- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:13issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:14Hypnotherapist, Demanded by celebrities CE OS and even
- 0:18royalty Adam Cox, These recordings took place live from
- 0:22Evans Clinic in London's world famous Harley Street.
- 0:29So get yourself comfortable and enjoy today's episode of The
- 0:33Hypnotist. Hi, it's Adam here and you're
- 0:41about to listen to a hypnosis session designed.
- 0:44To give. A new connotation to smoking
- 0:48cigarettes. And.
- 0:50This would also apply to. Smoking other things.
- 0:52Like weed or something like that, but effectively the client
- 0:55that I was working with was a smoker and.
- 0:59In their teenage. Years, their 20s, it was
- 1:03something that they would do to connect with other people
- 1:07socially, smoke. It would be a treat, a reward
- 1:10for them. So they had all of these
- 1:12narratives, all of these belief systems, and they'd quit for a
- 1:15few days, but a little voice popped up in their head that
- 1:18says, come on, you deserve this. You know, it's a treat.
- 1:22And that tells me that there is still a positive connotation and
- 1:27that smoking has the meaning, not the reality, but the meaning
- 1:31that it's desirable. So this hypnosis session does 2
- 1:34key things. One, it reframes it from
- 1:37something as a desirable treat to an undesirable punishment,
- 1:43and at the same time gives them an alternative.
- 1:46And that alternative is things that would actually be still
- 1:50ritualistic, still represent a bookend of the day, still be do,
- 1:56be something and do something that would be.
- 1:59Considered a treat. But actually enhance the quality
- 2:01of their life and. Give them good.
- 2:02Feelings not related to nicotine so if you.
- 2:07Feel right now that. Smoking is desirable and yet you
- 2:11do want to quit. You might find this a useful
- 2:14session, albeit. A disgusting one it.
- 2:17Does have lots of references to some of the health and aesthetic
- 2:21consequences of smoking, and that's designed to do the
- 2:25opposite of what most smokers do.
- 2:27Most smokers disassociate from consequences and associate into
- 2:31the. Feeling it gives them.
- 2:32What this is designed to do is to associate into the feeling of
- 2:35disgust. Or it being.
- 2:37Something repulsive and to associate into.
- 2:42That feeling of. Let's say it being an
- 2:46undesirable and all of the health consequences and physical
- 2:51consequences of that. So it associates into the
- 2:53consequences and disassociates into these old narratives that a
- 2:58lot of smokers carry around, like it's pleasurable as a
- 3:02treat, those kind of things. So if you are a smoker and you
- 3:06feel like you want to change how you feel before you quit
- 3:09smoking, this might be a good. Session equally.
- 3:11Some of the references like the cacao ceremony, very tailored to
- 3:16the individual client that I was working with.
- 3:17That might not be relevant for you.
- 3:19There might be other rituals. So if you do like the idea of
- 3:22working with me directly, there will be a.
- 3:24Link in the. Description in the.
- 3:26Show notes where you can book a completely.
- 3:28Free consultation call and we. Can have a chat.
- 3:30Because it might be that. I'm the right?
- 3:32Hypnotherapist for you for now though.
- 3:34Find a quiet. Comfortable place where you
- 3:36won't be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:06Take a deep breath in and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 4:16slow, long, relaxing breath. And as you exhale, just allow
- 4:25any tension in your eyelids to release and as you breathe out,
- 4:31that's it. Feel your eyes closing,
- 4:35breathing in resourceful relaxation, and as you exhale,
- 4:45feel a release not just of tension, but also old ideas that
- 4:55aren't true anymore. As you breathe in, breathe in
- 5:01new ideas. And as you breathe out, breathe
- 5:06out old ideas. And I want you to link these
- 5:11ideas to smoking, and perhaps you can breathe in the idea then
- 5:21smoking is like a slow acting poison and breathe out the idea
- 5:29that smoking is a treat. You can breathe in the idea that
- 5:38smoking makes you smell, or that's killing off cells.
- 5:50And maybe. Breathe out the idea that it's
- 5:53rebellious or cool and you know the narratives, you know the
- 5:59stories. Just imagine breathing out those
- 6:04old stories and breathing in the new ones.
- 6:13Like how you don't need it, you don't want it.
- 6:20And you know that's true. Because if you were forced in a
- 6:29prison cell to smoke a hundred a day, you know it would be a
- 6:38matter of months before you'd struggle to breathe.
- 6:46There'd be black tar in your nostrils.
- 6:53There'd be yellow stains on your fingers, your skin would change
- 7:01colour, and I don't know exactly how many months it would be
- 7:07until you first start coughing up blood, but your unconscious
- 7:12has an idea, some people believe.
