Transcript
- 0:00Speaker: Good morning.
- 0:01Speaker: Are you going to be your best friend?
- 0:04Speaker: You want to be your best friend.
- 0:07Speaker: So let's start out our day, our journey together, being our own best friend.
- 0:14Speaker: And by being here, in my humble opinion, we are accomplishing this task.
- 0:23Speaker: We are becoming aware of ourselves so that we know what being a best friend means.
- 0:30Speaker: And it is uniquely changing in every moment, so we need to be aware as much as we can.
- 0:36Speaker: This is the thesis of mindful meditation, and we practice to become better at it.
- 0:44Speaker: Iterations of development are what we need.
- 0:50Speaker: So if we take little steps, we are apt to end up in the same place as if someone makes a dash or makes a great burst.
- 1:03Speaker: It may take more time, obviously.
- 1:06Speaker: But in the long run, in the scope of things, it is the same finish line.
- 1:13Speaker: Be careful how you measure your own goals and the way you proceed.
- 1:18Speaker: Perhaps you have been doing something religiously and regularly, and then something happens, your circumstances, environment change, and you aren't doing it all of a sudden, and you're all of a sudden noticing this, that there's a lack of, let's just say, for an example, one's own physicality, one's own bodily exercise.
- 1:46Speaker: Because of the circumstances and environment one finds themselves in.
- 1:51Speaker: What do we do?
- 1:53Speaker: Do we immediately think we can go back to the workout or the type of exercise or activities that we had in an instance if we haven't been doing them for a while?
- 2:06Speaker: Maybe.
- 2:07Speaker: Maybe we do.
- 2:09Speaker: I want to get that right back, damn it.
- 2:12Speaker: Well, be careful.
- 2:14Speaker: Be kind and considerate, be understanding, show compassion and empathy and wisdom.
- 2:22Speaker: It is not necessarily this way.
- 2:25Speaker: Widening one's perspective means to look with a wider viewpoint and say to yourself, wait a minute, let's analyze the differences of responses I can have.
- 2:40Speaker: Doing it in little pieces maybe means that you help yourself get the hook of something better, that you build up a practice.
- 2:50Speaker: You are increasing your habituation in this direction again.
- 2:55Speaker: This is what we're talking about.
- 2:57Speaker: Oh, if I did something before for 15 minutes, maybe I should start with ten.
- 3:04Speaker: Or if I find that this is a difficult proposition to take on, then do it for five.
- 3:12Speaker: Don't dwell in the land of disappointment and failure.
- 3:18Speaker: Become your, be your best friend.
- 3:22Speaker: This is what we mean by being kind, being helpful, being helpful to oneself, being helpful to everyone.
- 3:32Speaker: Because when one is helpful to oneself, one's state of mind, one's mindfulness, virtuosity, then one is helping everyone.
- 3:44Speaker: For exemplifying these characteristics and traits in oneself means those in one's proximity, surrounding oneself, in conversation or communication are going to feel this.
- 3:58Speaker: It may be nothing more than a smile, or it may be a conversation, or a nod of a head, or more, or less.
- 4:09Speaker: just in the ambiance of a place or space one is occupying.
- 4:15Speaker: Don't forget everything we've just been talking about, everything that's been said and if we are experiencing being here now.
- 4:26Speaker: Because we are helping to create this.
- 4:30Speaker: Remember our shining creature We began with this journey.
- 4:35Speaker: It is still the same shining creature we had envisioned before, and it has only changed our focus and direction.
- 4:43Speaker: So now add this back in.
- 4:45Speaker: We are making a stew.
- 4:48Speaker: We are making pudding or a pie, or we are making something to enjoy.
- 4:54Speaker: Something to make us more healthy, to help us become more aware, to help us vitalize our beings.
- 5:02Speaker: And this stew can be in the air.
- 5:04Speaker: It need not be something we pass through our stomach.
- 5:08Speaker: There are many ways, as we well know, to feed, right?
- 5:13Speaker: Oxygen for one.
- 5:15Speaker: Open-mindedness, receptivity is our game.
- 5:23Speaker: Allowing oneself to become more receptive, listening to the little things, looking for opportunities for little points of energy.
- 5:37Speaker: Might be coming out of the blue, talking to oneself.
- 5:41Speaker: This is something, everything is something important in every moment of time.
- 5:52Speaker: We may not consider it so until all of a sudden it becomes important for some reason.
- 5:59Speaker: And yet, that doesn't change that the moment before or the moment that's coming after, Whatever this concept may be, isn't just as important.
- 6:13Speaker: One's sight, one's sense of hearing, one's ability to reason, one's ability to breathe, or circulate one's oxygenated blood.
