- 0:02Speaker 1: Life audio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Today, I'll talk about that John opts out of the
- 0:09Speaker 2: multiverse and goes full analog dad mode on a road trip. Meanwhile,
- 0:13Speaker 2: I can't slow down on skis and tell you about
- 0:16Speaker 2: the time a cow was milked in mid air. Plus
- 0:19Speaker 2: the conversation about healthy boundaries and how most people don't
- 0:22Speaker 2: come to God until they come to the end of themselves.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Today's episode is not sponsored by kit Kat. You don't
- 0:29Speaker 2: need a candy bar, you need four tiny candy bars.
- 0:32Speaker 2: But first a word from our actual sponsor.
- 0:41Speaker 1: What's up Podcast Universe?
- 0:43Speaker 3: It's John and Johnny talk about that episode three ninety six.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Johnny, is it a universe? I don't know. We're speaking
- 0:50Speaker 1: out into it like.
- 0:50Speaker 4: The expanded Do we have a multiverse? Do you think
- 0:53Speaker 4: where there's.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Other other versions? And then we have to meet them
- 0:57Speaker 3: and work together to save the podcast. You know, I
- 1:00Speaker 3: haven't seen any Spider Man movies since, like the second
- 1:04Speaker 3: one with Toby maguire.
- 1:06Speaker 1: What, Yeah, that's a good one.
- 1:08Speaker 4: That's probably the best one, honestly, doc oc and all that.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but I have no idea.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Hmmm, So like the whole Homecoming and the multiverse and
- 1:16Speaker 3: all I know what it is I'm not an idiot.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I'm just saying, well, that's not true. You need to
- 1:20Speaker 1: get into it. Man. I just don't have but they do.
- 1:22Speaker 4: They keep rebooting and they keep changing the timelines. And
- 1:25Speaker 4: now you could just say, well, it's a multiverse, so
- 1:27Speaker 4: we can just all the rules don't apply. You know
- 1:30Speaker 4: people do that with the Bible. Isn't that what denominations
- 1:33Speaker 4: are kind of?
- 1:34Speaker 1: They're like what's in our world? Hair length is what's important.
- 1:38Speaker 1: That's right.
- 1:39Speaker 4: If you wear a makeup, you're going to hell in
- 1:41Speaker 4: our multiverse. And you're like, I don't Yeah, and our
- 1:44Speaker 4: multiverse racism is good.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it's weird. Yeah, we got deep quick. Yeah, well
- 1:50Speaker 1: that's our show, guys. Yeah, there we go what we need.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know, Johnny, I tell you, I've been
- 1:56Speaker 3: traveling a lot, but it feels, i don't know, insignificant
- 2:01Speaker 3: compared to the way you've been traveling.
- 2:03Speaker 1: It's not a contest like a contest. If it was,
- 2:06Speaker 1: you would be a silver medalist because I am the
- 2:09Speaker 1: gold you.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Know, if you just hear that whole second place is
- 2:12Speaker 3: first loser or whatever. I love second place.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Did you see the Winter Olympian The quad God guy
- 2:16Speaker 4: By the way, if you go into the Olympics calling
- 2:18Speaker 4: yourself the quad God, you're kind.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Of asking for trouble. Yeah, he fell twice or whatever.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Is he the backflip guy? I think so? Yeah.
- 2:27Speaker 4: And uh, somebody was doing a video about that the
- 2:30Speaker 4: other day about how like these figure skaters butts are
- 2:33Speaker 4: like insane because they're just like they just do nothing
- 2:36Speaker 4: but squats all day.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and so it's just like they're crazy.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Yeah, and so but yeah, he fell and but it
- 2:42Speaker 4: was just like one of those things. I remember when
- 2:44Speaker 4: I was a kid, they had Dan and Dave. Remember Dan,
- 2:46Speaker 4: We're five years apart. Okay, So the Reebok did this
- 2:48Speaker 4: ad campaign called Dan and David. It was basically following
- 2:51Speaker 4: their Olympic journey of the ninety.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Two Olympics, Yeah, Summer Olympics, and they were the CA
- 2:57Speaker 3: athletes and it was Dan and Dave.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Brock spent millions on these guys and they were the
- 3:02Speaker 4: presumptive favorites to win gold twin medals for the US
- 3:06Speaker 4: in the ninety two Olympics. And so you followed Dan
- 3:12Speaker 4: and Dave's journey and it was not arrogant, but it
- 3:14Speaker 4: was just very presumptive that these guys are the guys
- 3:17Speaker 4: and then like they flamed out. It did not go well.
- 3:22Speaker 4: So there's so much hype around them.
- 3:24Speaker 1: The hype contributes to the flaming all.
- 3:26Speaker 4: I would love to see what they're what happened to
- 3:28Speaker 4: Dan and Dave after that? I want to say that
- 3:30Speaker 4: Dan got a bronze. Dave did not meddle, like he
- 3:36Speaker 4: had a nagging injury that like he did not even make.
- 3:38Speaker 1: It out of like qualifying.
- 3:39Speaker 4: I could be wrong. I need to look it up.
- 3:41Speaker 4: Somebody's gonna correct me next week in the notes.
- 3:42Speaker 1: And that's okay, okay.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Who's the downhill skier that broke her leg or tore
- 3:47Speaker 3: a cl and then tried to go anyway then broke
- 3:49Speaker 3: her leg?
- 3:49Speaker 1: Yeah? What is her name? So, Lindsay Lindsey Vaughn. That's crazy.
- 3:53Speaker 1: She said, I want to go and compete knowing I
- 3:55Speaker 1: have a torn acl.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Yeah, likech broker lag. You know what, man, that's the
- 4:00Speaker 4: spirit to me though, I think that's she's nails to me.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I love it. Yeah, I couldn't do it. So people
- 4:06Speaker 1: that were kind of like throwing well or something behind her,
- 4:11Speaker 1: I mean shouldn't.
- 4:12Speaker 4: No, no, no, I don't think it's that were people saying,
- 4:15Speaker 4: like she took somey's opportunity.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I don't know, that's what I'm asking.
- 4:18Speaker 4: I just think, man, good grief. Your in your forties
- 4:20Speaker 4: and you want to keep chasing that dream and then
- 4:22Speaker 4: you have an injury, but you're going to push through
- 4:24Speaker 4: and your country.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I don't know, man, I love it. I think good
- 4:27Speaker 1: for her. I couldn't do it. No, like I tried.
- 4:31Speaker 1: They said, don't don't come. I remember you skiing one time.
- 4:35Speaker 1: It was rough, and I'm gonna ta you something. I've
- 4:38Speaker 1: gone a couple of times.
- 4:39Speaker 4: But one time, Yeah, we did a ski trip and
- 4:40Speaker 4: I was a youth leader, and uh leaders usually lead.
- 4:44Speaker 4: I was more of a I was probably a liability
- 4:46Speaker 4: on that trip.
- 4:47Speaker 3: I will say I got to the bottom because I'm
- 4:49Speaker 3: a decent I can get down the hill.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I'm not let go on all the black diamonds. You're
- 4:53Speaker 1: doing your pie piece, what is it? You're doing your
- 4:55Speaker 1: pizza slice, pizza slice, yeah, and all that. It never
- 4:57Speaker 1: worked for me. Somehow I went faster. No, it didn't
- 5:00Speaker 1: work for you.