- 7:21That truth? Is what sets them free.
- 7:28And I want you to think that there is this whole industry
- 7:32built on associations and connotations and narratives that
- 7:36aren't true. But what is true is what you
- 7:46know to be true. And I want you to imagine seeing
- 7:52yourself like on a big cinema screen, having worked hard all
- 7:59day. And I want you to see that
- 8:03version of you smoking at the end of the day, like a bookend,
- 8:14like a transition from. Work mode.
- 8:17To a different state of mind. But let's imagine, just for the
- 8:25sake of this thought experiment, that one cigarette has the
- 8:32impact of 1000, so that the slow acting nature of this is
- 8:42revealed. And I want you to imagine
- 8:46yourself in one cigarette having 1000.
- 8:53And I want you to see those yellow stains on your fingers.
- 9:01I want you to imagine how pungent that breath would be.
- 9:06I want you to think about how much tar that sticky black
- 9:20residue would be in your lungs if you had 1000.
- 9:28And then I want you to see that loose, wrinkly skin, see your
- 9:36complexion going from healthy and vibrant to grey and dull,
- 9:44see yourself aging faster, see your eyes getting red as your
- 9:53eyes aren't getting enough oxygen.
- 10:00And as the observer, I want you to try as hard as you can to
- 10:07make what you're watching seem like it would be a desirable
- 10:10treat. Think of the grey skin and try
- 10:17and convince yourself that you deserve it.
- 10:22See that yellowness in the fingers.
- 10:29Think, oh what a treat. And then see yourself and just
- 10:37imagine that it's been years of this with a gravely voice.
- 10:48The smokers cough, the smokers laugh.
- 10:53You know the one. And then see yourself and one of
- 10:58those smokers coughs, coughing up combination of phlegm and
- 11:06blood, and you don't know if it's just a blood vessel that
- 11:17was ruptured because it's not getting the health it needs or
- 11:22the early signs of a tumour. And I want you to try as hard as
- 11:29you can. To come to the conclusion that
- 11:42this is a treat, this is something that you would want to
- 11:48deserve. And what if what's really
- 11:57happened is you've been hypnotized since you were very
- 12:03young to believe something expensive, addictive, toxic,
- 12:12filled with carcinogens is somehow pleasurable?
- 12:16And what if this hypnosis isn't to convince you that smoking is
- 12:25dangerous or disgusting, but to just.
- 12:29Take away the previous. Hypnosis that told you it was
- 12:34cool, rebellious, desirable or enjoyable.
- 12:41What if the wool was pulled over your eyes all this time and now
- 12:47you get to see it for what it really is?
- 12:55I want you to get a sense that who benefits people believing
- 13:02that this thing that's just a weed growing in the ground,
- 13:10cheap yet addictive. It benefits by convincing people
- 13:17that it's pleasurable and desirable, enjoyable and a
- 13:23treat. I want you to get a sense.
- 13:28Then the more you think, the more sinister it becomes.
- 13:37I want you to get a feeling that a light is being switched on.
- 13:46And then I want you to imagine stepping into that version of
- 13:49you. So rather than seeing yourself
- 13:52trying to enjoy that treat, you feel that it's the end of the
- 13:57day. But just as you bring the
- 14:01cigarette up to your mouth, feel the tightness in your chest,
- 14:10imagine running your fingers through your hair and feeling
- 14:13how brittle it is, or touching your skin and feeling how
- 14:18lifeless or dull or wrinkly it feels.
- 14:24And then imagine, just as you're about to bring it up to your
- 14:28lips, you cough up even more blood, one of those scratchy,
- 14:35gravely, harsh coughs. And just imagine coughing up
- 14:42blood into your hand and try as hard as you can to feel like
- 14:49this is a treat. I want you to imagine going back
- 14:58into that cinema, seeing that version of you with a look of
- 15:03resolve. But that treat only works if you
- 15:12believe The thing is desirable. But if you believe The thing is
- 15:20undesirable, then it would feel like punishment rather than a
- 15:27treat. And I want you to imagine
- 15:33rewinding that version of you. Because if there was a part of
- 15:38you that felt that smoking was a way to reminisce and feel
- 15:43nostalgic, I want you to see a version of you on that screen
- 15:51looking at old photos, reading old messages or notes.
- 16:00And I want you to see that that version there is able to
- 16:05reminisce and get nostalgic much more effectively than a
- 16:10cigarette ever could. If your unconscious now
- 16:17believes, then smoking is not a treat, it's the illusion of a
- 16:25treat. And if your unconscious mind
- 16:31believes, then old photos and old items would be a much better
- 16:37way to reminisce. If you truly desire it, just let
- 16:41me know by nodding your head. That's it.
