- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello.
- 0:01Speaker 2: My name is Satasha Nabananga Bamblet. I'm a proud or
- 0:04Speaker 2: the Order Kerni Whoalbury and a waddery woman. And before
- 0:08Speaker 2: we get started on She's on the Money podcast, I
- 0:11Speaker 2: would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land
- 0:14Speaker 2: of which this podcast is recorded on a wondery country,
- 0:18Speaker 2: acknowledging the elders, the ancestors and the next generation coming
- 0:22Speaker 2: through as this podcast is about connecting, empowering, knowledge sharing
- 0:27Speaker 2: and the storytelling of you to make a difference for
- 0:30Speaker 2: today and lasting impact for tomorrow.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Let's get into it.
- 0:34Speaker 3: She's on the Money, She's on the Money.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Hello, and welcome to She's on the Money, the podcast
- 0:59Speaker 4: that were and just tell you to think rich, but
- 1:02Speaker 4: we'll actually show you how to get rich. If you've
- 1:04Speaker 4: been on TikTok lately, you've probably seen people claiming they
- 1:07Speaker 4: manifested a dream job, a new car, or even thousands
- 1:10Speaker 4: of dollars. But is this just luck or a mindset shift,
- 1:14Speaker 4: or is there something else entirely at play. I'm excited
- 1:17Speaker 4: in joining me today is a woman who happens to
- 1:18Speaker 4: be a finance expert and have a background in behavioral psychology,
- 1:22Speaker 4: so basically the perfect person to help us get to
- 1:25Speaker 4: the bottom of these questions.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I'm so excited about this.
- 1:29Speaker 5: Ah, this is something that grinds my gears. And a
- 1:34Speaker 5: lot of people are going to be like, Victoria divine,
- 1:37Speaker 5: what are you doing? Why are you saying manifestation isn't real?
- 1:41Speaker 5: That's going to make a lot of people mad. Totally
- 1:44Speaker 5: just a GRICI who we love and adoor and she
- 1:46Speaker 5: can manifest things on Facebook Marketplace and I'm all like, yep,
- 1:50Speaker 5: you go, Queen, Like I'm ten out of ten on
- 1:52Speaker 5: board with this. Yes, I still don't believe that manifestation
- 1:55Speaker 5: is real.
- 1:55Speaker 4: I have to say I feel a bit similar, and
- 1:57Speaker 4: I think that it can be a self fulfilling profit.
- 2:00Speaker 4: See if you manifest something.
- 2:01Speaker 5: So bad that I'm like, oh, it's not real. And
- 2:03Speaker 5: so many people are like, oh my god, I manifested this.
- 2:05Speaker 5: I manifested my dream life. I manifested a new car,
- 2:08Speaker 5: manifested a pay rise.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Like you actually didn't you work hard?
- 2:13Speaker 5: You did that, you did that, you didn't manifest it.
- 2:16Speaker 5: And like, I'm a very big believer in talking to
- 2:19Speaker 5: the universe. Like growing up, my mom and I used
- 2:21Speaker 5: to talk about like, oh, if you want something, like
- 2:24Speaker 5: throw it out to the universe. And I love that
- 2:27Speaker 5: concept of like, you know, sharing something because like even
- 2:31Speaker 5: when we like look at the research, right, we know
- 2:34Speaker 5: that if you write down a goal, you're more likely
- 2:36Speaker 5: to achieve it because it becomes more real. And I
- 2:39Speaker 5: think this concept of manifestation is quite similar. It's just
- 2:43Speaker 5: you actioning plans, but you're giving the credit to someone
- 2:48Speaker 5: else other than you. And I don't like that, nor
- 2:51Speaker 5: that we should be proud of what we've done and
- 2:53Speaker 5: what we've achieved, because it's not luck.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Like you're not a lucky girl.
- 2:57Speaker 5: You are actually just working hard and keeping your eye
- 3:00Speaker 5: on the price.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Oh yeah, Like that's this episode. I thought you were
- 3:03Speaker 4: going to squash some dreams, but I feel like.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I've squashed some dreams.
- 3:07Speaker 5: But then I'm going to bring you back up and
- 3:08Speaker 5: will actually, Babe, it's you, and you should be proud
- 3:11Speaker 5: of you, and this is how it works, and this
- 3:13Speaker 5: is what it looks like.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Because I'm not going to give the credit to someone else. Absolutely.
- 3:17Speaker 4: I think at the end of the episode will be like,
- 3:19Speaker 4: you know where the power was all along within us? Okay,
- 3:23Speaker 4: it's going to be really fluffy oh yeah, So before
- 3:26Speaker 4: we get too deep into where the manifestation actually works,
- 3:29Speaker 4: let's have done it properly.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Yeah, sorry, I'm going to ruin that.
- 3:32Speaker 5: I feel like, okay, I should have done like a
- 3:34Speaker 5: hook and then like, oh, what have these thoughts?
- 3:35Speaker 1: I'll tell you after the breton. I already told you. Sorry,
- 3:38Speaker 1: my adhd jo Dad.
- 3:39Speaker 4: She's not a mysterious woman exactly how she's feel.
- 3:43Speaker 5: Like, do you know how many social interactions I go
- 3:45Speaker 5: into And I'm like, wow, I really overdisclosed there.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Well I know my entire personal history.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Hey, we love an overshareer. Yeah, look, I'm not mad. No,
- 3:54Speaker 4: So when people talk about manifesting money, what do they
- 3:57Speaker 4: actually mean?
- 3:58Speaker 5: Like, it's this concept that you're believe can shape and
- 4:01Speaker 5: create reality, and that's really nice. Like the concept of
- 4:04Speaker 5: this is really good. And the idea is that by
- 4:08Speaker 5: simply focusing on something in particular it could be like
- 4:11Speaker 5: wealth or success or even love, you're able to like
- 4:14Speaker 5: attract it into your life. And I think that that
- 4:17Speaker 5: at a crux is true, like the more you focus
- 4:21Speaker 5: on something, the more likely you are to recognize that
- 4:25Speaker 5: and you can attract it into your life back and
- 4:28Speaker 5: you know, there's a lot to it. I'll tell you
- 4:30Speaker 5: in a hot second about my yellow Honda Jazz. Oh yeah, Okayrie, Like,
- 4:34Speaker 5: that's my theory I have coined. But the idea is
- 4:39Speaker 5: actually deeply rooted in what they call the law of attraction.
- 4:42Speaker 5: I think we've all heard of the laws of attraction
- 4:44Speaker 5: and how that works, and that suggests that positive thoughts
- 4:47Speaker 5: then bring positive outcomes, will negative thoughts bring negative ones?
- 4:51Speaker 1: And this concept has.