- 5:02Speaker 3: I got down and I turned around and watched and
- 5:03Speaker 3: it was like this distant dot just coming like zip,
- 5:08Speaker 3: and then I'd see you fall.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Yeah, and the skis would fall. I go twenty feet fall.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Then I'd have to gather all my things that had
- 5:15Speaker 4: flown from me up above you.
- 5:18Speaker 1: You'd have to climb back up the hill. Yeah.
- 5:20Speaker 4: And then also like avoid people who are coming down
- 5:22Speaker 4: behind me, like not trying to take them out right,
- 5:24Speaker 4: because they're just trying to like oh, and they would
- 5:25Speaker 4: slide around me like seven year old who'd never skied before.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Because that's the thing too. When you're a kid, you
- 5:30Speaker 4: don't know to be afraid. And so they're just like
- 5:33Speaker 4: this is easy. They're not even using their poles. They're
- 5:35Speaker 4: just like using it for more speed. They're hunching down, but.
- 5:38Speaker 3: They don't pick up a lot of speed because they
- 5:39Speaker 3: don't weigh much. Yeah, I'm not saying you wait a lot.
- 5:42Speaker 3: I'm just saying that I.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Was probably running. I was probably too eighty. I was
- 5:46Speaker 4: probably too sixty.
- 5:46Speaker 3: So we put a guy and never skied on two
- 5:50Speaker 3: pieces of I mean it was and buddy, you were
- 5:53Speaker 3: coming down.
- 5:53Speaker 4: But yeah, I remember I would try to fall. I
- 5:55Speaker 4: would fall on this side every time. And I remember
- 5:58Speaker 4: by the end of the day. The next day I
- 5:59Speaker 4: woke my hip was black that one.
- 6:03Speaker 1: It was it was brutal. Yeah, so we ended up.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I found my way to the tubes. That's what I did. Yeah,
- 6:08Speaker 1: you did like inner tubing that we could go do.
- 6:11Speaker 1: I'll do that. You can't really, you can't. You can
- 6:14Speaker 1: fall out, but it's not I think, same trip.
- 6:16Speaker 3: My wife came down one time too, and then she
- 6:18Speaker 3: went and did something else for us today. Because the
- 6:20Speaker 3: thing is, it hurts when you're an adult, Like I
- 6:23Speaker 3: think I first skeid as a teen, and then I
- 6:26Speaker 3: wasn't good at skiing, but I took kids and I
- 6:28Speaker 3: had to learn.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember I took it the first youth group.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Did you go to that one? That's the one we
- 6:32Speaker 1: drove in a snowstorm.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Maybe and you picked me up in Knoxville one time.
- 6:39Speaker 3: We were on the old school bus. Yeah, and like
- 6:41Speaker 3: got there real late and and so that was like
- 6:43Speaker 3: I didn't skie.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Where Dane pretended you had left him at the thing?
- 6:48Speaker 1: No, I don't think so did you really leave him
- 6:50Speaker 1: one time or no? Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, no, that
- 6:52Speaker 1: was a fine art.
- 6:53Speaker 4: One of the youth group kids they would they you know,
- 6:55Speaker 4: you stop at the gas station, all the kids going
- 6:57Speaker 4: and get sodas, and you're like.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Don't fill up on sodas.
- 6:59Speaker 4: We're gonna just have to be again, please, I'll go
- 7:02Speaker 4: in there and there forever.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:03Speaker 4: And then we take off and they get like an
- 7:05Speaker 4: hour down the road and one of the kids text, John,
- 7:08Speaker 4: you left me at the gas station.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Panic. It was the best. He hid down behind the seat.
- 7:17Speaker 1: You're like, looking back there. That guy's on the staff here. Now,
- 7:20Speaker 1: he's that crazy. He has two little kids of his own,
- 7:23Speaker 1: and he wrote and if that happened, like one of
- 7:26Speaker 1: my kids ever did that? Oh, Dane would love it. Yeah,
- 7:28Speaker 1: so funny.
- 7:29Speaker 3: So interestingly enough, I saw Dane's wife Emily, you know,
- 7:33Speaker 3: and Dana's two amazing little boys.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:36Speaker 3: And so he's on tour with Disciple. Yeah, and they
- 7:41Speaker 3: did they bridgeton, they did bridge Stone, so I think
- 7:44Speaker 3: winter Jam.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I think.
- 7:46Speaker 3: So Disciple has this other act as well called Honor
- 7:50Speaker 3: and Glory that Dane sings in the worship project like
- 7:53Speaker 3: a metal band doing worship.
- 7:55Speaker 1: So he's up there, he's literally a bridge Stone. Did
- 7:58Speaker 1: you go? No, I missed it. I've been in town.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I would have been there, but.
- 8:01Speaker 3: I watched the videos of Dane leading worship at Bridgestone
- 8:05Speaker 3: and Emily had kept going back because their boys are
- 8:09Speaker 3: right down.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Oh I know.
- 8:10Speaker 4: And it panned over to Wyatt and I was just,
- 8:13Speaker 4: I know, me so excited for the boy looking at
- 8:16Speaker 4: his dad sing in front of all those thousands of people.
- 8:19Speaker 4: It was the most beautiful thing.
- 8:21Speaker 1: It was the most amazing thing.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Of course, I'm having all these layers of like, Okay,
- 8:24Speaker 3: I remember when Dane was twelve, and now you know,
- 8:27Speaker 3: it's just like.
- 8:28Speaker 1: He was that little boy. It was great, man. Yeah, yeah,
- 8:34Speaker 1: someday when I do Bridgestone, you can be down, you know,
- 8:37Speaker 1: like on the floor. I'll be there when you make
- 8:39Speaker 1: the Olympics. Well yeah, yeah, pretty good skiers. I think
- 8:43Speaker 1: you got a shot.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Just do your It'd be funny if they interviewed Lindsay
- 8:46Speaker 4: Vaughn and they were like what happened, and she was like,
- 8:49Speaker 4: I didn't make the pizza slice.
- 8:51Speaker 1: They I forgot my training.
- 8:54Speaker 4: You just get in a mode and you forget your training.
- 8:58Speaker 1: To be amazing. Give that's all it was.
- 9:00Speaker 3: They did.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Heye that they're going over their scheme for the guys.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Don't forget pizzas, stue you do.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Yeah, you do, see like basketball coaches they're still telling
- 9:11Speaker 3: them to put their hands up on defense and stuff.
- 9:12Speaker 1: In college game.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Yeah, fundamentally Tennessee basketball, Rick Barnes the head coach, but
- 9:17Speaker 3: the other coaches coach different things.
- 9:18Speaker 1: During the game.
- 9:19Speaker 3: There's like a defensive coordinator type guy, and the whole
- 9:21Speaker 3: time when they get into a certain set, you'll see
- 9:24Speaker 3: him just waving.
- 9:24Speaker 1: His hands up real high, trying to remind the guys.
