- 0:08Speaker 1: get started on She's on the Money podcast, I would
- 0:11Speaker 1: like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land of
- 0:14Speaker 1: which this podcast is recorded on a wondery country, acknowledging
- 0:18Speaker 1: the elders, the ancestors and the next generation coming through
- 0:23Speaker 1: as this podcast is about connecting, empowering, knowledge sharing and
- 0:27Speaker 1: the storytelling of you to make a difference for today
- 0:31Speaker 1: and lasting impactful tomorrow. Let's get into it.
- 0:34Speaker 2: She's on the Money, She's on the Money.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Hello, and welcome to She's on the Money podcast that
- 1:00Speaker 3: is here to give your wallet a glow up and
- 1:02Speaker 3: your mindset a complete makeover. Ever noticed how some people
- 1:06Speaker 3: just seem to have a knack for building wealth while
- 1:09Speaker 3: others stay stuck in exactly the same spot. Sure, a
- 1:13Speaker 3: very high paying job and a little bit of luck
- 1:15Speaker 3: do play a role, but the real game changer isn't
- 1:18Speaker 3: actually about what you earn. It's about your mindset, your
- 1:20Speaker 3: actions and the habits that you're able to create. My friends,
- 1:24Speaker 3: my name is Victoria Devine. I am the one with
- 1:27Speaker 3: the spucky pompoms cheering you on on your journey to
- 1:30Speaker 3: financial freedom. I recently asked you our community what you'd
- 1:34Speaker 3: like to hear in these solo Saturday episodes, and Krly,
- 1:37Speaker 3: one of our community members suggested diving into the habits
- 1:40Speaker 3: and the mindsets of high net worth people. I loved
- 1:43Speaker 3: this so much and started ariting a list of habits
- 1:45Speaker 3: that led to my own success. So today is all
- 1:48Speaker 3: about everyday actions and mindsets that set successful individuals apart.
- 1:53Speaker 3: The first one is backed by psychology, surprise, and it's
- 1:56Speaker 3: something that successful people actively practice and that's backing their
- 2:00Speaker 3: limiting beliefs. These are the sneaky thoughts that tell you
- 2:03Speaker 3: what you can't do or why you're not good enough
- 2:06Speaker 3: to handle your finances. Maybe you've thought, I'm just not
- 2:09Speaker 3: very good with money or investing. It's just too risky
- 2:12Speaker 3: for me. These aren't facts. These are just thoughts that
- 2:15Speaker 3: have taken root. Studies show that our beliefs significantly impact
- 2:20Speaker 3: our financial behaviors. Research published in the Journal of Behavioral
- 2:24Speaker 3: and Experimental Finance found that people with a growth mindset
- 2:28Speaker 3: who can improve their skills through effort and learning, are
- 2:31Speaker 3: significantly more likely to engage in positive financial actions like saving, investing,
- 2:37Speaker 3: and budgeting effectively. This mindset shift allows individuals to view
- 2:41Speaker 3: their financial situation as something that they can actively improve,
- 2:45Speaker 3: rather than a fixed outcome based on luck or circumstances.
- 2:49Speaker 3: With a growth mindset, you're more open to setting financial goals,
- 2:52Speaker 3: taking on some challenges, and seeking learning opportunities, which can
- 2:56Speaker 3: lead to building wealth. On the flip side of that,
- 3:00Speaker 3: people with a fixed mindset believe that their skills and
- 3:02Speaker 3: intelligence are set in stone and they can't be changed
- 3:05Speaker 3: no matter what they do. A mindset like this will
- 3:08Speaker 3: often lead you to see money management as something that
- 3:10Speaker 3: you're just not naturally good at, causing you to shy
- 3:13Speaker 3: away from taking control of your finances. This mindset can
- 3:17Speaker 3: lead to missed opportunities and a cycle of financial inaction.
