- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, my name's Santasha Nabananga Bamblet. I'm a proud Order
- 0:05Speaker 1: Order Kernie Whoalbury and a waddery woman. And before we
- 0:08Speaker 1: get started on She's on the Money podcast, I would
- 0:11Speaker 1: like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land of
- 0:14Speaker 1: which this podcast is recorded on a wondery country, acknowledging
- 0:18Speaker 1: the elders, the ancestors and the next generation coming through
- 0:23Speaker 1: as this podcast is about connecting, empowering, knowledge sharing and
- 0:27Speaker 1: the storytelling of you to make a difference for today
- 0:31Speaker 1: and lasting impact for tomorrow.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Let's get into it.
- 0:34Speaker 3: She's on the Money. She's on the Money.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Hello, and welcome to She's on the Money. The cast
- 1:00Speaker 4: the mag's personal finance fun especially on Fridays. It's our
- 1:04Speaker 4: favorite day of the week because this week we're getting
- 1:06Speaker 4: the team together and we are celebrating you. How incredible
- 1:09Speaker 4: She's on the Money community. First cab off the rank.
- 1:12Speaker 4: We've got Miss Grichin. She's going to be sharing some
- 1:15Speaker 4: money wins and confessions from the community. Miss bech Sayed
- 1:18Speaker 4: has a few broke tips for us. Beck I actually
- 1:21Speaker 4: have a tip.
- 1:21Speaker 2: To add this week.
- 1:23Speaker 4: I don't know if it's a good tip, but I
- 1:25Speaker 4: sent the TikTok of it to Jess yesterday. No, no,
- 1:29Speaker 4: it's not. Well, it's not a money win because I
- 1:31Speaker 4: didn't buy it. It's like a tip.
- 1:33Speaker 2: You can have it, you can have it, but it'll
- 1:35Speaker 2: be like a coy.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Thank god, thank god he was on TikTok again, like
- 1:42Speaker 4: I live there. We're going to be answering a money
- 1:45Speaker 4: dilemma this week. It's all about how to pay for
- 1:47Speaker 4: your egg freezing. And we've also got a juicy conversation
- 1:51Speaker 4: to have something that you slid into our d MS about.
- 1:53Speaker 4: We're going to be talking about buying property with a
- 1:56Speaker 4: family member before I ask you about how your weeks were,
- 2:00Speaker 4: My loves, do you know what today is? What? It
- 2:02Speaker 4: is the last day of intake for the Investing master Class,
- 2:06Speaker 4: and would you believe thousands of women have joined us now.
- 2:11Speaker 4: I am so excited about it, but I wanted to
- 2:14Speaker 4: mention it just right here at the top because it
- 2:16Speaker 4: is the last day. Doors are closing today. So if
- 2:19Speaker 4: you've been on the fence about jumping into the Investing
- 2:21Speaker 4: master Class you're not sure if it's for you, go
- 2:24Speaker 4: have a look at the website. We're going to put
- 2:25Speaker 4: all of the information in the show notes. Obviously, I'm
- 2:28Speaker 4: going to give you a discount if you use the
- 2:30Speaker 4: code podcast, you'll get a cheeky little discount at checkout.
- 2:34Speaker 4: But I'm really excited because it starts on Monday. The
- 2:38Speaker 4: reason we're closing doors is to make sure that everybody
- 2:41Speaker 4: gets in at the same time. They all have an
- 2:43Speaker 4: epic experience and we can like go through each module
- 2:47Speaker 4: live and we can drop it to make sure that
- 2:49Speaker 4: you are on top of it, because I feel like
- 2:51Speaker 4: sometimes you're like I've got all the best intentions in
- 2:53Speaker 4: the world, and then you don't do it, so it's
- 2:55Speaker 4: like kind of us holding you accountable. There are already
- 2:58Speaker 4: hundreds of women in our Facebook group as well talking
- 3:01Speaker 4: about how excited they are.
- 3:03Speaker 2: There's a few posts I've.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Seen where people are looking for accountability partners, and I
- 3:07Speaker 4: just think it's the sweetest thing ever because you can
- 3:09Speaker 4: just see that they're making friends with one another, and
- 3:11Speaker 4: I honestly cannot wait to jump in. So if you
- 3:14Speaker 4: haven't dove in yet and you really want to the
- 3:17Speaker 4: Code is podcast because obviously, like we're going to need
- 3:19Speaker 4: a discount, but also I don't mean to put the
- 3:22Speaker 4: pressure on, I haven't before doors do close. So if
- 3:26Speaker 4: you want to be in it to literally win it
- 3:28Speaker 4: or like invest it, you need to do that sooner
- 3:31Speaker 4: rather than later. But moving on, my loves, how are
- 3:34Speaker 4: your weeks?
- 3:34Speaker 3: Goohed?
- 3:35Speaker 5: Happy public holiday to everyone in Melbourne and gets a
- 3:37Speaker 5: day off for the footy?
- 3:38Speaker 2: Love that for us? Wait is that this week?
- 3:40Speaker 5: Yes?
- 3:40Speaker 4: Oh so have Friday off? Yeh, you're coming to work
- 3:46Speaker 4: on Friday.
- 3:47Speaker 1: No.
- 3:47Speaker 4: I love being the boss and knowing everything about my
- 3:50Speaker 4: own vis.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Will come.
- 3:53Speaker 4: That's cool. Do you know what's actually quite funny? I
- 3:55Speaker 4: saw Gabby who used to work at She's on the Money,
- 3:58Speaker 4: who now works for the af L.
- 4:00Speaker 2: She was telling me all about this yesterday.
- 4:02Speaker 4: She's like, oh, they I need to borrow all address
- 4:04Speaker 4: because you know I've got all these.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Grand final things.
- 4:07Speaker 4: I did not put two and two together that she
- 4:09Speaker 4: borrowed a dress because it was this week. I was
- 4:12Speaker 4: just like, yeah, come raid my wardrobe. All good or good,
- 4:15Speaker 4: no worries. She did tell me it was for Friday.
- 4:18Speaker 4: My brain, my brain, no comprehendo.
- 4:20Speaker 6: No, it's shockingly not all consuming this year, Like I
- 4:24Speaker 6: just feel like I haven't heard or seen but maybe I'm.
- 4:27Speaker 2: If it's your team. It depends.
- 4:28Speaker 6: Yeah, and then there are no Melbourne teams and this. Yeah,
- 4:31Speaker 6: maybe that's why.
- 4:32Speaker 4: I don't know why I am so useless. But I
- 4:35Speaker 4: also did watch The Brownlow, so like, yeah, you know
- 4:43Speaker 4: you were saying, oh, like I feel like it's not anywhere.
- 4:46Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, it's been everywhere for me. Yeah, And
- 4:49Speaker 4: I've been all over TikTok looking at all the girls dresses.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Like because when I say I watched the Brown Low,
- 4:55Speaker 4: I just watched the red carpet section like a normal person.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Yeah, Like that's it.
- 5:00Speaker 4: I just want to see the dresses. I want to
- 5:02Speaker 4: see what's going on. I want to see who brought who,
- 5:05Speaker 4: and then I want to go to bed early. But
- 5:07Speaker 4: about that, Jess, You've got a public holiday, so this
- 5:10Speaker 4: week is a good week.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Thrilled. I have a racket racket club, so hopefully.
- 5:15Speaker 4: I've heard about racket clubs.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Six grees of separation.
- 5:19Speaker 5: It's like a consignments rate.
- 5:20Speaker 2: It's like you sell your.
- 5:20Speaker 5: Clothes, you rent a rack basically you and I've done
- 5:23Speaker 5: punter markets before where you stand there for hours on
- 5:26Speaker 5: end and you're selling your stuff and you're hggling. And
- 5:28Speaker 5: it was good it was fun.
- 5:29Speaker 2: We had a good time. Gillies now brought their pets.
- 5:32Speaker 4: I got to drink coffee, I got to meet heaps
- 5:34Speaker 4: of people. Also, I love a little bit of a
- 5:37Speaker 4: circular economy really absolutely. We're just talking about my girlfriend
- 5:41Speaker 4: coming over because she borrowed one of my dresses.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I love that reduced free recycling.
- 5:46Speaker 5: Yeah, so it's like a similar thing, except do you
- 5:48Speaker 5: render it for like a longer period. So I a
- 5:50Speaker 5: girlfriend and I went halves. So we've got like this
- 5:53Speaker 5: rack for two weeks.
- 5:54Speaker 2: It's I think.
- 5:54Speaker 5: About the same price point as like a one day
- 5:57Speaker 5: at like a like a Camwell market.
- 5:58Speaker 4: That's cool because racket I was like taking off. I've
- 6:01Speaker 4: seen it all over social media again chronically online over here.
- 6:06Speaker 5: And it's co founded by Alice who used to work
- 6:09Speaker 5: on Jason Lauren.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Yeah that's right. Yeah, that's kind of fun.
- 6:12Speaker 5: She used to wear for iHeart and then when you know,
- 6:15Speaker 5: obviously that and all the redundanties and stuff happened, she
- 6:17Speaker 5: and her friends started this business and they're just opening
- 6:19Speaker 5: like their third.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Styeah like they do one, they've now got three. Isn't
- 6:23Speaker 2: that iNeST really cool? Yeah?
- 6:25Speaker 5: And so I said, I've done my big sprinkling. I've
- 6:27Speaker 5: been selling stuff, so now I've just dumped it all.
