- 2:02Speaker 1: As you know, for March, we are celebrating women and
- 2:05Speaker 1: the work of women. So I have one of my
- 2:09Speaker 1: favorite women here, Darcy from our wrestling episodes, and she's
- 2:13Speaker 1: joined Elizabeth to talk to us about horror. And that's
- 2:16Speaker 1: what we're doing today. We're gonna celebrate Lisa Frankenstein because
- 2:21Speaker 1: there's been nothing earlier since the Barbie Movie than Lisa Frankenstein.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Agreed, I loved this movie.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I So I've been going to Cheap Movie Night pretty religiously.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I go at least two or three times a month. Okay,
- 2:39Speaker 1: So I am at a point where people are seeing
- 2:44Speaker 1: trailers for the first time that I feel like I've
- 2:46Speaker 1: been waiting on the movie for years, and that's how
- 2:51Speaker 1: it was for like Lisa Frankenstein. I'm like, when's Lisa
- 2:53Speaker 1: Frankenstein coming out? When I want it?
- 2:56Speaker 2: Now right. I didn't know about it until I think,
- 3:01Speaker 2: like I could think it maybe like heard a little
- 3:03Speaker 2: bit about it, but only a month before it came out.
- 3:08Speaker 2: I feel like I kind of like I was like,
- 3:10Speaker 2: what is this and I just knew where to what.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I was like, I'm going to see it regardless. I
- 3:14Speaker 2: didn't really know what to expect, but I definitely exceeded
- 3:18Speaker 2: my expectations. Well, I mean, right before I went to
- 3:22Speaker 2: the movie, I found out that it was the same
- 3:24Speaker 2: writer as Jennifer's Body. Uh huh, and that was like, oh, okay,
- 3:28Speaker 2: so this movie is gonna be awesome. Yeah it was.
- 3:32Speaker 2: It sure was.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Let me go ahead and read this little synopsis for
- 3:35Speaker 1: everyone who didn't make it to the movie theater. Although
- 3:38Speaker 1: Lisa Frankenstein is streaming, Doe asked me what platform, but
- 3:42Speaker 1: I know you can rent it somewhere. Lisa Fraankenstein is
- 3:45Speaker 1: a twenty twenty four American comedy horror filmed directed by
- 3:49Speaker 1: Zelda Williams in her feature length directorial debut, We Love
- 3:55Speaker 1: to See It, and written by Diablo Cody, the writer
- 3:59Speaker 1: of Jennifer's Body. Another cult family classic, amazing family classic
- 4:06Speaker 1: for sure. The film stars Katherine Newton, Cole Sprouse, Lisa, Liza.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I saw that Z and went Lisa. That's that's where
- 4:18Speaker 1: I would go to, Liza Soberano, Henry Elkingberry, Joe prest
- 4:24Speaker 1: and Carla Ugeno. I've never been able to say her
- 4:28Speaker 1: last name correctly. The plot follows a misunderstood teenage goth
- 4:31Speaker 1: girl who meets and develops a relationship with a reanimated
- 4:36Speaker 1: Victorian era corpse. And Cody has gone ahead and let
- 4:43Speaker 1: us know that Lisa Frankenstein is in fact set in
- 4:46Speaker 1: the same fictional universe as Jennifer's body.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Yes, yes, we're just about anything can happen, about anything
- 4:55Speaker 2: going to happen. I where do you want to start?
- 4:58Speaker 2: I mean we maybe go through like the characters a
- 5:02Speaker 2: little bit. Yeah yeah. Should we just gusha on Lisa
- 5:06Speaker 2: for a little bit, Yeah, yeah we can. I love
- 5:10Speaker 2: her and I didn't even realize that she is actually
- 5:14Speaker 2: the same girl. It's in Freaky. Have you seen Freaky?
- 5:17Speaker 2: I haven't seen Freaky? Oh you haven't. Oh it's get you.
- 5:21Speaker 2: You would love it, you would love it. But she
- 5:22Speaker 2: starts in that too, and it just kind of like
- 5:25Speaker 2: makes sense. They have like a similar vibe. I guess
- 5:28Speaker 2: kind of thing. But I loved the character, like front
- 5:31Speaker 2: to back, like she was just amazing. I love her
- 5:34Speaker 2: acceleration into like goth clothes and like her attire that
- 5:39Speaker 2: she was wearing. That was a big thing for it.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Some background on Lisa. She is currently living with her father,
- 5:47Speaker 1: her stepmother, and her stepsister because her mother was brutally
- 5:51Speaker 1: murdered during a break in. Yeah, and it was only
- 5:53Speaker 1: like a year or two before, right, because men get
- 5:56Speaker 1: remarried quickly, quickly. Because her father did what a lot
- 6:02Speaker 1: of men do and just band aid married someone else,
- 6:06Speaker 1: he just fully expects that Lisa is over it too. Yeah,
- 6:11Speaker 1: there's no therapy in the Lisa Frankenstein universe, though there
- 6:16Speaker 1: are self help books on tape, Yes, doing it in person,
- 6:21Speaker 1: do it in person, or just keep listening to doctor
- 6:24Speaker 1: Phil on a cassette tape right right.
- 6:27Speaker 2: What I love the most about.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Lisa is she's insecure in the most confident way.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Yeah. I think that's a really good way to put it.
- 6:38Speaker 1: She realizes that she's a weirdo, and she's like, I'm
- 6:41Speaker 1: just weird, So I'll just stand here quietly while my
- 6:44Speaker 1: very pretty stepsister takes me to a party, or I
- 6:50Speaker 1: will I'm pretty sure that the boy I like doesn't
- 6:53Speaker 1: like me back, but I will write him a check
- 6:56Speaker 1: yes or no letter and drop it in his locker.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Like she's just your.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Quintessential like romantic teen girl who's.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Like, yes, I love like how when it opens it
- 7:11Speaker 2: has like the like the cemetery, and like her like
- 7:13Speaker 2: hanging out in the cemetery, and I just I love
- 7:16Speaker 2: that it's like an it's like an abandoned cemetery in
- 7:19Speaker 2: the middle of you know, it's in the middle of
- 7:21Speaker 2: the cutthrough whatever that is between neighborhoods, I guess. But
- 7:26Speaker 2: she's in love with this. I wouldn't say she's in love.
- 7:29Speaker 2: She's like enamored with this tombstone that has like a man. Actually,
- 7:36Speaker 2: I don't know, how would you like a sculpture. It's
- 7:38Speaker 2: like a bust. It's like a bust on top of
- 7:40Speaker 2: the Yeah, and she just is so I don't she
- 7:44Speaker 2: like makes what does she say like I wish I
- 7:46Speaker 2: was with you or I wish I was with you.
- 7:49Speaker 2: It's just it's so weird. And I love when she's
- 7:52Speaker 2: telling Tappy's the sister. And I love when she's telling
- 7:55Speaker 2: Tafi in the car like about it and like that's weird,
- 8:00Speaker 2: and she's like, no, no, it's like totally normal. Like
- 8:03Speaker 2: I love how nonchalant she was about her hanging out
- 8:06Speaker 2: in the.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Cemetery, right, She's like, my mom's dead, I hang out
- 8:10Speaker 1: in cemeteries. I have done what many sixteen year old
- 8:14Speaker 1: girls have done before me, and I have created an
- 8:18Speaker 1: entire backstory for a man that I will never know,
- 8:22Speaker 1: and I'm in love with him.
- 8:24Speaker 2: And that's fine. It's so good. It's so good.
- 8:29Speaker 1: I also feel like she made up a lot about
- 8:32Speaker 1: his backstory, but for because this is like eighties nineties.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Yeah, eighteen eighty nine, I think is good. Yeah, it's
- 8:41Speaker 2: the brink of the nineties.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Yep, for someone who doesn't have the Internet. She like
- 8:47Speaker 1: knows a lot about the Corpse.
- 8:51Speaker 2: She doesn't know a lot about the Corps. I didn't
- 8:53Speaker 2: really think about that. I feel like, did we ever
- 8:57Speaker 2: even get the name? Oh no, it's a kind of
- 9:01Speaker 2: or like, as I'm looking up right.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Now, because I was just wondering that too, I was like,
- 9:06Speaker 1: do we just continue to call him.
