- 0:19Speaker 2: authentic version of yourself.
- 0:20Speaker 1: We help you shed the shame, grow to new level.
- 0:23Speaker 1: We're gonna laugh and cry and talk about the topics
- 0:25Speaker 1: everyone else is too afraid to talk about.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Get ready for your next level of self.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Hello everybody, Welcome back to she Rises. Another big week.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Everyone calls this time the silly season.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I call it the busy season.
- 0:38Speaker 2: It's so busy.
- 0:39Speaker 3: It's so busy.
- 0:40Speaker 1: But we're in December now, near the end of the year.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Hope you guys enjoyed Twelve Days of Christmas and all
- 0:44Speaker 1: the other episodes we've got coming up. I can't believe
- 0:46Speaker 1: we're nearly done with twenty twenty five.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I know, I can't believe how much has happened in
- 0:49Speaker 2: this year. It's gone so fast.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Wild, But we've got a big year next year. We
- 0:54Speaker 1: really do very exciting. Today's episode it's a little bit spicy,
- 0:57Speaker 1: a little bit sexual. We were talking about orgasms, how
- 1:00Speaker 1: amazing they are, how beneficial they are, and also what
- 1:02Speaker 1: can hold you back from having an orgasm and speriencing
- 1:05Speaker 1: that level of pleasure.
- 1:07Speaker 3: But before we do, watch your Share of the Week.
- 1:09Speaker 2: So My Share of the Week is actually a book. Now,
- 1:11Speaker 2: I've had lots of conversations with clients of mine, friends,
- 1:14Speaker 2: and this has been a game changer for me around communication. Yes,
- 1:18Speaker 2: so the book is called Nonviolent Communication by Marshall b Rosenberg.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Now this teaches you a really simple framework to help
- 1:27Speaker 2: you have hard conversations and to be able to communicate
- 1:30Speaker 2: in a way that kind of prevents conflict. So it's
- 1:33Speaker 2: a real powerhouse. This transformed for me personally how I communicate.
- 1:38Speaker 2: That's saying a lot considering I used to be a
- 1:40Speaker 2: bit of an ice queen, like back in the day.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I never used to know how to communicate. Yeah, so no,
- 1:45Speaker 2: I would keep people at arm's length and I would
- 1:46Speaker 2: be so terrified to voice what it was that I
- 1:48Speaker 2: wanted that I would come off as really cold. So yeah,
- 1:51Speaker 2: this really really helps me. So if you're stialing with
- 1:54Speaker 2: issues with communication, you're scared you can't have hard conversations.
- 1:57Speaker 2: This is really powerful.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Love that mine is a beauty product. I've got it
- 2:01Speaker 1: in my hot little hands. Er hunt if you're an
- 2:03Speaker 1: oily girl and you find you get shiny.
- 2:06Speaker 3: This has been an absolute game changer.
- 2:08Speaker 1: But I think there is a way to apply it
- 2:11Speaker 1: that I'm still practicing. But we recently had a new
- 2:14Speaker 1: makeup butter As do our makeup and my makeup. The
- 2:16Speaker 1: first one I got it done with her, my makeup
- 2:19Speaker 1: did not shift. I didn't get shiny for a whole
- 2:20Speaker 1: nine hours. Got to the end of the day after
- 2:22Speaker 1: the wedding, I was like, oh my gosh, I'm not shiny.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I haven't had to touch my makeup at all. So
- 2:27Speaker 1: it's by Herd of Beauty and it's a loose powder.
- 2:30Speaker 1: It's called easy Bake, and I'm in the color pound Cake.
- 2:33Speaker 1: It's got a slight tint to it. But you don't
- 2:36Speaker 1: just whack it on a brush and brush it on. Mean,
- 2:38Speaker 1: you can do that, but the way the makeup I
- 2:40Speaker 1: have did it, which she puts it on one of
- 2:41Speaker 1: those little pads, puts the product on and then presses
- 2:44Speaker 1: the product into the palm of her hand, which primes it.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Then pushes it into my skin and it's flawless. It literally,
- 2:52Speaker 1: if I was to show you a video, it kind
- 2:54Speaker 1: of minimizes and makes your paws look airbrushed.
- 2:57Speaker 3: It's wild.
- 2:58Speaker 1: I lost my little pad thing so I could be
- 3:00Speaker 1: using a brush light and it doesn't work the same.
- 3:03Speaker 1: But I really love this powder oily girl. Try to get
- 3:06Speaker 1: one of those little pads and press it into your
- 3:08Speaker 1: hand first and then into your skin and all make
- 3:10Speaker 1: your makeup last.
- 3:11Speaker 3: So much longer.
- 3:12Speaker 2: We love an airbrushed look.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I do love hood to beauty. I've tried one of
- 3:14Speaker 1: their lip glosses, one of their lipliners. It's really good quality.
- 3:17Speaker 2: It's just a Sephora beautiful bit more pricey, but worth it,
- 3:20Speaker 2: worth it, Yeah, good investment, Yes, beautiful.
- 3:23Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about orgasms, the big, oh.
- 3:26Speaker 3: The bigger.
- 3:29Speaker 1: We all love them, we do, we absolutely do.
- 3:31Speaker 2: But everyone talks about it like it's a big dirty
- 3:33Speaker 2: secret anything sexual.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Hey, yeah, it's crazy.
- 3:36Speaker 1: But even our stats when we look at our downloads,
- 3:38Speaker 1: the most downloaded episodes are always the ones that involve sex.
- 3:41Speaker 1: They are everyone's talking about it, everyone's interested in it,
- 3:43Speaker 1: everyone's doing it.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Why is it so taboo?
- 3:45Speaker 2: It is such a taperod topic. And I find it's
- 3:49Speaker 2: so interesting that something that is so natural, yeah, something
- 3:52Speaker 2: that everyone seems to be sel afraid.
- 3:53Speaker 3: To talk about and so pleasurable and that creates life.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Why is it looked at as dirty or wrong or
- 3:58Speaker 1: something we shouldn't talk about.
