- 1:09Speaker 4: some of my favorite money wins. Beck will be sharing
- 1:12Speaker 4: some of her best broke tips, and then we're going
- 1:14Speaker 4: to switch up the format a little bit and get
- 1:16Speaker 4: into some really fun Q and as after the break.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Now you might be listening to the voice and going
- 1:21Speaker 4: that's not Victoria to Victoria. Your voice sounds so different,
- 1:25Speaker 4: and in fact, right now, it does. She sounds like
- 1:27Speaker 4: she's crawled from the depths of the center of the earth.
- 1:30Speaker 2: She sounds like this.
- 1:34Speaker 4: But I'm just Ricky and I'm here with beckside. Hi,
- 1:37Speaker 4: just go any case you can't tell today is going
- 1:40Speaker 4: to be loose.
- 1:41Speaker 5: Can I can see her thing real silly today? I
- 1:44Speaker 5: feel a bit silly. Do you feel a bit silly?
- 1:46Speaker 4: I do you feel a bit silly if you came
- 1:47Speaker 4: to financial advice? This episode not the one we're going
- 1:52Speaker 4: to be in JQ and A on the back half.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Of this.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Loves I'm happy with when Georgia was here with the
- 2:01Speaker 4: G and j Q and A.
- 2:02Speaker 5: That's cute, missy George. I'm trying to just roll it over,
- 2:06Speaker 5: but perhaps you're trying to like skip over that really quickly,
- 2:09Speaker 5: so no, won't make any connection that.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what it is. It is what it is.
- 2:13Speaker 4: It is what it is, Take it or leave it. Okay,
- 2:16Speaker 4: we're just here. We're doing our best. We're doing our best.
- 2:18Speaker 5: I might not be able to answer any those questions
- 2:20Speaker 5: because I'm gay women, but.
- 2:24Speaker 4: No, I'm just kidding. We're gonna go, We're gonna get.
- 2:26Speaker 5: Away from that it's Beck and Jess quick Q and
- 2:28Speaker 5: A which I'm very excited for stunning.
- 2:30Speaker 4: I think it's going to be really good, but we
- 2:31Speaker 4: are we're going to keep things a little sense of normality,
- 2:34Speaker 4: if you will. So we're going to run through huge
- 2:37Speaker 4: Would you like to hear some of my favorite money wins?
- 2:39Speaker 4: I would die for that, But should ask you what
- 2:42Speaker 4: your how your week was? First? And getting ahead of myself.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Very average, to be honest, nothing exciting, nothing sad, nothing sad, no, no,
- 2:51Speaker 4: just plodding along. I feel a bit of the same,
- 2:54Speaker 4: same same for me. How about for you?
- 2:56Speaker 5: Well, same same, same for me. I was visited by
- 3:00Speaker 5: Current Affair this week.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Oh tell us more about that? There's a little bit
- 3:04Speaker 4: of the same same same.
- 3:06Speaker 5: No, well it's something that old old chat about more
- 3:08Speaker 5: in Victoria is here. But basically there's been like a
- 3:10Speaker 5: big rental increase at my house and it's just the
- 3:13Speaker 5: same old story for like everyone around us. I see,
- 3:16Speaker 5: and one of my friends who worked is like a
- 3:18Speaker 5: lawyer in the tenants union.
- 3:20Speaker 4: I think, sorry if I've got that wrong.
- 3:21Speaker 5: If she's listening, and basically she wanted to, you know,
- 3:25Speaker 5: see if there's anyone out there want to tell that
- 3:27Speaker 5: story for the for like a little piece about you know,
- 3:29Speaker 5: rental increase, so that and I did.
- 3:35Speaker 4: We will get into it more in Victoria is bad, Yeah,
- 3:37Speaker 4: not sick. But how much do they increase your in buy?
- 3:39Speaker 5: You know, we we did go back to them, but
- 3:40Speaker 5: basically they proposed eight hundred and twenty three dollars, which
- 3:44Speaker 5: is like a seventeen percent increase per month.
- 3:46Speaker 4: But we went.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Back and kind of like proposed something else. But we
- 3:51Speaker 5: haven't heard back yet, so they could. I don't want
- 3:53Speaker 5: to like confirm that that's the increase and like be
- 3:56Speaker 5: like outraged by it because it could maybe not be eventually,
- 3:59Speaker 5: you know what I mean.
- 4:00Speaker 4: But they can catch you being outraged on a current
- 4:02Speaker 4: fan next week.
- 4:03Speaker 5: They might they might just catch that, and I'm terrified.
- 4:08Speaker 5: But also, you know, it's for a good cause. It's
- 4:10Speaker 5: feeling greater good.
- 4:11Speaker 4: You're not the only one experiencing that either that. I've
- 4:13Speaker 4: seen a lot of people who are saying that, you know,
- 4:17Speaker 4: increases are crazy. And I know that there are people
- 4:18Speaker 4: within our community who are landlords. And we're definitely not
- 4:21Speaker 4: saying the lord's bad, landlords evil, but we are saying
- 4:25Speaker 4: that it's unfair sometimes to spring such exorbitant changes, particularly
- 4:29Speaker 4: when just like in the sher market, there are ebbs
- 4:32Speaker 4: and flows. So is the same with you know, the
- 4:34Speaker 4: investment that is investment property, and it's not always fair
- 4:38Speaker 4: to pass one hundred percent of the increase that you
- 4:40Speaker 4: experience onto the people who are living there. That's exactly right.
- 4:43Speaker 5: But you know, as I always say, we do have
- 4:45Speaker 5: empathy for everyone involved. Everyone's experiencing it, so there's no
- 4:49Speaker 5: it sucks for everyone.