- 4:53Speaker 5: Been so popular after the book and then like subsequent
- 4:56Speaker 5: TV series The Secret came out.
- 4:59Speaker 1: I don't know if you've heard of that.
- 5:00Speaker 5: I watched it and I was like, this is hufflepuffle fluff,
- 5:04Speaker 5: Like that's not for me. But I do, on a
- 5:08Speaker 5: base level think that as individuals, we attract what we
- 5:13Speaker 5: are searching for. We are literally trying to find particular things.
- 5:19Speaker 5: It's like confirmation bias, right, And this is a legit
- 5:23Speaker 5: psychological phenomenon where beck you might have a particular political view,
- 5:28Speaker 5: and therefore any information I put on the table that
- 5:32Speaker 5: disregards that or is in opposition of that, You're probably
- 5:35Speaker 5: going to be like, it's not real. You're probably gonna
- 5:37Speaker 5: be like, no, that's not for me. You're also not
- 5:39Speaker 5: going to take the time and energy and effort to
- 5:41Speaker 5: dive into that information. But if I present you with
- 5:45Speaker 5: some research that further confirms an opinion or a belief
- 5:48Speaker 5: you already hold, you're going to be like, oh, this
- 5:50Speaker 5: is legit.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I told you it was real.
- 5:52Speaker 5: Yeah, Like I definitely knew that already, so it's a
- 5:56Speaker 5: legitimate phenomenon.
- 5:57Speaker 1: And that's okay.
- 5:58Speaker 5: But confirmation exists in human nature, and I think that
- 6:02Speaker 5: as human beings we really love this concept of manifestation
- 6:07Speaker 5: because it is all about attracting more positiveness, and as humans,
- 6:11Speaker 5: we are hard wired to be inherently negative.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Beck right, you know I've spoke about this on the
- 6:17Speaker 1: podcast before.
- 6:18Speaker 5: If we go back to like caveman times, it was
- 6:21Speaker 5: fight flight, like you didn't have like, oh, I'm going
- 6:24Speaker 5: to like manifest positive energy, Like you had to make
- 6:27Speaker 5: sure that you had food and water, and often that
- 6:29Speaker 5: meant being really aggressive and fighting over that and always
- 6:33Speaker 5: planning for the worst, like what winter's coming. We need
- 6:35Speaker 5: to stockpile things, We need to make sure that we
- 6:37Speaker 5: are protecting ourselves, that we are warm, like all of
- 6:40Speaker 5: those basic needs needed to be met, and the best
- 6:43Speaker 5: way to do that is with a sense of fear
- 6:46Speaker 5: with the sense of like, you know, making sure that
- 6:48Speaker 5: we have these things, because if you didn't have that
- 6:50Speaker 5: sense of fear or you know, feel like you needed
- 6:52Speaker 5: to control that, how were you going to survive?
- 6:54Speaker 1: Yeah, but we flip that.
- 6:56Speaker 5: We're now in twenty twenty five and most of us
- 7:01Speaker 5: have the privilege of having our basic needs met. And
- 7:04Speaker 5: I'm saying most of us because they don't want people
- 7:06Speaker 5: to listen to this and be like, well, I don't
- 7:07Speaker 5: have that, and that is awful, and that's why I exist.
- 7:10Speaker 5: And I want you to learn and be able to
- 7:13Speaker 5: access information that puts you in a different position. But
- 7:15Speaker 5: like most of us have access to safe food, safe water,
- 7:20Speaker 5: We have a roof over our heads, you know, we
- 7:23Speaker 5: have secure attachments, and we are okay. So now we
- 7:26Speaker 5: have the privilege of being able to create a positive life.
- 7:29Speaker 5: It doesn't actually come inherently natural to us. It actually
- 7:32Speaker 5: comes as a challenge to everything we are hardwired to do.
- 7:37Speaker 5: So people who are really positive, they've just been practicing
- 7:40Speaker 5: it better. It's kind of like a muscle. It's kind
- 7:42Speaker 5: of like having some memory and being able to flex
- 7:45Speaker 5: that muscle. And my yellow Honda Jazz theory back when
- 7:50Speaker 5: was the last time you saw a bright yellow Honda Jazz.
- 7:53Speaker 4: I think I know where you're going.
- 7:54Speaker 5: I promise over the next week you can see so
- 7:57Speaker 5: many of them. You are going to see so many
- 7:59Speaker 5: yellow Honda jazz Is. They are going to be everywhere.
- 8:02Speaker 5: You know, that bright yellow Yeah, you know, go to.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Me like, not that many people have them.
- 8:06Speaker 5: That many people have them, but you're not noticing them
- 8:08Speaker 5: because you weren't looking for them. So if we are
- 8:11Speaker 5: not looking for something, we are disregarding it. But if
- 8:14Speaker 5: we start to go, oh, I want more positive energy,
- 8:17Speaker 5: or I want to really focus on good things.
- 8:19Speaker 1: That happen to me.
- 8:20Speaker 5: Beck, I'm so fluffy, and I have really been focusing
- 8:24Speaker 5: on my mindset and I've been really focusing on, you know,
- 8:27Speaker 5: embracing positive things.
- 8:29Speaker 1: I literally have.
- 8:30Speaker 5: A note pinned in my phone and it says, good
- 8:33Speaker 5: things happen to me, And it's a list of things
- 8:36Speaker 5: that are good that have happened to me, and I
- 8:38Speaker 5: make a conscious effort to write them down. It could
- 8:42Speaker 5: be Zara picked up a coffee on the way to
- 8:45Speaker 5: work for me and that was really sweet, or it
- 8:47Speaker 5: could be, you know, something really positive, like I got
- 8:49Speaker 5: my dream client, but it's not about you know, how
- 8:54Speaker 5: big or small they are. It's about making a conscious
- 8:56Speaker 5: effort to reiterate to myself the good things that happening.
- 9:00Speaker 5: Because when I'm reiterating that, I'm consistently looking for more
- 9:03Speaker 5: good things to add to the list, and therefore my
- 9:05Speaker 5: life is becoming more positive because I'm searching it out.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Beck. That's beautiful, Vda.
