healthy, masculine and feminine energy. We're talking
- 31:14Speaker 1: about this in the podcast, but once again, through Rise Inside,
- 31:17Speaker 1: we get to go really, really deep. There's two full
- 31:19Speaker 1: hours with us and we've got our guest speaker and
- 31:21Speaker 1: then we do the live chat. But This is just
- 31:23Speaker 1: a beautiful topic because I think in social media too,
- 31:25Speaker 1: it's like, oh, you're more masculine, you're more feminine, but
- 31:28Speaker 1: we believe you can have a healthy balance of both.
- 31:30Speaker 1: And I think both serve us really well depending on
- 31:32Speaker 1: where we're at, whether we're in work mode, whether we're
- 31:34Speaker 1: in mom mode, whether we're in a relationship. And I
- 31:37Speaker 1: think both energies in males and females, when they can
- 31:41Speaker 1: do a dance together, it's so beautiful. I love our
- 31:44Speaker 1: masculine energy. We get shit done and we achieve so
- 31:46Speaker 1: much and we get to create a credible life that
- 31:48Speaker 1: we're really proud of. And I also love just being
- 31:50Speaker 1: so feminine and playful and soft and receive and also
- 31:53Speaker 1: expand my beautiful home. Like there's so many beautiful parts
- 31:56Speaker 1: of both energies. So we explore both of them and
- 31:59Speaker 1: neither is good or bad. No. Yeah.
- 32:02Speaker 2: And it interchanges based on what season that you're in.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Yes, true. That's a good point. Oh, yeah.
- 32:06Speaker 2: That's a fun conversation.
- 32:07Speaker 1: There's lots we dive into.
- 32:08Speaker 2: You've got to be there to enjoy it. The next
- 32:10Speaker 2: one is going to be the pleasure path. So this
- 32:12Speaker 2: is really just about activating that once you balance your
- 32:15Speaker 2: masculine and feminine energies, this is going to happen naturally.
- 32:17Speaker 2: So naturally, this is the natural next step. Of really
- 32:20Speaker 2: connecting back with yourself, your body, your essence, your pleasure,
- 32:23Speaker 2: like your fun. And I just like it's this real
- 32:26Speaker 2: like oozy kind of fun, playful energy that brings like
- 32:29Speaker 2: a zest for life.
- 32:30Speaker 1: It does.
- 32:31Speaker 2: That maybe you haven't had. And you'll know what I'm
- 32:33Speaker 2: talking about if you don't have this because you'll be like, oh,
- 32:36Speaker 2: I just feel like I'm so serious all the time
- 32:39Speaker 2: and life is hard and it's a slog and it
- 32:41Speaker 2: feels like Groundhog Day every day. When you're in that season,
- 32:44Speaker 2: you don't have a lot of pleasure in your life.
- 32:46Speaker 2: But when you do have it, you're going to be confident.
- 32:47Speaker 1: You're going to be bold.
- 32:48Speaker 2: You're going to be assertive on your boundaries. You're going
- 32:50Speaker 2: to feel like you're glowing and you've got like a
- 32:52Speaker 2: pep in your step and you feel just sexy in
- 32:54Speaker 2: your body no matter what you look like. And it's
- 32:56Speaker 2: a very different way of doing life. And integrating that
- 32:59Speaker 2: is going to bring so much more fun and play
- 33:00Speaker 2: into your life.
- 33:01Speaker 1: It's so much fun. I honestly describe it when you're
- 33:03Speaker 1: in your pleasure. And this doesn't just mean having an orgasm.
- 33:06Speaker 1: It's like finding pleasure in the mundane tasks, in the
- 33:09Speaker 1: everyday moments, in your everyday life. Literally, you can find
- 33:12Speaker 1: pleasure in so many things. And when you are in
- 33:14Speaker 1: that energy... it is a life force energy. You literally
- 33:18Speaker 1: feel electric, magnetic, so lit up. And I'm not always
- 33:21Speaker 1: in that, but I tell you when I am, I
- 33:23Speaker 1: feel so alive. When I'm not in it, I feel
- 33:27Speaker 1: dead inside. There's such a contrast. So when you learn
- 33:31Speaker 1: about this, you get easy to pull yourself back into it.