- 4:00Speaker 2: It's like shamed. Why immediately?
- 4:02Speaker 1: Yeah, So today we're gonna uncover and just talk about
- 4:06Speaker 1: what prevents us from reaching an orgasm. And this conversation
- 4:09Speaker 1: sparked because we had, in fact, a couple of Besty
- 4:11Speaker 1: Advice submissions come in and well, look, we get a lot,
- 4:13Speaker 1: so we haven't got through them all, but we did
- 4:15Speaker 1: notice a couple come through of women who are struggling
- 4:17Speaker 1: to get there, and I think there's so many reasons
- 4:19Speaker 1: why women do. So we're going to talk about personal
- 4:21Speaker 1: things that prevented us from reaching the big O or
- 4:24Speaker 1: just impacting how long it takes us to get there,
- 4:27Speaker 1: and not that it's a rush to get there, but
- 4:29Speaker 1: I'll start for me personally, it means he's so good
- 4:32Speaker 1: in bed, but I love that.
- 4:35Speaker 3: For you, it doesn't struggle.
- 4:36Speaker 1: But I know there has been times where I've been
- 4:39Speaker 1: in my head if I'm really stressed, or I haven't
- 4:43Speaker 1: taken the time beforehand to have a shower and get
- 4:46Speaker 1: in my feminine energy and hop in a nice nicety
- 4:48Speaker 1: or put music on and just things that help my
- 4:50Speaker 1: body soften and relax, or the kids have interrupted us
- 4:54Speaker 1: three times already. I'm like, I can't get there because
- 4:56Speaker 1: I'm just like stressed about when the next knock at
- 4:58Speaker 1: the door is going to be, or if I'm super
- 5:01Speaker 1: disregulated and just like not in the mood and having
- 5:03Speaker 1: a hard time or want to. It just feels harder
- 5:06Speaker 1: because I'm so in my head, I'm not in my body.
- 5:09Speaker 1: When Steve and I go away, it's just like the
- 5:11Speaker 1: best I feel like, I'm instantly like stress has gone away,
- 5:13Speaker 1: and it just feels so much easier and more enjoyable
- 5:16Speaker 1: and more pleasurable to get there multiple times because I'm
- 5:19Speaker 1: not stressed and I'm out of my head, my parents'
- 5:22Speaker 1: hats off, my work hat's off, and I'm just so
- 5:25Speaker 1: present with him with my body.
- 5:26Speaker 2: I was just thinking about the time of your message
- 5:28Speaker 2: me and You're like, yeah, just guys, I'm like six
- 5:30Speaker 2: fives and sorry. It was the only thing that came
- 5:33Speaker 2: to my head then, So I was just like, I
- 5:35Speaker 2: fucking love that for you. Yeah, there's nothing more like
- 5:38Speaker 2: powerful than a woman who's lit up and like, yeah,
- 5:41Speaker 2: sexually connected to herself it's like that life force energy.
- 5:43Speaker 1: People wonder why we go on stay case each month,
- 5:46Speaker 1: I'll tell you why. Or is at home guarantee we
- 5:50Speaker 1: get to knock at the door every single time, even
- 5:51Speaker 1: if think it's gone to bed, to be like, what
- 5:53Speaker 1: time you guys go to bed? I'm thirsty, I'm hungry.
- 5:56Speaker 1: What are you guys doing?
- 5:56Speaker 3: I want to talk?
- 5:57Speaker 2: What hang? It's like, oh my god, like five minutes please.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it is hard.
- 6:02Speaker 1: If you are super disregulated, you're stressed, you're in your head,
- 6:05Speaker 1: you were going to find it a lot harder to
- 6:07Speaker 1: reach an orgasm. Yeah.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Absolutely, It's so interesting. I mean I've spoken about obviously
- 6:11Speaker 2: the video of a few times on here, but like
- 6:13Speaker 2: speak to it in a different way. When that video happened.
- 6:17Speaker 2: I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I
- 6:19Speaker 2: really struggled to self pleasure after that experience happened. So
- 6:22Speaker 2: for anyone who's listening for the first time, who doesn't know,
- 6:24Speaker 2: I have an episode way back when at the beginning
- 6:26Speaker 2: of the year about a sex tape that was released
- 6:29Speaker 2: by a next partner of mine that wasn't like I
- 6:31Speaker 2: had no consent to. So this happened without my consent.
- 6:34Speaker 2: And went around my hometown and completely changed my life
- 6:37Speaker 2: and the trajectory of my life. So if you haven't listened,
- 6:39Speaker 2: go back and listen. But otherwise, after that experience, I
- 6:42Speaker 2: really felt disconnected from my pleasure and my body. And
- 6:46Speaker 2: I think it was a way of coping at the
- 6:47Speaker 2: time because at the time I had this story of like,
- 6:51Speaker 2: oh my gosh, you're so dirty for wanting sex and
- 6:54Speaker 2: engaging in it. And I felt like, you know, literally
- 6:57Speaker 2: like a quote unquote dirty girl because I got slut
- 7:00Speaker 2: shamed for it, you know, and women and men both
- 7:03Speaker 2: everyone was like, you're a slut, You're so dirty, so gross,
- 7:07Speaker 2: like fucking ill, like as if you do that, like
- 7:09Speaker 2: what a skank, and like all of the like slut
- 7:11Speaker 2: shaming things that kind of came with that. And so
- 7:14Speaker 2: after that, I was like, Nope, I'm just going to
- 7:16Speaker 2: shut myself off to that part of myself. I stopped
- 7:18Speaker 2: self pleasuring if I were in a relationship, when at
- 7:22Speaker 2: the time I actually was in a relationship. When I
- 7:24Speaker 2: found out, and I remember our intimacy and like having sex,
- 7:29Speaker 2: I was like more in my head than I was anything.