- 9:10Speaker 5: So it's not just about you know, positive vibes and like,
- 9:14Speaker 5: that's where I'm at in my journey right now. I
- 9:16Speaker 5: want to make sure that I'm really focusing on the
- 9:18Speaker 5: positive because when I'm focusing on the positive, I am
- 9:21Speaker 5: happier and kinder and all of these other things. And
- 9:24Speaker 5: I feel like that's the energy I want to be
- 9:25Speaker 5: bringing into the room every day. But you might say, well,
- 9:29Speaker 5: I really need to save or I really need to invest,
- 9:31Speaker 5: and that's where we really want to focus on. You know,
- 9:34Speaker 5: maybe you have a list and it's like, I'm really
- 9:37Speaker 5: good at saving, and you like, make a list of
- 9:39Speaker 5: all the good things that you did that are positive
- 9:42Speaker 5: steps towards that saving skull. Yeah, you know you might, Beck,
- 9:46Speaker 5: And I'm going to use you as an example, be like, oh,
- 9:48Speaker 5: v I didn't buy coffee again today. That might be
- 9:51Speaker 5: small to other people, but to you, like, I know
- 9:53Speaker 5: that's a lot, Like you love a coffee, and I
- 9:56Speaker 5: think that it's so important to be like, yeah, I
- 9:59Speaker 5: actually upheld my savings goal, or I you know, it
- 10:02Speaker 5: was able to chuck an extra five bucks in here,
- 10:04Speaker 5: Like let's find small good things. Yeah, because we are
- 10:06Speaker 5: so used to telling ourselves these negative stories and we
- 10:11Speaker 5: are so used to confirmation bias that And I'm going
- 10:15Speaker 5: to use you as an example again because you've spoken
- 10:17Speaker 5: about it before. You have said before on this podcast, Victoria,
- 10:20Speaker 5: I'm so bad at money, Yes, but you're not. You're
- 10:24Speaker 5: just seeing all the things. But like you have set
- 10:27Speaker 5: up so many cool things this year to put yourself
- 10:29Speaker 5: in a better position, Like you have a new job,
- 10:31Speaker 5: you've got a great income, You've started to really prioritize
- 10:34Speaker 5: your savings. You have done all these great things. I
- 10:37Speaker 5: would argue that you're not bad at money, you're just
- 10:39Speaker 5: not on that journey and so far down the line
- 10:42Speaker 5: that you've got you know, mass amounts of savings and
- 10:44Speaker 5: your investment and whatnot.
- 10:45Speaker 1: But like you're investing, you're saving your money.
- 10:48Speaker 5: I know you're transferring the money for coffee, like little
- 10:51Speaker 5: things in the right direction. But like you're good at
- 10:53Speaker 5: this thank YOUVD, You're not searching for confirmation of that.
- 10:57Speaker 5: You are probably so hard wired to start searching for
- 11:02Speaker 5: things that reiterate old you. Yeah, like, if you hypothetically
- 11:06Speaker 5: fell off the bandwagon and bought a coffee, you'd be like,
- 11:08Speaker 5: of course I did. I'm Beck, and that's just what
- 11:11Speaker 5: I do. Instead of going, oh my goodness, I fell
- 11:14Speaker 5: off the bandwagon, New BEC wouldn't do that. New Beck
- 11:17Speaker 5: would have X, Y Z, and New Bec would be
- 11:20Speaker 5: celebrating the smaller wins like that are along the way
- 11:23Speaker 5: on the savings journey.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Does that make send?
- 11:25Speaker 4: Yeah, it does.
- 11:25Speaker 5: So it's not whether you want to be more positive
- 11:28Speaker 5: or manifest you know, heaps of savings like Beck, If
- 11:32Speaker 5: you said I'm going to start manifesting savings, I would
- 11:34Speaker 5: be like, well, you're not setting yourself up for success,
- 11:37Speaker 5: because success actually has a step by step plan. Yeah,
- 11:41Speaker 5: right now, you're gonna let somebody else take the credit
- 11:44Speaker 5: for your good change.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Huh No, Yeah, absolutely not so.
- 11:48Speaker 5: I think it's not so important to start talking about
- 11:52Speaker 5: you know, what this actually means for you and all
- 11:55Speaker 5: of these manifestation people online who are like, oh my god,
- 11:57Speaker 5: I manifested this, girl. No, you did, didn't manifest it.
- 12:01Speaker 5: You just wrote down a plan and then you made
- 12:03Speaker 5: that plan happen. How many times have you heard people
- 12:05Speaker 5: on TikTok talking about I manifested this because I journaled
- 12:08Speaker 5: every morning goal You sat down and you reiterated your goals.
- 12:12Speaker 4: In the morning exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah, seriously, Like that's
- 12:17Speaker 4: easy feet, that's no easy feet.
- 12:19Speaker 1: But you're not giving yourself credit.
- 12:21Speaker 5: You're like letting this fluffier version of you know, goal
- 12:25Speaker 5: setting guide your reality.
- 12:27Speaker 1: And that's so nice.
- 12:28Speaker 5: But like vision boarding, Yeah, that's not manifestation, that's action planning. Yes,
- 12:34Speaker 5: that's so, that's your planning what you want your dream
- 12:37Speaker 5: life to look like, so that those steps you're taking
- 12:39Speaker 5: every single day are easier to understand, easier to visualize. Like,
- 12:44Speaker 5: you know, this coffee thing for you if you are
- 12:47Speaker 5: literally cutting coffee and you feel like you're missing out Beck,
- 12:52Speaker 5: but you had his vision board with really pretty images
- 12:54Speaker 5: that reiterated I'm going to go to this festival and
- 12:57Speaker 5: I'm going to you know, live more of my dream
- 12:59Speaker 5: life and have some savings to go on a holiday.
- 13:01Speaker 1: With my girlfriend.
- 13:02Speaker 5: Jess, like if you saw that every day, would not
- 13:06Speaker 5: not reiterate why the plan is working?
- 13:08Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 13:09Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, and then you would be doing those things
- 13:11Speaker 4: day to day without even realizing.
- 13:13Speaker 5: Really, it's not or I don't think it's manifestation. It's
- 13:16Speaker 5: literally you just did some goal setting and you found
- 13:18Speaker 5: a fancy way to call it manifestation. And we don't
- 13:21Speaker 5: need to reach out to a higher being to help
- 13:23Speaker 5: us do this, because you're the being that does it exactly.
- 13:26Speaker 4: The power is within you, Okay for you. So TikTok says,
- 13:29Speaker 4: you can just think your way to wealth.
- 13:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Absolutely, I've been thinking real hard.
- 13:34Speaker 1: You've been thinking really years.
- 13:36Speaker 4: Yeah, but I still have like seventeen dollars.
- 13:38Speaker 1: We haven't manifested hard. That's the problem.
- 13:40Speaker 4: I think I haven't been manifesting and thinking hard enough.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:43Speaker 4: What does signs say? And can they answer the one
- 13:47Speaker 4: burning question, which is why am I not rich?
- 13:50Speaker 2: Look?
- 13:50Speaker 1: Let me try and answer that.
- 13:51Speaker 5: I guess we're goin to scientific and behavioral site perspective.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Manifestation quotation marks is when we engaging in a series
- 14:02Speaker 5: of I guess psychological and neurological processes. I'm done with that.
