  Constance Lavonice: I recently started a project, and it's not going the way I envisioned it at the moment, and I was starting to go down a path of disappointment and moving toward discouragement.

  Constance Lavonice: And in the midst, the Lord reminded me of this scripture.

  Constance Lavonice: David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

  Constance Lavonice: At the time, David was running from King Saul, who was seeking to kill him.

  Constance Lavonice: And David had a, it was a large amount of men who were following him.
• 1:31
  Constance Lavonice: And David was actually getting ready to fight to join the Philistines in fighting against the Israelites.

  Constance Lavonice: But when they got back, actually they were not allowed to fight with the Philistines.

  Constance Lavonice: They didn't trust him because they knew that he had been loyal to King Saul.

  Constance Lavonice: And so they told David and his men to leave.

  Constance Lavonice: And when David and the men returned to where they were living, they found that it had been burned and the women, their wives and children, had been taken and captured.

  Constance Lavonice: And the men started to think about stoning David.

  Constance Lavonice: And the scripture says, but David strengthened himself or encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

  Constance Lavonice: So I took a break, and after I read over that scripture, I asked God to speak to my heart.

  Constance Lavonice: And he encouraged me with several scriptures.

  Constance Lavonice: And that is what I want to pass on to you so that God can speak to your heart as well.

  Constance Lavonice: When you're in that place when you're feeling disappointed or discouraged, give yourself a moment, get outside of the negative thinking, remind yourself of God's presence, and allow God to speak to your heart and give you a new perspective, just like David, when David encouraged himself in the Lord.

  Constance Lavonice: The second scripture that was placed on my heart was Zechariah chapter four, verse ten.

  Constance Lavonice: And it says, Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.

  Constance Lavonice: You have begun the work.

  Constance Lavonice: God is pleased.
• 3:57
  Constance Lavonice: Everyone has to start somewhere, and if God place the idea in your mind, He will bring it to fruition.

  Constance Lavonice: And what may seem to be a failure to you is only an aspect of God's perfect timing.

  Constance Lavonice: In fact, God chooses things the world considers foolish, insignificant, it doesn't make sense in order to confound those who think they are wise.

  Constance Lavonice: You can find that in First Corinthians chapter one, verses twenty seven through twenty nine.

  Constance Lavonice: God's ways are far above anything we can think or imagine.

  Constance Lavonice: Furthermore, there's a season and time for every matter under heaven.

  Constance Lavonice: Ecclesiastes chapter three verse one.

  Constance Lavonice: And Jesus says in Luke chapter sixteen verse ten, the one who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much.

  Constance Lavonice: So continue to be a good steward.

  Constance Lavonice: Stay on the course, don't give up.

  Constance Lavonice: Remember Psalm 32, verse 8, and I've talked about that previously.

  Constance Lavonice: God will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go.

  Constance Lavonice: He will counsel you with his eye upon you.

  Constance Lavonice: So be encouraged, don't compare yourself to others, enjoy the process, step by step.