- 7:32Speaker 2: So it was always like a performative based thing for me.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Where I was just doing the thing to do the thing,
- 7:38Speaker 2: as opposed to one genuinely feel good pleasure, to please
- 7:41Speaker 2: your partner, to please my partner, put on a show
- 7:44Speaker 2: to make sure it was all about him, because I
- 7:46Speaker 2: was so disconnected from myself that I was like, Oh,
- 7:48Speaker 2: don't worry about me. There doesn't matter, It doesn't really matter.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I was just like they were even times, babe, where
- 7:53Speaker 2: I would finish having sex and then I would like,
- 7:56Speaker 2: go get myself off in the bathroom. I would go
- 7:58Speaker 2: play with myself in the bathroom because I would feel
- 8:01Speaker 2: guilty for asking and wanting that, because I didn't want
- 8:04Speaker 2: one more person to see me wanting sex or a
- 8:08Speaker 2: pleasure or so much things. Yeah, and that was a
- 8:10Speaker 2: really challenging thing to go through with someone so young.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Because I had this conflict about me. I was like,
- 8:15Speaker 2: I love this, I want to explore this, I want
- 8:18Speaker 2: to push my limits in this. And because I had
- 8:21Speaker 2: carried all this shame, I was like, but you're not
- 8:22Speaker 2: allowed to. You shouldn't want that. You're such a dirty girl.
- 8:25Speaker 2: So it was this internal battle that was kind of
- 8:27Speaker 2: going back and forth in my head at all times
- 8:30Speaker 2: when it came to that. So even in the moments
- 8:32Speaker 2: when I'd be with a partner and i'd explore something
- 8:34Speaker 2: new for the first time, I'd open up and I'd
- 8:36Speaker 2: be like, yeah, okay, cool, blah blah blah, but no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 8:39Speaker 2: don't want to do that, and I would completely like
- 8:42Speaker 2: shut myself down in the time and something that has
- 8:45Speaker 2: taken me years, I think up until reading the book
- 8:48Speaker 2: Pussy the Reclamation. I highly recommend this book if you're
- 8:51Speaker 2: going through this journey yourself. I started reading that book
- 8:54Speaker 2: probably in twenty twenty two, and that was when I
- 8:57Speaker 2: first started to kind of reclaim my sexual energy. And
- 9:00Speaker 2: around that time, I started to push the limit and
- 9:03Speaker 2: I started to create like a self pleasure practice because
- 9:06Speaker 2: I was so disconnected from myself, couldn't even look at myself,
- 9:09Speaker 2: didn't want to play myself unless I had a partner,
- 9:11Speaker 2: like none of that stuff. And then yeah, I started
- 9:14Speaker 2: to reclaim it, started to create a practice. Wanted to
- 9:17Speaker 2: explore myself more, explore my own limits with pleasure. But
- 9:21Speaker 2: what I would find started to happen was that I
- 9:24Speaker 2: would set like a nice mood lighting like candles flod
- 9:27Speaker 2: lingerie on for myself, like lead myself into a listener, music, whatever,
- 9:31Speaker 2: and then as I was like reaching orgasm, I would
- 9:34Speaker 2: stop myself. And so it was like I didn't feel
- 9:38Speaker 2: safe orgasming because of all the shame that I was carrying. Yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 2: And so it was almost like a mental block in
- 9:45Speaker 2: some way that every time I would get right before
- 9:48Speaker 2: the peak of orgasm boom, I would stop and then
- 9:50Speaker 2: I'd be like, Okay, cool, that's enough. And then I'd
- 9:52Speaker 2: be like, oh yeah, and.
- 9:53Speaker 3: I stuff to always have the reward. No, you don't
- 9:55Speaker 3: deserve it because you're that's right.
- 9:57Speaker 2: That's exactly right. That was happening in my head. And
- 9:59Speaker 2: so for years on end, even when I would be
- 10:02Speaker 2: with a partner and he were like, say, playing with
- 10:04Speaker 2: me or like getting me to an orgasm, I would
- 10:08Speaker 2: stop him, yeah, because I'd be like, oh no, no, it's
- 10:10Speaker 2: too much, too much. But it wasn't because it was
- 10:12Speaker 2: too intense. It was because I didn't feel safe orgasming. Yeah,
- 10:14Speaker 2: And so I had to rebuild that relationship with myself
- 10:17Speaker 2: and my body. And the way that I found that
- 10:19Speaker 2: I've done that is in the moments when I find
- 10:22Speaker 2: myself wanting to stop or wanting to pull my head
- 10:25Speaker 2: out and you're also allowed to experience pleasure, like it
- 10:28Speaker 2: is safe to experience this right now. And so it
- 10:31Speaker 2: was a lot of self talk through the moments of
- 10:33Speaker 2: leading myself to that point so that I could finally
- 10:36Speaker 2: feel safe to actually orgasm. This is so interesting. I've
- 10:40Speaker 2: never spoken about this like it's cool publicly because.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I reckon there be so many women that have never
- 10:45Speaker 1: had an orgasm. Or we had someone writing remember and
- 10:48Speaker 1: they had never self pleasure until the age of like
- 10:50Speaker 1: forty three, and we were like, what do you mean this?
- 10:52Speaker 1: There's so much sexual shame. So is there anything else
- 10:55Speaker 1: that helped you along the way? Like, I know you
- 10:56Speaker 1: just said there's a lot of self talk. Was there
- 10:58Speaker 1: anything else that helps your body relax and get in
- 11:01Speaker 1: the mood and actually lay yourself to get there and
- 11:04Speaker 1: fully enjoy it with zero shame?
- 11:05Speaker 3: Was there any of the tools you use?