- 14:07Speaker 5: It's actually how our brains filter information, which influences our behavior,
- 14:13Speaker 5: which then shapes the way that we make decisions. And
- 14:15Speaker 5: we are reinforcing the ones that we want to keep
- 14:19Speaker 5: and not reinforcing the ones that we don't want to keep. Sure,
- 14:21Speaker 5: so like we are reinforcing processes that are stepping in
- 14:24Speaker 5: the right direction. And I guess if we look at
- 14:27Speaker 5: the process of what actual manifestation looks like or how
- 14:31Speaker 5: it can work, is you're kind of like priming your
- 14:33Speaker 5: brain so that you are now noticing more bright yellow hondageazzes.
- 14:41Speaker 5: You are now noticing more money related opportunities. You are
- 14:46Speaker 5: now you know, consistently filtering information or manifesting what you
- 14:52Speaker 5: want to focus on, Like you are actively trying to
- 14:56Speaker 5: seek out the thing you want more of. And that's
- 14:59Speaker 5: really cool. So I guess if you said av you know,
- 15:03Speaker 5: why don't I reach it? Don't know how to answer
- 15:05Speaker 5: that yet for you, Beck, but I do know how
- 15:06Speaker 5: to say, I want to get richer. That's fantastic. You're
- 15:10Speaker 5: going to start manifesting or you're going to start prioritizing
- 15:15Speaker 5: the question of like I want to increase my income,
- 15:18Speaker 5: and you're consistently looking for opportunities to do that, and
- 15:21Speaker 5: your brain is going to start highlighting you know, maybe
- 15:23Speaker 5: a new job opportunity because that would increase your income.
- 15:26Speaker 5: Maybe you know salary discussions and you're maybe searching out
- 15:29Speaker 5: content online for that. Maybe you are looking at investment opportunities,
- 15:33Speaker 5: or even like you're more likely to leap to doing
- 15:37Speaker 5: some short things on the weekend, like I know that
- 15:39Speaker 5: you do like little jobs here and there for your
- 15:41Speaker 5: friends and family, Like you might be more willing to
- 15:44Speaker 5: take that on because you're like, yeah, I want more money,
- 15:46Speaker 5: like I'm manifesting that. So then this job felt like, oh,
- 15:49Speaker 5: you're manifesting it. But if somebody else had asked you,
- 15:51Speaker 5: i'll beck on the weekend, could you give me a
- 15:53Speaker 5: hand doing this, I'll give you fifty bucks, you might
- 15:55Speaker 5: have been like, oh, it's not really worth it, like
- 15:56Speaker 5: CBS and doing something else.
- 15:58Speaker 1: But if you're really focused on making someone.
- 16:00Speaker 5: You're like, oh, I was saying this week that I
- 16:02Speaker 5: wanted to make more money, and then this opportunity manifested
- 16:06Speaker 5: itself into.
- 16:07Speaker 1: My life for Saturday.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, Like.
- 16:09Speaker 5: You're seeing things differently. And the reason for this is
- 16:13Speaker 5: ras so ARES is the reticular activating system and it
- 16:17Speaker 5: basically acts as like a little gatekeeper, like they're the doorman,
- 16:21Speaker 5: and they are prioritizing what you think is important and
- 16:24Speaker 5: bringing it in and then also being like, nope, you're
- 16:27Speaker 5: not wearing any shoes, you can't come in the pub,
- 16:29Speaker 5: and kicking things out really quickly, so we're not even
- 16:32Speaker 5: considering them. So it's so important because by having this system,
- 16:39Speaker 5: and it's not you actually having to do this, this
- 16:41Speaker 5: is actually how your brain works. We're actually strengthening our
- 16:45Speaker 5: belief in what isn't isn't achievable, which ultimately is going
- 16:48Speaker 5: to boost your confidence. And we need to reiterate these
- 16:51Speaker 5: behaviors right Like I would argue again using you as
- 16:55Speaker 5: an example, that you're more confident with money now, and
- 16:59Speaker 5: it doesn't mean that you have millions in the bank,
- 17:01Speaker 5: but it means that you're probably more likely to make
- 17:04Speaker 5: smaller money decisions with less stress because we are really
- 17:08Speaker 5: focusing on that positive stuff.
- 17:10Speaker 1: But it wasn't manifestation.
- 17:11Speaker 5: It was you creating a plan and starting to reinforce
- 17:14Speaker 5: that the plan is working because you're working on it,
- 17:16Speaker 5: and that actually means that you're changing your narrative and
- 17:19Speaker 5: you're not bad at money, thank YOUVD, but that is
- 17:24Speaker 5: for everybody. That's not just a bech thing, that's all
- 17:27Speaker 5: of us. I was doing a live webinar last night
- 17:30Speaker 5: and I was talking to a whole heap of people
- 17:31Speaker 5: about like budget and cash flow and just we're not
- 17:34Speaker 5: giving ourselves enough credit for the small wins because I
- 17:37Speaker 5: think so often we're comparing ourselves to other people who
- 17:40Speaker 5: are close to us, who might be better at money. And
- 17:42Speaker 5: I know you've mentioned before, Oh, my girlfriend's really good
- 17:44Speaker 5: at money, so your benchmark might actually be however many
- 17:48Speaker 5: savings your girlfriend has, sure, and then you look at
- 17:51Speaker 5: yours and go, I'm crapp in comparison, But.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Like that's not true.
- 17:56Speaker 5: Like you are on your journey and she is on hers,
- 17:59Speaker 5: and she might be like fifty hours into the road
- 18:02Speaker 5: trip and you're like half an hour in, and then
- 18:04Speaker 5: you're like, why aren't I further Like because you haven't
- 18:06Speaker 5: done the driving yet, beck like you've got to spend
- 18:09Speaker 5: the time doing it, and these small steps in the
- 18:11Speaker 5: right direction.
- 18:12Speaker 1: One day you look back and go, oh, my.
- 18:14Speaker 5: Goodness, I drove from Melbourne to Queensland, Like that's wild.
- 18:17Speaker 5: But it didn't feel that way. Yeah, so I think
- 18:19Speaker 5: it's so important to really embrace this because if you're
- 18:23Speaker 5: truly believing that you are capable of building wealth, then
- 18:27Speaker 5: you're more likely to step into places that help you
- 18:30Speaker 5: do that. You're more likely to negotiate a pay rise,
- 18:33Speaker 5: you are more likely to apply for a higher paying job.
- 18:36Speaker 5: You're more likely to stop yourself when you want to
- 18:39Speaker 5: dip into your savings because you're like, no, that's not
- 18:41Speaker 5: worth it because it's not in line with what my
- 18:43Speaker 5: bigger goal is or what I'm trying to achieve.