- 6:29Speaker 5: I mean, I dump it all there for the weekend.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Is that Scanlin dress that I saw on deep Pop
- 6:33Speaker 4: going to be there?
- 6:34Speaker 2: Absolutely? Oh so you've got good stuff?
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 6:36Speaker 2: Oh I love it? So what you you borrow a
- 6:39Speaker 2: whole rap?
- 6:39Speaker 4: Yeah? I retr clothes in the shop and they really
- 6:42Speaker 4: and go to the shop and like basically go and
- 6:44Speaker 4: purchase your stuff and then they sell it for you.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Obviously they're going to clip the ticket on the way through.
- 6:50Speaker 2: But then at the.
- 6:51Speaker 4: End of the two weeks they'll be like, hey, Jess,
- 6:52Speaker 4: come pick up the stuff that you haven't sold.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Right and new money. And I'm just doing it.
- 6:57Speaker 5: Like the stuff that I have on deepop is still
- 6:59Speaker 5: on deeper because you can track it online what has sold.
- 7:02Speaker 5: Like if something sells at Racket Club, I'll just market
- 7:04Speaker 5: is sold on deep Op. So it's like smiling and
- 7:08Speaker 5: I don't have to stand there all day like it
- 7:09Speaker 5: just as a shopkeeper who does it all at the lovely.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Great How good is that? Okay?
- 7:14Speaker 6: I'm so sorry I know that we're probably I don't
- 7:16Speaker 6: want to take up too much time, but you're renting
- 7:18Speaker 6: the physical rack. I'm thinking you're renting a rack of
- 7:20Speaker 6: clothes and just wearing them for the week.
- 7:24Speaker 2: They're I understand, I understand. I'm so sorry. Why are
- 7:27Speaker 2: you sorry?
- 7:29Speaker 4: Honestly, if you were thinking it's someone somewhere, we're sitting
- 7:32Speaker 4: in their club being jess. You have so many clothes,
- 7:35Speaker 4: why would you rent a whole rack of clothes to wear.
- 7:38Speaker 2: I hope there's at least one person sitting at a
- 7:41Speaker 2: club club.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Slide into my DM so that I can show back,
- 7:45Speaker 4: so that we can all feel better about this situation. Yes, please, no,
- 7:49Speaker 4: but I love that borough a friend's dress go to
- 7:52Speaker 4: racket club, like it's a good idea. I was thinking
- 7:55Speaker 4: about that when I got dressed this morning, because I
- 7:57Speaker 4: put on this skirt that I'm wearing.
- 7:59Speaker 5: I love it.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I've had it for ten plus years.
- 8:03Speaker 4: I was putting it on this morning and I was like, oh,
- 8:05Speaker 4: this is probably not a good thing.
- 8:07Speaker 2: But like Scanlon.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Theodore used to be, I won't say accessible, it was
- 8:12Speaker 4: like a bit more expensive. But more recently they've gone
- 8:15Speaker 4: insane with their prices, Like I cannot justify it. Like
- 8:18Speaker 4: I used to be like, oh this is you know,
- 8:21Speaker 4: obviously very bougie purchased, but like two hundred and fifty
- 8:24Speaker 4: three hundred dollars for a skirt, Like I could find
- 8:27Speaker 4: a way to make it work in my budget because
- 8:29Speaker 4: I'm a fashion girly.
- 8:30Speaker 2: But now they're like eight hundred dollars.
- 8:32Speaker 4: I'm out.
- 8:33Speaker 2: I'm out.
- 8:33Speaker 5: Dress times are the only reason I have it is
- 8:35Speaker 5: I got it at a warehouse, but it was originally
- 8:37Speaker 5: I think, like seven hundred dollars.
- 8:39Speaker 4: It's insane, right, And I was just thinking, hey, I've
- 8:42Speaker 4: got pretty good cosper wear out of this skirt. Like
- 8:45Speaker 4: I tried to track back when I got it, and
- 8:47Speaker 4: I was like, I don't know when I got it,
- 8:49Speaker 4: but I remember going on dates with my husband wearing
- 8:52Speaker 4: this skirt when we first met.
- 8:53Speaker 2: And then I was like, oh, that was a really
- 8:55Speaker 2: long time ago.
- 8:56Speaker 4: And then I was like, oh, this skirt's probably ten
- 8:59Speaker 4: isn't it.
- 9:00Speaker 5: Can say pieces that last that long, they're good quality.
- 9:07Speaker 4: I know. I was actually kind of low key chuffed.
- 9:10Speaker 4: I was like, this is like that's cool.
- 9:12Speaker 2: And it comes around, doesn't it totally?
- 9:14Speaker 4: Do you know why I've pulled it back out because
- 9:16Speaker 4: I was coming back, you know, I saw something similar
- 9:18Speaker 4: online and I.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Was like, I think I have something like that perfect.
- 9:21Speaker 2: I never throw out your clothes.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Anyway, Beck, Yes, enough about racket clothes and my outfits.
- 9:28Speaker 2: How's your week being really good?
- 9:29Speaker 6: I was actually going to tell you guys before we
- 9:31Speaker 6: started this, but I didn't want to take up too
- 9:32Speaker 6: much time.
- 9:33Speaker 2: But I was diagnosed with ADHD yesterday.
- 9:37Speaker 4: And it's so funny because offline I was like, oh
- 9:40Speaker 4: my god, so my ADHD meds x y Z and
- 9:44Speaker 4: didn't even manage to.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Tell me that.
- 9:45Speaker 6: No, while I was like, oh, we probably should start,
- 9:48Speaker 6: and I was like, I felt bad that I was
- 9:50Speaker 6: taking too much time, So I was like, maybe just
- 9:51Speaker 6: like dropping and then we'll.
- 9:53Speaker 4: We'll talk about it on the pod to talk about
- 9:56Speaker 4: medical history, just straight.
- 9:58Speaker 2: On the post. We never do. Oh ye, god, congratulations,
- 10:02Speaker 2: thank you. I do feel validated.
- 10:04Speaker 4: I know that.
- 10:04Speaker 6: Like what I was saying to my psychiatrist in like
- 10:07Speaker 6: the most chaotic and ironically like yeah, back and forth
- 10:10Speaker 6: kind of way, was I was worried that I wouldn't
- 10:12Speaker 6: be taken seriously because so many people are a kind
- 10:15Speaker 6: of realizing that they may have ADHD all at the
- 10:17Speaker 6: same time.
- 10:18Speaker 2: That's because we all do. Yeah, I think that a
- 10:20Speaker 2: lot of people do.
- 10:21Speaker 6: Yeah, I was like awful in school, but not from
- 10:24Speaker 6: lack of like, you know, intelligence or the capacity to learn.
- 10:29Speaker 6: It was purely that, like I just yeah, I think
- 10:32Speaker 6: that my brain has always worked in a certain way.
- 10:34Speaker 6: I'm glad that I finally have done something about it.
- 10:36Speaker 6: I'm like, what could I have been if I'm impressed?
- 10:38Speaker 4: I'm actually so impressed. What was your process? Like, you know,
- 10:41Speaker 4: complete side. No, I know people listening are going to
- 10:44Speaker 4: be like, oh, I've been thinking about this or you know,
- 10:46Speaker 4: I'm not sure what this looks like. And I'm no
- 10:48Speaker 4: help because I got diagnosed at like eighteen nineteen, like
- 10:51Speaker 4: I've known for my entire career.
- 10:54Speaker 2: I lied about it for.
- 10:55Speaker 4: A long time, if we're being honest, because I was
- 10:56Speaker 4: embarrassed off it and now everyone's talking about it. I
- 10:58Speaker 4: was like, oh, so it's like not the worst thing ever.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Oh okay, thank you for validating me. But how long
- 11:04Speaker 4: did it take you to get diagnosed?
- 11:05Speaker 2: So for me, I was really lucky.
- 11:07Speaker 6: I have heard the people go to psychologists like twenty
- 11:09Speaker 6: times and then go to a psychiatrist blah blah blah.
- 11:12Speaker 6: But I went to my doctor in Brunsick, East I
- 11:15Speaker 6: love her with my whole heart. And she was like,
- 11:18Speaker 6: I'll find you the cheapest psychiatrist. Didn't I didn't have
- 11:21Speaker 6: to go to a psychologist.
- 11:22Speaker 4: No, psychologists can't like diagnose anyway.
- 11:25Speaker 6: And I think that I thought that they were the
- 11:27Speaker 6: ones to refer to you, right, But they can, they can,
- 11:30Speaker 6: they can, they will. But I went to my GP
- 11:33Speaker 6: and I told her about this, and I was like,
- 11:34Speaker 6: I think I want to maybe see and then she
- 11:35Speaker 6: was like cool. She set me up an appointment with
- 11:38Speaker 6: a psychiatrist of telehealth in Tasmania. It's the cheapest that
- 11:41Speaker 6: she could find and it was.
- 11:43Speaker 2: What g six hundred out of pocket wow? Thousands wow?
- 11:48Speaker 2: And so I went to her. She referred me.
- 11:51Speaker 6: I had an appointment bing bong bang literally one appointment yesterday,
- 11:56Speaker 6: and in that same appointment he was like you you
- 11:59Speaker 6: fit criteria blah blah blah. And then so now I
- 12:02Speaker 6: have to go back to my GP when it's already
- 12:04Speaker 6: she's gonna give me something for that.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Oh, she's gonna manage you strategy.
- 12:09Speaker 2: How good? Yeah, So I think it's Yeah, it's been great.