- 9:26Speaker 3: You're like, these are basically professional players because they're getting
- 9:30Speaker 3: an il money now and they still have to be reminded,
- 9:33Speaker 3: you know, of those things, which is interesting to me
- 9:35Speaker 3: and Johnny.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I think there's a lesson there isn't there. Sometimes we
- 9:38Speaker 1: forget the fundamentals. Something you know, you just need to
- 9:41Speaker 1: raise your hands suddenly, something you need to get to
- 9:43Speaker 1: keep your hand in the devil's face. Yeah.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Remember how Moses when the battle Josh was fighting, he
- 9:48Speaker 3: had to keep his hands up, and then Aaron and
- 9:50Speaker 3: her remember that pastor that couldn't remember the name the
- 9:53Speaker 3: other day at that time when we were in college,
- 9:55Speaker 3: it was like he was going off. It was like
- 9:57Speaker 3: Moses and Josha was fighting a battle, and then Aaron
- 10:00Speaker 3: and the other brother came around the other side.
- 10:04Speaker 1: That's pretty good. I can you forget her? You know.
- 10:06Speaker 4: I remember my favorite Far Side as a kid. I
- 10:08Speaker 4: still have the Far Side cartoons, and one of them
- 10:11Speaker 4: was I don't know why. It made me laugh so hard.
- 10:12Speaker 4: It's so absurd because it wasn't like clever like a
- 10:14Speaker 4: lot of them were. A lot of them were really like,
- 10:16Speaker 4: you know, they had a really funny wordplay. But this
- 10:19Speaker 4: one was just a basketball coach on the sideline and
- 10:21Speaker 4: he's talking to his players and he says to one
- 10:24Speaker 4: of the players, he goes, just keep that hand in
- 10:26Speaker 4: his face. And the guy's hand is gigantic. He's got
- 10:30Speaker 4: this huge hand. Just keep that his face.
- 10:36Speaker 1: It was the one guy that it was Gary Larson.
- 10:39Speaker 1: That's him. That's the Far Side.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:40Speaker 1: And he did all of them. Yeah, and then he
- 10:43Speaker 1: just retired.
- 10:43Speaker 4: He was like, I'm done, and I think he would
- 10:45Speaker 4: come back every now and again do a calendar or something,
- 10:47Speaker 4: but he just kind of like went off into the sunset.
- 10:49Speaker 4: What a beautiful life. What's better than that?
- 10:51Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 10:52Speaker 3: That, like Charles Schultz, Gary Larson, the idea that somebody
- 10:56Speaker 3: creates something so specific to them and just ride that train,
- 11:01Speaker 3: you know. Yeah, it has its own nobody ever did
- 11:04Speaker 3: anything as good as that at that.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's culturally impactful like that.
- 11:06Speaker 4: I give a oneesell a one cell cartoon that like
- 11:10Speaker 4: contains all the information for the joke that you need
- 11:12Speaker 4: in it, and you're able to put all these little
- 11:14Speaker 4: sight gags in it. Like he really kind of been
- 11:17Speaker 4: in that.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I wonder if he was a funny guy to hang
- 11:19Speaker 1: out with, Yeah, that it would be interesting to know.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Like maybe if he was like a five and was
- 11:23Speaker 3: more just in his head and didn't talk about it
- 11:25Speaker 3: out loud, but then when he got on paper, you know, really.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe he was like a really overcoach or he
- 11:30Speaker 1: was over in local and hard to be around. We
- 11:32Speaker 1: need to get Gary on the show. Hey, Gary, if
- 11:34Speaker 1: you're out there listening, we know you are.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Gary's a big fan of the show. John, How would
- 11:39Speaker 4: somebody become a fan of the show. How would may

- 11:58Speaker 4: John was talking about it. But I'm on tour. This
- 12:00Speaker 4: is like my first official bus tour as a headliner.
- 12:04Speaker 4: So I've been on other people's buses. This is my
- 12:06Speaker 4: bus now listen. It's not my bus. It's a chartered bus.
- 12:08Speaker 4: But let me just say it's pretty cool. And we're
- 12:10Speaker 4: out there and we're doing shows all across the Fruited
- 12:12Speaker 4: Plain forty eight cities in addition to all my other
- 12:15Speaker 4: shows that I do. But these like forty eight that
- 12:17Speaker 4: we're doing that are like me and a couple other
- 12:19Speaker 4: comics that I'm taking with me, some of my best friends,
- 12:21Speaker 4: Adam Bush, who is one of our podcast producers, who's
- 12:24Speaker 4: here in the building with us today right now. We
- 12:27Speaker 4: just added Adam to some of those shows to April,
- 12:30Speaker 4: so you get to see some of Adam's comedy.
- 12:33Speaker 1: And I'm not a fan, but I think but some
- 12:36Speaker 1: people seem to. He's got to. Yeah, we're about to
- 12:40Speaker 1: cut his teeth somewhere.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Why I'm not going to do is sand off the
- 12:44Speaker 4: edges and see what we got. Yeah it's not great, Yeah,
- 12:49Speaker 4: but uh no, Adam's become a good friend and now
- 12:52Speaker 4: we now we get to go out on Twitter.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Gether.
- 12:54Speaker 1: That's the thing.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Bus life will tell you a lot about somebody.
- 12:57Speaker 1: You get to know more.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Yeah, then you because you're in those close hallways.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Yeah, well other people are. You have your own There's
- 13:04Speaker 1: a lot of excuse me, excuse me as you try
- 13:06Speaker 1: to get back to your Yeah, you they do, but
- 13:08Speaker 1: you have your own bedroom.
- 13:08Speaker 3: That's true. I do have a little it's called I
- 13:11Speaker 3: love I love how you were trying to downplay the bedroom.
- 13:13Speaker 3: You're like, well, yes, I do, but but you have
- 13:15Speaker 3: to stand on the bed to get around. It's like,
- 13:17Speaker 3: you know what, I don't want to hear it.
- 13:19Speaker 4: It is it's it is some of those back bedrooms
- 13:21Speaker 4: in a bus that are the full sized bed or whatever.
- 13:24Speaker 4: It's like there's room to walk around, and there's a
- 13:26Speaker 4: tester and there's a thing. This is like you're either
- 13:28Speaker 4: out of the room or you're in the bed. But
- 13:30Speaker 4: buds are buds.
- 13:32Speaker 3: I was gonna say buses and beds at the same time.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Buses are usually a pretty standard wit is it The
- 13:38Speaker 3: bed is bigger.
- 13:39Speaker 4: It's a it's a standard sized bed, so I guess
- 13:42Speaker 4: it would be like a double bed. It's not a queen,
- 13:44Speaker 4: I don't think. And then there's like a little table
- 13:46Speaker 4: and chairs, but you literally there's not room.
- 13:48Speaker 1: To stand much. And so when I go out on
- 13:50Speaker 1: a weekend and I get the bedroom right and then.
- 13:53Speaker 4: No, we're bunking together, buny mean me and you were
- 13:56Speaker 4: Your wife's back there with no no, no, but no
- 13:58Speaker 4: not when you go on. She's not going And I
- 14:00Speaker 4: told her, I said, me and John, Oh, I'm the
- 14:02Speaker 4: big spoon.
- 14:03Speaker 3: No.
- 14:04Speaker 4: While we might even get a different bus if if
- 14:06Speaker 4: if there's a run that Curri doesn't go on, and
- 14:07Speaker 4: we might just do bunks.
- 14:08Speaker 1: And I'll do a bunk or something. You can get
- 14:10Speaker 1: a different bus. You can just do that. Yeah, every
- 14:11Speaker 1: run will be probably a different bus. This.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Yeah, because it's like a big lot of busesn't they Wow,
- 14:16Speaker 4: whatever's available.