- 9:08Speaker 2: The corpse because so he's I did notice he was
- 9:11Speaker 2: credited as the creature, oh, which I loved because it
- 9:17Speaker 2: the whole movie has like very universal monsters vibes obviously
- 9:21Speaker 2: with Frankenstein, and I was like going more towards Bride
- 9:24Speaker 2: of Frankenstein, but it's also kind of like Creature from
- 9:28Speaker 2: the Black Lagoon vibes, Like I just love like that
- 9:31Speaker 2: old school monster vibe, and I just felt like Lisa
- 9:35Speaker 2: frank And then also like the Lisa frank aspect of it,
- 9:39Speaker 2: where it was just so bright and colorful, and I'm
- 9:42Speaker 2: not sure if it was intentional, but I hope it was.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Annie and I looked it up because she's a texted
- 9:47Speaker 1: me and she goes, am, I late to the joke,
- 9:50Speaker 1: or is Lisa Frankenstein a play on Lisa Frank And
- 9:54Speaker 1: I was like, I haven't heard that, so maybe it's
- 9:58Speaker 1: just a wild coincidence. And then I googled it and
- 10:01Speaker 1: they were like, no, we were paying homage to Lisa
- 10:05Speaker 1: frank And I was like, that's why the dopamine hit
- 10:07Speaker 1: me so hard.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Right right. I could totally see it. There was also
- 10:12Speaker 2: I did a little bit of research. I thought it
- 10:15Speaker 2: was really cool. Oh, her name is Lisa Swallows. We
- 10:17Speaker 2: forgot to like put her full name in it, because
- 10:21Speaker 2: like every time she gets a cough in the neighbor.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Like in school, they're like, Lisa Swallows, please come to
- 10:29Speaker 2: the principal's office. And I just like, nobody ever, like
- 10:33Speaker 2: makes a joke about her name. No one ever talks
- 10:36Speaker 2: about like that's being her last name. And I don't
- 10:40Speaker 2: know why, it just it just kills me. It's so funny.
- 10:42Speaker 1: No, it is funny, and it's even funnier that no
- 10:45Speaker 1: one even says anything about it.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Yeah, like like in this day day, people would just
- 10:50Speaker 2: be making fun of the name. I feel like most movies,
- 10:53Speaker 2: I feel like we would make fun of the name, like
- 10:55Speaker 2: at least have some character, especially because it's in a
- 10:58Speaker 2: high school. Yeah, she has people that are mean to her,
- 11:01Speaker 2: so it's like it could fit. Maybe she didn't want to,
- 11:05Speaker 2: Like I mean, I feel like there's definitely probably some
- 11:08Speaker 2: type of maybe like an ideal. I don't know. I mean,
- 11:12Speaker 2: the name is funny. I'm trying to think if like
- 11:14Speaker 2: there was like you know what I mean, like if
- 11:16Speaker 2: it's like stepping up in humor, you know what I mean,
- 11:19Speaker 2: like yeah, not punching down, yes, yes, but yeah. I
- 11:23Speaker 2: also saw though that she named her Lisa after for
- 11:28Speaker 2: weird science. Oh that is the woman that they create.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I've only seen it once, like a long time ago.
- 11:35Speaker 2: But the woman that they like reanimate is her name
- 11:38Speaker 2: is Lisa. Oh okay, just all of these tie ins. Yes,
- 11:43Speaker 2: it's so so good.
- 11:45Speaker 1: So we kind of talked about how it's a movie
- 11:49Speaker 1: that's kind of about brief but it's also a movie
- 11:52Speaker 1: that's kind of about puberty and it's honestly, when the
- 11:56Speaker 1: credit started to roll, I looked at my friend and
- 11:58Speaker 1: I went, I was just like really romantic.
- 12:04Speaker 2: I lost like the one. Well, there's like a line
- 12:09Speaker 2: that I really expected at the end of the movie,
- 12:11Speaker 2: but I'll wait until we kind of get towards that,
- 12:14Speaker 2: so I don't like jump.
- 12:15Speaker 1: The gun and by the way, onto all the men
- 12:18Speaker 1: that I've tolerated before. Because we are not a normal
- 12:21Speaker 1: movie podcast, we believe in spoilers, I'm gonna tell you
- 12:25Speaker 1: the entire plot of the movie.
- 12:27Speaker 2: I think that's fair. I mean, so if you haven't
- 12:29Speaker 2: seen it yet, pause it, can see it and come back.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I mean, I feel like the movie's not like I mean,
- 12:35Speaker 2: there's there's funny things about that could be spoiled, but
- 12:37Speaker 2: I feel like it's not like that far batch from
- 12:39Speaker 2: what you would.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Expect we get to know Lisa and Tappy and their
- 12:42Speaker 1: differences pretty quickly because they're getting ready. Well, Tappy is
- 12:46Speaker 1: begging Lisa to come to a party. Yes, yes, and
- 12:51Speaker 1: why doesn't?
- 12:51Speaker 2: Why does it make her go? Do they just the
- 12:54Speaker 2: parents can make her girl? No?
- 12:55Speaker 1: I think I think Tappy is obsessed with their family
- 13:01Speaker 1: working out, and so there are something so loving and
- 13:06Speaker 1: caring about Tappy where she's like, your dad married my
- 13:09Speaker 1: mom and we're family. You're my sister, and I will
- 13:12Speaker 1: take care of you, and it's not like gross or condescending,
- 13:16Speaker 1: especially because Tappy is a cheerleader who's like really preppy
- 13:20Speaker 1: and always has that preppy in her voice. It was
- 13:23Speaker 1: nice to just see that, Like I was like, no,
- 13:25Speaker 1: I actually buy it that Tappy cares right right.
- 13:30Speaker 2: I know. She's such like a unique character because like
- 13:33Speaker 2: you kind of feel like really bad for her at
- 13:35Speaker 2: times and then other times they're like what the hell
- 13:37Speaker 2: are you doing? She just gets so like when she
- 13:39Speaker 2: gets emotional, it's really funny to me. You know, she
- 13:42Speaker 2: kind of has like this like not fake crime because
- 13:46Speaker 2: it's not fake, but it's take this dramatic yes, you know,
- 13:50Speaker 2: reaction to things.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Yeah, she's a caricature of a popular girl to be sure.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Oh yeah, oh yeah. So they go to this party.
- 13:59Speaker 2: She has this crush this loser guy. I don't remember
- 14:02Speaker 2: his name.
- 14:03Speaker 1: I know either men are irrelevant. I am confused because
- 14:06Speaker 1: we never learned this popular guy has a friend who
- 14:11Speaker 1: is also a goth girl who is like very not
- 14:14Speaker 1: obsessive possessive of him.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Do we ever get closure on that about why that
- 14:20Speaker 2: would be. Were they brother and sister? Were they cousins?
- 14:24Speaker 2: Like I don't know, Like in the beginning, I thought
- 14:27Speaker 2: they were like boyfriend girlfriend or something, but then I
- 14:31Speaker 2: don't know. But like she also has like really weird vibes. Yeah,
- 14:36Speaker 2: because she is me. She's feel like me. Yeah. She
- 14:40Speaker 2: basically blows up Lisa's spot and everything later on in
- 14:45Speaker 2: the movie well and she will just kidding. She is
- 14:48Speaker 2: at the party. At the party, she drugs Lisa, yes,
- 14:53Speaker 2: while she sees that Lisa's like trying to be so normal. Yes, yes,
- 14:59Speaker 2: and she just wants to talk to this boy and
- 15:01Speaker 2: pay drug her. What does she have that drink?
- 15:04Speaker 1: I wondered, though I don't know. He says something. It's
- 15:06Speaker 1: like Kuai leads or something. It was like it was
- 15:09Speaker 1: like a jungle juice mixture that was also laced with acid.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Oh my god, it was so bad. She was like,
- 15:18Speaker 2: so she automatically like gets gets high very fast.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Yeah, she starts tripping to the point where we're tripping too,
- 15:26Speaker 1: And I will say that that like crush boy, he
- 15:30Speaker 1: was like concerned about that. He's like, I can't believe
- 15:32Speaker 1: that you did that. But does he follow her into
- 15:34Speaker 1: the house to be like, hey, Lisa, you're about to
- 15:37Speaker 1: trip your balls off. Why don't we just put you
- 15:39Speaker 1: in a car or something right right.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Like look out for something after that, and then there's
- 15:46Speaker 2: that lab partner.
- 15:48Speaker 1: So then her dorky lab partner is like, we're fellow nerds.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I'll take care of you, like we'll go get find
- 15:54Speaker 1: you a couch or whatever, like clearly something has happened
- 15:57Speaker 1: to you. And he like, and even I got tricked
- 16:02Speaker 1: by it, even though I know that nerds can be
- 16:05Speaker 1: creeps too.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Yeah, So this little incel takes her up to a
- 16:10Speaker 1: bedroom and then like she's tripping and she might be
- 16:14Speaker 1: imagining being on the moon, I think.
- 16:16Speaker 2: At this point.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Yeah, And all of a sudden, you hear him go
- 16:21Speaker 1: does that feel good? And he's like massaging her breast is.
- 16:26Speaker 1: She has no idea and then he calls her like
- 16:28Speaker 1: a coptis and tries to make her give him a
- 16:31Speaker 1: hand dub.
- 16:32Speaker 2: It's so fucking weird. It's so fucking weird. I he's
- 16:37Speaker 2: such a creep. He just like he just gives me
- 16:39Speaker 2: the GBS and like he just like thought that it
- 16:43Speaker 2: was just gonna happen for him like that.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I think what's so fun about movies like Jennifer's Body
- 16:48Speaker 1: and Barbarian and Lisa Frankenstein is that the directors and
- 16:52Speaker 1: the writers want to remind you that, like the monster
- 16:55Speaker 1: is always the monster. And I know that like a
- 16:58Speaker 1: lot of white bros Are gonna told me, like ooh,
- 17:00Speaker 1: Stephen King did that first. There was always like a
- 17:04Speaker 1: human monster compared to the real monster. And you are correct.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Good for you. It is something that happens in horror
- 17:12Speaker 2: that I'm like, no, because like, as a woman, I
- 17:16Speaker 2: understand that I have to be on my guard even
- 17:20Speaker 2: when you don't come off as monstrous, or even if
- 17:23Speaker 2: I've known you for twenty years, do you know? Side
- 17:25Speaker 2: note and you could leave us in here or not.