- 12:14Speaker 2: It's a journey. It's a journey.
- 12:15Speaker 4: It's very validating knowing that it's not just you totally,
- 12:19Speaker 4: like it's yeah, I totally get that, all right, totally.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Let's jump into the episode because I would love to
- 12:25Speaker 4: talk about ADHD all day because it's like super pervy
- 12:28Speaker 4: but like your medical history like probably true, like she's
- 12:32Speaker 4: on the money vibes like it is it is.
- 12:34Speaker 2: But we won't push it. You know, sure you can
- 12:37Speaker 2: take it. Yeah, don't worry.
- 12:40Speaker 4: I'm gonna But jess, what have you pulled out of
- 12:42Speaker 4: the community this week? I feel like there's been a
- 12:44Speaker 4: lot of good money wins. I've been in that thread
- 12:47Speaker 4: this week replying and asking for pet tax.
- 12:50Speaker 2: So what have you pulled out? Alrighty?
- 12:52Speaker 5: My first win this week comes from Cat who said
- 12:55Speaker 5: she has gotten on the train. She's made about three
- 12:57Speaker 5: hundred bucks last week by selling things she no longer
- 12:59Speaker 5: needed on Facebook Marketplace. Things were selling super quickly, and
- 13:03Speaker 5: she said it's a win all round because now she
- 13:05Speaker 5: has less clutter as well, which we love. Next, I've
- 13:08Speaker 5: got money win from Katie who said it's that time
- 13:10Speaker 5: of year where a cost co membership is one hundred
- 13:14Speaker 5: and thirty dollars for executive, but you can get cash
- 13:17Speaker 5: back on it to reduce the cost of your annual fee,
- 13:19Speaker 5: which is not something I'd ever thought about looking for.
- 13:21Speaker 5: If you're someone who has a cost Co membership, apparently
- 13:24Speaker 5: you can access cash back to reduce it.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Really one hundred and thirty dollars.
- 13:27Speaker 5: That's the executive membership, which, if I'm being honest, I
- 13:29Speaker 5: don't really know what that means.
- 13:31Speaker 4: That sounds bougie for somebody shopping at She's goad.
- 13:34Speaker 5: All that is sixty five dollars for a normal oh,
- 13:37Speaker 5: with no incentives paid off. So I'm not too sure.
- 13:41Speaker 5: I'm not entirely sure. But she said she got ninety
- 13:43Speaker 5: six dollars cash back. Oh okay, I don't know.
- 13:47Speaker 2: So maybe that from one thirty that's a good deal. Yeah,
- 13:50Speaker 2: so of that look to know, I'm a little skimned
- 13:52Speaker 2: on the details.
- 13:53Speaker 5: But all I'm saying is you have a cost Co membership,
- 13:54Speaker 5: or you want to look into a cost Co membership.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Now it's the time to shine.
- 13:57Speaker 5: Yeah, I have a look for some cash back because
- 13:59Speaker 5: that's a great deal to me. Next, I've got a
- 14:01Speaker 5: money win from Meil who said she's trying to make
- 14:04Speaker 5: an extra thousand dollars by Christmas. Guys, there's only ninety
- 14:09Speaker 5: two days until Christmas. I'm sure.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that's disgusting, just for go to get about it.
- 14:14Speaker 2: The Christmas decoration throughout the shops.
- 14:16Speaker 5: So do as Mal is doing, Start thinking, start saving
- 14:18Speaker 5: if you haven't already. She said, She's banked two hundred
- 14:20Speaker 5: and seventy three bucks this week from a combo of
- 14:22Speaker 5: marketplace sales and surveys.
- 14:25Speaker 4: I'm going to railroad this completely. Should we be inspired
- 14:28Speaker 4: by Meil and get a like one thousand dollars saving
- 14:32Speaker 4: tracker up so that people can save one thousand dollars
- 14:35Speaker 4: before Christmas? Definitely, they even work towards it, Like we're
- 14:40Speaker 4: not talking like, you know, make a savings plan and
- 14:42Speaker 4: just direct debit it, like we're gonna find it, we're
- 14:44Speaker 4: gonna hustle it up, we're gonna like depop it, we're
- 14:46Speaker 4: gonna Facebook marketplace that, we're gonna do some surveys like
- 14:49Speaker 4: but we'll all try and get to one thousand dollars
- 14:52Speaker 4: before Christmas. And even if you don't get to one
- 14:54Speaker 4: thousand dollars and you're only able to find fifty bucks,
- 14:56Speaker 4: like that's fifty dollars you didn't have before Christmas, and
- 14:59Speaker 4: like that's gonna help too.
- 15:00Speaker 2: So true that's actually great.
- 15:02Speaker 4: I am going to get a little sheet together. We're
- 15:05Speaker 4: going to do this and it will be in our
- 15:07Speaker 4: Facebook group today.
- 15:10Speaker 2: There you go.
- 15:10Speaker 5: Everybody's going to have a little look sie for that
- 15:12Speaker 5: because it'll be here before you know it. Next, I've
- 15:15Speaker 5: got a money win from Shanade who said money win.
- 15:18Speaker 5: My local fruit market had a case of jam strawberries,
- 15:22Speaker 5: which is eighteen punnets for ten dollars. What she picked
- 15:27Speaker 5: the best punnets for fresh eating and then made a
- 15:29Speaker 5: batch with the rest of homemade jam.
- 15:30Speaker 2: That's so cute.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Also coming into Christmas, so that would be a really
- 15:35Speaker 4: cute present. Yeah, that's quite Cutely imagine if someone gifted
- 15:38Speaker 4: your homemade jam.
- 15:40Speaker 2: That was so sweet?
- 15:42Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 15:42Speaker 2: Literally, Also ever made jam?
- 15:44Speaker 4: Maybe I should make jam?
- 15:46Speaker 6: Yeah, I think we should be making jams because it's
- 15:48Speaker 6: like it's such a sweet gesture, isn't It's like you're
- 15:50Speaker 6: over the.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Stove, yeah, for hours.
- 15:53Speaker 5: And the little jars are so cute. So you can
- 15:55Speaker 5: make a little label strawberries.
- 15:56Speaker 4: I love cheap money win, but like, do we have
- 15:59Speaker 4: faced jams? I'm a raspberry kind of goal.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I'm strawberry, Yeah, strawberry as well.
- 16:05Speaker 4: See we always have strawberry and raspberry in my house
- 16:07Speaker 4: because I always have raspberry and my husband's like el
- 16:09Speaker 4: raspberry only eats strawberry.
- 16:11Speaker 2: The chunks freak me out. All of it freaks me out.
- 16:14Speaker 5: Or if you had something a little left of center
- 16:15Speaker 5: of BlackBerry jam, it's.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Quite nice, Okay, but that's really expecs pineapple can't really find.
- 16:24Speaker 2: It's like favorite, but she's like one thousand years old.
- 16:29Speaker 2: You leave her alone.
- 16:31Speaker 5: You cake whatever you want, buy it cheap, make the jam,
- 16:33Speaker 5: you preserve it a last start now and by Christmas
- 16:36Speaker 5: you'll have had plenty of time to make them all.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Yes out of ten. Love that. That's a great one.
- 16:42Speaker 5: And lastly, this week I have money win from Emma
- 16:44Speaker 5: who said it's a current money loss, but a future
- 16:46Speaker 5: money win. She said, thanks to she's in the money
- 16:49Speaker 5: and listening to the show, she became aware of the
- 16:51Speaker 5: hit that her superannuation took when she took a year
- 16:54Speaker 5: off of work for maternity leave. So she worked out
- 16:58Speaker 5: what she would have added to her to be she
- 17:00Speaker 5: had been working during that time, and she's working at
- 17:03Speaker 5: effectively paying it back. So she's just started doing it
- 17:06Speaker 5: with pre tax contributions through her work, as well as
- 17:09Speaker 5: chucking any extra money in like a tax return and
- 17:11Speaker 5: stuff like that, and she's going to keep working await
- 17:14Speaker 5: until she pays back that full year.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I'm obsessed. Yeah, what a queen.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Can you imagine how far ahead she's going to be
- 17:20Speaker 4: when she retires, Like, just oh, the impact of that.
- 17:23Speaker 4: And I know that she probably calculated and was like,
- 17:25Speaker 4: all right, so you know with twelve months off, you know,
- 17:28Speaker 4: the average person you know probably contributes anywhere between six
- 17:31Speaker 4: and ten thousand dollars to Super each year. Like you go, oh,
- 17:35Speaker 4: maybe that's not the biggest deal ever, but that could
- 17:38Speaker 4: compound over your lifestyle, that could compound over your lifetime,
- 17:43Speaker 4: and by the time you retire, it's probably worth more
- 17:45Speaker 4: than one hundred grand. Like, can you imagine being like
- 17:47Speaker 4: beck by making a decision today, you're gonna have like
- 17:50Speaker 4: another six figures in your Super.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Yeah, you're just so signy well done. I love this.
- 17:55Speaker 2: I love it.
- 17:56Speaker 5: That's it for me this week.
- 17:57Speaker 4: All right, Well, the tables are turning back.
- 18:00Speaker 2: It is your time to shine. What are you broke tears?
- 18:03Speaker 2: What are you bringing to the table? Okay, so I
- 18:05Speaker 2: notice a bit rogue, but I do have one from
- 18:07Speaker 2: the car. I did not see this.