- 14:17Speaker 1: This was a good one. They said.
- 14:18Speaker 4: It was a twenty three, so we had a good
- 14:20Speaker 4: number of bus. It was very It had all the
- 14:22Speaker 4: bells and whistles and touch pads and heated floor.
- 14:26Speaker 1: So it's pretty nice. Will you let me drive? Yes,
- 14:28Speaker 1: in fact that's a requirement. You do have a CDL.
- 14:31Speaker 4: You never driven like a big coach like that though
- 14:33Speaker 4: like a a privo.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I mean again, the charter bus we had was a
- 14:40Speaker 1: Oh that's right, it was. It was older. It was
- 14:41Speaker 1: a little old. Well what was that supposed to mean?
- 14:43Speaker 1: It means whatever this is?
- 14:46Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah it was, No, it was John. Let's take
- 14:49Speaker 4: a minute. If we would, we wouldn't say thanks to
- 14:52Speaker 4: our find sponsors. And we don't know what ads are
- 14:55Speaker 4: about to pop up, and but we do appreciate people
- 14:59Speaker 4: supporting the show, helping us keep the old lights on
- 15:01Speaker 4: here to talk about that.
- 15:02Speaker 1: So let's take a minute to hear from a few
- 15:03Speaker 1: of them. They we're back.
- 15:19Speaker 3: I do want to always encourage listeners. Yeah, write that
- 15:22Speaker 3: email to us. We love hearing from you.
- 15:24Speaker 1: We do. I think people.
- 15:26Speaker 4: You know what I think I'm going to do is
- 15:27Speaker 4: start accepting joke submissions, because now some of the emails
- 15:30Speaker 4: have started saying, here's a good joke. Here's a good
- 15:33Speaker 4: old joke for joke about that. That's a great idea.
- 15:36Speaker 4: So if you've got a good old because I always
- 15:38Speaker 4: have to scour the internet for those old jokes, because
- 15:40Speaker 4: you got to find one that's clean. I gotta find
- 15:42Speaker 4: one that's not too corny, right, it's a really tough
- 15:45Speaker 4: cliff to climb now because we're running I mean, we've
- 15:47Speaker 4: done that segment for a couple of years now. And
- 15:49Speaker 4: so if you have an old joke that you love
- 15:51Speaker 4: that you tell your f it's like your family joke,
- 15:56Speaker 4: not like dad jokes.
- 15:57Speaker 1: But if you have an old story.
- 15:58Speaker 4: Joke, send me your and i'll maybe we'll read it
- 16:01Speaker 4: on the If you read it on the air, I'll
- 16:06Speaker 4: acknowledge you.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Let me say, by the way, our longtime listener call
- 16:13Speaker 1: it Groves.
- 16:14Speaker 3: When we did the episode about the Think She's South Carolina, yeah,
- 16:17Speaker 3: micro wrestling episode, we were talking about different things.
- 16:19Speaker 1: You see.
- 16:20Speaker 3: She wrote, Dafney, South Carolina is the home of Peachoid,
- 16:23Speaker 3: located I eighty five, but halfway between Greenville, South Carolina
- 16:26Speaker 3: and Charlotte, North Carolina. Before they gave it some color
- 16:28Speaker 3: texture and added the leaf, and she sent a picture
- 16:30Speaker 3: it's a big peach.
- 16:31Speaker 1: It looked like a big butt. It does. And they
- 16:33Speaker 1: have one of those in Alabama too. Is it Alabam
- 16:35Speaker 1: or Georgia. I think it's all.
- 16:37Speaker 4: About Georgia peaches, so maybe, but Alabama has peaches as well.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I've seen the peachoid. I've seen what she's talking. Yeah,
- 16:43Speaker 1: I've seen one looks just like this. It is a
- 16:45Speaker 1: but it's a butt stetch. Yeah, that's what looks like.
- 16:46Speaker 1: So thank you call it uh for sending that, because hey,
- 16:49Speaker 1: let's keep the show PG call it. Yeah, agreed. I
- 16:52Speaker 1: mean we can't saying words late. Maybe maybe that is
- 16:55Speaker 1: a bad parent if you're listening and that was not
- 16:57Speaker 1: the word you wonder your kids. I'm sorry. The bottom
- 17:00Speaker 1: already talked about figure skaters today. I apologize. Maybe it's
- 17:03Speaker 1: just going to my secondary. Let's go to your second.
- 17:06Speaker 1: We call what they talked about that Adam. Wow, that
- 17:20Speaker 1: was Adam.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Will fix that in post. I'm going Clive Staples today
- 17:27Speaker 3: because Lewis, I don't see any reason not to.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Do.
- 17:31Speaker 4: You have a tear away calendar. We're just CEUs Lewis.
- 17:34Speaker 3: I get a daily CS. Lewis like devotional thing, so
- 17:36Speaker 3: just why I get somebody see us Lewis quotes. But
- 17:38Speaker 3: this is kind of long, but oh it's good, Okay.
- 17:42Speaker 3: There are three kinds of people in the world. The
- 17:44Speaker 3: first class is those first The first class is of
- 17:49Speaker 3: those who live simply for their own sake and pleasure,
- 17:51Speaker 3: regarding man and nature as so much raw material to
- 17:54Speaker 3: be cut up whatever shape may serve them. And the
- 17:57Speaker 3: second class are those who acknowledge and some other claim
- 18:00Speaker 3: upon them the will of God, the categorical imperative, or
- 18:04Speaker 3: the good of society, and honestly try to pursue their
- 18:06Speaker 3: own interests no further than this claim will allow. They
- 18:09Speaker 3: try to surrender the higher claim as much as it demands,
- 18:13Speaker 3: like men paying at tax, but hope, like any other taxpayer,
- 18:17Speaker 3: that what is left over will be enough for them
- 18:18Speaker 3: to live on. Their life is divided, like a soldier's
- 18:21Speaker 3: or a schoolboy's life, into time on parade and off parade,
- 18:24Speaker 3: in school and out of school. But the third class
- 18:27Speaker 3: is those who can say, like Saint Paul, that for
- 18:30Speaker 3: them to live as Christ, these people have got rid
- 18:33Speaker 3: of the tiresome business of adjusting the rival claims of
- 18:36Speaker 3: self and God by the simple expedient of rejecting the
- 18:39Speaker 3: claims of self altogether. The old egoist's will has been
- 18:44Speaker 3: turned around, reconditioned, and made into a new thing. The
- 18:47Speaker 3: will of Christ no longer limits theirs. It is theirs
- 18:51Speaker 3: all their time, and belonging to Him belongs also to them,
- 18:54Speaker 3: for they are His. I'm telling you, and there's so
- 18:58Speaker 3: much there they don't really.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Tell me about it.
- 19:03Speaker 4: That guy he could spin a yarn, He could weave
- 19:07Speaker 4: a sentence.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Yeah, he really could. I just think this the idea
- 19:13Speaker 3: of and I just thought the other day, and I
- 19:15Speaker 3: think as a parent, I think about this a lot.
