- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities CE OS and even royalty Adam Cox, these
- 0:21recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's world
- 0:24famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here. Now, if you've ever experienced
- 0:42deep shame, and I'm not just talking about being ashamed,
- 0:46like you did something and you were like, oh, I'm ashamed I did
- 0:49that. I'm talking deep shame like
- 0:52there is something wrong with you.
- 0:53Like you don't deserve to be alive because of that kind of
- 0:56shame. Then you.
- 0:57Might be able to connect to the essence of this hypnosis session
- 1:01because I was. Working with.
- 1:03A client that, based on their childhood shame, was used as one
- 1:07of the primary weapons to control them, to humiliate, to
- 1:12make them feel exposed, to make them feel vulnerable, to
- 1:15effectively control them by the fear of being publicly shamed.
- 1:21Now, because of that childhood, they were very sensitive to
- 1:25anything that felt like judgement, anything that felt
- 1:28like conflict, anything that felt like all eyes were on them.
- 1:33Of course, they were highly sensitized to that because that
- 1:36was such a brutal weapon used against them in childhood.
- 1:40So this hypnosis session aims to release a lot of childhood shame
- 1:46and release the key ingredients that lead to judgement.
- 1:50And that's really important because actually acceptance is
- 1:54one of those things that if you truly accept certain areas, then
- 2:00being shamed or judged or criticized doesn't really work.
- 2:05And I'll share this with you because I think it's helpful.
- 2:08When I was in my 20s, I started losing my hair and I was quite
- 2:12self-conscious about that. And I, I hadn't accepted that.
- 2:16And therefore if someone made a comment or was kind of made a
- 2:19joke about it, I was triggered by that.
- 2:21I was sensitive. About that.
- 2:24And I don't feel that way now because I fully accept that I'm
- 2:28bold and I think I look OK with no hair but it comes from self
- 2:33acceptance. But if I didn't accept it then
- 2:36it would still be a trigger for me now for the client I was
- 2:40working with. It was other.
- 2:42Things It was things about dominance, it was things about
- 2:45control, it was things about winning and losing that were
- 2:48triggers for them. But acceptance is still the
- 2:52antidote to that feeling of being ashamed.
- 2:56Or criticized or. Judged.
- 2:59So if you can relate to any of those themes, you might get some
- 3:02value from this session. But to get the most of the
- 3:05session, I would encourage you to think what is it that you
- 3:09feel ashamed about or what is it that triggers you?
- 3:14Because that will give us a. Clue.
- 3:15As to the area of your life that you may still benefit from a
- 3:19level of self acceptance. So hold that thought and then as
- 3:24you listen to the session, the suggestions that are relevant to
- 3:27you and your circumstances will be more influential than if you
- 3:31just listened passively. For now though, find a quiet,
- 3:35comfortable place where you won't be distracted or
- 3:37disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:12Take a deep. Breath in, and as you breathe
- 4:19in, breathe in a resourceful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 4:26And as you exhale, that's it. Allow your eyelids.
- 4:31To close. And as they close, adjust your
- 4:36body in such a way where each breath allows you to go deeper
- 4:43and deeper. Relaxed.
- 4:47Scan your whole. Body for clues.
- 4:49Of tension, perhaps around your forehead, your jaw, your neck,
- 4:55or your shoulders. Breathing in relaxation and
- 5:02exhaling tension. Consider every outward breath as
- 5:11a. Release a release.
- 5:16Of shame a. Release of.
- 5:21Judgement A. Release of any.
- 5:27Feelings of unworthiness. And as you breathe in, imagine
- 5:34breathing in radical self acceptance, the kind of
- 5:44acceptance that can make you immune to criticism, judgement
- 5:58or the manipulation of others. And I want you to think that if
- 6:05self acceptance had a colour, what colour would it be?
- 6:13And as you breathe in, imagine breathing in a glowing colour of
- 6:20radical self acceptance. And I want you to think.
- 6:30Think of things that in the past created some kind of reaction,
- 6:41shaking, overthinking. And I want you to allow your
- 6:50unconscious mind to consider. All of your beliefs, all of your
- 7:00rules. Like a complex game of four
- 7:05dimensional chess those times in the past.
