- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi, it's Adam here, and in this episode of The Hypnotist you'll
- 0:44be listening to a hypnosis session.
- 0:47Created for a client who would have recurring physical.
- 0:51Sensations in a particular part of their body.
- 0:54That were. Uncomfortable and not
- 0:58necessarily painful, but linked to some kind of connotation of
- 1:04discomfort or. Unease.
- 1:07And they didn't want to keep feeling those particular things.
- 1:11But what's? Interesting with.
- 1:13The human body is that it's only capable of giving its attention
- 1:17to approximately 7 chunks of information at any point in
- 1:21time. And that's how you can have the
- 1:23situation of being in a room with a ticking clock, and even
- 1:28though the clock is absolutely ticking, you don't notice it's
- 1:31ticking because your attention. Is.
- 1:34On other things, a lot of people have had the experience of
- 1:37having some kind of. Headache or toothache and
- 1:40because they're. Immersed in something during the
- 1:42day for that time. The pain.
- 1:45Exists, but they don't. Feel it and that gives us a.
- 1:48Clue. As to how attention kind of play
- 1:51its role, this hypnosis session uses an element of regression.
- 1:56To a time. Where they didn't have these
- 1:58sensations, but then also lots of direct suggestions about how.
- 2:04They can notice. Something and have this feeling
- 2:06that it's going to be temporary and get ever decreasing levels
- 2:12of intensity. And there's various metaphors
- 2:15for for that. So if you think of you throw a
- 2:18Pebble into a pond, the ripples are quite big to begin with and
- 2:22get smaller and smaller. Or an echo, the loud noise has
- 2:28an echo, but the echo gets quieter and quieter.
- 2:31So these are the kind of metaphors that you're going to
- 2:33hear throughout this session to give an idea of reducing
- 2:38intensity. And there's a few others in
- 2:39there as well. To get the most out of this, I
- 2:42would say think of some. Kind of thought.
- 2:46Feeling or emotion? That.
- 2:50When it comes up, you don't particularly.
- 2:52Like. It and then think of that when
- 2:55you're listening to this session, so that whether it's a
- 2:58thought, whether it's a physical sensation, whether it's just an
- 3:01emotional feeling, you can get the benefit of this.
- 3:04Session which is. Highlighting that you can
- 3:07acknowledge it, but it's becoming less and less prevalent
- 3:10in your present and in your future will be so minimal that
- 3:14it's barely recognizable. Obviously this session was
- 3:18created for an individual client.
- 3:21Not all the suggestions are going to be relevant to you, so
- 3:23if you do feel that. You might benefit.
- 3:25From a bespoke 1 to one session with me.
- 3:28There will be a link in the show notes where you can schedule
- 3:30that free consultation call. For now though.
- 3:33Find a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 3:36Relax. And enjoy the session.
- 4:11Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 4:21long, slow, relaxing breath. And as you exhale, give
- 4:28permission to really let go of any feelings of stress, tension.
- 4:37Or. No worries feeling as you're
- 4:41breathing in, you're breathing in a wonderful feeling of
- 4:47resourceful relaxation and just allowing any tension in the
- 4:54forehead, the jaw around your eyes to melt away in that
- 5:02outward breath. In fact, I want you to think of
- 5:08a bright colour that represents the most powerful, useful
- 5:18resources. And maybe that's confidence,
- 5:23relaxation, a feeling of health and vitality.
- 5:32Whatever that colour is, just imagine breathing in that
- 5:36colour, that bright vibrant colour, and as you exhale,
- 5:45imagine something darker leaving your body, something grey or
- 5:51shadowy, and allow that to represent any fears, worries,
- 5:56stresses or strains niggling. Thoughts.
- 6:00Just. Allow it to leave your body in
- 6:04that outward breath. Imagine it leaving your body and
- 6:12then take another deep breath in of this bright vibrant colour,
- 6:17all the resources your body needs right now, breathing it
- 6:22in, exhaling out those greys and shadows.
- 6:28And the deeper you breathe, the more resourceful you're feeling.
- 6:32And the more the resourceful you're feeling, the deeper you
- 6:35breathe. As you consider this a hypnotic
- 6:41transfusion, Some anaesthetics are not injected.
- 6:52Don't come in a pill or a potion.
- 6:55There are gas that you breathe in.
- 6:58So imagine this vibrant, bright colour of resources being a
- 7:05hypnotic anaesthetic breathing that kind of feel like you're
- 7:11drifting off to a time when you felt free, relaxed and healthy.
- 7:25As you breathe in and breathe out, I want you to recall the
- 7:27time you were driving. Maybe you can remember a
- 7:34specific car, open roads, just you driving somewhere.
