Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: Appogiate production.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Life changing language shifts. I learned about language shifts a
- 0:15Speaker 2: couple of years ago, and.
- 0:16Speaker 1: They are literally life changing.
- 0:17Speaker 2: The way you say things can hold such meaning and
- 0:21Speaker 2: they can be so powerful in a negative in a
- 0:23Speaker 2: positive way.
- 0:24Speaker 1: So we've got a couple of examples.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Simple language swaps. You guys can start to practice in
- 0:29Speaker 2: your every day and you'll start to catch yourself, Like
- 0:32Speaker 2: I still patch myself when I'll say something, I'm like, oh,
- 0:35Speaker 2: hang on a second, Like this is the main one
- 0:38Speaker 2: for me, Okay, I have to do this. How often
- 0:41Speaker 2: do we say oh, I've got to do this, I
- 0:42Speaker 2: have to do that instead of I get to do this.
- 0:46Speaker 2: It is so powerful and it completely shifts and changes
- 0:50Speaker 2: the whole energy in your body and that task that
- 0:52Speaker 2: you think you have to do, if you can switch
- 0:54Speaker 2: it to I get to do this, it makes you
- 0:55Speaker 2: grateful for that task and like, if you put it
- 0:58Speaker 2: in a working scenario, I compare it to like previous
- 1:02Speaker 2: jobs that I've had that I've hated.
- 1:03Speaker 1: I'm like winging about having to do something.
- 1:04Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, this is a choice, Like I actually
- 1:06Speaker 2: get to do this, and this helps me be able
- 1:08Speaker 2: to do the thing that I really want to do.
- 1:09Speaker 1: So I'm actually.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Grateful I get to do that. Yeah, And that's that
- 1:12Speaker 2: simple shift and swap.
- 1:14Speaker 3: I love that one. Yeah, completely, the whole body, like
- 1:17Speaker 3: your whole body language changes. You're like, oh I have
- 1:20Speaker 3: to do this, and it's like I get to do
- 1:21Speaker 3: this exactly like you lift yourself up, you do.
- 1:24Speaker 2: And being around people that use that language is so
- 1:27Speaker 2: awesome to be around, Like those humans that are grateful,
- 1:30Speaker 2: they get the job done, they don't complain, they just
- 1:32Speaker 2: get into it. I just love being around those humans.
- 1:34Speaker 2: So that's a human I want to be. So that's
- 1:36Speaker 2: one of my main language shifts. That's been a real
- 1:38Speaker 2: game changer.
- 1:39Speaker 3: He's a good reminders. Yeah, Like I catch myself out
- 1:42Speaker 3: to you, I'm like, oh, cure the change that my
- 1:46Speaker 3: one is. I can't do it to how can I
- 1:49Speaker 3: do it? Oh?
- 1:50Speaker 1: I love it?
- 1:50Speaker 3: Yeah, because I feel like we go through phases with
- 1:52Speaker 3: someone's like, oh, but can we do that? And then
- 1:54Speaker 3: I'm like, no, we can. There's always way it work,
- 1:56Speaker 3: Like how can we make this work?
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yes, there's always a solution, isn't there? And if you
- 2:00Speaker 2: have that mindset to be solution based, like it's not
- 2:03Speaker 2: even an option it's like, how do we get this stuff?
- 2:05Speaker 3: To figure it out? It's okay, might need to work
- 2:06Speaker 3: a bit harder money to do this, money, put more
- 2:08Speaker 3: money in there, money to do that.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Yeah, but you can always figure out a way one
- 2:11Speaker 1: hundred percent.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:12Speaker 2: You just won't get far in life if you just
- 2:14Speaker 2: think you can't do things. Yeah, if you believe you
- 2:16Speaker 2: can or you believe you can't, you're right.
- 2:18Speaker 3: But if you stop and you think that too, you're
- 2:19Speaker 3: not even going to try. When you change the language
- 2:21Speaker 3: like how, it's like, oh, okay, now I've actually got
- 2:24Speaker 3: to sit down and think about.
- 2:25Speaker 1: It exactly, believe you can, and you're halfway there.
