Transcript
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: All right, I'm so excited about today.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Hilary McVeigh is the founder of Designed as You, a former lawyer, turned human design teacher, entrepreneur, and practitioner.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: After experiencing burnout and realizing she was living a life that looked right but felt deeply wrong, Hilary discovered human design and gene keys.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: That journey has transformed how she's lived, worked, and made decisions, ultimately leading her to build a global community.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: Through her podcast, Designed As You, along with her teachings, events, programs, Hillary blends human design, gene keys, psychology, parts work, semantics.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Oh gosh, I'm so excited.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: And ancient wisdom to help people release conditioning, trust themselves, and create lives and businesses that feel genuinely true to who they are.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Welcome, Hilary.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: I can't wait for this conversation.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Sharon.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: So lovely to be with you here.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: It's so wonderful.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: We uh we met about 12 or 18 months ago.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: I think I reached out to you and I had a session with you that really has stayed with me and I've loved following your journey.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: And I'm so excited about having this conversation.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: And I know my audience is going to be over the moon to hear about what you've got to say.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: So let's kick it off.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: What finally gave you the courage to leave law after investing so much time into it?
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: What was the big shift for you?
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: It got to the point where I felt like I had no other decision.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: I think sometimes there's that quote, I think it's by Rumi.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: It says that um there comes a moment when the pain of remaining in the bud becomes so much more unbearable than allowing yourself to blossom.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: And that's how I felt.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: I remember even people reflecting back to me about how brave it was that I was leaving Laura.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: And absolutely, there was like, you know, at least two years there of contemplating it, wanting it.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: What else would I do though?
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: And you know, tapping into courage and then tapping straight back into fear and the the trues and froes, and it really did catapult me onto this journey that I'm now on.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: But there was just a moment where I was like, I just can't do it anymore.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: And I'm so grateful now looking back that it got as bad as it got internally.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: I think uh my health started to decline.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: I started to have panic attacks, I lost my period.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: I still have a really vivid memory of, you know, doing all the things.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: Like I went to acupuncture.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: I was like trying to um, you know, uh any way in which I could feel like was supporting me, all the supplements, all the okay, like I'll try meditation, all the things that I love now.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: Um, and I just still remember this really wise, my acupuncturist, wise um elder Chinese woman just said to me one day, she was just like, Hilary, I think you just need to quit your job.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: Like she was doing all the things that she could do, and she just looked at me.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, I had a few people reflect that back to me as well.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: And again, I just kept on no, I can keep doing it, I can keep doing it.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: And it just became to the point where it was so out of alignment with who I was becoming.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: I remember about a week before I ended up uh um quitting, I took myself to what's at the Gold Coast, so near you actually.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: And um, I spent a week where I just like no phone, no nothing.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: And I it's almost like I tapped into my future self because I gave myself a little retreat.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: Now I run retreats, but I didn't know what I was doing, but it was just meditation, journaling, um, visualizations.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: I was doing somatics without really knowing what that meant.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: I was doing really long beach walks, sauna, letting go, crying.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: And I remember returning back and my sister saw me and she was like, Where have you been?
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: And you look totally different.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: Like I was had this like energy back, I had my energy back.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: And even my sister coined it like the Hillary retreat again before I started doing retreats.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: Um and yeah, I had the moment of courage of just like I can't do this anymore.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: And I had nothing to fall back on, I had no um real idea what I was going to be doing.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: But I yeah, I moved overseas, I moved to Berlin and I worked in a startup there, and that helped me learn and create confidence that I could run a business or I could be, you know, somewhat um rather than I guess a lawyer.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: That's all I had known.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: And um, yeah, I just kept on exploring and the self-development, understanding, learning, teachers, like you know, they say that when the student is ready, the teacher arrives.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: And that was very much the case for me.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: And what what was that for you?
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: Who was that for you?
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: Oh gosh, like it just podcasts, like podcasts like this.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: We are so lucky, we are so spoiled with our access.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: We can say, you know, we can roll our eyes or be annoyed at social media, but we have so much access to um beyond what is our, I guess, um, echo chamber of our current life, of just the people that are around you.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: And I remember especially at this time in uh when I was in law, I I remember feeling like I felt so other and so no one else was feeling the way that I was feeling.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: I remember just being like, well, everyone else seems to be okay with this, I guess.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: You know what I was like the normal path.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: I would look around and be like, well, I guess no one else seems to be like thinking other questions or questioning this.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: And uh so it really honestly was podcasts at first.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, I I guess it was when I started to connect with human design.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: I started to love um Vedic, uh astrology at the time, um, you know, as well just hearing other people that started businesses and entrepreneurial journeys, just to be like, oh, well, that's possible.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: You know, hearing about people that, you know, what we would think of as expanders now, of people that can inspire us, of like, oh, well, if they can do it, then why can't I?
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: And yeah, I feel like it was really uh remembering, if anything, it was like, oh, I know this, or oh, that makes sense, or oh, this is why I feel the certain way.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: And it just kept accumulating.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Um, and I would also love to like travel in person.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: This was during a period where I was doing so much travel.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: So I would, I was, you know, in Mexico, and then when there was teachers in person there, I would be in Spain, teachers in person there, um, London, like I would just travel and it would be like a healer or a just a person that I met at a cafe and they would share things.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: I feel like I was, and I still am, so open to life that it would be just a conversation that would shift the way I would think.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Or I remember even meeting the first coach I ever had met in the real life, and she's now a good friend of mine, Emma.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: Um, she's a turning 30 coach.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: And I remember being like, oh my God, you're actually a coach in real life.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: I'd seen people on Instagram, and I was like, they exist, and this is you, you know, it was in Costa Rica.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: I was like, and you're living this life that I would desire to live.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: So I feel um I this is a teaching from uh about from the Kabbalah around like, yeah, the teacher and the knowledge and the wisdom exists.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: It's just the student's vessel.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: The teacher and the light and universal energy, it's always there.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: It's just whether the vessel, the student, or the one that can receive is ready.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: And the second you are open to it, it just comes flooding in.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: Or people present themselves or spaces.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: It's just about saying yes and being open to it.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I love that.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: I uh there's so many cool things in your intro that I read out, and I just want to dive into them so much.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: I uh I did uh in 2014 or 15, I did uh Vipassana as a 10-day silent meditation.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: I think you've done that as well.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: Um, and look, I I know now still I have the the feelings where you know you pull the energy through the top of your head, and I sometimes I feel like it just comes on automatically.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: It's such a cool thing.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: But I'm really interested to find out more about all of these um the the things that you're an expert in.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: And uh if you could just kind of maybe initially just explain a little bit of what they are.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: So um depending on where you want to start, like with human design, gene keys, uh, parts work, semantics, um, and is it Kabbalah?
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: So are you able to just like share a little bit about what they are?