- 7:13That you were triggered. Is like a move and think of the
- 7:19counter move as a question. What would I need to accept
- 7:29within myself so that if the same thing was to happen again,
- 7:41it wouldn't bother me at all? And you might be surprised to
- 7:48learn that it may come down to just one or two things.
- 7:59What you. Accept within yourself or
- 8:04perhaps how you evaluate the person that's doing the judging,
- 8:16the criticizing, or behind the conflict.
- 8:27Continue to breathe in relaxation.
- 8:30Exhale tension, breathe in worthiness, exhale unworthiness,
- 8:41breathe in acceptance, and exhale judgement.
- 8:52I want you to explore a possibility.
- 8:57What if your harshest critic is yourself?
- 9:06What if most of the judgement is coming from you?
- 9:12I want you to imagine that if you were attempting to play
- 9:22chess with yourself, if you're both the player and the
- 9:29opponent, how is it possible to win?
- 9:37If a part of you wins, the other part loses, and if the other
- 9:42part wins, the original part loses.
- 9:50And I want you to get a sense that radical self acceptance
- 9:57starts with finding a sense of harmony within.
- 10:10I want you to imagine. A place.
- 10:14That used to spend time alone in childhood, perhaps a safe place.
- 10:24A place that even if you didn't feel safe outside, in that
- 10:30place, you felt safe even if it was just within your
- 10:37imagination. And when you found a place like
- 10:41that, let me know about nodding your head.
- 10:48And I think, I think there's a part within that has been using
- 10:57judgement and shame and criticism as a way to fuel your
- 11:10success and accomplishments. And if that feels true, let me
- 11:18know by nodding your head. And I want you to imagine being
- 11:24there in that safe place to invite that part of you into the
- 11:30room, the part that judges you harshly if you lose or fail,
- 11:43don't quite meet an exceptionally high standard.
- 11:47And when that part is in the room with you, let me know by
- 11:51nodding your head. And I want you to see how that
- 11:58part seems. Are they insecure or confident?
- 12:05Are they strong? Are they weak?
- 12:09Do they feel wise or on edge? And I want you to thank that
- 12:19part. It's not expecting to be
- 12:24thanked. It thinks it's going to be
- 12:26criticized, but I want you to thank that part for a wonderful
- 12:34intention. And I want you to ask that part.
- 12:43Ask that part if it's trying to do something good for you.
- 12:50And if it is, let me know by nodding your head.
- 12:53That's it. And I want you to ask that part
- 13:00if it's trying to help you succeed and accomplish and grow,
- 13:07or if it's something else. And if it's to succeed and
- 13:11accomplish, let me know by nodding your head.
- 13:19I want you to ask that part what is it doing for you?
- 13:28And if it responds, let me know by nodding its head.
- 13:33That's it. And I want you to acknowledge
- 13:41that a wonderful intention can lead to a great deal of stress,
- 13:54sometimes low self worth. It might have been trying to
- 14:02give you high standards to help help you find acceptance, love,
- 14:12respect, but I want you to ask that part if it's willing to.
- 14:22Help. Meet the underlying intention in
- 14:26a different way, and if it's respective and responsive to
- 14:34that, let me know by nodding your head.
- 14:42I want you to stream, almost telepathically, memories of all
- 14:50of the emotional pain that you felt as a direct consequence of
- 14:57these good intentions moments. You felt unsafe, unworthy, small
- 15:08and vulnerable, and weak. Telepathically.
- 15:13Stream those memories straight to this part that have these
- 15:18wonderful intentions, like your colliding intention with
- 15:25consequence while acknowledging that it's given you a lot of
- 15:32good things. Motivation.
- 15:35Work ethic. Responsibility drive.
- 15:42But it's also come at a cost. And if that part responsible for
- 15:49those good intentions acknowledges that these
- 15:56intentions have come at a cost, let me know by nodding your
- 15:59head. And I want you to reassure that
- 16:04part that it can keep the intention, maintain the high
- 16:09standards, but avoid some of the emotional pain.
- 16:17Because how can you have the highest standards if you feel
- 16:24unsafe, unworthy. I want you to communicate to
- 16:34that part. Then whenever someone is
- 16:38triggered, they can be manipulated.
- 16:41And I think, I think this part is so influential because.
- 16:48It helped you. Cope with an unfair past.
- 16:52And if that's true, let me know about nodding your head.