- 17:28Speaker 2: But I just watched a prevasy the young woman for
- 17:30Speaker 2: the first time. Oh man, my mind alone. Yeah, so
- 17:35Speaker 2: it's kind of it's kind of a similar vibe. I
- 17:37Speaker 2: won't go into that, but if anybody here hasn't seen that,
- 17:40Speaker 2: it's a great media. I feel like, for if you
- 17:42Speaker 2: like horror and like the thrillerness of it, it's great.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I feel like for your audience.
- 17:47Speaker 1: If you love villainous women, which I do, and I
- 17:50Speaker 1: think like Lisa is on her way to being like
- 17:53Speaker 1: a villainous woman.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Yeah. Well so she ends up leaving the party, takes
- 18:00Speaker 2: the shortcut, tells the corpse band, I wish I was
- 18:03Speaker 2: with you. Yes, And somehow this like I don't really
- 18:08Speaker 2: understand how, but I guess it's like that's the part
- 18:11Speaker 2: that they're in the Staby universe. Somehow, all of a sudden,
- 18:13Speaker 2: there's like a green storm. There's greenish blue clouds, and
- 18:18Speaker 2: we can tell that something has happened. And is the
- 18:21Speaker 2: Timson stuck stuff by lightning? Mm hmm, yes, yes, And
- 18:25Speaker 2: I think like it takes a while for him to
- 18:27Speaker 2: like show up, I think right.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Because she's home alone, her family has gone out for pizza.
- 18:33Speaker 1: She's listening to records.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Her sitting on the couch with the popcorn in her lab.
- 18:39Speaker 2: I was like, I feel that, Like that is like
- 18:41Speaker 2: I think she was watching Day the Dad. I I member, oh, yeah,
- 18:45Speaker 2: she might have been watching Day of the Dad. Yeah,
- 18:47Speaker 2: And like I was just like, girl, that's like my
- 18:50Speaker 2: company zone too. But what happens next?
- 18:54Speaker 1: Well, as a woman who has experienced a break in
- 18:58Speaker 1: before that resulted in the death of her own mother,
- 19:02Speaker 1: the creature Browsehole Sprouse is trying to like beat down
- 19:08Speaker 1: the glass door to get into her home, and eventually
- 19:12Speaker 1: he does and she runs for him for like thirty seconds,
- 19:17Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden, she's like, do you
- 19:19Speaker 1: want to listen to air supply? Like by friend Sam
- 19:21Speaker 1: said out loud, She's like, your mom was murdered during
- 19:24Speaker 1: the breaket and you're just like, hey, weird zombie man,
- 19:28Speaker 1: do you want to chill bright?
- 19:31Speaker 2: Like is at one point he buys me like hiding,
- 19:33Speaker 2: and she's like, you know, kind of like what is happening,
- 19:37Speaker 2: but like it's kind of weird how nonchalant she is
- 19:40Speaker 2: about it. She's just like, oh, you're the guy, because
- 19:44Speaker 2: oh he brings her up the rosary. Oh yeah, that's
- 19:46Speaker 2: how she knows because she had her.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Mom's a Rosa Rosary of the Grave and then she's like, oh,
- 19:53Speaker 1: my one true love the headstone.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Yes, and he was like, I saw this twice in theater.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I don't know if I told you that, but I
- 20:00Speaker 2: did see it twice. So that's why I got like
- 20:01Speaker 2: a really I was like really happy when you ask me,
- 20:04Speaker 2: because I was like, oh, I got like a lot
- 20:06Speaker 2: a lot in here. He's like kind of makes it
- 20:08Speaker 2: seem like I don't know if he like touches it
- 20:10Speaker 2: because he can't really talk, so like I don't know
- 20:11Speaker 2: if he like touches his car or things. He's like
- 20:15Speaker 2: makes it seem like, well, we're friends. Yeah, And she's like, well,
- 20:19Speaker 2: I didn't want to be like this is the best.
- 20:22Speaker 2: She goes, I wanted to be with you, like dead dead.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I wanted to be dead with you.
- 20:28Speaker 1: And I was like at this point in the movie,
- 20:32Speaker 1: I turned to my friend and I go, I've never
- 20:34Speaker 1: felt anything harder.
- 20:35Speaker 2: No, I didn't want you to come here. I wanted
- 20:38Speaker 2: to be dead, like I wanted to be with you.
- 20:43Speaker 2: And then he cries and we find out that his
- 20:46Speaker 2: tears apparently may smell like, yeah, she's just like rotten eggs.
- 20:51Speaker 2: It's terrible. And it's like, why only the why do
- 20:55Speaker 2: only his tears? Right? Why doesn't his entire who he is?
- 21:00Speaker 2: Gooey in the beginning and she puts it in the
- 21:02Speaker 2: shower with all of us clothes up.
- 21:04Speaker 1: He does look like the creature from the Black Lagoon
- 21:07Speaker 1: because he's like dripping in mud and rain, right, you
- 21:10Speaker 1: know what.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I didn't even like really put that together, but I'm
- 21:13Speaker 2: sure that was, yeah, okay's part of it.
- 21:16Speaker 1: There are moments where he looks like the creature from
- 21:18Speaker 1: the Black Lagoon. There are moments where he looks like
- 21:20Speaker 1: what I would can consider like the Green Man from
- 21:24Speaker 1: like Witchcraft, you know, like how men like the Green Man,
- 21:28Speaker 1: or like ins from Lord of the Rains, where it's
- 21:30Speaker 1: almost like he looked like Bark Like for some part
- 21:33Speaker 1: of it, I think the funniest part about like Lisa
- 21:38Speaker 1: Frankenstein just being like, oh right.
- 21:41Speaker 2: We're a couple. You're like we're friends?
- 21:45Speaker 1: Is it threw out the entire movie for some and
- 21:49Speaker 1: again for someone who is so insecure and so traumatized,
- 21:54Speaker 1: she's so committed to her own bit. It's like I'm
- 21:58Speaker 1: the weird girl and yet I have the most main
- 22:01Speaker 1: character energy you have ever seen and therefore, of course
- 22:07Speaker 1: the zombie man brought me my mother's rosary and came
- 22:11Speaker 1: to find me. This would only happen to me. Duh,
- 22:17Speaker 1: obviously obviously, And I think that's why I love her
- 22:21Speaker 1: so much.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Oh my god, she's just she's so funny. Oh there's
- 22:26Speaker 2: and then how did the first get so? She Tapy
- 22:32Speaker 2: has a canny bet in like her own little garage,
- 22:37Speaker 2: own little garage. There just really it's just a very
- 22:40Speaker 2: weird setup. And I think she put oh when when
- 22:44Speaker 2: Lisa was like UPSat earlier in the movie, she said,
- 22:46Speaker 2: just she's maintaining that, and then she got electrocuted. What
- 22:50Speaker 2: did you put him in the first time? Do you remember?
- 22:52Speaker 1: I think it's a while. So she puts the creature
- 22:56Speaker 1: in the closet. She's like, staying here. My family is bad.
- 23:00Speaker 1: The stepmother is screaming about her precious moments because they're broken,
- 23:04Speaker 1: and she hates Lisa, hates her, hates her so much.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Wicked stepmother to the core is so fissed about these
- 23:13Speaker 1: precious moments. Is convinced that like Lisa is being a
- 23:16Speaker 1: weirdo who breaks things on purpose.
- 23:19Speaker 2: She thought this to like trash the house on purpose.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Yes, due to her trauma that no one is actually
- 23:25Speaker 1: that concerned about. But like the stepmom's always threatening to
- 23:29Speaker 1: like hospitalize Lisa over it.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Well, she was gonna the right before. Well after this
- 23:36Speaker 2: she gets she's sending her like a boarding school.
- 23:39Speaker 1: No, because she's like a nurse on a psych ward.
- 23:42Speaker 1: She's gonna use her psych ward connections to get Lisa
- 23:45Speaker 1: into the psych ward.
- 23:46Speaker 2: That makes sense because she does keeps saying it the
- 23:48Speaker 2: whole time and whenever she talks when Tappy's like, Mom,
- 23:52Speaker 2: do you think you should be talking about your clients
- 23:55Speaker 2: like that? Because she was like saying, I don't know
- 23:57Speaker 2: something about the mental institution, and I do like that
- 24:00Speaker 2: Taffy like kind of calls her mom out sometimes.
- 24:03Speaker 1: When she's like acting a fool and Dad is clue
- 24:06Speaker 1: this right? Who is this man?
- 24:08Speaker 2: Like he literally has the most like, which I think
- 24:12Speaker 2: is fitting for the movie. Like he just says like
- 24:15Speaker 2: the most like who cares is irrelevant? Yeah, so irrelevant.