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're all different wisdoms and modalities, which really point to a similar finding or remembering of your divinity, of your universal nature, your limitless potentiality, the divine love that's within you.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: So uh, you know, human design was my first taste of this.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: You your human design is your energetic blueprint, in which is your, I like to think of it as your higher self in a chart.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: It shows you how to best use your energy in order to create more ease, flow, impact, fulfillment in your life.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: And when I discovered I was a projector, it was very mind-blowing to me because I had been operating in the exact opposite way.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: And no wonder I was feeling sick and frustrated and bitter and lost.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: And so it gave me really practical tools in order to find my way again.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: And from there, I was what's known as being in your human design experiment.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: So it's living from your um passenger consciousness, is what it's known as, where you are in, I guess, surrender to life force within you, to where life is directing you, and your body is communicating that.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: It's telling you this is a yes, it's an expansion, it's a curiosity move towards this.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: Or alternatively, this is a no, we feel a contraction, we feel um uh a loss of life force or a suppression of life force.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: So I was very much in my human design experiment, finding a sense of like, yeah, just who I was.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: I always really struggled with what is my purpose, who am I?
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: And it it made me realize that really it was just this energy in which I was, as I said, a passenger to.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: Um, and from there, I started discovering gene keys.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: So I was learning more about your energetic blueprint.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: It's really the gene keys will share what you're here to learn in this lifetime, the inner transformation, which I love.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: I love.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: I'm very and I think a lot of people, especially if they're what listening to your podcast, would be that growth-minded, that um evolutionary, that um, you know, that deepening of love.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: And that's really what Gene Keys gave me, and I know for so many.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: Well, I did that.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: I should just uh sorry, I'll interrupt you.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: I did that with you last year, and I found it really helpful for me.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: And I know that you've sort of said to me that's not your main one that you work with, but I found it transformative.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: And I know I was I went out afterwards.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: Um, my husband was sitting in the lounge room and he was uh he was able to hear me.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: And he said, Sharon, that was just amazing to listen to.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: So it was a really nice um time that you're like obviously I had to fill out some information and things, and you sort of reflected back to me what mine was, and it was just it was so cool to that.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: So all of these seem to be so sorry, I cut you off there.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: So yes.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's nothing.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: So I think it's great to hear your experience with it because mine was the same when I, you know, first received mine.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: It's just like it's like, oh, okay.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: You almost take a big XL of like, this is who I am, this is um how I'm meant to express in the world.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: There is no need to um yeah, suppress this or shame this or belittle this or doubt this.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: And there really is this big permission slip of just like, oh, this is who I am and this is how I'm meant to be.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: So then how can I almost leverage that and expand through that and and create from that?
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: And yeah, it really is a breath of fresh air for a lot of people when they discover their human design in their jinkies.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: Gives a lot of like, oh, like a meaning in your life.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: Um definitely.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: Then from there, yeah, I continued, continued studying.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: I think um, yeah, Vedic was the next big one.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: I started practicing Vedic meditation, and then this was where I I took things a little bit more further because I was able to access and feel into this oneness, this oneness energy, which human design speaks more to like the practical and the like human experience.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: Whereas when I started to explore Vedic and Kabbalah and Buddhism and um you know energetics, this was all like okay, this is like almost boosting human design.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: Ah, that's why I share human design and jinkies a little bit differently, because it comes with the energy of these ancient wisdoms and even the um the i ching.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: And so all of this is just kind of connecting back to your truth, your energy, your, yeah, your it can't be described by words, but your divinity, your infinite expression and essence.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: And so from that, you know, really leading from from love and from heart.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: And that has meant that, yeah, I've been able to create this incredible business, this community, the people that have been attracted to my podcast, my spaces.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: So it just continued to grow, and I just see myself as like a continual student.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: And then parts work came in, which was all around this is more psychology, around your inner parts, your protective personality.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: We can bring in the subconscious, uh, subconscious here.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: Uh, so we have different parts that get activated within us based on, you know, I believe past lifetimes as well.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: But in your childhood experiences, in your adolescence, where protective personalities have been developed in order to, you know, as the name suggests, protect you from any form of hurt and rejection and abandonment.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: And what it ends up doing though is that it creates a disconnection or it creates a barrier between the things that are actually like gonna be amazing for you, but there is a fear underneath it.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: So I love to use parts work when people are moving through big transitions, wanting to create something new in the world, wanting to be more express.
- 14:03SPEAKER_01: So parts work comes in with that.
- 14:05SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, and again, everything's overlap, so there can be there's a different version of it in the Vedic, in Kabbalah, in human design, but parts work is um a psychology tool.
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, so it's just to be honest, it's all saying the same thing in different ways.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: Interesting, psychology, science, spirituality.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Okay, when you say Aveda, do you mean Ayurveda, though?
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: Um no, no.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: So Ayurveda is a branch, but Ayurveda is more for health.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: It's more, um, I definitely like that's something that I love to like practice here and there, but um, no, it's different from Ayurveda.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: It comes from the same lineage, it's from India.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, because I I remember I got my tongue scraper.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: The different foods that you like, I shouldn't have spicy food or something because yes, yes, bit too spicy already.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: So and then you also something that I just remembered I didn't touch on the somatics so somatics is the body, so somatics is your energy.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: I love breath.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: Breath is my, you know, um, and the kundalini energy.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: So that's all about like the knowledge and the wisdom of the processing in the body.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: Because, you know, with all of the things that I've just mentioned, a lot of that can be very mindy and very perspective shifting and very in the the intellect.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: It's 100% still energy work because you shift the way you think, it totally shifts your energy.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: But then there's the wisdom of the body, and how you know we can have experiences or traumas or uh those protective personality parts in the body.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: So somatics helps to like process to create freedom within your body, which is your energetic body as well.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: So it all goes together, yeah.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: Okay, and it's uh they're all sort of threaded together in some sort of energetic kind of way.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: So like the stuff.
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's just life.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: And I don't know, obviously, um I don't um release the film.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: I always film my podcast, but I don't release those.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: And for the audience, and I'd I'd be really interested to know this for the audience, um, Hillary, you look like you are just life, your your face, and I'm sure you've been told this many times, but you just look so like getting up and natural and happy and just very uh in touch with yourself.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: Like you really do.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: You seem very authentic around the way you look and your expressions.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: I would be really interested to know if you came across like that when you were a solicitor.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: Did that show like did that show the same way on your face and who you are and the way you express yourself?
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um yeah, no, I feel like when I look back on photos there, I feel a little bit dead in the eyes and a bit uh but like it it gives me so much love to her.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: I think my 20s, especially, there was so much insecurity, so much um yeah, sadness.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: And so I I can see it in my eyes, and I can see it, and I I also notice um in photos, it was a bit actually after lore, even it was during the end of it, and even directly afterwards.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: Uh like when I went through this big dark night of the soul, yeah.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: Just like my glands were always swollen.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: I had these really swollen glands, um, this like just general puffiness, which I think I was just like holding so much emotion and retention.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: Um so yeah, it but as well, it's just like I feel it was so purposeful that time.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: So you were saying before that um I can't remember what you said.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: It's like you're in did you say insecure in your life?
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, I was so insecure in my 20s.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: I know, um, you know, a lot of us women feel that insecurity and you know, all the whole thing which you I'm sure would hear a lot from women around am I good enough and am I able to and that the the fear that holds us back from what is inside of us to get us out to the world, you know, talking on podcasts and stages and just having the courage, I think, to be able to communicate with people in such a way to get your outcome and and for for for to put the fear aside for whatever whatever that fear comes from and to be able to do what we want to do and move through life in a way that feels natural and easy.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: How did you move?
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: I'm sure all of these amazing things that you do would help you, but how have you moved through that to believe in yourself?