- 4:50Speaker 4: That's basically it's all very doom and gloom. Today. Let
- 4:56Speaker 4: me light the mood a little bit and tell you
- 4:58Speaker 4: some some fun positive win Yes, my first one this
- 5:01Speaker 4: week comes from Meghan, who said, I found out that
- 5:03Speaker 4: I can get two months of Binge for free through
- 5:06Speaker 4: my Optice account.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Wow.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Psa, they are also offering three months of Netflix at
- 5:11Speaker 4: fifty percent off. But I use my survey money to
- 5:13Speaker 4: buy Amazon gift cards for my subscription. Oh say, there
- 5:16Speaker 4: you go. TV subscriptions are expensive. We freeload them all
- 5:21Speaker 4: from various people. I think my partner and I pay
- 5:23Speaker 4: for a single one. Actually no, maybe we played for Disney.
- 5:26Speaker 4: But have you seen the thing about how Netflix is
- 5:29Speaker 4: up here? Yes? Oh, I didn't see that one.
- 5:31Speaker 5: Sorry I jumped the gun, but I saw that they
- 5:33Speaker 5: were using your home.
- 5:36Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's like it's going to increase the price.
- 5:38Speaker 4: It's there proposing. I don't know if it's officially happening
- 5:42Speaker 4: that they're going to geo locate so that you can
- 5:44Speaker 4: only watch it from Basically, they're making sure that you
- 5:47Speaker 4: can't have five family members, which is what we do
- 5:50Speaker 4: who are always in five different houses and use the
- 5:52Speaker 4: same account. But I feel like that's the worst decision
- 5:55Speaker 4: they could make because everyone's just going to stop using
- 5:56Speaker 4: Netflix because there are now fifteen different platforms exactly.
- 6:00Speaker 5: Plus sometimes I like to go to a little motel
- 6:03Speaker 5: or like a you have Like well, it's very strange
- 6:07Speaker 5: to say out of context, but if i'm you know,
- 6:09Speaker 5: go and visit family and like I'm stopping halfway, I'll
- 6:12Speaker 5: go go holiday. I'll go in a little holiday and
- 6:14Speaker 5: I go to places that have smart TV so I
- 6:16Speaker 5: can lay around and watch Netflix. But you won't be
- 6:18Speaker 5: able to do that because that's not my home.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm pretty sure on my TV, my Amazon Prime
- 6:22Speaker 4: is still logged in at the airbnb that we stayed
- 6:24Speaker 4: up Victory. Since I need to check on someone who's
- 6:27Speaker 4: enjoying this day whatever, I'm already paying for it, but
- 6:31Speaker 4: not under the new US. My next money when this
- 6:34Speaker 4: week comes from Ashley, who said I worked out that
- 6:37Speaker 4: in the last year I have spent thousands of dollars
- 6:39Speaker 4: on coffee. Thus, when I got a little bit more
- 6:42Speaker 4: over time in my pay this week, I went and
- 6:44Speaker 4: bought a coffee machine so I can do it all
- 6:45Speaker 4: at home. Now. The most I can spend in the
- 6:48Speaker 4: next fifty two weeks is three hundred dollars. Small investment,
- 6:50Speaker 4: but it will cut down my weekly spending and help
- 6:52Speaker 4: me safe towards a house. I really liked your use
- 6:54Speaker 4: of the word thus thus I feel like side of
- 6:57Speaker 4: essays nobody uses the word thus, but also that you
- 7:00Speaker 4: the math. Well done, Ashley, Yeah, that's really great. Next,
- 7:02Speaker 4: I have a money in from Kiara, who said I
- 7:04Speaker 4: was working a shitty split shift roster Sunday to Thursday
- 7:08Speaker 4: and it really wasn't working for my lifestyle, while the
- 7:10Speaker 4: work culture also wasn't great. I spoke to the head
- 7:13Speaker 4: of HR and changed departments, which meant I got Monday
- 7:16Speaker 4: to Friday under pay rise as well plus a work vehicle.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Absolutely cheering. That is so good.
- 7:23Speaker 5: I wish it was that easy, like in every job ever.
- 7:25Speaker 5: I didn't like this, then that's it.
- 7:27Speaker 4: They change it for you. If you don't like your rostar,
- 7:29Speaker 4: did you know you can just ask to change it. Honestly,
- 7:32Speaker 4: not something that would occur to me as the first time.
- 7:35Speaker 4: I would never. I would have just hated on everyone
- 7:37Speaker 4: and stay there forever. She's living by the rule though.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Worst they can say is no, that's sure of the question.
- 7:42Speaker 4: I love them, you love to see it. My next
- 7:44Speaker 4: money when is from Imagen, who said, my itty bitty
- 7:46Speaker 4: stock portfolio is finally back in the positive after one
- 7:50Speaker 4: of my holdings lost ninety percent of its value and
- 7:52Speaker 4: went bankrupt. It just goes to show that investing really
- 7:55Speaker 4: is about having diverse portfolios and being in it for
- 7:58Speaker 4: the long term. Oh wow, that's exciting.
- 8:02Speaker 3: You know.
- 8:03Speaker 4: I'm obviously I also have an ebbitty portfolio. I'm not
- 8:06Speaker 4: a big time infest. But seeing that thirty cent dividend
- 8:09Speaker 4: hits like no other. Oh, like, it feels like you're
- 8:11Speaker 4: really doing things. So I'm very excited. I feel your thrill, Imagen. Next,
- 8:16Speaker 4: I have a money win from Nikita, who said money
- 8:19Speaker 4: win my grandmother nit me a cute sweater Verse because
- 8:22Speaker 4: her doctor recommended she take up knitting to keep her
- 8:24Speaker 4: eyesight in check. Oh that's cute.