- 18:46Speaker 1: And why the placebo effect. Yeah, literally the policy place ebo.
- 18:52Speaker 5: It shows that belief alone can change your legit psychological
- 18:57Speaker 5: and behavioral responses. Research that essentially takes one person Beck
- 19:04Speaker 5: and another person. They're both like, have a bit of
- 19:07Speaker 5: a headache. One of them gets panadal, the other gets
- 19:10Speaker 5: are smarty, but they're told it's panadal. They both have
- 19:14Speaker 5: no headache caft. Yes, Like, that's how I want my
- 19:17Speaker 5: money to work. I want you to tell me I
- 19:20Speaker 5: can do it, and then I want to inherently believe it.
- 19:22Speaker 5: And if that means I'm eating as smarty, I don't mind.
- 19:25Speaker 5: It's like those melotonein gummies, like you know, the ones
- 19:28Speaker 5: that you have at night help you sleep.
- 19:29Speaker 1: I don't know if they work. I actually don't.
- 19:32Speaker 5: Well, I continue to take them absolutely. They're just part
- 19:35Speaker 5: of my little process right now, and I believe that
- 19:37Speaker 5: they help me sleep better. And I don't even care
- 19:39Speaker 5: if you say that they don't work, no, because they
- 19:41Speaker 5: are working for me absolutely.
- 19:42Speaker 4: The other night, I actually rolled over and I took
- 19:44Speaker 4: an eyebroprofe thinking it was a little one of my
- 19:46Speaker 4: sleeping helpers, and then I drifted off into the most
- 19:49Speaker 4: beautiful deep sleep. And then I woke up in the
- 19:51Speaker 4: morning it was ybroprofen that I turned around. I was like,
- 19:54Speaker 4: oh my god, I did even have on. But I
- 19:56Speaker 4: had the most RESTful scene in my life that.
- 19:58Speaker 5: If you believe you can at leave, you can cheer,
- 20:01Speaker 5: believe you can you cheat.
- 20:02Speaker 1: You trick yourself.
- 20:03Speaker 5: You've got to trick yourself like Gaslight, gay keep girl
- 20:05Speaker 5: Boss exactly.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Do it to yourself, not to others exactly.
- 20:09Speaker 5: And I think that that way right, we're creating an
- 20:12Speaker 5: action orientated mindset, like we are actively trying to work
- 20:15Speaker 5: towards this like a manifestation. When we start talking about
- 20:20Speaker 5: these genuine psychological phenomenons and we are starting to talk about,
- 20:25Speaker 5: you know, the science behind the placebo effect and all
- 20:27Speaker 5: of that.
- 20:27Speaker 1: You go, well, manifestation, that's a bit of fluff.
- 20:30Speaker 5: I'm a research girlie, Like, I am not the type
- 20:32Speaker 5: of girl that is going to be like, oh yes,
- 20:34Speaker 5: I'm going to skip down the road and I have
- 20:36Speaker 5: my green smoothie and manifest my dream life. Like, sorry,
- 20:40Speaker 5: that's not for me, and that is so fine if
- 20:42Speaker 5: it is for you. One of my best friends does
- 20:44Speaker 5: that and I love it for her and she's like,
- 20:46Speaker 5: you're gonna think it's bullshit, but yeah, I am, but
- 20:49Speaker 5: also love you love that this works for you exactly.
- 20:52Speaker 1: And I think that that way.
- 20:53Speaker 5: It's about making decisions in line with our goals and
- 20:57Speaker 5: giving ourselves credit for that, not being like, yeah, I
- 21:00Speaker 5: really manifested that. Wait, no, girl, you created a plan.
- 21:03Speaker 5: You didn't just think it into fruition. You worked hard
- 21:06Speaker 5: for that to come to fruition. And I guess when
- 21:09Speaker 5: we quote manifest we can use affirmations like I am
- 21:12Speaker 5: a rich man, I am financially successful, and I'm not
- 21:17Speaker 5: being facetious. That's you psychologically reiterating to yourself a narrative
- 21:22Speaker 5: that you want to become true. And if you write
- 21:25Speaker 5: it down, if you speak it, if you consistently prioritize it,
- 21:28Speaker 5: that will become your truth. Yes, that will become your
- 21:31Speaker 5: reality because that is your focus.
- 21:33Speaker 4: Someone said, someone offers you a cigarette at a party.
- 21:36Speaker 4: This is very maybe not relevant to everybody.
- 21:39Speaker 1: A cigaretteed aparty exactly.
- 21:41Speaker 4: And there's definitely difference between girl, you're cool, you always
- 21:45Speaker 4: say yes, es man, And if you say I'm not
- 21:49Speaker 4: a smoker versus I'm trying not to smoke, then that changes.
- 21:54Speaker 5: It changes something because that's actually not in line with
- 21:56Speaker 5: my values.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Yeah, like if you're like the other one's leaving the
- 21:58Speaker 4: door open. Yes, it's like I am a smoker, but
- 22:01Speaker 4: I'm not. I'm trying not to right now, but I'm
- 22:03Speaker 4: not a smoker. It's kind of like the really is
- 22:05Speaker 4: power in words?
- 22:06Speaker 5: One hundred percent there is, And I'm going to flip
- 22:08Speaker 5: it back to finance, but this applies to your cigarette example. Yeah,
- 22:11Speaker 5: Like there are studies on financial growth mindset, and they
- 22:14Speaker 5: show us that people who believe that they can improve
- 22:17Speaker 5: their financial situation they take more proactive steps towards their wealth.
- 22:21Speaker 5: Because confidence makes us more likely to take financial risks.
- 22:25Speaker 5: It means we're maybe going to start a business, or
- 22:27Speaker 5: we might be happy to start investing, or we might
- 22:29Speaker 5: ask for a pay rise. But by doing this and
- 22:32Speaker 5: by believing that we can, like we are actually going
- 22:36Speaker 5: to achieve that. And that's why whenever people say I'm
- 22:39Speaker 5: not good at money, I'm like, you stop that right now, Like,
- 22:43Speaker 5: you stop because that is not a thing. Like, there's
- 22:45Speaker 5: no such thing as people who are bad with money.
- 22:47Speaker 5: Like there are people who currently are not managing money
- 22:50Speaker 5: in line with their values. There are people who are
- 22:52Speaker 5: currently managing money in a way that they aren't happy with.
- 22:56Speaker 1: We can change all of that. But bad at money, Like,
- 22:58Speaker 1: what's that even mean?