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: I know you know you've traveled the world, you've got these amazing programs and retreats and things that you do globally.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: How have you become Hillary McVeigh the way you are now?
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: How have you got that confidence?
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: Um I think I first thing that I don't make it about me.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: Like it's not me.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: And I don't mean it in a small inning of myself way.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: I truly feel like there's an energy moving through me that wants to express these things, that feels interested, that gets lit up by this.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: And like the more I use, like if I ever made it about myself, it actually I don't know, it limits it.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: So to like uh go backwards, I think I had to create a sense of just like safety and allowance of who I was.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: I think for a lot of my 20s, like so insecure.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: I was so like I could say I was very vain in the way of just like it was all about like how am I received or things.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: And I say that with so much love to my past self.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: It wasn't coming from a place of I need to look the best.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: It was more like, how do I like not be so hideous or not be so negative?
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: Um, because that's what I truly believed in myself.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: And I think when I released any way of like I need to be confident and just set of like acceptance, I remember even the idea of self-love felt too far away.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: So, like what felt more close or possible was self-acceptance.
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: And so I would set little like challenges for myself.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: So I remember even um when I wasn't in a relationship, I like even on a date, if I went to go on a date, I set the little goal of like, this is not going to be the experience of making sure this person likes me or how can I be the best date for them, you know, and being like, no, how can this be an experience where I find a sense of safety to be me?
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: Same when I would meet friends, same when I would just move through the world of seeing, like, can I show myself that I can be safe to be me?
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: And I didn't know what me was at the time, but what I started realizing, I noticed where I was pretending or forcing or trying, and I would just sit in the discomfort of just like, no, I don't need to do that anymore.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: I don't need to say this impressive thing anymore.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: I don't need to check how I'm being, you know, perceived right now.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: And so I think at the end of the day, if you're asking about like how did I start sharing or how did I start, you know, my social media or my business, it really was because it was bigger than me.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: And I couldn't not.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: And it meant like, I love to ask my clients, is like, what are you, what is so important to you that you are willing to face all your fears and insecurities?
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: And it's so interesting because we think that if you like show up online or start a business, that there's some form of like because you kind of like love what like love yourself or feel so confident in yourself, or there's some form of like, yeah, you think you're the shit a little bit.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: And I actually think it's the opposite.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: Listen, I love that explain that.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: I think it's the opposite.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: Do you know how like I was laughing about this with my sister about like how humbling it is to like share your deepest, deepest thoughts on social media or share a selfie or share a photo of you?
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: I if my ego was in charge, I'd be fully private.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: I would be, I was.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: I used to not upload anything.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: I used to not do anything.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: It was all just like I need to keep a perfected image.
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: It is so humbling to just show yourself and people can pick your.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Apart, people can find faults in you, people can whatever.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: That is, I think, one of the most selfless things.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: Well, that's how I feel.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: I, if my ego was running the show, I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: I'd be not doing this.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: Uh, because sometimes it's very um, yeah, like it's almost embarrassing sometimes.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: So you're really putting yourself out there.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: And so to me, it was never about me being confident, it was just me releasing the ego of um that I need to be perfect or I need to be met the certain way.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: And it was just like this is this is what was wanting to move through me.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: And when I've done that, it's always been the most powerful, and also as well, it's meant that people genuinely connect to you.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: I think I have a lot of reception that people like feel my heart in my work.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: Um, and I couldn't do it any other way.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: I I and you can feel that with you, Hillary.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: And it it reminds me when I I do talk about this a lot because it was transformative for me.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: I did a program with Jane Anderson called Women with Influence in 2017.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: And I was just I was an employee then, so I was part of a group of people, and there were some incredible people in the room.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: Like Jane attracts some incredible clients, and I just felt like a big imposter.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: Like I was like, Oh, I was an employee, I'm just hanging out with these women and I'm just gonna keep it zipped.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: And um, she said, uh, this is with um personal brand, this is where you get to be you.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, yeah, right.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm never showing me ever, because all my life I've been told to be shush or you know, you're too much, or you're too this or you're too that.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: And I I actually said to her, I can't be me, Jane.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: Like, I like I can't.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: And she said, Yes, you can.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: Like some people will love that version of you and some people won't, and that's okay.
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: And I remember thinking, that's just such a novel idea, and which is what you just explained then.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: It's like, and I'm really wanting to ask you when you said it's not about you, and I asked you about the confident, or you know, like you feel it seeming so happy and together and authentic and real, and you said it's not about me.
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: When you say that, because I know like things that I've done before, they've like when you get on stage, be in service to the well, if you're scared, be in service to the audience, and it's not about you.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: And I do that so I don't get nervous because I think, oh, I'm in service to my audience.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: So that but what do you mean it's not about what do you mean by that?
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: And is that an energetic thing?
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, thank you for asking that because I can explain it better.
- 24:39SPEAKER_01: So how I see it, it's like it's not Hill, it's not about Hillary, like it's not about this personality we have, like, or it's not about Sharon.
- 24:46SPEAKER_01: Like, we've literally created a personality that's none of this identity as Hillary or Sharon is real, it's just like this personality we've created.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: So it's your divinity.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: So how I see it, it's just like how you know you can say it like spirit moving through you, or desire moving through you, or energy moving through you.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: So, you know, Hillary, like it sounds always a bit obnoxious when you talk about yourself in third person, but that's really how it could look of like the only person that has preferences of how people receive them, because if you think about confidence, it's just an idea of like whether it's safe to just be, or whether you somehow need to shift or change in order for how people receive you.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: That's a Hillary desire, not your divine, your energy desire.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: Your soul doesn't care, your soul's just expressing.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: And so we have these personality parts.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: Like me, even you being Sharon and me being Hillary is not truth.
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: Like we're we're souls, or we're energy.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: Like we've gotten a name for it, but we're identifying too much with that physical form.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: We're identifying with this like personality part, which people like try and protect.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: It's like even this idea, and I love one of my teachers says like one of the quickest ways to suffering is like caring about your reputation or caring about how people think about you, caring about your identity staying the same, or um, you know, the opinions of others.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: And so when I released that, and that was like I say it, like it was easy, it wasn't.
- 26:22SPEAKER_01: Um more and more released that.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: And that's why it's been super humbling having a business, because as I said, I I cared so much what people thought.
- 26:33SPEAKER_01: And imagine going from law to this, it's like I would have been mortified.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: If you asked my lawyer self, like there was parts of me, I think before that, I'd say maybe before law, I would have been mortified at this idea of this, um, of what I'm doing now, because it would have just been like, but it's so weird.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: And like, you know, what will people think?
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: And especially being visible or like sharing openly.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: Uh so yeah, again, when I made it uh less about defending my personality part and more about just like allowing the freedom that was wanting to be expressed through me.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, I think what what it what I want to kind of communicate is that like when we identify as the body, when we identify as Sharon or Hillary, and what does it mean to protect how people perceive that?
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: That's where we suffer.
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: And when you just allow, yeah, then you're free.
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: There's a guy that I uh follow called Ray Kerz.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: Well, I don't know if you've heard of him, he's a futurist, he's a bit of a cool banana.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: He talks about singularity.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't know if you um No, I haven't heard.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: He's uh he's a cool guy, he's got 21 honorary doctorates and he does he has been talking for many, many years about singularity.