- 18:11Speaker 6: For surprises, one from the community that's new, one for
- 18:14Speaker 6: myself that's like semi new. And then I also thought,
- 18:17Speaker 6: because a few people email me or sorry, I should
- 18:20Speaker 6: say message me. Email is very I don't know it's
- 18:23Speaker 6: still current. Anyway, someone messaged me about a few things
- 18:27Speaker 6: that I have mentioned before, so I thought i'd just
- 18:28Speaker 6: give them a shout out as a combined community broke.
- 18:35Speaker 2: You know what, it's your segment.
- 18:36Speaker 4: You do whatever makes your heart happy.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 18:40Speaker 6: So this one comes from a multitude of people, so Libby.
- 18:44Speaker 6: As we have mentioned, it's a audiobook subscription from your
- 18:49Speaker 6: local library free audiobooks.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Great, great Great. I do want to also give another
- 18:53Speaker 2: shout out to eat club.
- 18:55Speaker 6: I know it's been a while since I mentioned it,
- 18:56Speaker 6: but a club is an app where you can you'll
- 18:58Speaker 6: be able to put your location in there. It will
- 19:00Speaker 6: search for cheap specials around you from like you know, restaurants,
- 19:04Speaker 6: take away all this stuff like really cheap food. Great
- 19:07Speaker 6: great great. Those are the main two I wanted to mention,
- 19:09Speaker 6: So I'm gonna there are a few others in here
- 19:11Speaker 6: that have popped up a few times, but I'll save
- 19:14Speaker 6: those for next week.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Now.
- 19:17Speaker 6: The new one we have comes from Maddie. Maddie says,
- 19:22Speaker 6: the more air that's in your fuel tank, the fast
- 19:24Speaker 6: you petrol will evaporate. So to get most out of
- 19:26Speaker 6: your fuel, regularly top it up rather than letting it
- 19:29Speaker 6: drop to almost empty. I did hear about this once
- 19:31Speaker 6: years ago. I was like, oh, it makes sense if
- 19:34Speaker 6: if there's more in there, yeah, tank, I mean, I'm
- 19:40Speaker 6: happy to save money. And it's always like rogue things
- 19:44Speaker 6: like that where don't get me wrong. I feel like
- 19:47Speaker 6: in this economy, anyone who has a full petrol tank is.
- 19:50Speaker 2: To check their privilege.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Like, if you're filling up your entire tank, like you
- 19:55Speaker 4: must be financially doing much better than most people. Totally,
- 19:58Speaker 4: Like that's a good position to be. But if you
- 20:00Speaker 4: can build it up over time and then you know,
- 20:04Speaker 4: consistently I had ten or twenty dollars worth of fuel
- 20:07Speaker 4: as you go, but try and keep it up instead
- 20:09Speaker 4: of letting it go all the way down to when
- 20:11Speaker 4: it dings at you and you're like, I know you're
- 20:13Speaker 4: not done. I know you're not done. I see you
- 20:16Speaker 4: had to put fuel in me, but I know there's
- 20:19Speaker 4: at least fifty k's there. I can see you.
- 20:21Speaker 5: I was laughing when you were saying it, because I
- 20:23Speaker 5: consistently will drive on zero like I have because r
- 20:27Speaker 5: ACV like three times because I see, which I know
- 20:31Speaker 5: is really bad for your Cartlets don't company.
- 20:32Speaker 2: But like I was just having a little gigle.
- 20:34Speaker 6: I was like in my mind, I was like, I
- 20:37Speaker 6: think my eyes are playing like one of them probably
- 20:40Speaker 6: sometimes looks bigger than the other one I'm reading.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I was like, Jess is laughing at my looking at
- 20:45Speaker 2: your no.
- 20:46Speaker 5: I was just literally imagine like remembering last week when
- 20:50Speaker 5: I drove like all the way to the city of zero,
- 20:54Speaker 5: living life.
- 20:55Speaker 2: On the edge.
- 20:56Speaker 4: Also, like that's from somebody who I know has a
- 20:59Speaker 4: very good in cash flow.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Sister.
- 21:01Speaker 5: Yes, it's like shocked that this is coming from me,
- 21:03Speaker 5: Like of all people I know, she's got the cash
- 21:06Speaker 5: for her fuel.
- 21:06Speaker 4: It's been set aside for the last six years.
- 21:09Speaker 6: I know, it's been totally You never go to the
- 21:11Speaker 6: petrol station with like you know how it says like
- 21:13Speaker 6: a minimum two leaders. Yeah, so many times I've done
- 21:16Speaker 6: that minimum two leaders. It has been like two dollars
- 21:18Speaker 6: twenty five cents, and I have it in the and
- 21:20Speaker 6: I have to walk up and be like, I always
- 21:22Speaker 6: left my wallet at home.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Really, I just this is all I wanted.
- 21:25Speaker 6: This is like, so if you need to pop up
- 21:28Speaker 6: your fuel one time, if you have the money one time,
- 21:31Speaker 6: and then just.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Try and keep go there with like five bucks, just
- 21:34Speaker 2: try and keep it up top.
- 21:36Speaker 6: So that way, it's also good for an emergency because
- 21:38Speaker 6: you're like, oh, I have no money this week, You're like, cool,
- 21:40Speaker 6: I actually have a full taker petrol.
- 21:42Speaker 2: So it's like it's a double twin win.
- 21:44Speaker 4: One thing that I will say has been helpful for
- 21:46Speaker 4: a few friends of mine who are not so good at,
- 21:49Speaker 4: you know, managing their money and their budget.
- 21:50Speaker 2: And their cash flow.
- 21:52Speaker 4: I've got a girlfriend who whenever she has some extra
- 21:55Speaker 4: cash in her bank account, because she just knows that
- 21:58Speaker 4: she's going to blow through it. I feel like she
- 22:00Speaker 4: gives beck vibes like she just and that's not a
- 22:03Speaker 4: bad thing. You just have to be aware of how
- 22:05Speaker 4: you're managing money. If she goes to the checkout, she
- 22:08Speaker 4: also buys a gift card for like ten or twenty
- 22:11Speaker 4: dollars and sticks it in her center console so that
- 22:14Speaker 4: when the time comes and she knows she can't afford fuel,
- 22:18Speaker 4: or she doesn't have cash in the bank. She's like,
- 22:20Speaker 4: I know, there's maybe like twenty or thirty dollars with
- 22:22Speaker 4: gift cards that I can use to pay.
- 22:25Speaker 2: For fuel in my center console.
- 22:27Speaker 4: So like that, I feel like it's a good little hack. Yeah,
- 22:30Speaker 4: it's not necessarily going to save you heaps of money,
- 22:32Speaker 4: but if you're the type of person that just runs
- 22:34Speaker 4: your bank account into the ground and you're always struggling
- 22:37Speaker 4: to keep the fuel going, that might be a hack
- 22:40Speaker 4: that works for you.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Totally. I think that's a really really good idea.
- 22:44Speaker 4: You can just hide it away and then you forget
- 22:46Speaker 4: about it, and then when you're desperate, you're like, good.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Oh my god, there is actually ten bucks there, Like
- 22:50Speaker 2: how good is that good? When that happens? And then
- 22:53Speaker 2: my one comes from myself an indie.
- 22:56Speaker 6: You guys are he'll love You'll in producer every now
- 22:59Speaker 6: and then she was talking about bi carb. I have
- 23:01Speaker 6: mentioned by car before that she was talking about how
- 23:03Speaker 6: she had like I don't want to shame her, but
- 23:05Speaker 6: she had an odor in her laund room, so she
- 23:08Speaker 6: put some bike carb on the lounge.
- 23:10Speaker 4: Indy, how's your stinky lounge, stinky.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Lound room going?
- 23:14Speaker 6: And She put it on her carpet on the lounge
- 23:16Speaker 6: and she just left overnight and then soaks everything, soaks
- 23:20Speaker 6: everything up, and then she just vacuumed it off and
- 23:21Speaker 6: it's completely gone.
- 23:22Speaker 2: She said. So it works for like laundry detergent.
- 23:24Speaker 6: You chuck some essential oils in with the laundry and
- 23:27Speaker 6: your bi car, but that's all you need. It's a
- 23:29Speaker 6: good carpet cleaner, lounge cleaner, turns out car cleaner. Everything
- 23:33Speaker 6: like it is off walls as well.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Yes, and you chuck some lemon in there, you clean
- 23:38Speaker 2: your sink and all that kind of stuff. God's great,
- 23:41Speaker 2: but I know that are.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Good for cleaning like fabrics and carpets and stuff. Yes,
- 23:46Speaker 4: comes up on my TikTok for you page all the time.
- 23:49Speaker 3: All the time.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Speaking of TikTok, Actually this is like a it's not
- 23:53Speaker 4: a segment, but it might become a segment. It's things.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Victoria d m.
- 23:57Speaker 4: To Jessica this week, I love that, And it's always rogue.
- 24:01Speaker 4: It might be about racket club, it might be about
- 24:03Speaker 4: saving some money. This week it was about tubleware, because
- 24:07Speaker 4: we've seen all over the news that tupleware has gone
- 24:10Speaker 4: into liquidation in the us in the US, We do you.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Mean that's rand.
