- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, Demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam Smith in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here and you're about to listen to a deep sleep
- 0:43hypnosis session that is designed to do 2 things.
- 0:47One, help you have a really good night's sleep.
- 0:51And the second thing is to break a dependency or habit of using
- 0:58your phone immediately before going to bed.
- 1:02And that's important for a couple of reasons. 1 is that a
- 1:06lot of the applications that people use right before they go
- 1:10to sleep give them either dopamine or some kind of
- 1:15stimulation. So that's not conducive to a
- 1:18restful night's sleep. And the second thing is that it
- 1:22can create open loops. So it might be that you've
- 1:25learned something and you're wondering about what the next
- 1:28thing is. Or it might be that there's an A
- 1:30message exchange, but you. Haven't you?
- 1:33Don't know what the next message is going to be and these open
- 1:36loops actually make it more difficult to sleep.
- 1:40So what's included in this hypnosis session?
- 1:43Is a. Suggestion of having a boundary
- 1:47that also creates friction and there's two parts to this
- 1:50boundary 1 is. Physically.
- 1:52Turning your phone off. I mentioned 10:00 PM here
- 1:55because that's the client that I was working with and that's what
- 1:57they wanted. You can set that time, whichever
- 2:00is the right time for you, but physically turning it off then
- 2:04has the suggestion that as you turn the phone off, you're
- 2:07priming your brain to get ready for sleep.
- 2:10And the second thing is that people that really are, let's
- 2:14say, addicted or have lots of use on their phone and they're
- 2:18used to getting that dopamine, quite often will wake up three
- 2:21or four or five times a night and kind of check their phone.
- 2:24So this also has the suggestion of using a time safe.
- 2:28A time safe is like a small metal box with a code on the on
- 2:34the the front where you set the time that it locks and the time
- 2:37that it opens. So that way, even if you're
- 2:40tempted to kind of check your phone at 1:00 AM, you can't
- 2:44access it. And that can be a really helpful
- 2:46way not to live that way permanently, but to break the
- 2:49pattern of dependency or automatic checking or scrolling.
- 2:55This session is about 15 minutes long, but then it has an extra
- 2:5930 minutes of. Theta wave music.
- 3:01So there's around about 45 minutes here, which is more than
- 3:05enough. If you are listening on some
- 3:08kind of device, it doesn't have to be your phone.
- 3:11It could be a different device that you're listening to this
- 3:13on. Some people listen through some
- 3:15of the smart speakers like an Alexa device, and some people
- 3:18listen through their laptop. If you are listening, and this
- 3:22is my hack that I use for myself, sometimes I'll listen to
- 3:26my own hypnosis sessions through a smart speaker.
- 3:30And when I'm listening, I then give it the command to sleep
- 3:35after a certain amount of time. So I might say sleep after 20
- 3:38minutes knowing that there's nothing I have to turn off or
- 3:41switch off at the end. It's going to do it by itself.
- 3:44So you can. Borrow that hack.
- 3:46If it's useful, if you like this kind of stuff, it's always
- 3:49helpful for the algorithm. If you can either like
- 3:51subscribe, follow, share, anything like that, it's really
- 3:54helpful. And if you like the idea of
- 3:56working with me directly, maybe for a bespoke sleep session,
- 4:00there will be a link in the show notes where you can book a free
- 4:0230 minute consultation call. So rather than listening for a
- 4:06recording that was created for someone else, you can actually
- 4:09have the experience live and get the recording created entirely
- 4:13for you. So if that appeals, check that
- 4:16out. Now this.
- 4:16Is a sleep. Hypnosis session.
- 4:18So normally I don't recommend that people listen to this right
- 4:22before they go to sleep. But this is.
- 4:25A sleep hypnosis session. This is the exception.
- 4:27So at the end you're going to hear either an awakening or a
- 4:32deepener depending on the context.
- 4:34So if you listen to this and you don't plan on sleeping straight
- 4:36away. Then treat the count.
- 4:38From 1:00 to 10:00 as an awakener.
- 4:40But if you're listening to this and you're in bed and your
- 4:42head's already on the pillow, then the one to 10 will actually
- 4:45be a deepener, allowing you to drift into sleep.