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: And at some point, uh, that and I won't go into details with that, but basically he's uh he's a professor and he's he's got a laboratory, he's uh he's done uh he's invented a whole bunch of stuff as well.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: Like he's you know, he's quite spiritual, but he's also invented a bunch of stuff.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, if he was in his lab and he couldn't get a particular thing, you know, formula or whatever, or figure out a particular thing, he'd go to bed and still does and yeah, and dream about it.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, puts it up to the universe to go to sleep.
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: And quite often, more often than not, he gets the answer.
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: So when you talk about just sort of uh allowing it and being, how are you tapping into that?
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: Is that a meditation?
- 28:29SPEAKER_00: Is it like how do you get that?
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: Well, we all have that, we all have that, and I think so many people are just busy or in their personality self or in their thoughts.
- 28:41SPEAKER_01: So um, you know, obviously having some form of meditation practice is not so that you are amazing at meditation, it is so that you're in enables you to be in witnessing consciousness, is what it's often called of like you being able to see your thoughts or hear the thoughts rather than be them.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: And so for a lot of people, that's first step is awareness that you're not your thoughts, awareness that you're not the monkey mind.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: Um, and yeah, and then which you would have experienced in Vipassana, and then you have that for life, then like you can't.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: I know, that doesn't go away.
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: It's awesome, isn't it?
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: Um, so at the same time, the more and more you cultivate space.
- 29:20SPEAKER_01: So I love Dr.
- 29:21SPEAKER_01: Sue Mortar's um work on this, where she speaks about how she speaks about all the different chakras and all the different energy field, we'll say, for us as humans.
- 29:30SPEAKER_01: And especially like the 12th, the 11th, the 10th, the 9th chakras, which are outside of our body, okay, they have intelligence.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: Like, think of it as um, like to make it really simplified, like Wi-Fi.
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: It is connecting with truth, intelligence, ideas, um, resolutions, solutions.
- 29:50SPEAKER_01: But if we are so much in our denseness, in our thoughts, in our to-do list, in our obligations, you're not connecting to your wider, your wider awareness.
- 30:00SPEAKER_01: And so we always have access to our own answers.
- 30:03SPEAKER_01: And this was why, like half the time when you come on a retreat or you do something where you just finally have space in your life, all of a sudden things feel clear.
- 30:11SPEAKER_01: You go into a breath work session and then you get your clarity.
- 30:14SPEAKER_01: Like you go into a meditation, and rather than I'm going in this to figure it out, it lands because you've had a moment where firstly your nervous system is in a more regulated space, but you connect with the intelligence, like you connect as well with your body.
- 30:28SPEAKER_01: So when you can operate from that place for most of your day, you're not going to always be in it, but being able to see, and then the next step is to trust it.
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: You know, a lot of people do get their answers, or they do have their clarity.
- 30:40SPEAKER_01: I have so many people come to me and they they say, I need more clarity, I need more clarity.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: And then I ask them a few questions and they seem very clear.
- 30:47SPEAKER_01: They know the next thing, but there's just so much uncertainty there and so much unknown.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: So they convince themselves they don't have clarity just because they don't have certainty.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: But certainty from the external space does not exist.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: If you're on your own authentic path, there is going to be so much unknown.
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: There is going to be so many um, you can't pave it out 10 steps ahead as you can your conditioned path or the path of your parents or the path of your friends and family.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: So there really is this understanding that a lot of people do have this.
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: Well, they do.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: Everyone has access to their own um awareness or their own answers.
- 31:24SPEAKER_01: You know, the um the doctor that you were just experiencing, or the um the teacher that you were just sharing about, you know, this is like a telltale thing.
- 31:33SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, we even say it, sleep on it.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, go and sleep on it.
- 31:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:37SPEAKER_01: And he's obviously doing it with intention and then trusting his answer first thing in the morning.
- 31:42SPEAKER_01: And like, that's such a beautiful way.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: I love to do that of like literally, I'll go ask a question to divine or to myself at the end of the day and then wake up with the answer.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: And the key is that you trust the answer because what happens is that doubt can come in two seconds later, the mind can come in.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: And what I've learned with my work is that you're going to have an intuitive feeling or clarity or knowing or awareness, but it can be quite quiet.
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: It doesn't spend its time manipulating or convincing you.
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: And what happens is that the voice of doubt comes in and uh, you know, says, like, we haven't received anything around this.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: Like, think about in your subconscious, you just have this constantly filing cabinets of the same thought, the same belief, same not enoughness a lot of the time for most people.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: Then if you have this awareness of like it could be a different way, or um, there's the possibility here, or there's an idea here, when when your subconscious goes to file it, it doesn't know where to file it.
- 32:37SPEAKER_01: So it's like, we've never received anything like this before, sends sub doubt to you and says, like, what do we do with this?
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: And it's really acknowledging like, yes, this is new, this is somewhere that I've unshed territory, but we can trust this, and you're creating safety with your nervous system around this.
- 32:53SPEAKER_01: So the answers are always there.
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: People are just not creating space for it, and then not secondfold, not trusting it.
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: Um, so leading by the mind rather than by the intuition and what rather than by like the awareness, the knowing.
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 33:06SPEAKER_00: So that um, you know how um it's my understanding that um we're all just vibrations, and because uh our human bodies are just stronger vibrations and we're we're able to be human bodies, and so I guess that tapping into that higher self, exactly it's it's part of the it's like the all-knowing, part of you.
- 33:30SPEAKER_00: It's like yeah, it's part of you.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: So that's why tapping into it, like with what I said with Gray Kerswell and the work that you do, you're just tapping into the it's like tapping into the source, essentially.
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, your source is you, yeah, which is quite and I know like I'm so fascinated with kundalini as well.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: And that's my sort of thing as well, isn't it?
- 33:49SPEAKER_01: Well, it's just moving life force, yeah.
- 33:51SPEAKER_01: So what can happen is that we can have a distorted energy within us, um, which then creates a distorted field within the external, just because there isn't, as you said, like how you were able to connect with that in Vipassana of feeling like your your um central channel being able to connect, and like even just that of just you know, shifting the energy within your body then shifts the energy externally from you.
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: It's it's you know, there's really fascinating work, and this has been um studied with scientists about how your external reality quite literally mirrors or reflects your internal consciousness.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: And what happens is that if you have some form of like distortion or not allowing or frustration or disbelief and all the things, it then creates that field externally.
- 34:36SPEAKER_01: So then you keep creating evidence of like, yes, see, life is hard.
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: Yes, see, um, people don't support me, yes, see, like um things never go my way, and it just becomes this like self-fulfilling prophecy because your energy is creating that external field, and then you're continuing to get evidence to support it.
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, it's it's all of us, but it's really understanding how how powerful just coming from a place of love.
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: You know, you asked about that energy in which you can see in me, which means you can see in you.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: It really just comes down to like love and the energy of coming from love, coming from um compassion, it then creates the vibration of that around you.
- 35:19SPEAKER_01: Uh so yeah, that's always my remembrance of like, okay, one I internally at all times.
- 35:27SPEAKER_01: So when I'm moving through life, and you know, it's it takes a moment to pause and remember this, but it's like, how is my energy in response, or how am I creating my energy as I move through the world?