- 11:06Speaker 2: I think the nervous system is a huge one for this,
- 11:09Speaker 2: only because the way that you go into self pleasure
- 11:13Speaker 2: or even intimacy with a partner is going to set
- 11:15Speaker 2: the tone for the rest of the time. So if
- 11:17Speaker 2: you come in and you're overstimulated and you're overwhelmed, like
- 11:20Speaker 2: you're only going to stay stuck in your head, You're
- 11:21Speaker 2: not really going to enjoy yourself fully. So for me,
- 11:24Speaker 2: it was about setting the intention the tone beforehand. So
- 11:28Speaker 2: like what I mentioned, I would either put on a
- 11:29Speaker 2: playlist and I would sit in my room and I
- 11:31Speaker 2: would like move my body. Yeah, put on lingerie for myself,
- 11:34Speaker 2: even do like a bit of mirror work where I
- 11:36Speaker 2: would like stare at myself naked or like literally, this
- 11:39Speaker 2: is gonna seem so visual. It's going to create a
- 11:40Speaker 2: visual image in your head. But looking into the mirror
- 11:43Speaker 2: or like sitting in front of the mirror with your
- 11:45Speaker 2: legs apart. Yeah, and like actually looking at yourself naked.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of them can find that confronting.
- 11:50Speaker 2: It can be quite confronting, but it's a really beautiful
- 11:52Speaker 2: practice like way to really build self love. And so
- 11:55Speaker 2: through doing things like that and also taking time with
- 11:58Speaker 2: my body, I found I would use coconut oil.
- 12:02Speaker 3: I was thinking at.
- 12:02Speaker 2: The time of the Airbnb Oh yes, aha, Okay, side note,
- 12:08Speaker 2: I went to an AIRBMB stayk by myself and I
- 12:11Speaker 2: like love coconut oil, right, And I just like when
- 12:14Speaker 2: I go to like self pleasure, like sometimes I'll like
- 12:16Speaker 2: rub coroconut oil all over my body, and I had
- 12:19Speaker 2: to buy new sheets for the plon got stuck on
- 12:21Speaker 2: the show because the oil stained the sheets at the Airbnb,
- 12:24Speaker 2: and they were like, I don't know what's happened here,
- 12:26Speaker 2: but the sheets are really bad.
- 12:28Speaker 3: You're like, I just use it as a moistress.
- 12:30Speaker 2: I did say that, and I technically do, but there
- 12:32Speaker 2: are other intentions for it anyway.
- 12:36Speaker 3: So funny.
- 12:37Speaker 2: So, I'm a very physical touch kind of person, and
- 12:39Speaker 2: I never used to get physical touch unless a partner
- 12:41Speaker 2: was touching me or holding me or whatever. And so
- 12:44Speaker 2: I learned how to just you know, run my fingers
- 12:46Speaker 2: across like my shoulder, or down and up my arm,
- 12:49Speaker 2: or like I'd put my legs up and I'd like
- 12:50Speaker 2: tickle like the underside of my legs. And then I
- 12:53Speaker 2: would slowly start to like breathe as I would do that,
- 12:57Speaker 2: and I found that my nervous system would calm down,
- 13:00Speaker 2: I would regulate, I would start to get more into
- 13:02Speaker 2: my feeling space as opposed to being in my head
- 13:05Speaker 2: and really thinking about what I was doing. Yeah, I
- 13:07Speaker 2: was actually feeling, and so touching my body like that
- 13:10Speaker 2: in a really gentle way allowed me to anchor into
- 13:13Speaker 2: the feeling tickles on my leg. Oh, like the way
- 13:16Speaker 2: that feels on my neck and allows you to really
- 13:18Speaker 2: anchor in. That was really powerful for me. And then
- 13:22Speaker 2: every time I felt like I was limiting myself or
- 13:24Speaker 2: feeling like I'm getting to that point of an orgasm
- 13:26Speaker 2: and I try to stop myself, it would just be like,
- 13:29Speaker 2: how can I surrender one percent more? Yeah, just surrender
- 13:32Speaker 2: one percent more. You don't even need to orgasm. You
- 13:34Speaker 2: don't need to get to that point. We're not trying
- 13:36Speaker 2: to get to an outcome. This is purely for pleasure.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Based during the experience into a experience.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what it became about, because five years, ten
- 13:44Speaker 2: years ago, it was about how quickly can I get
- 13:47Speaker 2: to an orgasm? How hard and fast can I get that?
- 13:49Speaker 2: But it's not about that, So like the lead up
- 13:52Speaker 2: is more important because that's going to get you to
- 13:54Speaker 2: an orgasm.
- 13:55Speaker 1: And the longer the lead up, I believed, the better
- 13:57Speaker 1: your orgasm. Oh my god, i'n't want us the other
- 13:59Speaker 1: the day. How I just I don't like vibrators anymore.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I'm like years ago I used to. Now I'm like,
- 14:03Speaker 1: it's just over so quick. It's not I don't know
- 14:06Speaker 1: just feel so disconnecting. I really rather take the time
- 14:09Speaker 1: with Steve or with myself, and that lead up is
- 14:11Speaker 1: so enjoyable. You can make it so enjoyable.
- 14:14Speaker 2: We had this conversation and I remember saying to you, babe,
- 14:16Speaker 2: by banning myself from a vibrator, yeah, it desensitizes me. Yeah,
- 14:20Speaker 2: and then I find if I use my vibrator when
- 14:22Speaker 2: I'm single, and then I get into a relationship, it
- 14:25Speaker 2: takes double the amount of work to get me there,
- 14:27Speaker 2: and then I start getting frustrated. Yeah, because I've set
- 14:29Speaker 2: this expectation in my head that it should be quick,
- 14:32Speaker 2: but like women's bodies aren't quick. Takes twenty to forty
- 14:35Speaker 2: five minutes. Yes, you'd actually orgasm, is that right?
- 14:38Speaker 1: Would just really be fully soft and open. We're ready
- 14:41Speaker 1: to enjoy it.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. We had a really cool episode with a
- 14:44Speaker 2: sexologist Lily at the beginning of the year. She go
- 14:46Speaker 2: listen to that. It's very powerful.