- 3:21Speaker 3: The takeaway here shifting to a growth mindset can profoundly
- 3:26Speaker 3: impact your financial behaviors by turning self doubt into confidence
- 3:30Speaker 3: and action. To start, recognize that you're limiting beliefs they're
- 3:33Speaker 3: just thoughts, not truths. Each time you set yourself up
- 3:37Speaker 3: for small financial wins like negotiating a better deal on
- 3:40Speaker 3: your bills, paying down some debt, consistently or even investing
- 3:44Speaker 3: a small amount, you're reinforcing the belief that you can
- 3:47Speaker 3: achieve financial success. Each small step builds confidence and then
- 3:52Speaker 3: rewires your mindset, helping you see opportunities instead of obstacles.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Financial success isn't just about the numbers. It's about believing
- 4:00Speaker 3: that you personally are capable of getting there. One thing
- 4:04Speaker 3: that successful people know is that time is your most
- 4:07Speaker 3: valuable resource. You can make more money, but you can't
- 4:11Speaker 3: get back lost time. Managing your time well directly impacts
- 4:15Speaker 3: your success. Being an ADHD girly, I have a few
- 4:18Speaker 3: hacks up my sleeve, and one of my favorites is
- 4:21Speaker 3: the Pomodoro technique. If you haven't heard of the Pomodoro technique, no,
- 4:25Speaker 3: it's not a tomato. It is designed to boost productivity
- 4:28Speaker 3: and maintain focus by breaking work into manageable intervals. Typically,
- 4:33Speaker 3: what you do is you work for twenty five minutes
- 4:35Speaker 3: known as pomodoro, followed by a short five minute break.
- 4:38Speaker 3: After completing four pomodoros, you take a longer break of
- 4:42Speaker 3: fifteen to thirty minutes. This technique capitalizes on our brain's
- 4:46Speaker 3: natural attention span, making it easier to maintain high levels
- 4:49Speaker 3: of concentration without feeling overwhelmed or burnt out. By working
- 4:53Speaker 3: in these focused bursts, you can reduce the impact of distractions,
- 4:57Speaker 3: keep your mind sharp, and make conceal progress on tasks.
- 5:02Speaker 3: The Pomodoro technique not only helps you get more done
- 5:05Speaker 3: in less time, but also trains your brain to see
- 5:07Speaker 3: work as a series of really manageable tasks, turning what
- 5:11Speaker 3: might seem like a really daunting project into super actionable steps.
- 5:15Speaker 3: It's a simple, yet very powerful way to protect your
- 5:18Speaker 3: time and treat it like the valuable resource it is,
- 5:21Speaker 3: helping you stay aligned with your goals and then maximizing
- 5:24Speaker 3: your productivity. But managing time, my friend, Let's be honest,
- 5:28Speaker 3: it's just half the battle. Let's take a quick break,
- 5:30Speaker 3: and when we come back, I'll show you how to
- 5:32Speaker 3: guard your focus like a pro. Because nothing derails success
- 5:36Speaker 3: faster than distractions. Will be right back, and my friends,
- 5:44Speaker 3: we are back. Now that you know how to own
- 5:46Speaker 3: your time's time to talk focus, because distractions, they're everywhere,
- 5:51Speaker 3: and they're costing you much more than you think. According
- 5:55Speaker 3: to a study by the University of California, every single
- 5:58Speaker 3: time you get distracted, it takes it's an average of
- 6:00Speaker 3: twenty three minutes and fifteen seconds to regain focus on
- 6:04Speaker 3: your original task. That's a very valuable time loss to
- 6:07Speaker 3: unnecessary interruptions, time that you simply can't afford to waste
- 6:12Speaker 3: if you want to stay on track with your goals.
- 6:14Speaker 3: One of the biggest things that you can do to
- 6:16Speaker 3: keep yourself on track is by managing your notifications. Things
- 6:20Speaker 3: like your emails and your social media can be constant
- 6:23Speaker 3: distractions that pull you away from your priorities. I know
- 6:26Speaker 3: they do mine. By turning off non essential notifications, setting
- 6:30Speaker 3: specific times to check your emails, and creating really clear
- 6:33Speaker 3: boundaries around your work, you can protect your focus and
- 6:36Speaker 3: then maintain your productivity. Another way to protect your time
- 6:40Speaker 3: is to remember saying no to others is saying yes
- 6:43Speaker 3: to yourself. Successful people will know that every time you
- 6:47Speaker 3: say no to something that doesn't align with your goals,
- 6:49Speaker 3: you're prioritizing your own time and your own energy. It's
- 6:53Speaker 3: not about being selfish, it's about being strategic. So start
- 6:57Speaker 3: time blocking your calendar and protecting your focus. When you
- 7:01Speaker 3: protect your time, you're protecting your path to financial freedom.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Keeping on the topic of time, one very important thing
- 7:09Speaker 3: successful people know is that solely trading it for money
- 7:12Speaker 3: is a very sure fire way to limit your earning potential.