- 35:40SPEAKER_00: Because that then is what is reflected back at you.
- 35:44SPEAKER_00: And so that's so cool because I'm always like, you know, glass half full, positive, see the good stuff.
- 35:51SPEAKER_00: But I don't I don't think I really understood the scientifically that actually worked.
- 35:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, no, scientifically.
- 35:58SPEAKER_01: So 20 as I I I love to quote this study, um, Dr.
- 36:03SPEAKER_01: David Hawkins, he did a 29-year study around measuring the frequencies in the internal state and how it creates a different reality externally.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: And love, peace, enlightenment, and joy came at the higher end of the scale of creating like a higher reality, basically.
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: And he said that 70% of the population were operating in apathy, in fear, in shame and in guilt.
- 36:27SPEAKER_01: And that creates a lower reality.
- 36:29SPEAKER_01: We could say low, it's not like it's a hierarchy, but you just experience a lot more um yeah, yeah, darkness and frustration, it's frustrated reality.
- 36:39SPEAKER_01: And you know, it's not about being toxic uh positivity.
- 36:43SPEAKER_01: What I have found personally for myself was that where you shift from, we can say those lower states is from a place of acceptance.
- 36:50SPEAKER_01: So for me, like it's like, okay, I feel sad right now, I feel angry right now, like acceptance of that.
- 36:56SPEAKER_01: Or okay, how can I fully feel into that?
- 36:58SPEAKER_01: That's where I bring into somatics of like actually transmute this energy rather than just sitting in a low level level of frustration for days.
- 37:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay, how can I like put some music on, do a bit of breath, and like let it move through my body?
- 37:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it's so funny we resist these things that are so powerful for you.
- 37:16SPEAKER_01: It's you know, I just had one of a woman inside my spaces being like, I keep resisting meditation.
- 37:22SPEAKER_01: I'm like, Yeah, well, welcome.
- 37:23SPEAKER_01: Like we all resist it.
- 37:24SPEAKER_01: We resist the things that are so powerful for us, but it's the things that like quite literally helps to overflow your energy from you in a positive way, that the energy that you want to create from.
- 37:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, interesting.
- 37:40SPEAKER_00: So, Hillary, I work with some amazing women that give everything.
- 37:45SPEAKER_00: They give and give and give.
- 37:47SPEAKER_00: Uh, some of the people I work with haven't had holidays literally for 20 plus years.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: Um, the our the industry we work in in finance, that there's just such an obligation with deadlines and things like that.
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: And um, what I've noticed happen is that, you know, when they grow their businesses and they slowly get busier and busier and busier.
- 38:07SPEAKER_00: And um, because they're such nice people, uh, nice women, they uh rarely say no.
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: Um they'll just keep taking on the work and sort of the work then bleeds into the evenings and it bleeds into the weekends, and then it completely just bleeds into their whole life, or it sometimes takes over relationships and hobbies and and the fun part in them.
- 38:29SPEAKER_00: Like they're just like literally just working, working, working all the time.
- 38:33SPEAKER_00: And the ways that are to get out of that is, you know, to to to step back and look at the business and see if they can, you know, um systemize their business and start hiring and delegating some of that work so they can step back and take the breaks and not work nights and things like that.
- 38:49SPEAKER_00: But there's a big, big resistance around that because I think a lot of the times their identity is caught up in being the person to go to and and obviously financially too, that you know, they're supporting the family as well.
- 39:02SPEAKER_00: So it kind of all mushes into one.
- 39:05SPEAKER_00: How can we learn how to the a big thing is procrastination around the things that we know we should be doing, like systemizing our businesses?
- 39:15SPEAKER_00: Like I know this is a very practical question for you, Hillary, but how can we look at the practical problem of procrastination around the things that we know we should be doing, like systemizing and hiring and delegating so we can step back and do that, perhaps higher-end work with our clients, like advisory sort of work and things like that.
- 39:32SPEAKER_00: How can we uh help our audience sort of see the procrastination for what it is?
- 39:37SPEAKER_00: And what's what's really going on there, maybe energetically, that might help?
- 39:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:43SPEAKER_01: So procrastination is never like a time management thing or a uh avoidance.
- 39:49SPEAKER_01: Avoidance thing.
- 39:50SPEAKER_01: Well, it it you do uh you are avoiding, but the reason why is that there's a fear underneath it.
- 39:55SPEAKER_01: There's some form of resistance.
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: It's like, you know, we do everything else to stay busy just to avoid the one thing we know we need to do.
- 40:01SPEAKER_01: So whenever I see with procrastination, I think it's really important to get really clear on the thing that you're fearing underneath it of like, why do you fear systemizing?
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: Or like, why do you fear hiring?
- 40:12SPEAKER_01: And it's always going to be super um practical unique or it's gonna be it's gotta be from them.
- 40:19SPEAKER_01: And that's the first question I ask, and it's what your subconscious will answer and will say, Well, I'm afraid of letting go.
- 40:24SPEAKER_01: And I'll ask again, okay, well, why are you afraid of letting go?
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: Well, if I let go, everything will fall apart.
- 40:28SPEAKER_01: Okay, well, what will happen if you fall apart?
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: Then I'll be a failure.
- 40:32SPEAKER_01: Okay, what would it mean if you be a failure?
- 40:34SPEAKER_01: Well, then I'll be unlovable.
- 40:35SPEAKER_01: Okay, what would it mean if you're being unlovable?
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: Then I'll have no, you know, like it's so much deeper.
- 40:40SPEAKER_01: I always just come ask, I was like, Well, what would that mean about you?
- 40:42SPEAKER_01: What would that mean about you?
- 40:44SPEAKER_01: Because what we're doing, you you you touched on this about we're so identified with like, as you said, like the nice person.
- 40:51SPEAKER_01: But then it would, I would ask them, like, who would you be if you weren't nice?
- 40:55SPEAKER_01: Like if you if someone said to you that you're not nice, what would that mean?
- 40:59SPEAKER_01: And we need to get to a place where that does not that does not um I guess shatter us if someone or I even myself am somehow letting someone down.
- 41:13SPEAKER_01: Like, because what happens is is that women, and it just sounds like a lot of your clients, they're in the pursuit of never letting anyone else down, they're letting themselves down.
- 41:24SPEAKER_01: And at the end of the day, it's like we're always just especially with procrastination, we're trying to avoid some form of perceived plain pain.
- 41:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so okay, if I um if I'm avoiding or I'm always being nice, I'm avoiding feeling the perceived pain of letting someone down.
- 41:44SPEAKER_01: And I'd always ask them, like, I don't even ask you, so pretend let's imagine that you're your client.
- 41:48SPEAKER_01: So what are you afraid if you say no?
- 41:52SPEAKER_00: If I said no, that rejection.
- 41:55SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 41:56SPEAKER_01: And what what would you what would it mean if they rejected you or they were disappointed in you?
- 42:01SPEAKER_01: What would that mean about you?
- 42:04SPEAKER_01: That I'm somehow not worthy.
- 42:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 42:08SPEAKER_01: And so what how would you feel if you were not worthy?
- 42:13SPEAKER_01: Um lost.
- 42:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, what's a feeling though?
- 42:16SPEAKER_01: Like a feeling in your body.
- 42:20SPEAKER_00: Um vulnerable.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: Like, is that a feeling?