- 8:27Speaker 5: If I didn't realize they would be so related, so wholesome.
- 8:31Speaker 4: It very She doesn't have to buy a sweatter verse now
- 8:33Speaker 4: because her grandma made it one. I just think very cute.
- 8:35Speaker 4: That is adorable. And lastly, I have a money in
- 8:38Speaker 4: from Stellar. This one's for you back, she said, money win.
- 8:41Speaker 4: My partner and I just bought our first house with
- 8:43Speaker 4: the help of Nikki at Sella Shout Nikki, and when
- 8:45Speaker 4: we moved in on the weekend, we discovered that they
- 8:48Speaker 4: had left behind a cutting of their variegated monster, which
- 8:51Speaker 4: would have cost three hundred plus dollars. It's not the healthiest,
- 8:54Speaker 4: but it has a root. And I say that's for
- 8:55Speaker 4: you because I can no longer say the word variegated
- 8:58Speaker 4: monster without thinking of you. Going a game on Stera.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Congratulations on your very game one, Sterra. I'm so jealous
- 9:07Speaker 4: in your first home. That's the most exciting housewoman gift ever.
- 9:10Speaker 4: God Yea, that's so exciting. That's everything that I've got
- 9:13Speaker 4: this week. But I'm excited to hear from your side
- 9:16Speaker 4: of the community.
- 9:18Speaker 5: All right, he already that you've got so this week,
- 9:20Speaker 5: I also just wanted to say that we obviously had
- 9:23Speaker 5: our theme song sent in last week. That was to
- 9:26Speaker 5: the tune of what was it furglicious or something which
- 9:29Speaker 5: we loved.
- 9:30Speaker 4: We haven't been sent in you one this week so
- 9:32Speaker 4: because it is so hard to top last week. So
- 9:34Speaker 4: it is people are intimidated.
- 9:36Speaker 5: Totally totally. Don't be scared, don't be shy.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Please send in your theme songs.
- 9:40Speaker 5: If you come up with anything, you don't even.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Have to sing it. You could just explain it in.
- 9:45Speaker 5: If you explain it, will sing it, yes, yes, yes,
- 9:48Speaker 5: exactly explain it and me and Jessica Richie will see no,
- 9:51Speaker 5: that's not I can quote you a batim back. Okay,
- 10:02Speaker 5: So this week's broke Tips, as usual, I'll give you
- 10:05Speaker 5: two from our listeners and one from myself done. So
- 10:10Speaker 5: the first broken tip I'm going to tell you about
- 10:12Speaker 5: it's from Katrina, who has basically just sent through something
- 10:16Speaker 5: that I love and I do all the time. Her
- 10:17Speaker 5: tip is my seven eleven Rewards app is honestly the
- 10:21Speaker 5: best thing you could ever download on your phone ever.
- 10:24Speaker 5: So if you go to a seven eleven and you
- 10:27Speaker 5: see that their prices are I don't know, one ninety
- 10:30Speaker 5: nine per liter or whatever. If you just open up
- 10:33Speaker 5: your seven eleven app and find cheaper fuel around you,
- 10:37Speaker 5: you lock it in. You're paying that price. You're not
- 10:41Speaker 5: saying what you're where you are currently.
- 10:43Speaker 4: Does that make sense? Yeah, super smart, so that if
- 10:45Speaker 4: you can find somebody that has it cheaper, you can
- 10:47Speaker 4: take advantage without having to drive twenty minutes too. Exactly right,
- 10:51Speaker 4: exactly right.
- 10:52Speaker 5: So I really encourage everyone to jump on because that's
- 10:55Speaker 5: not the only thing you get with the seven eleven app.
- 10:57Speaker 4: It does sound like and stuff we would love to hear.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Free food. It wasn't one.
- 11:02Speaker 5: Yeah, and like my morning coffee soy milk coffee. By
- 11:07Speaker 5: the way, they do have soy machines.
- 11:09Speaker 4: A dollar fifty. You would you can't find it that cheap.
- 11:12Speaker 5: You can't find that anywhere else.
- 11:14Speaker 4: It's amazing. It plugs into If you're points lover like me,
- 11:18Speaker 4: you can connect your velocity to your seven eleven, so
- 11:21Speaker 4: your petrol and any purchase you make in store. You
- 11:23Speaker 4: also can get airline points for which you can put
- 11:26Speaker 4: to on a trip.
- 11:27Speaker 5: That's true, you can whatever you need actually will fulfill
- 11:31Speaker 5: all your hopes and dreams. I would say, I mean
- 11:34Speaker 5: say it, but I think it's going to fulfill all
- 11:37Speaker 5: your hopes and dreams. So my second broke tip for
- 11:39Speaker 5: this week is from Jessica, who said it's a great name,
- 11:44Speaker 5: it's perfect. So Jessica says, order the Kids Menu everywhere
- 11:48Speaker 5: you go, which I actually can agree with. Like I
- 11:51Speaker 5: do like a big portion, but I feel like they're
- 11:53Speaker 5: pretty decent sized. Did they let you I Sometimes I
- 11:57Speaker 5: feel like it depends where you go. Yeah, but if
- 11:59Speaker 5: you can, if you're allowed to, or if you can
- 12:03Speaker 5: hide yourself away commar.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Something small, you can make yourself exactly. So I would
- 12:12Speaker 4: recommend order the Kids Menu.