- 19:18Speaker 3: It is absurd to the current world that true freedom
- 19:22Speaker 3: lies in submission, but real freedom lies in submission. And
- 19:26Speaker 3: like I think about my dog all the time, who
- 19:29Speaker 3: is a pandemic dog and has really only left the
- 19:32Speaker 3: house to go to like pandemic. I couldn't believe it.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Het Zero Brutus my first dog. He used to ride
- 19:42Speaker 3: up to the lake house to see Lar's parents with us.
- 19:44Speaker 3: He would just go with his place as he was fine.
- 19:45Speaker 3: You could let him out and he wouldn't run off much.
- 19:48Speaker 3: If aces the light of day, a crack in a somewhere,
- 19:52Speaker 3: he's off like you never get him again. You got
- 19:54Speaker 3: to chase him for miles. And so he stays in
- 19:56Speaker 3: the backyard when we let him out. He's an take
- 19:59Speaker 3: the backyard. Lives in the house, but to go outside.
- 20:01Speaker 3: He loves to go out there and play and chase rabbits,
- 20:03Speaker 3: whatever you can do. But the fence is what's confining him,
- 20:07Speaker 3: but also is what gives him the freedom to enjoy life.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Otherwise everything outside the fence is dangerous. This idea of
- 20:16Speaker 3: saying that my life is not mine, that I've now
- 20:19Speaker 3: given over that ego, I think sounds so really blasphemous
- 20:23Speaker 3: to modern culture and sort of the moralism even that
- 20:28Speaker 3: we have. And that is to be true to yourself.
- 20:31Speaker 3: And I was thinking about how you really don't come
- 20:36Speaker 3: to know what life is until you come to the
- 20:38Speaker 3: end of yourself. If you look back in your life,
- 20:41Speaker 3: almost every major thing you were telling your story at
- 20:43Speaker 3: breakfast this morning with Adam, almost every major thing that
- 20:46Speaker 3: happened to you or to me or anyone came in
- 20:49Speaker 3: a moment where I was totally burnt out of.
- 20:51Speaker 1: This and I have to make a change, right, But
- 20:54Speaker 1: you have to come to the end of yourself. And
- 20:56Speaker 1: so I think C. S.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Lewis talking about the idea that I don't lose anything
- 21:02Speaker 3: when my life is all christ I gain. I'm not
- 21:05Speaker 3: just trying to have like my will. I love that
- 21:07Speaker 3: idea of we and I do I do this. I
- 21:10Speaker 3: think of it as like, oh, I'm in school right now,
- 21:12Speaker 3: it's time to be the Christian. I'm at church right now.
- 21:14Speaker 3: It's trying to be the Christian or this is what requires.
- 21:17Speaker 3: But then I hope I have enough to live my
- 21:19Speaker 3: real life left over, you know, and this idea of no,
- 21:23Speaker 3: it's all gone, it's all gone, and that's good because
- 21:27Speaker 3: now I've gained God's life and God's time. I'm not
- 21:30Speaker 3: trying to get his time and my time. It all
- 21:32Speaker 3: belongs to me now, and it all belongs to him
- 21:36Speaker 3: because I belong to him. I just think it's it's
- 21:38Speaker 3: such a I don't know, to get away from self
- 21:42Speaker 3: and so that yourself can be who it's supposed to be.
- 21:45Speaker 1: You know. Yeah, I like the idea too.
- 21:46Speaker 4: We're talking about your dog is like the fence is
- 21:48Speaker 4: like we think of it as limiting, but it also
- 21:51Speaker 4: is like the reason he has freedom, right because otherwise
- 21:53Speaker 4: he's just stuck in the house because you can't even
- 21:55Speaker 4: let him out of the door, right because there's too
- 21:57Speaker 4: much there's predators out there. Yeah, so the fence think
- 22:00Speaker 4: of his limiting, but it really is the freedom that
- 22:02Speaker 4: the boundary creates the freedom.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Yep.
- 22:05Speaker 3: And I want to be clear, well, and how did
- 22:10Speaker 3: I think C. S. Lewis maybe one ear him or Dallas.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Willard talked about that until until you've given your life up,
- 22:19Speaker 3: you actually don't have a true self. It's not it
- 22:21Speaker 3: hasn't become He talked about salt. I think, and how
- 22:25Speaker 3: like you assume salt is this strong flavor, right, who's
- 22:30Speaker 3: my God and his ways being like the salt? And
- 22:33Speaker 3: you go, if you just thought about it, this is
- 22:35Speaker 3: so strong, this is going to mess up the flavor
- 22:37Speaker 3: of everything else. But actually it brings out the flavor
- 22:39Speaker 3: of everything else. And so adding the ways of God
- 22:42Speaker 3: to your life actually brings out who you're supposed to be.
- 22:46Speaker 3: It doesn't it doesn't overwhelm it and take it away.
- 22:49Speaker 3: It makes it better. And I want to be clear
- 22:53Speaker 3: to this is a very spiritual thing. I'm not I'm
- 22:56Speaker 3: not speaking right now. I do think there are things
- 22:58Speaker 3: in society that sometime someone's trying to put forced boundaries
- 23:03Speaker 3: around people or people groups and then tell them just
- 23:05Speaker 3: do what I say within this boundary and you'll have freedom.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:08Speaker 3: That's not what I'm talking about right now, But I
- 23:11Speaker 3: think in the ways of Christ to say, hey.
- 23:13Speaker 1: You're getting so political. If you're in North Korea listening, guys,
- 23:18Speaker 1: we're not saying just do what they say.
- 23:20Speaker 3: You mean the People's Republic of North Korea. I think
- 23:22Speaker 3: you mean the people's Democratic Republic of North Korea.
- 23:24Speaker 4: I think you mean the super duper democratic People's We
- 23:30Speaker 4: don't mean any of that, John. Let's do my segments.
- 23:33Speaker 4: Let's start with Johnny's old jokes. We call it joke
- 23:35Speaker 4: about that.
- 23:41Speaker 1: John.
- 23:41Speaker 4: As I get older, I remember all the people I
- 23:44Speaker 4: lost along the way. Maybe a career is a tour guide?
- 23:47Speaker 4: Wasn't the right choice? Brought a cough. Of course, John's
- 23:53Speaker 4: probably just sick, so it's not even about the joke. John,
- 23:56Speaker 4: the mayor from a small town. Here's a guy to
- 23:59Speaker 4: paint the road to a city thirty miles away. We'll
- 24:01Speaker 4: divide the road to three segments of ten miles each.
- 24:03Speaker 4: You can come get your paycheck after you finished each segment,
- 24:06Speaker 4: says the mayor. The guy accepts the offer, starts that
- 24:08Speaker 4: same day. He finishes the first segment after three days.
- 24:11Speaker 4: When he goes to the town hall to get his
- 24:12Speaker 4: first paycheck, the mayor says, Wow, that was fast. Try
- 24:14Speaker 4: to keep his pace as he hands in the money.
- 24:16Speaker 4: Guy continues with the next segment. This time he spends
- 24:18Speaker 4: three weeks paying the second segment goes town hall again.
- 24:21Speaker 4: Mayor says, man, you were really fast with the first section.
- 24:23Speaker 4: You really slowed down. Try to paint the last section faster.
- 24:27Speaker 4: While he hands him the second paycheck. Guy proceeds with
- 24:29Speaker 4: the last section, takes three whole months till he's done.