- 2:27Speaker 3: That's it.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Yeah, this one was a tough one.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I feel like for so many years, and sometimes I
- 2:32Speaker 2: still catch myself where I'll say things like I'm so
- 2:34Speaker 2: angry that they made me do this. I'm so angry
- 2:36Speaker 2: upset that they made me feel like this. It's like, no,
- 2:41Speaker 2: they're not in control of how you feel. They might
- 2:42Speaker 2: have contributors, but instead you can say I'm so disappointed
- 2:45Speaker 2: that I didn't stand strong on my boundaries.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:48Speaker 2: So at the end of the day, it's not that
- 2:49Speaker 2: person's fault. If you're feeling a certain way. No one's
- 2:52Speaker 2: made you do anything. If they've guilt shipped you or
- 2:55Speaker 2: pressured you to do something, yeah, that's not nice. But
- 2:58Speaker 2: you still have power to say no. So if you've
- 3:00Speaker 2: said yes, you've let your wall down and you've let
- 3:02Speaker 2: go of your boundaries, that's on you.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:05Speaker 1: So when you change to be like.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Oh, really disappointed that I didn't stand strong of my boundaries,
- 3:09Speaker 2: you're taking responsibility and ownership with that, and you can
- 3:11Speaker 2: take that lesson and be like, next time, I'm not
- 3:13Speaker 2: going to allow that to happen because it's left me
- 3:14Speaker 2: feeling like shit.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not their fault.
- 3:17Speaker 2: We have to fully take ownership and responsibility for everything. Yeah,
- 3:20Speaker 2: people contribute and come into your life and say and
- 3:22Speaker 2: do certain things, but at the end of the day,
- 3:23Speaker 2: we have to take full responsibility.
- 3:25Speaker 3: And when you do, you're not pointing a finger, You're
- 3:27Speaker 3: working yourself.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Exactly. Yeah, exactly. I really love that one.
- 3:32Speaker 3: So my next one is a very simple one that
- 3:34Speaker 3: I think gets overlooked. I think we all I definitely
- 3:37Speaker 3: still get guilty of this sometimes saying yes when we
- 3:39Speaker 3: really mean no. Yeah, I was like, hey, I miss you,
- 3:43Speaker 3: I haven't seen you for ages, I really want to
- 3:44Speaker 3: catch up this afternoon. You're looking down, You're like, oh
- 3:46Speaker 3: my god, this afteroon, I have this through that to
- 3:47Speaker 3: do this. Do that too, especially if you are a
- 3:49Speaker 3: mom that works from home, because I think sometimes they
- 3:52Speaker 3: can see you if you're like walking down the street
- 3:54Speaker 3: doing something, and they can be like, oh my gosh,
- 3:55Speaker 3: like you're at home, you're hanging out. It's like, no,
- 3:57Speaker 3: I'm actually working.
- 3:58Speaker 1: We've got stuff to do.
- 3:59Speaker 3: See what stuff to do? And like yeah, Sometimes I
- 4:01Speaker 3: just go like I for I really and wanting to
- 4:03Speaker 3: catch up someone. I'll be like yes, and then I'll
- 4:04Speaker 3: just get up the next morning and or whatever. But
- 4:07Speaker 3: sometimes I think I need to be a bit more like, oh,
- 4:09Speaker 3: i'd love to cat talk with you too, Like let's
- 4:10Speaker 3: organize a time. Yes, yeah, not right now, but yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Yeah that's so true. Yes, okay, this next one I love.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I feel like all of us will relate when really
- 4:22Speaker 2: hard things happen our life and we can stay in
- 4:25Speaker 2: a story that was the worst thing that ever happened
- 4:27Speaker 2: to me, but a language shift and is like, oh
- 4:29Speaker 2: that was really harder. I remember when that happened to me. Man,
- 4:32Speaker 2: I learned a lot. I grew so much. I have
- 4:34Speaker 2: so much more resilience, I have so much more understanding,
- 4:37Speaker 2: even though that was really challenging, Like that really stretched
- 4:40Speaker 2: me in a good way.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Now I can handle so much more. I understand so
- 4:43Speaker 1: much more.
- 4:44Speaker 2: But it's very easy to just say, oh, that was
- 4:46Speaker 2: the fucking worst time of my life. Yeah, finding the
- 4:49Speaker 2: rods so shit that that happened to me. And you
- 4:51Speaker 2: can stay in that victim, but all it does is
- 4:53Speaker 2: drag you down. It weighs you down. So when you
- 4:55Speaker 2: can switch it to be like, yeah that was fucking hard, validated.
- 4:58Speaker 2: That was really hard, but man I learned X, Y,
- 5:00Speaker 2: and Z, and now it helps me with this and
- 5:02Speaker 2: I've got a bigger capacity, Like how cool, so much
- 5:04Speaker 2: more empowered.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Yeah, and you're so right. The only person that's having
- 5:07Speaker 3: a negative effect on is yourself. I keep telling yourself
- 5:10Speaker 3: like that was so bad. That was so bad, Like yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 1: It's gonna feel pretty bad.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Yeah, but if you can go, oh wow, like yeah
- 5:15Speaker 3: that was ship, Like I have done this and I've
- 5:17Speaker 3: done that, and I've grown and it made me work
- 5:19Speaker 3: my mental health and made me do this.