- 24:19Speaker 2: He's the most irrelevant character. But like it's kind but
- 24:22Speaker 2: it's not irrelevant character irrelevant behavior. I guess like his
- 24:26Speaker 2: character obviously mad because he's the dad, but he's just
- 24:28Speaker 2: such a freaking idiot, Like I feel like he just
- 24:32Speaker 2: and who knows if hate. I mean, I don't think
- 24:35Speaker 2: he's processed with his trauma either.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Oh no, do you know how like when Peyton Staid
- 24:39Speaker 1: from One Tree Hill would come in from the sea
- 24:41Speaker 1: from his like barge job.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Yes, yes, he would ask.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Like Ayen two questions about her emotional state. He'd be like, so, Peyton,
- 24:52Speaker 1: you heat me up with school, and she'd be like yeah,
- 24:54Speaker 1: and then he's like cool, like you gotta love life
- 24:57Speaker 1: and you have friends, Okay.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Good. Dad doesn't even do that, not at all, Like
- 25:04Speaker 2: even when she's so mad about them, or the step
- 25:06Speaker 2: I'm so mad about, like her trashing the house. I
- 25:09Speaker 2: think Dad's like reading a newspaper. Like he's totally like
- 25:13Speaker 2: not even engaged, Like he's just kind of like what
- 25:16Speaker 2: the hell. He kind of doesn't seem to really care
- 25:19Speaker 2: that she wants to put Lisa in a mental insistencion.
- 25:23Speaker 2: He's just like, whatever happens happens. So she has the
- 25:27Speaker 2: creature in a closet, and he quickly realizes that the
- 25:31Speaker 2: stepmom's not nice to Lisa, so now he's gonna fuck
- 25:34Speaker 2: with her shit, and he like drops nasty worms from
- 25:37Speaker 2: his corpse body into her cottage. She's no, that's because
- 25:43Speaker 2: she's and he's able to sneak behind her because he
- 25:45Speaker 2: kind of like drags his leg as he walks. He
- 25:49Speaker 2: is able to sneak behind her because she's wearing her
- 25:51Speaker 2: phones and listening to like a doctor Phil Cassette or something.
- 25:57Speaker 2: It's the intuitive person.
- 26:00Speaker 1: So that has she's an mpath and that's why like
- 26:03Speaker 1: she thinks everyone else is awful.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Yes, oh my god. But the words on that are
- 26:09Speaker 2: word killing me. I was like, I wonder if this
- 26:11Speaker 2: is like something that was really out in the eighties,
- 26:14Speaker 2: because they very well could be like what she was.
- 26:17Speaker 2: It says on there like on paths, seclude themselves for
- 26:20Speaker 2: a reason, and like all this stuff, and I'm like
- 26:23Speaker 2: it just made it seem Yeah, it was clearly. I
- 26:26Speaker 2: don't think she's listening to the right helpful audio book
- 26:30Speaker 2: or whatever. She's in full aerobic spear like me on
- 26:34Speaker 2: aerobic skear. Yeah, oh my god. And then the champoo
- 26:38Speaker 2: carpet guys come and they asked the clean and you
- 26:41Speaker 2: can eat off my carpets. She's like nuts, she seriously
- 26:44Speaker 2: she yells at like the men who are just trying
- 26:47Speaker 2: to like, you know, they're just going door the door, crying,
- 26:49Speaker 2: knicking carpets and that's when he gets the worm. But
- 26:53Speaker 2: of course Lisa gets the blame for that. Yeah, well,
- 26:57Speaker 2: because they don't know that there's a corpse when so
- 27:01Speaker 2: when Lisa gets home from school, this is all confronted
- 27:04Speaker 2: in Lisa's room and she's screaming about sending Lisa away. Yeah,
- 27:09Speaker 2: and the creature does he just like come on and
- 27:12Speaker 2: tack here? He does.
- 27:13Speaker 1: He finds something it's like a sewing machine or something
- 27:16Speaker 1: in the closet and he hits her over the head.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and it's just instead she's dead that he
- 27:23Speaker 2: takes her ear because he has.
- 27:26Speaker 1: A missing ear and he's very insecure about his missing
- 27:29Speaker 1: body parts.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Yes, and he was very because he doesn't have a
- 27:34Speaker 2: hand or an ear, and he's trying to like, yes,
- 27:37Speaker 2: I totally forgot because he kept bringing it up and
- 27:39Speaker 2: she's like, I'm not a doctor. I couldn't right. This
- 27:42Speaker 2: main character energy is like what do you want? I
- 27:44Speaker 2: don't know. So he rips off.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Stuff OF's ear and he's like motioning to Lisa that like,
- 27:50Speaker 1: I have an ear, you should sew it back on
- 27:52Speaker 1: to me because she does so like that's her part
- 27:55Speaker 1: time high school job at the cleaners, and she goes,
- 28:00Speaker 1: I couldn't, I couldn't possibly not until we hide the body,
- 28:04Speaker 1: like there's no wrapprimanding that you killed my step bob.
- 28:10Speaker 2: She doesn't care at all.
- 28:11Speaker 1: No, she's immediately like, of course this has happened every
- 28:15Speaker 1: like of.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Course, and they bring her back to the cemetery right,
- 28:19Speaker 2: and they like throw in empty that really put her
- 28:22Speaker 2: in his grave. I think it's his grave. Yeah, they're
- 28:25Speaker 2: able to get away with it for a couple of
- 28:27Speaker 2: days because she was supposed to be going on a
- 28:29Speaker 2: trip that she actually was canceling, but Lisa was the
- 28:33Speaker 2: only one that knew, so we play it off to
- 28:36Speaker 2: Tappy and Dad that Lisa is on her trip and
- 28:41Speaker 2: not missing or dead anywhere.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Well, but that's why she puts them in the tanning bed,
- 28:46Speaker 1: because she sews on the ear and it doesn't immediately
- 28:50Speaker 1: make him hear. So then she was like electricity the
- 28:54Speaker 1: tanning bed, and then every time she puts them in
- 28:57Speaker 1: the tanning bed, he becomes a little less monstrous and
- 29:01Speaker 1: a little bit more boyfriend material.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Oh my god, I love the whole tanning bed thing,
- 29:08Speaker 2: Like I think it's genius. I think like fitting with
- 29:12Speaker 2: Lisa frank five Lisa Frankenstein eighties and just being so like,
- 29:18Speaker 2: I don't know, over the top with some shit. It's like,
- 29:21Speaker 2: of course it would be a fucking tanning bed. Like
- 29:24Speaker 2: it's just so perfect and I never would have thought
- 29:28Speaker 2: of it. I feel like tanning beds have like they're
- 29:31Speaker 2: usually they're a couple horror movies and they're like traumatic,
- 29:35Speaker 2: you know, traumatic deaths, and this one is like the
- 29:38Speaker 2: Vehicle of Life, Yeah, which is so eighties.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Again, it's so feminine to have like the tanning bed
- 29:46Speaker 1: be like a supporting role in the movie.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Yes, that's like in place of doctor Frankenstein's like whole
- 29:54Speaker 2: contraption and like wheeling Frankenstein up to be electrocuted. Just
- 29:59Speaker 2: go with the tanning bed. Just go with the tuning bed.
- 30:01Speaker 2: It's already on the fritz. Oh yeah. Because it's very
- 30:06Speaker 2: like Rickety and Chaffy got it from like winning a
- 30:10Speaker 2: beauty pageant or something. We kind of Lisa kind of
- 30:12Speaker 2: gets a taste of this. I don't know what she's
- 30:15Speaker 2: I honestly don't know what she's really getting to throw out.
- 30:18Speaker 2: I guess just like putting like helping him. No, I
- 30:21Speaker 2: don't even think that's it. I think it.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I think what I like the most about Lisa and
- 30:26Speaker 1: Leka Lisa Frankenstein is it's truly all about her and
- 30:31Speaker 1: like normally it's like you gross, why would this be
- 30:35Speaker 1: all about you? And I'm like, no, I love that.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Like she's a she's a villainous woman, not because like
- 30:44Speaker 1: she's actually a murderer or she's Jennifer's body with like
- 30:49Speaker 1: the alien shit monster shit going on. She's literally just
- 30:53Speaker 1: like a vapid teenager who's like self centered, and it's
- 30:56Speaker 1: like that makes you villainous.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Lisa, like in right of course. Well, and she starts
- 31:00Speaker 2: wearing Taffy's like Halloween clothes Rolloween costumes because they're all
- 31:06Speaker 2: like they're like amazing outfits, Like she looks like impeccable,
- 31:09Speaker 2: but she definitely does like a huge like one eight
- 31:12Speaker 2: on her very ginger snaps. Yes, like this like a
- 31:18Speaker 2: totally different vibe when she comes in. I mean, obviously
- 31:21Speaker 2: it's goth instead of like two thousands, you.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Know, you know, and all of a sudden, you're you
- 31:26Speaker 1: commit to being evil and you're hot.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Yes, obviously, right, that's just what happens, Like I committed
- 31:34Speaker 2: to being evil and now I'm hot. I'm that bitch
- 31:38Speaker 2: and I don't even know the school. The people at school,
- 31:41Speaker 2: I don't really They kind of don't really react like
- 31:44Speaker 2: they became Eve are weird about it. The crush boy
- 31:47Speaker 2: and the lab partner boy kind of tilt their heads
- 31:50Speaker 2: at it. Like she definitely feels like she's getting noticed,
- 31:54Speaker 2: but she still is also so socially like behind everyone
- 32:00Speaker 2: that she can't speak to any Well, no, you're right,
- 32:03Speaker 2: she can't. She doesn't really ever talk to the either
- 32:07Speaker 2: of the boys much. She so she sets up that
- 32:10Speaker 2: partner boy to meet her, which we think is going
- 32:14Speaker 2: to be the other the crushed guy. We don't really
- 32:17Speaker 2: like get that, and ultimately we find you know, he
- 32:22Speaker 2: goes to meet her evens is going to get lucky,
- 32:25Speaker 2: and she takes him to the cemetery. He freaks out
- 32:28Speaker 2: about the cemetery. He does why it's the lyric's place
- 32:33Speaker 2: to be. He's like, I'm not going in there, and
- 32:36Speaker 2: she's like fine, But the creature cuts off our dude's hand.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Phil SIV cuts off the hand, the hand first or after, Oh,
- 32:46Speaker 2: I think he starts running. I think he starts running
- 32:49Speaker 2: and in mid the Creature throws something at He's like
- 32:54Speaker 2: a very accurate shot. He's a very good killer. The
- 33:00Speaker 2: best part is.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Like the whole premise of the Creature in Lisa's relationship
- 33:05Speaker 1: is that she finally has someone who is forced.