- 22:59Speaker 5: Yeah? Like bad at it? No, absolutely not. You're adding
- 23:03Speaker 5: an emotion to a tool. And right now, you know,
- 23:06Speaker 5: you might be in massive consumer debt and you're like,
- 23:08Speaker 5: v I am pretty bad at money. But yep, well,
- 23:10Speaker 5: actually the reality of that situation is all you did
- 23:13Speaker 5: was spend more than you earned.
- 23:15Speaker 1: We just had an imbalance. Yeah, let's fix it.
- 23:17Speaker 5: And I think that by doing that, you're giving yourself
- 23:20Speaker 5: permission to not perpetuate this negative loop. Like I want
- 23:26Speaker 5: to break that, Like I don't want to hear anyone
- 23:28Speaker 5: saying they're bad at money.
- 23:29Speaker 1: You're listening to a money podcast. You can't be that
- 23:31Speaker 1: bad at it.
- 23:32Speaker 5: True, you're clearly open to having this conversation. Do you
- 23:35Speaker 5: know how many people until they're eighty bury their heads
- 23:38Speaker 5: in the sand about finance and it detriments every single
- 23:42Speaker 5: part of their life, Like they can't afford the cigarettes
- 23:44Speaker 5: at the party? Beck, God, how do you offer someone
- 23:46Speaker 5: a cigarette at a party if you can't afford to
- 23:49Speaker 5: buy the debt for them?
- 23:50Speaker 4: We're like one thousand dollars now.
- 23:52Speaker 5: Oh my god, Like I'm kind of glad because they
- 23:54Speaker 5: don't want you guys literally getting cancer, Like yeah, you
- 23:57Speaker 5: know how I feel about that?
- 23:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and that's fine.
- 24:00Speaker 5: But like, also you do you thank I'm all about
- 24:04Speaker 5: giving you the education, yep. You being able to weigh
- 24:07Speaker 5: up the pros cons make your decision that's in line
- 24:09Speaker 5: with your values. Like how bad would it be if
- 24:11Speaker 5: you didn't know that information existed? Like I feel like
- 24:13Speaker 5: this is going back to like where my grandpa, sorry pop,
- 24:16Speaker 5: he's not around anymore. He was like smoking from when
- 24:19Speaker 5: he was fourteen.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, and.
- 24:21Speaker 5: Like that was really positive for him, Like he would
- 24:23Speaker 5: smoke at school, like he would do all of that
- 24:26Speaker 5: and that was really normal, and then he did quit.
- 24:29Speaker 5: But according to him, wasn't that bad because he never
- 24:33Speaker 5: got cancer from it. Huh So according to him, it
- 24:36Speaker 5: was absolutely fine. But growing up he didn't have any
- 24:39Speaker 5: of the education and the privilege of knowledge that we
- 24:41Speaker 5: have to make decisions in line with our values in
- 24:43Speaker 5: the same way that we do today.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Same goes with money.
- 24:47Speaker 5: Like if he wasn't able to access financial information, or
- 24:50Speaker 5: anyone was then able to access financial information right now,
- 24:54Speaker 5: you could google it.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I have seven hundred free episodes to help you be
- 24:57Speaker 1: really good with money. God, she's good.
- 24:59Speaker 4: You're doing God work.
- 25:00Speaker 1: I'm trying. I'm trying, but you're not bad with money. Okay.
- 25:04Speaker 1: End of stories.
- 25:05Speaker 4: We have to stop saying that right now. So manifestation
- 25:08Speaker 4: kind of works, but not because the universe is.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Rarding your good vibes.
- 25:13Speaker 4: Yeah, but just because your brain starts working a way
- 25:16Speaker 4: that makes financial success more.
- 25:18Speaker 5: Likely one hundred percent. And I think that that is
- 25:21Speaker 5: really sexy. But it is a choice. It's not some
- 25:25Speaker 5: fluffy thing where you're letting it, you know, be up
- 25:27Speaker 5: to the universe. As I said before, my mom and
- 25:30Speaker 5: I used to say, oh my gosh, ask the universe
- 25:32Speaker 5: do you know what I do still like, don't get
- 25:34Speaker 5: me wrong, I do fluffy things. I know they're not real, though,
- 25:37Speaker 5: Like maybe I need to buy more into it because
- 25:39Speaker 5: like the placebo effect would have a higher value. I
- 25:42Speaker 5: still believe in parking karma, Beck, Like if you let
- 25:46Speaker 5: people merge in front of you, like that's like getting
- 25:48Speaker 5: some points that go towards you being allowed to like
- 25:50Speaker 5: get a really.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Good spot at the supermarket. Yeah, okay.
- 25:53Speaker 5: And like if we turn into a car park, anyone
- 25:56Speaker 5: who's ever been in the car with me.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I go, I beg. We're gonna have parking karma today,
- 26:00Speaker 1: aren't we? And you have to say yeah? And if
- 26:03Speaker 1: you say no, I'll be Beck. You're ruining it. You're
- 26:05Speaker 1: ruining the vibes. We need positive vibes, Like I.
- 26:07Speaker 5: Need you to also be on this train, Like we
- 26:10Speaker 5: both deeply believe we are going to get a good park.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, never not had a good park.
- 26:14Speaker 4: Wow, I'm going to try that.
- 26:16Speaker 5: We always believe if you tell yourself something, you're more
- 26:19Speaker 5: likely to spot it. Obviously parking is really fluffy, but
- 26:22Speaker 5: I think it's so important. Also give ourselves credit because
- 26:26Speaker 5: I can say I manifested a car park.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Well, you didn't.
- 26:29Speaker 5: Manifest a pay rise. You worked hard for that pay rise.
- 26:32Speaker 5: You put time and energy and effort into researching it.
- 26:35Speaker 5: You improved your confidence, so walking in the door wasn't
- 26:38Speaker 5: overwhelming like you did that. Let's just leave manifestation for
- 26:42Speaker 5: car parks and then we work really hard for positive
- 26:46Speaker 5: things that happen in our lives.
- 26:47Speaker 4: Yes, we made a plan, manifestation hard work. Well, I
- 26:51Speaker 4: think let's go to a really quick break and absorble
- 26:54Speaker 4: as information. Welcome back everyone. Okay, so v weinging straight
- 27:03Speaker 4: back into it manifestation law of attraction?
- 27:06Speaker 1: Is there a.
- 27:06Speaker 4: Downside I could ever backfire?
- 27:08Speaker 5: I'm assuming, Like gosh, I had to do some research
- 27:10Speaker 5: because I'm like, I don't see how much could backfire
- 27:13Speaker 5: if we are creating a plan and working towards it.