- 24:15Speaker 4: Yeah, the brandy that's obviously going to filter down to
- 24:19Speaker 4: Australia in some way, shape or form. And I think
- 24:22Speaker 4: it is because my TikTok for You page is full
- 24:26Speaker 4: of girls going to the reject shop and buying tubleware
- 24:30Speaker 4: containers for like three dollars fifty four dollars fifty like
- 24:34Speaker 4: reasonable prices. And I wanted to mention it because I
- 24:37Speaker 4: feel like when you're trying to save money, you're always
- 24:40Speaker 4: buying the cheap things, like you might buy cheap Kmart
- 24:43Speaker 4: tublewear containers that don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with them,
- 24:46Speaker 4: but we all know that they don't last. Jessica a
- 24:50Speaker 4: couple of weeks ago. A couple of weeks ago, we're
- 24:52Speaker 4: telling me a lot. Yeah, it's interest in our community.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Tell me about your ask cooker.
- 25:00Speaker 5: So I have a rice cooker that it's like, it's
- 25:03Speaker 5: really cool. It's a tupware contraption. You put it in
- 25:05Speaker 5: your microwave. It's take you cook christ genius. I've never
- 25:07Speaker 5: once know that's like, I've cooked rice on my stove
- 25:09Speaker 5: once and I've burnt it. So love this thing. But
- 25:11Speaker 5: I got it from my mum's friends mule you splong
- 25:16Speaker 5: to my mum's friend's mumy she's rolled. Yeah, she's been
- 25:19Speaker 5: some star generation of women to own this tubeway of rice.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Wow.
- 25:22Speaker 5: Still works like a treat and it goes to the
- 25:24Speaker 5: micwave at least three times a week.
- 25:26Speaker 4: But even though we don't love how expensive Tupeway usually is,
- 25:29Speaker 4: Like we're talking like thirty forty dollars a container, Like
- 25:32Speaker 4: it's insane, Like I would never purchase at full price,
- 25:35Speaker 4: but you're telling me it's like three dollars fifty or
- 25:37Speaker 4: four dollars fifty or whatever. At the reject shop right now,
- 25:41Speaker 4: I can buy some stuff that I'm going to have
- 25:43Speaker 4: that can go through the dishwasher that's not going to.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Break or crack.
- 25:46Speaker 4: Like money win. If you're looking to buy some tupware
- 25:50Speaker 4: that is good quality.
- 25:51Speaker 2: And that's going to last, Yes, and I feel like
- 25:54Speaker 2: that's all colors. Yeah, Real Cues exactly.
- 25:57Speaker 6: Had not a single clue Tupperware was not universally called
- 26:02Speaker 6: Tupwaar Topway is the brand.
- 26:03Speaker 5: Have you seen those posts where it runs you through
- 26:06Speaker 5: like all the things that we call.
- 26:08Speaker 2: So it's like, yeah, glad Rap's a good one. Yeah, avel.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Glad Rap is not glad Rap film. Really it's a cooler.
- 26:19Speaker 5: But we call like especially Ozzie's called them Esquesski's the brand.
- 26:22Speaker 5: There's a there's a post was tiktokal Instagram, but it
- 26:25Speaker 5: broke down a bunch of it was so interesting. Anyway, Yeah,
- 26:28Speaker 5: your financial Yeah, let's go to a break.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Just consend you that.
- 26:31Speaker 4: And on the flip side, we're going to be talking
- 26:33Speaker 4: about paying for your egg freezing, how to do that,
- 26:36Speaker 4: what that looks like, and we're going to talk about
- 26:38Speaker 4: something a little bit spicier that you slid into our
- 26:40Speaker 4: DMS about this week, we're going to be answering the
- 26:43Speaker 4: question about whether you should be buying property with a
- 26:45Speaker 4: family member or not. So guys, don't go anywhere.
- 26:52Speaker 5: Welcome back everyone. Let's take a listen to this week's
- 26:55Speaker 5: money dilemma.
- 26:58Speaker 4: Hi, there, have you got a money to you just
- 27:00Speaker 4: can't solve that. She's on the Money Team is here
- 27:03Speaker 4: to help. Every week we tackle your dilemmas, both big
- 27:06Speaker 4: and small, to answer your most burning money, career and
- 27:09Speaker 4: life questions. To get involved, simply head to our website
- 27:12Speaker 4: and leave us a short voice recording and you might
- 27:14Speaker 4: just find yourself on the show. Now, let's take a
- 27:17Speaker 4: listen to this week's money dilemma.
- 27:21Speaker 7: Hi, she's on the Money team. I'm in a little
- 27:24Speaker 7: bit of a pickle and I wanted to get your thoughts.
- 27:27Speaker 7: So I'm about to start doing a creezing for medical reasons,
- 27:30Speaker 7: and my doctor is thinking I'm going to need at
- 27:34Speaker 7: least two rounds to get the result that we're hoping
- 27:36Speaker 7: for with this. Each round is about twelve thousand dollars
- 27:40Speaker 7: each before I get any rebates back. My partner is
- 27:44Speaker 7: paying half because we're a team and we're doing this
- 27:47Speaker 7: for our future. So what I'm trying to weigh up
- 27:51Speaker 7: is do I take it out of my super and
- 27:54Speaker 7: put it back in as my rebates come in and
- 27:58Speaker 7: as a salary sacrifice to make it up, I do
- 28:01Speaker 7: have over one hundred thousand dollars in my super. Or
- 28:05Speaker 7: do I take out a twelvemonth interest free loan that
- 28:07Speaker 7: I'm eligible for, but then that also pushes us back
- 28:11Speaker 7: finally having a holiday next year. So I wanted to
- 28:14Speaker 7: get your thoughts and the pros and cons. Thanks.
- 28:18Speaker 4: I have like technical things to add about that, But
- 28:21Speaker 4: what do you guys think?
- 28:23Speaker 6: Well, I just know that I have a friend who
- 28:27Speaker 6: works in super and always.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Says, never take your money out of super.
- 28:30Speaker 4: Did you listen to your friend who said never take
- 28:32Speaker 4: your money out of super when you took your money
- 28:34Speaker 4: out of Superman?
- 28:36Speaker 6: I did not listen to my friend. And now, well,
- 28:40Speaker 6: I'm not kicking myself yet, but I do know, you know,
- 28:42Speaker 6: compound interests, all this other stuff, it will eventually be well,
- 28:45Speaker 6: work it at different, thank you so much, It'll be fun.
- 28:48Speaker 2: But at the same time, I don't know.
- 28:52Speaker 6: I think that I would both personally go the loan,
- 28:55Speaker 6: but I thinks I'm also not very Why would you.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Go the loan though, like work shopping?
- 29:00Speaker 4: It not because I'm like, oh, give advice back, like,
- 29:02Speaker 4: and it's not to make totally totally silly either, it's
- 29:05Speaker 4: literally like why would you do that? Because obviously she's
- 29:07Speaker 4: having this thought process as well, like why would she
- 29:10Speaker 4: be weighing it up if she didn't see value in it?
- 29:11Speaker 2: Of course, I.
- 29:12Speaker 6: Think like interest free always gets me hook line and sinker.
- 29:15Speaker 2: I'm not even questioning anything, which.
- 29:17Speaker 6: Is really bad, but I'm like cool interest free. It's like,
- 29:19Speaker 6: I have the money that I like, if I could
- 29:22Speaker 6: save a thousand dollars. For example, in five weeks, which.
- 29:25Speaker 4: We're going to before Christmas our savings challenge, which I'm
- 29:29Speaker 4: super stoked about.
- 29:30Speaker 6: Anyway, I'm going to try to do that, and I
- 29:32Speaker 6: five weeks, I saved one thousand dollars. It's like that
- 29:35Speaker 6: future me that has that money in that amount of
- 29:38Speaker 6: time is just I'm just getting all that now, and
- 29:40Speaker 6: I'm like paying, you know what I mean? It feels
- 29:42Speaker 6: like if there's no interest, it feels like it's I'm
- 29:45Speaker 6: borrowing from the savings that I would have saved from myself.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Do you know what I mean?
- 29:50Speaker 4: No, I totally get it. So Super does feel like
- 29:53Speaker 4: more complicated.
- 29:54Speaker 6: Yeah, because like interest, it's growing interest while it's in
- 29:57Speaker 6: there or something.
- 29:58Speaker 2: And so I'm like, I maybe I want to leave that.
- 30:00Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Agreed, Agreed, Jess, how are you feeling about it?
- 30:03Speaker 2: I actually agree.
- 30:04Speaker 5: I think for me the cost benefit is, you know, obviously,
- 30:08Speaker 5: when you take the money out of Super, depending on
- 30:09Speaker 5: how long it takes you to pay it back, Let's
- 30:11Speaker 5: assume that it's on the same timeline. So taking out
- 30:13Speaker 5: interest free your card for a YAR versus having your
- 30:16Speaker 5: money out of Super free YAR generally speaking with the
- 30:18Speaker 5: interest free card, assuming you are responsible enough to pay
- 30:22Speaker 5: it back, because I've had an interest free card and
- 30:23Speaker 5: I didn't pay any extra money when I had that.
- 30:26Speaker 5: Assuming you are responsible and you will pay it back
- 30:28Speaker 5: on time, generally speaking, you just pay like an annual
- 30:31Speaker 5: or monthly fee. And I don't know if the case
- 30:34Speaker 5: for your card, but when I did it, it was
- 30:36Speaker 5: relatively nominal, and I would imagine. I mean, the way
- 30:38Speaker 5: that I would work it out is I would just
- 30:40Speaker 5: compare the approximate amount of money you would lose on
- 30:42Speaker 5: your super from compounding interest over the twelve months versus
- 30:45Speaker 5: the money you paid for the fee. My best guess though,
- 30:48Speaker 5: is that the interest free card would be cheaper, which
- 30:51Speaker 5: is why I would go for it. But it only
- 30:53Speaker 5: works if you pay it back on time, because the
- 30:54Speaker 5: interest on twenty four thousand dollars of IVF would be
- 30:59Speaker 5: I would imagine astronomical. M tell us the actual anthiaty.