- 33:09Speaker 2: To do nothing but listen to her.
- 33:12Speaker 1: So it's the first time that she's ever felt comfortable
- 33:15Speaker 1: speaking to anyone.
- 33:16Speaker 2: That's a really, really good point, you know, because it
- 33:19Speaker 2: is it because she does his talk and talk and
- 33:21Speaker 2: talk to him the whole time.
- 33:22Speaker 1: He's just like and then he waves his stump at
- 33:25Speaker 1: her and she's like, no, I get it, you need
- 33:27Speaker 1: a hand. But I'm telling you that the jello at
- 33:29Speaker 1: the cafeteria was weird and it wasn't cold enough, like
- 33:34Speaker 1: oh my god. And she always talks to him.
- 33:36Speaker 2: About her crush and like losing her virginity to him, yes,
- 33:41Speaker 2: which is like very you know. Then the Creature you can.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Tell he's in sad. He's sad because because he's given.
- 33:49Speaker 1: He was like, I thought you were all into me.
- 33:53Speaker 1: The storm gave me a second chance at life that
- 33:57Speaker 1: you're supposed to want to fuck me.
- 34:00Speaker 2: He gave me this necklace. I said, you wanted to
- 34:03Speaker 2: be with me, what do you expect?
- 34:05Speaker 1: And she's like, I meant dead I met in the ground.
- 34:10Speaker 1: It was like relatable, totally totally. Once he has the hand,
- 34:15Speaker 1: then I love a musical number in the middle of
- 34:19Speaker 1: a movie for no.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Reason because you see, you've seen him trying to play
- 34:23Speaker 2: the piano like earlier, and now he has. He goes
- 34:28Speaker 2: back in the tanner and.
- 34:29Speaker 1: He plays Feelings, which is.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Just so funny, Like the whole thing. He gave me
- 34:37Speaker 2: laugh so much because like, I guess that what happened,
- 34:39Speaker 2: Like if he knows how to read music, Like I'm
- 34:42Speaker 2: just like, how did they get it to be so good?
- 34:45Speaker 2: But I mean I guess that's he would be able
- 34:47Speaker 2: to read music if he's done it before. Yeah, he
- 34:49Speaker 2: was like a concert pianist or something. He was perfect.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Like she starts singing and she's so like just over that.
- 34:58Speaker 2: She's she gets really over the top, like throughout the movie.
- 35:03Speaker 1: I love it, Yes, well, because my uncle has also
- 35:07Speaker 1: called me out for singing that way in the car
- 35:09Speaker 1: where he's like really nably, you know, every goddamn song
- 35:13Speaker 1: on the radio because I'm just in the back way
- 35:15Speaker 1: and I can't stop this feeling anymore because it's she's
- 35:20Speaker 1: got choreography.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Yes, she like has the pillow with her at some point.
- 35:27Speaker 2: I think she carries a pillow with her. It's the
- 35:30Speaker 2: whole thing, and it's really I loved it. I almost
- 35:33Speaker 2: forgot about it. I'm glad you brought that up.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Oh no, it's my favorite part of the movie. I
- 35:37Speaker 1: love when, for no reason whatsoever, there's a musical number
- 35:43Speaker 1: within the movie.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Right, Oh my god, so good. So then where do
- 35:48Speaker 2: we go after that?
- 35:48Speaker 1: So then you're gv even though well he she lets
- 35:53Speaker 1: him mutually masturbate.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Her because in the beginning when he's going through her,
- 36:01Speaker 2: which is funny, like, did they have those big vibrators something?
- 36:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, those big ones, right, yeah, vibrators.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Were huge in the eighties because they were like back massagers,
- 36:11Speaker 1: like Amazon will tell you today that they're still bad massagers.
- 36:14Speaker 1: But like I believe the specific one that they're using
- 36:19Speaker 1: in the movie is called like the Wand or magic Wond,
- 36:22Speaker 1: the Magic Wond, I know exactly what.
- 36:26Speaker 2: And that's why I'm was like, hmmm, I didn't know
- 36:27Speaker 2: they had him back then. But they do kind of
- 36:29Speaker 2: make it look something about it does look very eighties yes, and.
- 36:36Speaker 1: I'm watching it and I'm like, what a sex positive
- 36:38Speaker 1: queen that Lisa Frankenstein and all of her weird I
- 36:42Speaker 1: guess has a has her vibrator already. I was like,
- 36:45Speaker 1: I was like in my mid twenties when I.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Got rad Yeah, I did not have one in high school,
- 36:51Speaker 2: that's right.
- 36:52Speaker 1: I was like I was master leading with like weird
- 36:54Speaker 1: shit in high school because like you're not letting people
- 36:57Speaker 1: know they're mastering.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Being pillows. Yeah that's what it is, you know. But yeah,
- 37:05Speaker 2: Lisa is advanced compared to us. And she tells him
- 37:09Speaker 2: it's a back massager, right, so he's maasaging her back
- 37:12Speaker 2: with it because she says like she basically starts to
- 37:15Speaker 2: realize like that he has feel like he can feel things,
- 37:18Speaker 2: and she's like, wow, I guess it would like suck
- 37:20Speaker 2: to sleep in the closet, wouldn't it. When she like
- 37:23Speaker 2: invites him into the bad and I just think it's
- 37:25Speaker 2: so funny that there's never any any like running into
- 37:31Speaker 2: him in the house. It's it almost like isn't even
- 37:34Speaker 2: like come close to happening, which is funny, Like just
- 37:37Speaker 2: the few times that she shoves him in the closet,
- 37:39Speaker 2: like it's like they are in their own little world
- 37:42Speaker 2: and somehow Tappy and Dad just don't well.
- 37:45Speaker 1: And it does just kind of feel like those first
- 37:47Speaker 1: moments in a relationship where you forget that other.
- 37:50Speaker 2: People exist, right, right? Oh, is this when she says
- 37:57Speaker 2: something about sleeping with him, how sleeping with the creature
- 38:02Speaker 2: or with the crush with the creature? Because for some reason,
- 38:06Speaker 2: I obviously we know that it happens before she confronts, right,
- 38:11Speaker 2: you know, so it had the conversation has to happen first,
- 38:14Speaker 2: so like, but that's when we find out the creature
- 38:18Speaker 2: has no penis. Penis, he has no penis. There's not
- 38:22Speaker 2: really like any other like explanation.
- 38:26Speaker 1: And now that I'm thinking about it, I'm like, was
- 38:29Speaker 1: Lisa trying to practice all the creatures so she'd be
- 38:32Speaker 1: good at it for her crush? Because like, at what
- 38:35Speaker 1: point does that come up where he's just like, guess
- 38:37Speaker 1: what no penis?
- 38:38Speaker 2: Like you know, she thinks, she's well, she's like, we're
- 38:41Speaker 2: gonna die. I'm gonna like, I'm gonna get caught. I
- 38:43Speaker 2: only have like so much time because like she knows
- 38:46Speaker 2: that they're Oh, Taffy gets her gets her Backtuck and
- 38:50Speaker 2: she comes home and she's like, I canna call mom,
- 38:53Speaker 2: and she calls like all the hotels and she's so funny,
- 38:56Speaker 2: but how like she really is like like, oh, the
- 38:59Speaker 2: this single hotel she knew with the dance on the
- 39:01Speaker 2: phone describing like her mom. He's like, what eye color?