- 14:48Speaker 1: I remember when Steve and I did a relationship course
- 14:50Speaker 1: with Tony Robbins years ago and they had a sex
- 14:53Speaker 1: ologist on stage and he said, like, yeah, same thing.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Twenty to forty minutes. You should be just purely touching
- 14:59Speaker 1: your woman that's massaging, taking her hair out, kissing her,
- 15:02Speaker 1: tickling her back, massaging her before you even touch her vagina. Yes,
- 15:06Speaker 1: and like he's like, guarantee you do that. You have
- 15:09Speaker 1: a fully soft, open, wet, ready excited, horny wife. Very true,
- 15:14Speaker 1: and your sexual experience will change forever.
- 15:17Speaker 2: The anticipation and the lead up. I find it is
- 15:19Speaker 2: such a powerful thing.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Definitely.
- 15:21Speaker 2: So if you find that you're struggling to orgasm, you
- 15:23Speaker 2: feel scared, nervous, or even going fast, like it's more
- 15:27Speaker 2: rough sex. If that feels like overwhelming for your nervous system,
- 15:31Speaker 2: slow it down, Like if you have a partner, ask
- 15:34Speaker 2: your partner to try all this with you and to
- 15:36Speaker 2: explore something new where you're taking as much time as
- 15:40Speaker 2: you need to witness how your body gets worked up. Yea,
- 15:43Speaker 2: because when you start to see that, you'd be like,
- 15:44Speaker 2: oh wow, I actually need more of that. And then
- 15:47Speaker 2: also if you're single, I'm sure you could ask if
- 15:49Speaker 2: you're sexually involved with anybody, you'd be able to do
- 15:52Speaker 2: this process too, or just by yourself.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Edging edging, Oh, edging so hot.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Edging is very good.
- 15:58Speaker 3: You haven't heard of it.
- 15:59Speaker 1: It's just like getting yourself to the near point of
- 16:01Speaker 1: orgasm and then pulling it back. And you can do
- 16:04Speaker 1: this in just in sex and still reach orgasm, or
- 16:08Speaker 1: Steve and I sometimes do it. We're like last time
- 16:10Speaker 1: we went to Sydney, we edged like the whole day
- 16:13Speaker 1: but wouldn't allow ourselves to actually have sex. Oh, so
- 16:15Speaker 1: by time we had sex, it was just so much
- 16:17Speaker 1: more intense, really, and the whole day was just so
- 16:20Speaker 1: exciting and like we're just so sensitive and excited and
- 16:22Speaker 1: just in this really sexual, fun, playful energy. But at
- 16:26Speaker 1: home once again, it's harder with kids when you've got
- 16:28Speaker 1: that time and space like all day for it to
- 16:30Speaker 1: be rolled around that.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so fun. It's so fun too because when
- 16:33Speaker 2: you're in a headspace, you're really sensitive. Body is sensitive,
- 16:37Speaker 2: so it's like even one little touch shivers. Try it. Yeah,
- 16:42Speaker 2: if you need to google it, you can google it.
- 16:45Speaker 1: But it's a really important conversation that we wanted to
- 16:47Speaker 1: bring in because you know, we have experienced that. We
- 16:49Speaker 1: were struggled to get there and if you're struggling. Another
- 16:51Speaker 1: thing too, is like the self pleasure thing. I think
- 16:53Speaker 1: is a really important aspect because if you don't know
- 16:56Speaker 1: what feels good for your body. And that's just like
- 16:59Speaker 1: physically touching and your vagina or any area of your body.
- 17:02Speaker 1: If you don't know what feels good for you, how
- 17:04Speaker 1: does your partner? And I went to an event last year.
- 17:07Speaker 1: There's maybe thirty women there and she had someone coming
- 17:10Speaker 1: to talk about sex and self pleasure, and she asked
- 17:13Speaker 1: her as a self pleasure practice, I was the only
- 17:15Speaker 1: person put my hand up. Some of the women like, never,
- 17:18Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I've never done that.
- 17:19Speaker 3: What does that look like?
- 17:20Speaker 2: I do that? Yeah.
- 17:21Speaker 1: It was like they were all so embarrassed even talk
- 17:23Speaker 1: about it. And I was like, Oh, I do this,
- 17:25Speaker 1: get the marry out and do this. And I was
- 17:27Speaker 1: just so free to talk about it because I've just
- 17:29Speaker 1: done that for years now. But doing that with myself
- 17:32Speaker 1: really improved my intimacy with Steve because I just knew
- 17:36Speaker 1: my body so well and I knew how to get
- 17:37Speaker 1: myself soft and ready and excited, and that just helps
- 17:41Speaker 1: your relationship as well. But yeah, I think taking the
- 17:43Speaker 1: pressure off reaching an orgasm too. I think a lot
- 17:46Speaker 1: of people just think, oh, to have sex, got to
- 17:47Speaker 1: reach there. I think if you get rid of that
- 17:49Speaker 1: first and just actually just enjoy the experience, with your
- 17:52Speaker 1: partner and connecting with them and taking it slow, you'll
- 17:54Speaker 1: find you get there a lot easier.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 17:56Speaker 1: With the opposite problem, you have to like hold back, No,
- 17:58Speaker 1: it's done, it over too quickly. Yeah, I was like,
- 18:01Speaker 1: no it stop, I'm not ready and I want to
- 18:03Speaker 1: get I want to enjoy this longer.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Yes, totally. And when you are self pleasuring and you're
- 18:08Speaker 2: starting this practice, there's going to be like a little
- 18:11Speaker 2: introm period where you feel a little weird about it.