- 7:44Maybe you had a destination in mind and maybe you didn't.
- 7:50But I want you to feel like you're back behind the wheel
- 7:54driving. I want you to notice how relaxed
- 8:02you feel. Maybe you could imagine music
- 8:07was playing, but I want you to get a sense of how relaxed and
- 8:14free you felt. No stress, no strains, no
- 8:19worries, no nothing to think about.
- 8:24But just to be, I want you to imagine this road turns from a
- 8:34road into a country Rd. and the country Rd. then turns into some
- 8:42kind of off road trail. Just imagine that you've slowed
- 8:48down but still feel completely free, completely relaxed.
- 8:59I want you to think of the road as being things you think about
- 9:03all the time. Allow the Country Rd. to think
- 9:07about things you only think about occasionally, and allow
- 9:16the off road trail to represent things you hardly ever think
- 9:23about. So imagine being perhaps in a
- 9:28Jeep, off road. Notice your surroundings until
- 9:36you find some kind of opening. Completely peaceful, no one
- 9:44around. Maybe out in the wilderness, out
- 9:47in nature, out in thoughts. You rarely.
- 9:51Think about and somewhere nearby, now that you've left the
- 9:58car, just imagine some small pond.
- 10:05Imagine blue skies, imagine sunshine.
- 10:12There's something about this pond that is so still.
- 10:18The surface is reflective and I want you to stare into your own
- 10:23reflection in the pond and think of a specific birthday.
- 10:30A birthday where you prioritized your needs.
- 10:39And sometimes we do that. We stare into a fixed point,
- 10:44access a memory, drift off in our own imaginations.
- 10:50So think of a birthday where you put yourself first.
- 10:56You were the priority, not in a selfish way, but in a way that
- 11:05gave you permission to have your needs met.
- 11:13Feel a wonderful feeling of you didn't have to sacrifice your
- 11:21quality of life for other people, that the opposite was
- 11:26true. By you enjoying yourself, other
- 11:31people were also able to enjoy themselves as you get this sense
- 11:41that sometimes things just sort themselves out.
- 11:48In the past there were celebrations that you had to
- 11:52think too much and do too much, but as you recall this birthday,
- 11:59the less you did, the more things naturally gravitated to a
- 12:06way of having it work out best for everyone.
- 12:12If you can recall that feeling that the less you did, the
- 12:18better it worked out, let me know about nodding your head.
- 12:29I want you to get a sense that as you recall, that feeling of
- 12:39self-care, the relaxation of letting go, of worries and
- 12:46expectations of what has to happen.
- 12:51Things worked out fine. So just imagine back there, out
- 12:59in nature, staring into a still pond, getting a sense that
- 13:06everything in the world that grew had a point where it was
- 13:11just an idea. Just a seed.
- 13:20Every tree was a seed at one point.
- 13:25Every animal was just two cells originally, and therefore every
- 13:37sensation, every tingle, every feeling had a point of
- 13:44inception. It came from somewhere.
- 13:52Anything that can be created can be replaced or changed, adapted
- 13:58or evolved. So imagine staring into the
- 14:03pond, feeling that new seeds of ideas are being planted deep in
- 14:09your subconscious mind that improves the quality of your
- 14:13life. Not by thinking more, but by
- 14:18thinking less. Not by doing more, but by doing
- 14:25less. As you stare into the pond, you
- 14:31can accept that certain sensations that you've been
- 14:35feeling are real, but they no longer need your attention.
- 14:44You can choose to give them attention, but they don't need
- 14:46it. Just like guests at a party,
- 14:53they don't need you to do anything.
- 14:57And maybe you consider these sensations like background noise
- 15:01that fades into silence. And what if every time you feel
- 15:12a certain tingling sensation, you imagine it diluting,
- 15:20becoming softer, gentler, like ripples on a pond, growing
- 15:26still? The ripples are real but don't
- 15:31last forever until it's back to stillness and you recognise that
- 15:41any false signals, maybe it feels like you have to do
- 15:46something, are simply illusions that you can acknowledge and
- 15:53then release. If they're real, they will
- 15:56return, and if they're not, you get to do things on your terms.
- 16:05Each breath you take helps the intensity of these sensations
- 16:11fade, like a mist disappearing in the morning sunlight.
- 16:19It's real, it's there, and then it's not, and you can feel these
- 16:24sensations softening with every exhale, as though your body is
- 16:32letting go of unnecessary tension because no sensation can
- 16:40last forever. It's been moments that you've
- 16:44stopped a tow, felt real pain, and then it faded.
- 16:52The time when you accidentally burn yourself.
- 16:55The pain was real, but it doesn't exist now.
- 17:00All sensations fade, and what if you imagined it?