- 4:49So ideally, the best way to get the most out of this session
- 4:52would be actually to listen in bed, ideally not on your phone
- 4:56device. So find that comfortable place,
- 5:00ideally your bed, relax and enjoy the session.
- 5:14Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 5:23slow, long, relaxing breath. And as you exhale, feel that
- 5:31sense of release, as if tension, stress, or worries are starting
- 5:41to leave your body in your outward breath.
- 5:49And when you breathe in, breathe in deeper than you normally
- 5:55would, and as you exhale, just allow the outward breath to go
- 6:07on even longer, so that each breath takes you deeper than the
- 6:17last, hoping you feel a sense of increasing relaxation.
- 6:32Notice with your eyes closed how much easier it becomes to focus
- 6:40on the sound of my voice, breathing in and breathing out,
- 6:47slow, long and deep. And with every breath your body
- 6:54relaxes a little more. And maybe you can notice
- 7:00physical changes, perhaps tension releasing around your
- 7:07shoulders, maybe your arms feeling loose or heavy, and your
- 7:16eyelids rest so comfortably, as if they were meant to stay
- 7:21closed for deep relaxation. And as you continue breathing
- 7:31slowly and deeply, you can imagine a wave of calm moving
- 7:37from the top of your head down through your body, all the way
- 7:45into your toes. With each wave, your mind
- 7:53becomes quieter and your body feels more relaxed or heavier,
- 8:00yet still supported, safe and ready to drift deeply.
- 8:11Because as your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 8:19And that's what a memory is, harnessing the power of your
- 8:25imagination to reactivate certain neural networks and
- 8:31pathways. So now I'd like you to remember
- 8:37a particular time. A time where you know for
- 8:45certain you had an incredible night's sleep.
- 8:53And maybe maybe it was when you were on a holiday in that
- 9:01relaxed state of mind and you can recall the accommodation or
- 9:08the bed where you were sleeping. Or maybe it was a time when you
- 9:15were visiting someone, maybe a friend.
- 9:20Maybe there was a dedicated space that had no connotation
- 9:26other than to sleep. And I want you to picture that
- 9:32comfortable bed in that dedicated space.
- 9:39And then imagine you're in that room feeling cosy, welcoming,
- 9:49and everything about it signals primes that this is a place for
- 9:58deep rest. And just imagine you're wearing
- 10:03whatever clothing is suitable to sleep and imagine.
- 10:10Getting into that. Bed feeling the softness of the
- 10:14pillow, the comfort and firmness of the mattress, or the warmth
- 10:24of a duvet. And I want you to feel how you
- 10:31felt back then. Safe, relaxed and comfortable.
- 10:42And you may remember, but I want you to feel how easy it was to
- 10:48fall asleep there, as if your whole body already knew that
- 10:56this was a place only for sleeping and nothing else.
- 11:04And as you relive that moment, those same neural pathways of
- 11:10good restorative sleep are reactivating now, only this time
- 11:18stronger and stronger, reminding your mind and body what it feels
- 11:28like to drift easily into deep, nourishing rest.
- 11:40And as you enjoy this memory, you can notice and evaluate that
- 11:49this feels more rewarding than any scream, any app, any
- 11:59notification that from now on your brain begins to associate
- 12:06the evening not with stimulation, with winding down,
- 12:15with calm and with peace. As I count down from 5 to 1, I
- 12:25want you to imagine what it would feel like to drift off
- 12:29into a dreamlike sleep. There in that bed, on that
- 12:35pillow. 5 eyelids getting heavier. 4, your body relaxing,
- 12:44Three, your breathing slowing down even more, Two, you're
- 12:51accessing that state just before sleep happens.
- 12:57And one, just imagine drifting off into a dream like sleep.
- 13:05And some dreams can give wonderful insights, ideas, new
- 13:13ways of thinking that can improve the quality of your
- 13:18sleep and your life. And in that dreamlike sleep, I
- 13:25want you to imagine a near future.
- 13:30And in that near future, see yourself with productive blocks
- 13:38of chime there in the daytime, maybe blocks of four or five
- 13:44hours separated with a break and then another block.