- 16:44And then rewind again. And I want you to imagine seeing
- 16:53a different version of you, an enlightened version of you, with
- 17:00a different way to separate work mode from relaxation mode, with
- 17:12a different way to bookend the day.
- 17:16I want you to see that version of you after a hard day, looking
- 17:20forward to preparing a ritual, a ceremony of Kakao prepared in a
- 17:28particular way. Like a ceremony, not just
- 17:36consuming that superfood of raw cacao, but an act of self love,
- 17:48of self kindness. A real.
- 17:52Treat as that version of you is able to access new levels of
- 18:03gratitude. That version of you is able to
- 18:10still reminisce whenever they choose to.
- 18:14That version of you can just let go of the past whenever it comes
- 18:20up. That version of you can set
- 18:23powerful intentions that ripple through space and time and
- 18:28change your future. That version of you is treating
- 18:35yourself with self love rather than self destruction.
- 18:44But that doesn't have to be an everyday thing.
- 18:49Some days might treat yourself to a different ritual of
- 18:56self-care. Or maybe a particular warm drink
- 19:04that just helps you relax. Or maybe instead of a whole
- 19:13ceremony, just some high quality high coca salad chocolate that
- 19:24still activates all of the neural pathways that a cacao
- 19:27ceremony would without needing the ceremony.
- 19:36And all of these are actual treats.
- 19:42I want you to get a feeling that a treat is something that
- 19:48enriches and enhances your life. If someone said it would be a
- 19:55treat to experience. Something painful?
- 20:05You may disagree. I want you to get a feeling then
- 20:11it is the meaning you give these things that determine whether or
- 20:16not they are pleasurable and a treat.
- 20:23Because one person's treat is another person's punishment.
- 20:30I want you to wonder that if someone had secretly, covertly
- 20:43and subtly been poisoning you with all of the health
- 20:48consequences that smoking can give, and after 10 or 20 years
- 20:54of them doing that, you discovered what they were doing.
- 21:03That they were maliciously aiming to make you age more
- 21:10rapidly, get sick more often, to impact your body's health and
- 21:18vitality. Imagine they were doing that for
- 21:2120 years. If that's worthy of a prize,
- 21:27then what they're doing is a treat, and if that's worthy of
- 21:31the punishment, then what they're doing is a crime.
- 21:40And I want you to feel that you are re evaluating what smoking
- 21:43means to you and with. That new connotation.
- 21:48I want you to imagine what it would be like to try your
- 21:53hardest to imagine it being a pleasurable treat with this new
- 21:58connotation, this new meaning. And the more you try and imagine
- 22:07doing it, I want you to make it more disgusting, thinking of
- 22:13that blood, that tar, that phlegm, and that aging.
- 22:20Just imagine being outside where you normally are and feeling
- 22:25that repulsion like it's a punishment.
- 22:32Feel that disgust. Imagine the blood or a small
- 22:37tumor. Imagine the black tar, the foul
- 22:43breath, the yellow fingers, and try and imagine enjoying it with
- 22:50all of those thoughts in mind. Imagine the possibility of
- 22:59having a lung removed, having a tube opened up there in your
- 23:09throat, and try and perceive it as a treat.
- 23:18And if your subconscious mind, that part, that voice that feels
- 23:25like you deserve a treat, isn't that willing to accept that this
- 23:29is not a treat at all, just the illusion of one?
- 23:33Let me know by nodding your head.
- 23:36And I want you to think of what's a real treat.
- 23:41Something valuable, enjoyable, something that enhances your
- 23:49experiences. That's what you really deserve.
- 23:58And as you allow these thoughts to take root in your mind, I
- 24:02want you to imagine what it would be like tomorrow, and I
- 24:08want you to see that future version of you.
- 24:14Set the intention now and imagine what it would be like.
- 24:21And if this feels that your future is now moving in a new
- 24:24direction and it's because new neural pathways have been
- 24:29created and an old neural pathway has been given a new
- 24:36meaning. And with that in mind, it's time
- 24:42to leave this place, this future, this cinema, this
- 24:50experience, and start drifting back to the here and now with
- 24:56all these new ideas and changes. So take a deep breath in through
- 25:01your nose and out through your nose.
- 25:07Just wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 25:10Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count
- 25:15from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 25:21Starting to count 123 waking up 456 more alert 7-8.
- 25:30Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910.
- 25:34Wide awake, wide awake, and wide awake.