- 39:05Speaker 2: And she just takes the phone and she tells him,
- 39:07Speaker 2: like tells them like the eye color, hair color, what
- 39:10Speaker 2: perfume she's wearing, what clothes she was wearing, like she
- 39:13Speaker 2: it's just so funny. I'm like, wow, that is the
- 39:16Speaker 2: Tappy character is just she's so observant obviously and like
- 39:22Speaker 2: smart I do like I do well, Poor Tappy. At
- 39:27Speaker 2: the end, Tappy really goes through well dead too, but
- 39:31Speaker 2: Tappy really goes through it because then we're getting to
- 39:34Speaker 2: a point where Lisa is like, you know what, like
- 39:37Speaker 2: I need to lose my virginity. I'm gonna die. I'm
- 39:40Speaker 2: gonna go to jail. I don't think she like always,
- 39:42Speaker 2: I think it dissipated dying. And instead of going to jail,
- 39:45Speaker 2: like she knew that was how it was gonna end,
- 39:47Speaker 2: she goes into the CRUSH's house because he leaves on
- 39:50Speaker 2: certain periods like if his car's not if he's not
- 39:53Speaker 2: at school, he's at home. And she knows this like
- 39:56Speaker 2: because she's a creep and like not because yeah, not
- 40:00Speaker 2: because he's ever invited her over or anything. And she
- 40:04Speaker 2: goes like she sees his cars there and like busts
- 40:07Speaker 2: into the house. But our creature also sees another car
- 40:12Speaker 2: that's familiar and it's Taffy's car, and it really sucks.
- 40:18Speaker 2: We see Lisa go in and find out that Taffy
- 40:22Speaker 2: and crush Boy are intimate. Yeah, they're like super into
- 40:28Speaker 2: each other. Something. I hate the way he talks to her,
- 40:31Speaker 2: like when she confronts it and he's like, oh, kiddo,
- 40:34Speaker 2: he says, kttle, I wanted to like punch in and
- 40:37Speaker 2: Taffy Taffy was just being like taffy about it.
- 40:41Speaker 1: But then well then the creature comes in because everyone's yelling,
- 40:47Speaker 1: which I will say is like a big part of
- 40:51Speaker 1: the original Frankenstein story is that, like Frankenstein truly only
- 40:55Speaker 1: acts out because other people are screaming and yelling and
- 40:58Speaker 1: he gets stressed.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, he just gets worked up. He doesn't know
- 41:02Speaker 2: what to do.
- 41:03Speaker 1: WHOA So the creature, after being racially profiled in the
- 41:12Speaker 1: yard because That was also a favorite part for my
- 41:15Speaker 1: personal movie experience.
- 41:17Speaker 2: There was this look.
- 41:18Speaker 1: There was a woman, she was a black woman, and
- 41:21Speaker 1: she had brought her pizza hut into the movie with
- 41:23Speaker 1: her and she was just having a solo date. And
- 41:25Speaker 1: I was like, queen, love it, love it? Do you
- 41:29Speaker 1: want to be back here next week for drive by Dolls?
- 41:31Speaker 1: We're here every week, right, we have a scheduled time.
- 41:36Speaker 1: We have a scheduled time. And with the when the
- 41:40Speaker 1: old man neighbor is like, ah ah, not this kind
- 41:43Speaker 1: in my yard, she went.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Oh, I just started laughing. Oh my wait, that's in
- 41:51Speaker 2: the I don't know if I think I like missed
- 41:54Speaker 2: the part that was right before he goes in.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Yeah, because he's parked in the car and she's told
- 41:58Speaker 1: him not to go anywhere.
- 42:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, because he just like learns how to
- 42:05Speaker 2: drive and he drives.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Well, and he like kills that guy because he's mean
- 42:09Speaker 1: to a son or something and the sun does not care.
- 42:12Speaker 1: This sounds like, thank God, maybe I can have a
- 42:14Speaker 1: dreamsickle now.
- 42:16Speaker 2: He just he uses a what did he used to
- 42:19Speaker 2: call him with that It wasn't a tool. Yeah, and
- 42:23Speaker 2: there's something in the car. Oh, it's one of those.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Anti device anti theft devices.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Like it's an anti theft device, it's not a weapon.
- 42:33Speaker 2: And he's driving like two miles an hour, and you know,
- 42:39Speaker 2: we obviously kind of related to the fact that like
- 42:41Speaker 2: he rode like a horse and buggy before and he's
- 42:45Speaker 2: all like embarrassed because and then actually I think was
- 42:50Speaker 2: right before, yes, because he drives her too.
- 42:54Speaker 1: So everyone's screaming, it's chaos. The creature gets all worked up.
- 42:58Speaker 1: He comes lumbering up the stairs and he cuts up
- 43:03Speaker 1: the crushes pete us and then Tappy loses her mind
- 43:06Speaker 1: and Lisa is screamy.
- 43:08Speaker 2: No, that's not what anyone wanted you to do.
- 43:14Speaker 1: And doubt Taffy's screamy because Lisa is just like besties
- 43:18Speaker 1: with the guy who just killed her boyfriend.
- 43:23Speaker 2: And got his wee are off. Oh my god. And
- 43:28Speaker 2: so I didn't. I mean I don't know. It took
- 43:30Speaker 2: me a second to like understand why. And then he
- 43:34Speaker 2: points out like I don't have one. I don't have one,
- 43:38Speaker 2: and he uses Taffy like totally loses her mind, like
- 43:42Speaker 2: I think she puts her and like she just starts
- 43:44Speaker 2: walking with no shoes on, and she's like covered w
- 43:47Speaker 2: she's like very she's like, my mom's missing, Like she literally,
- 43:53Speaker 2: like at that point, was so concerned about her mom
- 43:56Speaker 2: and Lisa just kept being like she's fine, don't okay,
- 44:02Speaker 2: Like Lisa is like, you know what, Taffy, I just
- 44:04Speaker 2: wanted to say thank you for always being nice to be.
- 44:07Speaker 2: You are my sister, you are a sister to be
- 44:10Speaker 2: and it.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Can't be sweet at all because that's covered in blood
- 44:15Speaker 1: and in a feuse steak.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Very much in shock, like she's just I don't. I think,
- 44:22Speaker 2: I don't know if you see her after that until
- 44:25Speaker 2: the flash for yes.
- 44:27Speaker 1: And I think and I think, like Lisa being convinced
- 44:30Speaker 1: that like, okay, we killed my step we killed Dug
- 44:33Speaker 1: the lab partner, and we killed the crush. This is
- 44:37Speaker 1: only ending up with me being in a blaze of
- 44:39Speaker 1: glory and I have to take control of it is
- 44:43Speaker 1: still like part of her main character delusion.
- 44:46Speaker 2: It totally is, It totally is and she so I
- 44:51Speaker 2: think it goes right after that. Well, I think that no,
- 44:54Speaker 2: first she sews on the penis pis. My favorite thing
- 44:58Speaker 2: is when he tells heard that and he's like he's
- 45:03Speaker 2: like embarrassed to tell her that he did Kevin, you
- 45:05Speaker 2: can tell him. She's like, oh, that's like the least
- 45:08Speaker 2: important thing about being a man. And I'm like, you
- 45:11Speaker 2: know what, that's that's a good point. That is a
- 45:14Speaker 2: very good point. Like I love that she said that
- 45:16Speaker 2: they end up exact.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Yeah, two Ario speed wagons. I can't stop this feeling
- 45:23Speaker 1: before how can I forget? And it's the first time
- 45:26Speaker 1: that we see Cole Sprouse's actual face.
- 45:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah, because he's like finally.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Right, because the more she shocks on, the more boyfriend
- 45:36Speaker 1: material he becomes.
- 45:37Speaker 2: Right. Oh my god. So then fast forward to well
- 45:43Speaker 2: after she and him have sex, then she like suicides
- 45:48Speaker 2: herself in a tanning that yeah, to avoid the police,
- 45:52Speaker 2: and he like sits in a fold out chat at
- 45:56Speaker 2: the point with like a tanning like scream. And when
- 46:00Speaker 2: that like the last thing that she said to him,
- 46:02Speaker 2: I can't remember what it was, but I was like
- 46:04Speaker 2: such the whole time. I was like, it's gonna be
- 46:07Speaker 2: like we belong dead, like and Bride of Franking's sign,
- 46:10Speaker 2: and it wasn't. But you know what, that's okay because
- 46:14Speaker 2: it's not the same. It's the own thing, you know.
- 46:18Speaker 2: But she like burns up in that and I don't
- 46:23Speaker 2: know why, like he didn't he doesn't stay there though, right,
- 46:26Speaker 2: and where does he go? So I feel like he
- 46:29Speaker 2: left the building and you just see like and of course,
- 46:32Speaker 2: because it's just the garage, the whole house isn't like
- 46:35Speaker 2: on fire or anything. Yeah, everybody comes to see a
- 46:40Speaker 2: flash for well one is they they see each other
- 46:43Speaker 2: in the afterlife and she's like covered. They're like together obviously,
- 46:48Speaker 2: and she's like covered in bandi or bandages? Is it
- 46:53Speaker 2: the afterlife? Though?
- 46:55Speaker 1: I literally thought that like the final burnout made him
- 46:59Speaker 1: human and then she got to be a zombie and
- 47:01Speaker 1: it was a complete role reversal.
- 47:05Speaker 2: That's way smarter than what I was thinking. Wow, that
- 47:10Speaker 2: would make sense because she is like, so what are
- 47:13Speaker 2: we going to do to get her give? I guess
- 47:16Speaker 2: just stay banged.