- 24:32Speaker 4: When he tells the mayor, he angrily says, man, you
- 24:35Speaker 4: were really fast with the first section, then you took
- 24:38Speaker 4: three weeks with the second section, and now three months.
- 24:41Speaker 4: I hope you have an explanation.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Well, says the guy. The paint bucket was further away each.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Time because he was going back to the what he
- 24:51Speaker 4: was doing at again again, Guys, send your jokes to Hello.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Please give us some jokes. I'm need at a separate
- 24:57Speaker 4: email just for jokes. Joke it talk about that we'll
- 25:01Speaker 4: get at him to set that up. Yeah, that's coming
- 25:04Speaker 4: to it internet near you. This is an old Reagan
- 25:07Speaker 4: and Gorbachev joke. But I guess it could be a
- 25:09Speaker 4: putin if we wanted to. But Reagan and Gorbachev Gorchov
- 25:12Speaker 4: the leader of Russia, So I don't know when this
- 25:13Speaker 4: joke was came around. But Reagan and Gorbachev are traveling
- 25:16Speaker 4: together in a limousine, they both begin to discuss the
- 25:19Speaker 4: loyalty of their men. Gorbachev says that his guard is
- 25:24Speaker 4: so loyal. If he asked him to jump off the bridge,
- 25:26Speaker 4: he would jump. Reagan claims that his guard can do
- 25:28Speaker 4: the same, and to prove this, he orders his guard
- 25:30Speaker 4: to jump. However, Reagan's guard refuses and says he has
- 25:34Speaker 4: a wife and three kids at home, so he can't
- 25:37Speaker 4: do this. Then Gorbachev orders his guard to do the same,
- 25:39Speaker 4: and his guard gets ready to exit limo and jump
- 25:41Speaker 4: off the bridge. Reagan is confused and ask him, well,
- 25:43Speaker 4: why are you so willing to jump? Gorbachev's guard replies,
- 25:46Speaker 4: I've got a wife and three kids at home. You see, friends,
- 25:53Speaker 4: he didn't like his wife or we are not endorsing.
- 25:56Speaker 4: We're very pro family. Here at talk about that. John's
- 26:00Speaker 4: not trying to jump off.
- 26:02Speaker 1: I love my wife. Yeah, I talked him out of it, okay, John.
- 26:06Speaker 4: A game designer is trying to make a version of
- 26:08Speaker 4: This is a true story. There's a game designer trying
- 26:10Speaker 4: to make a version of a train simulator, but with carriages.
- 26:13Speaker 4: He keeps having one issue though, where the carriage always
- 26:17Speaker 4: ends up being much smaller than what he intended. It's
- 26:19Speaker 4: a little buggy.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I like a good wordplay. That's good.
- 26:25Speaker 4: Let's move forward, John, Let's do this week in history
- 26:27Speaker 4: to close out the show, we call it talk about then, John.
- 26:35Speaker 4: This Week nineteen fifty nine, the low budget horror film
- 26:40Speaker 4: House on Haunted Hill, starring Vincent Price.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Now, listen, we're five years apart. You didn't grow up
- 26:46Speaker 1: around scary movies, did you? Did you know? Vincent Price
- 26:48Speaker 1: is right now? Really, if I showed you a picture,
- 26:52Speaker 1: I just yeah, I don't do horror movies.
- 26:55Speaker 4: I like this story though, because it was produced and
- 26:57Speaker 4: directed by William Castle, who was known for his use
- 26:59Speaker 4: of chemicks to promote horror films. Used to go to
- 27:02Speaker 4: the movie house and they would do these things called
- 27:04Speaker 4: fort D films or three D films. Forty was like
- 27:06Speaker 4: when they would like introduce some gimmick into the room
- 27:10Speaker 4: to make you extra scared. They would vibrate the seeds,
- 27:12Speaker 4: they would have somebody behind you, they would spray water,
- 27:14Speaker 4: they would do you know, at the key moment. So
- 27:17Speaker 4: during the Uh in the Future film, he used an
- 27:21Speaker 4: effect called he called Immergo, which is a plastic skeleton
- 27:25Speaker 4: that would fly over the theater audience during a corresponding
- 27:28Speaker 4: scene in the movie. So there's a skeleton that's haunting
- 27:31Speaker 4: the castle, and he had a skeleton in real life
- 27:34Speaker 4: fly into the movie house on wires and it would
- 27:37Speaker 4: terrify the people. House on Haunted Hill was made on
- 27:40Speaker 4: a budget of about two hundred thousand dollars and earned
- 27:43Speaker 4: over two and a half million at the box office.
- 27:45Speaker 4: This is nineteen fifty nine dollars. So that's over one
- 27:47Speaker 4: billion dollars today. No, it's not, but it's a pretty
- 27:51Speaker 4: good scale. I don't know, but yeah, I don't know
- 27:54Speaker 4: that we should do it at our homes. When you
- 27:55Speaker 4: watch a scary movie or watch a yeah, goose it
- 27:59Speaker 4: a little bit to it. Yeah, people have really gotten
- 28:02Speaker 4: into Halloween in my neighborhood. I't know how it is
- 28:04Speaker 4: in your neighborhood. These gigantic, twenty foot tall skeletons. What
- 28:08Speaker 4: do you do with those in the off season.
- 28:10Speaker 3: There's one I drove by the other day. It's still
- 28:12Speaker 3: up decorated. No, there's nothing on it. It's just a
- 28:15Speaker 3: naked skeleton just standing here.
- 28:17Speaker 1: February.
- 28:18Speaker 4: Because people leak they're Christmas trees up. It seems like
- 28:19Speaker 4: they should do it with those skeletons. You know, it's like,
- 28:21Speaker 4: that's this is our bor day skeleton.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Now we love Christmas tree up?
- 28:26Speaker 2: You have it?
- 28:27Speaker 1: Still have a Valentine's Day Christmas tree right now? That
- 28:29Speaker 1: we know you don't.
- 28:30Speaker 4: I was at your house.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Was it up?
- 28:31Speaker 4: Then?
- 28:32Speaker 1: Yes? I didn't see it. Wait when were you my mouse?
- 28:35Speaker 1: Oh that was before, but it was around Christmas time?
- 28:37Speaker 1: Never mind? Should that was the Christmas tree?
- 28:40Speaker 3: Okay, we've been talking about forever, but we finally did it.
- 28:45Speaker 1: We left the tree up. Now. I think she'll do
- 28:47Speaker 1: a spring tree next. So yeah, I think it's great.
- 28:51Speaker 1: We're just in the paganism. What do you I'm not.
- 28:54Speaker 3: No, it's like bunnies and chicks again, you know, oh
- 29:00Speaker 3: the mascots for paganism.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I think it's fine. John. You worship whatever
- 29:06Speaker 1: you want to worship. That's for me and my house.
- 29:10Speaker 4: We cut down trees in my house. Is it a
- 29:13Speaker 4: real not a real tree? It's a fake tree that
- 29:15Speaker 4: you couldn't have a real treat. Living really hard to last, needle.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Falling off in their March twenty every day.

- 30:01Speaker 4: That's why we have such affluence and purpose.
- 30:04Speaker 3: And I'm shocked that's the first government because we took
- 30:07Speaker 3: a lot of loans for the Revolutionary war.