- 33:33Speaker 1: But if you're not aware, you can go a whole
- 33:35Speaker 1: year without pleasure and be like, oh, life's just hard
- 33:37Speaker 1: and shit. And it's not my season, dah, dah, dah,
- 33:39Speaker 1: you know?
- 33:40Speaker 2: Don't you reckon you can tell when a woman's in
- 33:41Speaker 2: it versus when she's not?
- 33:42Speaker 1: Absolutely. It's like chalk and cheese, hey? Yeah. From a
- 33:45Speaker 1: mile away. You can see it, feel it.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Then there's passion and purpose, and this is finding your fire.
- 33:50Speaker 2: So if you've ever, maybe even along the way, you
- 33:53Speaker 2: felt like you've kind of fallen off your path or
- 33:55Speaker 2: you feel disconnected from your purpose, this month is really
- 33:58Speaker 2: going to bring all of these months full circle for
- 34:00Speaker 2: you so that you can do the internal transformation and
- 34:03Speaker 2: then come out the other side from your elevated version
- 34:06Speaker 2: of yourself to finding your why and your passions again.
- 34:09Speaker 2: And I think this is a really important part because
- 34:11Speaker 2: maybe right now you're making a decision of like what
- 34:14Speaker 2: your purpose is may come from a previous version of
- 34:17Speaker 2: you or a wounded version of you or a version
- 34:19Speaker 2: of you that is limited based on your past. And
- 34:21Speaker 2: we want to activate you entirely first before we can
- 34:24Speaker 2: take you on that journey. And I truly do believe
- 34:27Speaker 2: that life will be so different when you are connected
- 34:29Speaker 2: to something that is bigger than you and when you
- 34:31Speaker 2: can understand what your passion is and tie that into
- 34:33Speaker 2: your purpose, it's like that's the sweet spot of life
- 34:35Speaker 2: where you can make money doing what you love to
- 34:38Speaker 2: do and actually live a life that feels really fulfilling.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Absolutely. Even if you don't tie them in, having passions
- 34:44Speaker 1: that are just pure passion, pure enjoyment, hobbies, like for me, dancing,
- 34:48Speaker 1: I'm not going to make a career out of it,
- 34:49Speaker 1: but that's my passions. And then purpose, like you said,
- 34:51Speaker 1: something outside of yourself that makes impact, that serves the community,
- 34:54Speaker 1: that's something just like bigger.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Having that deep purpose that you just know you were
- 34:58Speaker 1: born here to do and If you can combine them, perfect.
- 35:01Speaker 1: I agree. That's like the ultimate duo. Sweet spot. Sweet spot. Yeah.
- 35:04Speaker 1: But even if you don't combine them, it's okay to
- 35:06Speaker 1: have passion and purpose separately. But knowing what both of
- 35:08Speaker 1: those are and actually living them is so important. If
- 35:11Speaker 1: you don't have passion, like things that light you up. Yeah.
- 35:14Speaker 1: That's not as fun. It's not as fun. It's not
- 35:15Speaker 1: as fun.
- 35:16Speaker 2: No. Because then you're just like, oh, I feel like
- 35:18Speaker 2: an adult. Yeah.
- 35:19Speaker 1: And then as an adult, when I get asked this,
- 35:21Speaker 1: it's like, oh, how do I find my passion? Like,
- 35:23Speaker 1: what did you enjoy as a little girl? This is
- 35:24Speaker 1: how I rediscovered. I went back to dancing. Yeah. I
- 35:27Speaker 1: signed up for netball again. Then I got pregnant. Yeah.
- 35:30Speaker 1: But like I started doing the sporty things that I
- 35:32Speaker 1: loved doing as a kid. So fun. Even when we
- 35:34Speaker 1: went for that staycay, played touch footy, played cricket, tennis,
- 35:37Speaker 1: like all the sports. I'm like, oh, I just felt
- 35:39Speaker 1: like a kid again. I got to play that with
- 35:41Speaker 1: my kids. It was just the best.
- 35:42Speaker 2: That's so nice.
- 35:42Speaker 1: So I feel like that's a good way to find
- 35:44Speaker 1: your hobbies. And still, if you don't know, it's like
- 35:46Speaker 1: go try some things. Go try a pottery class or
- 35:48Speaker 1: painting or naked yoga, whatever you want to do. Find
- 35:51Speaker 1: your passions by like putting yourself out there and just
- 35:54Speaker 1: giving things a go. You won't know until you try.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Absolutely. Yeah. Couldn't have said it better.