- 12:13Speaker 5: They're usually like half price, the portion sizes are reasonable
- 12:19Speaker 5: and yeah, there you.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Go, grapes, picky eaters, because there's always like a nugget
- 12:22Speaker 4: and chips or a part of something real simple.
- 12:25Speaker 5: I love the kids Menu, It's always better than the
- 12:27Speaker 5: adult menu. And my broke tip for the week, I
- 12:29Speaker 5: guess it really only applies if you live in Melbourne,
- 12:32Speaker 5: but there's an Instagram page called tight Asses of Melbourne.
- 12:36Speaker 5: I recommend following this page because whoever this person is
- 12:39Speaker 5: behind this account basically just like finds the deals of
- 12:43Speaker 5: the week, or you know, even if it's like an
- 12:45Speaker 5: ongoing deal. Say yes, so there's places in Abbotsford, Runswick, Brunswick, East, Carlton,
- 12:51Speaker 5: Carlton North, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. They'll go
- 12:54Speaker 5: around and they'll find like what pubs have specials on
- 12:56Speaker 5: what days?
- 12:57Speaker 2: What days?
- 12:57Speaker 5: Maybe are even free trivia so you can it's not
- 13:00Speaker 5: only about food, but it's also yeah, just like something
- 13:02Speaker 5: fun to do that and you don't have to spend
- 13:04Speaker 5: too much money for it, So so cool following that
- 13:07Speaker 5: page and you might find yourself a cheap eat and
- 13:11Speaker 5: maybe even a little bit of entertainment.
- 13:13Speaker 4: You go, and if you know, if you're from another
- 13:15Speaker 4: state and you know that there's like a similar page,
- 13:17Speaker 4: let us know. Me we can put a thread in
- 13:19Speaker 4: the Facebook group or something where people can share similar
- 13:22Speaker 4: pages that have stuff like that, because that's really cool, es.
- 13:24Speaker 5: Fat, Yes, I love that, so yeah, definitely follow and
- 13:27Speaker 5: then let us know if there's anything equivalent, any hot deals,
- 13:30Speaker 5: any hot deals amazing?
- 13:31Speaker 4: Alrighty, well, why don't we head to a really quick
- 13:33Speaker 4: break and when we come back, we're going to mix
- 13:35Speaker 4: things up a little bit with a Q and A segment.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Don't go anywhere already, Jess.
- 13:43Speaker 5: We are back and we're going to do a quick
- 13:45Speaker 5: Q and A.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Are you excited? I am excited. It's kind of fun
- 13:50Speaker 4: to do something different. I love our format. I love
- 13:52Speaker 4: when we get into a little spicy, hot debate. But
- 13:55Speaker 4: it's also kind of nice because we did take over
- 13:57Speaker 4: the Instagram. We put up a little story that said,
- 13:59Speaker 4: Jessin Beck may On may not be on the Wheel today,
- 14:02Speaker 4: what would you ask us? And so many people sending
- 14:04Speaker 4: questions and it's kind of just nice that people want
- 14:06Speaker 4: to talk to us too. Yeah, we're not just supporting characters.
- 14:10Speaker 4: We get to have a main character moment. We get
- 14:12Speaker 4: to have a main character moment. Incredible. Shall I kick
- 14:15Speaker 4: us off? Yeah? Sure, let's start off with an easy one.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Shall we back? What are your financial goals?
- 14:22Speaker 2: Oh?
- 14:23Speaker 4: Great question?
- 14:24Speaker 5: So I would say right now, and I know it's
- 14:28Speaker 5: like really silly because I'm here and I'm on this podcast,
- 14:31Speaker 5: but I don't have any major financial goals.
- 14:35Speaker 4: I think that my main goal is to just be like.
- 14:38Speaker 5: Comfortable, and if anything like touch would ever happen that
- 14:42Speaker 5: I wasn't expecting I would be able to pay for that,
- 14:47Speaker 5: like say, you know, God forbid a car accident or
- 14:50Speaker 5: something like that. You know what I mean, something that
- 14:52Speaker 5: can be I think I wanted an emergency fund, basically,
- 14:56Speaker 5: is what I'm trying to say. That's really it. I'm
- 14:58Speaker 5: pretty stoked living life.
- 15:01Speaker 4: What about you?
- 15:02Speaker 2: The house?
- 15:03Speaker 4: I'm so boring. People were literally in their questions asking
- 15:06Speaker 4: about the house. I know that that's it. It's coming. Well,
- 15:08Speaker 4: it's not coming yet, but we're working on it. I
- 15:11Speaker 4: can see it in your future, I hope. So where
- 15:13Speaker 4: I'm manifesting it so hard, so unbelievably hard. Maybe in
- 15:17Speaker 4: the new financial year. I think there's a few ducks
- 15:19Speaker 4: in a row that I have to get sorted this
- 15:21Speaker 4: tax return, and I'm hoping that maybe that'll give me
- 15:24Speaker 4: the extra leverage that I need. Fingers crossed. How exciting. Okay,
- 15:30Speaker 4: let's go with another question. Let's say.
- 15:34Speaker 5: I wanted to read this one out, and I know
- 15:36Speaker 5: I don't want to take all the main character moment
- 15:39Speaker 5: from both of us, but this one is how much
- 15:42Speaker 5: cash has Beck saved so far? Which is a great question,
- 15:45Speaker 5: and I wanted to basically answer this one because I'm
- 15:50Speaker 5: not exaggerating when I say I've.
- 15:52Speaker 4: Not saved a single have an honest queen given honest queen.