- 5:20Speaker 1: It made me show up differently.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, forced me to learn that about myself,
- 5:24Speaker 2: like I needed to learn that lesson.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Yeah. So that's an awesome thing, like.
- 5:27Speaker 3: That little saying we always say, how life like pushes
- 5:29Speaker 3: you and pushes you until you get to the point
- 5:31Speaker 3: sometimes it like you got a really big lesson like yeah,
- 5:34Speaker 3: and you're like, fuck, it really wants me to learn this.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yep, but yeah, I love that, like nudge nudge, nudge push.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Yeah, this one I've been seeing floating around lately and
- 5:43Speaker 3: I really really like it.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:45Speaker 3: So instead of one day day one.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Oh, I did a whole reel on this. What did
- 5:49Speaker 1: you love it?
- 5:51Speaker 3: So instead of going, oh, yeah, one day I'll do this, Oh,
- 5:52Speaker 3: one day I'll do that, it's like, when are you
- 5:53Speaker 3: going to start? Like you may as well start right
- 5:55Speaker 3: be day one. Today can be day one.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I've been loving that.
- 5:58Speaker 3: You're floating around a bit lately, super trend the same.
- 6:01Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, I just I think that's so true.
- 6:03Speaker 3: I think we've always all got so much going on.
- 6:06Speaker 3: And it's like, are you going to continue to push
- 6:07Speaker 3: that thing asidecause obviously if you're thinking about it and
- 6:09Speaker 3: it's in your mind it's something you wanting to do,
- 6:11Speaker 3: just take action and start today.
- 6:12Speaker 2: And it's same with like healthy eating and exercises. It's like, oh,
- 6:15Speaker 2: I start Monday, Why today's Wednesday. Why can't you start
- 6:18Speaker 2: today and make decisions for your body, for your healthy
- 6:20Speaker 2: your goals right now.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Yeah, So that quotes that's super aligned. I love that.
- 6:23Speaker 1: It's so good. It's a good one.
- 6:26Speaker 3: So this one I don't know to let's find out, oh,
- 6:30Speaker 3: rather than I'm like, oh, I don't know how to
- 6:32Speaker 3: do that. I don't know how to do this, and
- 6:33Speaker 3: go let's find out. Let's look, let's find out. I
- 6:36Speaker 3: was like, that's really cool.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I need to practice that more because I get scared
- 6:38Speaker 2: of learning or scared I won't understand it, so sometimes
- 6:40Speaker 2: I'll avoid it. Yeah, and like delegate, but it's so true,
- 6:44Speaker 2: like let's find out, let's learn. Like you said before,
- 6:46Speaker 2: there's always a way.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Yeah, but it was just so I've never heard that before.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Like to change that, I don't know to like, let's
- 6:52Speaker 3: find out.
- 6:53Speaker 1: That's so nice.
- 6:54Speaker 3: It's such a nicest way to say it too, because
- 6:55Speaker 3: even like to team members, like if say you're having
- 6:57Speaker 3: a chat and they're like, oh, I don't know how
- 6:59Speaker 3: to do that, we could be like, oh, sweet, let's
- 7:00Speaker 3: find out.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Positive, it is positive. It's taking initiative, it's stepping up. Yeah.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's a good one. Like I'm going to
- 7:08Speaker 3: keep that one up my sleeve. So this one from
- 7:13Speaker 3: I can't to I choose yes. So at the end
- 7:18Speaker 3: of the day, if you're like, oh, I can't get
- 7:19Speaker 3: to the gym today, it's like, no, I choose to not.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Go to today. Such a powerful one, isn't it.
- 7:23Speaker 3: I can't eat healthy, I don't have time to go
- 7:25Speaker 3: to the shop now. Actually, you're just choosing to do
- 7:26Speaker 3: other things other than going to the shop and getting
- 7:28Speaker 3: the food.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Yes, I've had one similar before that it was like, yeah,
- 7:31Speaker 2: I can't get to the gym, but change the language
- 7:34Speaker 2: to saying the gym is not a priority.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Oh that's a good one. Okay.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Wow, that hits harder because it's a truth. If you're
- 7:43Speaker 2: not making time for it is not a priority. Yeah,
- 7:45Speaker 2: you make time for what is important, and you only
- 7:47Speaker 2: have to look at what you're doing day to day
- 7:50Speaker 2: to see what's important to you. And it might hit
- 7:52Speaker 2: really hard because if you look how much you're scrolling
- 7:54Speaker 2: watching Netflix whatever. And I'm all for that, but if
- 7:57Speaker 2: it's at the cost of taking over your health and
- 8:01Speaker 2: your emotional wellbeing and your connection all the things that
- 8:04Speaker 2: you know it's important.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a hard one to spot.