- 16:56That's it. I want you to offer this part a
- 17:03new role that instead. Of strict.
- 17:10Standards and rules. It uses acceptance, inspiration,
- 17:20and encouragement. You can never lose your drive
- 17:26for success and accomplishment. That doesn't mean it has to be
- 17:31done in only one way. You can accept yourself and
- 17:41still have a desire to improve yourself.
- 17:46You can accept your current capabilities while striving to
- 17:53improve them. You can accept current
- 18:00limitations or weaknesses while planning on defending and
- 18:06strengthening them. And if this part is willing to
- 18:13help you in a way where you feel more resourceful than ever
- 18:23before through a hybrid of self acceptance and a desire to grow
- 18:33because you value growth, not because you need external
- 18:38validation or permission. Let me know about nodding your
- 18:44head. That's it.
- 18:49And I want you to promote that part.
- 18:54Give it more responsibility, but make that additional
- 19:00responsibility include radical self acceptance.
- 19:09They say you can't manage what you don't measure.
- 19:14How cute. How can you?
- 19:16Improve something if you can't accept where you are and if that
- 19:24part is willing. To.
- 19:27Neutralize feelings of shame and judgement through radical self
- 19:33acceptance without losing the hunger to grow and improve.
- 19:40Then it's worthy of its promotion if it's willing to
- 19:45take on that increased responsibility.
- 19:49Let me know by nodding your head and then seal it with a
- 19:53handshake, a hug with this part and then notice.
- 19:59How the physical? Representation of this part is
- 20:02now evolving, changing somewhat. Maybe it seems more nuanced,
- 20:12wiser, more capable, more influential, and I have a
- 20:19feeling that this part will embrace this new role.
- 20:25Because how can you truly be? At your highest standards, if
- 20:33the stick of judgement and shame is used to motivate you rather
- 20:39than the carrot of growth, of improvement, of pride and
- 20:49fulfilment. I want you to imagine seeing
- 20:58that part responsible for all of this shame and judgement,
- 21:03leaving with a new insight, a new role, a new level and way of
- 21:13thinking. But before we leave.
- 21:21This safe place I want you to connect with some ideas you
- 21:32begin to notice how safe it feels to let.
- 21:36Your worth? Come from inside you rather than
- 21:41other people's words or reactions,
- 21:53and each time you accept yourself more fully, your body
- 22:00naturally relaxes and your mind becomes more at peace.
- 22:10It's your own judgement that carries more weight, and there's
- 22:15no need to scan or brace for judgement when you already know
- 22:22who you are. And don't be surprised if other
- 22:30people's opinions gently lose their power as your own inner
- 22:36authority grow stronger. Disagreement does not mean
- 22:42rejection, and difference does not mean danger.
- 22:51And your nervous system is learning that confrontation can
- 22:56be calm, respectful, even useful.
- 23:02And the more you accept yourself, the less vigilant your
- 23:07mind needs to be. And you notice that judgement
- 23:16from others communicates more about them than it ever did
- 23:24about you. Your body releases.
- 23:32Tension. The moment.
- 23:35You stop. Bracing for criticism.
- 23:38That never truly. Belong to you, and each day you
- 23:48rely more on your own internal standards and less on any
- 23:55external validation. And as you think of your future,
- 24:02you feel a growing sense of freedom, a self acceptance
- 24:08replaces fear and calm replaces vigilance.
- 24:16Imagine yourself a year from now.
- 24:21A year of having that part within work, as an ally, as an
- 24:30internal coach rather than a harsh judge and critic.
- 24:37A year where yourself worth comes from your own evaluations,
- 24:45not the evaluations of others. And if this future feels more
- 24:53desirable, more empowering, and you're reassured that you still
- 24:58grow, accomplish, and succeed, let me know by nodding your
- 25:02head. That's it.
- 25:07So now it's time to leave that safe place and start to float
- 25:12all the way back to the present, taking all of these changes with
- 25:16you, and in particular the change to that part with the
- 25:21positive intention that had the unintended.
- 25:28Side effect of. Excessive shame and judgement.
- 25:33So take a deep breath in through the nose and out through the
- 25:36nose. Wiggle your fingers, wiggle your
- 25:39toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 25:41here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 25:48you. Starting to count 123 waking up
- 25:55456 more alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 25:59Open your eyes 910 Wide awake, Wide awake.