- 27:15Speaker 5: But there's actually a study from the University of Queensland
- 27:18Speaker 5: that found people who strongly believe in manifesting wealth were
- 27:22Speaker 5: more likely to take financial risks full for get rich
- 27:25Speaker 5: quick schemes, join multi level marketing compan maybe go bankrupt.
- 27:31Speaker 5: So that's not that positive, Beck, But I think that
- 27:36Speaker 5: that is a reflection of your trust, and we need
- 27:40Speaker 5: to guard our trust very tightly. Like I was actually
- 27:45Speaker 5: watching a TikTok the other day and someone said, like,
- 27:49Speaker 5: those who trust easier, or like you know, are super
- 27:54Speaker 5: kind and super easy to get along with to begin with,
- 27:57Speaker 5: are actually easier to manipulate. And tho the people that
- 28:00Speaker 5: are going to get taken advantage the most because you
- 28:03Speaker 5: just immediately trust other people.
- 28:05Speaker 1: And that's so fine. But that's why.
- 28:08Speaker 5: Often people will say, oh, the nice people always get
- 28:11Speaker 5: taken advantage of, Like, yes, because they genuinely believed that
- 28:15Speaker 5: you had the same intentions as they did, and those
- 28:17Speaker 5: intentions were really pure. Like I've heard so many times
- 28:20Speaker 5: people might say, oh, Via, I can't believe they took
- 28:23Speaker 5: advantage of me.
- 28:24Speaker 1: I just didn't see it coming.
- 28:25Speaker 5: It's like, that's awful that that happened, But that is
- 28:29Speaker 5: actually a reflection of them and not of you, because
- 28:32Speaker 5: you would never have done this, so you would just
- 28:34Speaker 5: assume everybody else wouldn't do this, so why would.
- 28:37Speaker 1: You think about it?
- 28:37Speaker 4: Exactly? The tension always falls on the person who has
- 28:40Speaker 4: taken advantage of, and never like, oh, isn't it weird
- 28:43Speaker 4: that really awful people take advantage? They always say, oh,
- 28:46Speaker 4: isn't it weird that nice people always get take advantage
- 28:49Speaker 4: of let's put our attention on.
- 28:51Speaker 5: The So we need to protect ourselves as well and
- 28:53Speaker 5: make sure that our goals are in line with our values.
- 28:56Speaker 5: I think in the finance world, like I have met
- 29:00Speaker 5: so many people that have a sense of urgency. I
- 29:03Speaker 5: have a sense of urgency for you, Beck, and that
- 29:05Speaker 5: is for you to get your stuff together. It's not
- 29:07Speaker 5: to see a financial advisor, get a professional involved, pay
- 29:10Speaker 5: for something. If somebody is ever trying to get you
- 29:12Speaker 5: to part with your money on a time crunchy, I promise.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Don't have your best interests at heart.
- 29:18Speaker 5: They have thisir whether that is a sale email in
- 29:22Speaker 5: your inbox and that email is being like, oh my.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Gosh, twenty four hours to go, Like, you better get
- 29:26Speaker 1: in otherwise.
- 29:27Speaker 5: You might miss out. They don't care if you personally
- 29:30Speaker 5: missed out. They're trying to reach their sales targets. That
- 29:32Speaker 5: was always about them and never about you. That's very true,
- 29:35Speaker 5: and the same is true for finance products. The same
- 29:38Speaker 5: is true for multi level marketing companies. The same is
- 29:40Speaker 5: true for you know, going and taking additional financial risks
- 29:44Speaker 5: without weighing up the pros and cons, Like you need
- 29:47Speaker 5: to do your research as well, like, don't just trust
- 29:49Speaker 5: what somebody says. And that's one of the reasons why,
- 29:52Speaker 5: you know, I obviously have heaps of free resources on
- 29:55Speaker 5: my website, but I will always tell you go to
- 29:57Speaker 5: the money Smart website.
- 29:58Speaker 1: It's non viaus. I didn't write.
- 30:00Speaker 5: It's going to reiterate what I'm saying, and it's going
- 30:02Speaker 5: to put you in a good position, because I don't
- 30:04Speaker 5: want you to just trust me like I would love
- 30:07Speaker 5: for that, because I know I have your best interests
- 30:09Speaker 5: at heart, but I need you to go to market.
- 30:11Speaker 5: I need you see lots of other things and know
- 30:13Speaker 5: that what I'm saying is going to put you in
- 30:15Speaker 5: a better position because I want you to manifest that.
- 30:19Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, okay, So we know that manifestation can be helpful,
- 30:23Speaker 4: but only when it's backed by action. So how do
- 30:25Speaker 4: we actually use manifestation in a way that works?
- 30:28Speaker 1: All right?
- 30:28Speaker 5: So if we want to use manifestation and goal setting
- 30:31Speaker 5: to our advantage, I did a bit of research and
- 30:34Speaker 5: there is a science back technique called whoop whoop whoop.
- 30:39Speaker 1: I don't know, do you say whoop whoop? I don't know?
- 30:42Speaker 5: Oh yeah, but you can pick whatever you're more comfortable with.
- 30:46Speaker 5: But it's honestly from all of my research and what
- 30:48Speaker 5: I've been looking into, I was like, I'm going to
- 30:49Speaker 5: find a really good plan. Like I'm not about things
- 30:53Speaker 5: that aren't science backed, and it's so funny because I
- 30:56Speaker 5: sometimes like to engage in them because they're fun. So
- 30:58Speaker 5: you know, like the Mind's Breed typology indicator. Yes, yes, yes,
- 31:02Speaker 5: So we do that in our office and it's beautiful.
- 31:04Speaker 1: It's so fun.
- 31:05Speaker 5: Like I love doing the personality quiz. Like my team
- 31:09Speaker 5: and I we all have very similar personality, so we
- 31:11Speaker 5: will talking about that and we're like, oh my god,
- 31:13Speaker 5: we so similar haha. But like that is as legitimate
- 31:16Speaker 5: as astrology and your horoscope that's written in the weekly paper.
- 31:19Speaker 5: Like that has absolutely no scientific backing, but sometimes they're fun.
- 31:23Speaker 5: But I really wanted to find you a science back
- 31:26Speaker 5: technique to I guess implementing manifestation and implementing goal setting
- 31:32Speaker 5: in a way that hopefully makes sense but also puts
- 31:34Speaker 5: you in the best possible position to have literally your
- 31:37Speaker 5: best year yet. So if you want to turn manifestation
- 31:41Speaker 5: into genuine finance progress, we're going to whoop and whoop
- 31:46Speaker 5: stands for wish. What's your financial goal? What is your wish,
- 31:51Speaker 5: let's write that down outcome. Why does this goal matter?
