Transcript
- 0:00There is so much that needs to change on your website.
- 0:05Maybe it's that the headline isn't clear on your homepage or your services page rambles.
- 0:12It could be that your about page feels stiff and awkward.
- 0:16You have no social proof.
- 0:18No secondary services pages, or quite honestly, it could be the opposite, that you have way too much content on your pages, but basically something's happening and that's just that the whole thing feels.
- 0:32Off and it doesn't represent your business in the way that you hoped your website would.
- 0:39But where do you even start to fix it?
- 0:42Do you rewrite the homepage first, fix the services pages, add testimonials, create individual services pages for each service you offer, or each product that you have.
- 0:54The whole thing feels like a massive tangled project, and you have no idea on your own which thread to pull without making it worse.
- 1:03Right?
- 1:04And I can tell you website copy projects.
- 1:06Are tangled projects, and if you just close the tab and decide you're gonna deal with it later, what will happen is later will never come.
- 1:16Now, if that's you and you've been staring at your website, feeling overwhelmed and stuck, if you've been hearing me talk these past handful of episodes about website improvements and not really knowing how to step in and make that better, today's episode is for you.
- 1:33Today I'm opening enrollment for Rewrite Your Site and I will walk you through exactly what is inside of the program during this episode.
- 1:42Talk about how it works and whether or not you should join if it is right for you.
- 1:48I created this program because I believe something that is not too popular in the marketing or copywriting world.
- 1:56And I've said this many times in this podcast, but I will say it today, loud and proud.
- 2:01I believe that you can write your own website copy.
- 2:06Yes, I know I'm a copywriter.
- 2:08I, I don't think I'm limiting myself because there are going to be people that will hire me to write copy for them because that is just not where they want to invest their time, their energy into right now in their marketing.
- 2:22That's great for them.
- 2:24They can hire me to do that work for them.
- 2:26But there are so many business owners out there for various reasons that are choosing to write their own copy.
- 2:33Again, it could be an investment issue, right?
- 2:36Maybe they do not have the funds to spend five, six, $7,000 on a copywriter and the same on a website designer all at once.
- 2:44It could be that they maybe have just changed their services or maybe their audience has shifted.
- 2:51It could be that they have finally honed in on, on who they serve, what they offer, and what their messaging is.
- 2:59Or it could be they just don't know their messaging at all, and they're trying to figure it out.
- 3:03But I believe that they can write their own copy without necessarily needing to hand it off.
- 3:09Why?
- 3:10Because what you actually need is help organizing your thoughts, systemizing the process.
- 3:17Developing a marketing strategy and then someone who can guide you through the actual process of doing it and edit your work as you go.
- 3:28You know your business better than anyone else ever could.
- 3:32You know your business way better than a copywriter ever could.
- 3:36You know your clients, you know what they struggle with.
- 3:39You know how you can help them.
- 3:41That knowledge is already in your head.
- 3:44You just need help getting it out in a clear and strategic way.
- 3:49What you need is a thought partner, someone who can help you see what is working and what is not.
- 3:56Someone who can give you a framework so that you are not reinventing the wheel.
- 4:02Someone who can look in your copy, maybe that you've already created, or maybe that you are about to, to create and say, this is really great.
- 4:11You should keep this, or Let's build upon this thing that you are doing here that's working so well.
- 4:17Or they can say, this is really confusing, but I can tell you how to clarify it.
- 4:23This flow isn't working.
- 4:25Let's move things around.
- 4:27So the message is easier for the reader.
- 4:30You need someone who can help you finish instead of just stopping, uh, and starting a hundred times over again.
- 4:39And that is what I do.
- 4:40That is what I can help you do.
- 4:43I can help you organize your thoughts.
- 4:45I can create a system for you to write your website copy, and more importantly, to take all that copy you eventually write and use it in different areas of your marketing, like email.
- 4:58Social, but we'll, we'll get to that later.
- 5:00I can help you do the work, stay on track.
- 5:04And the beauty of this is as an editor, I've worked in the publishing field while I've only worked in the marketing field for about 12 years, which is a long time.
- 5:12I know I've worked in the publishing field for over 20 years at this point.
- 5:17So, and I have my own literary journal that I co-founded that is an award-winning literary journal.
- 5:26So I can help you edit all of the work that you've done, all of the copy that you've written, and even more important, I can help you get to the end point so you can launch a site that actually works, a site that you're proud of.
- 5:42Because I am honestly so tired of seeing really talented business owners feel embarrassed about their websites.
- 5:51You do incredible work.
- 5:53Your clients love you, but you're apologizing for your site every time you share it.
- 5:59And that has to stop.
- 6:01You deserve a website that really represents the quality of your work, and I wanna use my skills to help you get there without it taking six months of time to finish on your own or costing you a fortune in the process.