- 42:23SPEAKER_00: Is that a feeling sad?
- 42:25SPEAKER_00: Or uh just like um, it takes me back.
- 42:31SPEAKER_00: I grew up in a sheep and cattle station in the middle of nowhere.
- 42:34SPEAKER_00: Um, our closest neighbors were like 30 kilometers away, and it was just mom and dad and me.
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: And so you carried a lot.
- 42:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was just no, it was fun.
- 42:42SPEAKER_00: Like I I had a fun upbringing, but I always felt like I've always felt like I don't fit, which is a good thing.
- 42:52SPEAKER_00: I don't think that's a bad thing, but I always kind of questioned whether I was like I I'm not I wasn't like the other kids, I've never been like the other kids.
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: And because I grew up, I didn't go to school to town until I was like five and a half.
- 43:08SPEAKER_00: So I was a little bush kid, 130k out on a big 136,000 acre property in the middle of nowhere with mum and dad.
- 43:16SPEAKER_00: I still remember my first day at school.
- 43:18SPEAKER_00: So when you asked me that question, it's that little girl that that didn't have any like connections and and I had all this fear, heaps of fear.
- 43:33SPEAKER_01: That's exactly it.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: So what people don't realize is that they're operating in their inner child, yeah.
- 43:38SPEAKER_01: So this is where parts work comes in.
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: So you think parts work parts work.
- 43:43SPEAKER_01: So you've just connected with your part, your inner child part, or your fearful part, or your procrastinator part.
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: And what I often do in my work is that I'll speak directly to that because that's the thing.
- 43:52SPEAKER_01: It's like, oh, well, I'm a you know, 34 year old woman running this business.
- 43:57SPEAKER_01: It's like, no, right now you're blended with your five year old.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: Part who feels not enough and feels like she has to, you know, do more to make her parents feel feel that they're okay.
- 44:08SPEAKER_01: Um, and so you're still operating like that 50 years later.
- 44:11SPEAKER_01: And so what it really is, it's not about just like force it, I'll just force myself to um hire or delegate or to stop working nights.
- 44:19SPEAKER_01: You really got to ask yourself of what part of me feels unsafe in me letting go a little bit or me trusting, trusting life.
- 44:27SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, for the person that is um, I will say a workaholic or hasn't done had a holiday in 20 years, it really is the allowance or asking or creating um a sense of, yeah, lack of a better way of saying it, like safety of like, oh, I get to like, even if I let go, nothing is gonna fall apart.
- 44:46SPEAKER_01: But what happens similar to what I was saying before, you keep running from these beliefs and stories and just you don't even realize it, and you keep reconferring it with evidence.
- 44:56SPEAKER_01: So your life keeps showing you, you keep getting emails at 9 p.m.
- 44:59SPEAKER_01: You keep getting more and more people putting stuff on your table just because it is confirming the story within you.
- 45:05SPEAKER_01: Your your life is a cookie-cutter replica of your internal belief, yeah, energy consciousness.
- 45:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:13SPEAKER_01: So, you know, and I went through this exact same thing of like, you know, feeling like I didn't have, you know, like didn't have any boundaries, I was always available.
- 45:21SPEAKER_01: And I could see where, you know, clients were like like there was an opening for them.
- 45:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:28SPEAKER_01: You know, and until I shifted internally, then I didn't get those types of um expectations anymore because I was really clear on what I was gonna hold and what I would receive.
- 45:38SPEAKER_01: I was really clear that okay, an email doesn't get answered at night time or at whatever time.
- 45:45SPEAKER_01: And when that was like an internal experience, then externally it didn't get tested anymore.
- 45:50SPEAKER_01: But there will be a period when people are shifting that it will start getting like tested, and you got to hold hold yourself in that.
- 45:57SPEAKER_01: So like if you haven't had a holiday in 20 years, like what are you doing?
- 46:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 46:03SPEAKER_00: And and I think uh can I just touch on what you were saying before?
- 46:06SPEAKER_00: Like that is that like a is that like a like it sounds like when you were talking about it, it's like where you just raise your vibration.
- 46:14SPEAKER_00: So right, is it that kind of thing where you raise your life?
- 46:17SPEAKER_01: Well, no, so I don't really like the like raise your vibration thing because I feel like it's a bit like it doesn't really make sense to me.
- 46:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:23SPEAKER_01: Um, in the sense of I see it of like, okay, how is life initiating me right now?
- 46:29SPEAKER_01: I've got a challenge, I have a fear.
- 46:32SPEAKER_01: So I've always made my goal, not I'm gonna have the most successful business.
- 46:37SPEAKER_01: My goal has always been, okay, a fear has shown up for me, a challenge has shown up for me.
- 46:41SPEAKER_01: Who do I get to become in this?
- 46:43SPEAKER_01: So, for example, the person who um is workaholic, feels all this pressure, is burning themselves out.
- 46:51SPEAKER_01: This is an opportunity for you to shift this and to totally, I use something called my power practice of pause.
- 46:58SPEAKER_01: I have an opportunity here to shift something internally for me.
- 47:02SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna welcome discomfort.
- 47:04SPEAKER_01: This is gonna bring up so much discomfort for me to shut my laptop at 6 p.m.
- 47:08SPEAKER_01: and not answer anything and literally just say, like, no, I'm not available for this anymore.
- 47:14SPEAKER_01: Embody your higher self as E.
- 47:16SPEAKER_01: What would my higher self do?
- 47:18SPEAKER_01: What would um what is being invited from me from a soul context?
- 47:23SPEAKER_01: Like instead of again, like people get so limited in their view, they think that the whole point of them being here is to like, yeah, be the nice person and burn themselves to the ground and create whatever business.
- 47:36SPEAKER_01: And that's not the point.
- 47:37SPEAKER_01: It's like you're missing the point.
- 47:39SPEAKER_01: So when I started to see like who am I being invited to become, this freedom, this um expression, this life force, this love, that means that anything is of that's out of alignment with that, I'm being asked to either shed or shift.
- 47:53SPEAKER_01: So then it gets to R of the power practice of respond, respond as your higher self.
- 47:58SPEAKER_01: And that might be sit and do nothing.
- 48:01SPEAKER_01: So I would say to the person who is really resisting hiring or systemizing, and like the thing is, it's like this is again like people jump to like the tool, and it's like we have to do the inner work first in order for that to happen.
- 48:15SPEAKER_01: Because you can be like, okay, well, I'm gonna hire and then you can't find anyone, or okay, I'm gonna use systems, and then you're still working 20 hours a day or 12 hours a day with the system, like it's a consciousness underneath it.
- 48:28SPEAKER_01: So um, you know, I went through this with hiring.
- 48:31SPEAKER_01: It's like I didn't want to let go of control, and so I had to like move through a whole process around that of like, okay, how can I let go?
- 48:39SPEAKER_01: How can I trust?
- 48:39SPEAKER_01: How can I surrender?
- 48:41SPEAKER_01: And then the most, you know, amazing people came into my space.
- 48:43SPEAKER_01: Now I like people are constantly, you know, I get messages at least once a week of people being like, Can I come support you?
- 48:49SPEAKER_01: Like, how is ways in which I can um help you in your business?
- 48:54SPEAKER_01: And that didn't used to happen.