- 7:15Speaker 3: If you think the only way to make money is
- 7:17Speaker 3: by working more hours, you're cappying your potential. My friend,
- 7:21Speaker 3: time is finite, but your income it doesn't have to be.
- 7:25Speaker 3: That's why I am so wildly passionate about investing. It's
- 7:29Speaker 3: one of the best ways to make your money work
- 7:31Speaker 3: for you and create a future where your income isn't
- 7:34Speaker 3: limited by your time. Investing opens the doors to financial
- 7:37Speaker 3: freedom by allowing your assets to grow and generate returns
- 7:41Speaker 3: even when you're not actively working. Your money's making money
- 7:44Speaker 3: while you're sleeping. Your call to action here. Start exploring
- 7:48Speaker 3: ways to create income streams that aren't directly tied to
- 7:51Speaker 3: the hours that you put in. Consider investing in a
- 7:54Speaker 3: rental property, renting out items that you already own, or
- 7:57Speaker 3: creating a digital product that can sell on autopilot. If
- 8:01Speaker 3: you're offering one on one services, think about scaling up
- 8:05Speaker 3: to a group coaching program to maximize your impact without
- 8:08Speaker 3: multiplying your hours. The goal is to focus on opportunities
- 8:12Speaker 3: that grow independently, giving you more freedom and more financial security.
- 8:17Speaker 3: It's all about working smarter, not harder, and building a
- 8:20Speaker 3: financial future where your income isn't capped by the hours
- 8:24Speaker 3: that you have in a day. And finally, there is
- 8:27Speaker 3: that famous saying, you are the average of the five
- 8:30Speaker 3: people that you spend the most time with. For me,
- 8:32Speaker 3: I found that this isn't just a saying, it's actually
- 8:35Speaker 3: a very powerful truth. The people around you influence your mindset,
- 8:39Speaker 3: your habits, and ultimately your success. If you're surrounded by
- 8:43Speaker 3: people who settle for less or complain without taking action,
- 8:47Speaker 3: it's really easy to get stuck. But if you're around
- 8:50Speaker 3: go getters, their ambition and drive is going to rub
- 8:53Speaker 3: off on you. When you're around people already living a
- 8:56Speaker 3: life you'll aspire to, it normalizes those goals. Suddenly, what
- 9:00Speaker 3: seemed out of reach feels possible, even inevitable. So get
- 9:04Speaker 3: in the right rooms, join the right communities, and learn
- 9:07Speaker 3: from those who inspire you. By joining our Shees on
- 9:10Speaker 3: the Money community, you're already taking a very powerful step

- 9:26Speaker 3: goal when creating this community, to build a space where
- 9:29Speaker 3: your financial journey is championed, not judged. A place where
- 9:34Speaker 3: like minded individuals lift each other up, share their wins,
- 9:37Speaker 3: and push one another to keep reaching higher. If you

- 9:48Speaker 3: financial goals, and let's keep the momentum going together. So,
- 9:52Speaker 3: as I wrap up today's episode, remember that building wealth
- 9:55Speaker 3: isn't just about numbers, luck or having a really high
- 9:58Speaker 3: paying job. It's about the mindset that you're able to cultivate,
- 10:02Speaker 3: the habits that you commit to and the people you
- 10:05Speaker 3: surround yourself with. You, my friends, have the power to
- 10:08Speaker 3: shift your beliefs. You're able to protect your time and
- 10:11Speaker 3: set yourself up for success by making intentional choices that
- 10:15Speaker 3: align with your goals. Thank you for joining me today.