- 31:04Speaker 4: There's not an actual answer, and it goes back to
- 31:07Speaker 4: what you were saying, Beck and Jess. Like Jess, you
- 31:10Speaker 4: were like, well, if you can be responsible with paying
- 31:13Speaker 4: back the interest free loan, like that's a no brainer.
- 31:16Speaker 4: But for me, the interest free loan carries a little
- 31:18Speaker 4: bit of risk, right, Like I can't guarantee what financial
- 31:21Speaker 4: position you'll be in in twelve months, and what happens if,
- 31:26Speaker 4: hypothetically these rounds are not successful and you need to
- 31:29Speaker 4: take out more and more money Because, like, I get it,
- 31:32Speaker 4: I desperately wanted kids and I was in the very
- 31:34Speaker 4: very blessed position to be able to get pregnant without intervention.
- 31:39Speaker 4: So that's a money win for me. But like I
- 31:41Speaker 4: know that if I did one round of IVF and
- 31:43Speaker 4: it wasn't successful, I'd be lining up for the next one,
- 31:45Speaker 4: Like I knew that kids were part of my journey,
- 31:48Speaker 4: So I get it. But what does that look like
- 31:52Speaker 4: long term? Like if in twelve months, and I mean
- 31:54Speaker 4: I'm probably reading into this, you're saying if you take
- 31:57Speaker 4: the loan, you might not go on a holiday, Like
- 31:59Speaker 4: I'm a you mean you don't have a massive emergency fund. Yes,
- 32:02Speaker 4: you've got one hundred thousand dollars in super Like there's
- 32:04Speaker 4: a lot to weigh up. The other thing I want
- 32:07Speaker 4: to kind of like segue off and talk about is
- 32:10Speaker 4: do you guys know why credit card companies or loan
- 32:14Speaker 4: companies offer zero percent loans?
- 32:16Speaker 5: Because they assume that people won't pay it back and
- 32:18Speaker 5: the interest. I think the interest on my interest free
- 32:21Speaker 5: card if I did jump my pay money for twenty
- 32:23Speaker 5: four percent, yeah, I think it was like about twenty percent. Ye. Wow,
- 32:26Speaker 5: again if it's on twenty something thousand dollars, that's a
- 32:29Speaker 5: lot of money.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:31Speaker 4: So companies or institutions that lend money offer you these
- 32:35Speaker 4: interest free loans for true reasons. So Jess has hit
- 32:38Speaker 4: the nail on the head. Obviously, high interest once that
- 32:42Speaker 4: twelve month period ends, so it'll jump to like twenty percent,
- 32:45Speaker 4: which is much more than like a personal loan or
- 32:48Speaker 4: a secured loan that you might have gotten in any
- 32:51Speaker 4: other way. The other reason is customer acquisition, so they
- 32:55Speaker 4: want more customers. Obviously, getting somebody to change who they
- 32:58Speaker 4: bank with is actually big deal. Like I can almost
- 33:01Speaker 4: guarantee that most of you are currently with the bank
- 33:04Speaker 4: that you set your first bank account up with, because
- 33:08Speaker 4: why would you change to another bank unless you know,
- 33:11Speaker 4: you went to an ing or you went to an
- 33:13Speaker 4: up bank who had significant customer acquisition value, So either
- 33:18Speaker 4: you really liked the app or you had a really
- 33:20Speaker 4: high interest rate on a savings account. There was like
- 33:23Speaker 4: a reason that you changed. It wasn't just like, oh,
- 33:25Speaker 4: I probably should one day sit down and review my
- 33:28Speaker 4: banking and finance and just pick the right bank for me.
- 33:31Speaker 4: Like people don't often do that. So two reasons. One,
- 33:35Speaker 4: they'll get new clients, but they'll also probably have you
- 33:38Speaker 4: not meet that twelvemonth interest free period. There. I won't
- 33:43Speaker 4: say praying on, but I just did the fact that
- 33:46Speaker 4: people are inherently not good at managing their money, and
- 33:50Speaker 4: that's why I'm scared of these things. It's not because
- 33:53Speaker 4: that's not a good idea. And if I sat down
- 33:55Speaker 4: and I use Jess as an example, because I know
- 33:57Speaker 4: and Jess, it's not a bad thing. It's a bloody
- 33:59Speaker 4: good thing. You're so good at money management. It comes in.
- 34:03Speaker 4: I know her system because it's the one I built
- 34:06Speaker 4: if she did the money master class. But I know
- 34:08Speaker 4: your money comes in. It's either automated or she manually
- 34:11Speaker 4: goes in and transfers her cash around. I know what
- 34:13Speaker 4: that looks like. I know Jess has a really good
- 34:15Speaker 4: emergency fund. I know she's always cared about her super
- 34:18Speaker 4: Because I know her situation so deeply, I could say, Jess,
- 34:22Speaker 4: I wouldn't actually have an issue with you getting a
- 34:24Speaker 4: twelve month interest free loan for something if you knew
- 34:27Speaker 4: that you wouldn't go over budget or you wouldn't keep
- 34:29Speaker 4: adding to it, like okay, pretty much a non issue
- 34:32Speaker 4: for someone like Jess. I don't know this diarist. I
- 34:35Speaker 4: don't know who's written in. I don't know what you're
- 34:37Speaker 4: like when it comes to managing money, Like there are
- 34:39Speaker 4: a few things that kind of sent a few red
- 34:41Speaker 4: flags about the holiday, Like you said, if I take
- 34:44Speaker 4: the interest free loan, then we won't have a holiday
- 34:46Speaker 4: next year. And I'm wondering why that might be, because
- 34:50Speaker 4: if you've got a loan but you've also budgeted for
- 34:54Speaker 4: a holiday, why couldn't you go on that Is it
- 34:56Speaker 4: because you're paying it back or is it because you
- 34:58Speaker 4: know you were planning on taking loan out to go
- 35:01Speaker 4: on a holiday, Like I just there's so many things
- 35:04Speaker 4: that I want to understand. But let's pretend it's all
- 35:06Speaker 4: very cut and dry and you're in a very just situation.
- 35:09Speaker 4: You are correct, the interest free loan might make sense,
- 35:12Speaker 4: but I want you to create a plan to pay
- 35:14Speaker 4: it back, like even a savings plan from the day
- 35:18Speaker 4: that you take out that loan to smash out that.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Debt early, right.
- 35:22Speaker 4: But the other thing is, and I want to open
- 35:25Speaker 4: this conversation up and go off here, is that so
- 35:28Speaker 4: many people don't know that to pay for your fertility treatments,
- 35:31Speaker 4: you actually have access to supranuation. So for egg freezing,
- 35:34Speaker 4: for IVF, if you've got any type of health complication
- 35:38Speaker 4: that you currently can't pay for, very likely that you
- 35:41Speaker 4: could draw on your supranuation. I was saying to somebody
- 35:44Speaker 4: the other day when they were asking me about a
- 35:46Speaker 4: breast reduction, I was like, did you know you could
- 35:47Speaker 4: access your supranuation for that? And they said no, I
- 35:50Speaker 4: had no idea. And that's another reason why we need
- 35:53Speaker 4: to be having these conversations, so that you're like, uh,
- 35:56Speaker 4: maybe I'm not going to use this information, but I
- 35:58Speaker 4: might go to breakfast with a friend, or I might
- 35:59Speaker 4: catch up with a friend for a coffee and she
- 36:01Speaker 4: mentioned something and I can help her financially because I
- 36:04Speaker 4: have more knowledge, Like knowledge is power, and the more
- 36:07Speaker 4: we know, the more we can help each other but
- 36:09Speaker 4: also help ourselves. So, yes, you can access your super
- 36:13Speaker 4: I would weigh up what that looks like for me
- 36:15Speaker 4: if I wasn't that good at money and I knew
- 36:19Speaker 4: that maybe I might get in a little bit of
- 36:21Speaker 4: a pickle with an interest free loan. Yes, you're losing
- 36:24Speaker 4: some compounding in your super. But what you can do
- 36:27Speaker 4: is go to your employer and say, hey, can you
- 36:29Speaker 4: please increase my superannuation contributions so that I can get
- 36:34Speaker 4: back in line with what I'm taking out. You don't
- 36:36Speaker 4: even have to tell your employer why. You just say, hey,
- 36:38Speaker 4: i'd like to bump it up one percent for the
- 36:40Speaker 4: next twelve months. I'd like to bump it up three
- 36:42Speaker 4: percent or whatever that looks like, to make sure that
- 36:45Speaker 4: if you're going to draw down on your superbalance, you
- 36:48Speaker 4: don't ultimately end up behind. So there's obviously a few
- 36:52Speaker 4: moving parts. There's obviously like a good argument for why
- 36:56Speaker 4: you'd take an interest free loan, but also a good
- 36:58Speaker 4: argument for why you might go into super and new way.
- 37:00Speaker 4: And that is a question I can't answer for you.
- 37:02Speaker 4: I can just give you the information, and you need
- 37:04Speaker 4: to make the decision that makes the most sense for
- 37:06Speaker 4: you and your family.
- 37:07Speaker 5: Pushing lots of luck on your IVF Joenny and yeah,
- 37:10Speaker 5: exciting and a lot to take on one.