- 15:56Speaker 5: But but this pay is the first pay in I'm
- 16:02Speaker 5: not exaggerating years where I still have money at the
- 16:05Speaker 5: U and that's never happened before.
- 16:07Speaker 4: What are you gonna do with it?
- 16:09Speaker 5: I probably might spend it until before you answer answer,
- 16:14Speaker 5: I'm gonna know, but realistically, I'm gonna try not to
- 16:16Speaker 5: spend it all. It'll be the first time in so
- 16:19Speaker 5: long that it actually really that's awesome, Thank you so much.
- 16:23Speaker 5: That's never happened before. I don't know, Like I'm like,
- 16:25Speaker 5: have I forgot to pay for something? Because this is not
- 16:28Speaker 5: come from Yeah?
- 16:28Speaker 1: What is this?
- 16:30Speaker 4: Why am I so not stressed out right?
- 16:32Speaker 1: Now?
- 16:32Speaker 4: Can I make a suggestion? Please? Without knowing how much
- 16:34Speaker 4: is there? If you're worried you're going to spend it,
- 16:36Speaker 4: I feel like you do need to do something because
- 16:38Speaker 4: it's the first time you've done and that's really cool. Okay,
- 16:40Speaker 4: why don't you buy one of those money teams you
- 16:42Speaker 4: can't open and take out yes twenty percent or fifty
- 16:45Speaker 4: percent or whatever they're out of there, like withdraw it
- 16:49Speaker 4: in cash and put it in your money tin because
- 16:52Speaker 4: if you have it still in your account, you're STI
- 16:53Speaker 4: gonna be able to see it. But if you put
- 16:55Speaker 4: it in that money team, you can't get to that
- 16:56Speaker 4: it's shut. Yeah, because I feel like the fact that
- 16:59Speaker 4: you've got that money leftover, like that's so exciting, Like
- 17:01Speaker 4: you've clearly made a change, You've made some progress, and
- 17:04Speaker 4: that's awesome. And if you want to spend it, that's
- 17:06Speaker 4: so your programming. If I'm not telling you what you
- 17:08Speaker 4: should shouldn't do, but I feel like at least a
- 17:10Speaker 4: tiny little bit of it should go somewhere so that
- 17:13Speaker 4: if you have an accident or if something happens, you've
- 17:15Speaker 4: got like a little bit of a cash cushion. And
- 17:18Speaker 4: if you can't leave it in your bank account, putting
- 17:20Speaker 4: it somewhere where you can't see you forget about it. Yes,
- 17:22Speaker 4: it's like a loose change I have a loose change
- 17:25Speaker 4: coin thing that I throw coins in and it'll just
- 17:27Speaker 4: the other I'm like, I have like sixty bucks in there,
- 17:29Speaker 4: like wow, just from coins that I forgot about. It
- 17:31Speaker 4: is in the top of my cupboard. So I feel
- 17:33Speaker 4: like if you do that, and if every pay you
- 17:34Speaker 4: take out fifty dollars or whatever, and you're putting you
- 17:37Speaker 4: a little thing. Then one day when you're like, oh
- 17:39Speaker 4: I really need money or I really want to buy something,
- 17:42Speaker 4: you can open it and be like, oh my god,
- 17:44Speaker 4: my hard work is just sitting there waiting for me.
- 17:46Speaker 4: That is a great idea. I I want you to
- 17:49Speaker 4: honor this exciting moment in whatever way it works for you,
- 17:53Speaker 4: but I feel like we need to do something special
- 17:55Speaker 4: with it. Thank you. That is so sweet. That's a
- 17:58Speaker 4: very very good advice.
- 17:59Speaker 5: I did try to do something similar, and I'm not
- 18:01Speaker 5: saying this is going to be the same scenario, but
- 18:03Speaker 5: like about two months ago, because as you know, I
- 18:05Speaker 5: get paid monthly, I put literally fifty bucks in there,
- 18:09Speaker 5: and I thought that'll be like that's you're going to
- 18:11Speaker 5: be fine without that. About a week later, I had
- 18:14Speaker 5: like my tweezers, my nail, my sisters, anything.
- 18:18Speaker 4: I was trying to break that. Did you get it out?
- 18:21Speaker 4: Finally got it out?
- 18:22Speaker 5: So long they are unbreakable, So do not put anything
- 18:26Speaker 5: in there you're not willing to give up for a
- 18:28Speaker 5: little while because you cannot get into that.
- 18:30Speaker 4: They're well designed and very very well designed. That's really funny.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Oh the congratulations and thank you for sharing that with everyone,
- 18:40Speaker 4: because that's like, of course, not a not an easy
- 18:42Speaker 4: thing to talk about sometimes, Oh.
- 18:43Speaker 5: Not a problem, and thank you for the question, and
- 18:45Speaker 5: but dot.
- 18:50Speaker 4: Here's a good question, because I really like doing this.
- 18:52Speaker 4: This is from Denie. She said, talking about gifts, how
- 18:57Speaker 4: do you be respectful with three gifts? My budget isn't
- 19:01Speaker 4: the same as that of the receiver. So I think
- 19:03Speaker 4: she's saying that maybe she earns less than the person.
- 19:07Speaker 4: Just give me a gift. Two, she's considering regifting something.