- 30:09Speaker 4: But I don't know who this says. The US government
- 30:11Speaker 4: took out its throat. I wonder who from and how
- 30:13Speaker 4: it all.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Were right, because right then we didn't it didn't say
- 30:15Speaker 1: it was from another country.
- 30:16Speaker 4: So seventeen ninety, I don't know what's going on. But yeah,
- 30:20Speaker 4: the government that was a slippery slope We're gonna go
- 30:23Speaker 4: slippery slope, argument John. Finally, this week in nineteen thirty,
- 30:30Speaker 4: the first cow to fly in an airplane? Yeah, did
- 30:35Speaker 4: he fly the airplane or flight in? He flew in Okay.
- 30:38Speaker 4: The first Cottle flying airplane was much much.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Like much lighter, Ye much, everyone knows that story.
- 30:42Speaker 4: A cow named Elm pharm Alie became the first Cottle
- 30:46Speaker 4: flying an airplane. The seventy two mile trip from Bismarck, Missouri,
- 30:49Speaker 4: to Saint Louis was a part of the International Air
- 30:52Speaker 4: Exposition in Saint Louis. Elm farm Ali was milked mid flight,
- 30:57Speaker 4: and her milk always sounds like a of a male name,
- 31:01Speaker 4: but evidently Allie was short for I don't know, al Amina.
- 31:05Speaker 4: I don't know OLLI was Ollie could have been Olivia.
- 31:08Speaker 4: Oli was milk midflight, and her milk was placed in
- 31:11Speaker 4: paper cartons and parachuted to spectators below. Oh so they're
- 31:15Speaker 4: getting weird milk coming out and warm. Oh it's not
- 31:20Speaker 4: even chilled. This is nineteen thirty. But we had pasturization then, didn't.

- 31:31Speaker 4: look it up.
- 31:31Speaker 1: It's fine.
- 31:32Speaker 3: After the flight Elm farm Hall, we had pasturesation. That's
- 31:35Speaker 3: like way back in the seventeen hundreds.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Ye Louis pasture or.
- 31:40Speaker 4: After the flight Elm farm Ollie became known as Sky Queen.
- 31:45Speaker 3: That's shouldn't there be cow in the name of your
- 31:48Speaker 3: nickname of some sort? Like we would just think it
- 31:51Speaker 3: could be anybody, Hey, there's sky Queen, any guy heifer?
- 31:55Speaker 4: Yeah, should have been something. Yeah that had your bovine Natene.
- 32:01Speaker 1: I was going with bovine, but fline bovine.
- 32:06Speaker 4: And should have well, I wish we would have been
- 32:08Speaker 4: a lot elan f May she rest in?
- 32:11Speaker 1: I'm assuming makes she rest I want to guess. Yeah,
- 32:14Speaker 1: I thought it was going to say after the flight.
- 32:16Speaker 4: They cut her up into you know, and they're dropping
- 32:19Speaker 4: her milk from this guy and they're like, you know what,
- 32:21Speaker 4: I could go for a t bone. I don't know
- 32:23Speaker 4: how cows work is at the same kind of beefsteaks,
- 32:25Speaker 4: and there's milk military, there's cows milk, and.
- 32:29Speaker 1: There's cows that you slaughter, and there's cows that you
- 32:32Speaker 1: just have his pets. Well, no, you have him do.

- 32:37Speaker 1: I don't know. There's I don't know what you sabot cow?
- 32:40Speaker 1: Then there's bulls and they chase you down and you
- 32:42Speaker 1: hold up a thing and they yeah, I think i'd yeah,
- 32:46Speaker 1: I think i'd rather.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Did you ever run with the bulls? That's a thing
- 32:50Speaker 4: that like middle aged men.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Like, I'm gonna I don't think so.
- 32:53Speaker 4: I'm not very fast, but you do have like risk.
- 32:55Speaker 4: You talk about the risk a version, but you go,
- 32:57Speaker 4: what are you counterphobic? You got to go do it
- 32:59Speaker 4: because you're afraid of it. I would skydive? I think,
- 33:03Speaker 4: what do you mean you would? You got the money,
- 33:04Speaker 4: let's go. You want a skydive, I'll do it. Can
- 33:07Speaker 4: we be each other's tandem thing?
- 33:09Speaker 1: I don't think so. Would you be on my back
- 33:11Speaker 1: or when I'll be on your back? I don't think so.
- 33:13Speaker 1: I just think that that's asking for trouble. It needs
- 33:16Speaker 1: to be a trained person. There needs to be someone,
- 33:19Speaker 1: so I need to start taking the proper training. You
- 33:20Speaker 1: get the train. I know you're supposed to make a.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Pizza slice in midair, and you make yourself into pizza
- 33:26Speaker 4: slights and you're fine.
- 33:27Speaker 1: You're like, hey, grab that milk on her way down. Yeah,
- 33:30Speaker 1: grab that.
- 33:31Speaker 4: Here's some more milk from the sky, I mean, fresh
- 33:34Speaker 4: from the If milk falls from a parachute, don't you
- 33:37Speaker 4: drink it.
- 33:37Speaker 1: You deserve what happens to you. Did it have a lid?
- 33:40Speaker 1: Did they have lids? Said?
- 33:42Speaker 4: Paper cartons? I think paper cartons, So maybe the fold
- 33:46Speaker 4: out like the counts we had in school. Maybe, but
- 33:48Speaker 4: they could They didn't really advance on that design, even
- 33:50Speaker 4: all the way up into the eighties when I was
- 33:51Speaker 4: a kid. When you're getting the paper cartons.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Did you ever have trouble getting it open in a
- 33:55Speaker 1: way that would create and have you.
- 33:58Speaker 4: Got your pencil hand and you're stabbing that thing. Gosh,
- 34:00Speaker 4: that's why I used to say about juice caprice sons
- 34:03Speaker 4: sometimes that straw just goes. That's an old joke I
- 34:06Speaker 4: used to do, and I need to bring that joke back.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I uh, what was it?
- 34:10Speaker 3: Uh?
- 34:12Speaker 4: After seeing my doctor open a caprice son, I hope
- 34:15Speaker 4: I never need an emergency tracheotomy.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Yeah, because that's right straight through.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Yeah, anyways, apologize or listeners who've had tracheotomies.
- 34:25Speaker 3: Yeah that Hey, I went to Saint Louis last weekend?
- 34:29Speaker 3: Did you drink the milk was falling from the Saint
- 34:34Speaker 3: Louis is mostly vacant. The downtown area, like, the buildings
- 34:38Speaker 3: are all empty, a lot of them.
- 34:40Speaker 1: That's really interesting. So if me and you wanted to go,
- 34:42Speaker 1: because she's not a thriving city anything, think something. Yeah,
- 34:45Speaker 1: but because I had to walk a long way for parking,
- 34:47Speaker 1: people are gonna correct St. Louis. I love it. It's
- 34:51Speaker 1: just that there's a lot of vacant buildings. Yeah. Yeah,
- 34:54Speaker 1: did you go to city museum?
- 34:56Speaker 3: No, not this time, no time with I. We didn't
- 34:58Speaker 3: can do the arch or anything. All I did was drive.
- 35:01Speaker 3: I will say this, Yeah, I love Saint Louis, sure,
- 35:04Speaker 3: and I love Nashville. Okay, but the five hour drive
- 35:07Speaker 3: between betwixt the two soul.