- 37:12Speaker 4: And egg freezing is just so smart, Like I just
- 37:16Speaker 4: I love being alive in twenty twenty four, Like, we
- 37:18Speaker 4: can just do stuff.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I just freeze time. Can you imagine me.
- 37:22Speaker 4: Going back and like talking to my grandma in the
- 37:24Speaker 4: nineteen fifties when she was having babies and being like,
- 37:26Speaker 4: by the way, one day people are going to be
- 37:29Speaker 4: able to freeze their eggs and have babies later in life.
- 37:31Speaker 2: She'd be like, sorry, what so cool?
- 37:33Speaker 4: Get it in all right, let's move on because we
- 37:36Speaker 4: have a community DM that I think you guys are
- 37:38Speaker 4: going to have some opinions about, and I love that
- 37:39Speaker 4: for us.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Would you like me to read it out? Absolutely right?
- 37:43Speaker 2: So high.
- 37:44Speaker 4: She's on the money money dilemma. I'm thinking about purchasing
- 37:47Speaker 4: my first home with my brother to help increase our
- 37:49Speaker 4: buying power. He currently is in a de facto relationship
- 37:52Speaker 4: with his really lovely girlfriend. To be eligible for first
- 37:55Speaker 4: home buyers, we would be living in this property for
- 37:58Speaker 4: twelve months. I'm worried about the possibility of his relationship
- 38:02Speaker 4: breaking down and what that could mean for a joint asset.
- 38:05Speaker 4: It's going to be a hard conversation to have.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Would you risk it? Oh, that's a great question.
- 38:11Speaker 6: I actually shocking have not a single clue would you
- 38:15Speaker 6: buy would.
- 38:16Speaker 2: You buy property with your brothers?
- 38:17Speaker 6: I probably would buy property with my brother because he's
- 38:21Speaker 6: very very good financially, and so I.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Always like a.
- 38:28Speaker 6: Buy property with me, absolutely, But so I wouldn't get
- 38:34Speaker 6: a brother on the phone. I guess like there always
- 38:37Speaker 6: is that risk that, like you've especially I like you've
- 38:40Speaker 6: not lived with a sibling since you were children, you
- 38:44Speaker 6: don't know that he might actually get sick of them.
- 38:46Speaker 6: This is not even taking into consideration the de facto relationship.
- 38:50Speaker 6: This is purely just like living with a sibling. So
- 38:52Speaker 6: I think that risk is always there. So you have
- 38:54Speaker 6: to live in a place for twelve months before you
- 38:56Speaker 6: can get the.
- 38:57Speaker 4: The reason that they would be living in it for
- 38:59Speaker 4: twelve months is very likely to be because they want
- 39:02Speaker 4: to access the first home biased scheme. And to get
- 39:05Speaker 4: access to the first Home biased scheme, you need to
- 39:07Speaker 4: have it as your primary residence for twelve months after purchase.
- 39:11Speaker 6: Ah, So you don't get that immediately, that's shocking.
- 39:14Speaker 4: No, no, no, you get it, but you need to meet
- 39:16Speaker 4: the criteria to keep it Otherwise next tax here they're
- 39:19Speaker 4: going to come knocking and say, hey, so you didn't
- 39:22Speaker 4: do what you said you were going to do, and
- 39:23Speaker 4: we gave you this great benefit to move into a
- 39:25Speaker 4: house that you own, and you took the mickey.
- 39:29Speaker 6: Okay, well that's that's a really tricky one. I think
- 39:32Speaker 6: if it's purely just like you and your sibling, then
- 39:35Speaker 6: just like suck it up. But I guess that there
- 39:36Speaker 6: is that fear and I don't. I'm sure there's like
- 39:38Speaker 6: some legal thing with de facto relationship, like do they
- 39:41Speaker 6: have access to if they're de facto?
- 39:44Speaker 2: Yes they do. Yeah, that's where it gets asset not yours.
- 39:47Speaker 4: So that's used to to you know what, I'm going
- 39:49Speaker 4: to back out a little bit because I want to
- 39:51Speaker 4: know what Jess has to say before I do to Actually, I.
- 39:54Speaker 5: Mean, I personally would not do it, but I'm very
- 39:57Speaker 5: protective of my assets, and I think that it gets
- 40:01Speaker 5: complicated when you add somebody else in. I think it's
- 40:04Speaker 5: more complicated when you add in the de facto element
- 40:06Speaker 5: because as you are kind of alluding to that, she
- 40:09Speaker 5: has a claim on some portion of that, which just
- 40:11Speaker 5: makes it messier in my opinion. And I think as well,
- 40:14Speaker 5: the fact that you have to live together, it's going
- 40:16Speaker 5: to really depend on your relationship. But even if you
- 40:18Speaker 5: like someone a lot, it doesn't mean that you're going
- 40:20Speaker 5: to live well together, which can cause friction, and if
- 40:22Speaker 5: one of you needs to move out, then it kind
- 40:24Speaker 5: of cooks. As VD was saying the first home Ooner Grant.
- 40:27Speaker 5: So I think it's to me, it just feels messy,
- 40:30Speaker 5: and I personally wouldn't do it. But I also understand
- 40:33Speaker 5: that that might be the only way that you can
- 40:35Speaker 5: get a house, or the way you might feel like
- 40:38Speaker 5: it's the only way that you can get into a
- 40:39Speaker 5: house right now. And I fully understand, you know, the
- 40:42Speaker 5: desperation and the desire to get that done, and maybe
- 40:45Speaker 5: the opportunity cost of not buying now versus buying in
- 40:49Speaker 5: five years when you've had time to save your own deposit.
- 40:51Speaker 2: But I would.
- 40:53Speaker 5: Probably say, talk to a mortgage broker and see what
- 40:55Speaker 5: your options done on your own money.
- 40:58Speaker 4: Mortgage brand.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Absolutely you're both to Jack this morning? Oh teen, Yeah,
- 41:03Speaker 2: is there any updates? Yeah, I want to chut to
- 41:05Speaker 2: you after action.
- 41:07Speaker 5: So yeah, I would absolutelyttat to one of the Gillies
- 41:10Speaker 5: at Zala and see what your options are on your
- 41:12Speaker 5: own And I imagine it's.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Jack though Jack's I love it.
- 41:15Speaker 4: I mean, I love all the Gillies, I know, but
- 41:16Speaker 4: like Jack's been with me for the longest, and I
- 41:19Speaker 4: feel like, obviously all of our brokers are insane. But
- 41:22Speaker 4: I just I know that she was talking to you
- 41:24Speaker 4: before hours, Like I know that she was up at
- 41:26Speaker 4: the crack of dawn being like, so, Jess, this is
- 41:27Speaker 4: what I've been thinking you like, do you have a sleep.
- 41:31Speaker 5: So see where options are on your own, and then
- 41:34Speaker 5: what things could look like with your brother and his girlfriend.
- 41:38Speaker 5: But if, like my answer is if I would do it, no, personally,
- 41:42Speaker 5: that doesn't mean that it's a bad option, but I
- 41:44Speaker 5: would just explore all your options first, because I, as
- 41:47Speaker 5: someone who is planning on buying by herself, like it
- 41:50Speaker 5: is more feasible than you would think.
- 41:52Speaker 2: So one hundred percent.
- 41:53Speaker 4: I also want to touch on why you're buying with
- 41:56Speaker 4: a sibling. So obviously it increases your purchasing power, but
- 41:59Speaker 4: is that because you really want to get into the
- 42:00Speaker 4: market sooner instead of just waiting until you've got a
- 42:03Speaker 4: whole deposit or maybe you have a higher income or
- 42:07Speaker 4: you know you're in a position to buy on your own,
- 42:09Speaker 4: Because like as just said, you are probably going to
- 42:12Speaker 4: have a lot more power than you think you do.
- 42:14Speaker 4: But I don't like the idea that people are compromising
- 42:18Speaker 4: their long term financial security and their financial success long
- 42:22Speaker 4: term because they are trying to rush into something Like
- 42:26Speaker 4: a lot of people that I've spoken to historically that
- 42:28Speaker 4: are like, I really want to purchase with a family
- 42:29Speaker 4: member or a friend or whatever. It's because they just
- 42:32Speaker 4: really desperate to own property. And I just go, well,
- 42:35Speaker 4: let's just kind of zoom out. Is the big picture
- 42:39Speaker 4: you owning your own property? Okay, well, purchasing You know,
- 42:42Speaker 4: if Jess and I purchased one tomorrow, we're on different
- 42:45Speaker 4: life trajectories, Like she might want to dispose of it
- 42:48Speaker 4: sooner than me, and I don't. I want to hold
- 42:50Speaker 4: on to it and keep that rental income coming in.
- 42:52Speaker 4: Like it just creates problems down the line. So you
- 42:55Speaker 4: actually have to be on exactly the same page. So
- 42:58Speaker 4: you know, in the next one or two years, you
- 42:59Speaker 4: might go, no, it's not going to be a problem
- 43:00Speaker 4: at all. But like, Okay, what if he and his
- 43:03Speaker 4: partner get married and they have a kid, or what
- 43:05Speaker 4: if they unexpectedly have a kid and they need access
- 43:08Speaker 4: to finance and they need to sell the property. Are
- 43:11Speaker 4: you in a position where you can purchase your brother
- 43:13Speaker 4: outright of that property so that you don't lose anything
- 43:16Speaker 4: financially or you know, again, I'm just making up a
- 43:20Speaker 4: hypothetical situation, but you know it's one that could literally happen.