- 48:56SPEAKER_01: So, yes, inherently you yeah, your vibration changes, but I see it, it's something that you see that life is going to be initiating this in you through a challenge a lot of the time.
- 49:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 49:06SPEAKER_00: So the challenge that's why we need to embrace the challenges because teach us something that's keeping us stuck.
- 49:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and the challenge can just be you feel exhausted or you feel uninspired, or um, you know, I think if people have been working so hard and burnt out and don't know any other way, it's so uncomfortable to get still.
- 49:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's so uncomfortable to create space in your day, it's so uncomfortable to say no, and it's the most important thing you need to do for your soul.
- 49:35SPEAKER_01: I, when I was moving through all of this, I started to realize how manipulative it was for me to always be saying yes and to like basically I'm manipulating them to like get a certain picture of me and being like, Oh, you know, I need you to see me as always available, always great, always helpful, your savior, your thing.
- 49:54SPEAKER_01: And it's really it's literally manipulation.
- 49:57SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, another way that helped me shift this was when I would receive an email from someone late at night, or I felt like someone was always available, like it was less magnetic to me.
- 50:12SPEAKER_01: You know, when someone took a couple of days to reply to an email, or um, you know, was really clear of like, look, I don't have the space or time, like I respected them more.
- 50:21SPEAKER_01: I was like, Yeah, kudos to you.
- 50:23SPEAKER_01: Like, and no one is judging you for that.
- 50:26SPEAKER_01: If anything, they're respecting you for it.
- 50:29SPEAKER_01: And so, yeah, I remember even just recently I was doing um uh invites, like a stationary company, and she was like replying to me at like 9 p.m.
- 50:39SPEAKER_01: on a Saturday night.
- 50:39SPEAKER_01: It was like personal for me.
- 50:40SPEAKER_01: I was just like trying to organize this event, and um, I was like, why is she replying to me at 9 p.m.
- 50:46SPEAKER_01: on a Saturday night?
- 50:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and you know, no one's thinking like, oh, good for her, she's doing that 9 p.m.
- 50:51SPEAKER_01: on a Saturday night.
- 50:52SPEAKER_01: I'm thinking the opposite.
- 50:53SPEAKER_01: I'm like, honey, why are you replying to my email?
- 50:55SPEAKER_01: You can reply on Monday, it's okay.
- 50:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 50:58SPEAKER_00: And so um I know my clients are thinking, like, I know it's like a practical thing.
- 51:06SPEAKER_00: I want better quality clients, I want to be able to increase my prices regularly.
- 51:10SPEAKER_00: And there's what you're saying is that we' energetically we've got to be open to receiving better clients to be able to have be paid what we deserve.
- 51:21SPEAKER_00: And we create that, it's our inner thoughts that are creating that, that's allowing it or not to happen for us.
- 51:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, everything starts internally, everything's just a ref like it's just a mirror.
- 51:34SPEAKER_01: So the first thing that was coming to my mind when you asked that, like when it comes to pricing and clients and all the things, like number one priority is connect to light, connect to your higher awareness.
- 51:46SPEAKER_01: So, you know, if you're wanting to increase your prices, like connect to divine, connect to light, go for a walk in the morning, go have a meditation and be like, what is the like the price which feels I guess what is if I'm wanting to increase my prices, then why are we um discounting that?
- 52:06SPEAKER_01: Like if it means that you can be more supported in your work, like it's got nothing to do with worth, it's got nothing to do with anything but the prices being asked to increase.
- 52:17SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, I feel like the less that you make a story around it, I always find when you have like an insecurity around it, or if you're you're not grounded in it, then it gets challenged again.
- 52:29SPEAKER_01: Like people are just reflecting your energy.
- 52:31SPEAKER_01: If every time that I've either shifted up my pricing or it became a greater investment or less of an investment, sometimes I'm like, I actually want this to be way more accessible.
- 52:40SPEAKER_01: I did that with a tour that I went on.
- 52:42SPEAKER_01: Everyone was saying, like, it should be like you're giving way too much value.
- 52:45SPEAKER_01: It's too cheap, the tickets.
- 52:46SPEAKER_01: And I was like, no, this is what I want, like this is feels good for me.
- 52:50SPEAKER_01: Um and so yeah, I just noticed within myself, I remember at the start of the business when I was, oh, like I don't know, I don't feel uh then that was reflected when I was like, This is my price, that's it.
- 53:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and that was it.
- 53:04SPEAKER_00: It's so true, isn't it?
- 53:06SPEAKER_00: And the the more comfortable, the more, and I guess that's where what you're saying, it's when the internal and the external are aligning, and that's when people feel that that that is like I was talking about this with my clients yesterday, you know.
- 53:17SPEAKER_00: That have you seen that picture about the energy that's outside of ourselves, yeah, the toric field, yeah, two meters, and then yeah, it's it's like that's the outside of the inside connecting so what they see of you.
- 53:29SPEAKER_00: So that's why when you say, Hey, this is how much I am, or this is what I want, that's alignment with inside and outside.
- 53:36SPEAKER_00: So that's why it feels a lot more authentic and real when you're talking to people like that.
- 53:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, and another example of this, it's like I remember when I was still feeling a little bit shadowy about doing human design, spiritual work.
- 53:47SPEAKER_01: I remember lots of people, you know, I'd be out in life and people, lots of people would ask me, What do I do for a living?
- 53:53SPEAKER_01: And I was kind of embarrassed at the time.
- 53:55SPEAKER_01: And I was like, Oh, I do this kind of thing called human design.
- 53:57SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, you don't really know what it is, it's okay.
- 53:59SPEAKER_01: And now I can just say, no one asks, like barely anyone asks me, and even if they do, I probably don't even register, I just say it.
- 54:05SPEAKER_01: Like, I've got nothing to prove.
- 54:07SPEAKER_01: But I just remember how I see it is that life is like, lack of a better way, like being like, Will you claim this?
- 54:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, will you claim your price?
- 54:15SPEAKER_01: Will you claim that your work?
- 54:16SPEAKER_01: Will you claim your you know?
- 54:18SPEAKER_01: So it's like I just see that it's all divinely orchestrated.
- 54:21SPEAKER_01: It's like the divine tells that person to challenge your prices, or tells a divine to send these more challenging clients because you need a lesson on boundaries, or you need a lesson on stop trying to prove yourself, stop overgiving.
- 54:35SPEAKER_01: Okay, I'll keep sending you bad quote unquote bad clients.
- 54:38SPEAKER_01: I'll keep sending you them because you need to learn boundaries.
- 54:40SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay, I'll keep sending people that are in lack because you need to get more firm in your pricing.
- 54:46unknown: Yeah.
- 54:47SPEAKER_01: Because you don't get, you don't, you don't learn anything if there's no form of like friction that happens.
- 54:51SPEAKER_01: Friction.
- 54:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the yin and the yang, right?
- 54:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 54:55SPEAKER_00: So um, I know we have to wrap it up, but I don't want to, Hillary.
- 54:59SPEAKER_00: So can I ask, um, what are your thoughts for us rookies with this?
- 55:04SPEAKER_00: What are your thoughts on like pendulums, tarot?
- 55:08SPEAKER_00: Like, is there ways that we can sort of help us with the intuition and understanding?