- 6:17And because of this I built rewrite your site to be exactly that structured, supportive, strategic, and allowing you to rewrite your site within eight weeks while you have expert guidance the entire step of the way rewrite your site is an eight week group program that runs from January 6th through February 28th.
- 6:42Every week you will get training videos and templates that will walk you through exactly what to write, there will be weekly coworking calls where you can work on your site and we can do that together in real time.
- 6:56There will also be office hours where you can pick my brain, ask me questions, and we can workshop.
- 7:03Whatever you're getting stuck on, there will be a Slack community so you can share your drafts with , the other people who are working through this, if you so choose or just ask questions as you're working through things.
- 7:16You see, rewrite your site isn't a course that you buy and then never finish.
- 7:20It is a structured program where you show up, you do the work, and then guess what?
- 7:26Eight weeks later you have a complete website that you feel incredibly proud of.
- 7:31One that is clear, strategic and actually converts the visitors into clients.
- 7:38And as a bonus, I, I just mentioned this, but as a bonus, you'll learn how to repurpose that copy into things like emails, your social media, post sales calls.
- 7:48So you get way more out of your website than just the words that go on it.
- 7:54But let's talk about who this is for, because I want to make sure that you can self-select whether this is right for you.
- 8:03This program is for you if you're a service provider, creative or small business owner who has been putting off your website for far too long.
- 8:13If you truly want to write your own copy, but you need help organizing your thoughts and making sure it's strategic, if you are willing to show up and do the work and receive feedback, and if you're ready to just stop putting disclaimers when you introduce yourself to business or stop apologizing for your site, when you share it in a referral post, let's say on social media, I want you to have something that you finally really feel proud of.
- 8:43This program is also for you.
- 8:44If you have tried to rewrite your website on your own before and got stuck, you know, maybe you've stopped and started a bunch of times.
- 8:51Maybe you have a whole folder worth of copy that you can pull from, but you have no idea if it's any good.
- 8:58Uh, maybe you've just got to the point where you have changed and adjusted so many times that you don't even trust yourself anymore to know whether it is good or bad.
- 9:07This program exists so you don't do it alone Now.
- 9:12I should say who this program is not for the, obviously, I hope this is obvious, but this program is not for someone who wants someone else to write their website for them.
- 9:22It is a done with you program.
- 9:24So my role here is to provide the experience, the expertise, the strategy, the accountability, and then be able to step in once you've done the writing, and provide the editing to improve on your writing.
- 9:41Yeah.
- 9:42That might mean that I'm hopping into your draft and I'm rephrasing some of the things you say.
- 9:47That might mean that I'm completely suggesting like a whole paragraph, or I am giving you headings that just, you know, come outta my mouth and sound great and you choose to use them.
- 9:58But I'm not doing the copywriting for you.
- 10:00I'm your guide.
- 10:02I'm your consultant, I'm your strategist, and I'm your editor.
- 10:07And obviously this program is also not for someone who can't make the time to do the work.
- 10:13I planned this, so it would be beginning in January because I'm hoping that with the start of the new year, you able to allocate time to focus on your business, marketing yourself.
- 10:25And you can pre-plan that now, we have December as a pre-party so that you can actually get started if you want to.
- 10:31But do know that's optional.
- 10:33You do not have to come in into our, co-working and office hour sessions in December.
- 10:38If you are too busy or too overwhelmed, you just need to show up once January starts and do the actual work.
- 10:46In saying that, I should also say it's not a quick fix, right?
- 10:49Like this is thoughtful strategic work.
- 10:52It takes effort, it takes some rumination, but it will also serve you in the long run.
- 10:58The people who thrive in this program are capable, they're committed, and they're ready to finally just get this done with the right support.
- 11:07So let me walk you through what actually happens week by week.
- 11:11It's an eight week program that runs in four phases.
- 11:15Phase one is foundation.
- 11:17During our December pre-party, which again is completely optional, we will get a head start.
- 11:24You'll have some access to pre-work around research and offer clarity because the goal here is just to give you a running start if you want it, but zero pressure if you just want to wait until you have more space to do the work.
- 11:38When we do start in January, week one is about messaging and story mining.
- 11:44This is where we build your foundation.
- 11:46You'll clarify who you serve, what you offer.
- 11:50What makes you different and how you want to sound on your site.
- 11:55We'll also pull out stories in detail from from your work that will make your copy feel more authentic and human instead of just generic and corporate.
- 12:05By the end of the first week, you will have a positioning statement, your key brand messaging pillars, your brand voice guidelines, and a collection of stories that you can use while writing the site or even elsewhere in your marketing.
- 12:19Phase two is the high impact pages they take place from weeks two through four.
- 12:25Week two, we're gonna do your homepage and your contact page.
- 12:29We will start with those pages 'cause they have the biggest impact on whether people convert or bounce.