- 35:11Speaker 1: There's nothing to say. It's it's a lie.
- 35:13Speaker 4: If you're one of those cities along the way, we apologize,
- 35:15Speaker 4: We don't mean any harm, but man.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Man, come on, guys, do better, you know, like build something.
- 35:21Speaker 4: I used to drive that route a lot because i'd
- 35:23Speaker 4: picked I'd catch the bus with Tim Hawkins. He's from
- 35:25Speaker 4: Saint Louis, so i'd drop be driving and it's you know,
- 35:27Speaker 4: your haggard just trying to get on the bus and
- 35:29Speaker 4: get going, and you're just like, man, this drive and
- 35:31Speaker 4: then you know you got to do it when you
- 35:32Speaker 4: get home. Like when you get back to the bus,
- 35:34Speaker 4: you're like, now I gotta drive.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Drive home. Was daytime and we were tired, but it
- 35:37Speaker 3: was actually better, which by the way, I did a
- 35:40Speaker 3: thing because we had to want to say, these friends
- 35:42Speaker 3: right along with us, and I was like, okay, now
- 35:45Speaker 3: I did not do it on the hour like I
- 35:47Speaker 3: wanted to, but this would be a good with my
- 35:49Speaker 3: little line. Well, I bought these things online called scenario cards.
- 35:53Speaker 4: Yeah, boy, and it sounds like somebody that thinks they're
- 35:55Speaker 4: a fun dad would do. And the kids are like,
- 35:59Speaker 4: scenario cards really, Dad? They just let us play on
- 36:01Speaker 4: our phones.
- 36:02Speaker 3: That's what I said, a fifteen minutes out of every hour,
- 36:05Speaker 3: put our phones down.
- 36:06Speaker 1: We're going to do snarrow cards. And they're like they're
- 36:09Speaker 1: all what if?
- 36:09Speaker 3: Yeah, And they're actually made by therapists, but they're for initiating.
- 36:13Speaker 1: So there. It sounds like a night just here. Listen.
- 36:15Speaker 3: They have these little spice levels on them, like you
- 36:18Speaker 3: can do you can do the spicy ones. Or the
- 36:20Speaker 3: looking to be Okay, it could be something like one
- 36:22Speaker 3: of them was, if you could have one animal that
- 36:25Speaker 3: was loyal to you by your side for the rest
- 36:27Speaker 3: of your.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Life, what would it be peregrine falcon.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Okay, that's strangely specific and quick quick answer. You know,
- 36:34Speaker 3: so then then you kind of go through or or
- 36:36Speaker 3: if you could what would your sixth grade self be
- 36:40Speaker 3: surprised about if they knew what you were doing.
- 36:42Speaker 4: That I now have a paragrine, be completely shad totally
- 36:47Speaker 4: be like I knew if we held under our dreams
- 36:50Speaker 4: we would eventually get one.
- 36:51Speaker 1: You would be great for this game.
- 36:52Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I would just make it all jokes. I'd
- 36:55Speaker 4: make fun of the game. That's how that's how I
- 36:58Speaker 4: enjoy games. I make fun of the people who go, well,
- 37:00Speaker 4: let's get a conversation going, and.
- 37:01Speaker 1: I go, ah, this guy's a loser. He wants to
- 37:03Speaker 1: talk feelings and have a heart. No, but did the
- 37:07Speaker 1: kids like it? They did? They loved it. Yeah, like,
- 37:09Speaker 1: we don't even need these phones. They threw them out
- 37:10Speaker 1: the window. I couldn't believe it. It was like, oh,
- 37:12Speaker 1: you saved America.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Yeah once the time the first time we went almost
- 37:17Speaker 3: probably forty five minutes.
- 37:18Speaker 1: But they really didn't notice they were having something.
- 37:20Speaker 4: Were they called again, maybe they could be a sponsor.
- 37:22Speaker 1: They were called scenario cards. Here's the thing. What's funny
- 37:25Speaker 1: about it.
- 37:26Speaker 4: You're like, we don't you know, it's so great, we
- 37:27Speaker 4: get all analog thing, and then they go, scenario cards
- 37:29Speaker 4: now an app in the app.
- 37:30Speaker 1: So oh yeah, I bought an Instagram. Yeah it's so great.
- 37:34Speaker 4: But it'll be an app and it'll be like, now
- 37:36Speaker 4: we can look at our phones and do scenario cards.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I am going to mission. I think the analog revolution.
- 37:42Speaker 3: You're going to be the guy I want to be
- 37:44Speaker 3: a part of. You're going to be the shea Gavera.
- 37:46Speaker 3: I just I'm just telling the digital analog revolution. You know,
- 37:49Speaker 3: there's a major lawsuit right now against the social media
- 37:54Speaker 3: it's out of California, Transaction against just like it was
- 37:58Speaker 3: the big tobacco. It's against because it's a big social
- 38:00Speaker 3: media brain run because they knew what they were doing
- 38:02Speaker 3: is what they say. So there's a lot of people
- 38:04Speaker 3: who are bringing like health concerns and other stuff. It's yeah,
- 38:06Speaker 3: it's a major major case.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Are you in the class. Let's be honest, can you
- 38:10Speaker 1: talk about it.
- 38:11Speaker 3: I'm not but under under the council. Council, I plead
- 38:15Speaker 3: the fifth I don't know how to really do legal things.
- 38:18Speaker 3: But yeah, well it was a good show, Johnny. Make

- 38:41Speaker 3: doesn't Why don't nobody comes?
- 38:43Speaker 4: Like I want some more assurances from people that they
- 38:45Speaker 4: would come if we did a live show, even if
- 38:47Speaker 4: we had, like, even if we had like twenty people,
- 38:49Speaker 4: I would feel like that would be fun.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Well, if it GE's twenty people from our friends and family,
- 38:54Speaker 1: that do we want? We want people? We want people
- 38:56Speaker 1: we want Yeah, I'm just kidding. We love our friends,
- 38:59Speaker 1: our friends, family. You know how much we love you
- 39:04Speaker 1: and our friends and family. That's fine. My wife listens,
- 39:09Speaker 1: that's nice. Does your wife listen? She does? Make her
- 39:11Speaker 1: because she does helps me do the descriptions. Oh you
- 39:13Speaker 1: make her. She listens at one point five x though.
- 39:17Speaker 1: So I come in, She's like, and I'm like, how
- 39:19Speaker 1: are you? So?
- 39:20Speaker 3: When we talk, when we actually talked to her, she
- 39:23Speaker 3: probably feels really weird to her.
- 39:28Speaker 4: That's what the next feature of human you know, evolution
- 39:32Speaker 4: is is like a button that you can hit that.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Speeds people up or whatever, a mute button or a Yeah,
- 39:38Speaker 1: let's wrap it up. Let's talk about your views and evolution.
- 39:42Speaker 1: I mean adaptation. Oh my gosh, I think adaptation is
- 39:46Speaker 1: what you mean.
- 39:46Speaker 3: But adaption, adaption falling apart adaptation, adaption, adaption is a
- 39:51Speaker 3: thing I don't know.
- 39:54Speaker 1: You don't know judges, ladies in general, the jury. Hey, guys,
- 40:00Speaker 1: thanks for time you gave today. It was a lot
- 40:01Speaker 1: of fun. Let's do it again next week. You talk