- 19:10Speaker 4: I'm a big fan of the regift. Yeah, And I
- 19:12Speaker 4: feel like that might be controversial to say, because I
- 19:15Speaker 4: love to give gifts as well, and I know that
- 19:17Speaker 4: a lot of love and a lot of thought often
- 19:19Speaker 4: goes into them. My personal opinion is, if you receive
- 19:23Speaker 4: something and you're not going to use it, the act
- 19:26Speaker 4: of being able to give that gift to somebody else
- 19:29Speaker 4: who you feel like will love it. The gift that
- 19:32Speaker 4: you have received from the person who gave it to
- 19:34Speaker 4: you is the ability to then give a gift to
- 19:37Speaker 4: somebody else. Like, you're still in my mind, you're still
- 19:40Speaker 4: it's not you're not giving it away and going, ah,
- 19:42Speaker 4: screw that, I don't like it. Yes, Like you're still
- 19:44Speaker 4: receiving a gift, and that gift is the ability to
- 19:47Speaker 4: give a gift, which I think is lovely. I feel
- 19:49Speaker 4: like the rule of thumb is I wouldn't tell somebody
- 19:52Speaker 4: that you're regifting. Yes, that's the that's I'm fully in
- 19:56Speaker 4: support of it. If I've gifted something to someone and
- 19:58Speaker 4: they've gifted on I don't care, But I also don't
- 20:01Speaker 4: know that I want to know about it, right right right.
- 20:03Speaker 5: Well, that's it's a bit tricky because I feel like
- 20:05Speaker 5: if you're regifting, you just got to make sure that
- 20:08Speaker 5: person's not in the same brand group and you're opening
- 20:11Speaker 5: those presents in front of other people, because someone somewhere
- 20:15Speaker 5: might think that's a very familiar looking gift.
- 20:18Speaker 4: Dependaspacify it is to deparently not real.
- 20:24Speaker 5: Name to somebody else, like a painted portrait of you,
- 20:29Speaker 5: even the bottom.
- 20:30Speaker 4: Of wine or you know, there are so many things
- 20:33Speaker 4: that I feel like are more general. Isn't it better
- 20:35Speaker 4: for something to go to a home where it's going
- 20:36Speaker 4: to be loved rather than going to landfill if it
- 20:38Speaker 4: goes in the bin or sitting in the back of
- 20:39Speaker 4: a cupboard, just not doing anything. That's very true? Are
- 20:42Speaker 4: you a regift?
- 20:44Speaker 5: I am a bit of a regifted but yes, obviously
- 20:45Speaker 5: I like the gift is quite like what would you
- 20:48Speaker 5: say personal? Like yeah, if it's if it's not too personal,
- 20:51Speaker 5: like if it's like obviously not like a frame front
- 20:52Speaker 5: of me and my best friend, I will give If
- 20:55Speaker 5: I'm not going to.
- 20:56Speaker 4: Use it, I'll probably regift it.
- 20:57Speaker 5: But I guess like also is how listener wanting to
- 20:59Speaker 5: know if like what our solution is, like if you
- 21:03Speaker 5: don't have the scene, like if don't have the budget
- 21:04Speaker 5: to be gifting something.
- 21:06Speaker 4: We're in charge today, Okay, so we have.
- 21:09Speaker 5: Something very exciting. Our producer is going to be handling
- 21:12Speaker 5: this one. It's not a question more of a statement.
- 21:15Speaker 5: It is shares some behind the scenes info and so
- 21:19Speaker 5: who bet have to give us behind the scenes info?
- 21:21Speaker 5: Then are behind the scenes queen and Lisa?
- 21:26Speaker 2: Who's that? Oh hi, how are you going? B? And
- 21:29Speaker 2: jays that.
- 21:32Speaker 4: That is so smooth first.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Annual being Jadq and A I'm so excited for this.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Sending thoughts and prayers to VD out there voiceless in
- 21:41Speaker 2: the oblivion in the Belie. We hope to have her
- 21:42Speaker 2: back next week when she talks there. So am I not?
- 21:47Speaker 4: I it went welcome literally. She sent me a voice
- 21:50Speaker 4: note the other day and she was like, mag it
- 21:52Speaker 4: was so funny.
- 21:55Speaker 2: See, okay, so so you want me for this behind
- 21:58Speaker 2: the scenes stuff. So I don't know I can reveal
- 22:00Speaker 2: this is a producers secret tricks. I sign it, I
- 22:04Speaker 2: sign a No, I don't sign it. The magic of podcasting,
- 22:09Speaker 2: you know, we like to keep all of our secrets
- 22:11Speaker 2: under the rug.
- 22:12Speaker 4: That you do.
- 22:13Speaker 5: You don't have to give us anything to I just
- 22:15Speaker 5: wanted to know who is your favorite?
- 22:21Speaker 2: Nothing crazy, definitely Sam. Look, I don't know what what
- 22:26Speaker 2: kind of juicy dats do you want from me? Actually,
- 22:28Speaker 2: here's one. The one thing that works whenever any of
- 22:31Speaker 2: your voices fail. What is it that I threaten you
- 22:33Speaker 2: with other than severe discipline, I offer you something friend
- 22:38Speaker 2: to get you back in the game. And people treat
- 22:42Speaker 2: this like it's a punishment. Literally, it saves the show
- 22:46Speaker 2: so many times. I have to say, I don't think
- 22:48Speaker 2: I've ever actually had one. Yeah, you've never needed a few,
- 22:51Speaker 2: You don't need one. Yes, your your voice is rather robust.
- 22:54Speaker 4: But who does.
- 22:55Speaker 2: A tremendous amount of her voice is her absolute weapon
- 23:01Speaker 2: and her gift, and I am forever if she's coughing
- 23:04Speaker 2: or spluttering too much. All I have to do is
- 23:06Speaker 2: reach into my bag and shake it at.