- 35:58Speaker 1: So that. is why we chose 12 months. You can
- 36:00Speaker 1: see each of those months need time to not only learn,
- 36:04Speaker 1: bring awareness, but also integrate into. So every month is
- 36:07Speaker 1: locked until you complete all of it. You cannot move
- 36:10Speaker 1: onto it faster than what you'd like to. We have
- 36:12Speaker 1: some girls like, oh no, I smashed it in two days.
- 36:14Speaker 1: I'm like, cool. Now you've got three and a half
- 36:16Speaker 1: weeks to actually integrate it, practice it, talk about it,
- 36:19Speaker 1: ask questions, dive deeper, redo the meditations, the pep talk.
- 36:23Speaker 1: That's another thing too, is you get four meditations per
- 36:25Speaker 1: month and four little pep talks as well. So It's jam-packed,
- 36:29Speaker 1: but I really believe you can go at your own pace.
- 36:31Speaker 1: And once you're in, you can cancel any time, but
- 36:33Speaker 1: you also revisit. So some of the girls that have
- 36:35Speaker 1: gone through six months are like, oh, it's a heavier
- 36:37Speaker 1: season in life. I've actually gone back to the nervous
- 36:39Speaker 1: system again because those meditations is what is going to
- 36:42Speaker 1: get me through. So you can like revisit the months.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Sometimes even a book, like you said, you're going to
- 36:46Speaker 1: read that book for the third time. You can hear
- 36:48Speaker 1: things so many times at different seasons of your life
- 36:51Speaker 1: and take on different pieces of information.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Absolutely. Because every time that you revisit something, you are
- 36:55Speaker 2: a different version of yourself. So the way that you're
- 36:58Speaker 2: interpreting what you're reading changes based on what you need
- 37:01Speaker 2: at that new level. Yeah. And that's what I love
- 37:03Speaker 2: about it. I've even got a client of mine who,
- 37:05Speaker 2: you know, is in Rise Inside and she's like, oh,
- 37:07Speaker 2: right now I'm just like really struggling with the mindset aspect.
- 37:10Speaker 2: I went in and I've gone and listened to the
- 37:11Speaker 2: Mindset Month and I'm starting from there.
- 37:13Speaker 1: So cool.
- 37:14Speaker 2: But it's like she's revisiting it from a new version
- 37:16Speaker 2: of herself with a new challenge and a new problem
- 37:19Speaker 2: based on what's coming up for her in that present moment.
- 37:21Speaker 2: So it's like just constantly being open to receiving what
- 37:24Speaker 2: it is that's there so that you can actually evolve
- 37:26Speaker 2: through that challenge.
- 37:27Speaker 1: That's so cool.
- 37:28Speaker 2: So awesome.
- 37:29Speaker 1: So if you're listening and you're like, holy fuck, I
- 37:30Speaker 1: didn't know where to start and now I know where
- 37:32Speaker 1: to start, just DM us through at Rise Inside and
- 37:35Speaker 1: we can answer some questions and just take you along
- 37:37Speaker 1: that journey and send you the links. We'd love to
- 37:39Speaker 1: have you involved in the community. I think it's the
- 37:41Speaker 1: best place to start when it comes to working with us.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Like obviously you can go into it, do Accelerate and
- 37:45Speaker 1: come to the retreats and work with Tiana one-on-one. But
- 37:47Speaker 1: if you've never done any of this work before, or
- 37:49Speaker 1: maybe you did years ago and you've kind of stopped,
- 37:52Speaker 1: this is the perfect place to start. I truly believe it. Yeah.
- 37:54Speaker 2: It's a powerful place. Do lots of fun things in there.
- 37:57Speaker 1: We do. So I hope that helps answer all your
- 37:59Speaker 1: questions that we have come through about Rise Inside. We're
- 38:01Speaker 1: very proud of it and we just know it's going
- 38:02Speaker 1: to changed a lot of people's lives and is changing
- 38:04Speaker 1: a lot of people's lives. So it's really cool. I'd
- 38:07Speaker 1: love to see you in there.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Thank you for listening and we'll see you on the
- 38:09Speaker 2: next one.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Bye.