- 47:18Speaker 1: Yeah, because I was like, oh, I want the sequel,
- 47:21Speaker 1: I want him as the except for I don't because
- 47:24Speaker 1: the beauty of this movie too is that, like the
- 47:26Speaker 1: main male protagonist is silent the entire movie until the.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Very end, exactly when he's reading her poetry.
- 47:34Speaker 1: But yeah, like now they just get to be a
- 47:37Speaker 1: zombie monster couple for possibly eternity.
- 47:42Speaker 2: It's amazing and we see that Tappy and dad are
- 47:47Speaker 2: still together. You know, he didn't abandon his stepdaughter, and
- 47:53Speaker 2: like we kind of end with her seeing them looking
- 47:55Speaker 2: at like visus too stronge and it's a loved wife
- 48:00Speaker 2: and like Taffy noticed it that the dad didn't, and
- 48:03Speaker 2: it's like she goes, who would break the flowers? Here
- 48:06Speaker 2: is it? She could not understand why anybody would really
- 48:10Speaker 2: says tombstone flowers and it was all him and he
- 48:15Speaker 2: was really cute, I know, and I'm pretty sure that's
- 48:17Speaker 2: why I was like, this is the most romantic movie
- 48:20Speaker 2: I've ever seen. It is. It's so good. So now
- 48:26Speaker 2: I don't know this comparison if it's really off, because
- 48:30Speaker 2: I hadn't said it's gonna be in a long time.
- 48:31Speaker 2: But part of me wants to watch Warm Bodies again, yeah,
- 48:35Speaker 2: because it kind of has a similar vibe. But the
- 48:38Speaker 2: but the man zombie is the main character I think
- 48:41Speaker 2: in that so it's kind of incredible and he talks
- 48:45Speaker 2: the entire time what a crime? I know, Okay, not
- 48:51Speaker 2: rewatching it again, No, I love.
- 48:53Speaker 1: The movie theater and I was like, I really want
- 48:55Speaker 1: to rewatch Jennifer's Body because I'm mean Diablo Cody is
- 49:01Speaker 1: just so witty with all of it.
- 49:04Speaker 2: It's so good, and I kind of love that, like
- 49:07Speaker 2: they came out so far apart, like they're fifteen. Like
- 49:10Speaker 2: it's not like she's I mean I really looked at
- 49:13Speaker 2: her discuss or her filmography and like, wasn't I didn't
- 49:18Speaker 2: know a lot of stuff. I think she has a
- 49:20Speaker 2: lot of music videos in between, which I think is
- 49:22Speaker 2: kind of cool, Like she doesn't. It seems like she
- 49:25Speaker 2: may not like rush a project until you know she's ready,
- 49:30Speaker 2: which I think is great. You know, things take longer,
- 49:33Speaker 2: but well, and as you know, I'm the most.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Grateful that you, Elizabeth and other people have really gotten
- 49:41Speaker 1: me back into horror, because.
- 49:44Speaker 2: You know, there's.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Mainstream horror and it does really lean towards the male gaze.
- 49:49Speaker 1: And now all of a sudden, my world has like
- 49:51Speaker 1: opened up to ginger staffs and like Lisa Frankenstein in
- 49:55Speaker 1: All Heather's the Craft and you remember, I'm like, oh,
- 50:00Speaker 1: you know, women have always owned horror, like all of
- 50:04Speaker 1: the cult classics are women.
- 50:07Speaker 2: And like the Final Girl is like such like it's
- 50:11Speaker 2: such a thing, like it's such a trope in like
- 50:14Speaker 2: eighties horror, especially like slashers and stuff, and you know,
- 50:18Speaker 2: in the eighties, there's a really great documentary about the
- 50:22Speaker 2: rise and fall of the slasher film and they kind
- 50:24Speaker 2: of show I don't know if these guys are like
- 50:26Speaker 2: music porters or whatever, but they're very anti horror and
- 50:29Speaker 2: they say that like horror is like demeaning to women
- 50:33Speaker 2: and like all this, like they flip the whole narrative.
- 50:36Speaker 2: And I just remember being so frustrated, and I think
- 50:39Speaker 2: a lot of women in horror probably were because like,
- 50:41Speaker 2: you clearly aren't even paying attention because the women, I mean, yes,
- 50:45Speaker 2: there's things and obviously there's overexploitation of you know, there's
- 50:49Speaker 2: like you know, they had boobs in every movie back then,
- 50:53Speaker 2: but like it wasn't that's not like what the movie
- 50:57Speaker 2: is about, Like that was just to get the people
- 50:59Speaker 2: in the theater. I feel like mostly, you know what
- 51:01Speaker 2: I mean.
- 51:02Speaker 1: Because think of how poorly they marketed Jennifer's Body to
- 51:06Speaker 1: where I think that women were kind of turned off
- 51:09Speaker 1: by the idea of Jennifer's body and then it was
- 51:14Speaker 1: what the marketing never clicked until it became a cult classic,
- 51:18Speaker 1: was oh, no, Jennifer's Body is for the girlies.
- 51:21Speaker 2: Yeah, right. I didn't see it right away. We had
- 51:25Speaker 2: it on DVD. Michael watched it, and I remember him
- 51:28Speaker 2: telling me like years before, you know, you should probably
- 51:32Speaker 2: watch it. I think it's a biked. But I wasn't, like,
- 51:36Speaker 2: I don't know. I just didn't think it seemed that good,
- 51:39Speaker 2: like and I didn't really know. I don't feel like
- 51:42Speaker 2: and that isn't the way it is now obviously, you know,
- 51:44Speaker 2: so you only really heard people, you know, and what
- 51:47Speaker 2: they talk about it, and nobody really talked about it.
- 51:49Speaker 2: So but then I want to say, it was like,
- 51:52Speaker 2: so it came out two thousand and nine. I want
- 51:54Speaker 2: to say at third twenty sixteen. Twenty fifteen was probably
- 51:57Speaker 2: the first time I like sat down and watch it
- 51:59Speaker 2: and I was like, holy shit. Ginger Snaps was the
- 52:02Speaker 2: same way. I feel like. I watched them kind of
- 52:04Speaker 2: like close together, like with the Senior or something, where
- 52:08Speaker 2: like I was just like, these movies are fucking amazing, amazing,
- 52:12Speaker 2: How do I ever live? Right? Like I was like,
- 52:15Speaker 2: how I like, I'm mad because I used to see
- 52:18Speaker 2: like the Ginger Snaps like tape at Blockbuster, and I
- 52:22Speaker 2: just like it never seemed I didn't really like Monster
- 52:25Speaker 2: movies back then, Like I didn't really watch any. Now
- 52:29Speaker 2: I'm like, where we'll sign me up? Like the back
- 52:32Speaker 2: then it wasn't necessarily which I don't even know if
- 52:34Speaker 2: they said that on the case. So like whatever I
- 52:36Speaker 2: read on the case, I didn't seem we would always
- 52:39Speaker 2: pick something up.
- 52:39Speaker 1: I will be a little bit embarrassed when they make
- 52:42Speaker 1: Twilight into a scripted series because I'm gonna have to
- 52:45Speaker 1: watch it, Like, you know, how are we not gonna
- 52:48Speaker 1: watch it?
- 52:49Speaker 2: I never watched the ovisuals. Well, I never watched the
- 52:52Speaker 2: movies either, but I read all the books. Okay I
- 52:55Speaker 2: didn't did they see this? I was really into Truly
- 52:59Speaker 2: Blood True Blood simultaneously happening at that point, and I
- 53:05Speaker 2: was very into True Blood and I don't know I
- 53:08Speaker 2: yet Twilight the books are good? Is that the one?
- 53:13Speaker 2: Because I remember I compare that and fifty Shades Degree
- 53:18Speaker 2: and make their popularity when they came out, and I
- 53:21Speaker 2: know one of them was poorly written, was it fifty
- 53:23Speaker 2: Shades Degree?
- 53:24Speaker 1: They're both poorly written, but fifty Shades of Gray takes
- 53:27Speaker 1: the competition because fifty Shades is based off of Twilight fanfit.
- 53:33Speaker 2: Yes, yes, my friend just told me that I had
- 53:36Speaker 2: no idea. I had no idea, so like, and Twilight's
- 53:39Speaker 2: written for like young adults, so like you kind of
- 53:42Speaker 2: get a pass like with your wearing. I know, I
- 53:45Speaker 2: maybe I do want Christina see it, though, but I
- 53:48Speaker 2: never wanted to watch it because like they're so cheesy
- 53:50Speaker 2: and like.
- 53:51Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I don't know this that when I was
- 53:54Speaker 1: a teenager watching the first well, I guess I was
- 53:57Speaker 1: a sophomore in college watching the first Twilight movie. Twilight
- 54:01Speaker 1: turned me off of Kristen Stewart to the point where
- 54:04Speaker 1: I was like, she can't act. She's kind of shitty, right, God, Like,
- 54:10Speaker 1: she's not my type of woman that I want to
- 54:13Speaker 1: be watching. And now I'm literally counting down minutes until
- 54:18Speaker 1: I can go see Love Lives Lies Bleeding. There's something
- 54:21Speaker 1: about cinema currently that's so feminine and so gay that
- 54:25Speaker 1: gay coded feminine. I find this boomy, even though every
- 54:29Speaker 1: relationship is very hetero in the movie, to be so
- 54:32Speaker 1: gay coded, just like Jennifer's body.