- 23:08Speaker 5: Her, and the look of terror in her eyes, cries
- 23:11Speaker 5: and cries and cries. Is it's literal torture, like I
- 23:17Speaker 5: would you know, you know you you'll force it down
- 23:19Speaker 5: our throat for sure.
- 23:20Speaker 4: But it does work.
- 23:21Speaker 2: It really does work. So any of you out there
- 23:23Speaker 2: whoever have a have to speak for something and it's
- 23:27Speaker 2: not working. Friends, And to bring it back to she's
- 23:30Speaker 2: on the money, they've rather cost effective. Oh, I think
- 23:33Speaker 2: it's like one dollars from from wherever you get your
- 23:36Speaker 2: fisherman's friends, and they will last you about ten years.
- 23:40Speaker 5: That's true, that one packet, even if you have one,
- 23:43Speaker 5: every money win, it's going to last your ten years.
- 23:47Speaker 4: That's incredible.
- 23:48Speaker 5: Would that would that be a money win? Would that
- 23:50Speaker 5: be a broke tip? You reckon the way you could girl?
- 23:52Speaker 4: Either way?
- 23:53Speaker 5: I think it's yeah, it's definitely right in the middle. Okay,
- 23:55Speaker 5: what other questions do I have for you that's behind
- 23:57Speaker 5: the scenes related?
- 23:58Speaker 2: Do you have anything one that I would like to
- 24:00Speaker 2: bring up? Because I thought I thought that this was
- 24:03Speaker 2: something that would dominate everything that we talked about from
- 24:06Speaker 2: forever on the show, and it didn't actually really come up.
- 24:09Speaker 2: It came up in a video. But jay Rick a
- 24:11Speaker 2: couple of weeks ago, was lovely and went to was
- 24:14Speaker 2: It Cat jay Rick and bought a bunch of toys
- 24:18Speaker 2: for two other members of the team who tend to
- 24:20Speaker 2: get a little bit distracted while we were recording. Jay Rick,
- 24:23Speaker 2: you thought that that would actually help focus.
- 24:26Speaker 4: We have a few neurospicy friends on the team. We
- 24:28Speaker 4: do wish you know, it's fine, and we you guys
- 24:31Speaker 4: sit in the studio for long chunks of time, something big, huge,
- 24:37Speaker 4: it's hard to focus, and some people wrap their cord
- 24:41Speaker 4: around and some people like to shake things or rattle things,
- 24:47Speaker 4: and so we thought, you know what'll fix that stress ball?
- 24:50Speaker 2: Well, this is how I consider it. You are, jay Rik.
- 24:52Speaker 2: You saw Beck's knuckles turning blue, as did I. I
- 24:56Speaker 2: was just laughing that you made a little mental mental
- 25:00Speaker 2: went what can I what won't cut the circulation off
- 25:04Speaker 2: hands while she's trying to record the show? I know,
- 25:07Speaker 2: And yeah, that was a fun day.
- 25:08Speaker 4: If you're not following us on Instagram, you missed out,
- 25:11Speaker 4: because what happened was I brought them and everyone got
- 25:13Speaker 4: very excited there was a stress ball for all and
- 25:16Speaker 4: then we started recording a Friday Drinks and we couldn't
- 25:19Speaker 4: get started because Beck and Victoria were like flinging.
- 25:26Speaker 5: It was quite incredible because we were swinging these things,
- 25:29Speaker 5: but they would not hit each other.
- 25:30Speaker 4: And that's why, like, I just couldn't.
- 25:32Speaker 5: It was just I couldn't move forward unless they organically
- 25:37Speaker 5: hit each other.
- 25:37Speaker 2: They couldn't.
- 25:38Speaker 4: They did it anyway.
- 25:39Speaker 2: So that's my.
- 25:40Speaker 4: Content that you can expect on my Instagram.
- 25:43Speaker 5: I definitely followed j Rick. I feel like you're my
- 25:46Speaker 5: favorite influencer.
- 25:47Speaker 4: Stop it. I'm definitely not an influencer, but I'll take
- 25:50Speaker 4: favoritism absolutely, no.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:55Speaker 4: And I refused to pay for one. I just you
- 25:56Speaker 4: can pay for one now anyone can pay for a tea,
- 25:59Speaker 4: which is because I have a business, but also I
- 26:02Speaker 4: feel like it defeats the purpose totally. Do you know
- 26:05Speaker 4: if they are verified? I don't have They're famous on it?
- 26:08Speaker 5: Literally, I'm not famous.
- 26:11Speaker 2: When when the tick got off it, I was like,
- 26:12Speaker 2: oh am I, Oh no wait, you can pay for
- 26:15Speaker 2: it now?
- 26:15Speaker 4: Okay you need a tick? Am I able to nominate?
- 26:24Speaker 4: To nominate? You can? I say what your like? What
- 26:28Speaker 4: your show?
- 26:29Speaker 5: Is is that allowed all of your famous things you
- 26:33Speaker 5: got going on?
- 26:34Speaker 2: Well, I am the producer, so I can just come.
- 26:37Speaker 4: That's very true.
- 26:38Speaker 5: I'm going the name drop anly so really quick. So
- 26:40Speaker 5: on Triple R she has a Friday evening show. She
- 26:43Speaker 5: took that slot from a very very popular.
- 26:46Speaker 2: I didn't take it.
- 26:47Speaker 5: It was he wrapped up, wrapped, She did it. No,
- 26:51Speaker 5: she was offered the very very popular Friday evening slot.
- 26:55Speaker 2: The show is called me on something you want to
- 26:57Speaker 2: it properly? Thank you? Yes, yes?
