Transcript
- 0:00Speaker: Good morning.
- 0:01Speaker: What is the measure of a person, of a man, of a woman?
- 0:05Speaker: What is the measure of a Homo sapien?
- 0:10Speaker: It's the level of their awareness.
- 0:14Speaker: They have a physical height, of course, a physiology, a physical structure based in centimeters and meters or inches and feet, but I'm talking more about what we bring to the table because of our DNA.
- 0:32Speaker: What is the measure of a human being?
- 0:38Speaker: How much one utilizes what we have in our DNA is an answer.
- 0:44Speaker: How much we utilize in our brain in this capacity we have some understanding of.
- 0:53Speaker: Being here now, aware of the bottom of one's feet, of one's toes gently spread, of one's heels gently raised, one's toe pads pressing ahead, in whatever direction you're in.
- 1:12Speaker: Just being aware is the point.
- 1:14Speaker: Feeling one's pulse somewhere in one's body.
- 1:20Speaker: It could be in your feet, could be in your arms, could be behind your eyes, one's cheeks.
- 1:27Speaker: It may be you can't find it at all.
- 1:30Speaker: And so check underneath the thumb on either wrist.
- 1:35Speaker: Press gently into the wrist crease under the thumb on your opposite hand with a couple of the fingers and feel your pulse, rhythmically orchestrating the cadence of one's life.
- 1:47Speaker: Feeling one's chest, putting one's hands on one's chest and feeling it rise.
- 1:53Speaker: Pausing when one is satisfied with one's inhale.
- 1:58Speaker: And then exhaling slowly, this time, slowly, more slowly, watching one's breath, and pausing when one has exhaled enough.
- 2:09Speaker: This is a four-part breath.
- 2:11Speaker: Inhale, pause, exhale, pause.
- 2:14Speaker: And playing, being playful, elongating one's breath, learning about one's breath, practicing.
- 2:21Speaker: If you like meditating on one's breath, it is a simple route for one to take into a state of focused concentration.
- 2:34Speaker: This is its purpose.
- 2:37Speaker: And the state of focused concentration has a further purpose to help us calm our minds and not be running all over the place with extraneous thoughts.
- 2:52Speaker: Serious or responsibility-laden thoughts, perhaps, but nonetheless, focusing, concentrating on a process in one's body, like one's breathing, can go a long way to calming one's being, oneself, down.
- 3:18Speaker: And this is what we're talking about.
- 3:21Speaker: When we take a second physical process, like our circulation of our blood through our arteries and veins, our bloodstream, then we're talking about another closely related bodily process.
- 3:39Speaker: Our breathing feeds the oxygen into the bloodstream through the lungs.
- 3:46Speaker: And then when all of this oxigenation is completed and carbon dioxide is transferred into the bloodstream in the hemoglobin, then it makes its way back to the lungs and is excreted as one's exhale.
- 4:03Speaker: It is a simple process, though each and every part of it is a miracle, as are you and I, of course, because we have many different constituent parts of the miracle of our being.
- 4:21Speaker: Yes, being here presently, with a wide open, expanse of sensitivity, feeling the sound without sound in one's ears or in one's auditory nerves, or one's brain where it connects.
- 4:45Speaker: Imagining in the distance, your horizon, gazing up higher beyond it, allowing oneself to become even more wide in perception, into the atmosphere, toward the stars, allowing oneself to grow with this sense of energetic awareness.
- 5:13Speaker: This is what we're talking about or can talk about in mindful meditation.
- 5:19Speaker: It can be just one's breath.
- 5:22Speaker: It can be one's breath and one's pulse.
- 5:26Speaker: Where are you now, my dear pulse?
- 5:30Speaker: Allowing one's pulse to undulate.
- 5:33Speaker: Feeling this is going on all the time.
- 5:42Speaker: One may or may not feel it, but that doesn't mean it's not happening.
- 5:47Speaker: One may or may not remember one is breathing, but that doesn't mean it's not happening.
- 5:53Speaker: Remembering, we have much to learn, to be humble about, to be thankful for.
- 6:03Speaker: This is being mindful.
- 6:05Speaker: This is having a wider perspective.
- 6:08Speaker: That's all.
- 6:10Speaker: Not smarter, not dumber, not anything other than having a wider perspective.
- 6:17Speaker: Why?
- 6:18Speaker: Why not?
- 6:19Speaker: There is so much to being alive, to being within this concept of existence, of creation, of our universe.
- 6:30Speaker: Why not take advantage of what there is?
- 6:34Speaker: This is what we're talking about.
- 6:36Speaker: In mindful meditation, to being aware, alert, awake, feeling a sense of awe.
- 6:50Speaker: In one's bodily awareness of one's processes of breathing and pulsing with life energy.
- 6:58Speaker: This is precisely what's going on.
- 7:02Speaker: Life energy disseminated through one's blood to thirty-seven trillion cells.
- 7:11Speaker: That's how many an adult Homo sapiens possesses.
- 7:15Speaker: Around thirty-seven trillion cells in their body at any one moment in time.
- 7:22Speaker: And they're being fed.
- 7:24Speaker: Thinking about this, this is whom we are.
- 7:28Speaker: We need to be aware.
- 7:33Speaker: We need to have a sense of consciousness, of perspective.
- 7:38Speaker: We have the dawning of the age of Aquarius, of which we are in this period, the dawn.
- 7:45Speaker: We are still children.
- 7:48Speaker: We need to mature a little bit more, in my opinion.
- 7:53Speaker: And so here we are, sharing.
- 7:59Speaker: Each of us a beacon, each of us a herald, to a direction mankind can confirm and direct themselves toward.
- 8:12Speaker: To be more responsible, to be a steward of our planet and our whole solar system.
- 8:21Speaker: You know, if we're the major life form in this planetary system, then by all rights it seems to me that we would call it our own.
- 8:32Speaker: Not that it is ours, but that we can easily take advantage of it, or more easily take advantage of it, than a civilization billions and billions and billions of miles further away.
- 8:48Speaker: And for sure there are more civilizations.
- 8:51Speaker: The UFOs people speak about is not because everyone's imagining these things, it's because it's happening.
- 9:01Speaker: And it is logical to have it happen.
- 9:04Speaker: So don't turn away from the idea.
- 9:08Speaker: Embrace the idea of exploring and investigating this idea in one's own mind.
- 9:14Speaker: Believe what you may, but the idea.
- 9:18Speaker: Science already has begun to create life in scientific circumstances based upon what the earth was like three and a half billion years ago.
- 9:33Speaker: So most likely it's occurred in different sun systems, in different planetary systems revolving around suns.
- 9:46Speaker: And there are trillions of suns.
- 9:49Speaker: Trillions, trillions, trillions of suns.
- 9:54Speaker: So how many planets around how many suns revolving peacefully like our own have had this good fortune to birth life upon itself?
- 10:09Speaker: I would say more than one.
- 10:11Speaker: Being here now, bundles of miracles remembering one's breath, one's pulse, one's whole body quaking with the undulations of one's heart squeezing blood through your corporal frame.
- 10:36Speaker: Feeling beneath this, as one's whole body shimmers in a celebratory delight, an ecstatic ecstasy, a sense of awe.