- 6:25Speaker: Taking nothing for granted, or as little as possible, because regardless of what each or any of us want, there are trillions of things going on simultaneously in one's own body.
- 6:41Speaker: Talk to me.
- 6:42Speaker: We're not remembering them all.
- 6:45Speaker: In fact, they have been harnessed and put away on an autotonic basis, deep in our minds, in our brains.
- 6:55Speaker: We free up an opportunity to focus more intently, and we have this sense of reality each of us possess.
- 7:07Speaker: Sight, sound, taste, smell, feeling, environment.
- 7:14Speaker: Picturing oneself again as this bright luminous being, a sphere or oblong or human shape of energy radiating outward, for this is what we are.
- 7:31Speaker: What?
- 7:33Speaker: No.
- 7:34Speaker: This is what we are.
- 7:36Speaker: Be open minded and remember.
- 7:41Speaker: Are you not ninety eight point six degrees Fahrenheit?
- 7:46Speaker: Ninety-eight, almost a hundred degrees.
- 7:51Speaker: If the weather outside is a hundred degrees, everyone starts to wake up a little bit to the temperature.
- 7:59Speaker: Oh, it's hot outside, right?
- 8:00Speaker: Okay.
- 8:01Speaker: We're carrying this mass around in our lives, exuding heat generated by muscular activity in our torso, in our lungs and heart, to the atmosphere through our skin, the largest of our organs.
- 8:22Speaker: Twenty-four hours every day, it is here we are alive.
- 8:29Speaker: This is the way it is.
- 8:32Speaker: If you want to feel this luminous being in a state of awe, then allowing this to be, allowing oneself to expand, allowing oneself to feel beyond the reaches of one's skin, feeling the energy perpetually populating all space, everything outside on the surface, and inside of oneself, feeling this connection proximate to your being.
- 9:09Speaker: When you open your mouth, you breathe in air.
- 9:12Speaker: We are inundated and immersed in just this one means of energy propagation or transference or however one wants to consider it.
- 9:30Speaker: Science postulates one out of a hundred thousand opportunities of perception.
- 9:40Speaker: One out of a hundred thousand.
- 9:43Speaker: That means ninety-nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine things that are going on right now we're missing.
- 9:50Speaker: But we're catching one.
- 9:51Speaker: That's a beautiful thing.
- 9:53Speaker: Look at what we can do with the one thing that we've got.
- 9:56Speaker: This range of understanding, perceiving, conceiving the electromagnetic spectrum of energy.
- 10:03Speaker: This is what we are.
- 10:05Speaker: How many more are there?
- 10:08Speaker: Well, I guess science is saying there's 99,999 more, so we can improve.
- 10:17Speaker: This is the point.
- 10:18Speaker: What's your ESP, your extrasensory perception quotient?
- 10:24Speaker: Possible is a question mark.
- 10:29Speaker: Expanding is anticipating being.
- 10:33Speaker: We are glowing and shining.
- 10:39Speaker: Everywhere we are.
- 10:42Speaker: Just remembering this, allowing oneself to be whom you are, allowing one's eyes and ears to perk up and expand.
- 10:57Speaker: This is a worthy set of goals we are formulating and creating for ourselves.
- 11:06Speaker: Creating more virtuosity by implementing practical changes in ourselves.
- 11:14Speaker: Maybe I want to do this again, but I need to change the formula now.
- 11:19Speaker: Because today, now in this moment is different than three months ago.
- 11:24Speaker: Hello?
- 11:24Speaker: How can I improve myself?
- 11:29Speaker: What can I do?
- 11:32Speaker: What can I do?
- 11:34Speaker: What can I do?
- 11:35Speaker: What do I need to do to learn to do?
- 11:40Speaker: Be flexible and adaptable, open-minded, receptive, accepting, kind, considerate, generous, having compassion and empathy.
- 11:56Speaker: And it starts with you, oneself.
- 11:59Speaker: And when we don't do it, we need to remember to do it, and be okay with our faults.
- 12:09Speaker: We are not perfect.
- 12:11Speaker: Thinking the thought itself is already movement in this universe of change.
- 12:18Speaker: "Thinking the thought itself is already movement in oneself." It is a beginning.
- 12:33Speaker: So when you forget in your breathing exercises, your breath, and when you don't do the exercises that you've contemplated, remember to be kind and open-minded and smart.
- 12:56Speaker: For you are seeking self-improvement.
- 13:00Speaker: How can I better accomplish what I'm finding difficulty with?
- 13:09Speaker: It's a great question.
- 13:12Speaker: The music continues for another minute, please.
- 13:18Speaker: Consider your answers. namaste