- 27:00Speaker 5: On Sunset is I'm sure very relevant everyone and your
- 27:02Speaker 5: band well sor are you?
- 27:03Speaker 2: Thank you so much? Beck? I appreciate that new single
- 27:05Speaker 2: out now. But anyway, as your producer, I'm going to say,
- 27:08Speaker 2: moving right along, give the wonderful she's on the money
- 27:10Speaker 2: listeners what they want for their Friday. So what's the
- 27:12Speaker 2: next question?
- 27:13Speaker 4: Next question is all about working with VD. I thought
- 27:15Speaker 4: she can't be here, but let's have a little chat
- 27:17Speaker 4: about that. And it comes from Maddie who said, what's
- 27:20Speaker 4: your biggest love and biggest pet hate about working with me?
- 27:23Speaker 2: Ah?
- 27:25Speaker 4: Oh okay. I feel like Victoria is very sun I
- 27:29Speaker 4: think I've never had a relationship with a boss like
- 27:31Speaker 4: what I have with Victoria, and it's very special and
- 27:33Speaker 4: I feel very thankful and she's just a really good, kind,
- 27:37Speaker 4: supportive person And it doesn't feel like she's, you know,
- 27:42Speaker 4: an overbearing boss. I've had a lot of those, and
- 27:44Speaker 4: that's not the experience at all. But I feel like
- 27:47Speaker 4: the biggest pet hate that comes off the back of
- 27:49Speaker 4: that is sometimes I feel like I have to be
- 27:51Speaker 4: in the like, sit down and focus on your work,
- 27:55Speaker 4: because she does have ADHD and it's part of what
- 27:58Speaker 4: makes her so absolutely brilliant at what she does. But
- 28:01Speaker 4: also sometimes I'm like, I can't keep up with your brain.
- 28:04Speaker 4: Like her brain runs a million miles a minute and
- 28:07Speaker 4: I just struggle to keep up with her. She's all
- 28:10Speaker 4: the way over here and I'm all the way down here,
- 28:12Speaker 4: and I'm like, how did we what happened to the
- 28:16Speaker 4: original of the movie, Like I just don't understand it all. Yeah,
- 28:20Speaker 4: but that's also what keeps things fun and fresh. Yes,
- 28:22Speaker 4: very true. I'm like, I'm gonna say something very similar, Really,
- 28:25Speaker 4: is that why you made me go first? It could exactly.
- 28:29Speaker 5: I got to have no material banked of so just kidding.
- 28:32Speaker 4: No, I love working with to She.
- 28:34Speaker 5: Is very fun charismatic. She's so good, Like she will
- 28:39Speaker 5: be talking all day and it never like she never
- 28:42Speaker 5: gets I don't know how to say it, but like
- 28:44Speaker 5: she feels like she never gets tired, and if she.
- 28:47Speaker 4: Does tea, she doesn't show it.
- 28:49Speaker 5: Definitely, Whereas I will be like half an hour in
- 28:52Speaker 5: and I'm so like, okay, i am going to need
- 28:55Speaker 5: a break now.
- 28:56Speaker 4: Yeah, she's just so good. She's so good. But I
- 28:59Speaker 4: would say your biggest pep peeve.
- 29:02Speaker 5: Also probably the same thing. She does get distracted a lot.
- 29:05Speaker 5: I know that's probably her ADHD, but we and then
- 29:08Speaker 5: I get distracted something.
- 29:09Speaker 4: You get set off, I get set off.
- 29:11Speaker 2: I think.
- 29:11Speaker 5: So Victoria has unofficially diagnosed me also with ADHD, and
- 29:15Speaker 5: it feels right.
- 29:16Speaker 4: I haven't got any diagnosed technology. Oh there you go. Okay,
- 29:20Speaker 4: she's not a psychologist, but she did study psycho.
- 29:22Speaker 5: She did, so she might know. But once she gets
- 29:25Speaker 5: starts telling me something, then I'm gone, Like I'm done
- 29:28Speaker 5: for I'm gonna be so invested in this and whatever,
- 29:31Speaker 5: Like if she brings something fun to the table or
- 29:33Speaker 5: you bring these toys, we're both gone. It takes us
- 29:36Speaker 5: so long to get straight back down to it, you know,
- 29:39Speaker 5: Our normal formation at the table is Beckon Victorious across
- 29:42Speaker 5: reach and then we see it like a rectangular ish
- 29:43Speaker 5: table beck and Victoria across from each other, and Analisa
- 29:46Speaker 5: and I are across from each other.
- 29:48Speaker 4: And sometimes you guys will just.
- 29:49Speaker 5: Be like zoning like you are gone, good luck, have fun,
- 29:53Speaker 5: and Analisa and I just lock eyes across the table.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Yes, I second that, j Ris. The formation works because
- 30:00Speaker 2: you and I can sort of stare into each other's eyes.
- 30:03Speaker 2: We need what.
- 30:06Speaker 4: We need to We need to break.
- 30:07Speaker 2: We need to break you.
- 30:08Speaker 5: To up maybe because then like you won't Jay Rick,
- 30:12Speaker 5: you won't make me feel distracted, and vice versa with
- 30:14Speaker 5: like you and Gutoria.
- 30:16Speaker 2: So also Lucy is usually on the floor legs a
- 30:19Speaker 2: kimbo dreaming dreamings, yes, gassing us all yeah, actually I've
- 30:28Speaker 2: got some beef with Lucy. Yeah, no, all right, moving along,
- 30:35Speaker 2: I reckon, Hey, you know what, I think it's almost
- 30:37Speaker 2: time to put a pin in it.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Yea, because we're satisfyed.
