- 1:57Constance Lavonice: The new international version of 2 Timothy 1 7 says, For the Spirit of God does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.
- 2:15Constance Lavonice: The Spirit of God, which is the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.
- 2:26Constance Lavonice: And the first thing that He gives us is power.
- 2:32Constance Lavonice: The omnipotent, all-powerful Spirit of God that empowers us to do things beyond our natural abilities or beyond what we think is our natural ability, such as a sense of peace in the midst of chaos, calm in an anxiety-provoking situation, or just a sense of joy or gratitude, or even the ability to smile during a period of sorrow, mental, emotional, or physical pain, God gives us the power to endure, to make it through.
- 3:24Constance Lavonice: The second thing that He gives us is love.
- 3:29Constance Lavonice: God's love, an everlasting love.
- 3:34Constance Lavonice: His grace through faith is a gift of God.
- 3:40Constance Lavonice: It's not earned or deserved.
- 3:43Constance Lavonice: It's through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.
- 3:48Constance Lavonice: John 3, verse 16 says, God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
- 4:05Constance Lavonice: God gives us a confident love, an everlasting love.
- 4:12Constance Lavonice: And because he loves us, we can love ourselves and we can love other people.
- 4:20Constance Lavonice: And it goes back to first John chapter four, verse 18.
- 4:27Constance Lavonice: There is no fear in love, but perfect love cast out fear.
- 4:36Constance Lavonice: We cannot be fearful or timid when it comes to the love of God that we have inside of us.
- 4:48Constance Lavonice: And finally, God gives us self-discipline, the ability to control or manage our emotions and behaviors.
- 5:01Constance Lavonice: He gives us a sound mind that's not guided by our emotions, where we can think logically and rationally, connecting the dots, making the optimal use of our executive functioning when our nervous system is in balance and it's not shutting down our thinking brain, allowing us to consistently act in alignment with God's will and purpose for our lives.
- 5:39Constance Lavonice: Ephesians chapter 2, verse 10 says that for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
- 5:55Constance Lavonice: God has created us for good works that He has already ordained.
- 6:03Constance Lavonice: And when He has ordained us to do something, He will enable us to do it through His anointing.
- 6:13Constance Lavonice: So if you have a spirit of shyness or timidity that makes you hesitant or reluctant and it holds you back, neutralizing you, whether it's applying for a job promotion, giving a speech, starting that ministry or that new business you've been thinking about, stepping away from an environment that's keeping you contained, or just going on that trip that you keep delaying because you're afraid to fly.
- 6:49Constance Lavonice: Meditate on this verse and allow the knowledge of this verse to empower you to take the next step.
- 6:59Constance Lavonice: I believe for someone listening, now is the time to step forth and initiate what you sense God has been prompting you to do.
- 7:13Constance Lavonice: And if this message resonated with you, please subscribe and share with someone who needs encouragement to know that God does not give the spirit of fear or timidity.