- 18:13Speaker 2: That's so true, you know, like, let's just normalize it.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Feeling awkward, weird, You're feeling a bit like, ah, should
- 18:19Speaker 2: I be doing this? Or you might even have the
- 18:21Speaker 2: stories of like who has the time for this? This
- 18:24Speaker 2: is silly, this feels stupid. I should be doing my
- 18:26Speaker 2: to do list right now because let's face it, we
- 18:28Speaker 2: all end up.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Or just wait my partner gets home.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Yes, why would I when my partner can do it
- 18:32Speaker 2: for me. But your relationship with yourself is based on
- 18:35Speaker 2: your relationship with yourself, and all of those limitations are
- 18:39Speaker 2: just resistance and likely based on fear of you actually
- 18:43Speaker 2: connecting with your body because it doesn't feel safe yet. Yeah,
- 18:46Speaker 2: and think about what that might look like in a
- 18:48Speaker 2: couple months time when you actually get to a point
- 18:51Speaker 2: where you start to soften with yourself, and this can
- 18:53Speaker 2: happen really quickly. When you prioritize this the way that
- 18:57Speaker 2: you learn to soften, you start to understand why it's
- 19:00Speaker 2: important to slow down. You also start to enjoy and
- 19:04Speaker 2: create pleasure yourself instead of always waiting for somebody else
- 19:07Speaker 2: to do it. Because I really was that woman who
- 19:09Speaker 2: was like, I'm not playing or self pleasuring and unless
- 19:12Speaker 2: my partner's doing it, I didn't experience physical touch outside
- 19:16Speaker 2: of having a partner. Yeah, not even with myself. I'm like,
- 19:19Speaker 2: how can it be good with him if I don't
- 19:21Speaker 2: even have it good with myself? And I don't understand
- 19:23Speaker 2: what it feels like to be able to create that
- 19:25Speaker 2: for myself, which is such a powerful way to really
- 19:27Speaker 2: tap into your feminine energy and that really beautiful like
- 19:31Speaker 2: life force energy that you have. Because when you can
- 19:33Speaker 2: create that of your own, you can then bring that
- 19:36Speaker 2: into the bedroom exactly. So you bring that like spicy
- 19:38Speaker 2: minx kind of energy to your partner. He's like, who
- 19:40Speaker 2: is this woman? Is this my partner?
- 19:42Speaker 1: I love that there's this guy on social media that
- 19:45Speaker 1: Jake Guy. Oh, Jake Woodard is that his name?
- 19:47Speaker 2: Yeah, Jake Woodard.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Okay.
- 19:49Speaker 1: So I mean, if you're a bit prutish, or you're
- 19:51Speaker 1: closed minded, or your judgy, this is not the page
- 19:54Speaker 1: to follow. But I really enjoy his content. Look, I
- 19:57Speaker 1: don't agree with every single thing that he says, sometimes
- 20:00Speaker 1: like hmm, that could have been worded differently, or he's
- 20:03Speaker 1: very black and white. But some things he says, I'm like, Wow,
- 20:07Speaker 1: he's willing to say the things that everyone else is
- 20:09Speaker 1: too scared to say, and he doesn't care what anyone thinks.
- 20:12Speaker 1: But a word that he's used lately is slutty, to
- 20:16Speaker 1: be slutty for your husband. And I found this so interesting.
- 20:18Speaker 1: I think a couple of years ago, if I was
- 20:20Speaker 1: to read this, I would have been really triggered. I
- 20:22Speaker 1: would have been like, oh my gosh, I can't believe
- 20:23Speaker 1: he's telling women to be slutty for their husband.
- 20:25Speaker 3: That's disgusting because I had a.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Story that slutty was bad and slutty was dirty, and
- 20:29Speaker 1: slutty was like just giving yourself away to everyone. But
- 20:33Speaker 1: he was saying that the more like sluttier woman it is,
- 20:35Speaker 1: the more in touch she is with herself and she's
- 20:37Speaker 1: just freely expressing herself sexually with her partner. And when
- 20:41Speaker 1: women initiate is what he says. Women initiate sex with
- 20:43Speaker 1: their partner, they activate this like primal masculine, like oh,
- 20:48Speaker 1: like strength within their man that then activates them to
- 20:50Speaker 1: want to take care of you. So all these women
- 20:52Speaker 1: are in his DM saying, oh, I need my man
- 20:54Speaker 1: to step up. My men's lazy and da da da,
- 20:56Speaker 1: And that was his questions, like, are you being slutty
- 20:58Speaker 1: with your husband? Are you activating him? Are you giving
- 21:01Speaker 1: him a reason to want to come home to you?
- 21:03Speaker 1: Because when you are slutty with your man, it activates
- 21:06Speaker 1: them in them, and naturally they want to take care
- 21:08Speaker 1: of you. Yes, I think that makes so much sense.
- 21:10Speaker 3: It makes so much hate for this. Oh no, it
- 21:14Speaker 3: makes sense.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Bring it in reflecting now, since I am more quote
- 21:18Speaker 1: unquote slutty and sexually embodied and just freer in the
- 21:21Speaker 1: bedroom with Steep, it has brought us so much closer,
- 21:24Speaker 1: so much more sexual intimacy, so much more connected, so
- 21:27Speaker 1: much more fun. I feel alive, He feels more alive.
- 21:31Speaker 1: It is so true, But I just have never heard
- 21:33Speaker 1: anyone explain it like that and give women full permission
- 21:37Speaker 1: to bring out that inner slight energy and let it
- 21:39Speaker 1: be free and wild because we are we are true feminine,
- 21:43Speaker 1: We are so wild. We're not contained in a box
- 21:46Speaker 1: to be a good girl. That is not natural for
- 21:48Speaker 1: a woman that's fully in touch with herself.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Yes.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's so interesting too, because when a woman
- 21:53Speaker 2: is limited, even in the act of sex or the
- 21:56Speaker 2: act of intimacy, if she is in her head, she's
- 21:59Speaker 2: not fully there. She's performing, and feminine is present. Feminine
- 22:02Speaker 2: is present, Feminine is feeling. So if you're not and
- 22:05Speaker 2: you're getting lost in it that you don't even know
- 22:07Speaker 2: what sounds you're making or like how your body is. Yeah,
- 22:10Speaker 2: because you're so in the moment you're living in your head,
- 22:12Speaker 2: you're not getting to the full extent of pleasure, to
- 22:14Speaker 2: what you can feel and experience. I love that he
- 22:17Speaker 2: talks about it in that way, the slootiness, because this
- 22:20Speaker 2: is something I've been so open with you about with
- 22:22Speaker 2: my last relationship. I love putting on a show, yeah,
- 22:26Speaker 2: and I love activating that like call it my seductress, yeah,
- 22:29Speaker 2: because I love being in that seductress energy. When it's
- 22:31Speaker 2: in a relationship, it's so much fun, and the men
- 22:34Speaker 2: love it, like coming home literally being naked on the floor.
