- Jessica Figueroa: Hello, everyone. My name is Cindy, and I love being here together on our Just For Today podcast. Just for today, we are going to talk about self-sabotage. You can look this term up for yourself, but I need you to think about self-sabotage. There is areas in all of our life where we have our foot on the gas and the break at the same time. There's areas where you're like, I'm full steam ahead. I'm doing this. I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna create this. I'm getting this job. I'm changing this. But then somewhere else you have your foot on a break. And it's at the same time. The problem is we don't know right off the bat where we have our foot on the brake. But it's easy to figure out. It's easy. You just have to take time. Where are the areas in your life you could just never something you want so bad, but it's just not coming to fruition. Something you desire to have or be or a friendship or a relationship. What is something that you're really desiring that it's just not happening? Now, listen, we want to remember God is sovereign and his timing on everything is sovereign. So depending on your scenario, like maybe you want a family and it's not happening and things like that. I I'm not talking about, I'm talking about things in your own personal life. You want to grow and change. So I want you to think about where there's areas in your life where you've given yourself the go-ahead. You've got your foot on that gas, but somewhere in a different part of you. Your foot is also on the break. So you're not getting that movement. You're not getting that propulsion. You're not seeing and feeling change. This could be self-sabotage in your life. Well, why do we self-sabotage? Why do we ruin ourselves? It's because sometimes, sometimes that we have a conflict. There's a conflict between something we want and the fears, habits, and comforts we have today. So maybe it's something you want. You've always desired for your children to have experiences and things. And you're like, great, I'm gonna get a job, a part-time, great part-time job, so I can, you know, provide these things for them. But then maybe you have this fear of leaving them. Maybe you have this fear of the guilt of working part-time. And maybe the answer isn't that you go to work, but the answer is never fear. So today we're gonna work on self-sabotage. And thinking about the areas of our life where we have our foot on the gas and our other foot on the brake. Because that's not good for our brake pads, that's not a good driving exercise, and it's not good for our lives. We either want to have one foot, you should not be driving with your left foot. I know some of you out there are two feet drivers. And if you do not have a stick shift or a manual, you should be using just one foot to drive, go back and forth. And you want to do the same thing in your life. You want to have your foot on the gas, or you want to use the same foot to put it on the brake if you need to stop. Or remember you can always take it off of both and just coast for a little bit. Self sabotage, guys. Let's look it up and let's not let it control our lives. You're doing great, just one day at a time. Talk to you tomorrow.