- 8:08Speaker 3: But next yeah, same thing for mental health. Like when
- 8:10Speaker 3: you say that, like I like I don't have time
- 8:12Speaker 3: to journal, Yeah, like I don't have time to do this,
- 8:14Speaker 3: blah bah blah, or like I can't do it important
- 8:16Speaker 3: to work on myself. That's it exactly right. It's like
- 8:18Speaker 3: I'm choosing not to I'm making that choice. Yeah.
- 8:22Speaker 2: But yeah, if you just switch it saying it's not
- 8:24Speaker 2: a priority or it's not important, it hits way harder
- 8:26Speaker 2: and then, you know what, it sounds negative, but it
- 8:28Speaker 2: actually creates positive change because when you say that, you're like, well, no,
- 8:31Speaker 2: it is important.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Okay, what are you gonna do about it?
- 8:33Speaker 2: You're gonna go to the gym or you're gonna keep
- 8:35Speaker 2: saying your excuses and that it's not important.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I feel like it really promotes action.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Yeah, it makes you and like you said, it makes
- 8:42Speaker 3: you go like, oh wow, that actually really is something
- 8:44Speaker 3: that I.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Wish to do that is important to me. So am
- 8:46Speaker 1: I saying that? Yeah that's a good one like that.
- 8:50Speaker 3: This one's very simple, but just talk about what you
- 8:52Speaker 3: do want instead of what you don't want. So instead
- 8:54Speaker 3: of being like, oh, I don't want to spend all
- 8:56Speaker 3: that money on that stock or whatever I say with
- 8:58Speaker 3: business and you're like, I do want a successful business.
- 9:01Speaker 3: I do want it to go well. I do think
- 9:02Speaker 3: it's gonna go well. Like rather than just thinking of
- 9:04Speaker 3: the negative and putting out what you don't want or
- 9:06Speaker 3: I don't want this to like push us financially or whatever,
- 9:09Speaker 3: to oh, I think that this will be like great
- 9:12Speaker 3: for us financially.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Yeah, just to kind of I don't.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Know irection with scarcity to always like go oh.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Yes and pull back. But you literally you can go
- 9:21Speaker 1: left or right.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it.
- 9:23Speaker 2: When you are using a certain language, you've got the
- 9:25Speaker 2: option to switch it.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:27Speaker 2: I love that focusing more on what you do want
- 9:29Speaker 2: rather than keep talking about what's not working, what you don't.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Want, because if you if you use that language.
- 9:33Speaker 2: I don't want this to happen or I'm scared for
- 9:35Speaker 2: this to happen, you are sitting in a certain frequency
- 9:38Speaker 2: that is going to attract more of that. If you're
- 9:41Speaker 2: like talking about what you do want, you're going to
- 9:42Speaker 2: match the frequency and energy you need to attract more
- 9:45Speaker 2: of that, whether that's money with that's deeper connection with that.
- 9:47Speaker 2: It's more health to be so aware of your language
- 9:49Speaker 2: because it does affect your energy.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Because even if I say, like, oh, I really don't
- 9:52Speaker 3: want Milla to be like tired and grumpy this afterno
- 9:54Speaker 3: when it's time from school. But I'm like, oh, well,
- 9:55Speaker 3: it's going to come home, Saffi, it's going to be
- 9:56Speaker 3: so energized, so happy about the best afternoon. And yeah,
- 9:59Speaker 3: you are. You're manifesting it put out.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Of the universe.
- 10:01Speaker 3: But if you say, even if you say don't, it
- 10:04Speaker 3: doesn't take that into accountability. You're speaking negatively. You're attracting
- 10:08Speaker 3: the negatives back in.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Got to be so aware of the frequency that you're
- 10:10Speaker 2: sitting at, hay. If you're not open and self aware,
- 10:13Speaker 2: you're closed. Like that's another.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Do you're not open your clothes Like, if you're not
- 10:18Speaker 3: aware of it, you're just like kind of sleep walking, yes,
- 10:21Speaker 3: sleep walking through life?
- 10:22Speaker 1: Yeah no, thank you. Just surviving, not thriving.