- 43:24Speaker 4: What if you're in the position where they go, we
- 43:27Speaker 4: are having a baby, this wasn't planned financially, We're going
- 43:30Speaker 4: to have to dispose of the house. And you go, oh,
- 43:34Speaker 4: I'm going to lose a whole heap of money as
- 43:35Speaker 4: well because we have to sell it a loss.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:38Speaker 4: Are you then going to have some animosity in that
- 43:41Speaker 4: relationship because your brother's forcing your hand? Are you going
- 43:44Speaker 4: to not feel good about that? Is there a backup plan?
- 43:47Speaker 4: What does that look like? The other thing I want
- 43:49Speaker 4: to talk about is joint tenancy versus tenants in common.
- 43:53Speaker 4: We have covered this in the Property Playbook, so if
- 43:55Speaker 4: you haven't listened to that podcast, Jess does an incredible
- 43:59Speaker 4: job of hopeing it and we talk about all the
- 44:01Speaker 4: nitty gritty, but essentially, in joint tenancy there's what's called
- 44:06Speaker 4: a rite of survivorship.
- 44:07Speaker 2: So essentially, if.
- 44:09Speaker 4: One tenant dies and I'm being a bit dramatic here,
- 44:12Speaker 4: but if one tenant dies, it automatically passes to the
- 44:14Speaker 4: other tenant because it is based off a de facto relationship.
- 44:19Speaker 4: So like, if I pass away, obviously I want my
- 44:21Speaker 4: house to go to my husband. But if I'm purchasing
- 44:24Speaker 4: with a sibling or a friend, I would want a
- 44:26Speaker 4: tenancy in common agreement, which means that two or more
- 44:29Speaker 4: people co own a property with defined shares. So I
- 44:33Speaker 4: could go in and be like, okay, Like Jess, maybe
- 44:35Speaker 4: you're purchasing seventy percent and I'm purchasing thirty percent. But
- 44:39Speaker 4: the additional benefit of that is that I can sell
- 44:42Speaker 4: my share without impacting Jess. We can actually get two
- 44:45Speaker 4: separate loans, so she can have her own lending facility.
- 44:48Speaker 4: I can have my own. We can also, you know,
- 44:52Speaker 4: pass it on to somebody else. Like if something happened
- 44:55Speaker 4: between Jess and I and Jess want it out, she
- 44:58Speaker 4: could sell it to somebody else if she wanted to,
- 45:01Speaker 4: but I wouldn't lose out. So like, we need to
- 45:04Speaker 4: look at structure as well as the relationship. And then
- 45:07Speaker 4: on top of that, i'd want to binding financial agreement
- 45:10Speaker 4: if I'm going into this relationship with somebody where now, yeah,
- 45:13Speaker 4: I trust you, Beck, but like what if something happens,
- 45:16Speaker 4: and you know, back to that pregnancy situation, unforeseen happens.
- 45:21Speaker 4: Now there's animosity because I don't want to lose money.
- 45:23Speaker 4: I don't want to sell the property. But also we
- 45:26Speaker 4: haven't pre agreed to anything when we were both wanting
- 45:29Speaker 4: the best for one another. So I think that sitting
- 45:32Speaker 4: down and even if and like I talk to people
- 45:35Speaker 4: all the time about this, they're like, the a binding
- 45:37Speaker 4: financial agreement is so expensive. I get it, But if
- 45:41Speaker 4: you can't afford to do that and you're planning on
- 45:43Speaker 4: buying property, can you actually afford the loss that would
- 45:45Speaker 4: be incurred if it went wrong? Like, can we talk
- 45:48Speaker 4: about that? Can we also sit down and have like
- 45:51Speaker 4: I don't know, if you have a date night with
- 45:52Speaker 4: your brother.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Is that weird? That's weird?
- 45:54Speaker 4: Weird down which it's absolutely bad. You're going to sit down,
- 45:59Speaker 4: You're going to have a drink, and what you're going
- 46:01Speaker 4: to do is go, well, let's think of all of
- 46:04Speaker 4: the worst case scenarios and let's work shop what we'd do. So, like, beck,
- 46:09Speaker 4: I want you to think of the worst thing that
- 46:10Speaker 4: could happen.
- 46:12Speaker 2: House burns down. Okay, what are we going to do?
- 46:14Speaker 4: I want you to be on the same page about
- 46:16Speaker 4: the outcomes before you get there, so that you default
- 46:20Speaker 4: back to okay, Well, when we work shopped this, this
- 46:23Speaker 4: was the outcome. This is what we agreed to. So
- 46:26Speaker 4: there's no like, hey, awkward, but what are we going
- 46:29Speaker 4: to do now? Like you already kind of have a plan,
- 46:32Speaker 4: but that's my advice.
- 46:33Speaker 2: So would you do it? You know what?
- 46:35Speaker 4: Lots of people have done it successfully totally. Lots of
- 46:38Speaker 4: people in our dms are like, don't do it.
- 46:40Speaker 2: It didn't work for me. So would you like to
- 46:42Speaker 2: hear the tea? Always okay?
- 46:44Speaker 4: So before we get to the tea, we did ask
- 46:47Speaker 4: the community, would you ever buy property with a sibling?
- 46:51Speaker 4: Forty seven percent of you setting up too risky, and
- 46:53Speaker 4: fifty three percent said yeah, that could work for me.
- 46:56Speaker 4: We asked, would you rather own fifty percent of a
- 46:58Speaker 4: property now or wait and own one hundred percent? Miss
- 47:01Speaker 4: Jessica Ricci Hard yes, one hundred percent.
- 47:04Speaker 2: She wants to.
- 47:04Speaker 4: Own everything and not share a thing.
- 47:06Speaker 2: I love it.
- 47:08Speaker 4: Forty five percent of you said I want to own
- 47:10Speaker 4: fifty percent now, but fifty five percent of you said
- 47:13Speaker 4: I'm gonna wait for one hundred percent ownership. We then
- 47:16Speaker 4: said babe, what's your two cents share? One person said,
- 47:21Speaker 4: I bought with my brother. It went really badly, almost.
- 47:24Speaker 2: Ripped my family apart. Wow, that really sad. Really ooh.
- 47:30Speaker 4: Someone else said, BFA all day, baby. That is she's
- 47:34Speaker 4: on the money a T shirt.
- 47:36Speaker 2: BFA all day, finding financial agreements all to day. BFA
- 47:40Speaker 2: all day. I want that on a T shirt.
- 47:43Speaker 4: Someone else said, get this communication communication. Wow.
- 47:48Speaker 2: I restrained myself from saying it when you were.
- 47:49Speaker 4: Talking about don't say it, don't say it, don't say it.
- 47:54Speaker 4: Someone else said, my cousins bought property together and it
- 47:56Speaker 4: set them up for a super successful future.
- 48:00Speaker 2: Beautiful.
- 48:01Speaker 4: Someone else said, even if everyone is level headed now,
- 48:04Speaker 4: things can change. Someone else said, tenants in common. That way,
- 48:09Speaker 4: if it does go downhill, there's an extra layer of protection.
- 48:12Speaker 2: We love that.
- 48:13Speaker 4: Someone else said I would never buy with family. I
- 48:16Speaker 4: did it, and it destroyed our relationship completely.
- 48:20Speaker 2: That's really sad. It's actually really sad.
- 48:21Speaker 4: Someone said, my boyfriend's brother won't sell or buy him out,
- 48:25Speaker 4: which means that I am massively held back from buying
- 48:28Speaker 4: our own place.
- 48:28Speaker 1: Oh.
- 48:29Speaker 2: True, But also I don't.
- 48:32Speaker 4: Want to defend your boyfriend's brother here because obviously, I'm
- 48:35Speaker 4: meant to be on your side, but I get it,
- 48:38Speaker 4: Like he bought a property and he doesn't want to
- 48:40Speaker 4: sell it. Yeah, like I buy property. I can almost
- 48:44Speaker 4: guarantee the second Jessico to each she gets her hands
- 48:47Speaker 4: on property. Are you going to be able to convince
- 48:49Speaker 4: that woman to sell it?
- 48:50Speaker 1: No?
- 48:50Speaker 2: Like from my cold far to only come this far.
- 48:55Speaker 4: And that's what we've got to think about when we're
- 48:56Speaker 4: going into situations like this, Like You're life has significantly
- 49:01Speaker 4: changed and now you want to buy with your partner.
- 49:04Speaker 4: So romantic. I love this for you, but your partner
- 49:07Speaker 4: already has a financial commitment with somebody else and that
- 49:11Speaker 4: kind of needs to be respected as well. It sucks,
- 49:13Speaker 4: but like what you're going to do? Someone else said
- 49:16Speaker 4: if they settle as tenants in common, the girlfriend would
- 49:18Speaker 4: only have rights to.
- 49:19Speaker 2: His fifty percent, which is true. Yes, and we'll leave
- 49:22Speaker 2: it there. Great. How are we feeling about that?
- 49:26Speaker 4: On Sunday, I can't wait to get off this podcast
- 49:29Speaker 4: because Jess said that we can talk after about her
- 49:32Speaker 4: meeting with Jack from Zella Money, and that means.
- 49:34Speaker 2: That there might be property in the works for mistress.
- 49:37Speaker 4: Don't know, don't know. Don't know, don't know, eggs, no
- 49:40Speaker 4: basket no, all right, So have a good week, guys.