- 22:37Speaker 2: You know, yeah, you know, it's just it's fun to
- 22:41Speaker 2: create that energy. And sometimes it feels edgy and it
- 22:44Speaker 2: feels scary, but it's also a really beautiful part of life.
- 22:47Speaker 2: And when you and your partner both able to create
- 22:50Speaker 2: a space or even just yourself first and foremost, to
- 22:53Speaker 2: create a space where you don't have to judge yourself
- 22:56Speaker 2: for that, you're gonna have so much more fun.
- 22:58Speaker 1: And he was saying, too, I don't want to say
- 23:00Speaker 1: this wrong, so I feel like I'm gonna get so
- 23:01Speaker 1: much backlash. He's saying, too, that's like a reason why
- 23:04Speaker 1: a lot of men are so drawn to porn because
- 23:07Speaker 1: even though it's like not real quote unquote, it's these
- 23:10Speaker 1: women that are so wild and alive and loud and
- 23:13Speaker 1: like in their bodies and it's like a fantasy world
- 23:16Speaker 1: that if they don't get that at home, you can
- 23:18Speaker 1: see how they're drawn to that excitement. Whereas if a
- 23:22Speaker 1: man's partner is doing that, if a woman is doing
- 23:24Speaker 1: that in her relationship, there's not as much reason to
- 23:27Speaker 1: look elsewhere because naturally men are drawn to that, they're
- 23:31Speaker 1: visual they're visual creatures. I love reading his Q and
- 23:34Speaker 1: a's because like a couple of women saying, oh, my
- 23:36Speaker 1: man is naturally more shy. I'm the one that initiates.
- 23:39Speaker 1: He's more Vanila in the bedroom, and he's like, there's
- 23:42Speaker 1: a little boy that's been shamed around sex. He claws
- 23:45Speaker 1: on that I'm shy, but he just hasn't been activated yet.
- 23:48Speaker 1: And you can bring that by being your free self
- 23:50Speaker 1: and creating safety in his body and in that environment,
- 23:54Speaker 1: you watch him step up and you watch the man
- 23:56Speaker 1: come alive because a little boy is still there. That's like, oh,
- 23:58Speaker 1: and I've got to be like this.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Oh I like that.
- 24:01Speaker 1: But we have the power to activate that in our
- 24:03Speaker 1: men and bring them forward. The feminine expands the masculine.
- 24:08Speaker 1: We make everything bigger in such a beautiful way. But
- 24:11Speaker 1: we have to be our true selves. We have to
- 24:13Speaker 1: be so connected to our body, so regulated, calm, wild, free,
- 24:17Speaker 1: and bring all of that. And I just love it.
- 24:19Speaker 1: So if you looking for a new person to follow,
- 24:22Speaker 1: you definitely might feel activated or triggered by some of
- 24:24Speaker 1: the stuff he says. And also know that if you do,
- 24:27Speaker 1: there's something there for you. Because when I read that
- 24:29Speaker 1: word slutty. I could feel part of my body that
- 24:31Speaker 1: was like, oh, okay, that's my old self reacting. Yeah,
- 24:35Speaker 1: I would have really reacted to that few years ago.
- 24:37Speaker 3: I just sat with it.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, kept reading what he was meaning. I'm like,
- 24:40Speaker 1: I can see that, and I'm definitely slutty in the
- 24:42Speaker 1: bedroom for study.
- 24:42Speaker 3: But I never would have worded it like that.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Yes, and now it's like reclaiming the words so it's
- 24:48Speaker 2: not a negative thing into something exactly and playful and fun.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Yes, slutty could also mean just wild or free, and
- 24:54Speaker 1: you're right that state when you're making love or having
- 24:57Speaker 1: sex of being like almost an ecstasy where you can't
- 25:00Speaker 1: remember almost how you were. That means you're fully in
- 25:03Speaker 1: your body, You're fully in the experience, and that is
- 25:07Speaker 1: the best feeling in the world. It's incredible that you
- 25:09Speaker 1: can do that with the person that you love. So amazing,
- 25:11Speaker 1: so fun, so fun. So we hope this episode is
- 25:15Speaker 1: just helped you to do It's a little bit of
- 25:16Speaker 1: a reflection of where you're out if you are struggling
- 25:18Speaker 1: to get there and you're not really enjoying the experience
- 25:20Speaker 1: in your head. Like we have so many submissions that
- 25:22Speaker 1: come through, and so many mums listening, and I get it.
- 25:24Speaker 1: It's fucking hard with kids and you're tired and maybe
- 25:27Speaker 1: going through postpartum depression, or you don't feel confident in
- 25:29Speaker 1: your own body, or you're both busy working in stress.
- 25:32Speaker 3: I get it.
- 25:33Speaker 1: But there's definitely little things that you can do each
- 25:35Speaker 1: day that helps you get back into your body, get
- 25:38Speaker 1: back in that green zone with your nervous system, and
- 25:40Speaker 1: just implement little things that can help you start to
- 25:43Speaker 1: enjoy the experience again.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Absolutely, And if you want to bring out in a slutch, absolutely,
- 25:47Speaker 2: and I love her. And also if you want to
- 25:49Speaker 2: stop being so triggered all the time, just self pleasable.
- 25:55Speaker 3: I love it.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I like that you brought up the awkward stage though,
- 25:59Speaker 1: because I remember when I first started too of that.