- 13:52See yourself intentionally more focused and determined in those
- 13:58blocks of time, so that as it turns into evening, you see that
- 14:07version of you actively looking forward to sleep.
- 14:14But I want you to see yourself with a new ritual, A boundary.
- 14:21I want you to see that as it leaves 9:00 and approaches 10,
- 14:32you know this is already the winding down time.
- 14:38Maybe there's certain rituals about what you do during that
- 14:43time, a signal to yourself to get ready, to decompress, to
- 14:53relax. To unwind but.
- 15:01Part of this ritual is either at 10:00 PM or before you actively
- 15:11switch your phone off completely.
- 15:16Not putting it on airplane mode, and not just putting it out of
- 15:21sight, but switching it off. And as you turn the phone off,
- 15:28you are sending a message to your unconscious that your brain
- 15:35can also turn off that conscious, logical, analytical
- 15:41part and go into that relaxing, intuitive, unwinding part.
- 15:50But maybe you see yourself reinforcing your boundary, not
- 15:57because you have to, but because you want to.
- 16:02And imagine seeing that after you physically turned that phone
- 16:09off, see yourself putting the phone in a time safe.
- 16:21It's time safe means that after 10:00 PM it's locked.
- 16:27You simply can't access it and it only opens when the time is
- 16:36set to open and you get to decide what time that is, maybe
- 16:45that 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM or later you.
- 16:49Decide and in. Doing so, you're not missing out
- 17:01by having this boundary, this friction.
- 17:07You know that your phone is completely out of reach until
- 17:13morning, and as it locks away, so does the stimulation, the
- 17:19noise, the distractions, and you can almost hear your mind sigh
- 17:27with relief as you're now free to really unwind and recharge.
- 17:40I want you to imagine in this dreamlike sleep, seeing that
- 17:45even after just a few days of this ritual, you're sleeping
- 17:50better, you're more productive in the daytime.
- 17:57And it's not that you can't use your phone, you're just using
- 18:02your phone intentionally. If you need to learn something,
- 18:07it's there. You need to connect with
- 18:11someone, it's there. And you may even have certain
- 18:18environments where you feel that that dead time can be used to
- 18:26check social media for updates, notifications and alerts.
- 18:33Maybe it's the time when you're queuing and there's nothing else
- 18:36to do when you're waiting for someone or something.
- 18:42What if that's the time to check, turning dead time into
- 18:47useful time? But this doesn't have to be at
- 18:55night. Those evenings of late night
- 19:02scrolling I've only hindered your sleep, which has impeded
- 19:08your productivity. So see a future where you're
- 19:14sleeping better, waking more energized, being more productive
- 19:21in those blocks of time. And see that you're getting your
- 19:25dopamine now from accomplishments, achievements,
- 19:32and satisfaction, not from the temporary gratification of a a
- 19:38like or notification or a message.
- 19:47And then I want you to imagine further in the future.
- 19:53Imagine yourself on holiday. And I want you to now compare.
- 20:01That quality of sleep that you get on holiday, it's very
- 20:05similar to the quality of sleep you're getting in day-to-day
- 20:09life, because whether you're in holiday mode or work mode, you
- 20:19now have a way to activate sleep mode.
- 20:25Part of that ritual is turning your phone off, making it
- 20:31inaccessible for a certain period of time.
- 20:37Because you don't need to wait for a holiday to feel this way.
- 20:43You can feel relaxed and comfortable and enjoy sleep
- 20:51whenever you choose so that every night can feel like a
- 20:58holiday, your body and mind. And very soon I will count from
- 21:101:00 to 10:00. And if you're listening this at
- 21:14a time when you want to awaken, then you will awaken.
- 21:20But if you happen to be listening to this when the time
- 21:25is right to sleep, then as I count from 1:00 to 10:00 it will
- 21:31simply take you deeper into that sleep like state starting to
- 21:41count 123, 456, 789 and 10. Yeah.
- 23:30The. The.
- 25:30None. The.
- 31:00The. None.
- 34:30A. A.
- 35:30The. Yeah.
- 36:30The. The.
- 39:00The. Yeah.
- 40:00The. Yeah.
- 45:01A. None.
- 49:31A. The.
- 51:01Yeah.