- 55:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, look, I love I love all that.
- 55:15SPEAKER_01: I love everything.
- 55:16SPEAKER_01: I love I love cards.
- 55:18SPEAKER_01: I had a morning at the beach this morning with like I did a little tea ceremony, meditation, cards, all the things.
- 55:24SPEAKER_01: Like, I just think any way in which you feel more connected, any way in which you can feel a sense of support, beautiful.
- 55:31SPEAKER_01: Like, even like uh what is it?
- 55:34SPEAKER_01: Um your numbers, like you see signs and things like that.
- 55:38SPEAKER_01: But I think at the end of the, I think at the end of the day, oh god.
- 55:41SPEAKER_01: I think at the end of the day, the most important thing is that your sign is your body.
- 55:45SPEAKER_01: So how do you respond to that?
- 55:46SPEAKER_01: And I still remember I had a, you know, someone that was a master in tarot.
- 55:52SPEAKER_01: He said to me, it's not actually about reading the tarot and the tarot being your answer, it's your response from your body to the tarot.
- 56:00SPEAKER_01: And I still remember when he said it because I was weighing up whether I was gonna do this, um, like this trip, this ceremony.
- 56:06SPEAKER_01: And I got the tarot that basically said, no, don't do it.
- 56:09SPEAKER_01: Like it was like it basically said no.
- 56:11SPEAKER_01: And my response was like, no, but I want to do it.
- 56:14SPEAKER_01: I like I got a strong response of like, no, that's not gonna be my answer.
- 56:19SPEAKER_01: And so that was my answer.
- 56:20SPEAKER_01: My answer wasn't the no that the tarot said.
- 56:22SPEAKER_01: My answer was that my answer was so clear of like, no, you're not, I actually want to do it.
- 56:27SPEAKER_01: If I got relief, if I was like, yeah, okay, that feels right, then good.
- 56:31SPEAKER_01: Um, so it's always your body's response.
- 56:34SPEAKER_01: But again, we want to be coming from higher awareness with these with these tools and these things because we um we don't want it to override our system because sometimes we can be like, okay, that that means that I can just sit back and trust, or that can mean that I can just stay in the same place and surrender.
- 56:50SPEAKER_01: No, like our autonomy, our body is the biggest sign.
- 56:54SPEAKER_01: And just notice where you're outsourcing your power on those things because I do notice in some people it's like, oh, I got a dopamine hit that I saw 1111 today, and that means you know, I can just stay what I'm doing.
- 57:07SPEAKER_01: It's like, no, your body, your energy, your um, I always say like your intuition is guiding you, and there's gonna be resistance, there's gonna be mental resistance, especially when you're doing something new and incredible and in unknown territory for you.
- 57:22SPEAKER_01: So, okay, I noticed that I have fear and I and doubt, and you asked this about the confidence piece.
- 57:26SPEAKER_01: I have doubt and fear all the time.
- 57:29SPEAKER_01: It's just that I just don't listen to it.
- 57:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I guess I see it as really important.
- 57:33SPEAKER_01: So, as I said, I just finished up an Australian speaking tour.
- 57:36SPEAKER_01: Um, one of the I had so much doubt and resistance to it, so much um, you know, fear, and it just all of this showed up, and I just know there was no reason to.
- 57:47SPEAKER_01: I run retreats, I do things like that all the time.
- 57:50SPEAKER_01: There was there was no reason why I had resistance to it, but I did, and I just knew then it was like the most important thing I needed to do then, because there was some form of expansion that I needed to go through.
- 58:01SPEAKER_01: And 100% I did.
- 58:02SPEAKER_01: Like I grew so much through it.
- 58:04SPEAKER_01: So um, yeah, resistance is not a bad sign, fear is not a bad sign, doubt is not a bad sign.
- 58:09SPEAKER_01: It's actually a good sign when you have the intuitive calling with it.
- 58:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it means it's your next level.
- 58:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and we just gotta trust it, don't we?
- 58:18SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 58:19SPEAKER_00: We've got to trust it.
- 58:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and just know it.
- 58:22SPEAKER_01: I think it starts with the trusts and then just the knowing, like something that I was reflecting on even just with the end of that tour.
- 58:28SPEAKER_01: It was like I looked back and I was like, I could connect all the dots of like, oh yeah, when I followed and I studied with this person, or I went and I learned this thing, and then when I started doing readings, and then when I moved to this place, and you know, we can connect the dots always backwards.
- 58:41SPEAKER_01: And I really felt that of like, oh, all the things that have gotten me to where I am now.
- 58:45SPEAKER_01: And like, we want to come with that level of like, of course, of course, that led to that.
- 58:50SPEAKER_01: Of course, this was inevitable, of course that was the next step.
- 58:53SPEAKER_01: But we want to bring that into the future of like, yeah, I don't know what the exact steps are, but I come with that same level of certainty and that same level of like anything that shows up in my path is for my highest good, every challenge, every fear, every doubt.
- 59:08SPEAKER_01: And I love the the idea around if you don't know what the the gift or the blessing is from the challenge or from the unknown yet, it's just that the fruit hasn't ripened yet.
- 59:18SPEAKER_01: You know, if you pick a fruit and you have it sour, it's not that it's bad fruit.
- 59:22SPEAKER_01: It's just that the the goodness and the positive outcomes haven't come from it yet.
- 59:26SPEAKER_01: And so if you're in a moment of doubt or unsurety or fear, you're gonna look back on this moment and be so glad you moved through it.
- 59:33SPEAKER_01: It's just that the fruit hasn't ripened yet.
- 59:35SPEAKER_01: And I always remind myself of that.
- 59:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like it's just I I've just picked it too early.
- 59:40SPEAKER_01: If I try and find the lesson or the understanding in it now, it's just too early.
- 59:43SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna know, but I just keep moving forward with a knowing.
- 59:46SPEAKER_01: Yes, it's a trust, but even beyond that, it's just a knowing that all is working out somehow in your highest favor, even if it doesn't feel good.
- 59:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 59:55SPEAKER_01: Because yeah, that's that's that's all there is.
- 59:58SPEAKER_01: Everything is coming from divine universal energy.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_00: Gosh, I can think of so many things that when they were really hard and knowing now, it's like, oh, it was exactly if I didn't do that or go through that, I wouldn't have exactly all of the things like you think about all the things that you've gone through.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_00: So for future things that come up, we've gotta we've gotta remember that they're all yeah, like future hindsight, yeah, for good reasons.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_00: Hillary, um, what an amazing conversation.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_00: Can I just ask you a couple more questions?
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, books, where can we find out more books, podcasts, things like that?
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_00: Where can we find out more about this amazing information?
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I well, I have a podcast called Design to Zoo Podcast, so definitely check that out.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_01: Um, look, I don't have like I have books that I've loved.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_01: So I love the surrender experiment by Michael Singer.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_01: There's not a human design book that I would 100% say.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_01: There's obviously the one that Ra Uruhu, who was a creator of human design, wrote.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_01: Um, I think there's great apps.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_01: There's a human design app.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_01: What other things do I love?
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_01: I'm right now reading Mary Magdalene Revealed, which I'm enjoying.

- 1:02:05SPEAKER_01: People I even find like just like searching on YouTube certain things, like remember, spirit works through technology.