- 26:01Speaker 1: And this is not even just self pleasure, but I
- 26:03Speaker 1: remember when I wanted to start mirror work for when
- 26:06Speaker 1: I was sad or depressed or grieving, actually staring at
- 26:10Speaker 1: myself in the mirror and watching myself cry because being
- 26:12Speaker 1: seen in that mess, being seen in that grief, I'm like,
- 26:15Speaker 1: if I'm going to hold especially when all this happened
- 26:18Speaker 1: with Megsie and Rambo like, if I'm going to be
- 26:20Speaker 1: able to hold her, I need to be able to
- 26:21Speaker 1: hold myself. And I was struggling to feel my own grief.
- 26:24Speaker 1: So I like sat in front of the mirror for
- 26:26Speaker 1: months on end and just cry and fully like hug
- 26:30Speaker 1: myself and hold myself through that because I needed to
- 26:32Speaker 1: be able to do that to be able to hold her.
- 26:33Speaker 1: So it can be done for like painful times and
- 26:35Speaker 1: then also pleasurable times. If you look in the mirror
- 26:38Speaker 1: and your legs are apart and you're disgusted, or you
- 26:41Speaker 1: like picking apart your body, sit there longer, stay, you
- 26:44Speaker 1: fucking stay. Do you abandon her? Yeap, Do not walk
- 26:47Speaker 1: away from her. You sit there and you find the beauty.
- 26:50Speaker 1: And it's that transition of like body hate to body
- 26:53Speaker 1: acceptance to body love. You're not going to open your
- 26:56Speaker 1: legs and look at yourself and go, oh.
- 26:57Speaker 2: My god, I love her.
- 26:58Speaker 3: She's amazing, gorgeous, pussy, you look amazing.
- 27:01Speaker 2: You will find challenging to jump from.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Very but just sit there, stay with it. Every single week,
- 27:07Speaker 1: just carve out a little bit of times just sit
- 27:08Speaker 1: there and be with her, be with you, Yeah, because
- 27:11Speaker 1: that's the journey.
- 27:12Speaker 2: And if you're on this journey where you're like kind
- 27:14Speaker 2: of past this point and you're exploring self pleasure. I
- 27:18Speaker 2: would challenge you and encourage you to start using the
- 27:22Speaker 2: mirror as a way to like increase your pleasure. So
- 27:25Speaker 2: when you're by yourself, like watching yourself.
- 27:27Speaker 3: It's hard self pleasure.
- 27:28Speaker 2: It's so hot. Yeah, for me, it's like a big thing.
- 27:31Speaker 2: For me. I love looking in the mirror, like whether
- 27:32Speaker 2: I'm with a partner or by myself so hot. I
- 27:34Speaker 2: don't know why, just I'm maybe because I'm a visual person.
- 27:37Speaker 3: I love it.
- 27:37Speaker 2: So I'm just like I'm so into that. Yeah, you know,
- 27:40Speaker 2: and it'd be like just me, I love it, Like get.
- 27:42Speaker 1: A girl, you've got nice big mirrors on your watch.
- 27:45Speaker 1: It's like Eve and I.
- 27:48Speaker 3: Move it all right, He's like they're over here.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Honestly though, I feel like for me, at least, the
- 27:53Speaker 2: visual side of things helps me get out of my head.
- 27:56Speaker 2: And I can be someone who's prone to be in
- 27:57Speaker 2: my head a lot. I'm a big thinker, always over
- 28:00Speaker 2: analyzing the Gemini and me has always got Devil's Advocate
- 28:02Speaker 2: going in my head. So for me, the visual aspect,
- 28:05Speaker 2: the physical aspect, the audible, like hearing, aspect of music.
- 28:10Speaker 2: All of those things compound to me being able to
- 28:12Speaker 2: fully let go in that moment. And again it's a practice.
- 28:16Speaker 2: What you're learning to do in practicing by doing this
- 28:18Speaker 2: is by letting go one percent more, so that the
- 28:21Speaker 2: next time that you self pleasure, the next time that
- 28:23Speaker 2: you experience intimacy with a partner, you're just letting go
- 28:26Speaker 2: one percent more. Yeah, that's it. You don't have to
- 28:28Speaker 2: put pressure on yourself. You're not getting to an outcome.
- 28:31Speaker 2: You don't need to let go quote unquote all the way. No,
- 28:34Speaker 2: it's letting go one percent more. That's it. Have fun
- 28:37Speaker 2: with it. You get to have fun with it. It doesn't
- 28:39Speaker 2: have to be this big, heart heavy thing anymore.
- 28:41Speaker 1: No way, If this is something that you want to
- 28:43Speaker 1: learn more about, we have sold out of our Bar
- 28:46Speaker 1: and Bay Retreat for the overnight passes, the sleepover passes,
- 28:49Speaker 1: but we do have seven day passes available and we

- 28:54Speaker 1: She's doing a full workshop, Yeah, all about self pleasure,
- 28:58Speaker 1: connecting back to your body. How pleasure is such an
- 29:01Speaker 1: important thing for all areas of your life. So she
- 29:04Speaker 1: is coming down to talk about that. She's the expert
- 29:06Speaker 1: in this. She has been my inspiration for this for
- 29:09Speaker 1: many and many years. She's so embodied, even through all
- 29:12Speaker 1: of her grief, through all of her hard times throughout
- 29:14Speaker 1: her life, she will always come back to pleasure and
- 29:16Speaker 1: it's so beautiful. Yeah, and she's so connected with her partner,
- 29:20Speaker 1: and I can imagine they have the most incredible sex live.
- 29:23Speaker 1: They're super connected and just so in love. And it's
- 29:25Speaker 1: because she's so embodied in it. There's no one else
- 29:28Speaker 1: that I would pick to choose this more than what.
- 29:30Speaker 3: I would choose to be so excited for that.
- 29:32Speaker 1: So if you're interested, you could come along to our