- 31:55Speaker 5: Like what's the outcome? Like you want to be better
- 31:57Speaker 5: at money? But why if you don't know the answer
- 31:59Speaker 5: to that? But like, if you have a wish and
- 32:02Speaker 5: you don't have a reason why you want to achieve that,
- 32:05Speaker 5: going to fall off the bandwagon real quick? Obstacle what
- 32:09Speaker 5: challenges might actually stop you from achieving this?
- 32:12Speaker 1: And then plan? So how are you going to overcome
- 32:17Speaker 1: those challenges? So this was.
- 32:19Speaker 5: Developed by doctor Gabrielle or Tengi, a psychologist who actually
- 32:23Speaker 5: spent twenty years researching how people turn their dreams into action.
- 32:27Speaker 4: Wow, she did the hard work.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Why don't I come.
- 32:29Speaker 5: Why don't you have a big book that's like really popular,
- 32:31Speaker 5: Because that's a lot of time to spend on that,
- 32:33Speaker 5: and like so many of us want to turn our
- 32:35Speaker 5: dream into action. You've got twenty years of research. Y,
- 32:38Speaker 5: speak up, louder, I know. But what she found Beck
- 32:43Speaker 5: was just visualizing success is not enough, Like you can't
- 32:46Speaker 5: just say you manifest it and think about it all
- 32:48Speaker 5: the time. Sure, the people who actually achieve their goals
- 32:51Speaker 5: are consistently positive thinkers about most things, but they are
- 32:56Speaker 5: also strategic thinkers. So they are thinking about their plan,
- 33:00Speaker 5: they are thinking about what might get in the way,
- 33:02Speaker 5: they are thinking about how they're going to achieve this.
- 33:04Speaker 5: They're creating a little outline of what steps they need
- 33:07Speaker 5: to take. It's not just positive thoughts and vibes.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Will carry you absolutely.
- 33:12Speaker 4: And this is the thing is that, like, I feel
- 33:13Speaker 4: like there's definitely a difference between toxic positivity. And I
- 33:17Speaker 4: do tell my friends this when they're like, no good
- 33:19Speaker 4: vibes only, I'm like, no, this.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Way about to admit that they're a negative vibe.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Base for negativity is a space for sadness, space for
- 33:26Speaker 4: all the other emotions.
- 33:27Speaker 1: When it comes to yourself and.
- 33:28Speaker 4: Your own life, it actually matters what your internal monologue is.
- 33:32Speaker 4: And you're just being kind to yourself.
- 33:34Speaker 1: And I am.
- 33:35Speaker 4: Already feeling empowered or not even at the end of
- 33:36Speaker 4: this episode yet, but.
- 33:37Speaker 5: I do feel like it helps, right because I'm all
- 33:40Speaker 5: about positive thinking. I'm the same I hate toxic positivity. Like,
- 33:43Speaker 5: you're gonna have bad days at work, and I want
- 33:46Speaker 5: you to feel comfortable telling me about those bad day
- 33:49Speaker 5: want flow.
- 33:50Speaker 1: I want you to feel heard.
- 33:51Speaker 5: I want your emotions validated, because once they're validated, we
- 33:55Speaker 5: can move on from them because you Yeah, you're right,
- 33:58Speaker 5: that is exactly why I feel that way, and this
- 34:00Speaker 5: is how this works. And then oh, but I don't
- 34:02Speaker 5: want to focus on it. What I want to focus
- 34:04Speaker 5: on is X.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Y or Z.
- 34:06Speaker 5: Sure, So I think it's just so important to kind
- 34:09Speaker 5: of have the mix and have both. So I guess
- 34:11Speaker 5: to recap the WHOOP method is wish, outcome, obstacle, and plan,
- 34:16Speaker 5: and I think that by doing that we could quote
- 34:19Speaker 5: manifest way better.
- 34:21Speaker 4: Okay, I love this, Honestly, I'm quite hopeful. I genuinely
- 34:25Speaker 4: will try this. So V, what's takeaway from this all?
- 34:29Speaker 1: Does manifestation actually work?
- 34:31Speaker 2: Hmm?
- 34:31Speaker 5: I feel like I ruined it at the start of
- 34:33Speaker 5: the episode by saying it was bullshit, But that's okay.
- 34:36Speaker 5: It can work, but only if you are doing it
- 34:39Speaker 5: right with a whole heap of other things around it.
- 34:41Speaker 5: Like thinking rich is great, but that's not going to
- 34:44Speaker 5: make you rich, but thinking ahead is what's actually going
- 34:47Speaker 5: to build wealth and create the life that you deserve.
- 34:50Speaker 5: And the best way to manifest money ultimately is.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Let's set clear goals.
- 34:55Speaker 5: We need to believe in ourselves, we need to reframe
- 34:58Speaker 5: our thinking, and we are not shitty at money. We
- 35:01Speaker 5: are actually really good at money, and we are just
- 35:03Speaker 5: learning and we are at the start of our journey.
- 35:06Speaker 5: So I feel like being able to I guess change
- 35:10Speaker 5: your mindset is going to literally shift your money habits.
- 35:14Speaker 5: Ultimately that means more money in your bank account and
- 35:17Speaker 5: you will start creating real wealth.
- 35:19Speaker 4: I'm really looking forward to this. I hope that you know,
- 35:21Speaker 4: whoever's listening. If you're driving, don't do this. But if
- 35:24Speaker 4: you're not driving your SAT or you're standing, just start
- 35:27Speaker 4: writing this stuff down. Let's start with the whoop method.
- 35:30Speaker 4: Actually no, I'm going to start with the Honda Jazz Okay.
- 35:32Speaker 5: Yeah, we're gonna look for the Honda jazz Is and
- 35:34Speaker 5: then you're gonna be like damn vwers right. Probably should
- 35:36Speaker 5: listen to that episode again and start quote manifestly properly exit. Also,
- 35:41Speaker 5: can you DM me your pictures of the yellow Honda
- 35:43Speaker 5: Jazz because like, I need to get those and then
- 35:45Speaker 5: they fell off because I mentioned it so long ago,
- 35:48Speaker 5: But like, you see a Honda Jazz, I'm going to
- 35:50Speaker 5: need a picture of that to reiterate that my theory
- 35:52Speaker 5: is a legitimate theory.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Now it's some you know, hippie Dippy horoscope. All right, guys,
- 35:57Speaker 1: if you.
- 35:58Speaker 5: Have loved this episode as much Beck and I have
- 36:00Speaker 5: loved bringing it to you, make sure to share it
- 36:03Speaker 5: with a friend who's deep in the TikTok manifestation hole,
- 36:06Speaker 5: and don't forget to follow and subscribe so that you
- 36:08Speaker 5: don't miss an episode and we can keep bringing you
- 36:10Speaker 5: the content that you know and love.
