He's a friend and close associate with David Anthony

Burke frequently frequently appearing with him in social

media. Of course, he has come to

broader public attention after being identified as a grand jury

witness in the Los Angeles homicide investigation connected

to Celeste Revis Hernandez. He was arrested in Helena, Mt on

an out of state warrant after a failing to appear.

Now, before we get into more information about this, I wanted

to find out about the grand jury system in California.

We all every state has a little bit different system.

I thought that maybe we would get into it just a little bit

here just so we understand why it's so important that he, you

know, report to the grand jury. OK, so this I got from the LA

Courts website. The criminal grand jury is

selected by random from a cross section of the county's

population in the same way in which petite jury jurors, also

known as just the regular old jury pool, are selected.

The main responsibility of the criminal grand jury is to attend

hearings to weigh evidence brought by the District

Attorney's office in order to determine on the basis of this

evidence whether certain persons should be charged with a crime.

The criminal grand jury will consist of 23 members plus a

designated number of alternates. In Los Angeles County, the

The criminal grand jury is an accusatory body body and not a

trial jury. Therefore, the burden of proof

is much lower. Specifically, the criminal grand

individual committed the alleged crime.

They do not have to come to like full on beyond a reasonable

So the prosecution is saying all they have to say is like, yeah,

So in July of 2000, the Superior Court began empanelling an

additional criminal grand jury in addition to the civil grand

jury will be empanelled throughout the year according to

the district attorney's or attorney general's needs, and

she'll have exclusive jurisdiction to return criminal

indictments when empanelled. Such a criminal grand jury will

OK, what is the term? Under current policy, the

criminal grand jury is formed monthly and the term of service

should not exceed 30 days. However, you will not be

required to report each day. If you are selected for the

grand jury, you must be available for service during the

30 day period of the month to which you are summoned.

If the criminal grand jury is hearing an indictment on the

30th day, we'll continue meeting until the matter is resolved.

strip him of his rights under the Constitution enumerated in

the 5th Amendment right, but it does put him underoath.

This may be true of a witness who has refused to cooperate

with law enforcement investigators because he does

not want to get involved or because he is fearful of giving

information except under secret conditions of the criminal grand

jury hearing. A court reporter is present at

Further, some witnesses agreed to testify before a criminal

grand jury as a neutral and fair minded body of fellow citizens

out of jail in lieu of $60,000. Langston had repeatedly balked

at testifying before a grand jury in LA, according to sources

not authorized to discuss ongoing criminal proceedings.

Who could those sources be? Perhaps somebody in the district

attorney's office, maybe. It is unclear if Langston

testified or agreed to testify after being jailed.

And I think the only time that they're not is in the situation

that I described before. In November, the Los Angeles

County District Attorney's Office began presenting evidence

to what's known as an investigative grand grand jury,

according to one of the sources, who spoke on the condition of

anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case

with the media. Since then, numerous other

witnesses have been seen entering the grand jury room to

testify in the ongoing investigation into Celeste's

death. Among those is one of the

managers of David, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, and

Medical Examiner from divulging autopsy results and other

details related to the girl's death that would otherwise be

characterized the probe into the girl's death as an investigation

detectives spent months investigating the circumstances

surrounding the girl's death as well as her relationship with

I don't feel like this case is a terribly difficult one to bring

charges on, at least charges of like desecration of human

remains or disposing of human remains improperly.

His Tesla sat abandoned on a street in the Hollywood Hills

removal. A tow yard worker noticed a foul

smell coming from the Tesla and alerted the LAPD.

That makes me feel like the tow company, they knew what that was

like, like they'd had this experience before.

Makes me wonder. Inside the trunk, police found a

black bag containing Celeste's remains.

And of course, this goes without saying, but putting her remains

into a black bag and then stuffing that into the trunk of

a car feels like consciousness of guilt, doesn't it?

Like we've got to hide this. I, I remember being on a, being

on a local case, being on a local case that I mean, I was

assigned by my work in my capacity as a reporter from a

day job to, to report on a trial in our area where a woman was

poisoned to death by her domestic partner.

And he put her body into a metal 55 gallon drum.

And he said it's because he didn't want the kids to find her

body. But the prosecution, at least to

my memory, use that as consciousness of guilt.

He knew what was wrong. He was trying to hide what was

what was obviously wrong, the murder of his domestic partner.

So in this case, with Celeste putting her body in a black bag,

putting it in the trunk of a car, that screams consciousness

of guilt to me. Screams it before the ceiling of

medical examiner's records. The office revealed she weighed

71 lbs and had SHHH tattooed on her finger.

Authorities uncovered her body the day after her 15th birthday.

LAPD Captain Scott Williams, who leads the robbery Homicide

Division, said the girl had been dead for at least several weeks.

Williams said the body had not been decapitated or frozen, as