- 12:36You will create a homepage that makes it immediately clear what you do and who it's for, and a contact page that guides people to take action.
- 12:44Week three is your services page, and that's where you get really clear on your offers, your value, your next steps.
- 12:53We'll help you communicate what you do in a way that feels confident, not desperate, not apologetic, just clear and showcases expertise.
- 13:04Week four is about your about page.
- 13:07People dread writing their about page because it feels awkward and self-promotional.
- 13:12But we will turn your story into something that is strategic.
- 13:17It will be a page that builds trust and positions you as an expert without feeling like you're bragging, but still bragging.
- 13:24Like we want you to be, we want you to brag on your about page just in a way that feels good.
- 13:30When this is all done, we move into phase three, which is completion and refinement.
- 13:36Week five.
- 13:37I have purposely built in as a catch up week.
- 13:41If you're behind, you can use this time to continue writing those three pages.
- 13:46Well, four, I guess I should say, if you are ahead, you can refine what you've already written.
- 13:52If you're right on track, you can take a breather if you want.
- 13:55That's totally fine.
- 13:55Or get even, get even more ahead of the group.
- 13:58The week exists so you don't feel like you're constantly racing to keep up.
- 14:03Weeks six and seven are for your supporting pages and polish.
- 14:09This is when you're building out whatever other pages your site needs.
- 14:12Things like secondary services pages, resources pages, speaker pages, uh, portfolio pages, FAQs, podcast pages, whatever.
- 14:24We'll plan this ahead of time during onboarding, but that's when you'll do the completion.
- 14:28And I put it over two weeks because I honestly think you'll be able to start powering through these pages, but it's gonna take a little more than a week to do so, which is why the end of that week is for Polish.
- 14:40You'll do a full pass on your entire site to make sure everything feels cohesive and polished, and by the end of week seven, you'll have a complete site.
- 14:49Not almost done, not good enough, but.
- 14:52Done, actually done.
- 14:54Which brings us to phase four, which is launch and beyond.
- 14:59In week eight, the party's not over yet.
- 15:02'cause in week eight we are doing launch planning and copy repurposing.
- 15:07Your website is about to go live.
- 15:09So we're gonna plan your rollout strategically, how you announce it, what you say, how are you gonna make sure that people actually see your new website and keep coming to see more?
- 15:21We'll then take all of the copy that you just wrote and repurpose it for other things like.
- 15:27Social media post how to talk about things that you say in your about page during email sequences or sales conversations.
- 15:35How you write podcast pitches based on some of the things that you have on your site.
- 15:39Discovery called tricks, as well as content pillars for building out more of a, a more complex, diverse marketing strategy.
- 15:48You're not walking away from this program with just a website.
- 15:52And that's really what I wanna drive home.
- 15:54You are walking away with a messaging system that has a foundational element, and that foundational element, of course, is the website, but the whole structure here is intentional.
- 16:06Your website is a system, so we build it in a strategic order foundation first.
- 16:13High impact pages supporting content, and then a strategic launch with possibilities for repurposing.
- 16:21Each piece builds on the one before it.
- 16:24Now, if you join me soon, you are getting access to early bird bonuses that I am really excited about.
- 16:31During this initial launch, which started today and is going to go all the way through the end of the day on Thanksgiving, which if you don't happen to be in the US is Thursday, November 27th, this cart will be open, so the cart closes on midnight on the 27th of November.
- 16:51And because I'm always weird about that whole am PM thing.
- 16:55What I mean is after 11: 59 PM on the 27th of November, you will be able to join, but you will not be able to get any of the early bird bonuses that I am about to share with you.
- 17:10What I mean is after 11: . So the whole point of what I'm trying to say is if you join us before the end of the day on the 27th, you get three awesome bonuses, which are.
- 17:22What I mean is after 11: Which are so good that I feel like the value just there is, is practically equal or more than the cost that you're paying for the program.
- 17:32What I mean is after 11: So bear with me and I'll tell you what those bonuses are.
- 17:35What I mean is after 11: Bonus number one is an onboarding strategy session that is in depth.
- 17:40What I mean is after 11: This is the key to absolute success here.
- 17:43What I mean is after 11: We'll meet for a 90 minute one-on-one call before the program even starts.
- 17:49What I mean is after 11: In this call, I'm gonna give you total clarity and confidence about what you need to create.
- 17:55What I mean is after 11: It will be a custom roadmap for your website and marketing and brand messaging.
- 18:02What I mean is after 11: I should probably point that out here.
- 18:04What I mean is after 11: I want you to start the program ignoring exactly what you need to focus on instead of guessing.
- 18:09What I mean is after 11: So.
- 18:09What I mean is after 11: I will create a roadmap for you.
- 18:12What I mean is after 11: I will give you an actual deliverable.
- 18:14What I mean is after 11: We'll do our call and then you will get a document where this is outlined for you.