- 17:09Undesirable sensations are like a ticking clock, present but
- 17:15unimportant, and your focus naturally drifts elsewhere.
- 17:24That you have the power to allow these feelings to exist without
- 17:29judgement, knowing that they will soon fade away.
- 17:37Just like a wave that rises and gently retreats, Allow these
- 17:43sensations to come and go without feeling that you need to
- 17:49do anything with them. If you were staring into the
- 17:57sea, seeing the waves rise and fall doesn't mean you have to do
- 18:05anything with the waves. And the less you do, the less
- 18:11important they become, because each time a particular sensation
- 18:19arises, what if you automatically remind yourself
- 18:28this could be a false signal and I can let it pass?
- 18:37You've had times where you've set an alarm and the alarm was
- 18:40important, but sometimes the same alarm goes off at a
- 18:45different time and it isn't important.
- 18:54Allow yourself to believe that some of these sensations are
- 18:57false alarms going off but not needing you to do anything.
- 19:13What if you were to choose to approach these sensations with
- 19:18curiosity rather than concern? That you can be curious,
- 19:27noticing them, but not needing to do anything.
- 19:32I just notice how quickly they fade whenever you do that.
- 19:41What if your mind naturally finds more enjoyable and
- 19:45engaging things to focus on? The sensations may even still be
- 19:50there, but they just fade into the background.
- 19:58But you can direct your thoughts to memories of comfort, peace
- 20:02and ease, which grows stronger and more vivid, just like
- 20:10turning the dial on a radio. Why would you voluntarily choose
- 20:16to listen to a radio station you don't like when you can TuneIn
- 20:21as something that's preferable? Start to think of these
- 20:26sensations as just because they exist doesn't mean you need to
- 20:32tune into them. Change the dial, change the
- 20:37frequency, and choose to focus on things that are more
- 20:41enjoyable and useful for you. And each time a sensation
- 20:49arises, what if your mind instinctively redirects to
- 20:54something calming, leaving the sensation behind?
- 21:01As you find it increasingly easy to immerse yourself in
- 21:07activities that bring you happiness, while these
- 21:12sensations quietly fade away, they can be a reminder to be
- 21:17mindful, to do things you enjoy, to think of things you enjoy, to
- 21:24make decisions that improve your life.
- 21:28In which case these sensations become less significant and only
- 21:35enrich the quality of your life. Because these sensations have
- 21:44served their purpose and now they can drift away, just like a
- 21:49cloud dissolving in the sky after the rain has fallen.
- 21:56And maybe you can imagine these sensations like an echo, growing
- 22:01fainter and fainter until it's no longer there.
- 22:09And sometimes things change so subtly you don't realise they're
- 22:17gone until they're gone. There was a time that you had
- 22:27maybe some kind of mild injury, and to begin with there was pain
- 22:34and awareness, but as the healing took place, it reached a
- 22:40point that the sensations just disappeared without you
- 22:46realizing they'd even gone. As you remind yourself that how
- 22:53things used to feel calm and unnoticed will naturally and
- 23:00effortlessly return. That with every passing moment,
- 23:10these sensations, as real as they may be, are losing their
- 23:16power over you. And as they lose their power,
- 23:24their significance, the intensity also decreases,
- 23:30leaving you feeling grounded, comfortable and free, gradually
- 23:37moving into this more desirable, the future that reminds you of a
- 23:45time when these sensations weren't even noticeable at all.
- 23:56So imagine seeing a reflection of yourself in that still pond a
- 24:03year or two in the future where that version of you no longer
- 24:09even notices these kind of sensations.
- 24:13The tingles have gone are the weird or uncomfortable
- 24:18sensations are so infrequent they're unnoticeable.
- 24:24As you look at the reflection, get a deep conviction that the
- 24:28future will arrive sooner than you think without you needing to
- 24:37do anything, and then as you leave the pond, climb back in
- 24:43your car. Take a journey backwards, first
- 24:48driving off road, old trails, then the trails lead to a
- 24:59country Rd., the country Rd. leads to a normal Rd. and then
- 25:07some kind of motorway or highway all the way back to the present
- 25:13taking all the changes and thoughts with you.
- 25:17That's in. Very soon I will count from 1:00
- 25:21to 10:00 to awaken you. You will awaken feeling
- 25:24resourceful, optimistic, feeling a release of things you need to
- 25:33do, and more willing to go with the flow on your terms starting
- 25:42to count. Take a deep breath in through
- 25:45your nose and out through your nose.
- 25:47Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes as it's time to return
- 25:52to the present. 123 waking up. 456 more alert. 7-8 open your
- 26:02eyes, open your eyes. 910 Wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