- 54:36Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, I could definitely see that.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Lisa gives me real, big, chaotic bisexual energy. Yes, it
- 54:44Speaker 1: could be that all chaos bisexuals our main characters and
- 54:48Speaker 1: we just walked through life, being like, of course the
- 54:51Speaker 1: store would be robbed while I'm here. This is but
- 54:55Speaker 1: yet another chapter in my life.
- 54:58Speaker 2: Right, my story.
- 55:03Speaker 1: What's great about Katherine Newton is she pulls off this
- 55:07Speaker 1: very subtle way of It's like Katherine Newton isn't acting
- 55:12Speaker 1: for the camera. Lisa Swallows is acting for life. You
- 55:18Speaker 1: know those people who think that, like they're walking through
- 55:21Speaker 1: scenes and like every the way that they stand is
- 55:25Speaker 1: very cinematic. The way that they talk is very cinematic.
- 55:29Speaker 2: Yeah, that's so. That's such a good point.
- 55:32Speaker 1: I know because I do it same from there. It's
- 55:37Speaker 1: a hell of a it's a hell of a time
- 55:39Speaker 1: to be alive, to be a woman who loves film,
- 55:42Speaker 1: because it feels like due to the writer strike, that
- 55:46Speaker 1: all of the smaller studios, yeah like will follow the
- 55:50Speaker 1: strike rules and they actually got to produce their movies
- 55:54Speaker 1: and now they're getting movies like Drive By Dolls, which
- 55:58Speaker 1: is about two lesbians. Love life is bleeding. Lisa Frankenstein
- 56:03Speaker 1: is going to be a cult classic at some point.
- 56:05Speaker 1: And it's just like I can't get enough of the
- 56:10Speaker 1: I loved that American fiction. I believe one best screenplay
- 56:16Speaker 1: Last Night at the Oscars. Okay, I haven't seen that. Yeah,
- 56:20Speaker 1: it won one of the writing awards, and now I'm
- 56:24Speaker 1: insecure about what the writing awards are called for the Oscars.
- 56:27Speaker 1: But I think it was like original screenplay.
- 56:30Speaker 2: Or maybe yeah, because adapted they do original and adapted.
- 56:34Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe it was adapted screenplay because I think American
- 56:37Speaker 1: Fiction is based.
- 56:38Speaker 2: Off of the book.
- 56:39Speaker 1: Okay, I loved American Fiction because it finally feels like
- 56:44Speaker 1: white men got out of my movie theater, right. It
- 56:50Speaker 1: finally feels like, yeah, it feels like safe to decenter
- 56:54Speaker 1: white men and heteronormativity from my movie experience.
- 56:59Speaker 2: Right, which is really wonderful when you start to experience
- 57:03Speaker 2: it right, you know.
- 57:05Speaker 1: Okay, And I also have to make sure that you
- 57:07Speaker 1: and everyone else is aware of Zendaiya's movie that's going
- 57:11Speaker 1: to be coming up this spring or summer that's not Dune.
- 57:14Speaker 1: It's called The Challengers and it's about her being a
- 57:18Speaker 1: tennis prow who gets injured and her way to cope
- 57:23Speaker 1: with being injured is to sexually torture like two white
- 57:26Speaker 1: boys and like hin them against one another. And I
- 57:29Speaker 1: was like, this is also gay. I can't explain it.
- 57:32Speaker 1: It might just be how I'm feeling.
- 57:35Speaker 2: Oh my god, that sounds so good. A married h
- 57:43Speaker 2: But it's like it stars Katherine Isabel who Ginger, and
- 57:49Speaker 2: she's a med student, like she's like to be a surgeon.
- 57:54Speaker 2: She's in med school, but like she can't make the bills.
- 57:57Speaker 2: She's like, you know, kind of run, you know, put
- 58:00Speaker 2: for her money or whatever, and finds herself in these
- 58:03Speaker 2: in this situation where there's this underground market of like
- 58:08Speaker 2: body modification that like isn't like legally done, so she
- 58:14Speaker 2: starts doing it like just like little projects at first,
- 58:19Speaker 2: and then because I think she fails out of like
- 58:22Speaker 2: med school or something, but there's a little something that
- 58:25Speaker 2: happens in it and she gets her her REVCT. Honestly
- 58:31Speaker 2: like one of my like it's one of my favorite,
- 58:33Speaker 2: like especially like feminine feminist movies. It was directed by
- 58:36Speaker 2: the Soskas, the Twins. We really didn't done like a
- 58:39Speaker 2: whole lot of popular.
- 58:41Speaker 1: All right, well, I am going to tell the Tolerators
- 58:43Speaker 1: goodbye because we gave them a very Is there any
- 58:46Speaker 1: lasting thing you did want to meet? Bring up that
- 58:49Speaker 1: Zelda Williams is the daughter of Robin Williams.
- 58:52Speaker 2: I totally forgot and I text you that earlier. It
- 58:55Speaker 2: was off. Zelda Williams have Robin Williams daughter. I think
- 58:58Speaker 2: that's really cool.
- 58:59Speaker 1: That does make I think it's very cool that after
- 59:03Speaker 1: everything that Robin Williams went through, that Zella does now
- 59:06Speaker 1: create any films.
- 59:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and that she's on like behind the camera where
- 59:11Speaker 2: maybe you don't have as much pressure as you know,
- 59:14Speaker 2: like obviously Robin had. You know, I hope she. I
- 59:19Speaker 2: hope she makes one movies, but I hope both of
- 59:21Speaker 2: them makes one movies.
- 59:22Speaker 1: They were a great team. They were I honestly, instead
- 59:26Speaker 1: of the Marvel universe, I could do a Diablo Cody
- 59:29Speaker 1: every year.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Oh you too, bring it on. She can tackle any
- 59:34Speaker 2: like she kind of so she did like a cull
- 59:36Speaker 2: possess and then you know you have this like Creature's
- 59:40Speaker 2: Monster movie. I mean, there's a lot of other options
- 59:43Speaker 2: that she could do. You know, she could do like
- 59:46Speaker 2: a well where movie would probably be two English nois,
- 59:49Speaker 2: but I would be here for for it. Vampire.
- 59:51Speaker 1: I could see her having a very Lost Boys vibe
- 59:55Speaker 1: for a vampire movie.
- 59:57Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and it would be with women and it
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: would be amazing because Lost Boys is amazing. But there's
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: so many men, but there's so many men. There's only
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: two women in the whole fucking cast. Honestly, Now then
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: we think about it, it's like the mom, the girl,
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: and then the little girl, the three. Oh.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna ask you this because I asked Jad this
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: when we did a recording for International Women's Month too.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: How are you celebrating womanhood this month for March? Well,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: I am celebrating womanhood by there's probably a few different things.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: I well, like quick drinking a couple of days ago.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: Not that this is like I feel like, it's just
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: kind of like it was.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: It's like the first time that I like have made
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: this decision like solely on my own, and like not
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: like I've done it because Michael's quit drinking before and
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: I've just kind of like been there as like a
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: partner with that. But like so I feel like I'm
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: really focusing on like my like health and like getting
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: back mentally too, because I'm in therapy. It just went
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: back to therapy, So I'm working on being like a
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: new a whole new woman over here, just trying to
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: like be be better.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: I guess yeah, I could honestly give up drinking tomorrow
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: and I don't think anyone would notice, because.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: Like that's how little I ever care about drinking. That's awesome.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: I grew up with a family that is very the
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: alcohol is very pushed, so it's like very abnormal to
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: not drink. So it took a while so I get
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: to that point, you know.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: But I now Coca Cola that I have to put
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: myself all the twelve step program if I want to
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: give up Coca Cola.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm really really a big pop girl too, so
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: I totally understood. I was saying it to my therapist today.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: I was like, part of it is like when I
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: wasn't drink, because there was like a good year where
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: I didn't drink, and I was like drinking so much more.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: I was like working out more. I felt like I
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: just like felt physically so much better. And I'm like, well,
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: now then I went back to like kind of like
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: having a drink, you know, here and there, and then
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: it's like I'm already dealing with trying to rehydrate myself
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: from my coffee and my pop. Yeah, and then you're
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: adding in alcohols like only making it ten times worse,
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: you know. So like that was that was like component too.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: I love my pop. I love pop. Thank you Darcy
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: for bed here to talk about Lisa Frakin's side. It
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: was so much fun. It was so much fun. I'm
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: really glad you had me on. I loved it. Thanks
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: Patreon members and tolerators for helping support the show.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: I hope you have a fantastic Women's International Month, and
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: I hope that you're enjoying all of the insane blog
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: posts that I'm writing and the little snippets of the
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: misogyny email down. It's time to start having fun in
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: my brand of feminism.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: Yes, yes, fun is on the horizon. We're ready.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: We're ready. We've decentered men and now we're making fun
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: of