- 18:20What I mean is after 11: The pages, the site map, what goes on the pages.
- 18:24What I mean is after 11: Some of the key things you'll have to do during research are concentrate on for messaging.
- 18:30What I mean is after 11: So you're getting slightly done for you to kick off your done with you work.
- 18:37What I mean is after 11: The second bonus is the launch prep and site review call.
- 18:41What I mean is after 11: So once this is all done after the eight weeks, I want you to schedule an additional strategy call with me.
- 18:47What I mean is after 11: Right before you launch a new site, we're gonna hop on a call together.
- 18:50What I mean is after 11: I will review everything like physically on your site.
- 18:55What I mean is after 11: We will fine tune your launch strategy and you'll be able to go live knowing that your site is polished and ready.
- 19:03What I mean is after 11: And bonus number three, I am also pretty excited about that is website promotion.
- 19:08What I mean is after 11: I am gonna feature your new website to my engaged community of business owners and creatives, people who are actively looking for services like yours, instant exposure to potential clients.
- 19:23What I mean is after 11: I will do this by sharing your site on social media, creating a blog post that links out to your websites and talks about who you are.
- 19:32What I mean is after 11: What you offer, as well as having some individual members come on the podcast and I can talk about the great things that you do and the great work that you've created on your site.
- 19:43What I mean is after 11: Again, remember, those three bonuses are only for people who enroll during this early bird phase if you join after that, you can still enter the program for the January start, but you're not gonna have those bonuses, available to you.
- 19:58What I mean is after 11: Let's talk investment.
- 20:00What I mean is after 11: Rewrite your site cost for this initial round, $2,500.
- 20:04What I mean is after 11: You can pay in full or you can do three monthly payments of $835.
- 20:11What I mean is after 11: Here's how I want you to think about this.
- 20:13What I mean is after 11: If your website has even cost you one client this year because it is unclear or outdated, this program has likely already paid for itself.
- 20:24What I mean is after 11: Because remember, your website isn't just costing you clients.
- 20:27What I mean is after 11: It's affecting credibility, your pricing, and how hard your sales calls are.
- 20:32What I mean is after 11: It's how people refer to you and how effective all the other marketing will be because when your website works, everything gets easier.
- 20:40What I mean is after 11: So.
- 20:42What I mean is after 11: Go to the link in the show notes to find the sales page for rewrite your site.
- 20:48What I mean is after 11: You will see the full details.
- 20:50What I mean is after 11: Again, if you're just hearing this, you might need, you might say like, I need to just see those written down.
- 20:54What I mean is after 11: Okay, cool.
- 20:55What I mean is after 11: It's there.
- 20:56What I mean is after 11: You'll see the details.
- 20:57What I mean is after 11: You'll see your options for payment.
- 20:59What I mean is after 11: You can register, I will send you in information about scheduling your onboarding calls, how you can join us during our December pre-party times.
- 21:09What I mean is after 11: And then we start January 6th.
- 21:13What I mean is after 11: So eight weeks.
- 21:14What I mean is after 11: That is all it takes.
- 21:16What I mean is after 11: By the end of February, you're gonna have a website you're proud of and messaging that works across your entire business.
- 21:22What I mean is after 11: Just to end, you know, if you've been thinking about fixing your website for a long time and you open your site, or you open up, you know, a blank document, but feel that level of overwhelm like so much needs to change, but where do I even start?
- 21:38What I mean is after 11: This is your chance to finally do it in a supportive atmosphere.
- 21:44What I mean is after 11: Not alone, not guessing, not starting and stopping a hundred times.
- 21:50What I mean is after 11: You will have a clear plan, expert guidance, and a community of people who are doing the same work.
- 21:57What I mean is after 11: .
- 21:57What I mean is after 11: . I want you to start 2026 with a website work or obviously not get too far into 2026 with a website that doesn't.
- 22:07What I mean is after 11: I want you to have one that attracts clients that you want, one that you are excited to share instead of apologize for.
- 22:15What I mean is after 11: I do not want it to be March.
- 22:18What I mean is after 11: And you still be sitting there and think to yourself, yeah, I really need to update my website, and nothing has changed.
- 22:26What I mean is after 11: I want you to make 2026 the year it happens.
- 22:28What I mean is after 11: So I've talked to you long already.
- 22:30What I mean is after 11: If you have any questions before you join and I mean any questions, send me an email or send me a message on Voxer.
- 22:39What I mean is after 11: The email is support at erin Ollila dot com and Voxer is just at Erin Ollila.
- 22:45What I mean is after 11: I would rather spend time talking you through whether this is the right fit for you before you make a choice than have you sign up if you're not sure, because I want everyone who enters to feel really confident in their decision.
- 22:59What I mean is after 11: Alright, enrollment is open, the link is in the show notes, and I hope I'm gonna see you and rewrite your site soon.
